Gravity Pt 6

IDW Optimus x Reader

• “Why Earth?” Turning away from his work at the soft question, he finds you sitting cross legged nearby watching him with a little frown. Yours been quiet so long, he’s assumed you were resting. At his questioning look, you roll your hand in a vague little gesture. “Why did you all come here? Why Earth?”

• Servos flexing slightly, he leans his forearms against the desk. Almost looming over you, but you don’t lean away. Just arching your eyebrows at him, because it’s been bothering you for a while now. Surely there were other worlds closer to his world, to Cybertron. So why here? “In the archives, there were ancient records of worlds the Primes had visited during the expansion before the war with the Quintessons. Of worlds that had been seeded with energon or interacted with,” he says. The words bringing up more questions than answers. Quintessons? Other Primes? Only energon rings a bell, because that’s the stuff he lives on, but seeded?

• Your expression twists and he knows he should explain it all. That he owes it to you after trapping you with him, but the past has only ever wounded him. Dredging it up always brings up the choices and mistakes he’d made. The things he can’t undo, but wishes he could because something small might have led them all down a different path, a brighter one if he’d only been better, stronger.

• “You came here for the energon,” you hazard. He’s volunteered so little of his past, only letting things slip occasionally. Like that his Autobots are at war, that they’d had to flee their world and that their enemies had followed. The details, though? Like why they’d left Cybertron or even what the war was over? Those things he doesn’t seem ready to talk about so you haven’t pushed.

• “We had no way of knowing about your species. You didn’t exist when this world was seeded as a potential colony.” Reaching out, he crooks a servo not really expecting for you to lay a hand on him and let him gently pull you to your feet. “I wouldn’t have led the Decepticons here if I’d known.” And that’s his guilt to carry from now on. Another failure that might cost so much, another sin weighing on his spark, because this world might not survive their war. You might not.

• “You guys were starving, right?” You ask, hand lingering on his servo as he inclines his head. “You were trying to save who you could, I get that.” It’s not fair or right, but you do understand. From what you can gather from the things he doesn’t want to say, things were pretty desperate. He was desperate. And to be responsible for the survival of your people, what would you have done in his place? You’re pretty sure you wouldn’t be nearly as honorable as he is, that you’d do anything regardless of the cost, because you’re not good like he is.

• Spark warming at your soft words, it’s that you understand that makes him curl his servo about you. How can you not blame him for bringing his war to your home? Not hate him or at least resent him? Your little palm slides against his servo like you’re trying to comfort him, worrying over him. It’s a weight from him that you don’t despise him even though he knows that this and what will follow will be his fault. For now he just wants to feel your hand on him and pretend that this one time, his decisions won’t cost him what little he has right now in this moment. Won’t cost you, because you give him something to look forward to every day. Something beyond duty or responsibility, just enjoying your company, the sound of your voice. The soft touch of a hand reaching out to him to break his loneliness.

Ratchet who was neutral in the war.

He was neither Autobot nor Decepticon, but a medic for those who were caught between fire fights or who couldn’t fight. Sparklings, injured civilians, lower class citizens who couldn’t get shelter from either side for whatever reason.

Ratchet would go out himself and find them, brining them back to one of several hidden infirmaries he set up with volunteers and past students of his.

First Aid always stayed in the biggest one, which held all the sparklings as it was the safest.

Fixit would sneak between them all to make sure that all the set false safes were in order. He helped show the little ones where to gin in the case of an attack.

He believed Optimus Prime wanted to help, but the mech was too busy fighting the fight to be able to spare much time on the broken bots that had a chance.

They knew each other and Prime had worked to keep their bases a secret even as Ratchet resumed to let them sway him into fighting with them.

Megatron’s men were allowed only in one base where other soldiers were kept, guarded by Pharma and Remedy both. Autobots and Decepticon both had an understanding that it was neutral ground and no fights would be had, the two keeping in seperate wings of the fragile clinic.

That understanding was crushed after one fateful cycle.

Ratchet had responded to First Aids distress signal as quick as he could, travelling over half of Cybertron to get to the infirmary as quick as he could.

He arrived just in time to see Shockwave leaving.

With dread in his spark he had rushed through a secret exit and into the main room and instantly fell to his knees.

Over two hundred sparklings lay desecrated in the entire place.

Most of them were missing some part of their body, some burnt into nothing.

Ratchet only made a noise, a wailing sound of pure grief, when he saw the remains of First Aid clutching three little ones.

All dead.

His screams had only grown in intensity as he looked around the room and found that Pharma and Remedy had come to aid and fallen as well.

Ratchet could have stayed there and rusted over if he hadn’t notice some of his patients weren’t there, hope burning his spark as I rushed to the feeds to try and figure out where they had gone.

He watches the footage with grime determination even as he feels his spark shattering into pieces.

It falters for several moments when he watches Shockwave order some of his men to take some of the sparklings. He hears the disturbing mech say something about ‘suitable test subjects’ and feels the energon in his systems freeze. Ratchet’s heard of what Shockwave has done, how the unfeeling monster doesn’t care for the notion of ethical conduct and onto for results.

Eventually Optimus as some of his most trusted come by the hidden location in the hopes of stopping a massacre, only to find Ratchet sitting on the floor with the body of a sparkling in his hands.

He had tried to bring the femme back after seeing a slight flux in her tiny spark, but it was useless.

Bumblebee is hurt the most as it was the same clinic he had been raised in before he became a scout, seeing Ratchet work for years and being the main reason they had even known something was wrong.

He falls to his knees as Elita moves to check for Decepticons, if only to distract herself.

Optimus approaches Ratchet with grief in his spark, carefully removing the deceased sparkling from his hold.

“I… I am truely sorry, old friend.”

Ratchet looks up and sees Orion Pax, the young mechling who had once asked him for an autograph.

When he speaks it’s distant, like his mainframe as gone on autopilot, “He took some of the sparklings. We need to find them.”

Optimus nods, helping him stand on unsteady pedes, “We will, I swear we will it stop until we have.”

Ratchet looks at Optimus with a fire in his eyes, “I know. But Optimus, I don’t care about you code. I don’t care about your morals or war crimes, Shockwave will pay for this.”

For the first time since the war began, the Prime looked around the room and nodded with a darkness over his optics.

“You are right. They have gone too far to deserve honour.”

The Siblings of Fate

(Author note: I had to write this idea because it's seriously hindering my ability to focus on updating the next chapters of Echoes of the Unknown.)

Imagine the quintessons or some other evil entity momentarily capturing Optimus and Megatron, and taking parts of their sparks in hopes of cloning warriors capable of matching them in a fight. After several experimental trials, they managed to clone two functional transformers.

Imagine being one of those clones, waking up from an egg inside a lab and growing up with another transformer, who you saw as your sibling and your only family. You love each other despite your clear differences and try to survive under the harsh rule of your creators, who seem to be trying to prepare you for something.

It was clear that they saw your kind as slaves as they were unkind and unforgiving. They did not allow any type of flaws. You do not like it but there was nothing you could do.

You and your sibling take in a younger transformer who becomes like your younger sibling.

You dream of proper names, freedom to explore the galaxy without fear, and a place to call home.

One day, you uncover your creator's sinister plans and decide to break free from them with your family.

You and your siblings escape using the space bridge technology. You set a course toward this unknown planet, then blow up the control systems so your creators can't follow you.

You arrive at this planet called Earth. You stumble upon a human farm, and despite you and your siblings being giant metallic aliens, the human family decides to take you in.

You learn English and get proper names, abandoning your former number designations. You come to love your new home and your human family, even though you sometimes worry about your creators finding you again.

However, you then realize you were not the only transformers on earth. Through a brief confrontation, you meet the Autobots and the Decepticons, and though, you and your siblings were your own persons, you two shared a lot of similarities with the factions' leaders.

You can only hope nothing terrible will come out of this.

Transformers Priest au

In an alternate universe of "Transformers Priest," Cybertron is on the brink of destruction, caught in an endless war between Autobots and Decepticons. To prevent their sacred relics from falling into the wrong hands, the Priests of Primus, an order of devout guardians, decide to disperse these powerful artifacts across the universe. Among these relics, the most precious is the Chalice of Primus, a blood-red crystal with golden veins, capable of strengthening armor and granting near-miraculous regeneration to wounded Cybertronians.

This Chalice ends up on Earth in the midst of the Inquisition. Humans, upon finding this artifact and seeing the arrival of the Priests, interpret these visitors as angels sent by heaven. Convinced that their mission is divine, the humans take it upon themselves to protect the Chalice in secret, hiding it in an abbey and passing their mission down through the generations, as the Chalice gains the reputation of being a “Holy Grail.”

In modern times, the Chalice of Primus is rediscovered during an archaeological dig. When activated, its energy is detected in the cosmos, drawing the attention of the Autobots and Decepticons, who see in it a tool capable of tipping the balance of the war in their favor. Both sides head to Earth, where they find a humanity that still perceives the Autobots as angels and the Decepticons as fallen angels, corrupted by darkness.

Optimus Prime and the Autobots try to explain to the humans that they are not divine, but alien beings in a war to protect the universe. However, humanity's faith is unwavering: they see the Autobots as the embodiment of goodness and the Decepticons as absolute evil, demonic entities that seek to destroy everything they touch. Taking advantage of this perception, Megatron and the Decepticons sow fear among humans, forcing them to surrender the Chalice to their control.

Finally, the decisive battle takes place in the ancient abbey where the Chalice is located. In their confrontation, the artifact is destroyed, splitting into two halves: one falls into the hands of Optimus Prime and the other into those of Megatron. As each takes a part, both leaders are drastically transformed, with the power of the Chalice reflected in them.

Optimus Prime acquires imposing armor with golden details that shine, and on his back emerges a metallic cape that can unfold like wings, giving him an angelic and majestic air. The Chalice fragment he holds becomes a magnificent scepter, capable of healing and restoring his allies, renewing their strength in battle. Humanity now sees him as a true war angel, the god-like figure they had always imagined.

Megatron, on the other hand, upon absorbing his half of the Chalice, transforms into a shadowy figure. His armor darkens and takes on a dull golden glow, while the Chalice fragment in his hands becomes a sharp, dark scepter, radiating crimson energy. Megatron becomes a figure of destruction and chaos, fueling human beliefs that he is a demonic being, a corrupted, fallen angel, bringer of death.

The Chalice, divided, grants partial blessings to both sides. The armor of the Autobots and Decepticons is enhanced, with golden details reflecting the holy powers they now possess. Humanity is caught between these two colossi: the Autobots, whom they regard as sacred protectors, and the Decepticons, whom they view as harbingers of doom. The conflict over the Chalice of Primus becomes an epic battle between the sacred and the profane, a symbolic struggle whose outcome could decide the fate of both Earth and Cybertron.

Have a surprise sparkling

The blip on the monitor showed up as an unaligned bot. They had to get this bot to their side before the other team got to them.

One Ground Bridge later to the spot where the blip showed up. The Autobots got to the spot first and the team composed of Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee, and Wheeljack. Wheeljack was bored and wanted to go along just in case the 'cons showed up or were already there. Optimus and the rest had their weapons out but Bumblebee spotted something in the underbrush of the forest. Optimus goes over and kneels to gently move the plants away from what Bumblebee saw.

The group flinched back when they heard the sound of a distressed sparkling. Optimus puts away his blaster and talks softly to the frightened sparkling.

"Hey, little one. It is ok. We won't hurt you." Optimus said while holding his hand out to the little one.

The sparkling looks up to Optimus with its soft purple optics and slowly crawls to him. He felt safe and wasn't like the squishy things running around. Optimus slowly picked up the sparkling and stood up.

"I can't believe we found a sparkling," Arcee said while keeping a lookout for the Decepticons.

Optimus nods to her while Wheeljack coms Ratchet.

"Hey, doc? We might need you to set up your med bay" Wheeljack smiled as Ratchet got agitated by his words.

After a minute, the Ground Bridge opened up, and the group stepped through into the Autobot base. The sparkling looks around at the new bots and location. Once Ratchet saw the sparkling he went over to Optimus.

"This is the first sparkling I saw in millions of years after Bumblebee came to be." He took the sparkling to do a checkup on the little one.

Optimus stood nearby as Ratchet did a full checkup on their new little guest. The sparkling was a Femme and in perfect health besides needing a clean. She did not like Ratchet doing a checkup on her and squirmed in his grasp.

"She has spirit, you got to admit," Wheeljack said as the sparkling swatted at Ratchet's servos and tools.

Jack, Miko, and Raf just showed up after school in Bulkhead and saw the rest of their giant friends surround Ratchet's workspace.

"What has got everyone so interested in what Ratchet is doing?" Miko said as she started walking over to the others.

Once the sparkling started making noise Bulkhead went over to see. Miko looked confused at the noise.

"What was that?" Jack said as he got close enough to Optimus.

Optimus just held his hand out to the kids and lifted them to get a look at the bitlet. Miko's eyes widened, and she gasped. Jack and Raf are equally surprised at this.

"This is what we call a sparkling. A rare thing on Cybertron. A femme no less." Optimus said to the kids.

Miko is bouncing with joy at seeing a baby robot in person. Raf just thinks and speaks up to the Autobots.

"How are sparklings made? They had to come from somewhere." Bumblebee beeps in agreement with Raf because he doesn't know himself.

Ratchet just thinks about how to explain this to the children. He didn't even know if they had 'the talk' as June said.

"It is like what humans do." Ratchet eventually said to the human children.

Miko just groaned at that but didn't ask again. Jack looked at the sparkling and noticed something in her mouth.

"What is that on the roof of her mouth?" Jack said to Ratchet.

Confused, Ratchet carefully opens the sparkling's mouth to see what Jack is talking about. The sparkling squeals, but Ratchet goes on, and he gasps at what he sees.

"By the Primes. She has Solus Prime's mark" he said as he activated a camera in his digit to show the symbol.

The rest of Team Prime gasp at the symbol. Even Optimus had a look of shock on his face.

So in this Season 2 AU, there’s a mystery surrounding a masked figure after Ghost was shut down. The figure has been causing trouble in various areas the cybertroniana and terrans are in as some of Ghost’s files were shared by Agent Schloder with the Maltos and Autobots. Looking into what Karen Croft was getting up to, what secrets she’s been keeping with Ghost, and what other plans there were. There was a hidden specimen deep in the labs Agent Schloder was unaware of a skeletal figure with cybertronian biology mixed with Earth. Possibly an unknown Terran unaccounted for but origins unknown. There’s a separate file of a young girl who went missing 6 years ago. Her name was Sarita Sumdac. Her connection with the new figure is unknown.

The masked figure is revealed to be Unicronian in origin as the presence of Unicron’s spark at the center of the Earth is discovered and the figure’s efforts to free him, which would result in the Earth being torn apart, provides motivation to stop the figure’s plans and bring the Decepticons in for help. As no one wants the planet they live in and are stranded on to be destroyed.

During one battle to prevent certain technologies from being taken away, the figure is about to shoot at Dot and an injured Megatron when Twitch intervenes.

That is when the connection between the missing ‘human’ girl and the agent of Unicron is revealed.

And that is the context for this scene right here.

Okay, so I think I have some more ideas for that Transformers au, since that was all my brain let me think about during the second half of my shift

It’s mostly just about Megatron and also the Decepticon cause

Okay so first off, I think if I want to make things the way I do, I’m gonna say that the Decepticons are genuinely fighting for equality for Cybertronians, while the Autobots are fighting to maintain the status quo. It’s not necessarily to say all Autobots want inequality, and some are fighting in hopes to build a better future through more peaceful means, but a lot of them don’t really recognize that the system is or was that bad. And there are still bad Decepticons, either those just wanting to cause mayhem or are just looking for a way to better their own status, but a large portion are fighting for change in Cybertronian government

Part of what makes the Autobots the generally dominant force in this conflict is that they’ve got a lot of propaganda going for them and against the Decepticons, including that being why they’re called “Decepticons”. Not everything said about the Decepticons is untrue, they are willing to do less than savory things to achieve their goals if necessary, but the idea that the Decepticons are evil deceivers is largely propaganda

I think in my head, I want the war to be portrayed as an actual civil war and revolution. When we hear about them in history, yeah there seems to be a relatively obvious good and bad looking back, like with the American Revolution and the Patriots and Loyalists, but in the moment, when they happened, neither side was entirely good or bad, and there’s reasons as to why people stuck to one side or the other, because they were people, not entities with a singular shared ideal

The French Revolution might be a more accurate comparison to the Cybertronian civil war, but also I grew up in America so the AR is my big frame of reference and I don’t know much about the FR other than it being semi inspired by the American one and having a lot of execution. But you get what I’m saying regardless

But also if we want the idea of the Decepticons being “evil”, well you gotta probably add some propaganda to explain why that’s how they’re depicted

Optimus is someone who just wants peace and is genuinely a good person, but he was also raised on Autobot propaganda and was never in a position in life where he would have particularly suffered the system (though he probably did still have hardships, I just don’t know what). Throughout this story he learns to see the truth of the matter more

Meanwhile, back to Megatron, the person I meant to be talking about

Okay so I’m thinking that he’s from a colony or city that was at the bottom rung of Cybertronian society, though I haven’t decided particularly what his job was. It might have been a miner and/or gladiator (I’m debating gladiator to have that be a reason he’s high up in rank), but maybe I should do something else

But anyways, I haven’t worked out the kinks in his backstory, but his birthplace was under control of the Autobots, and he became emboldened by the ideals of the Decepticons and their leader (who at this point I might just make Galvatron), and ended up leading an uprising alongside his fellow bots to overthrow the corrupt leadership in their home, and being successful in this attempt. The Autobots were planning to launch a counterattack to reclaim the area, but the Decepticons caught wind of the uprising and managed to get there first, leading to the place becoming Decepticon territory and being under their protection

While not everyone involved decided to join the Decepticon rebellion afterwards, plenty being content to just have their freedom, Megatron decided to join with them afterwards, wanting to bring their cause to even more places amongst the galaxy

Megatron was a powerful bot, and one with a lot of guts and courage, and he has some skill in leading other bots, which led to him becoming a Decepticon commander. He’s also extremely loyal to those who’ve earned his respect

However his main flaw is that he is deeply emotional, and as such has a tendency to let his emotions overtake his logic and common sense, and that’s when he tends to fail and make the wrong decisions. This tends to particularly be a problem because his main emotion is anger

This is exactly why Starscream ends up getting assigned to Megatron as his second in command; Starscream may not be the most upstanding bot, but he’s very shrewd and very flexible with his circumstances, always looking for a way to come out on top, not letting grudges and emotions get in the way of things. Couple that with his extensive military experience and he was considered a good fit for Megatron, with the idea the two could even each other out

Speaking of Starscream, I’m flirting with the idea he may have at one point been an Autobot, but eventually switched sides alongside his squadron, but that’s neither here nor there

Anyways back to Megatron, he tends to judge people based on their character and direct actions rather than their skills and accomplishments. It’s not to say he can’t work with someone who’s highly skilled but an asshole, he just won’t like them

You’d think this means he’d be able to make peace with the Autobot squadron relatively quickly, but he has a deep hatred for Autobots (probably backstory related but again I don’t know the specifics) that tends to override that idea of judging by their character. Over time he also learns to let this hatred of the Autobots go, particularly because of Optimus as he sees the bot is genuinely good and wants to do what’s right

Also with that, I’m thinking he and Optimus have no prior connection, only meeting now at the time of the story. They probably knew of each other, but had no prior personal relationship

So basically they get enemies to lovers instead of the divorce arc. Well I mean, I’m not sure if they end up together, maybe one or both of them have other people they date. But you get what I mean

And yeah, I think that’s about it. I should probably go do homework now in all honesty

This is a bit fucked up, but what do you think of seekers eating other cybertronians? I already headcanon Slipstream eats (already dead) four-wheelers and ANY sort of warframes since they're really the only bots who require the same high-quality fuel as seekers, but what do you think of seekers just eating both dead and alive cybertronians?

Okay so like literally so valid for this thought and yes yes I love it.

Seekers, perhaps in earlier times had a rule against eating grounders but NOW? Well shit anyone is fair game when you’re in war baby and they need as much metal and energon as they did before the war. They don’t have any cybertronian wild life to consume anymore so other cybertronians are going to be the next best thing.

I’m sure there was hesitation of course, after all who would want to be considered on the same level as a spark eater. But this brings up the question of how it began. Perhaps two or three trines spot a really large mech who’s pretty injured and it just clicks and suddenly the battle front turns into a horror show as six or nine seekers maul this poor mech. They’re dead the moment one of them tears open a main fuel line and it most definitely gathers the rest of the flock’s attention. I doubt it would even matter to them if that mech was Decepticon or Autobot because at this point I’m sure most of the seekers are craving those metals and high quality fuel.

What Megatron is doing is basically keeping a bunch of large apex predators and not feeding them correctly, someone is bound to get eaten.

(And I say apex predators because the predacons are well extinct until Shockwave brings them back)

Also, after the initial consumption of a cybertronian, I have no doubt they would start wandering old battlefields for more to consume.

Me, who gave my cybersona heterochromia and made another OC's optics green: optic color symbolism is a social construct

well not totally given that my Insecticon OC has red optics like the others, and Meltdown's heterochromia actually represents the fact that he agrees with both the Autobots and Decepticons at the same time- but his left optic is weaker than his right one which represents that he's ultimately more sympathetic to the Decepticons. But Aniline is 100% Decepticon and she has green optics

I don't mind seeing the Fallen being a Good Bot But I really wish they kept his Eyes Yellow

(Or even Orange instead of changing Megatronus' Eye Colour to Blue for No Reason other than to let People Know he is Not the Bad Guy like in Older Transformers Comics and Shows and the Funko Megatronus Concept is from Instagram)

Echoes of the Unknown

You finish fixing the hologram projector. You join Bulkhead and Bumblebee along with Emily to refine its accuracy. The trip was supposed to be safe, but then Emily gets kidnapped by a Decepticon who looks like a spider.

Warnings: some mild violence, Emily getting kidnapped and Airachnid being a warning herself.

Chapter 15

The day was surprisingly peaceful at the Autobot base. You were working on the hologram projector with Raf. After days of fixing, replacing damaged parts, and making final calibrations — you were at the breakthrough of finally finishing it. You were definitely going to thank Raf for all of his help in some way. 

“Alright, this should be it,” you said, closing the lid and attaching the device around your wrist. 

“Ready for a test drive?” you looked toward Raf. 

“Ready when you are,” he replied with his computer. 

“First step, input the code to scan your body,” he instructed. 

“Inputting the code,” you said as you touched on the cybertronian symbols. You understood little cybertronian thanks to Raf and Ratchet whenever they were free to teach you a few words. 

“Scanning,” you said as the device scanned your whole body. 

“Now push the button on the top to project the hologram,” Raf said and you did as he instructed. 

The device then started projecting, creating a holographic replica of you standing face-to-face with you. You felt excited to see yourself even though the color intensity was off and the hologram was flickering. You could easily tell that it was a hologram but seeing it work made you excited. 

“It worked!” you exclaimed. 

“Well done. (Name) and Rafael.” Ratchet gave one of his rare smiles. “I never thought I would ever see that little trinket operational again,” 

“It’s all thanks to our combined effort. But mostly because of your genius brain, maestro,” you said, extending your hand to Raf for a high five. He happily returned it. 

“Thought it's not fully perfect to be considered a perfect optical illusion. The coloring is off and the flickering will give it away,” Ratchet crossed his arms. 

“Those are not hard to fix. The device will only need more data to progress the hologram more accurately, but since we had to completely replace the memory core, it’s currently progressing only (Name)’s data,” Raf explained. 

“So, in simple terms, this little darling only knows how to stand at the moment?” you questioned. 

“Exactly. If we feed it more data, it can project holograms more accurately, and if we let it scan more of you in different positions, we could even make it move however we like. ” Raf answered.

“Not a bad idea,” you said. “So, I guess it's time to train this infant device into a trained hologram projector,” you stated, looking through the other settings. 

“Nerd talk,” Miko commented from the couch. 

“I think you need to give it a name. It sounds like work to constantly call it a hologram projector,” Emily chipped in while cleaning her camera. 

“Then—how about Holly? Seems simple enough?” you suggested. 

“Sounds good to me,” Raf shrugged. 

“Alright. We’re ready to head out,” Bulkhead said as he stood in front of the bridge with Bumblebee. 

“We are you headed?” you asked curiously. 

“We got an energon reading at this one place in Africa. We’re just gonna go there to check it out,” Bulkhead explained. 

“Africa?” Emily’s head perked up when she heard the name. 

“Hey, is there a chance I could come along? Africa is filled with many living wonders and I think it would be a good opportunity to do some scanning and train my Holly,” you asked, showing the device in your hand. 

“Sure. I see why not,” Bulkhead nodded. 

“Can I come along too?” Emily suddenly asked. 

“I need some exotic photos for my portfolio and Africa would be such a perfect start!” she explained, holding her camera. 

“Uhh…” Bulkhead was unsure how to answer. 

“This would help me with my assignment. So, please!” Emily pleaded with her hands together. 

“You know, I’m nearly coming for the same reason, so how about I watch over her while you do your recon? We will be out of your way and you do not have to worry about us,” you questioned. 

Bumblebee beeped, giving his approval. 

“Then… Sure. Come along then,” Bulkhead said. 

“Yes!” Emily cheered then ran down from the platform as Ratchet opened the ground bridge and you all passed through. 

After you passed through the ground bridge, you were surrounded by thick wilderness and plant life. You were intrigued as you had never been to Africa and Emily was already gleaming with excitement like a child on a Christmas shopping run. She already took a few pictures while you started scanning trees and different plants. 

“The signal is coming over there. It’s some distance away so let’s get moving,” Bulkhead said and you followed him and Bee out of the forest. 

While walking behind the two, you scanned what came your way and Emily took photos of her interests. You four soon arrived at a hill. 

Emily released a gasp.

“What?” You were nearly startled, then looked at what got her interested. You saw a pretty view of a large waterfall. 

“Victoria Falls. I gotta go take a close look,” she looked toward you. 

“How far are you guys gonna go?” you turned toward Bulkhead and Bee. 

“It’s right up ahead. It shouldn’t be too far,” Bulkhead explained. 

“Okay. I’m gonna go with Emily. Call us if something happens,” you said. 

“Be careful you two,” Bulkhead said as you went with Emily to take a closer look at the Victoria Falls. 

The waterfalls were lovely. Emily was completely invested in taking perfect pictures from where you stood while you scanned the different birds and animals that were there. You then tested your Holly, and it nearly created a perfect replica of one of the birds you scanned with the right color intensity and less flickering. 

“Nice. I guess training Holly is finally giving some results,” Emily stated as she glanced at the holographic bird. She then seemed to have an idea. 

“Hey, could you possibly make it stand steady enough? This could be a good chance to get a close-up pic,” she asked as she turned her camera toward the bird. 

“Isn’t that considered cheating? I didn’t take you for that type,” you looked at her with a ‘really’ look. 

“Nah. I just take the best out of everything. Let’s try at least,” she said. 

“Okay,” you rolled your eyes as she took a photo. 

“How did it turn out?” you asked as she frowned at the photo. 

“I guess holograms aren’t photogenic. You can see through it,” she said, showing you a ghostly image of the bird. 

“You know, we have been with the bots for quite some time now. It nearly feels like yesterday when they chased us and brought us to their base,” Emily said. 

“Yeah. It’s been really nice,” you agreed. 

“Have you given some thought about becoming an Autobot?” she asked. 

You hummed. “To be completely honest… I’ve been considering it,” you said. 

“Really?” Emily looked at you. 

“Yeah. There’s no knowing if their war will ever come to an end, but I could do small things to assist them. This is our planet after all,” you explained. 

“I wish I could do more, but I’m not a fighter, neither am I brave enough to face any serious action,” you confessed. 

“Says the bot who dared to go to a battlefield and shoot a con to save Miko,” she grinned, causing you to roll your eyes. 

“But hey… even the smallest actions can make a big difference,” she added, and you smiled at her enthusiasm.  

You then heard a loud explosion in the distance. You felt worried as that was the way Bulkhead and Bumblebee went. It sounded like a fight was going on.

“I wonder what’s happening over there,” Emily stated. 

“I think they might be in a fight. Should we check on them?” you questioned, then heard a beep from your comlink. 

“(Name). We engaged with cons. Return to base with Emily and call for backup,” Bulkhead instructed. 

“Understood,” You said standing up. 

“Come on, Emily. Time to go,” You said, but her attention was then caught on something else. 

“Look,” she pointed at something. You then saw what seemed to be a bird. 

“Let me take a picture of that one, then we can go,” she said, getting close to the bird. 

“Em!” you groaned when she already bolted toward the bird. “We don’t have the time. Come on,” you said. 

Emily carefully kneeled while watching the bird. She took a few pictures before something snapped and it flew away. Disappointment crossed her face before she then noticed that she was kneeling on something white and sticky. It looked like part of a spider web. She then looked up and saw a dark and purple cybertronian looking at her with a grin. 

She yelled when the webbing below her picked her up in the air. 

“Emily!” you said in panic when you heard her scream. 

You ran to the scene and looked up to see a female robot with legs like a spider in the trees, holding Emily in some kind of cocoon. 

“You will fit well into my collection,” she said, sliding her sharp fingers across Emily’s face. 

“Em!” you called out, pointing at the spider lady with your blaster. 

The spider lady hissed and suddenly shot webs at you. You avoided the first two, but your blaster arm was caught by the third, slamming you against the ground. You were stuck against the ground as the web was like a super clue, pinning you down. 

“(Name)!” Emily yelled as the spider lady took her away. 

You looked after them in panic before opening your com. “Bulkhead! They got Em!” you yelled while trying to free yourself from the web. 

“What?!” he replied. 

“A spider con got Emily and she’s taking her away,” you explained. 

“Oh no. Bulkhead to base! We need backup!” he called through the open link. 

You pulled hard through the web before using your sharp talons to cut through it and break free. You wasted no time in going after Emily and the spider con. 

It was not hard to track them as Emily’s screams still reached you. You arrived at the place where Bulkhead and Bumblebee were engaging with the Decepticons. The spider con ran behind the Vehicons as they rained blaster fire upon the two bots. Bulkhead and Bumblebee stopped when they saw Emily in the spider lady’s hands. 

You slid down from the hill to get closer but stayed hidden. 

“I will be taking your pet for now,” she grinned as another ground bridge showed up. You felt panic when you saw her run inside with Emily. The Vehicons followed. You quickly looked through your options and then took out your face plate. You still looked like them, so maybe you could… 

You then saw the last Vehicon run in and the bridge began to close. You set the faceplate on your face and ran as fast as you could toward the ground bridge. Bulkhead and Bumblebee seemed to have realized what you planned on doing. 

“(Name), Wait!” Bulkhead yelled but it was too late as you ran through the bridge as it closed right behind you.

This is an au after the war!

The decepticons were a group of mostly lower class bots that started a revolution against the higher classes, demanding equality and better treatment. The autobots were a group of higher class bots that supported the decepticon cause but believed in peaceful protest instead of violence. Both factions fought against Cybertron's leaders, the original primes.

After the conflict ended, the autobots and decepticons joined to rebuild Cybertron and Megatron ended the decepticons and Optimus passed the matrix down. And they decided to raise a kid :D

(in my au, sparklings are created when both partners donate a piece of their spark and forge it together, creating a new and small spark. The sparkling's body is either created with spare parts or the spark (don't ask how lmao idk) "scans" both the parents and creates a body based on both the parents' features)

Optimus became the "stay at home dad" while Megs got a job at an office (which he says is absolute t0rture), quite the opposite of his former jobs lmao 💀

Lowkey, I think one of my favorite little things about Rescue Bots is how we get to learn a little more about Optimus when he shows up. Like, not war stuff or Orion Pax stuff, but just little things about Optimus.

One of his favorite Earth stories is The Little Engine That Could. Does he read in his spare time and if so, how did he find Little Engine?

He tells Heatwave that he has also been learning from humans. What has he learned? The phrase "Nothing much, double dutch." Who the fuck taught him that? My money's on Miko. Jack would not have the audacity to add that to Prime's vernacular.

He has a motherfuckin' rocket powered car carrier capable of hauling four bots. And since Team Prime had four four-wheelers on the team prior to Darkness Rising, you could reasonably assume that he has used it with Cliff, Bee, Bulk, and Ratch

Optimus knows what a pogo stick is. That isn't anything noteworthy, I just think it's funny.

So I’m still going back and forth on that Transformers concept I mentioned yesterday, whether or not I like it

Tbh I might at least just try it out at least for a few characters, just to see where it goes, but I still need to figure out how to draw Transformers. I’ve been neglecting doing more practice

But anyways, I’m mostly just making this post to say that I have at least thought up a concept for Starscream in this story. Should I probably pair it with a design so that it’s more substantive? Yeah, but I don’t have one, nor would I know where to start, so eh

Context for those who don’t know what I’m talking about: basically Optimus and Megatron are both not the leaders of their factions, rather just commanders, and also the Autobots and Decepticons are supposed to be more grey, but I haven’t figured out how

Okay, so on to Starscream ideas I had last night

Basically, he’s a much older bot than Megatron, one with a lot of military experience, but who was assigned to Megatron’s squadron as his subordinate. This is mostly because I like the concept of an older Starscream that TF One has now introduced

Starscream’s kind of pissed about this assigning, thinking he should be the one leading the squadron instead of this much younger, more inexperienced and hotheaded bot. There might also be the idea he considers himself superior due to being able to fly while this Megatron doesn’t have a flight alt mode

But unfortunately, Megatron has him beat in a one on one fight, the majority of the squadron prefers Megatron over Starscream, and their superiors probably wouldn’t take kindly to him usurping command, so he mostly just grumbles and tries to undermine Megatron’s authority

Megatron doesn’t really like him either, seeing him as this old geezer (okay he might not be that old but he’s definitely notably older than Megatron) that keeps thinking he’s better than him because he’s older and complaining about how he can do better, and yet is of a much weaker character, being self centered and cowardly. How self centered and cowardly Starscream actually is might not be accurate, or he has reasons as to why he’s like this, but it’s exacerbated in Megatron’s mind. But he also can’t deny that Starscream is quite experienced in military strategy and tactics and is objectively quite the capable fighter, so he keeps him around as his second in command

Potentially later down the line, these two could grow to tolerate each other more and maybe even respect one another

And yeah, I think those are my ideas for Starscream in this potential story. I just thought it sounded neat and wanted to share
