i wanted to write a blurb inspired by this scene so i did🤭 girlhood!
domestic violence, dad!rafe
You were awoken by the sound of your daughters cries, loud and incessant. It was Rafe's turn — his night to take care of the midnight tantrums.
But a brief feel on his side of the bed told you he'd left the spot not too long ago, the sheets still slightly warm. You edged one eye open, making sure that he wasn't there before sighing and throwing the covers off of yourself.
Trotting over to the cradle where your three-month old daughter laid, throwing a fit, you shushed her. Picking the infant up out of the structure to rock her calmly, her cries dying out.
Once she was tame enough, you laid her in the automated rocker to be able to leave the room and make her a bottle, hopefully finding your husband on the way there.
One foot out of the bedroom door told you he was in the living room, the light radiating down the hall. You rolled your eyes, taking swift, angry steps towards the living area until you were right next to Rafe — the man on his knees, sniffing a line of coke in nothing but a tank-top and sweatpants.
He made a quick side-glance in your direction but continued his recreational activities. The mere disregard for your presence made you angry, angry enough that you snatched the credit card he was using to separate the lines from his hand, blowing the remaining drugs off of the table.
He stood up swiftly, looming over you with angry eyes. "The fuck are you doin'?" He spat, reaching for the card in your hand only for you to snatch it away further.
"What the fuck are you doing?" You retorted. "Did you not hear your daughter crying? Or your lines just couldn't wait?"
"I was gonna get her eventually-"
"After you'd ingested a crackhead's year supply of coke?"
"You're being...dramatic." He rolled his eyes, motioning for the item still clutched between your fingers. "Just give me my shit back, alright?"
"No." You said sternly, turning on your heel to head for the kitchen when a fist grabbed a handful of your hair, neck craning dangerously as Rafe used the hold to yank you against his chest.
"Give it to me." He growled against your ear, snatching the card from your hand and roughly shoving you away. "You already blew half my shit off the table..." He muttered. "I was gonna make her a bottle after, you just had to go and throw a fuckin' tantrum. Maybe you're the one who needs the bottle..."
"What I need is a husband who doesn't act like he has shit for brains."
"You wanna say that shit again?" He challenged, stepping into your space.
"What, so you can hit me? Go ahead, you can put it in the same spot as last time. Or are you trying to fill up the whole canvas?" You snarked.
You knew you regretted it when his free hand wound around your neck, squeezing tightly. Your own hand went up, desperately clawing at his. He used his hold on your neck to push you up against the nearest wall. "Watch that mouth of yours or it'll be the next thing I hit you in? You understand?"
You reluctantly nodded, as much as you could, taking in an appreciative gulp of air as he released you and let you slide to the floor, breathing heavily and clawing at the wooden tiles. You didn't notice that a couple stray tears had left your eyes until they hit the floor.
"Get yourself together and feed my daughter." He demanded, dismissing your distress. "Don't you hear her crying?"

Mommy Knows Best
Chapter 1
Rebecca Sullivan plugged in the vacuum cleaner and set about cleaning the master bedroom. As she pushed the vacuum to reach under the bed, she hit something she wasn’t expecting. She quickly turned off the vacuum and got down on her hands and knees to investigate. Looking under the bedframe, she discovered a box she had not seen before. She pulled out and looked inside. To her complete surprise it was a full of baby supplies. There were bottles and pacifiers, diapers and onesies. But something was odd. No baby was big enough to fit into any of the diapers. They were huge. She unfolded a baby blue onesie and held it up. She thought to herself my god this would fit a grown man. Is my husband secretly a baby? Is this why he has never wanted to have kids? What the hell? She left the set the box on the bed and returned to cleaning up the bedroom. Brian would be home soon and would have some explaining to do.
He threw his briefcase in the passenger seat and hopped in his car. He ran his hands through is hair, tired and stressed out. All he wanted to do was get home to wife and have a quiet Friday night in. Brian worked for a major marketing company. It was a great paying job, but he often worked long hours, sometimes well into the evening. The stress could just be too much at times. He turned on the radio, rolled the windows down and tried to forget about his work as he drove home. A short drive later and he was rolling into his garage. He stepped out and cast a glance at all the power tools sitting on the shelf. These were all the things that made him feel like a man. Things that made him try and ignore the child that dwelled within. He hoped that by doing all the things guys are supposed to like, he could hide the secret that he still yearned to be little, to be cared for. He loved his wife dearly and had tried so many times to tell her, but every time he tried, his nerves failed him. They had been together for ten years. They had built a life together. He had climbed the ladder in his company which afforded him all the luxuries of life he wanted Rebecca to have. In providing for them both, maybe that childish fantasy would go away. But yet, he still fantasized that one day, she would make him her baby. However that was a fantasy and this was real life. He took a deep breath and walked into the house.
As he stepped through the threshold, he noticed the pleasant aroma of dinner. Rebecca heard the door opened and turned around with a bright smile. It was the smile that had smitten him all those years ago. She embraced him in a warm hug, kissing him on the cheek. “There is my big, hardworking man. Come sit and I will get you a drink sweetheart. Dinner is just about ready.” Brian didn’t object, sitting at the table and took a big sip of the Jack and Coke she placed in front of him. “My god honey, I needed a drink. It was just meeting after meeting. I’m pretty sure my brain has turned to mush. I’m going to try and forget about work until Monday,” Brian lamented. She soon retuned with their plates and the two enjoyed their dinner. He soon finished his drink and she quicky poured him another. “After dinner sweetheart, let me take care of you. Let me help my baby boy relax and unwind, she said in a syrupy sweet tone. He was a bit taken aback by “baby boy,” but he was too tired to really care.
“Here sweetheart, have one more drink and go sit in your comfy chair while I clean up. I will come get you when I’m ready for you.” Ready for what he thought. “Um ok, honey. Thank you for making such a wonderful dinner. I am so lucky that I have you to take care of me,” he replied. She smiled and said, “Of course.” Brian walked into his den and plopped down into his favorite chair. The drinks were starting to kick and soon he was nodding off to sleep. “Is my baby boy sleepy?” she asked while caressing his hand. He opened his eyes and mumbled some apology for falling asleep. “Its ok baby boy. Come with me and we will get you all cozy.” She led him by his hand back to their bedroom. His grogginess soon turned to panic when he laid eyes on his box sitting on the bed. Oh god. I am so fucked. I have no way to get out of this now. He chest grew tight and he felt like he might be sick. For decades, he had managed to keep his secret quiet. Rebecca quickly sensed his apprehension and squeezed his hand. “It’s ok sweetheart, trust me. Everything is all ok. There is no need to scare. I know my big man needs to be taken care of,” she said with such a maternal tone. “Now lay down on the bed for me. You don’t need to say anything. I know you want this. Brian, I know you want to be a baby, I found all of your stuff. I am not mad, I promise. You know I have wanted a baby for years. And maybe that time is here.” Rebecca looked down on him, seeing his eyes dart all over the room. He was scared. She knew he was filled with guilt and embarrassment. Brian thrived on being able to take care of her. “I want to be able to do this for you, but this is the only time I will make this offer. So if you want to accept this, you don’t need to say anything. All you need to do is place your thumb in your mouth and start sucking and mommy will know that you are going to be her little baby boy.”
Brian closed his eyes, as tears rolled down his cheeks. He felt horrified and excited all at the same time. His heart was racing. What do I do? This is my only chance. This is what you have always wanted. Trust her and let go. You need this. He opened his eyes and looked at his wife’s smiling face. He took a deep breath and slowly curled his fingers into his palm. He lifted his hand to his face and placed his thumb in his mouth. There he did it. Rebecca beamed, “Oh mommy is going to take such good care of my baby.” She slowly unbuttoned his shirt and then moved onto his pants. She removed all of his clothes until he was lying completely naked on the bed. She reached into the box and produced his pacifier, “I know you want your binky honey.” Returning to the box, she pulled out one of his diapers. “Get that sweet little tushy up baby,” as she slid the diaper under his bottom. The smell of baby powder seemed to put him in a trance as he sucked harder on his pacifier. She taped up the diaper, making sure it was secure. She kissed his exposed belly and then climbed up onto her side of the bed. “Come here cutie. Let me hold my baby.” He quickly complied with her demand. He laid his head on her chest, feeling her soft bosom. He let out a sigh and melted into her. He was now her baby. A tear escaped her. She had her baby. But she wasn’t content to just pretend. If she was going to be a real mommy, he needed to be a real baby. She ran her fingers through his hair and floated off to sleep.

𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫
Part One Part Two.
Angst
Luke Castellan x Apollo!fem!reader
warnings: underage alcohol use, minor injuries, angst, denying feelings, surprise kisses
Summary: you and Luke go to a party and some things happen while you’re under the influence.
Parties were secret affairs at Camp Half-Blood.
Well, secret from Chiron, the one who would put an end to them. Mr D. could usually be convinced by one of his children to keep quiet if a dash of something alcoholic was poured into his Diet Coke. Once curfew had passed and all the younger children had been safely and snugly tucked in and Chiron and Mr D. had retreated to Big House, all those involved would gather in one of the emptier cabins that had older campers. The Hypnos kids would place a sleeping spell on the younger kids that belonged to the cabin hosting the party.
And then the fun would begin.
The alcoholic beverage supply was not immense, but there was enough provided from older Hermes campers to get, well, severely wasted.
Luke knew that path hadn’t been your initial idea, but you were well on your way there.
He on the other hand, hadn’t drank that much, stopping after he noticed just how much you had been drinking.
You weren’t usually like this. As a daughter of Apollo you were intelligent and responsible, a trusted head counsellor and a masterful healer. It was usually he causing mischief and getting hurt, and you patching him up and reprimanding him.
How the roles had reversed. Instead of your modest camp uniform and demeanour, you were in ripped jeans and a striped tank top and had converted into an absolute entertainer, lighting up the room. You weren’t acting like a semi-rowdy nineteen year old anymore, but a fully-wild twenty-five year old college student. He wished he was as drunk as you, because it seemed you were having the time of your life from how enthusiastically you were laughing with a random Ares girl you had traded drinks with.
Instead he was the only vaguely sober one in a crowd of drunk late teens playing inappropriate games or dancing. It wasn’t fun anymore.
The games were the only thing that kept him there.
“Ok… y/n,” one of your sisters - he couldn’t tell in the dim light, Apollo children all looked golden - drawled, pointing insistently to you. “Do a dare or spin the bottle!”
He observed as you appeared to think, contemplative as you sipped beer - gods you needed to stop drinking, please - before reaching for the glass bottle on the floor. The small crowd cheered and squatted in a wonky circle, Luke joining them and sighing lightly.
He hated this game. Hated how you would happily kiss anyone. He wished in these moments that he did have the courage to talk to you, to tell you how he felt and sweep you off your feet. And then it would be him you would kiss and hold hands with, and he would take care of you and do anything to make you laugh.
But instead you kissed others.
Finally, after a few clumsy grasps of the bottle, you drunkenly clutched it before giving it a rough spin. It whirled around and around noisily, colours shining off of it, and at that moment he loathed that gleaming glass neck, loathed it with a passion for pointing at everyone but him-
For not-
Pointing at him.
At him.
And by some miracle, by some grace from the Gods, it was pointing at him.
His heart raced wildly and he struggled to breathe as he glanced up at you. You were already looking at him. Your eyes looked golden in the light, and your hair covered most of your face, hiding your expression. He inhaled and exhaled shakily, hoping to calm down as he waited for your move.
You stayed still.
Still.
Still.
Maybe this was awkward for you, he suddenly realised, panicking. After all he was your best friend, of course it was weird to kiss your best friend. In fact you were probably waiting for him to call it off, but he’d taken so long to understand, he was an idiot.
“It’s o-okay,” he stuttered, cursing himself, “you don’t-“
You pounced at him, your lips smashing together. Immediately his mind went blank. It was burning, passionate, fierce, and somehow infinitely better than anything he’d ever guiltily dreamed about as he lay awake. He noticed vaguely that you’d landed in his lap and wrapped your arms aggressively around his neck. He was much more preoccupied by your lips, how they moved against his perfectly. How when you were this close to him, you smelled like chocolate chip cookies. How your lips and mouth and tongue tastes like flawless hot spun sugar. How you were into this, and into him. How all of his dreams had come true and maybe this wasn’t a terrible night.
And then you dragged a hand through his curls and it felt so good he had to fight not to groan, ugh.
“Get some, Castellan!”
“Something’s getting a little hot in here.”
And this meant nothing, he realised suddenly as the catcalls continued, his thoughts returning. Because this was all an act, something to impress the others and make them laugh from your boldness. Luke was just the pawn, something to elevate you higher-
He felt sick, his lips slowing, before stopping completely, pulling away from you. He faked a weak smile, drawing his face further away from yours and avoiding eye contact. He didn’t want to see the drunken humour in your eyes.
“Ok, your turn next!!” Someone yelled, and it was all over.
——————————————
So it stayed, an almost torturous existence before he noticed your eyelids drooping as you sleepily accepted the Ares girl’s shot glass. And finally, finally, he had an excuse to get out of this hellhole.
He walked over, dodging campers all around, before he approached, putting a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“Hey, y/n,” he said softly, “I think we should get outta here. You seem kinda tired and so am I.”
“How did you know that?!” You asked incredulously, spinning around to him in shock.
“That you were tired?”
“Yeah!”
“Oh,” he chuckled awkwardly, “your eyes are all droopy, it’s kinda obvious.”
“Huh. Well, y’know what, I kinda agree. Let’s go.” You shrugged, waving to the Ares girl as you walked with him. You linked arms and he tried to act normal. You two never shared this much casual contact.
“What’s her name?” Luke asked, focusing on his surroundings, as you walked out the door.
“I have no idea,” you replied cheerily, breaking from him and taking a leap off the step. It didn’t end well, with you tripping and falling in a heap on the damp and cold grass.
“Are you ok?” He asked, knelt over you and concerned. You giggled, nodding and accepting his hand as it pulled you up.
“Ok, just- let me- hold onto me, ok?” He said, looping an arm around your shoulder to keep you steady. He held on as you laughed like a little girl and clung to his t-shirt all the way to your cabin.
The stars were nice tonight. For once, you could see them, like billions of shimmering white dots in the skies and it really added to the peace of the scenery. The air was cooler, there were no people, and it was so much quieter. More serene. He felt as if he could breathe. He glanced at the stars once more as he led you up the stairs to your door, before dropping your hand. Or trying to. You didn’t let go.
“Good night,” he whispered, giving your hand a squeeze and trying again.
Your grip wouldn’t loosen.
“Luke,” you murmured breathlessly, stepping forward, bringing your joined hands to your chest. He could feel your breath, warmth, pulse. Fast. Like his. “Why are you….”
“What?”
You looked as if you were going to say more, but couldn’t find the words, instead stepping even closer, and he could feel your joined hands compressed between your two chests. His chest was still, his breathing completely halted as your eyes observed him delicately, his eyes, nose, scar, jawline, cheeks, mouth, as if he was a priceless painting.
You met him once again.
It was softer this time. Your lips still moved in sync, but it was sweeter, calmer. If the other kiss had been caramel, this was smooth, gorgeous honey. As if you had all the time in the world to dazzle him with your smooth kisses. You probably did. Your hands were slower as well, leaving warm trails all over as they made their way down his back, over his sides and under his shirt, where your fingers traced the hard contours of his chest. He had to restrain the urge to shiver violently at your touch.
You pulled away a fraction, warm breath hitting his lips. “Come inside. Stay over.” You panted against them.
He wanted to. Tiptoeing in with a smile on his face and crawling into your bed, with you beside him? His dream. Being tangled in your bedsheets, waking up with every limb of yours and his twisted together, and your hair splayed over his chest? His Elysium.
But you were drunk, deeply drunk. And if he was ever lucky enough to experience any of that, he wanted to have the real event, where alcohol didn’t influence your willingness. He wanted you to be sober.
“I can’t.” He withdrew from you, out of reach. “You’re drunk and I don’t think you know what you’re talking about.”
“What do you mean?”
“Y/N, I’m your best friend, you don’t like me that way. You’re just drunk.”
“Yeah. Like super drunk.” You affirmed, nodding enthusiastically. “But that doesn’t change anything. I like you sooo much-“
No. Luke wouldn’t hear this. After liking - maybe even loving - you for this long, your drunk, confused notions would hurt him too much. He refused to listen.
“C’mon let’s get you to bed so your hangovers not too bad.” He interrupted, taking your arm and leading you into the cabin. “We’ll talk about this later.”
Needless to say, you would never talk about it again if it was up to him.
He left quickly, once you were tucked in, before you could give him a response, with a hurried ‘goodnight’.
Once he was tucked comfortably in his own bunk in cabin 11, he pondered the night’s events. A whole lot of drinking. Stupid games. Not one, but two kisses. Even if they meant… nothing. They were nice either way, and probably the only two he would ever get from you.
————————————————-
The next day, he admitted, was a disaster on his behalf.
He’d had a strong plan to pretend nothing had ever happened. And then while he was getting dressed, four of his siblings wolf-whistled and smirked when they saw him. Clearly not something everyone had forgotten.
And when he saw you at breakfast, wincing slightly and looking drowsy, the moment your eyes had flashed to his, all he could think about were the kisses. He couldn’t see straight, and stumbled while he grasped his breakfast tray, and before he knew it, he hadn’t even said hello to you.
The avoidance gradually increased. After breakfast, he steered clear of you, going straight to his class with younger demigods. He didn’t make an effort to accompany an injured camper to visit you, instead sending one of their friends with them. And during lunch, where he’d usually visit you at the infirmary and bring food, he stayed at Hermes table, with nervous feet rooted to the floor.
He could tell by dinner, you were confused, hurt even, from the glances you were sending to him. And he wanted to go over, make it up to you by sitting beside you and telling you one of the Stoll’s latest schemes, but he just couldn’t bring himself to do so. It was like he was a shy toddler all over again, clinging to his mother’s leg, and he was so embarrassed for it.
That night, he swore the next day he would be better about everything. Be honest, available and just see how things would go from there. You guys had been through anything. Surely you couldn’t let each other down for this.
He woke early, with a clear mind and went to retrieve breakfast for him and you. Finding you in the infirmary, rolling bandages, he took a deep inhale before stepping in, ready.
“Hey,” he greeted, cringing a little at himself as you dropped the bandage in surprise, and watching as it rolled all over the umber planks in white streaks.
“Oh, uh, hey,” you replied, scrambling to pick it up and sending him a distracted smile. Not the greatest start, but he could improve.
“Sorry I haven’t been around. Been busy, around the place with new campers, y’know,” he lied, feeling guilty, “funny, haven’t actually seen you since we-“
“Hung out at the party?” You interrupted, nodding.
What? Hanging out? Just hanging out did not qualify ignoring him till the party was over and then two kisses and an almost-confession.
Unless you didn’t want to acknowledge the truth. Apparently, this was the case.
“…. Yeah.” He hesitantly agreed, searching your eyes for any signs you might want to take back what you said.
You wouldn’t even meet them.
“Anyway,” he placed the plate down on the bench, faking a smile, “here’s breakfast. Have a great day.”
And as he walked out, disappointed that you had let him down, he couldn’t help but wonder how things would’ve turned out differently if you had been sober.
How he wished you had been sober.

I’ve never understood why we shoot off fireworks in the USA for the 4th, I just feel like it could trigger some of our veterans and it makes me feel awful! Could you write something like this with Buck?
hello! 💖 in my country we only shoot them on new year's eve but since I own two cats, I hate them 😡 one of my cats is so terrified each time that he literally has spasms 😥 the older he gets, the more worried I am each new year's eve tbh 😐 anyway, thank you for your request! 🎆 I was actually thinking of something like this with Buck!
I had to close my requests for now because I got so many 🙏🏻
It was the first Independence Day after the war and you were excited that you would celebrate it with your husband for the first time in two years. Especially now, after the victory, it felt more special than ever.
You decided to throw a barbecue for your befriended neighbours and you had been preparing the house and the garden for the whole week – putting up decorations with Buck’s help and cleaning everything. In the last two days you had also been busy with cooking meals and preparing salads while Buck had been supplying your fridge with everything needed for the barbecue – all sorts of meat, vegetables and sodas.
The only thing you hadn’t bought were the fireworks. You wanted to save some money, especially after hearing that different neighbours down the street were preparing a real show anyway. Surprisingly, Buck had agreed to that pretty quickly although you had expected him to try to convince you to get your own fireworks. Not because he had ever been a big fan of them but he never liked it when you were using the “saving money” argument. Whenever you would use it in different situations – like deciding whether to buy a dress or not – he would say “if it makes you happy, we can afford that”. And he knew very well that this barbecue party was making you happy.
However, you didn’t ask about it because it didn’t seem to be significant enough and you completely forgot about it anyway, too busy with all the preparations.
The barbecue started in the afternoon and the weather was beautiful on that day – clear, blue skies above you, giving you a perfect view of the fireworks here and there in the distance. You were handing the bottles of beer and coke to the guests while Buck was in charge of the barbecue when one of the neighbours asked a question that made you freeze.
“Damn, it’s like back there again, is it not?” He chuckled at Buck.
His name was Frank and he had been to Europe as well but not as a pilot. He was obviously referring to the fireworks in the background as he tried to turn it into a joke but his wife Helen hissed at him.
You suddenly realised that the sound of fireworks was not the same to everyone and you looked at your husband, worried. He might have seemed to be pretty alright after the horrors he had endured but you knew him better than everyone else and you knew. You knew about his nightmares and panic attacks. They were rare but they still were happening, sometimes triggered by the things you had never thought of before as threatening. Like with the fireworks.
“I don’t pay attention to them,” Buck gave Frank a kind smile. “My brain just shuts the sound off at this point,” he explained and he seemed to be genuine in his answer, which made you sigh in relief.
You went back to handing out the sodas and glanced at the watch on your hand. It was half an hour until the fireworks show promised by the neighbours living down the street.
When everyone had a bottle of their chosen beverage already, you joined your husband’s side to help him with the meat and vegetables. Rubbing his arm softly and laughing at the jokes being told by the others, you felt happy and satisfied with your life. Finally, after such a long time, it was back to normal, you thought. Well, nearly.
Everyone was sitting by the table in your garden and talking when you realised you had forgotten to bring mustard and ketchup.
“I’ll get it,” Buck smiled at you and stood up.
“Grab me a can of coke from the fridge, too, darling,” you told him and he nodded before disappearing inside the house.
A short moment later, the fireworks show started. Your neighbours living down the street had to spend a real fortune on it because the fireworks were many and very, very loud. You gasped and watched in awe as others stood up and cheered.
You, Helen and Frank were the only ones left sitting by the table. From the corner of your eye, you spotted that Frank’s face changed. He was no longer smiling and his skin lost some of its colour. Helen was squeezing his shaky hands and whispering something to him.
A very loud firework made you flinch while others screamed out of joy and Frank jumped on his seat. You stood up rapidly, realising that Buck hadn’t come back from the house yet.
“Helen, listen,” you leaned in to talk to her despite the noise. “You can go inside with Frank, it’s okay,” you assured her.
“Thank you,” she mouthed out with gratitude in her eyes before urging him to stand up and follow her inside.
You, however, weren’t waiting for them because you were rushing to the house yourself. You froze at the sight of your husband sitting by the kitchen table and hiding his face in his shaky hands. In fact, his whole body trembled and there was a broken bottle of mustard in the middle of the floor. He had to drop it when the fireworks show started.
Your heart broke at the sight. Your Buck was the strongest and the bravest man you knew. You would always go to him when you needed comfort or help because he was so capable of making everything – everything – better. He was good at fixing things in the physical sense but he was also always comforting you with his kindness and calm nature. He would never panic about anything and you had always admired him for that.
In moments like this, you felt helpless because you couldn’t take his pain away. And if you could, you would. He had already suffered so much that from now on, you’d rather suffer for him. But you were also angry – angry at the war for taking place and breaking him so much.
“Darling…” You started slowly and crouched down in front of him, carefully, trying not to startle him. He didn’t seem to acknowledge your presence, though. “Darling…” You repeated and put your hands on his trembling thighs.
He flinched and you shushed him while tears streamed down your cheeks.
“Shh, shh, baby, it’s me, it’s okay, you’re home,” you tried to soothe him. “You’re with me now, you’re safe,” you assured but it was not working.
You took a deep breath in and moved up now, to stand above him. You put your hands on Buck’s ears, trying to shield him away from the noise coming from the outside. And then, gently, you pulled his face closer to you and pressed it to your tummy. You leaned in to kiss the top of his head and whisper sweet nothings that were supposed to calm him down and after a while it seemed to be working. You could feel his muscles relaxing and eventually he stopped hiding his face in his hands and wrapped his arms around your waist instead, clinging to you like a little boy.
When the fireworks show stopped and it was quiet again, you moved your hands away from Buck’s ears and began to rub his back soothingly instead.
“It’s alright now, baby, you’re home with me. I won’t let anything bad happen to you,” you promised in a whisper, sniffing back your own tears.
Buck looked up at you with teary eyes and you cupped his face to wipe his tears off of his cheeks with your thumbs. You let your fingers trace his scars and your lower lip trembled. Not that you minded those scars – not at all – but they were yet another reminder of what horrors he had been through. And he was just a man – as weak and scared as everyone else; only forced to be brave.
You understood now why he was scared of having a son with you one day. He was scared of another war coming sooner or later and he was scared of his own child going through what he had gone through.
You feared that, too. And you didn’t even fully know what had happened in Europe. Only the men who had been there knew. Women – especially those who had stayed back home – they would never understand.
“Are you back with me now, my love?” You asked, gently. Buck nodded after a while of hesitation.
“Sorry ‘bout the mustard,” he mumbled out and you chuckled as you shook your head.
“It doesn’t matter, darling,” you assured him.
But you were grateful that Buck’s panic attacks were like that. Perhaps it was wrong to be grateful for such things but you had heard enough stories of triggered men who would do much worse things while having panic attacks.
“I’m sorry…” He breathed out as fresh tears pricked his eyes.
“Don’t,” you interrupted him as you crouched down again and held his hands now to squeeze them tight. “Don’t, Gale, please, don’t ever apologise for that,” you pleaded and he looked down.
“I didn’t expect them to be so loud and so… Close. I… I suddenly wasn’t in our kitchen anymore but back in the air, up in the fort and the Germans were shooting at us and I was trying to focus on flying but deep down I was just… I was just praying to get back home to you and all I could see was your face when they tell you I’m dead and…” He started and you pursed your lips to stop your own tears from falling.
“I know, baby, I know. But it’s over now, yes? You’re back home with me, safe and sound,” you reminded him and leaned in to place a kiss upon one of his hands.
You heard footsteps behind you. It was Helen peeking inside shyly. You turned around to shake your head at her and she gave you an understanding look before walking out without a word.
“Let’s clean up now, yes?” You let go of Buck’s hands and fixed your hair before standing up clumsily.
You occupied yourself with cleaning the mess from the broken mustard bottle and Buck washed his face with cold water in the kitchen sink. You handed him some of the paper towels you were using so he could dry his face.
“You’ve missed the fireworks show because of me,” he pointed out.
“God damn those fireworks shows, Buck!” You exclaimed. “God damn them. I don’t want to see any ever again. I’m sorry that I didn't think that it would… That it would scare you like that,” you apologised.
“Well, it takes time to come to terms with the fact that your husband is a coward now,” Buck sighed and so did you, while throwing the used paper towels into the trash bin aggressively.
“My husband is not a coward and has never been. However, that self-pity attitude is new to me,” you told him and he turned his head around to look at you. “My husband is the bravest man I know,” you added. “He is my hero. And I don’t allow you to talk about him this way, you hear me? I have defended him from all the women in town telling me that men in the captive camps were no real heroes and I will defend him from you, too, when you’re so mean to him, Buck, I mean it.”
“Stop, or I’ll cry again,” he shook his head and sniffled.
There was a hint of a smile on his face and it made you grin as well before you approached him and wrapped your arms around him to hug him tight.
“I love my wife, too. The most in the whole wide world,” he assured you and hugged you back while pressing his lips to the top of your head but you could still understand his words. “I wasn’t brave, really, I wasn’t. I just did everything it took to come back to you.”

hey hun!! for your 500 followers celebration could you do 📝, of a scenario in which joel comes home to find you all cramped up and in pain since you began your period and he decides to be the comforting little man and cuddles you to death??
(no pressure!! 🥰🤗)
-vii💗💗
Joel: Period Master
18+, but mostly fluff
Joel Miller x Fem!Reader
AN: Thank you sweet Viv for this ask. This is based in the Little Dove universe, but Sarah and Ellie are teenagers and living at home. 💋 also, I 100% did not edit or proof read this. Sorry!
Joel has had a long ass day. A joke of a day really. First the concrete was late, then someone broke the powered wheelbarrow so they were moving gravel by hand. Then it started raining and they scrambled to cover everything, the job site soon became a muddy mess. He’s desperately looking forward to a hot shower and a glass of whiskey.
He pulls into the garage to see your vehicle already parked, which is strange since you had plans with a friend for after work drinks.
He trudges from the truck to the back door, mud still breaking off his work boots along the shiny concrete floor of the garage. He toes them off before heading into the back entry. Your heels are tossed on the floor, work bag and jacket haphazardly placed on the bench.
“Babe?” He calls from the back door, walking around to the family room to find his two daughters curled up on the couches.
“Hi girls. Where’s your mom?”
They both shoot daggers from their eyes, Ellie clutching the blanket tighter around herself and Sarah flipping the ice pack that’s draped across the back of her neck.
Shit, already that time.
The joys of living with all women….they’ve synced up. His usually sweet teenagers daughters turn extra moody, but Joel is the supporter of this family in every way, so he is always prepared for this time each month. Sarah, usually the sweet tooth, needs salt and chocolate milk. Ellie, usually the salty one, needs Diet Coke and green gummy frogs. All things Joel keeps tucked up in a cupboard, or in the back of the beer fridge in the garage.
He sneaks quietly back into the living room, putting the emergency supplies for the girls down on the coffee table as they watch Dirty Dancing.
Ellie looks up at him with sad eyes, tears welling in the corners. “Thanks, dad.”
He crouches down beside her and rubs her lower back through the big fuzzy blanket she’s cocooned in. “You’re welcome, kiddo. Do you need anything else?”
Sarah’s head pops up from her couch, “Mom’s not doing well. You should go be with her.”
He kisses both his daughters on the foreheads, taking a big breath before walking down the hall to your bedroom. Nothing in this world breaks his heart more than seeing you in pain. He knows some months can be worse than others, he knows about the bloating and the large clots you deal with. He knows that you can be insatiably hungry one minute and throwing up the next. He knows that your cramps can have you on the floor in the matter of seconds most of the time.
He opens the door as quietly as possible, finding you curled in a tight ball under the down filled duvet, just your hair peaking out the top. The room is stifling hot, the air almost thick, it feels like being in Phoenix in July as he pads over to the bed.
“Baby?” He whispers, carefully climbing up beside you, trying not to disturb you. A lesson he learned a few years ago when you had finally gotten comfortable, only to be brought to big crocodile tears when he moved a pillow that was tucked against your back.
A sad groaning whine leaves your throat as his large palm dips under the blanket to cup your forehead. “Sweetie, you’re burning up.”
“I’m freezing,” you whine, pulling the big blanket tighter around you.
“Ok, baby girl. I’m here now,” he says, standing and stripping down to his boxers briefs. You peek your eyes over the blanket, watching the way his strong body flexes and relaxes, the muscles ripping as he moves. The summer sun has tanned his arms a beautiful golden brown.
He wanders around to lay behind you. “Let me in, honey.”
You let go of the blanket so he can slip under, his warmth immediately sinking into you, heating your sore and achy body all the way to the bone. “You’re practically naked under here, Little Dove.”
You sink back into his heat. “Don’t look, I’m wearing the worst granny panties and one of those super pads.”
His hands trail around your slides, a large palm resting on the very bottom of your belly where the cramps are, hand sliding under the band of your incredibly unattractive panties. “You’re sexy to me no matter what you wear.”
Joel begins kneading the muscles of your lower abdomen, simulating the contracting of your uterus and the pain begins to ease. You moan and relax more into your perfect man.
“That feel good?” He says in a deep, gravel filled whisper.
“Mm-hmmm,” you hum, closing your eyes and finally feeling relief from the debilitating cramps.
Joel pulls you in tighter and kisses your shoulder. “I’m sorry you’re suffering, baby. I’m going to take care of you. Anything you need, I’ll do it or get it.”
“DAAAAAAD!!” Sarah and Ellie call in unison from the couch. “PIZZAAAA!!!”
You snort a little laugh. Poor Joel, having to deal with all these uterus’s.
“Pizza party?” You ask.
“Anything for my girls.” He hums, stubble grazing the shell of your ear.
“Anything?” You say mischievously.
“You’re not painting my toe nails again”
“Damn. I have this new hot pink that I think would really suit you,” you tease.
Joel’s quiet for a moment, still kneading the muscles absentmindedly, but with incredible care and precision. “I’ll lend you my favourite sweats and t shirt if you stay away from my toes.”
“Deal,” you say with a wince.
“What’s wrong?” Joel says, pulling you onto your back so he can look you over. Concern etching his eyebrows.
You reach up and rub the creases spot with your thumb, his eyes meeting yours. “Butt hole cramp,” you say flatly.
Joel smirks down at you, at this angle your swollen, heavy breasts are on display for him. “Want me to kiss it better?”
“You’re a menace, Joel Miller. And our daughters will riot if we don’t get them pizza soon.”
Joel lends you his clothes and helps you get dressed before sliding on his jeans and t shirt. He kisses your forehead and helps you to the lazy boy chair, brining your king sized duvet with him to wrap you up.
“I’ll be back with pizza,” he says to the group.
As soon as he’s out of ear shot Ellie pipes up, “do you think if we play this up we can get him to let us paint his toe nails again?”

i cannot stress this enough but Daniel being turned, for him, is like being granted the world's biggest supply of top tier coke with no consequence at all for him or his health at all. an addict's dream. addict utopia. for someone who has been clean for years, the promise of an eternal high with no comedown. do you understand how PERHAPS he might feel like a God?
and before you say that killing people is the comedown, the unfortunate consequence, i think we should remember that daniel 1) isn't a good guy 2) didn't particularly like people before and 3) at the moment would do anything to chase the eternal high because that's what addicts do.
He's a natural at vampirism because vampirism is inherently predatory (kind of like investigative journalism; and kind of like bullying - which Daniel enjoys!) and at the same time parasitic (which Daniel doesn't have a problem with, given his past history). Daniel is a great vampire.
Like sure, I bet he'll have his remorse and his eventual moral center shine through at some point, but he'll never experience the guilt Louis or Armand feel. He's not this kind of person.
Choosing whom he drinks will always be a dietary choice for him more than a moral one imo. Killing assholes will just make the hunt spicier because he'll enjoy besting them, humiliating them by using them as fuel. There's no moral stance, he's just an asshole who really likes knocking bullies (which he also is!) down a peg.
I'd even argue he's dickish enough to purposefully eat people with harmless characteristics he personally doesnt like. He's the type of vampire to eat that poor headphones guy because he "looked like an idiot".

Gravity Falls: For Your Own Good, Ch. 4
Summary: A few years after moving to Gravity Falls and having his lab built, Stanford Pines happens upon his estranged twin brother, Stanley. He mentally prepared himself to be suffocated by his brothers neediness all over again - what he wasn't prepared for was Stanley walking right past him like he didn't even notice him.
Rating: M for language, violence, and adult implications
Preface: Dialogue only, but some actions will be annotated for clarity. Cross-Posted on AO3 Here

CH.4
"If we’re going to get to the pit of this peach we gotta get some variables outta the way first. I need a scan of his brain and yours. While conscious.”
“Mine as well?”
“You said he’s your identical twin - he should be genetically the same as you. We can use a scan of your brain as a comparison to see if there’s physical damage on the organ itself, because brain damage is the most common cause of amnesia.”
“I do have the technology available for an in-depth scan, but… ”
“But what?”
“It’s in the shape of a ray gun, but like a traditional MRI whoever is getting scanned has to stay completely still.”
“I don’t s’pose in the time it took me to go into town and get supplies, you managed to reconcile with him?”
“Reconcile? He’s still convinced I’m a mad scientist out to harvest his organs, 'or worse turn him over to the IRS'- don’t ask about that second part. If I point anything gun-shaped at him, he’ll freak out.”
“Can’t say I blame him…”
“Hush, Fiddleford. There’s an easy way we can get him to hold still.”
“Stanford- Stanford put the tranquilizing doohickey away. We both know that concoction of yours wasn’t formulated with humans in mind. Surely you have less caustic means of sedation.”
---
“Stanford, anyone can tell that bottle’s been tampered with.”
“I have a theory that this persona of his is so self-destructive he’ll still drink it.”
“Y’know, this bottled water tastes suspiciously like two crushed Ambien tablets.”
*Stan keeps drinking it anyways*
“I am impressed, but I also hate that your theory was correct.”
*Ford undeafens the cell*
“Stanley, if you think there’s zolpidem in that, why are you still drinking it?”
“You think two Ambien is enough to take me down? Guess again, I’ve used this stuff to cut coke. You’re gonna have to try harder than that, PhD.”
“Hmm, so we should have used Coca-Cola instead of water…”
“That ain’t what he meant by- how did you survive by yourself out here?”
---
“Hello there …Stan?”
“Sup babe.”
“Don’t call me that. I was wondering - you’re so handsome already, but it’d surely tickle my fancy a bit more if you put on this here necktie.”
“Hell no.”
“Do you not know how to tie one? I’d be happy to-.”
“I know how to tie a tie, specs. But I’ll never wear a necktie ever again. Not after Colombia… I still can’t shave that part of my jaw without nightmares.”
“I beg your pardon?”
---
“I couldn’t convince him to put the mind control tie on.”
“Fiddleford, why are you staring a thousand yards away?”
“He was explaining to me his time in Colombian prison, then he went on a tangent about necklaces and now I don’t think I can change a tire without thinking about it ever again.”
“... Interesting. We’re not resorting to the tranq gun yet?”
“This is your own brother you’re talking about.”
“There’s only one thing we can do. The only thing that will 99.99% work on my brother. I didn’t think it would have to come to this so soon. But it’s our only unharmful option left.”
---
“Stanley.”
“Doc.”
“I will give you twenty dollars if you stay still for thirty whole seconds.”
“On one hand this is a set up… On the other hand, I’ve done worse for twenty dollars.”
“You what ?”
“Ten bucks up front.”
To be continued...

Request: JJ x maybank!sister, where Luke makes her get his drugs leading to something happening to her?
JJ Maybank x sister!reader
Summary: Luke makes Y/N run an errand for him resulting in a terrifying experience.
Warnings: drugs, creepy/disgusting old guys, sexual assault, physical abuse, barry being kinda decent?, overprotective jj (as he should be), physical fights
a/n: thank you for the request! please, please, do NOT read if this could trigger you. this is a long fic, but the assault part is pretty short and no clothes come off. hope you all enjoy!
(gif not mine)
Y/N is in her room and painting her nails. JJ isn't home and Luke is passed out on the couch. Y/N knows that JJ doesn't like her home with Luke when he's not there and before he left for work, he told her to leave and go to the chateau or something. But she didn't listen, insisting to herself that she'd be fine as long as Luke stayed asleep and she didn't leave her room.
That plan is ruined when her bedroom door swings open, slamming into the wall, making her jump. She curls up at the sight of her father drunkenly stumbling in. She watches him thumb through some cash before tossing a few bills onto her bed.
"Wh-- what's that for?" Y/N asks.
"I need you to go and get me a refill." Luke says.
"Refill?" Y/N asks.
"My fucking drugs, you idiot." Luke says.
"What? N-no. No, I'm not gonna get you your drugs." Y/N argues.
She whimpers when Luke tightly grips onto her hair, pulling at her scalp, forcing her to look up at him.
"You're gonna do whatever the fuck I tell you to, you little bitch. I'm in no condition to drive -- or take that long of a walk. You really want your dad risking his life?" Luke asks.
"You want your fourteen year old daughter risking hers?" Y/N shoots back. Luke's grip on her hair tightens and his glare gets harder.
"Just fucking go get my supply before I teach you a lesson. Understood?" Luke quietly asks, his voice sending shivers up Y/N's spine. She only glares at him in response. Luke lets go of her hair and backhands her across the face, her head snapping to the side.
Luke tightly grips her jaw, forcing her to look at him.
"I said, understood?" Luke asks.
"Yes." Y/N sneers. Luke harshly lets go of her jaw.
"Be back by two hours." Luke orders, stumbling out of the room.
Y/N sniffles, taking a deep breath to keep herself from crying. She rolls her eyes and slips her shoes on before grabbing the money and leaving.
- - -
Y/N walks up to the trailer that she's only a little familiar to her. She's never been inside, but Luke did often stop by after picking her up from school when she was little and she'd sit in the truck for hours until he came out, high as a kite. After almost getting into a car crash one day, Y/N stopped getting in the car with her dad whenever possible and JJ just walked her home from school.
Y/N knocks on the door, anxiously shuffling on her feet.
"It's open!" A voice calls from inside. Y/N hesitates for a moment before answering the door. She steps into the dirty, smelly trailer, hiding her grimace of disgust. Old food is everywhere, empty bottles of all sorts of alcohol lying about.
She looks over at the small table in the "living room" where two men, probably around her dad's age, are sitting and working on drugs.
"What can I do for you, pretty lady?" One of the men ask, smirking as he glances her up and down.
"I-- I'm looking for-- for Barry." Y/N says. She crosses her arms over her chest, trying to shield herself from his gaze.
"Barry's out running a few errands. We're in charge until then." The guy says.
"So... what can we do for you?" The second guy asks. "I'm Robby. That's David."
"Right. Uh, I-- I need some drugs." Y/N says.
"All right. How much? What kind?" David asks, standing up.
"I-- whatever Luke Maybank usually gets. Or what-- what he asked for." Y/N says.
"Ah, Luke Maybank. Frequent customer." Robby chuckles. "Couple pounds of coke." He holds a bag of white powder up.
"$200." David orders.
"I... I only have $100. That-- that's all he gave me." Y/n says.
"Ooh. Bummer." David tsks. "Get the other 100 and then come back, I guess. Bet going home without the goodies will be fun for you. You'll be more black and blue than ever." David laughs, Robby laughing along.
"Look, can I-- can I just pay half now and the rest later or something?" Y/N asks.
"No, sweetheart. Not how this shit works." David says. "Though, I... I do have a few ideas on how you can make up for the other half. A different sort of payment."
"What?" Y/N asks.
She watches David's smirk grow and he glances at Robby who also smiles. It takes a moment for Y/N to catch on, but when she does, she's running for the door.
"Ah, ah, ah!" David easily wraps one of his arms around her waist, yanking her away from the door.
"No!" She struggles against his hold as he lifts her up. Robby grabs her legs to prevent her from kicking. "No!"
"Oh, don't fight it, pretty girl. It can go over quickly. Long as you're not a bitch the whole time." David laughs.
"No! No! Let go of me!" Y/N screams, trying to fight against them. "Let go of me!"
"If you say so, princess." David tosses her onto the bed. Y/N tries to get off the bed, but David grabs her ankle, yanking her back. She struggles against him and he straddles her, pinning her arms down.
"Get something to tie her with." David orders and Robby starts to rummage around, looking for stuff. "Now... if you're a good girl, I'll give you the coke. But if you're bad, I'm just gonna keep you here longer, sweetheart."
"Please, let me go." Y/N sobs. "I-- I'm fourteen. I'm fourteen."
"That's okay. I like the younger ones. Less experience makes it more fun for me." David grins. Y/N lets out another sob, struggling against him, but he's too strong for her.
"Got some rope. And here's a rag." Robby stuffs the rag into Y/N mouth, muffling her cries and protests.
"Perfect." David grins. He gets up just enough to flip Y/N onto her stomach. He grabs a fistful of her hair and yanks her head back. "I like doggy style. So you're gonna be nice and do as I say."
Robby grabs her arm, though she struggles against him, hitting him away.
"Hey, hey, hey." David smacks her on the head. "The more you resist, the longer we'll be here. The longer I'll take. So you wanna be a little brat or be nice?"
Y/N pants, not fighting when Robby grabs her arm again, tying it to the bedpost.
"Good girl." David smirks. Robby rounds the bed, tying her other wrist to the bed. "Now, for the fun." David scoots down, forcing Y/N to get on her knees, her head lying sideways on the mattress. David gropes her ass making her quietly sob more. His hands roam her body, squeezing her boobs.
"Now... for the real fun." David grins.
David and Robby turn when they hear the door open and Barry steps in. He stops, seeing the positions.
"My apologies, fellas." Barry chuckles. "Who we got here?"
"A real cutie." David grins. He grips Y/N's hair, forcing her head back. Barry stares at her for a few moments before recognizing her.
"Hey, ain't the Maybank's little one?" Barry asks.
"Oh, yeah. On the drug run for her daddy. He must've known we needed a stress reliever." David chuckles.
"No, no, no, let her go." Barry orders.
"What? Barry, come on, man." Robby protests.
"No. Nah, man, she's a minor. We don't need the cops on our ass for raping anybody, much less a minor. I draw the line at fucking pedophilia, bro." Barry says.
"Barry--"
"No. No, I'm not gonna have the cops on my ass cause of you two idiots." Barry says. "Let her go."
David rolls his eyes, but climbs off the bed. Robby reluctantly unties Y/N, yanking the rag out of her mouth. Y/N coughs and gasps, trying to catch her breath.
"I-I need-- I don't have 200." She tells Barry.
"What your old man asked for only costs 100." Barry says.
Y/N looks at him in confusion before looking back at the older two who are both grinning and quietly laughing. Y/N sniffles, trying to not cry anymore. She shakily holds out the money to Barry who takes it and gives her the drugs.
Y/N makes an instant run for the door, racing out of the trailer.
- - -
Y/N gets home, rushing in, not wanting her dad to see her tears. She passes JJ who is in the kitchen.
"Y/N?" He asks, frowning when he sees her tear streaked face as she charges past him. "Hey." He calls, following her.
Y/N tosses the drugs to Luke who is sitting on the couch with a beer.
"Hey! Don't throw shit!" Luke scolds.
"There's your fucking coke!" She croaks out, her voice cracking. She storms to her room.
"You made her get your drugs?" JJ asks, looking at his dad.
"Don't yell or swear at me, you little brat!" Luke sneers, standing up.
Y/N turns, placing her hand on her door, and glaring at her father.
"Fuck you!" She screams, slamming her door shut.
"Y/N." JJ's eyes widen in fear.
"That's it, you bitch!" Luke shouts, charging towards her door.
"Hey, hey, no. No, no, no! Dad! Dad, stop!" JJ gets in the middle, blocking his father from his little sister's room.
"I'm gonna teach that brat a lesson!" Luke shouts, making sure Y/N hears her. "Remind her why she's such a worthless piece of shit! Why her mother abandoned her!"
"Dad, stop!" JJ shouts, only to earn a fist to his eye. JJ stumbles to the side, wincing in pain. Luke storms for his daughter's room, slamming the door open.
"You little--" Luke charges at Y/N who backs up into the corner of her room, realizing how stupid her decision was. Before he can reach her, JJ jumps him from behind, dragging him away from the girl.
"Run, Y/N!" JJ shouts, the girl standing there in fear. "Run!" He screams making Y/N snap out of her state of shock and she dodges Luke's hand as she runs out of the room.
JJ slams Luke's head against the wall, kicking him to the floor, knowing he'll pay for it next time he sees him. JJ runs out of the room, shutting the door behind him, and then he runs outside where Y/N is.
"Come on." JJ grabs her hand, dragging her over to his motorcycle. He gets on and she quickly follows.
"I'm gonna kill both of you!" Luke shouts, walking out of the house. He manages to get over and grips onto Y/N's arm making her shriek.
JJ uses the helmet and hits Luke over the head with it making him stumble back. He puts the helmet on Y/N's head and then starts the motorcycle, revving the engine. Before Luke can grab at them again, JJ speeds off.
JJ drives until he's at the chateau. The Twinkie isn't there, letting the siblings know that John B isn't home. Y/N immediately gets off the bike, taking the helmet off, and tossing it onto the ground.
"Y/N!" JJ calls, doing his best to put the stand down quickly as she marches towards the chateau. "Y/N!" He calls, running after her.
"Leave me alone." She hiccups.
"Hey, come on. Tell me what happened." JJ says, following her inside.
"I don't want to." She sniffles.
"Come on, munchkin. Tell me. I can help."
"No, you can't! Just leave me alone!" Y/N shouts, slamming the door to the bedroom shut. JJ flinches at the slam of the door and he hears Y/N start to sob from inside the room.
"Y/N?" He softly calls, gently knocking on the door. "Come on. Please, let me come in."
"Leave me alone." She cries out.
JJ quietly sighs, his hand hovering over the doorknob. He grips the doorknob, but just as he goes to turn it, he pulls his hand away. He knows Y/N needs time alone sometimes after something bad happens. And while he hates it, he knows pushing her to accept his comfort or talk about it will only push her away.
"I'll just... I'll be on the porch." JJ tells her, keeping his voice soft. "Okay?" He calls, hoping to get a response. He doesn't get one.
JJ sighs, running his hands through his hair, as he makes his way to the screened porch, immediately lighting a joint.
- - -
JJ is still sitting on the porch and on his third joint. His leg bounces up and down anxiously as his thoughts don't stray from his sister. He's finally broken out of his thoughts when he hears the screen door creak open and looks up to see his sister walk out.
Her eyes are red and puffy, tear stains on her cheeks, and her nose is red. A broken look rests in her eyes, one JJ is more familiar with seeing than he'd like to be.
"Hey." He softly greets. He offers his best comforting smile and puts the joint out. Y/N walks over and sits next to him on the couch, keeping a little distance between them.
They sit in silence for a little while, JJ not sure how to start talking about anything.
"Can you... can you tell me what happened?" JJ gently questions. Y/N tenses up making JJ's heart clench. "Please, munchkin. I-- if you can't go into detail, that's okay, but... but a brief summary, maybe? Tell me who I have to beat up."
"I... I didn't listen earlier. When you told me to leave." Y/N quietly says. "I stayed home. I-I figured if he was asleep and I didn't make myself known, then I... then I'd be fine." She says, keeping her gaze on a loose thread of the couch she's messing with.
"But he... he came in and-and he made me go and get his drugs for him." Y/N sniffles, tears springing to her eyes as her mind goes back to her time in the trailer.
"And I... I know he usually gets the stuff from Barry, but Barry wasn't there when I got there. Just... just two guys around dad's age and they were working on the drugs or... or whatever you call making drugs."
"They... they said that what dad buys was $200, but I... I only had $100. So... so I tried to pay half and then promise to come back later with the other half. However I would get that. I don't know. But supposedly, possibly I guess, you can't do that."
"So, they... they thought of another way for me to make up for the missing 100." Y/N says, wiping her eyes as tears start to fall again. She sniffles, glancing up at JJ, practically seeing the wheels turn in his head.
After a moment, his eyes widen, and his heart drops as he feels sick to his stomach.
"No." He whispers, shaking his head, anger swimming in his teary eyes.
"They... they dragged me to the bed. And... and said the more I struggled, the longer I'd be there. And I... I didn't want to be there for very long." Y/N hiccups. "So, I... I let them tie me down and-and stuff a rag in my mouth. I... I just let them do it. They were bigger and stronger and I... I couldn't handle them, I couldn't do it. I just wanted it to be over."
"Before he could... before he did anything more than, uh... more than grope, the-the door opened and it was Barry. He made them let me go. He-- he knows I'm still a kid and he didn't want the cops on his ass for raping a minor. Assaulting a minor is already bad enough. So is doing that to a grown woman, but I guess a kid makes it more complicated or something. He doesn't need his business going down the drain and ending up in jail or-or whatever."
JJ's jaw clenches and his hands curl into fists, trying to fight every bone in his body to punch something right now.
"And the drugs even only costed $100. They just... they just wanted an excuse to do that." Y/N says quietly.
"What were their names?" JJ asks.
"Wh-why?" Y/N asks.
"Just give me their names." JJ orders.
"I... uh... they, um... Ro-Robby and... and D-David. David did-- did everything but-but tie me." Y/N says.
"I'm gonna fucking kill them." JJ practically growls, shooting to his feet and heading for the door.
"No. No, no. No, JJ, please!" Y/N calls out. "Please don't go. Don't leave me." She sobs. The pain in her voice is enough to make JJ stop. It both breaks his heart more and fuels his anger.
He huffs, knowing she's more important, and he contains his anger. Looking back at her broken state, all the anger leaves his system, replaced with heartbreak and sympathy.
"I'm not goin' anywhere." He assures, walking back over. He sits next to her, holding an arm out. "C'mere, kiddo." He pulls her closer, wrapping his arms around her in a protective hold. Y/N sobs into his shoulder, gripping onto his shirt as tightly as she can, her body racking with her cries.
JJ tightens his grip, pushing his own tears back as he does his best to comfort her.
"I got you." He assures, placing a hand on her head. "I got you. I'm right here. I'm here." JJ places a soft kiss to her head, smoothing some of her hair down. "I got you, munchkin." He whispers.
- - -
Y/N managed to cry herself to sleep eventually. JJ left her on the couch, lying her down and covering her up with a blanket. He sits in the arm chair by the couch, watching her sleep, the anger radiating through his body.
He looks back when he hears a car and watches the Twinkie pull up. He spots John B driving and Pope is in the passenger seat. JJ gets up, storming off the porch, marching towards the Twinkie.
"Gimme the keys." JJ orders his best friend.
"What? Why?" John B asks.
"Just give me the fucking keys, man." JJ demands, holding his hand out.
"JJ, what's up?" Pope asks, concern in his voice.
"Some shitheads assaulted Y/N -- sexually. I'm gonna go fucking kill them." JJ declares.
"Wait, what?" John B asks.
"Is she okay?" Pope asks.
"Of course she's not fucking okay, Pope!" JJ yells. "Would you be okay?"
"Hey, we care about her too. I just-- it was a question." Pope says.
"Okay, well, look, you're not going alone." John B argues.
"The hell I'm not." JJ glares at him.
"No. No, man, you go alone, you're probably not coming back. Especially if this was some kook--"
"It was two cokeheads. Two pieces of shit that have nothing better to do than torture a little girl. So, personally, I don't really give a shit what the consequences are." JJ says.
"Yeah, well, I bet you she does." John B says, nodding to the chateau where he knows Y/N probably is. "You're the most stable person in her life, J."
"Well, that's a scary thought." The blonde scoffs.
"She can't lose you. So I'm going with you. To help you and to make sure you don't get yourself killed. Either that or you're fucking walking." John B says.
"Fine." JJ relents. "But you." He points at Pope. "You're staying back with her. I don't want her alone."
"Okay." Pope nods.
"Plus, your fighting skills suck, mathlete." JJ says making Pope roll his eyes. JJ holds his hand out for the keys.
"Fuck no. You're too pissed to drive." John B says, getting in the driver's seat.
"Whatever." JJ grumbles, getting in the passenger seat. "Just go as fast as you can."
"No doubt." John B says, starting the car and speeding off.
- - -
John B pulls up to the trailer park and stops outside the trailer JJ tells him to. JJ is out of the car before John B is even able to put it in park. JJ storms up to the trailer and slams the door open.
"Whoa! Hey, man!" Barry exclaims.
"You two David and Robby?" JJ asks, nodding to the two older men around his dad's age.
"Who's askin'?" Robby asks.
"Which one's David?" JJ asks.
"Sorry, bro. I don't swing that way." David laughs. JJ gives him a sarcastic smile before punching him.
"Whoa!" Barry exclaims.
"Holy, shit!" Robby shouts. John B rushes into the trailer, watching JJ grab David's shirt and slam him against the wall.
"Dude, hey. Hey, kid! Relax!" David says.
"Yeah, kid. I'm a fucking kid! You know who else is a fucking kid?! My baby sister!" JJ shouts.
"Oh, shit." Barry mutters.
Robby tries to pull JJ off of David, but John B grabs him and punches him. He knees Robby in the stomach, shoving him to the ground.
"Look, we can talk about this--" David tries.
"Talk about this?!" JJ shouts, slamming David against the wall. "Talk about you trying to rape a fourteen year old girl? Talk about that, huh? Yeah, do you know how fucking sick that is? Assault is bad enough, but you gotta go after a kid who is barely out of middle school?"
"Well, hey, it's not my fault they're tighter at that age." David smirks.
JJ immediately punches David, the force sending David to double over, groaning in pain. JJ repeatedly hits and kicks at the older man, not stopping for anything.
"JJ." John B calls after a while when he notices David half-unconscious. "JJ. JJ!" He calls, but the blonde doesn't listen to him.
"Hey, hey, hey!" John B rushes over, trying to pull his friend away.
"Get off me!" JJ shouts.
"She wouldn't want you in jail, dude!" John B shouts. "Y/N needs you!"
His words finally manage to get through to JJ making the blonde stop. He breathes heavily, trying to catch his breath. JJ balls David's shirt in his hands, yanking him up, glaring at the older man's bloody appearance.
"One of you lowlifes ever talk to my sister, ever touch her -- ever even fucking think of or mention her again -- it will be the last fucking thing you ever do, I swear to God." JJ sneers. "Stay away from kids, you sick fuck."
JJ spits in his face before getting up and storming out.
John B delivers a few kicks to David's abdomen making him weakly groan in pain. John B looks over at Barry who is standing across the room, smoking a joint.
"Nobody knows about this shit." John B states and Barry holds his hands up.
- - -
JJ and John B get back to the chateau with some pizza, soda, and beer. They walk inside, Pope and Y/N sitting on the couch. Y/N is curled up, resting against the arm of the couch. She has a blanket covering her and the two are watching Tangled, it comforting Y/N.
They look up as the two boys enter, Pope perking up at the food.
"Sweet." Pope says, standing up, walking over to the counter where JJ puts the boxes down.
"You guys actually went to get food?" Y/N asks.
"Yeah. Where else would we be?" John B asks, putting the beer and pack of soda bottles on the counter.
"I don't... I thought that maybe... forget it." Y/N mumbles, turning her attention back to the TV.
John B looks at JJ who gives him a look to shut up, not wanting to tell her anything. JJ puts two pieces of cheese pizza on a paper plate and grabs a bottle of soda. He walks over to Y/N, putting the bottle on the coffee table and holding the plate out to her.
"Thanks." She mumbles, taking the plate. JJ softly smiles at her, gently ruffling her hair. The three boys each get their own food and some beer.
Pope sits back down in his previous spot and John B sits on the floor, putting his stuff on the coffee table. JJ sits next to his sister.
"Oh, sweet, I love this part." John B says, watching the characters sing in the pub.
Y/N glances at JJ as he picks one of his pieces of pizza up. Her eyes immediately go to his bloodied knuckles.
"JJ." She quietly says, getting his attention. She glances up at his face before refocusing on his hand. JJ follows her gaze, putting the pizza down.
"Oh, those-- those are old." He dismisses, eating the pizza with his other hand.
"Then why are you hiding it?" She asks.
"I'm not." JJ says.
"Jayje." She mumbles.
JJ sighs, but leans closer to her so he doesn't have to talk loud.
"Look, it's fine, Y/N/N. Nothing's gonna happen to me and those shitheads got taught a lesson. No old, weird, disgusting creeps are gonna bother you now. Promise." JJ tells her.
"You shouldn't have done that." Y/N whispers.
"Have you met me?" JJ asks. "If you think I'm letting anybody get away with hurting you, you're fucking high, kiddo." He says making Y/N smile the slightest bit.

“Lee! This place is a fucking mess!” Sandy calls as she steps into her brother’s house.
“What the fuck am I supposed to do about it?” Lee grunts back from the staircase, cigarette hanging from his lips as he pulls on his jacket.
“It’s embarrassing! You’re the sheriff. You live in sty,” she sighs picking up a shirt from the floor. “Really?” She asks holding up the garment. “Do you expect mom to get up out of her grave and clean up after you?”
He just ignores her continuing to the kitchen to make a sandwich.
“Are you listening to me?”
“Hard not to,” Lee mutters.
“These ash trays haven’t been emptied since the last time I came over. And what’s with all these wrappers?” Sandy brushes a pile of candy wrappers into an overflowing trashcan. “Why don’t you hire someone?”
“Ain’t nobody got money for that,” Lee replies into his sandwich. He had to avoid three slices of moldy bread and all he had was cheese and mayonnaise in the fridge. He’d just grab something else on his way to work.
“You have a Cadillac and Lincoln and if you had someone cooking for you, you wouldn’t spend so much at the diners and drive ins.” Lee continues to ignore her to grab a Coke from the fridge. “What are you saving all this money for? Hoping one of those hoes you fuck around with will show up with a kid?”
“God, I hope not,” Lee sighs. Maybe he should hire someone. Be nice to have a home cooked meal. Not just add to the mess anymore. He could use a woman’s touch around here…
“You know someone?” He finally asks, a lazy drawl in his voice as he levels his gaze with his sister.
She just smirks back at him. “A friend of mine’s sister is looking for work.”
“Friend of yours? You got shitty friends, Sand,” Lee goads.
“She’s a friend from work,” Sandy explains.
“‘Nother waitress?” She nods. “And it’s her sister?” She nods again. “Ever met her?”
“I have. She comes around the diner sometimes. She’s nice. Educated. She just graduated from college.”
“Why the hell she want to be a maid?”
“She moved back here to take care of their mom. It’s temporary. Until you finally find a wife that can take care of you.”
Lee let’s out an exasperated huff. “Send her over Monday morning.”
Sandy grins triumphantly. “You’re gonna love her.”
“Whatever,” Lee grumbles and lights another cigarette. “Get out of my house. I gotta get to work.”
The next Monday, you stand waiting on an unfamiliar porch in a starched blue dress with a canvas bag of cleaning supplies. You were desperate for anything at his point. Meade was a place you hoped you never had to return to. After you got accepted into Spelman you kissed this place goodbye and refused to look back.
Then your mom got sick your senior year.
So you started to spend your summers out here instead of having fun with your friends. And after graduating nursing school, instead of taking an offer from a innovative hospital with competitive pay in San Francisco, you were stuck back in your backwards home town that still had signs for ‘colored’ and ‘white’ over the water fountains.
There wasn’t a position for a black nurse here. They’d let you work as a custodian but they “didn't have a place for a woman of your stature”. The ‘black’ hospital was thirty minutes away and they couldn’t afford to take on anyone else. They could barely afford their skeleton staff alone. Unless you wanted to work for free with an hour long commute, you were stuck either cleaning or waiting tables or stocking groceries because this place was stuck in the 1800s!
“It’s just for now,” you remind yourself under your breath. Just until you could convince your mom to move to California with you. Your sister has two kids and a full time job. She can only help her so much. So you turned down that job to take care of her. She’d have better care in a bigger city. A better life in general. But old people are reluctant to change. It’d take some time to convince her but you refuse to waste away in this hell hole with the worst people in America.
You’ll have an apartment overlooking the water and be working at a cutting edge hospital by next summer.
“It’s just for now,” you repeat. You hear a heavy set of footsteps approach the door.
Your sister said he was the sheriff. Her coworker’s brother. Figures in Meade County that the sheriffs’s sister would be a waitress and not a lawyer or a politician or a doctor or something more prestigious. You roll your eyes that you’ll be working for the man that continues to enforce Jim Crow after it’s been deemed unconstitutional.
You just hope your mouth can keep in check.
“It’s just for now.”
The door finally opens revealing a wall of a man. You look up to see him dressed in a grey button up stretched over a bit of pooch, stubble forming on his cheeks from not shaving that morning, perfectly cropped dark hair, and a gorgeous set of blue eyes. Sandy’s eyes weren’t nearly as bright.
A small smirk forms on his lips as you stare up at him.
“You the cleaning girl?” He drawls, watching you stare at him dumbly.
“Uh, yeah,” you whisper. “I mean, yes,” you respond a little more confidently. “Yes, sir, sheriff, Mr. Bodecker...”
He lets out an amused noise at your flustering. “Just Lee’s fine. Come on.” He nods toward the house, leading you in and you notice you have your work cut out for you. “You got a name?” You nod and introduce yourself. “You cook?”
“I can cook,” you agree. Your family likes your cooking enough.
“You know anything about gardening?”
“Like a vegetable garden?”
“Yeah. I’m looking to start one. It’d be nice to have some help.” You just nod again not looking forward to getting dirty but your dad taught you some things about flowers while he was still alive.
“I’ll have you make three meals a day. I can offer $5 an hour, five days a week. That sound alright?”
That’s perfect! Plenty to help you save, buy a car, get a home in California. You just nod, attempting to not look so eager.
“Alright. It’s a fucking mess around here so you have your work cut out for you. I work ridiculous hours so i ain’t home a lot. I’m just gonna trust you to find something to do around here.” You nod as you follow him around the house. Two stories, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, the kitchen could use more than a little organizing, and the bathroom looked like it requires a hazmat suit to take care of. “As you can see, you’ll have plenty to do. I’m not a tyrant. I just expect mutual respect.” You nod again as he stops in the kitchen. “Alright. It’s my day off so I’ll be around if you have any questions.” You nod again.
Then he leaves you alone.
Alright. Where to start?
“Oh! Have you had breakfast?” You call after your new employer on his way upstairs.
“Sure haven’t. That’s your first assignment.” You smile and look through the refrigerator for breakfast food.
You step into your crowded mother’s house after a long day of cleaning and cooking to find her in her favorite chair listening to the radio while your sister’s kids chase a ball.
“Will y’all take that outside before you break something?” You scold.
“Leave those babies alone. They aren’t hurting anyone,” your mother laughs weakly.
“You are so much softer on them then you were on us,” you lament walking over to press a kiss to her forehead.
“How was your first day?”
“It was fine. He seems nice enough. Kept to himself mostly but he gave me a key for tomorrow because he doubts he’ll be back home when I’m off.”
“What’s the sheriff’s house like?” She asks ready for all the gritting details.
“It was a mess in there, momma! I’m tackling one thing at a time. It’s nice but I don’t know, I expected him to have one of those plantation homes passed down since the 1800s,” you joke.
“Well, he ain’t a real white.” You cut your mother a look at her statement. She can’t end with that. “His momma immigrated here.”
“Really?” Your mom knows all the good gossip.
“One of those little European countries. There’s a million of ‘em. She was pregnant with him when she showed up and got pregnant with his sister a couple years later. Never did marry. Never did know who the girl’s father was.”
“What’d she do out here?”
“You know I hate to gossip.” Liar. But you don’t say it out loud. “No one ever saw her going to work but folk would see her coming home early in the morning if you follow.”
“Ohhhh,” you laugh at the scandal. You began to wonder how an immigrant became the sheriff in this small town. He was elected while you were in Atlanta so you had no idea that he even existed.
Interesting situation.
“But that was all speculation. Don’t go spreading that around, you hear?”
“Yes, momma,” you smile while rolling your eyes. “I’m gonna start dinner, alright? How’s gumbo sound?”
“Oh Lord, girl! What d’you know about gumbo?” She laughs herself into a coughing fit.
You hand her a handkerchief and rub her back until it passes. “I know plenty, momma. Been in Atlanta for the past six years.”
“Alright, girl. You go on ahead,” she smiles skeptically making you giggle.
You go to start dinner for the house and hope Lee enjoyed the dinner you made him.
Soon your sister come home and shortly afterward her husband and it was a full house. It was noisy and crowded and you never missed your little apartment more than you did in the evenings.
At least you didn’t have to share a room with anyone. It may be small, basically a refitted pantry, but it was private.
You finally retreat to your room alone after showering and wrapping up your hair. You let out a soft sigh as you fall onto your bed. You curl under your covers, exhausted but a little restless for some reason. You aren’t sure why. You should fall asleep the second your head hits the pillow. You know you’re going to be so sore in the morning after today but you can’t settle down.
You jiggle your leg in frustration.
You know what will help you sleep…
You hate doing this in your mother’s home. It was so much easier when you had your own place.
But you need some sleep.
You slip your hand under your night gown. You easily find your clit and apply a little pressure. You bite your lip and let out a soft moan as you let your imagination run wild. Normally you imagined Sidney Poitier or Paul Newman having their way with you but tonight a new face entered your mind.
Oh no.
Brain! No!
Not him! He’s your boss! You whimper at the idea of wanting to fuck the giant man. Stop…
But it felt so good. It was so easy. The idea of his big hands all over you, his lips pressed against your skin.
You let out a quiet whine as you cum far too quickly.
This is bad. This is so bad. But you did manage to relax yourself. You were too tired to overthink it. You’ll figure it out in the morning.
But you didn’t figure it out in the morning. You made Lee his breakfast and sent him off to work before eating something yourself and tackling another mess in his home. You didn’t see him much after your first day. Just in the morning as he got ready for work and, as promised, he normally didn’t make it home in time to see you off. But you kept yourself busy and before you knew it your weekend came. You enjoyed time with your family, took a bus to the city with your mother and sister to shop, went to a movie with some childhood friends, and ended it all with church on Sunday.
And not once did you think about how you got off to the image of your boss. It went to the back of your mind where it belonged and didn’t resurface until early Monday morning.
You let out a soft sigh as you step into Lee’s house. All those images of him unwillingly flood back into your brain as you see him leaning over the kitchen counter looking over the newspaper. His cigarette hangs from his mouth precariously. His weekend clothes are a far cry from his work ensemble. So loose with a slight hint his preferences. You guess his favorite color is red since he owns so many button ups and polos in varying red tones. He also has a collection of colorful socks. They all have interesting patterns and designs. You enjoyed looking at them while folding his laundry.
“Morning,” he greets breaking you from your trance.
“Oh! Good morning,” you squeak in surprise. You hope he didn’t notice you staring.
“Didn’t startle you, did I?
“Yes! I mean no. I mean I don’t-”
“It’s alright,” he chuckles. “It’s early.”
You just nod, taking the out, and place your bag on the table by the door. “What would you like for breakfast this morning?” You ask redirecting your very explicit thoughts.
“I saw you got some thick cut bacon at the store,” he trails expectantly.
“That was meant to be a surprise,” you smile.
“You should’ve hid it better,” Lee grunts.
“Coming right up,” you laugh and head into the kitchen. Lee has Mondays off strangely enough. You think he also has the weekend off. It was odd that he wanted you around on his day off but you did your best to stay quiet and out of the way. It helped that he spent his time outside mostly, working on his garden and mowing the lawn.
He came in a little before noon asking about the lunch you were plating.
“Looks good. Thank you.” You just nod in response as he takes his plate to the dining table leaving you to eat at the kitchen bar.
“You gonna join me?” Lee calls after a moment.
“Oh, no. I couldn’t-“ you start but he reappears just to grab your plate and place it next to his. “I really couldn’t,” you try to explain but he just pulls out the chair next to his and waits for you to sit.
“We can stand here all day staring at each other but I know you’re hungry,” Lee goads when you refuse to budge.
“Fine,” you sigh and roll your eyes.
“See? Ain’t this nice?” Lee laughs while pushing in your chair after you reluctantly sat. You attempt to eat in silence, making yourself as small as possible but the sheriff has other ideas. “My sister said you went to nursing school?” He asks braking your concentration on your green beans.
“Yeah. Um, I graduated from Spelman in Atlanta.”
“Smart girl,” he deduces. “What are you doing cleaning up after me?”
“My mom got sick and there’s no place for a black nurse around here.”
He hums softly in response. “You been to that hospital?” You shake your head softly. “I’d prefer it if you were working there than half those nurses. Some of the meanest women I’ve ever met.” You giggle. “Last time I went in there I swear this woman had never seen a patient in her life. She jabbed me three times to try to get my blood and acted like it was my fault. Ain’t that the first thing y’all learn?”
“Not the first thing,” you smile. “But it’s pretty high on the list.”
“Well, I don’t want you to leave me but I can put in a word for you. Just so there will be someone that can properly draw blood.”
“How do you know I can draw blood?” You smile jokingly.
“You could be worse than that woman but at least you’d be nice to look at.”
“Mr. Bodecker!” You gasp with a smile.
He just smirks back at you. “And what did I tell you about that ‘Mr.’ Shit?”
“Calling you ‘Lee’ is…weird,” you explain shyly glancing away.
“Well, calling me ‘Mr. Bodecker’ is even weirder. Call me fuck face before you call me that.” You can only laugh at his antics, covering your mouth with you hand as you giggle. “Got it?”
“Yes…Lee,” you respond through your laughter.
“Good girl.”
Those word haunt you for the rest of the day and all the way back home. You walked right past your mother with the briefest of greetings on your way to your room. There was left over spaghetti from the night before for dinner so your didn’t have to worry about cooking. You just need to get to your room. You just needed a minute.
Maybe five.
Your hips desperately rocked into your fingers as you think of those two simple little words. That drawl around them. The smirk on his lips as he said them. Fuck! You want to be his good girl forever. It felt so good to be good for him. You whimper into your pillow as you cum around your fingers, soaking your hand. A soft curse escapes your lips. You wish it was Lee’s hand. Lee’s mouth. Lee’s cock…
“Shit.”
This really isn’t good.
Your contact with Lee is minimal for the rest of the week but it all just seems to get worse. The lingering smell of his cologne, the feel of his clothes, his presence left in his house. It’s all so intimate. You can hardly stand it!
Weeks pass like this. You living absolute torture by a man who had no idea what he was doing to you.
Until there’s a lull in one of your days and you hear the strangest noise coming from outside.
You were dusting the selves around the living room when you heard crying outside. It must just be a neighborhood kid but you investigate anyway. When you deduce that it’s coming from the backyard you stick your head out the back door tentatively. Maybe the back neighbor? But it’s coming from a bush…
Maybe the tiny borrower neighbors…
Your speculation that it’s just the neighbors is getting slimmer and slimmer.
You squat down to see under Lee’s freshly planted ground covering and notice a little white ball of fur.
“Oh?” A kitten. Barely even had it’s pretty little blue eyes open. When it sees you, it’s crying gets louder and it toddles its way toward you. “Oh, poor baby. You crying for your momma?” It makes its way to your out stretched hand and continues to scream. You better not mess with it. It’s mom will be back.
Your work day was over two hours later and the screaming has continued nonstop. You find an old sheet and make a little bundle for the baby, a cup full of milk, and your left over turkey from lunch and take it outside. It seems like it could just start eating solids as it gnaws on the turkey slice and happily laps up the milk. “There,” you sigh contently as the kitten stops crying and curls on the makeshift bed you made it. “God, I can’t leave you out here.” You were sure the night time animal activity was pretty minimal but anything was a threat to a kitten this small. And you really can’t bring it home…
You hear the front door open and stiffen. Was it already that late? It takes him a moment to walk out on the back patio but you can’t help but notice the relived look on his face.
“You still here?” You nod and open your mouth to explain but he sees the kitten before you can start. “Where’d that come from?”
“It was in the bushes. I just found it today.”
“Well, bring it in and get it cleaned up. I’ll see if I can find some proper bowls.”
To your surprise, Lee kept the cat overnight.
And when you opened the door the next morning, it stumbled over to you greeting you with a loud meow.
“I told you your momma would be back,” Lee rumbles, his voice is still rough from sleep, coming down the stairs in just a plaid pair of sleeping pants and white tank top. There’s a prominent outline where his cock is and you practically start drooling. You’ve never seen him like this. You want more.
“She’s been crying for you all night. Get her something to eat, will ya?”
“Her?” You ask, shaking yourself from your sex crazed stupor.
“Yeah ‘her’! You gave the little tyke a bath and didn’t notice her lack of balls.”
“Oh my god,” you whisper behind a giggle. Lee disappears back upstairs to finish getting ready while you make breakfast for him and the kitten.
“What are we naming her?” Lee asks, stepping into the kitchen with much more clothes on to your disappointment.
“We?” You ask lifting an eyebrow while you stir grits.
“Yes, momma, we. The kid gotta have a name.” Your face heats at him calling you the kitten’s mom.
“Does that make you her dad?” You smile and place a bowl in front of him as well as a plate of scrambled eggs.
“Kid needs a father,” Lee smirks.
“How about ‘Baby’?”
“Baby, huh?” The sheriff laughs.
“Too simple?”
“Nah, she’s got a ‘Baby’ about her. Definitely gonna be a stripper.”
You laugh softly at his teasing. “Well, what do you suggest? Lee Jr.?”
“Nah. Baby’s good,” Lee grins and starts to eat his food. “So, you got a boy?”
“A boy?” You question placing a bowl of canned tuna in front of Baby leaving her to meow happily and make a mess around her, getting more food on the floor than in her mouth.
“Don’t make me ask you twice?” Lee warns.
You let out a soft sigh. “No. I don’t have a man or a significant other.” He just hums in response, focusing on his eggs. “Do you have a girl?”
“I have you.” You can’t stop your laughter at his statement.
“You don’t have me,” you deny, with a smile.
“Don’t I?” Those bright blues meet your gaze and hold it for a moment. You bite your lip softly wanting nothing more than to be his but you aren’t giving in without a fight. He probably feels so good. His lips probably feel like heaven and he must be amazing to cuddle with. A strong warm body to wrap yourself in. You wish you had him every night. That you could wake up to him every day.
“Even if I don’t have you,” Lee starts again and breaking the spell between you, “I know how to get you to come running to me.”
“How’s that?” Your words come out in a soft whisper. It honestly wouldn’t take much. All he’d have to do is ask.
He gives you a once over from the other side of the kitchen island. His blue eyes gauging you before he answers. “I have your Baby.” You burst into giggles at his words. He’s such a flirt.
“I need to get to work. Watch our little girl for a minute. Daddy,” you add. You can practically hear him purr at the word.
Two can play at this game.
As the weather gets warmer, the days get longer, the less you see of Lee. You make him his breakfast before you leave the night before because he leaves for work early and still gets home late. You watch Baby grow during the day while he watches her at night. The only time you get to talk to him are Mondays and sometimes he still goes into work so you don’t get any quality time.
You miss him.
You miss him immensely.
You sigh while you play with Baby. An old bowtie that Lee got as a gift decorates her neck while she leaps after a ribbon.
“How’s your daddy doing, little girl?” You ask the kitten while she plays. You notice her freshly brushed fur and trimmed nails. He takes such good care of his little girl.
You’ve gotten Lee’s house to the point that basic upkeep was all you needed to do. It left you with a lot of down time. You let Lee know that you weren’t doing much besides fixing his meals but he still wanted you around. So you kept yourself busy. You organized his clothes, cleaned out his garage, and your next task was the basement. The place was full of old stuff left over from when his mother was alive apparently. He explicitly told you to ‘throw all that old shit away’ but it had to be sentimental. He had a reason to keep it at one point. You plan on meticulously going through the boxes, getting rid of moth eaten things, and organizing whatever photos and documents you find. You just felt a need to preserve that for him. Maybe it was because your ancestors were a mystery. Maybe because your history was stolen from you.
You just didn’t want that for anyone else.
Baby follows you down into the dim underbelly of the house. There were boxes stacked on boxes stacked on boxes. You definitely had your work cut out for you.
You get so lost in your work, you almost forget about Lee’s dinner. The only thing that reminds you is Baby crying for her lunch. You quickly run upstairs to make a quick gumbo that you can leave simmering while you go back to work.
You come across a box full of old photos that obviously weren’t taken in America. This must be Lee’s family. There’s a woman that jumps out at you in a lot of them. She looks so much like his sister. This must be their mom. She’s beautiful.
You find a smaller box and place all the photos in it carefully. You’ll sort them later. You fill another box of stained and damaged clothes and tug it toward the stairs. You might have to have Lee haul it to the trash for you.
“You still here, momma?” Well, speak of the devil. Baby goes running to greet her father
“I’m down here, Lee,” you call up the basement stairs. Lee’s form fills the door at the top of the steps and you let out a relieved sigh.
“What’re you still doing here? It’s late,” Lee sighs descending the steps to you. He’s in his full uniform. You can see how he’d be so intimidating out in the world. He such a big man.
“It is?” You whisper in embarrassment. “I got kinda distracted.”
He glances around at the meticulous organizing you’re doing before leveling a hard gaze on you. “I told you to throw it out. Not create a bigger mess.”
“You can’t just throw it all away, Lee. I’m sure some things are sentimental,” you insist.
“I can do whatever I want! It’s my house and I want it gone,” Lee frowns at you. You take a frustrated breath and cross your arms. He gives you an amused look. “Are you sassing me?”
“I don’t know, am I?” You counter, pulling your lips to the side, unimpressed by all of it.
“Why can’t you just throw it away?”
“Because I don’t want you to miss it,” you argue placing your hands on your hips.
“Why would I miss it? It’s just a bunch of hoarded garbage.”
“What if your kids want to see it? Or your sister’s kids?”
“They will never see that.” He glares at you resolutely. There’s finality to his statement but you’re far from done with this argument.
“But, Lee-“
“That’s enough. Get your butt up those stairs. We’re gonna eat and then I’m taking you home.” You let out a disgruntled huff and press passed him. He grips your elbow, halting you in your tracks, and pulling you back towards him. If you weren’t so frustrated with him, you’d be a flustered mess from being this close but right now you just want to knock some sense into him.
You frown up at him, his icy gaze searching yours, waiting for you to break under is scrutiny but you refuse. You’re too feisty for that. He had every intention on telling you to watch your mouth, fix your attitude, that he’s the one in charge around here. But he knows all that is a lie. There’s no arguing with you and you’ve been running this place since he brought you home. Lee finally sighs before releasing you.
He can control you about as much as he can control Baby.
“Let’s just eat something and calm down, alright? I miss seeing you. I don’t want to spend the evening arguing.” You blink up at him. You could just go home. You don’t have to stay.
But you miss him, too.
You nod once and head upstairs. You call home to let your mom know you’ll be late before setting two places at the table while Lee changes up stairs.
It’s a tension filled dinner full of clipped responses and frustrated eye rolls, mostly on your end. To Lee’s credit, he’s making every effort to be civil. You’re just being stubborn for a future you have no real vested interest in. You finish your food with Baby curled on your lap, completely oblivious to the tension between her parents.
Lee gets up and starts clearing the table. You start to get up to help him but he just presses a hand to your shoulder. “Sit. The baby’s sleeping.” You smile up at him and settled back down while he cleans the kitchen. Your fingers stroke Baby’s soft fur. She looks so comfortable. You can’t help but close your eyes as well, leaning back in the chair comfortably.
You didn’t even notice that you fell asleep until you awaken in Lee’s arms. You gasp, jerking in his grip making him chuckle softly.
“Calm down. You’re alright.” You settle back into his embrace, wrapping your arms around his shoulders comfortably.
You’ll let him take you wherever he wants like this.
“I’m still mad at you,” you mutter, nuzzling into his shoulder.
“I know.” He lowers you onto a bed. You instantly recognize the floral comforter of the spare bedroom bed. Baby happily curls up near your head while Lee sits on the side of the bed. “We’re not supposed to go to bed angry,” Lee smiles down at you as you watch him. He presses a loose strand of hair from your face.
“I’m not the one not making any sense,” you yawn, stretching across the bed to get comfortable.
“Alright. Can I explain?”
“It’s your house,” you parrot.
Lee holds his tongue but he wants to tell that mouth of yours off so bad. Then he wants to kiss it until you can’t think straight…
“No one can see that stuff, momma.”
“Why?”
Lee groans at the thought of even needing to explain it. He scrubs his eyes but your stare is unwavering, giant brown orbs waiting for a good explanation.
“It’s easier to just integrate, to forget that I’m from somewhere else, than to be an immigrant.”
“Is that right?” You smirk, completely unimpressed. “Must be nice.” You roll away to face away from him, staring at the wall.
“Look, I don’t,” Lee groans, frustratedly. “I didn’t choose this. My mother never even taught me Romanian. She never talked about it. Never once mentioned my father. She wanted us to be American. Nothing else. She wanted it to be easier for us.” You roll your eyes at the idea. The ridiculousness of it all. “I know you can never take off your skin color. It will never be easier for you. But I can help. I want to help.”
“Do you have any idea what I would give to know where I came from?” You whisper, tears stinging your eyes. “And you just want to throw that away?” Your voice breaks at the last word.
“Hey,” Lee soothes, pulling you to his chest. “You know this world we live in. You’re either white or nothing.”
“The world won’t always be like this, Lee!” You cry, pressing away from him.
“I hope to God it won’t. But for right now, everyone else need protection. I just don’t want you to be hurt. I don’t want anyone to be hurt.”
Tears spring from your eyes. “It’s all so stupid.”
“I know.” Lee pulls you into his arms as you cry into his shoulder. “It’s ridiculous. I hate it. I hate it so much.” He holds you while you cry, rubbing your back and pressing kisses to your temple. You eventually sniffle and start to calm down.
“You still mad at me?” Lee mutters, squeezing you a little tighter.
“No,” you grumble. You’re mad at the entire situation but you can’t stay mad at Lee. Lee just hums and continues to rub your back.
“Stay here tonight.”
“Oh no! I can’t! I should really go home,” you trail.
“That wasn’t a question. You’re gonna stay right here. I need you close.”
“My mom will throw a fit,” you warn.
“I’ll explain it all to her,” Lee smiles watching you. Pinning you under his pale gaze.
“You’re going to explain how a single man and a single woman stayed in a house together and nothing happened?” You laugh darkly as you rub at your swollen eyes.
“I don’t mind bending the truth for you,” Lee smirks. “Besides, it won’t be a lie if you stay in your room and I stay in mine.” He pulls one of your hands from your face to rub the back of it with his thumb.
“What if I have a nightmare?” You whisper.
“Well,” Lee clears his throat and the most naughty look crosses his features, “you can always come tell me about it.” Lee’s hand slides from yours to grip your thigh. “You know where everything is.”
You smile up at the man and he presses a kiss to your cheek. “Goodnight, daddy.”
“Goodnight, momma.” He pats Baby on the head before leaving the room.
You take a calming breath and settle into the loaned bed before picking your way to the guest bathroom to get cleaned up. You find a set of pjs Lee left for you on the counter. You’re absolutely swimming in the shirt and the pants won’t stay on your hips so you forgo them but they’re so comfortable and smelt of him.
There was so much of him in this house.
You sigh softly and curl around Baby but sleep is fleeting in the unfamiliar environment. You try to be good and stay put. You really do. But thirty minutes into your attempt, Baby gets up and starts scratching at the closed door. You call her back to bed but she just ignores you so you get up to let her out and watch her trot right up to Lee’s door to start scratching there. She must miss sleeping with her daddy.
You probably would, too.
You were sure he’d hear the little kitten whining outside of his door, but when he doesn’t answer you go to let her in. You start with a tentative knock before opening the door to his call.
Lee’s sitting on his bed in just his boxers, a lit cigarette in his hand. You know you should be more flustered but your body moves all on its own. It knows where home is. Lee doesn’t even say a word. He just opens his arms and accepts you into his lap as you press kisses to his lips. A bit chapped and he smelled of smoke but you knew you were right where you need to be.
“Nightmare?” Lee smirks as you pull away for air.
You smile and shake your head. “Your little girl missed you.”
“Can’t fuck with her routine.” Lee pulls you back into him. You didn’t know how much was actually wrong until you felt this right. Strong arms wrapped around you, cradled so delicately against a warm body. Your fingers cling to Lee’s shoulders while his hands encircle your waist. “Stay with me?” This was a question. A request really. One you can’t say no to. You nod once and curl back into him. He pulls you down into the bed, holding you tightly against him. Lee takes a last drag of his cigarette before putting it out and focusing solely on you.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted you in my bed,” Lee sighs, pressing his face into your shoulder. His stubble tickles your skin so pleasantly making you smile. You probably have an idea but you keep that to yourself as one of your fantasies plays out.
Here, comfort is easy to find. It feels right, smells right. It’s better than your own bed. Baby curls up on the pillow behind you. Her soft purrs lulling you as Lee strokes to back of your neck, his fingers tracing the top of your spine, exploring just a little under your borrowed shirt. Just enough to keep you warm and close. You let out a soft content sigh and fall asleep almost instantly.
Waking up is hard. You don’t remember sleeping so deeply. You attempt to detangle yourself from the unfamiliar sheets before you feel a body behind you. The events of the previous night flood back to your mind as you stretch and yawn. “Lee?” He hums softly, thwarting your attempt to sit up as he immediately pulls you back down against him.
You smile at his stubborn tiredness. “We have to get up.”
“We’re playing hooky,” he mumbles.
Hooky? Is the sheriff allowed to just take the day off? “What about me?” You laugh tiredly.
“What about ‘we’re’ don’t you understand?” Lee grumbles.
“Are you sure?” You ask in disbelief.
“Go back to sleep, momma.” Getting some extra rest did sound amazing. You turn over, giving your shoulder a break, and curl back up in Lee’s embrace. You rest your head on his warm chest, your fingers curling into the thick hair there. You close your eyes as your leg wraps over Lee’s hips. Sure, you could just fall back to sleep. Falling back asleep sounded amazing…
“Lee,” you whisper. He lets out another gruff hum. “I’ve never slept at a man’s house before.”
“Don’t tell me you’re a virgin,” he chuckles.
“No!” You quickly deny. “I’ve just never stayed over.”
A deep hum rumbles through his body. “Glad I could be your first.” You smile up at him and place a kiss on his lips. “One more,” he requests softly and you happily obliged. “Last one?” You giggle and kiss him again. “Can’t get enough of those pretty lips pretty girl.” You curl into his side and actually start to nod off.
For a moment.
Before Baby leaps onto the bed and lets out a questioning chirp.
“Now you’ve gone and woke the baby,” Lee accuses turning over to hold you with both arms.
“Me?” Your voice causes the kitten to let out a happy meow and jumps over Lee to lick your nose. “Oh! Baby!” You laugh pulling her from your face.
He yawns and squeezes you. “She never does that to me.”
“She’s happy her momma’s here,” you goad. Lee retaliates by spanking you softly. “Aren’t you so happy your mommy’s here? You don’t have to play with your mean old daddy,” you coo at the little kitten, stroking her stomach when she rolls over for pets.
Lee’s big hand runs over your stomach much more intimately than any other touch he’s given you. His thumb runs just under your breast sending heat radiating straight down to your pussy.
“If you two are busy playing,” his hand comes to a rest between your breasts as he rolls over you slightly, pinning you under him, “who’s gonna play with me?” You let out a soft gasp. Your hips lift to find any kind of friction for your core but your lack of panties makes that impossible.
Until Lee’s thigh fills that space. You let out a soft whimper as he grinds back against you.
“Do you need daddy to play with you, too, momma?” You can’t find your voice but you can nod. Lee kisses just behind your ear and you feel like you’re floating. “Let me hear you tell me.” He grinds a little harder against your fluttering core making your whine.
“I-I need you, daddy,” you whimper into the pillow.
His voice is a deep rumble through him as he nuzzles his face against your neck, nipping lightly at your ear lobe. “What do you need?”
Ugh! This should be criminal. His thumb strays to brush against your clothed nipple making you arch against him.
“Need you, Lee!” You cry out.
“That’s all you had to say.” You can hear the smile in his voice. “Since you’ve never stayed with a man then I’m guessing you’ve been missing out on the joys of mornin’ sex?”
“Uh-huh,” you whine, your hips gyrating against his thick thigh, taking what you need from him.
“Well, that’s one of the best games a man and a woman can play.” His fingers undo the top couple buttons of your borrowed pjs just enough for your bare cleavage to show through.
“When do we start, daddy?” You breathe. You’re so close. So fucking close. Lee can barely focus on anything but the way your hips move for him and you can’t focus on anything but the way he feels against you. “Oh fuck,” you groan as you cum against his thigh.
“Now,” Lee smiles watching you come apart before him. Your thighs constrict around his as you feel your high pulsing through you. Your whole body rolls slightly at how good it feels until a telltale bulge presses into you. You let out a soft, surprised chirp and roll your head to face him. Your hand finds his soft belly and travels lower and lower until you can palm his hard on.
Oh. He’s big.
You bite your lower lip and grip him through his boxers.
“Now, look who’s playing,” Lee grunts and sits up to press his boxers down. You unbutton your shirt the rest of the way before Lee notices. “Come here, beautiful.” He pulls you onto his lap and presses your shirt from your shoulders. “Gorgeous,” he sighs and palms your breasts.
“Me or my boobs?” You smile.
“Both.” You giggle and reach between your thighs to jack him off. He makes the most blissed out face. It’s gorgeous. You rub the bead of precum he produces over his tip and down his shaft and, God, you can’t wait for him to fill you up.
“You do have condoms, don’t you? Or do you really want another baby?”
“I’d love to have a baby with you,” Lee mutters pining you with those icy eyes. Your pussy flutters just thinking about him fucking you until you’re pregnant and completely full of him. “Top drawer.” He nods to one of the bedside tables and you shake yourself from your perverted thoughts. You climb over him to find them giving him the perfect view of your ass. He grips it roughly as you rummage through his beside table until you find what you’re looking for.
“I’m surprised you didn’t know exactly where they are,” Lee jokes as you reclaim his lap.
“I don’t go through your things,” you quickly deny.
“Then you’d have no idea where I put my spare car keys?”
“First drawer in the table by the door,” you recite quickly.
“Don’t go through my things, huh?” Your face heats after he catches you red handed but Lee only laughs at your embarrassment. “This is practically your house, momma. I’d expect you to know where everything is. Now, if we can get back to what we were doing,” he trails making you smile and focus back on his cock.
You roll the condom down his shaft as you continue to jack him off until he’s practically begging for you. Then you finally lift your hips to feel the bliss of his heavy cock filling you so perfectly.
“Fuck, daddy,” you whine as he stretches you.
“God, you’re tight,” Lee grunts. You hold yourself there with him deep inside of you as your body adjusts. You could live on this cock alone. You take a shuttering breath before finally meeting his gaze again. “Come ‘er, momma,” Lee groans pulling you down to his chest. He flips you onto your side and pulls your thigh over his hip once more. “Liked having you like this. Felt so good.” You start to rock your hips experimentally making Lee groan out your name. Your hips roll into his while he holds your ass, encouraging your pleasure, until you find that spot. Deep inside of you, there’s a little spot that you know will have you screaming in no time. You aim Lee’s tip there over and over leaving you a whining mess for him.
“Right there? Is that where you want me?” Lee asks with a small smile. You can only nod and push further into his chest. Lee chuckles at the mess you’ve made of yourself and can only think of how much more he’s going to ruin you.
He rolls you completely under him, his bulk a settling weight over you. Lee carefully arranges your thighs around him, placing them safely over his own.
Then he fucking destroys you.
You don’t know where you end and he begins but you know it’s perfect. Your voice comes out in sharp shouts at the peak of each of his thrusts. “That’s my girl,” Lee grunts as he rails into you. His movements so precise. So perfect. His weight, his hold on you. It’s all so good.
Lee presses a kiss you your lips to still your whimpers but you can’t help it, it feels so right. Your cries get louder as you feel that knot inside you get tighter and higher. One of your thighs hooks around his back while the other presses into his hips. Just a little more. Just a little deeper…
“Right there! Please, Lee! Right th-aaah ah ah ah!” You squeak as you cum undone. Your eyes flutter shut and stars dance behind you lids as waves of pleasure pulse through you.
You hips spasm into Lee’s sporadically as he chuckles breathlessly. “That good, momma?” You can only bite your lip and squirm under him in response. He presses his lips against yours once more, kissing you until you come back around and start kissing him back. Your hands cup his face pulling him into more kisses before wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
“You’re amazing, daddy,” you sigh contently against his lips.
He grins back at you before rolling back over on his back, pulling you with him. “Your turn.” You smile sheepishly at your chance to pleasure him.
“My turn,” you whisper. Your hands find his shoulders and lean over him, finding some leverage on your knees.
You bounce on his hips experimentally, feeling his girth drag against your walls until he’s back against that spot but this is for him…
You spread your legs a little wider to allow for his frame to fit a little more comfortably between them. Then you lean back, one hand resting somewhere near his knee while the other rubs his soft belly. Your hips loose another experimental wave before letting go and humping into him. It feels like he’s ripping you apart in such a good way. Lee’s hand finds your hip as he guides you slightly but you didn’t need much. You seemed to fit each other perfectly. Know each other carnally. Neither of you need much coaching. It all seemed to flow.
“Fuck, momma. That’s it. Little faster,” he spanks your thigh to egg you on.
“You like that, daddy?” You smile.
“I fucking love that,” Lee groans. You lean over him to press a kiss to his lips while you continue to ride him. Fuck he feels so heavy and good and right inside of you. You let out a soft moan.
So perfect.
His other hand wraps around you and starts to help you along, thrusting up into you and meeting your soft waves. Curses tumble from your lips every time he hits a particularly sensitive spot inside of you until it starts to feel like he’s aiming for it. Over and over until you’re like jello in his grip, holding on limply while he fucks you within an inch of your life.
“Fuck, I’m gonna cum, momma,” Lee groans.
“Please, Lee! I need you,” you babble, so close to your own breaking point.
“Gonna get you there,” he promises and his thrust get rougher and faster and he knows right where he needs to abuse you. Before you know it you’re gasping and tossing your head back in a silent scream as you cum around him.
“Shit,” Lee groans and quickly follows you, spilling his seed into the condom still buried inside of you. You both pant for air, watching each other as you glow in your after shocks.
Those bright blue eyes watch you, taking all of you in from your mussed hair to your soft curves. “You okay, momma?” Lee asks after catching his breath. You just nod and collapse into his warm chest. He chuckles softly and wraps his arms around you. “Fuck, you’re beautiful.”
“You’re beautiful,” you counter with a small smile burying your face in his chest. You could stay like this forever.
But Lee’s growling stomach says otherwise.
“I’ll go make us some breakfast.” You attempt to pull away but Lee keeps his grip on you.
“I’ll help,” he insists and help he does. Helps by swatting your behind under his borrowed shirt and helps by pressing kisses to your neck while you fry eggs and he really helps when he pulls down his pants and has you keep his cock warm for him while he eats. He’s such a good helper you think as he rails you against the dining room table after he finishes his breakfast.
Lunch are simple ham and cheese sandwiches after you choke on his cock and dinner is your pussy spread over the kitchen counter right before your roast finishes in the oven.
You really don’t want to leave but you didn’t have a change of clothes and living the rest of your life in Lee’s borrowed shirts didn’t seem practical. So Lee begrudgingly takes you home after a long day of hard work with his help.
“Where the hell have you been?” Your mother shouts the moment you set foot through the door, breaking you from the spell Lee put you under.
You freeze before you even have a chance to close the door behind you. “Get in this house before anyone else sees you running the streets!” You’re floored by the accusation but follow her direction and silently stepping into the house.
“Where are have you been?” She repeats a little more calmly but you know better. There’s a level of anger you’ve never met under that calm.
“I called and told you I’d be at Lee’s late.” Yesterday you don’t add and hope she forgets all about that by keeping your tone even.
“Lee’s?” You mother frowns. “That’s awfully familiar for the sheriff.”
“Oh my god,” you mutter under your breath. Were you really about to get yelled at because of this?
“Girl, you know I don’t allow that kind of back talk in my house. Now, you told me you’d be home late and then we never heard another word from you for an entire day! Where have you been?”
Oh boy.
“Well, it’s just that, mom. I lost track of time and stayed late so he had me stay for dinner and at that point it was so late he just told me to stay in the guest room. I didn’t want to call and wake the whole house…”
“I don’t care if you wake the whole neighborhood. I want to know where my daughters are once the sun sets.”
This is ridiculous.
“Mom, I’ve been in an entirely different state for the past six years,” you argue.
“As long as you’re under my roof, you’re under my rules! You could’ve been dead in a ditch! You could’ve been hanging!”
“Oh, mother! Honestly,” you sigh, stamping your foot lightly on the ground.
“To your room. Now.”
“I’m almost 30. You can’t just send me to my room,” you argue. “I’m only here to take care of you. Not to be treated like a child. I should be in California but I’m stuck here. For you. And as long as I’m here for you, I can do whatever I want outside of this house!”
Shock is written all over your mother’s face by your words. You’re shocked by your words. You’ve never talked back to your mother. The look of hurt and anguish on her face is heartbreaking.
You take a calming breath and move to sit on the couch across from her. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t speak to you that way.”
“No, you shouldn’t,” she agrees.
“I haven’t done anything to make it seem like I’ll make bad decisions in life, have I?” You ask the woman, resting your elbows on your knees tiredly. “I didn’t drop out of college, get pregnant, and work at a dinner. I’m not the one that needs to be policed. If I want to spend the night at my boss’s house, then you just have to trust me.”
She watches you for a moment. “What’s he like?” She finally questions.
You contemplate the question for a moment. “He’s very sweet. And so smart. We have a cat. Her name is Baby. He just wants to help people.”
“Was it good?” She laughs.
“Mother!” You cry out of embarrassment, covering your face.
“You can tell me,” she smiles. “He’s a good looking man. I may be sick but I still have eyes, girl.”
You regard her with a shy smile for a moment before deciding to answer. “It was amazing.” She cackles at your answer making you giggle. “I hear a lot of talk about white men but I’ve never heard anything about Europeans,” she trails.
“Alright, I’m not talking about this anymore,” you laugh and stand up. “What do you want for dinner?”
“What’d you make Lee?” Your face immediately heats as you spin away to the kitchen.
“Not talking about it!” You cry as you rush away.
You hum softly to the radio while sweeping. It was a hot day. The sun was working over time but you were enjoying the slight breeze from open windows and the freshly made lemonade and iced tea you conjured up this morning. But that wasn’t the only thing changing. Lee was taking Mondays off again and sometimes Fridays. You loved when he took Fridays off. Lee was always in such a good mood. You’d let yourself in and crawl into his bed and curl up next to his warm sleeping body. Sometimes he’d fuck you until you couldn’t think straight and sometimes you’d just sleep in and only get out of bed because of Baby’s screaming.
This morning was one of those fuck your brains out mornings.
It left you feeling like you were walking on a cloud. It always made it impossible to do actual work in this condition. Lee didn’t expect you to. He expected you to be his little house wife on days like this. To serve him food and ride his dick accordingly. And you were happy to oblige.
“This one’s about you, Baby,” you smile at the cat perched on the back of Lee’s couch as she watches the broom go back and forth. Desi Arnez’s voice crones through the speakers with one of the songs from the popular sitcom.
“There’s a brand new baby at our house, the nicest little gift we've ever had,” you sing along, dancing around the broom while Baby watches on in amusement.
You remain oblivious to a second set of eyes on you, watching you twirl gracefully around the living room. You’re so beautiful.
Lee waits until you’re facing away from him to make his move. He slinks up behind you and wraps his arms comfortably around your waist making you jump in surprise.
“Oh, Lee!” You giggle swatting his arm.
“Did I scare you, momma?” He chuckles before burying his face in your neck and dancing along with you. Your hands wrap over his while you sway to the music. He releases you into a turn before pulling you back into him. “I didn’t know you liked dancing,” Lee sighs into your skin.
“You never asked,” you smile.
“I should take you out.”
“That would imply that we’re actually dating.”
“Aren’t we?” He questions but you know it’s not really a question. This is something the two of you have yet to really flesh out. Dating meant marriage and marriage meant…
“You know I can’t stay here forever,” you remind the sheriff gently.
“Can’t you?” There’s another one of those fake questions. He knows you can’t. You have a passion beyond cleaning houses. You want to help people. “You can just move in here. I’ll take care of you. Give you whatever you want. Give you a baby.”
“We have a baby, Lee,” you smile sadly. He spins you in his grip to make you face him but you avoid his gaze.
“Look at me-“
“Lee.”
“I’ll talk to administrators over there-“
“Lee.”
“I’m the law around here and what I say goes-“
“Lee!”
“And I want you to stay!”
“I won’t work somewhere I’m not wanted!” You cry, finally looking up at him. “Every day will be an uphill battle and I don’t want to fight.”
“Not even for me?”
Shit.
That breaks you. You didn’t know how much of a hold he had on your heart until this moment. Could you leave him? Leaving him would mean one of the most devastating things in your life just happened. Could you live without his comfort? Without running home to him when you could no longer run home?
“I-I wish we could stay like this forever,” you whisper, dropping your head to his chest.
“I would never let you do it on your own. You know that. You’ll always have me. You just need to choose me, too.”
He makes it sound so simple. Like he can just go in and threaten an entire hospital and come out victorious. But you know better. That’s a fairy tale and the real world doesn’t work like that.
He holds you like that for a long moment. Long enough for Baby to come paw at your skirt to check on you.
“Your momma’s trying to get rid of us, little girl.” The kitten screams up at you as if she knows exactly what Lee’s talking about. Her giant blue eyes stare up at you expectantly. Just like her daddy’s.
“Lee,” you warn, not wanting to discuss it anymore.
“One date,” he asks. “I’ll come pick you up and we’ll dance all night. Then you can tell me to leave you alone and it will go back to me being your boss and nothing else.”
“But Lee-“
“It’s gotta end somewhere,” he argues. “We can’t keep playing house forever.”
Can’t we?
You got all dolled up under the scrutiny of your sister and mother. “Who are you going out with? Where are you going?” You just ignore them while blushing your cheeks. You don’t know why you’re getting so dressed up. Lee’s seen you at your worst and still seems to find something he likes. It was nice knowing you didn’t have to look your best for him. That was the kind of thing you wanted in a man.
There were a lot of things about Lee you wanted…
But you couldn’t stay here.
Right?
You can’t stay here?
It’s backward and racist. You have a one way ticket to California. A brand new place built on different principles. You could finally kiss this bible belt southern town goodbye for good. And that’s exactly what you want?
You’d find someone your age. Maybe a lawyer or a doctor.
But they wouldn’t be Lee.
There’s a knock at the front door while you apply your powder numbly.
“I’ll get it,” you sister sighs and makes her way to the door. You hear Lee’s deep drawl and you’re instantly drawn in. His voice, his laugh.
“You’re in love.”
Your gaze snaps up to your mother in the mirror’s reflection. There’s a smug look on her face that says it all. “You’re in love and you’re scared.” She shrugs with a soft laugh. “The heart wants what the heart wants. Stop fighting it, girl.” She leaves to go greet Lee and tell him you’ll be out in a minute.
Tears start to fill your eyes. Is it that obvious? Are you in love? How were you supposed to go out and have a good time with all of this on your mind? A tear escapes your control as you hear your mom directing him back to your room. You attempt to quickly wipe it away but he sees you just as you dab at your eye with a tissue.
“You that upset to go out with me?” Lee jokes, leaning against the door frame. He looks so nice in a blue dress shirt and slacks. Like your own personal dream. You just want him to hold you but you don’t want depend on him. Right? You want to be your own woman but you want to be his so badly…
He gives your reflection a once over. “You look fucking gorgeous, momma. Too beautiful to be crying.”
“I’m just feeling a little lost,” you admit after sniffling softly.
“Well, finish up. We’ll talk in the car.” You nod slightly and attempt to finish you makeup quickly while your family entertains Lee.
This is as good as it’s going to get. You give yourself one last once over. You brush a hand down your blush pink dress and make sure your curls are perfectly placed. Some part of the back of your mind reminds you that you need to look good on Lee’s arm and that not just anyone can go out with the sheriff. You need to put on a smile and act like everything is-
You quickly squash that notion. Lee’s never expected any more of you than to take care of yourself, him, and Baby. That wasn’t going to change now.
You take a deep breath and step into the living room. Lee is instantly on his feet. “There’s my girl.” Your face heats as you look away.
“You mind your manners and have a good time,” your mother bids placing a kiss on your cheek before Lee wraps his arm around you.
“She’s in good hands,” he promises and leads you out to his car. “We have a reservation to make,” Lee sighs opening the door for you.
You give him a dubious look when he settles into the driver’s seat. “None of the restaurants around here need a reservation,” you frown skeptically.
“We ain’t eating around here,” he smirks. “Come here, momma. What’s going on in that pretty head?” You smile slightly up at him before sliding across the bench to sit at his side. His strong arm wraps around you as you rest your hand on his belly. “Or we can just cuddle if you don’t feel like talking.” He rubs his hand up and down your arm comfortingly. You don’t exactly feel like talking but it seems like you have a bit of a drive ahead of you. He peels out of your neighborhood and on to the main road as the radio crones on with big band music.
“I want to talk,” you whisper. Lee only pulls his hand away for a moment to turn off the radio before focusing back on you. His hand finds your waist and pulls you a little closer. “I-I don’t want to stay here, Lee. You know that. But I love you. I can’t see having to go on without you. I don’t want to go on without you.”
A soft hum rumbles through him before he speaks. “Then what are we going to do about that?”
“I’ll apply for the local hospital again, I guess.”
“You guess?” Lee jokes. “Or you can be my little stay at home wife. Pretend you’re in California all you want. I’ll plant some palm trees and put in a pool. You can take care of Baby all day. She would love that.”
You laugh softly. “Maybe I’ll have to be your own personal nurse. Take care of my big strong man when he’s sick.”
“Will you dress up in one of those skimpy little outfits?”
“For you, of course.”
You reach up to press a kiss to his cheek but he pulls you back for a quick kiss. “I love you so much, momma. I’d do anything for you. Don’t ever forget that.” You nod and let out a little giggle. “Now, give me another kiss.” You happily oblige. “One more. So fucking good for me. Now sit back before I have to stop this car and remind you why you love me so much.” You let out a laugh and curl back into him.
A little over an hour later, he stops at a very popular looking club in Columbus.
“We came all the way out here to go dancing?” You smile, scooting across the car bench to look out the window.
“The clubs in town are stale as hell,” Lee sighs and moves to get out of the car.
“Wait!” You cry, stopping him as the valet reaches his door. “Thank you for this, daddy.” You press another kiss to his lips that quickly turns into a show for the valet.
“Save some of that energy for later,” Lee smiles and presses a kiss to your forehead before finally stepping out of the car.
You expected to get all kind of looks: the sheriff out with that little black girl that ran off to the big city and had to come crawling back with her tail between her legs…alright, no one’s ever said that but you know someone’s thinking it. Maybe. But this far from home…
No one knows you here. They don’t even seem to care that you’re different races. It was…nice. You giggle softly as Lee dips you only to pull you back up into a soft kiss.
“I’m really glad I said yes,” you smile as he holds you close.
“So much for all those tears,” Lee chuckles making you roll your eyes. That was one time. “I gotta talk to you,” Lee mutters against your lips before pulling you back to your table. “I didn’t know a good time to tell you this but I talked to one of the managers at the hospital.”
“Ugh, Lee! I don’t want to think about that drama! Can’t we just enjoy our night?” You whine taking a drink of your cocktail.
“You think I’d tell you bad news right now? I’m trying to get laid tonight.” You can’t help but laugh at him. “Got you another interview.”
“But we just talked about this,” you argue in disbelief. You literally just told him you’d stay less than an hour ago in the car.
“I might have done some shit behind your back,” the sheriff admits. When you let out an annoyed huff but he quickly continues. “I just knew you wouldn’t leave me.”
“So sure of yourself.” You roll your eyes at him. “And what’d you do to get this interview? Hold him up at gun point?”
“Somethin’ like that,” Lee drawls, leaning back in his chair with a smug look on his face. You just smile and shake your head at him. “All we did was talk. I promise no one got hurt. No threats were made.”
“Really?”
“Why would I lie to you, momma?”
“You’d certainly arrange things without telling me,” you pout but then give him a once over, pulling your bottom lip between your teeth. He is doing this for you, too. He knew how hard it was being away from family while you were in school. You loved your independence but you liked the comfort of having a steady place that’s home. He wanted to be that home. Your steady place.
You don’t want anything else in the world besides that.
“I guess you’re getting laid tonight.”
He gives you a shit eating grin that tells you all you need to know before leaning back on the table. “How do you plan on thanking me?”
“What would you like, daddy?” You ask innocently, looking at him through your lashes. “I can suck your big, fat dick? Or keep you warm all night? Or maybe…”
“Maybe?”
“Maybe I’ll let you fuck a baby into me.”
“Fuck, momma,” Lee groans before adjusting his pants not so subtly. “You done here? I gotta get you home.”
“Maybe we should get a hotel,” you suggest thinking about how long the drive is.
“Car’s free,” Lee grins pulling you from your seat and toward the door.
It doesn’t take him long to find a dark alley and it takes you absolutely no time find yourself on your knees at his side choking on his cock.
“Fuck, momma,” Lee groans spanking your ass as it wiggles in the air. “Didn’t know you had all that in you.” You let out a satisfying hum as you swallow him making him moan. You feel his fingers hitching up your dress inch by inch. He spanks you again once he clears the fabric and grips your cheek through your panties. “That’s it. My perfect girl.” He slides his hand under the fabric to find your slit already soaking for him. “You want my cock, momma? You’re so wet for me.” You nod as much as you can around him and Lee grips the roots of your hair, dragging your face up to meet his with a sloppy kiss. You moan into his mouth as you cup his face with your hands, feeling the rough stubble from the day.
Lee lets out a soft grunt as he repositions you across the car bench. His face nuzzles kisses against your neck. “I love you so fucking much. You know that, momma?” He mutters. His finger trace the band of your underwear before slipping them down your legs. You can only whimper as your mind races to how he’s going to destroy you.
“Need you, daddy.”
Those bright blue eye flick up to you, pinning you with his gaze. “You got me,” he assures you. You hear his belt buckle and moments later he’s stretching your core to its max. He’s so big and fills you so perfectly. You can feel every bump and vein and it’s so right. You’ve had sex with him regularly but this time felt special. You’ve never taken a man raw before. You felt ready.
Lee’s hips start to thrust into you erasing everything from your mind but him. He knows you so well that he doesn’t need to search for that spot. He just goes straight for it and has you screaming for him. Your stockinged foot finds the steering wheel for a bit of leverage so you can thrust back into him.
His hand grips the back of your thigh, helping you out while he folds you into yourself just so he can get a little deeper. You curse as he grinds against that spot mercilessly. His weight is so comfortable on top of you. You always want this. You want him by your side, to wake up next to him every day, to grow old with him. And as he gets you so close to your peak, you know you can’t live without him. “Lee! Fuck! P-please! I’m so close!”
A soft chuckle emits from the man before he presses a kiss to your lips. “You’re so fucking cute when you’re falling apart for me. Let go. I’ll catch you.”
You nod vigorously. Your eyes squeeze shut as your focus is set on your core and how much pressure he’s putting on you.
Whimpers falls from your lips as your hips sputter into his smooth thrusts, chasing your high.
“Please, please, please, please,” you chant just loud enough for Lee to hear.
“Begging for it now?” Lee laughs. His hips snap into yours now, giving you exactly what you need.
You’re a whining whimpering mess when you finally cum. Stars shoot across your closed lids as you try to smoother your face between the bench and Lee’s kisses.
“Good girl. Always my good girl,” Lee praises. Your body clenches around him at his words and he instantly knows something new about you.
He pulls away from your kiss covered jaw to watch you with an amused look. Your body is still writhing with pleasure under him and he can’t wait to give you move.
“You like being my good girl, momma? Wanna keep me happy?”
You moan at his words, humping against him, wanting him to move again but he continues to grind into the spot driving you crazy.
“Use your words,” he chuckles brushing a mussed curl from your forehead.
“I-I wanna be your good girl,” you whimper, finally cracking your eyes open to meet his gaze.
“Then you’ll make me happy and stay here?”
You stare at him for a beat before you nod. “I’ll stay.”
A smile spreads across his lips before he gets back to destroying you.
“Fuck,” he groans softly, your core keeps squeezing him mercilessly but you can’t control it. He can’t control it either as he slams into you despite your grip on him. You need him so bad. You need him to make you his wife. You need to take care of him. You need him to take care of you. You’ve never needed anything or anyone so bad in your adult life.
“You feel amazing, momma. Made just for me, you know that?”
“I’m yours,” you cry, your head tossed back against the seat so close to your peak again.
“All mine,” Lee sighs. “You gonna cum with me?”
“Uh huh!” You exhale. “Wanna be your good girl! Wanna cum for you, daddy!”
“Fuck!” Lee growls gripping your thigh a little tighter. The thought that it might bruise ghosts through your mind but you welcome it. He’s leaving his mark on you. Claiming you. It just makes you hotter. Tighter. Wetter.
“That’s it, momma. Cum for me,” he begs, his hips snapping into yours now.
So close. So close. Just a little- “Lee-eh-eh-eak!” You scream as you cum, spilling onto his stomach and the base of his cock. Lights flash behind your lids and you’re left a moaning mess as he fills you to the brim. You feel his seed leak past your lips to pool between you but he stays buried deep as ribbons of cum paint your insides, ready to do it’s job and make sure you’re full of him for the next nine months.
Of course, you know that its a relatively safe day for unprotected sex.
But part of you hopes it took.
Lee’s breaths come in quiet huffs as you writhe under him. He stays buried in you while he slowly softens, giving you just that little bit of extra friction. “You alright, momma?” He smiles before pressing a kiss to your lips. You chase after them blindly as he pulls away, not ready to open your eyes. No ready for the euphoria to end.
“More kisses,” is your only response and Lee happily obliges. He bombards you with kisses until you’re both gasping for air and space. Lee lets out a soft sigh and sits up, pulling you up with him. He easily slips from you and you contract, attempting to keep all of his essence inside.
“Fuck,” Lee chuckles seeing his handy work between your legs. “Look at you just leaking with cum. You’re gonna make me hard again.” You smile and glance away, embarrassed. “Let me clean you up.” Lee finds his handkerchief in his back pocket and gently cleans up your core. “Relax or you’ll be holding it the entire drive,” he jokes. You let out a soft sigh and attempt to push out what you’ve been holding on to. “Good girl,” Lee praises making you giggle and bury your face in your hands. “Shit. If I knew that had so much power over you, I’d have said since day one.”
“You did once pretty early on,” you admit. “I fell asleep with my fingers in me that night.”
Lee laughs softly and is such a nice noise. You want to hear it forever.
“Well, shit! Tell me next time you need to jack off to something I said. I wanna watch.” You giggle even harder leaning back against the door as Lee finds your panties. He slips them back up your legs and over your hips so gently. He knows by now that he has to be careful with you after fucking you into a stupor. You watch as he slips on your shoes and places a soft kiss on each ankle.
He’s perfect.
“Lee?” He hums softly before looking up at you. “I love you.”
He just smirks back at you. “I love you more.”
You doze at Lee’s side as he drives you back to town. He hasn’t decided if he’ll take you home or to his place. You don’t care either way. You mom knows not to wait up. But you hope he’ll take you home. His home. Where your Baby is. And where your man is. Your fingers grip his thigh in your sleep, trying to keep him close even in your dreams. Your little hand is so close to his cock he starts to get stiff again.
He chuckles softly so he doesn’t wake you. “Guess you're coming home with me, huh?”
You wait in the sterile administration room of Mead General. Lee pretty much had to drop you off at the entrance to make you come. No amount of convincing could calm your nerves that morning. You fiddle with the new ring on your finger in an attempt to calm them.
The engagement ring Lee gave you.
It was enormous. You could practically see yourself in the diamond. It wasn’t you at all but Lee insisted on it. Nothing less than perfect for his girl.
Who knew it would become such a comfort.
A secretary calls your name and you gather up your resume and credentials to go through this torture one more time.
“Head up, momma. You’re the sheriff’s fiancée now. I need you to act like it.” Lee’s voice echos in your mind from when he dropped you off. You roll your shoulders back and add a little more confidence to your step.
Here goes nothing.
Lee leans against his car as he waits. It’s far too hot to sit in there and bake so he found a spot under a tree to wait for you. He glances up from lighting a cigarette to see the hospital security guard walking up to him like a man on a mission.
“Shit,” Lee sighs. The last thing he wanted to deal with was the public.
“Mr. Sheriff, Sir,” the man grins and holds out his hand.
Lee puts on a smile and tucks his sunglasses into his shirt pocket. “Sir,” Lee greets. “How can I help you?”
“Ronald, Sir. I just wanted to thank you for all that you do for our town. Keeping the social order and all.”
Lee can’t help but cock his brow at the phrase. Keeping the social order?
“This is one of the few places not assaulted with progressive ideas. Separate but equal will always prevail.”
He hadn’t enforced Jim Crow is over a year. Had nobody seemed to notice law enforcement stopped responding to their ‘coloreds using whites only facilities’ calls? They probably had their heads too far up their asses.
Lee gives the man a once over. “Right.” He looks up to notice you leaving the hospital. He sees you stop and glance around for him before he decides to go get you.
“What’s that little negro doing in there?” Ronald asks immediately noticing you. Apparently he wasn’t that great at his job if he never registered that you were there.
Lee smirks at your lithe form in the pencil skirt and blouse you picked out for your interview. He couldn’t wait to get you home to peel them off of you.
“I’ll handle this,” Lee sighs before stamping out his cigarette butt and making his way toward you.
You instantly light up at the sight of him, you almost fall into his arms in relief at a friendly face.
“How’d it go, momma?”
“I felt like they were interrogating me,” you breathe, letting out a soft laugh.
“Trying to scare you off,” Lee sighs. “What’d they say?”
You smile up at him excitedly. “I got it!”
“That’s my girl,” Lee grins. You notice his hands placed firmly on his hips but continues to regard you with beaming pride.
You cock a brow at him. “What are you up to out here?”
Lee bites his bottom lip, trying to hold back a laugh. “I gotta tell you something first. I know I threw a fit and started all that mess about that old junk-stuff in the basement,” he corrects himself with a soft eye roll.
“Oh, Lee,” you coo softly at the start of his apology. “That was so long ago. I’m not upset-”
“Just let me finish,” he interrupts. “I’m glad you made me keep it. I want our kids to see it. To know where they came from.”
You smile up, suddenly so proud of this man that was about to become you husband. You prepare to leap into his arms but he stops you with a gentle hand. He gestures toward the elderly security guard standing cross armed in the shade. “Now, back to what I was up to. That man over there thinks you’re up to no good.”
You burst into watery laughter at his words, attempting to hold back your happy tears long enough to let Lee play his joke. He really does pick the worst times to get sentimental. “What’s he gonna do? I work here now. Should we give him a show? Make his day?”
Lee’s smirk turns into a grin. “Really play it up for me, alright? Don’t hold back.”
You nod and stifle a giggle as Lee grips your forearm and attempts to drag you to his car. “Unhand me, you-you side burned Neanderthal!” You cry while flailing aimlessly. Lee stops to look back at you. “Too much?”
“That kinda hurt, momma.”
“Sorry,” you giggle glancing away, hoping your little character break isn’t caught. “I didn’t do anything! I had an interview! I swear!” You continue loudly, attempting to garnish attention.
“Anything you say can be used against you, ma’am, and I happen to know on good authority that this hospital doesn’t hire colorereds.”
“Are you calling me a liar?”
“If the shoe fits.”
“What are you arresting me for?” You counter, fruitlessly attempting to tug out of his grip.
“Lying to an officer, resisting arrest, trespassing, belligerent behavior-”
“Belligerent?” You bark.
“Just stating the facts,” Lee smirks, proud to deliver a low blow to return yours.
“Oh, you pig!” You hiss, just as Lee gets you to his car.
“Tell me how you really feel,” Lee sighs pressing your back into front passenger door. Those glaciers blue eyes meet yours and you just want to dive into them. They’re perfect.
“Well, sheriff daddy,” you whisper just for him. His hands circle your waist as he crowds you into the tiny space he made for you. It’s perfect. “Truth is, I’m really grateful for you. I wouldn’t have this opportunity without you.”
“Anything to keep you with me, momma.” Then Lee shocks the entire crowd of hospital spectators and presses a soft kiss to your lips. You smile against them and wrap your arms around his shoulders as he pulls you into a tighter embrace. “I love you,” Lee whispers against your lips.
“I love you,” you smile and press back into him. He’s perfect.

Robot HRT: Day 0
After months of seeing all the awesome therian HRT art on here, I decided to make my own entry. I can't draw, but I can write, so here is part 1 of robot hrt!
Harsh fluorescent light cascades off the clinically white walls of the doctor’s office. Ontop of a worn, particle board desk sits a high stack of papers - various consent forms and waivers all signed and stamped, and presented in triplicate. Behind it sits a weathered man, bald barring the sides, and bespectacled with coke bottle glasses. Whilst leafing through the pile, he glances at the woman across from him. Dark, tired eyes look back at him through markedly less thick glasses. Her cherubian face is emotionless beyond a clear look of exhaustion. To get to this point alone had been almost too much for her to handle, but finally she is here.
“Seems like you have all the necessary paperwork,” he says apprehensively. Taking a deep breath before continuing. “As you know, I normally specialize in metazoic HRT, but thanks to groundbreaking research we now offer what you’re requested.”
He remakes eye contact, looking for acknowledgement. The woman remains silent and still. None of this news to her. She’s who spent more than a year trying to get to this appointment after all.
“Yes, well, as I was saying, we do now offer the medication you desire. Micronized droidsterol, better known by the brand name of Cyberstrone, is a once daily, 200 MG capsule that you’d be taking each morning with breakfast. Unlike other medications, this is a complex network of nanomachines that will work in unison to replace organic materials with inorganic ones. Major effects early on are headaches and cramping, compulsion to eat metal and plastics, or drink oil and gasoline, as well as internal and external irritation as the cells are replaced. Side effects may include but are not limited to weight gain, weight loss, suicidal ideation, depersonalization, derealization, death, and even loss of humanity.”
On this last one, he yet again makes eye contact, searching for a reaction. Again, nothing. In reality, she had barely been listening. This rundown was nothing but a scare tactic. One final review of the risks to see if she could be swayed from this path.
Finally, she speaks. Her flat voice carrying no tone but impatience. “Is that all?”
“Well, yes, but it really is important you understand the severity of this choice. Afterall, this medication is rather new and...”
“Doctor, I understand.” She cuts him off, slightly raising her voice, yet remaining monotone. “I have been working towards this since Cyberstrone started human trials. I am fully aware of the risks, and the effects. Now, please stop wasting more of both our time, and, please, write me a prescription.”
The doctor sighs, but begins to enter information into the computer. “As you wish. This will be a 90 day supply, but I will need to see you every 30 days to check your progress. You can talk to my receptionist to schedule your first follow up.”
“Thank you. See you in a month, doctor.”

Chubtober Day 6!
We going with a WIP today, friends. I haven't had much time to write this weekend, but I wanted to share something with you so here is a snippet I have been working on.
It will eventually be posted as a part of the second chapter to last year's Chubtober finale - Full, Fuller, Fullest.
Definitely read that first before checking out this WIP otherwise, it won't make much sense lol!
---
Jimin should have realized sooner that a day or two wasn’t going to be enough to recover from his week-long stuffing. He also should have realized how much being full for a week straight would stretch out his stomach.
Getting ready for bed Sunday night after quite possibly the best week of his life was proving to be more of a challenge than he thought. He wouldn’t say that Jungkook fed him quite as much over the weekend because Jungkook wasn’t the instigator this time around.
Jimin snacked all day long Saturday and had been the one to overdo it all on his own with a few too many dumplings.
Sunday had been a slow afternoon, laying around and finishing their latest drama while Jimin emptied a bag of honey butter chips, two cups of instant ramen, a pint of ice cream, and a couple of random choco pies he found in the pantry - all washed down with a couple cans of Coke.
After brushing his teeth, Jimin lifted up his shirt to see that his stomach almost looked more bloated now than it did a few nights ago. He started to trace a faint pink line that popped up next to his belly button when Jungkook cleared his throat from the doorway of the bathroom.
“So much for that recovery weekend, huh?” Jungkook asked with a teasing smirk. He stepped behind Jimin and reached around to caress his belly.
Jimin leaned back into Jungkook’s chest as he rolled his eyes. “This is all your fault. It was your idea to begin with.”
“Oh no, my idea ended on Friday night. No one forced you to eat our whole snack supply this afternoon,” Jungkook replied, patting Jimin’s still-taut belly a few times.
“Well, someone did seem more focused on that than our show so maybe I had some motivation,” Jimin cut back, trying to hide both his growing smile and blushing cheeks.
Jungkook gently pulled Jimin’s shirt down and tugged his hand over to the other side of the bathroom. He slid their scale out with his foot and gestured for Jimin to step on.
“Well…I seem to remember that someone proposed an idea of his own a few nights ago so let’s see if the ‘recovery’ weekend worked in your favor.”
Jimin rolled his eyes again at Jungkook’s dramatics, but he did step onto the scale, not expecting much since it had only been two days. However, Jimin clearly had to stop making assumptions because the bright red “196.7” blinking up at him made his jaw drop.
“Shit, that's almost 4 more pounds. You definitely don’t need until your birthday. You’ll be 200 by Tuesday at this rate,” Jungkook said, in equal parts seriousness and teasing. He knew Jimin didn’t slow down over the weekend at all, but it certainly didn’t seem like that much.
Jimin let out an involuntary little whimper at Jungkook’s words, realizing he was absolutely right. Somehow Jimin’s little impulsive thought to eat the whole pizza last weekend had turned into him completely wrecking his self-control and metabolism.
He had gone from gaining a slow and casual fifty pounds over the last year to piling on over ten pounds in ten days. Obviously they couldn’t maintain the way he had been eating for the past week all the time, but Jimin knew that his outlandish, partial joke about doubling his gain over the next year was going to be more of a when rather than an if.
Something about that thought turned Jimin on more than he wanted to admit. If they didn’t have to work in the morning, he probably would have told Jungkook to go grab anything from the kitchen so he could feed him again.
Instead, Jimin led Jungkook to their bed and decided that a belly rub would have to be his consolation prize. He drifted off with Jungkook’s warm hands easing the tension of his full belly and his loving whispers lulling him to sleep.
—-
It was moments like this that made Jimin glad he was a freelance writer who could make his own schedule and work from the comfort of his own home. He had woken up to a still bloated and incredibly hungry belly the next morning.
He almost wanted to skip his entire routine and head straight for the kitchen, but he wasn’t ready to let all of his self control completely slip away. After doing his skin care, Jimin selected very comfortable and loose clothes, knowing that his sensitive belly actually needed to start recovering today.
While his coffee brewed, Jimin heated up the container of kimchi rice and made himself three fried eggs to put on top. He also realized that Jungkook had made him a milk bread and strawberry sandwich at some point, which he grabbed from the fridge.
As he scrolled through his emails, Jimin made quick work of his larger-than-normal breakfast. He knew this past week would increase his stomach capacity, so Jimin was going to try to get ahead of his hunger if he could.
His resolution after weighing himself last night was to eat intuitively now. His appetite was clearly leading him toward his goals so he should follow it.
Getting caught up in a list of editing changes kept his focus, not realizing that Jungkook was walking into his office until his partner was setting down a bowl and a cup on his desk. Jimin jumped slightly, looking up with a smile when he saw Jungkook’s smiling face above him.
“Just bringing you a snack, baby. I figured you could use one,” Jungkook said nonchalantly as if it were an innocent gesture.
Jimin laughed but had to agree that he was starting to feel a bit peckish. “Thank you. I hadn’t realized it was already 10:30.”
Jungkook kissed the top of his head in response before reaching down over Jimin’s shoulders until his hands landed on his belly. “Damn, can’t believe you are still so bloated. Maybe you’re stuck like this now.”
“I am not stuck like this,” Jimin replied dryly with a scoff. “I just need more time to settle. Someone kept me filled up like a balloon ready to pop for days on end.”
“Well, you know a balloon deflates eventually,” Jungkook said, dropping a kiss on Jimin’s cheek as he stepped away until he was in the doorway of the office then he continued, “but they don’t shrink.”
Jungkook winked at Jimin before turning to walk down the hall, his laugh echoing as he did. Jimin let out a little offended sound, thankful that Jungkook wasn’t still there to call out the bright red blush filling his cheeks from his teasing.
Jimin was quickly learning that maybe he and Jungkook were better at this whole gaining dynamic thing than they ever knew.
—-
Spending the rest of the day working helped Jimin be more mindful of his intake. He gratefully accepted the simple lunch Jungkook prepared for him, and he had a light snack after he logged off for the day.
Since Jimin had spent the entirety of the last week allowing Jungkook to cook and order all their food, he was looking forward to cooking dinner together. They decided to go with a vegetable stew recipe Jimin had been wanting to try and sat for a much slower-paced dinner than they had been having lately.
Jimin was certainly full after his full bowl of stew and generous helping of rice but not in the way he had been for the past week or so. He was comfortably full where any typical person would end their meal. Knowing that he really could use a break, Jimin did just that.
After dinner, he curled up with Jungkook and said that he was done for the night. He sipped on his water for a while to keep the desire for dessert away until they made their way to bed.
Jimin made an offhand comment about how he felt less bloated already and hoped for an empty and rested belly in the morning. Jungkook started having some suspicions that Jimin was yet again underestimating himself, but he kept quiet.
Quiet until the next morning when Jimin had the sudden revelation that maybe those ten or so pounds had already settled and it wasn’t just bloating after all.
“So, still looking pretty bloated, babe. Maybe you need another day to settle or maybe…”
Jimin looked up from staring at himself in the mirror, taking in Jungkook’s smug expression that confirmed what he was thinking as well. “Or maybe those ten pounds stuck to my belly and this is settled.”
Jungkook brought his arms around Jimin’s waist, patting a few times and enjoying the rippling movement across his now empty but just as round belly. “I’d say this is a bit more than ten. I mean, look at this gut. You have a proper potbelly now, Min.”
“Fuck, you’re right,” Jimin let out breathily, still feeling a bit shocked at this realization. He had been complaining about how all his weight goes straight to his bottom half for so long yet he wasn’t prepared for it finally changing.
Both wanted more than anything to head back to bed and appreciate this new discovery, but they couldn’t take another day off work.
Jimin asked Jungkook to join him in the shower before they realized that was not a good idea. They would lose track of time immediately and get wrapped up in exploring Jimin’s growing body.
Jungkook told Jimin that he would get clothes out for him and go make his breakfast instead. As much as he wanted to join him in the shower, Jungkook told himself to calm down.
Jimin found his chosen outfit lying on their bed, clearly much different than the oversized hoodies and sweatpants he had been wearing around the house lately. The t-shirt Jungkook picked was from college which had been snug when Jimin wore it six months ago.
He pulled on the pair of low-waisted leggings Jungkook picked first. Jimin usually wore them around the house with a cropped sweatshirt, but he hadn’t worn this pair in the last few weeks. The waistband further emphasized how his belly protruded forward all on its own now from where it was tucked below.
Jimin could feel that the shirt was going to be tight as he pulled it over his head. The sleeves hugged his upper arms more than before which was what he noticed first, but that thought came and went when Jimin realized that the hem of his shirt was barely meeting his waistband.
The fabric hugged his skin without a hint of extra room. It made his belly seemingly bigger and rounder than it already had grown to be recently. When Jimin looked himself up and down in the mirror, it was the first time since he started gaining that he genuinely thought ‘wow, I look fat’.
“Holy shit, you do look kind of fat,” Jungkook blurted out from the other side of the room.
Jimin’s head snapped toward him, not aware that Jungkook was back in the room or that he had said his thoughts out loud. Deciding to push a little farther, Jimin began to pout.
“It’s just the shirt, Gguk-ah. You picked an old one.”
Jungkook shook his head as he walked closer. “I don’t think it’s the shirt, Minnie. I think it’s what’s underneath.”
“That’s not true! If you got me a different shirt, it wouldn’t be as noticeable,” Jimin replied, hoping Jungkook would play into his little game.
“Oh yeah, how about we test that?” Jungkook asked, clearly enjoying this just as much. He stepped into their closet and grabbed a shirt that would likely still be small but was a size up.
Jimin couldn’t believe that he was feeling shy, but his face grew warm as he took off his shirt to change in front of Jungkook. He grabbed the other shirt and already anticipated the reaction just from feeling it slide over his shoulders.
It did have more give than the first shirt, but Jimin’s belly was just as prominent as before. If anything, the little bit of extra fabric was actually making him look wider.
“Seems like it wasn’t the shirt so that must mean-“
“It’s the leggings! Low-waisted pants just aren’t flattering,” Jimin countered, cutting Jungkook before he could make his point. “Breakfast ready? I need to start working soon.”
Jungkook barely held back his laugh as Jimin left the bedroom, evading the real answer that they both knew was true. Jimin truly hadn’t gained enough to be considered fat yet, but yet was the keyword for Jungkook because, with the way things were going, it would be sooner rather than later.

The Chameleon - Armand/Daniel - The Chase Years - 1000 words
Written for @vcmicroficmay for the prompt "performance." Daniel is thrown a small surprise launch party for his book, Interview with the Vampire, and special guest crashes the party (you'll never guess who!)
Full text posted here or read it on AO3.
It’s awkward being the guest of honor and Daniel wishes he could escape back to his hotel room. People keep coming up to him and shaking his hand while his editor makes brief introductions that leave his mind almost immediately.
He’s curious about these people, of course. Some of them are authors with dozens of books to their names, or editors, or journalists. The sort of people Daniel would love to sit and chat with under normal circumstances.
But these are not normal circumstances. This is a small, semi-private “launch party” that his publisher sprung on him.
Daniel had flat out refused to do public signings for his book but he finally conceded to signing copies in the publisher’s New York office that they could send out to bookstores. He’d arrived last night and gone straight to his hotel. He half expected Armand to be there to greet him, as this trip had been planned for over a week, and he’d inadvertently thought about it while Armand was pestering him about the various brands of soda in a vending machine outside his motel room in Tulsa. But the vampire was nowhere to be found.
Daniel spent the day in a boardroom in the publisher’s office, signing copies of Interview with the Vampire until his wrist was numb and his hand cramped. When he finished, relieved to be done and looking forward to going out on the town for some dinner, they’d surprised him with this launch party at a hotel down the street.
The decor is a little gaudy. Gold and red balloons that match the colors of the book cover float against the high ceiling of the rented ballroom. The cover itself has been enlarged and printed on poster boards.
There’s a bar on one end that Daniel only manages to make it over to once before his editor claps him on the shoulder and a non-stop line of introductions and small talk begin. He shakes the ice in his empty glass, hoping maybe someone will offer to refresh it for him. No one does.
“How did you come up with the idea?” a woman asks. He thinks she’s a copyeditor but that might be the woman to her left. “Interviewing a monster, how clever!”
Daniel laughs out of sheer discomfort. He’s worried that these people will sense that he’s a fraud. That he didn’t come up with anything.
He repeats a party line he’s been giving: “I was interviewing people about their lives. A friend of mine was reading Dracula and I joked it’d be cool to interview him.” The crowd laughs.
Daniel sips at the dredges of his drink, tiredness sinking into his bones.
A hand touches Daniel’s shoulder and he turns, expecting to see someone else he needs to meet, only to be met with the familiar shock of auburn hair. His pulse quickens.
Armand is wearing a blue suit, crisply pressed, with a white shirt and dress shoes. His hair is cropped short and he’s wearing glasses. His skin is pale but he’s fed enough to give it color. Like a chameleon, he blends right into this crowd.
He hands Daniel a glass, a Jack and Coke, trading it for his empty one. Daniel takes it gratefully. His editor gives him an expectant look. He needs to introduce Armand. God help him.
“This is my—” Daniel falters. What the hell does he say? Stalker? Vampire shadow? Friend? Armand is not his friend, surely.
“Assistant,” Armand supplies. He gives a fake name and shakes his editor’s hand.
“Ah, yes, I believe Daniel mentioned you.”
Daniel definitely did not.
Armand is charming and fits right in. Incredible how one minute Daniel is showing him something like how a vending machine works and the next, Armand is effortlessly hobnobbing at a publishing party, making clever small talk and enthralling everyone around him.
Daniel finishes his drink too fast and slips off to the bar. He orders a double.
“What a lovely celebration of your book,” Armand says. Daniel startles. Armand has moved silently beside him without Daniel even noticing.
“Yeah, it’s great,” Daniel says. He’s counting the minutes until he can leave without being rude. “What are you doing here?”
“How could I miss it? You’re the guest of honor,” Armand says with a wicked little smile. “Though I must admit, I enjoy knowing these people know who I am, and yet they have no idea I walk among them.”
A shiver travels down Daniel’s spine. Imagine if they knew the leader of the Theatre Des Vampires was real and at this party! An unhinged laugh bubbles up out of his throat. Armand puts a hand on his arm, steadying, and strangely familiar. Well, they are familiar now, aren’t they? They’ve been playing this game for long enough.
And though he’s loath to admit it, Daniel is glad to see him. He feels out of depth at this event, being praised as a creative genius for a true story he merely relayed. He’s a phony.
You’re not a phony, Armand says.
Daniel blinks, surprised. He knows damn well Armand can read his thoughts but sometimes it still catches him off guard. It’s not my story.
Of course it is. And you told it skillfully.
Daniel considers that. The book was a lot of work, writing the descriptions of the interview itself, the editing… Armand often pestered him in various hotel rooms while he was working on it, though they rarely discussed the contents of the book. Daniel always expected him to ask that he edit things or leave things out, but he never did. Anything cut was done so at the discretion of Daniel and his editor. Armand played no part.
Daniel starts to ask what he thinks of the finished product, but his editor comes over and ushers him toward a new group of folks he has to meet. Armand is right on his heels, effortlessly playing the role of his assistant as the night goes on.

More about Hyper pop Punk Wally
Wally's preference: (This is mostly for those who want to ship their OCs with Wally.) His type of romantic partners are the ones that can kick his ass or are just kickass baddies. It's one of the quickest ways to win his heart. beside sharing the same interests and food.
He has a big sweet tooth, so he eats a lot of sugary drinks and foods. Bro needs those calories because his metabolism is whack. He likes milkshakes, sugary coffee drinks, battery acid (the drink), cakes, donuts, and the like.
He typically likes hard candy because it dilutes in his mouth, and he hates chocolate. He doesn't really like how they taste. especially dislike chocolate by themselves. He isn't a fan of gummies, as he can't consume them properly (he can't really consume solids through his mouth). Btw, Wally can eat through his eye (like the og), but he has a habit of biting, sucking the flavor or juices, then leaning his head back and spitting it in the air. which hell then eat with his eyes to properly get the nutrients? Idk why I thought of this, but I want my wallys to share traits with the OG Wally.
He likes mint candies as they hide (or mask) his smoker's breath.
Now, he doesn't take any drugs of any kind, aside from the medications his home gives him. Also, yeah, Home acts as his caretaker, making sure Wally doesn't end up getting himself killed by getting injured badly (Wally can get very badly injured at some of his fights). He doesn't take drugs, mostly due to the fact that he was pumped full of drugs in his teen years, and any recreational drugs like weed will give him a bad trip and just a bad time in general. No pharmacological drugs work on him because his body practically grew resistant to them. He refuses to do coke or meth, cuz no.
Also, the meds home give him are kind of strange cuz, 1, they can't be bought from seeming anywhere. 2. Home just seems to have a huge supply of them (not sure if I want to have home be the one making them or something). and 3, the meds are kind of scary as they make the person feel no physical pain, and weirdly enough, they seem to help relieve it as well. But the meds come with a warning (somehow it has a warning, idk) that says they are very easy to overdose on and are highly addictive. Thankfully, at home, make sure to keep Wally in check for his medications.
He likes bright, guady, colors, and fashion. Also, like alt fashion, most things are similar to punk and scenekid. He doesn't like plain white or pastels, as they remind him of the insane asylum. And he just doesn't really like soft colors or plain fashion. He likes it extreme so that he is stimulated. also doesn't do well when he has nothing to do, especially when it's quiet and calm, because he then feels like he's going insane.
He has fears of needles, being restrained, and being alone (again because of his past). Unfortunately, despite not really being a mean person at heart, he does have some anger issues (understandable so) and will at times push some boundaries, but never intentionally. but he's not afraid to insult those who kind of deserve it.
He is very affectionate with his loved ones and will shower them with love once his feelings are reciprocated (this applies both romantically and plantonically). Sometimes he gets a bit too excited about love and gets into the habit of biting. but if he is told not to do that again, he won't bite again. He respects his partners or friends boundaries and won't cross them.
but he does have a bit of a possessive side to him (which is kind of feuled by his parionoa, need for affection, and care).
For one, he will keep an eye on them but never fully follow them around. Just whenever paths cross, he will definitely have his attention on them. He'll keep little tracks of information on them, and if ever he is invited to their place, even once, he will memorize the path. but only in case he needs to drag them back home after getting drunk or something. (He had too much experience with not knowing where to bring his drunk friends.) He will attempt to put a "tracker" (aka a little doodle of an eye or a swirl) and watch through it. So this way, he always has his eyes on them. This does come in handy when some of his friends get jumped, and he will then come running to help.
In terms of romantic relationships, he does have boundaries. Hes fine with a crazy and obessive partner, just not to the point where they try to hurt anyone who is close to Wally (does not like yanderes). But if he realizes he entered a relationship based on a lie, was used, abused, or is dating a friend's sibling (happened with Eddie's sibling Daisy), he will end the relationship.

Clean: Trey Cahill x Reader
Tagging: @@mariashane @kj77 @tiredmarshmellowuwu @choppedgalaxynerd @herwordslikebutterflywings @flopiboni @words-and-seeds @aiko24k @@kane-nero-6 @wabi-sabi1090 @kmc1989
Trey used to traffic drugs. His dealer used to give him ten grand to transport a few bricks of coke over the border into Arizona under the guise of delivering one of the classic cars he’d been restoring to a buyer.
It was usually a five hour trip to the stash house. He’d drop off the merchandise, take his cut and then get high in a shitty roadside motel. He’d stay there for days until he was right again to drive the five hours back to Vegas.
He doesn’t do that crap anymore, he hasn’t since Folsom got him into rehab two years ago. That’s when he got serious about restoration, started turning a profit on the garage, building a client base. He may not ask where all of his spare parts come from for the sake of plausible deniability but the heavy stuff, he’s out of it.
If he gets caught it’s not just his life he fucks up, it’s yours too. You’re already getting shit for dating a former criminal, you will never admit it to him but Folsom had filled Trey in after the scuffle with the defence attorney. That stuff, it reflects badly on you, it puts you under scrutiny.
He’s kept his nose clean since then. He’s stopped going to the bars with all the shady shit going on, lost contact with the people who could suck him back into that life, tossed his burner phones. He’s gone completely legit.
He has his head tucked under the bonnet of a 1969 Chevy Corvette when Killian turns up at the garage. There’s a problem with the starter, he’s still trying to figure it out when he hears someone clearing their throat behind him. He knows it’s Killian, even before he glances over his shoulder. He’s been trying to get a hold of him for days now, putting the word out through the people they used to have in common for Trey to get in touch because he needs the cars to move product.
“You’ve been ignoring my calls.” Killian says as Trey straightens up and turns to face him.
He’s leaning against the hood of a Stingray Trey’s been tuning up, his hands are tucked into the pockets of his black leather jacket. He looks more haggard than the last time Trey saw him. Dipping into his own supply, Trey thinks.
“That’s not my life anymore.” Trey tells him as he picks up the rag from his work bench and uses it to clean the grease from his hands. “I thought you would have got the message when I stopped buying drugs from you.”
“Hm.” Killian says as he holds up a baggie of coke between two fingers. “So I assume you don’t want this.”
This is how it starts, he remembers. A freebie, a little fun, before he knows it he’s five grand in the hole, doing ‘jobs’ to pay off his debt.
“Do you think I’m really that weak?” Trey laughs, crossing his arms over his chest trying to ignore the twitch in his fingers. “That I’m going to jump back into bed with you because you offer me a bump.”
“I think if I leave this here.” Killian says setting the baggie down on the workbench alongside Trey. “I’ll be getting a call from you in a couple of hours’ time for a little more.”
“I wouldn’t bet on it.” Trey bites back and Killian gives him that smile, the one that sets Trey’s teeth on edge.
“Once an addict…” Killian says, pushing the baggie towards him. “…always an addict.”
It’s a few hours later that you turn up at the garage. The lights are still on despite the late hour. Part of you is worried and the other part pissed because Trey was supposed to meet you for dinner tonight at that little Chinese place you both like. You’d sat there for an hour before you realised he wasn’t coming. He hasn’t been picking up his calls or his texts.
When you step inside you find him hunched over the workbench with his head in his hands. Your hand comes to rest on his shoulder and he flinches at the sensation before he turns his head to look at you. His eyes are red rimmed, the vibrant blue shining through the frustrated tears as the muscle in his jaw clenches.
“Trey.” You say softly and he takes a sharp inhale of breath before he tilts his head towards something on the workbench.
“I need you to get rid of it.” He says, his voice pained as you follow his gaze to the baggie of coke. “If I touch it…”
He trails off because he doesn’t need to say anything else.
Two years sobriety, everything he’s worked for, it’ll be gone and he can’t go back to that place, not when he’s come so far. But the thing is he can’t seem to help himself. His mouth is dry, his fingers itch, he can feel himself giving in and he’s powerless to stop it.
You pick up the baggie and tuck it into your pocket. The relief is visible, Trey exhales for the first time in what seems like hours, the tension seems to flood out of his body as he uses the back of his hand to wipe across his eyes.
“I need to know what happened tonight.” You say quietly. “How this ended up here.”
If it were anyone else including Folsom he’d lie, say one of his customers dropped it because he wouldn’t want them to know about all the bad shit he’s done in the past. But it’s you and he’s always been honest with you and that’s not about to change today.
He tells you everything, from the product he used to move for Killian, to the nights he spent high as kite. You listen quietly, your hand holding his and he’s grateful for that because being here with you, it keeps him anchored, it reminds him that he’s more than just his addiction.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you.” He says quietly as he clasps your hand to his cheek. “Really I don’t.”

5 Takeaways From an Investigation Into Hysterectomies in India’s Sugar Industry (Megha Rajagopalan, The New York Times, March 24 2024)
"Women who cut sugar cane in the Indian state of Maharashtra are getting unnecessary hysterectomies, often as a way to keep working, undistracted by periods, pregnancies or gynecological checkups. (…)
Some women sought the surgery to avoid menstruating in the fields, where workers sleep beneath tarps with no running water or toilets.
Menstrual pads are expensive and hard to find, and there’s nowhere to dispose of them.
Women often address their periods with cloth that they wash by hand.
Others saw the surgery as an alternative to routine gynecological care.
To take a day off for a doctor’s visit, women must not only sacrifice income, but pay a fee to their employers.
Some women said they hoped the surgery would end their cramps and the pain of heavy, irregular periods.
Others are falsely told by doctors that a hysterectomy is necessary.
It’s such a widespread problem that a 2019 government investigation found that, of about 82,000 female sugar-cane workers in Beed, roughly 20 percent had undergone hysterectomies.
In the five years since that report, nobody forced the industry to change. (…)
Almost every woman I spoke to said she had married as a child, even though India bans child marriage.
They told me that they were married off to cut sugar cane alongside their husbands.
Sugar-mill contractors generally hire couples, not individuals. That system, workers said, incentivizes families to marry their daughters off early.
Child labor is also widespread, according to workers and company reports. A New York Times photographer saw children working in the fields. (…)
Coca-Cola said it buys sugar from Maharashtra, where these labor abuses are endemic.
And a businessman who runs a sugar mill in Maharashtra for Dalmia Bharat Sugar said his mill supplies Coca-Cola. A new Coke factory is under construction in Maharashtra.
PepsiCo said that one of its largest franchisees also buys sugar in the state."
