Summary:  

In the State of Washington, under a near constant cover of clouds and rain, there’s a small town named Forks. Apparently, this is Dean’s home for the next six months. Great. Just when they are close to finding Mary’s killer, John benches Dean to bumfuck nowhere, giving him one rule - look after Sammy. 

When Dean enrolls Sam in the local high school, he has a strange encounter with one of Sam’s teachers, Mr Castiel Novak. His erratic behavior causes Dean to wonder if maybe this is a hunt and there are, in fact, supernatural monsters in Forks. As Dean gets closer to the man, he finds himself unnaturally drawn to him. When Cas saves his life from a runaway van, leaving a large imprint behind that looks oddly like wings, Dean’s defenses start to crumble, and before he knows it, he’s falling hard and fast for the creature he should be hunting.

Excerpt: 

Cas walks away, his back straight, and his shoulders rigid. The air shimmers around him, charged with electricity like lightning about to strike. 

He steps into the light. 

“This is what I am.” 

Two massive wings unfurl behind him, black as the night sky and speckled with shimmering starlight. The feathers move and shift together like a slow dance or the ripples on a pond in the dead of night. And yet, they aren’t corporeal, not completely. Sunlight passes through them, fracturing and splintering at the edges.  

His eyes glow, the outline of Cas’ face pulses and morphs, like he’s being pulled from earth, stuck between here and somewhere better. 

“You’re beautiful,” Dean whispers, afraid that if he says it too loudly he might disappear. 

“Beautiful?” Cas closes his eyes and turns his head away. “These are the wings of a killer, Dean.” 

A branch snaps underfoot as Dean steps forward. He moves up the rock until he’s face to face with the angel. “I don’t care.” 

“It’s your job...” Cas opens his eyes, incandescent and blue, staring back at him. “As a hunter.”

“You won’t hurt me,” Dean says, his voice unwavering. Slowly, he reaches out to touch his wings, but in the blink of an eye, he’s gone. 

Dean spins, his heart hammering in his chest. Perched up the hill, Cas stands, his wings tucked into the shadows. “I have never wanted a human soul as much as I want yours,” he says, pain clear in his voice. 

“I trust you.” 

“Don’t.”

Castiel returned on a Tuesday

Summary:

When Jack pulled Castiel from the Empty he was covered in black goo, kneeling on all fours and immediately torn between wanting to wrap his kid in a hug and go back to the shadows. He had not expected to come back this time. Not many deathbed confessions are given a response and Castiel didn’t want to know.

It took nearly a year to get Heaven in order. Father and son worked side by side to make Heaven the way it should have been from the beginning. But when it was done, Jack didn’t want to interfere anymore. He wanted to be hands off. He wanted to be a kid.

When Dean was walking through a small coastal side town, killing time while his Baby was being repaired, he hadn’t expect to run into a small child with familiar blue eyes, nor did he expect to hear the voice of supposedly dead best friend.

“and when they get castiel back from the empty he’s happy and at peace with being vocally in love with dean even if dean doesn’t love him back—” WRONG!!! castiel conveniently has to leave for seventeen super important solo hunts in a row and fakes amnesia and throws his phone into the ocean so dean can’t track him!!!

Canonically, Dean never said Cas’ name after the fake phone call in 15.19. Canonically, while Bobby said Cas “Helped” revamp Heaven into a Heaven that Dean “deserved,” Cas never showed up. Canonically, Dean left that heaven, which contained his family, to go “find family.”

There is a glitch that is Cas-shaped, and Dean knows it.

Thrift shops are not for the poor, they are for the very poor and desperate. Who would want pre-owned clothes that smell like someone else, that no matter how many times you wash them, they never lose the original owner's scent? Someone who doesn’t have any other options, someone like Castiel. However, one day, in the lead-up to Christmas, he catches the scent of an alpha (who smells exactly like apple pie) on a $3 second-hand trench coat, that makes him do stupid things. In a world where alphas are given all the advantages of life, there aren’t many options for omegas. It is either find an alpha to support you or live a life well below the poverty line. Castiel had chosen the second option. It seemed noble at first, but after a decade on his own, life continues to wear him down. All that changes when he meets the jacket's original owner (and promptly throws up on him), causing him to rethink his decision.

This is the kind of a healing story you want to read when you're feeling down. You follow omega Castiel's adventure as his luck slowly begins to turn for the better while the poor guy just worries his heart out.

Sam plays an important role in bringing these two together, but it is Dean protectiveness and care that really lights everything up.

The world building is short, but the universe is very interesting and there's a bit of angst and hurt to spice things up and make it all the more sweeter. But ultimately, they are two adorable idiots in love who'll leave you with nothing but a smile on your face.

Castiel's life couldn't be better, he has a loving husband and a son who he adores. He and Crowley were even talking about expanding their little family. Castiel truly believed he was living the American dream. That was until his world is turned upside down when Crowley surprises him with an omega, tied up in their basement.

This is one helluva adventure. It has it all, angst, hurt, comfort, a rollercoaster of emotions and a realistically happy ending.

Along with some nice action and some funny moments, the story takes us through a kidnapping where one person is trapped by literal chains, while the other is bound by metaphorical ones. And just when they think they might have a chance of an escape, something comes along to ruin it for them. But fear not, with each chapter, they are one step closer to freedom.

And the absolute best part? We get to see the John Winchester Dean deserves to have for a father. A man who would go to no extent to make sure his son is safe and sound. And happy too.
