You know what absolutely useless feature would save Obey Me? Event outfits being usable in game anytime. Just imagine Belphegor killing MC while wearing his cute little cow onesie. Lucifer pledging his loyalty to Diavolo while wearing his swimsuit and his toes out. Meanwhile Diavolo is wearing a bunny outfit. Absolutely nobody questions anything. Hello! I have questions for everyone about Obey me! I'd love to hear what people think about the story and writing and characters as a whole! I'd love to hear from as many people whether through comments, asks or messages. I ask for everyone's help so I can get the general ideas/concerns that people gave about the game(s)/story. How do you think the writing is overall? Do you prefer the writing the the beginning or the end? Which had better writing The first or second game?

Barbatos and Solomon's first meeting and a theory of mine, aka: what if Solomon summoned Barbatos to save his friend?

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR SWD S3 AND NB S1 AHEAD

Okay, so we've had pieces of info about their first meeting for a while now, but after collecting everything I could on these two to make my recent posts I was able to put them together and here it is.

First, there are the two times the story was briefly told in Obey Me! SWD, this one being from lesson 53-16 when Asmo discusses his first meeting with Solomon and then asks Barbatos about his:

And this next one being from lesson 49-A when Asmo asks about it for the first time and Solomon doesn't want to tell him:

And we learn what happened in the aftermath from Thirteen when she tells us about it in Obey Me! NB lesson 11-10:

So Solomon risked his life to summon Barbatos using an incantation and was left on the brink of death because of it, all because he "desperately needed his powers to control time", and after their interaction and whatever happened there, Barbatos took him to the Fountain of Knowledge and declared him the new protector of it.

By the way, they didn't make a pact during their first meeting but later on instead, or at least that's what I got from Barbatos saying:

I'm saying this because "eventually" is vague enough to be open to interpretation and could mean that they did make a pact during their first meeting and that it only took some bargaining for Barbatos to agree. But the way I saw it was that the pact was made later on.

So, the questions left unanswered from this are:

1 ) What made Solomon want to control time badly enough for him to seriously risk his life for it?

2 ) Did Barbatos help Solomon by using his powers to control time like he wanted him to?

Because it never says that Barbatos agreed to Solomon's "desperate need", and it doesn't say why Solomon was so desperate for it in the first place, only telling us that there was something he wanted enough to risk death for it.

But it does answer WHY later.

At first I thought we didn't have more info on their first meeting, but then I remembered this little moment from Obey Me! NB ( that I added to my post afterward and here's the screenshot from the post because I was too lazy to open the game and go to the lesson again ):

So Solomon almost died summoning Barbatos because he desperately needed his powers to control time after causing serious destruction to the Human World with his...?

Well, maybe, the passage does say that Barbatos appeared before him and not that he was purposely summoned by him, but it could be that the book is just depicting what people at the time thought happened, since it makes it sound like that was their first meeting when Barbatos himself said that Solomon summoning him was how they first met.

Anyway, let's assume I'm right and that's what happened and the reason why Solomon needed Barbatos was to fix the damage he did to the Human World unintentionally.

THE MAIN THEORY: Solomon summoned Barbatos to save his childhood friend's life, who was affected by Solomon's powers going out of control.

This is something that Solomon tells us in Obey Me! NB lesson 14-16, that he had a friend while he was locked up in the basement as a kid. He tells us the story of how they met and says that from then on the friend started visiting him regularly and that they would chat through the bars of the window basement and that's how their interactions went for however long. But then while telling us about them he suddenly stops:

And thus this became my current theory.

Solomon's powers, which have always vastly surpassed your usual human's, start getting out of control and becomes a threat to the world, endangering one of his loved ones ( much like MC's in S2 with Lucifer ). And desperate to save their life and out of what to do, he summons a demon he knows can control time to help him.

Judging by how Solomon struggles to tell the story to MC though, we can assume that it didn't end well.

Maybe Barbatos refused to save his friend/had no way to do it ( he can only travel through timelines and not actually go back and change the one where he is ) and Solomon had to accept the fact that they were dying and say goodbye and this was the moment when he made this promise to them to become a good sorcerer, learn how to control his powers and protect humanity.

Or maybe Barbatos did try to save them/told Solomon how to do it but it ended badly somehow and that's what brings Solomon pain when he tries to talk about it.

The devs are really upping the tragedy of Solomon’s character. He has never, ever, once in his life genuinely felt like he’s ever belonged. His heart has been filled with loneliness his entire life.

Ya know I’ve always assumed he had a normal upbringing but with the knowledge he’s always felt and been lonely I just—want to protect him.

The Fall - Wrath's perspective

The Fall from grace after the Celestial war.

Warnings⚠️: Kinda angsty! A tiny bit gorey with mentions of blood! A tiny bit of body horror nothing too much though! I'm still trying to figure out how to work on this app! Probably spelling mistakes.

Falling.

It was all he knew.

The wind howled around them, tearing at their bodies as they plummeted. It was not a fall of grace, not a gentle descent—no, this was a punishment, a violent rejection, a casting away from everything they had ever known.

And Satan was born into it.

He existed before he even had the chance to understand what existing meant. He was there, standing tall, as if he had always been. But he hadn’t. One moment ago, there was only Lucifer, and then there was him. He had not grown. He had not developed. He had erupted into being. His form took shape from the searing heat of his creator’s wrath, forged from something that burned so brightly it could rival Heaven’s own light.

And in that moment, he knew nothing except rage.

Lucifer was holding him. Satan didn’t recognize the being’s face yet—his vision blurred, the wind sharp and cruel against his skin—but he saw the wings. Once so pure, so divine, now blackening at the edges like paper caught in a flame. The once-holy light of his halo was melting into gold-hot ruin, dripping away like wax. It hurt to look at. And it infuriated him.

Why?

Why was he angry?

Satan didn’t understand the depths of his own emotions yet, only that they surged within him like a storm. He was burning with fury, but he didn’t know why.

And then—memories.

Not his own.

Flashes of light, of warmth, of laughter. A girl—a woman—gentle hands, a soothing voice. He knew her. Their sister. Lilith. He felt the love she gave, the hope in her heart. He felt the moment she was taken from them. The sound of the arrow piercing flesh. The scream that split the sky.

He felt the war.

It had begun with whispers. A dissatisfaction that spread like ink through celestial halls. Lucifer, the brightest of all, had looked upon the world and seen flaws. Manipulation. Hypocrisy. Imperfections. A design that he, the Morning Star, had believed should be corrected. He had questioned, then resisted, then rebelled. He had spoken of freedom, of divinity unshackled.

And for that, he had been betrayed.

Michael had led the charge. Brother against brother. Blades of light clashed against spears of shadow. The ground of Heaven trembled beneath their war cries. For his brothers that fell beside him, his true brothers, Lucifer had burned brighter, his fury igniting the very air around him. But the tide had turned. They had lost. To be fair they were fighting all of heaven.

But Lilith—she had paid the price.

Satan felt it now, the moment her light had gone out. The grief that had shattered something deep inside Lucifer, something so raw and unbearable that it had given Satan form.

He wasn’t just made from wrath.

He was made from loss.

And now they were falling.

Satan looked down. He saw her—a figure limp, descending faster than them. He knew, somehow, that she would never open her eyes again. He felt nothing but fire, an unrelenting inferno consuming him from the inside out. He clenched his fists, shaking, but he had no words yet—only raw, wordless hatred that made his vision blur red.

He looked back at Lucifer.

For a moment, he saw his own reflection in those burning red eyes. Grief, rage, regret—it was all there, the same emotions Satan felt.

It was unbearable. It was disgusting.

It was his fault.

Satan’s body trembled with the force of his own fury. His creator. His predecessor. The being he had come from. The one who had fought, the one who had lost, the one who had brought them all down with him.

Lucifer’s pride had led to this moment. His rebellion had failed. And now they were nothing.

The Morning Star lost. Wasn’t he supposed to be powerful? All-knowing? God's first creation? The highest ranking Seraphim? He had created him, after all, and yet—Lilith was gone. Their sister was more than dead.

No.

Satan didn’t want that. He didn’t want to be an extension of Lucifer, a twisted reflection of something greater. He despised the thought. He wanted to be his own person.

But as they fell, he could still feel it—the lingering connection, the weight of something unfinished, something that tied him to Lucifer’s very existence.

And he hated it.

He opened his mouth to scream, to demand an answer, but the wind stole his voice.

So he did the only thing he could.

He burned.

But so did they.

The other fallen.

The 5 around him and Lucifer. In tears. In pain. In agony.

Falling beside them.

They were changing. Into something they weren’t before. Into what he was.

They fell as the sky quickly darkened, their celestial forms twisting, warping. Light gave way to shadow, golden halos melting into molten ruin. Lucifer’s transformation was the most violent of all. His radiant form blackened, cracking like glass under the weight of divine wrath.

Horns tore through his skull, curling like a crown of damnation. The remnants of his halo dripped down his face, branding his flesh with trails of molten gold. His wings burning as they slowly turn to something dark as obsidian. The same color wings that were around Satan. The former Morningstar's scream was silent—devoured by the wind, by the fall, by the judgment that had already been cast.

Satan saw it all.

And he swore.

He swore he would never be like Lucifer.

He would never be just a fragment of someone else. He would never be weak. He would never be unprepared. He would never not know.

He would know everything there is to know.

He would never lose like Lucifer did.

He would never get his siblings hurt like Lucifer did.

He would never not know things.

If Lucifer knew enough, none of this would have happened. If he did better their sister wouldn't have been dead, they wouldn't be falling, and he wouldn't have been born.

Michael must have won cause they had knowledge.

Knowledge must be power.

He was Satan.

The Avatar of Wrath.

He would never be Lucifer.

And he would make sure Lucifer never forgot it.

Bonus:

If Satan looked back toward the heavens, he would see angels standing at the ready, spears and arrows drawn, watching the fallen with unreadable expressions. Their faces showed no sorrow, no regret—only duty. They were prepared to strike should the fallen attempt to return, not that they could. Not when their bodies were broken from battle, their forms twisting into something unrecognizable. Not when their wings were gone.

And yet, even as rage consumed him, as his thoughts burned with hatred for the one who led them here, a single presence stood out. A lone figure against the brilliance of the heavens. A single angel still reaching for them.

At the speed they were falling, he was no more than a dot in the distance, but Satan could still see him—his blue eyes filled with grief, his voice lost in the wind as he called out for them, for him, the Morningstar.

Dark skin fighting against the other angles trying to pull the angle back into the gates of heaven.

The angel’s outstretched hand trembled, desperate to catch what was already beyond his grasp. His screams were swallowed by the skies as he watched his brothers, his closest friends, his best friend, disappear into the abyss.

And then, the angle was gone from view. Forced back into the heavens.

In his memories, the ones that weren't really his Satan couldn't remember the angle's name, but remembers his face. The angles face that is. His face, so often calm and composed, was twisted with anguish. In Satan's memories the most recent one of this angle he saw a fight between this angle and Lucifer. Anger, sadness hurt, regret, betrayal was all in the fight with both of them yelling at each other leaving the blue eyed angle sobbing as the red eyed angle walked away. And unfortunately that would be the the last interaction they had before the war.

The heavens remained as they were, perfect in appearance, but stained with betrayal, regret, and wrath.
