I would like to formally introduce to you Sol and Iah!
Tumblr media
These are my human versions of Sun and Moon.
Tumblr media
Info dump below the cut.
They are twins and 20 years old.
They have Piebaldism. Not vitiligo. With Piebaldism you're born with it where vitiligo develops when you're older, and may change, move and grow where piebaldism doesn't change. There are less complications associated with Piebaldism BUT if it effects the ears it can cause Deafness. (Did you know melanin has an important part in your ability to hear.) Piebaldism is also characterised by a white patch in your hair.
Iah is one of these few who's ears are effected rendering him deaf since birth. He knows sign and can lipreading but is mute, to combat this he carries a notebook to communicate with those who don't sign.
Their Mother is black, their father white. Sol is white passing where Iah is not. Which is important because their story takes place in the 70's and although there were many efforts to stop segregation and racism at the time Iah still has a lot less opportunities then Sol. And a lot more challenges, along with the much more noticeable piebaldism which was seen as freaky at the time. Thankfully Sol and their parents protect Iah in every possible way they can.
Both inherited their fathers pointed nose (to keep with the design of the og characters). Iah has their Dad's straight hair where Sol has Moms curls but in Dads blonde.
Iah works with their Father in his mechanics shop and garage, fixing anything from cars to fridges.
Sol is at college majoring in art and works in a café part-time.
They're both are best friends with Y/n who is their childhood best friend, ever since they moved to Utah when they were 7 in 65 from Colorado where they were born in 58 not long after their parents married.
I am most definitely writing a story about these boys!

Anyone wanna ask my Sun and Moon any of these? It might be fun >.>
It doesn’t have to be these questions any questions will do tbh
oc asks that reveal more than you think
Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who’s the favorite?
Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?
Ask them to describe their love interest.
Do they look good in red?
Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about?
Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?
Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themself in three words.
Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?
Do they empathize with non-sentient things (dolls, plants, books…)?
What age do they most want to be right now?
They’ve won the lottery. Spend, or save?
Do they like romance in the books they read (or in the book they’re in)?
Name one thing their parents taught them.
Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?
What would they consider a waste of time– other than school or work?
If money wasn’t a limit, what would they wear?
Do they like children?
Kissing: tongue or no tongue?
Do they study before tests? Practice before job interviews?
What do they like that nobody else does?
What would it take for them to break up with someone? What would be the last straw?
Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What’s their go-to?
Stability or novelty?
Honesty or charity?
Safety or possibility?
Talent or effort?
Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)?
Would they date a fixer-upper?
What recurring dreams do they have?
What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

With its powerful jaws and sharp teeth, the California sheephead is an incredible fish that can cut through the mightiest sea urchins and protect kelp forests!
Did we mention they also sleep in a mucus cocoon at night? 👀

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.
For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.
I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

The school!!!! from Of Playful Days and Silent Nights!
I made the school in my DCA Teacher au in the sims, it's a very small primary school with 3 classrooms and a preschool/nursery class.
If you have the sims (the basegame is free btw) you can check it out (secrets and all) in the gallery under the name KEZI'S DCA TEACHER AU (I was gonna add school but ran out of space). There's a lot of cool things and secrets included that I can't show you this way.
It's all base game because that's all I have on my steamdeck atm (I usually play xbox) but I used the moveobjects cheat and the debug unlock items cheat, it's listed and hopefully functional as a library cuz making schools is not an option sadly.

Extra pictures and descriptions below the cut ^-^
Above is the outside and the general layout. Front and center is the office/reception to the right is the cloakroom, toilets and cafeteria. forward is the staff room, left is the headmasters office, going up from there and left is the first classroom, the history class, (all the classes teach the basics (maths, english etc.) but they specilase in a perticular subject) next classroom is art.
The final one at the end of the hallway is Y/N's class room which is space themed, then to the right is the pre-school class that Sun takes care of. The play ground is accesable from the cloak room, the Hallway and the preschool classroom. it starts at the little kids area, which is a closed off space with a play house, toy cars, a pirate boat jungle gym and a sandbox all for the 3-4 year olds to play in.

da2 isn't the best dragon age game *because* it's openly a tragedy, but being a tragedy forces a level of narrative coherence that the other games in the series don't have, and *that's* what makes it a better game.
okay, so. dragon age 2 runs on nested foreshadowing and a limited set of themes that almost every character and plot beat fall into: love is not enough, wealth is not enough, power is not enough, good intent is not enough. the problems you run into are structural, rather than individual, and your ability to resolve them as one person is strictly limited. the arishok is a central figure for this, because he prefigures every other tragedy and makes the game's thesis statement as clear as possible. he doesn't want to be in kirkwall, but he is compelled to remain until he gets back what was stolen. he doesn't want to lead a coup attempt, but he is compelled by qunari codes of justice to act. he does not want to die and fail his duty, but but he is compelled to by the other two impossible demands. every tragedy in kirkwall is the result of too many people with wildly different definitions of justice crammed into one place specifically designed to maximize human misery and suffering, and so you get a wonderfully nested narrative onion where each quest reinforces that idea, where there are no good options, just positions you can take — even the affinity system plays into that, where constantly gassing up your friends or constantly pushing them to change are equally correct ways to go, but ones that won't ultimately make a huge difference in their lives or characters, because no matter how much they like you, they're not under your control.
this coherence is even justified by the framing device. of *course* the moral of the game is "insisting on a dogmatic, narrow idea of justice destroys individuals and societies," it's a yarn being spun by varric the con artist to a chantry cop!
neither origins or inquisition play with that sort of narrative complexity. origins is a jaundiced hero's quest, certainly, but it's still basically a hero's quest; inquisition has a number of characters who question what you're doing and why, but the multitude of voices pulls the game in too many potential directions. DA2 was so constrained in its production that it pulled on decidedly ancient theatrical traditions, and it worked so, so well
