as i'm workin on my Ancient stuff- i've got to say that it is really interesting and neat (read: nasty) that there's a good chance most of the Ancient population probably didn't actually wear masks. but We think they did cuz the only really solid evidence of what they looked like at all all comes from places of the higher social circles. and those strived for religious... superiority, i guess. brownie points, not actual dedication to the religion for the sake of its teachings but either because it made them look good, put them higher in the social hierarchy or whatever manipulation have you (or the flawed look upon the religion aka "we gotta get out of this cycle no matter what")

all we are left with are the bastards. the simple people and their cultures that were left to weather the Iterators' rains were simply washed away. nobody cared for their way of life- as long as it served the higher circles well and they stayed submissive (enough so that at the end everyone would take a dip in the void), nobody had to give a singular shit

just how much do we not know about the Ancients' *everything* because of this disregard? how much do we think we are right about, when such is true only for the small but privileged piece of the species?

My headcanon designs for "the alley cats" (Mr.Chat's street friends) 🐱

Meet the gang: Mr.Chat, Rascál, Canaille, Grisou, Tigrasse, Ruffián and Croche-patte! 🐱

Out of my latest Kaeloo fanfict, these are my headcanons for the gang of stray cats that often hang out with Mr.Chat downtown 💜

Rascál: Mr.Chat's ex boyfriend and old partner in crime. They used to run scams and commit small crimes together when they were younger. However things suddenly changed the day Rascál got arrested and ended up in jail. Heartbroken, Mr.Chat had to leave the city by himself in the hopes of leaving his old life behind and starting anew. Luckily the two are still on good terms to this day, their bond is still solid and their friendship healed 💜

Canaille: His name says it all, this cat is the troublemaker of the group. Loud, fast and a bit psychotic, he could easily be considered a feline version of Moignon 🤭

Grisou: Fancy, classy and a bit squeamish. He's a Siamese with a good taste for money and riches. He loves gambling and champagne, but most of all cheating and scamming ✨

Tigrasse: A crazy lunatic and a massive drunk, but still a lovable bastard 💜 He's a Mexican bag of fleas and the shortest of the group, but his furry little body is filled to the brim with a burning temper, a LOT of tequila and most of all, brotherly love 💕

Ruffián: Avid manipulator and talented liar. This little sphinx cat is one tough fella! Mostly silent, he only speaks when he needs to insult someone or use sarcasm. He likes to think he's the brains of the group, and his degree in cyber hacking and scamming certainly proves it!

Croche-patte: He's the dad of the group (or at least he tries to be). He may seem scary on the outside but he's definitely a big softie on the inside. This big Maine Coon loves to brawl and wrestle, his many scars and eye patch are of great pride to him!

sargent had to be held in the vet for monitoring so hes met a few other bitties that injured/sick

the one next to sargent with the leaf on his head is named parsnip

he has a vitamin c deficiency and needs to be with other bitties

the one in the back is named stumpy he lost his arm in a roomba accident

parsnip really wants to be friends with sargent but sargent just wants to go home and eat junk food and lay on his heating pad

I've actually been planning on drawing this OC concept for a little while now; meet Xixi, Kaeloo's old axolotl friend from middle school! 💕

You though Mr.Chat was the only one with the old best friend/ex lover from the past, uh? Well i thought I'd finally give one to Kaeloo too this time 🩷 They used to go to the same water pond together when they were younger, perhaps spending summers swimming and studying in Kaeloo's old water Lily childhood house 🪷

Their relationship is actually still mysterious to most of Kaeloo's friends, none of them knowing whether Xixi and Kae used to be actual partners or not. However their friendship is still very healthy and joyful to this day, even after drifting apart for years and not always being able to see each other, they still care for one another ✨
