Jet Pack Blues
The demon’s wings rose up and spread out behind him. It made him look like the sort of dumbass who would die trying to fuck a light. “Are you trying to imply that you don’t know who I am?”
Adam grinned, allowing the beginnings of a laugh to trickle into his voice. “I dunno, man, some dipshit who throws fits in grocery stores?”
“I am the sleeping dragon you have been poking ever since you stepped foot in hell,” the moth spat.
“Oooh!” Adam exclaimed, snapping his fingers. “Valentine or whatever the fuck!”
-
Or; Adam makes a few enemies – and potentially a few friends – as he continues to climb the ranks of hell.

So I went to Pride for the first time in probably 20 years. It was a lot of fun and I got to see and meet some super nice people. Must admit I cried a bit while walking around because I haven't been able to live openly as my authentic self for a long time. It felt incredibly freeing to just walk among people who I knew wouldn't judge me for who I am and who I love.
But I mostly had an amazing time because I was invited to hang out with my friends. @ashleyrguillory and her wife are incredible artists and absolute stand up human beings. It was so cool to see their booth and watching people praise their art. Love them so much.
This was my corgi's outfit for Pride. I love his rainbow collar and the hearts shirt matched it perfectly.
I had a feeling he'd be popular but literally watching someone scream/squeal "OMG IS THAT A CORGIIIIIIII?" as they dashed over was pretty fun. I also think he was mind melding with people so they'd stop in their tracks and come over. 🤣🤣🤣 I am very happy to report that he did really well even with large groups of people and noise. He got spoiled with so much loving and treats!
And I picked up my favorite item from my friends' table...a "Be Gay Solve Crime" Benoit Blanc sticker from Knives Out! Look how dapper Benoit looks! They also had all their amazing Star Wars merchandise of which my favorite is the rainbow X-Wing pin!
Everyone was so kind and enthusiastic. The music was great and the weather was absolutely perfect to party outside. I'm definitely looking forward to next year! 🏳️🌈💖🥰

You know, I feel like purgatory would have been a perfect setting for Hazbin Hotel because it's a place people go to before final judgement or death.
YES!! Every time I look into the lore and setting of H4zbin/H3lluva, I wonder why this wasn’t something that was utilized. It would’ve added not only a lot of nuance to Charlie and her motivations, whether or not it took place directly in purgatory or not. If they had remained in hell, purgatory could’ve been an interesting wrinkle in her plan, or something that would’ve explained why all of the angels, not just the exterminators, are so uncaring towards sinners (the idea of “if you deserved a chance you would’ve gotten it).
Or, if Charlie had started the hotel in purgatory, then there could’ve been questions about why a princess of hell wanted to help them. Maybe purgatory is as corrupt as Heaven or Hell, and Charlie’s work is meant to be a criticism of the way institutions meant to help may not actually provide any real support. But the show side steps even mentioning working with these ideas that could’ve given much needed depth to the first ring of Hell.
And To clarify my thought from my last post, I think H4zbin would’ve been better served with a setting akin to magical realism, while maybe borrowing some biblical elements to explain where characters got their powers or legacies from. This would’ve removed a lot of the baggage these biblically based characters come with, making so the characters could’ve just been the characters without us questioning why certain elements aren’t addressed (i.e. Adam, Lucifer, Lilith, etc.).

i think so much about the "I remember you" song bc of its central desire "to be forgiven"
arguably, a truly selfless individual would only wish for marcy's happiness, hoping that from the hellscape they lived in, she managed to find deliverance
but the song is a plea to be given something from marcy, and I think about that a lot
fundamentally, it is selfish, asking for a blank check bc for all simon knew at the time, he could be warped into an absolute monster and perhaps forgiveness maybe the hardest thing someone could give (hence the begging)
also it does show the difference in coping mechanisms between simon and marcy, largely due to marcy growing up in a ruined world and simon having a pretty normal time
marcy coped by leaning into her monstrousness, even exacerbating it as a trauma response, bc this was all she ever knew growing up - rubble and rot and skeletons and shadows - be tough in a tough world
simon however knew luxury and comfort for longer than marcy ever did, he could very reliably compare how things are now to the way it was before - how he was to the way he was before.
simon had an identity before the apocalypse but marcy never got the chance to form one
so simon begs for forgiveness because he can be better, he know he can be better
marcy doesnt - and she doesnt really get that she could be better until she found people that she wanted to be better for - but growing up, worse was all she knew so worse was how she decided to cope
which i guess to circle back to my initial point... it was fundamentally selfish of simon to beg for a blank check - which oddly does mirror Hunson and The Fries
the roles are reversed in Fries tho, Marcy has the "I Want" there and she wants an apology (maybe that might not even necessitate her forgiveness but she sure as hell would like to know if her Dad cares)
here, Marcy is on the giving end and I think that does mean something to her
simon's fundamental fear is to be abandoned by everyone he loves and i think that circled around as reaffirming to marcy in a twisted way
here is a man desperate for her love again which means her love is not a burden or a curse but worth something, maybe even salvation
and that maybe she is not so monstrous that she has nothing to give others - nothing soft within her that could offer comfort
im not fully tracing marcy's appearances to the "I remember you" episode but i like to think that the parts already cracking under her love for bubblegum got a little wider with simon's letter
or mybe this is all mental gymnastics so my fave blorbo simon doesnt come out looking like a dick bc he begs for forgiveness instead of no payment required wishing her well (honestly could be both)

I often find myself thinking about how the Sinners' E.G.O could be utilized outside of combat ... I know Meursault got to use his for a non-combat purpose in Canto VI, and I loved that!!
Since Sherry is the resident E.G.O expert for the team (managing the resources and helping the Sinners adjust to each new E.G.O they manifest), I imagine her distributing vials of resources with alongside specific tasks in certain situations. Need to get somewhere quickly on foot? Don Quixote or Heathcliff can Corrode their Telepole E.G.O. Need someone who can fly? Ishmael can manifest Ardor Blossom Star, or Meursault or Rodya could manifest Pursuance. Need to start a quick fire? Call on 4th Match Flame from Yi Sang, Rodya, or Ryōshū.
The idea of using E.G.O outside of combat opens up so many interesting possibilities, and Sherry loves exploring them (so long as the Sinners are willing to go along with her experiments, that is).

IT'S ME AGAIN HIHIHIHI i wanted to ask whether u have read crime and punishment???? i've been thinking about it a lot and now it keeps popping up whereever i go and ofc bsd fyodor exists too and i keep thinking about him and sighhh i think i should do it..... (i literally already have the book too......)
- @catchuuu
MICKEY U HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE…….….. i HAVE in fact read crime and punishment and i’m gonna let u in on a very embarrassing secret if u promise not to laugh :’3
……. i bought the book and read it…. because of fyodor bsd…………………….. look. i wanted to get into classic lit ok and. i just thought he was hot 😭😭 so i was like hmmmm let’s check out his works IT’S SO EMBARRASSING BUT I THINK I WAS REAL AS HELL TOO…………
anyway i was pretty young so it might not have been the best choice, it’s a VERY heavy book just language-wise, dostoevsky is not for the weak 😭😭 but it’s very good and interesting too!! i think i would love it even more if i reread it now… dostoevsky is basically known for being kind of a master at exploring the human mind and obv the main thing he explores in this book is guilt. and how the mc raskolnikov begins to punish himself for his crime the moment he commits it…. i like it it’s good :33 would def recommend it!! but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and some scenes are very Raw. there’s one that’s pretty infamous where the mc dreams about one of his childhood memories right?? when he saw a horse get whipped to death… and it’s just really. ough. made me feel kinda sick. stuff like that is common for dostoevsky so watch out!!!
ooohhh and mickey !! while we’re on the topic of russian lit :333 gogol is super good too !! so far i’ve only read one of his shorter stories, diary of a madman, but that one was so cool. i like him a lot he’s definitely …. a lot more unhinged than dosto….
