Big fan of sun motifs in characters not necessarily being about positivity and happiness and how they're so " bright and warm" but instead being about fucking brutal they are.

Radiant. A FORCE of nature that will turn you to ash. That warmth that burns so hot it feels like ice. Piercing yellow and red and white. A character being a Sun because you cannot challenge a Sun without burning alive or taking everything down with them if victorious.

I had this idea of a native woman who rides a transformer buffalo and wonders the Great Plains after the fall of modern society and works to protect those seeking to return to their rightful land, and sparklings emerging and being taking in and raised by a human family. I decided to combine the two. I am not native myself!! So if there are aspects that need to be changed please tell me! I got inspiration for Dakoda from @off.the.rez on TikTok

Iina and Dakoda emerged after the matrix awakened the energon within the earth, born on a reservation in Wyoming. Seeing that they did come from the earth and were part of it, they were taken in and raised like any other child.

As they grew, their older sister Nanabah took it upon herself to help defend their community from both human and alien threats. Knowing that society had basically collapsed and people were on a free for all, Nanabah wanted to make sure her people were able to flourish like they used to, without the government stepping on their necks.

Nanaba and Iina are dedicated to helping others in need and protecting the wildlife native to the great planes, they hope to use this opportunity to build a better tomorrow for all. Dakoda on the other hand is a lot more lost when it comes to figuring out what he wants to do. He doesn’t want to leave his family behind but he also wants to head to one of the still functioning cities in order to meet other transformers like himself. Even if he prefers to live like a human, he still can’t help but feel different.

närsi in her working uniform - ive mentioned it when i posted her first, but she works in the sartrill defense force, the Sartrill Tirsekki (more specifically in the Rau-Tirsekki, the division for basilisks). and yes her wings look different bcs ive been pondering a bit of an anatomical revamp of basilisk wings... so they can have silly hands. Yey. more rambles under cut

in most basilisk communities it's not seen as indecent to not wear clothes really, as they don't really need to. but in many communities it is a fun decorative element they like engaging in and clothes may often be seen as more associated with certain events or social positions. bcs of their anatomy most clothes however extend to chest/neckpieces, hats and legpieces as it can be a struggle and a hinderance to put on stuff below the arms as their wing membrane stretches from their arms to about halfway downt he tail.

the basilisks in the Tirsekki have their own division as they are usually delegated to special reconaissance roles separate from the rest of the order, who are usually trained in more typical forms of defensive and offensive combat. the subdivision has their own leader/trainers who are usually basilisks themselves as they know their own abilities best, rather than a harpy. their shapeshifting is obviously a huge part of their work, and scouting/surveillance is their most common form of work. sometimes they are called to stuff that involves combat however too.

the sartrill tirsekki formed as a revival of an older defensive order, the kaskin tirsekki. kaskin was a crakam town that fell due to human discovery and attack, and the crakam that formed sartrill were the fleeing survivors from that siege

It’s hard to remember that I have a disability, especially in the “if no one can tell, you’re not disabled, you aren’t” society that we live in.

I find myself making socially acceptable excuses for my burnout/inattentiveness/awkwardness. Sometimes that’s for the best, but it can be exhausting. There’s only so many “just tired”s and “just woke up from a nap”s that I can throw out before the mask starts to slip.

I feel like everyone else has this capacity that I don’t, this extra space that, no matter how hard I work, I cannot reach. I am not miserable in my existence, and I do not want to be cured, but autism can be very heavy, especially when I’m trying to explain myself.

I don't know how everyone isn't also always constantly thinking about how burial rites seem to be potentially one of the few things Siffrin instinctively remembers about their culture. But rest assured. I am in fact always thinking about it.

Fun fact! In Better the Wool, the Lamb's parents don't recognize her once they're revived! This means she gets a lot of juicy gossip about their lives once she was out of the picture in absolutely insane throwaway lines.

She also has some very intense feelings about the circumstances that led to her being separated from her family.

I wonder why the Lamb was exiled as a heretic? She seems rather bitter about the matter...

hello my name is hua cheng and i have long ebony black hair with a braid and a coral bead tied at the end of it and an icy black eye like a limpid tear and a lot of people tell me i look like Xie Lian. Im not related to the Crown Prince or anything but i wish i was cause he's a major fucking hottie. Im a ghost but i can fake a heartbeat.Im also a Calamity and i rule the city of ghosts called Ghost City. Im a goth(in case you couldn't tell) but i wear mostly red. For example today i was wearing a red robe with matching lace around it and black pants, silver jewellery and combat boots. I was wearing red eyeliner, red eyeshadow and white foundation. I was walking around Ghost City. Its was snowing and raining and there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A bunch of heavenly officials stared at me. I put my middle finger up at them.

I'm glad self-inserts and mary sues have been (for the most part) accepted by fandom. Or, at the very least, they aren't as hated on and attacked as they were in the past.

In the ye olde days™, 12-year-old me was absolutely terrified of making a "mary sue," to the point that I wouldn't post anything I made. Even worse, the characters I did make were dull and boring to achieve "realism." God forbid would I even THINK of making a character that was anywhere close to me as a person. Luckily, I was able to grow past this and started making art that made me happy, no matter what others might think. But what about the other 12 year olds who saw that their OCs were "bad" and got discouraged? There's so many people out there who stopped engaging in art simply because they made an OP character.

Creating characters is about expressing your creativity and feeling a connection to your art. It's going to be a different, unique experience for everyone. For one person, that might mean making a gritty, realistic OC. For another, it could be making a perfect version of themself to ship with a character they like. If making that "bad" mary sue is what makes someone happy, let them do it! Focus on what makes you happy and thats what matters. (live and let live basically).

Basically, if you want to make a character, DO IT!! Make that Undertale self-insert that dates Sans! Draw your neon pink alicorn princess pony! Feed your inner-child and create what makes you HAPPY!!!
