i've already talked your ears off about this on discord but i'm happy to talk to about it again bc i fucking HATE new sirius black with a burning passion. i hate him as much as i love my sirius black that marauderstok can pry from my cold dead hands bc i'm not letting him go. i don't know when it happened and why but marauders fans are particularly persistent on taking away any interesting traits sirius had and leaving behind a whimpering pathetic twink that cries when someone looks at him the wrong way. sirius has been scrubbed clean of any morally grey traits he might've had (he's not allowed to care for his family (unless it's regulus) or long for them bc they are bad, he's not allowed to have any prejudices even though he was literally raised with pureblood mentality and taught he was superior to everyone else from the day he was born, he's not allowed to be an asshole bc he's not like his family guys!! and when he is an asshole it's always used to victimize the character he's being an asshole to and sirius is painted as the villain with mommy issues that can only be fixed by getting dicked down apparently)

i cannot stress this enough: LET THIS MAN BE A COMPLEX CHARACTER!! and no, giving him mental illnesses that miraculously disappear when he gets together with remus and making him attempt to kill himself post prank because he feels bad is NOT making him complex! you're just weird. you're just romanticizing mental illnesses and i can't believe you don't see anything wrong with it. giving him bipolar to justify his actions is?? not??? representation??? it's offensive to people who actually have to deal with these issues in their day to day lives and yet here you are using something that will impact their life forever as a plot device for your uwu sadboy mlm fanfic.

and that's what new sirius boils down to. he's a plot device, an accessory to everyone else's story that's never given much depth other than "oh his mom used the cruciatus on him and now he's traumatized". no hate to jegulus but hate to specific jegulus fics that turn sirius into an overdramatic caricature of his former self for the sake of drama and angst.

also, some of these wolfstar shippers... wtf are you guys on?? idk when and why (that's a lie i do but i'm not gonna say it) remus became sirius black in a werewolf costume but here we are. oh sirius was cool and effortlessly smart and handsome and girls wanted him? well guess what? snatches all of those character traits and throws them onto remus they're his character traits now. ignore how it doesn't make any sense for the werewolf child who was isolated from the rest of the world to be a smooth talking alpha casanova who plays basketball actually. while we're at it, ignore how unrealistic it is for a boy who was raised in a family that believed they were superior to everyone else based on blood status, who was raised to be the perfect heir and checked off all the traits needed to be one to be insecure?? and unsure of himself?? and stupid??? and a loser??? i don't understand what the point of flipping the wolfstar dynamic was when you're left with a shallow copy of the original but ok. you do you ig.

to summarize, my sirius is cool and effortlessly smart and egotistical and a complete asshole who thinks he's the best thing ever. is it an act to cover up how damaged he thinks he is because of his family? possibly. but i also fully believe sirius thought he was a god amongst men and everyone should be glad to be in his presence. he talked down to other people because he considered himself smarter, he rolled his eyes when students asked stupid questions and made fun of them when they got an answer wrong. he's a teenage boy let him be a dick with no excuses.

(also i find it funny when people write about sirius getting into a fight with james or remus and crying because they said something mean. as if sirius wouldn't throw hands the moment someone started criticizing him. he's toxic and that's what makes him interesting. that's his purpose! characters exist to make stories interesting, to start drama, not to be your moral guide on how to act. stories become so much more fun once you let go of the need to make every character a good person. also liking a character doesn't equal liking them as a person. i love sirius but i would hate his guts irl)

She would never categorize them as crushes. But besides Zaeed, Wrex and Samara could be considered such. She likes them strong.

Rowan’s all about physical affection. She is a very physical person. But if you’re truly special, you start getting little hints you’re on her mind, or she was thinking of you. Bonus points if it’s something functional that keeps you safe (new armor, weapon upgrades), cause that definitely means she wants you to stay alive and stick around.

💜 - Does your muse date others based on their appearance or personality, or both?

Personality. Appearance may initially draw her, but it alone can’t interest her long enough to stick around or care. Pretty things are fun to play with, but if you don’t have a personality she craves being around? Yeah, you’re not going to see her.

♡ - Is there any kind of person that your muse will never date?

She can’t do naïve. She had all of her innocence and naivety ripped from her young, and doesn’t really have the capacity to deal with it on a casual basis, let alone any deeper ones.

💞 - Does your muse believe in soulmates?

If you ask her, no. But whatever you could get her to describe her believing in would basically amount to the same concept with fussier wording. Not soulmates, but people who click together, who are comfortable on a vibe level. It’s splitting hairs, but she doesn’t like some of the imagery and notions attached to traditional soulmate concepts.

Oh that is a very good question! Well arguably nymphs in general are spirits of nature in general and they involve things like plants or waters etc and Neriads are special due to their connection to Neireus as well as driads are more specifically nymphs that live in the forests but by n large a nymph is a spirit of nature (or a minor divinity see for example Calypso)

That being said Odysseus mentions that Circe had four maidens to do her bidding and then he says:

They were children of the springs of the forests and of the sacred rivers that flow into the sea

So he seems to cover that the nymphs were generally linked to nature or the forest and he seems to mention a lot parts of the forests like springs or rivers so maybe they are also linked to water as well as trees and plans related to water? Judging from the emphasis he gives to the flowing forms of water it seems so. I would just say they are not sea spirits but mostly linked to the island aka nature upon the island but not around it maybe also to place the emphasis that Circe's power extends only to the island of Aeaea but not the openess of the world. So yes I think they are more like river or spring spirits and connected to the forest in general.

The Jegulily Band Au? 👀

hehehe the jegulily band au started on this post made by archie ( @aithusarosekiller ) and it hasn't left my mind since. go look through the reblogs bc it's a wild ride. pretty sure both of us have most of the posts related to it tagged as jegulily band au on our accounts so go look through it to see us losing our minds

it's shared project so nothing is set in stone but here are my current ideas for it :D

lily and regulus are high school sweethearts, they met bc they were both in the school band and hit it off from there. lots of teenage shenanigans ensue and lily and regulus end up forming a band with barty, peter and remus. it's nothing serious they just kinda get together once in a while to have some fun playing random songs. they continue this after high school as they're all going to college and everything is normal UNTIL sirius brings along his friends (james and marlene) to one of their band get togethers.

james (who is an amazing producer btw) immediately falls for regulus and lily despite them being already in a relationship and he's like so smitten it's adorable honestly. he starts talking to them and once he finds out they would love to make an album and try taking this band thing seriously he immediately offers himself up to help them make music. and he brings marlene (who is a social media manager) into it like "yeah she'll help you manage all of it" (she has no idea he's doing any of this)

idk how they would actually get together but it doesn't matter rn what does matter is that their silly little band debuts and they go viral bc their music is amazing ofc. they make more albums, their music videos get millions of views, they sell out stadiums, life is great.

everyone knows that regulily are dating bc they're so public about it, but no one knows that james even exists (apart from him being credited as their producer) let alone that he's dating both of them. james, being the rockstar gf he is, constantly posts pictures from their concerts, always with romantic captions or wtvr bc he's a lover like that. the comments on his posts are always split between "this guy is delusional" and "how tf does he manage to get the tickets for EVERY DAMN CONCERT??"

after lots of back and forth, regulus and lily finally get james to star in one of the music videos for a song that lily wrote specifically about their relationship. they tease the song for months, posting snippets and strange photos with captions that don't make sense unless you're following james and you can see that the captions are all connected. everyone just thinks james is delulu

a week before the music video drops, the band's official account posts like a 10 second teaser and it's of lily and regulus doing couple shit BUT there's another guy there with curly hair and round glasses and everyone is going insane bc WHY DOES THAT GUY LOOK LIKE JAMES POTTER THE CRAZY STALKER. jegulily are having the time of their lives watching the fans go crazy, meanwhile poor marlene has to deal with the aftermath

this au is just a bunch of crazy stuff honestly i had so many ideas for it but i didn't write any of them down so i'm stuck with what i can remember off the top of my head </3

oh and also peter/remus/sirius are all dating and sirius is a famous model and he just randomly appears in the band's music videos and all the comments scream "WHAT IS SIRIUS BLACK DOING HERE" like sirius doesn't regularly post selfies with both of his boyfriends 🙄

Ooh that's hard, I could see a lot of different things happening because in this Percy died, he was dead and gone. That is absolutely going to do horrible horrible things to everyone around him, and of course himself.

See here's the thing about Percy, he's never activity searching for death, but as long as his friends, his family are safe he doesn't need to make it out alive. And in this it worked. He sacrificed himself, camp won. He doesn't see a problem with this, but his friends...

None of them are going to let him out of their sight because at this point he is no longer their fearless leader, untouchable, unstoppable, practically on the same level as the gods themselves. Percy died, they watched the light go out of his eyes, burned his shroud. He was their friend, and no more a god than the rest of them.

I could see Annabeth and Clarisse especially being all over him, and refusing to let Luke go anywhere near him. Which is very strange to anyone else that is looking in. This random kid somehow managed to unite these two very different people who as a rule are at each other's throat.

Ethan's a hard one, I have to admit I haven't played around very much with his character. But I know he's bitter, bitter at the gods, bitter at his mom even though he adores her more than he should. To have to do it all over again? I'm not sure what he would chose, how he would be able to look at such an unscarred version of Percy.

(And yet, isn't ironic that in fact Percy is more messed up than Ethan will ever know. Because he was dead long before Percy fell into the darkness that even the eldest of the gods feared. The boy he was when Ethan died for him no longer exists, drowned in sulfur and poison and the need to survive.)

The reason for their first death/execution is that she was betrayed by the farmer who hid them temporarily in a barn, so she would often point their sword in the presence of new people. The fact that they were the last of their kind and couldn’t remember much of her old life after being resurrected indeed didn’t help in this case. Thankfully, with support from their friends and followers, this problem diminished over time. Aigneas eventually grew to have a few key people she could fully trust, like Ratau, their spouses, Narinder, and all four Pact of the New Faith members.

Even as a mortal, Aigneas has always been fond of spring and considers it her favorite season. They love the mild weather, the freshly blossoming flowers, and the greenery that comes with springtime each year. Some of her favorite holidays also occur during the spring, most of them originating from sheepfolk culture, which they always enjoy remembering.

Uhm.

Kakashi is his own unique brand of Disney princess:-

Crack no Jutsu aside, if I absolutely had to choose an existing, Disney character which he might or might not resemble, I suppose I would have to pick Jiminy Cricket. He was tasked by a higher being to look after a kid and to be his 'conscience' in a world he knew absolutely nothing about. He's quirky, practical, level-headed and knowledgeable. He also receives a gold star in the delivery of all of his quips and wisecracks (in my books). Despite said higher power giving him this job however, he feels severely unqualified and unworthy for the position and doesn't at first know how to deal with his charge's uncooperative nature, becoming easily agitated with the kid not listening to his advice (sound familiar yet?). Character growth happens however, they survive a few perils and eventually Jiminy becomes invested to the point where he genuinely wanted his charge to achieve his goal of becoming 'a real boy', vowing to do whatever he could to help make that happen - much like Kakashi vowed to do with Naruto, since he genuinely believed that Naruto would end up being the one to break the cycle of hatred and usher in a new era of peace once Hokage.

This would probably happen if/when könig finds her again. It's a strange sort of exchange where königs gifts get more elaborate, the most intricate of desserts, since A he loves you and is trying to win you over but B you're severely over paying for an apple tart with pearls.

The nice thing is the stories they share don't make each squeamish so könig gets to share war stories, even the gory ones! Anyone listening by would be on edge hearing the voice of a young girl casual mention inflicting madness onto men. Worse the loud laughter that follows.

I heard that there was a version of Pan’s parentage that his mother was Penelope (Odys wife) & his father was Hermes. I’m quite confused where this came from, is it okay if u can provide an explanation for this version of Pan’s parentage?

Indeed there seem to be version where Penelope of Odyssey appears as the mother of Pan. In Pseudo-Apollodorous Bibliotheca from 2nd AD century seems to take a more colorful version of Pan's parentage in which Hermes is not the only one involved but the suitors as well! In his work he says; "Some say that Penelope was seduced by Antinous, and returned by Odysseus to her father Icarius, and that when she reached Mantineia in Arkadia, she bore Pan, to Hermes." So in this version it seems that Pan was born as a result of some sort of nemesis against Penelope's infedelity. Which ended up Odysseus basically divorcing her and sending her back to her father where Hermes seems to join with her along the way.

But there seems to be a reason for the confusion there. The Penelope mentioned in the myth that includes the parentage of Pan with Hermes most of the time is not Penelope of the Odyssey. It is a different Penelope. This Penelope is a nymph, an Epimelid-nymph that lives in the mountain Kyllene of Arcadia. Her father was probably Dryopos (arguably a god, lesser divinity, of the mountain) -as per Homeric Hymn 19, to Pan hypothsis- but there are some more vague or confusing versions of the myth that makes it unclear on which Penelope thet talk about. Herodotus in particular mentions how "Hermes and Penelope had Pan 800 years before his time and so years later than the Trojan War" thus creating the confusion that this Penelope is in fact the Penelope of the Odyssey especially since Herodotus also brings the examples of Dionysus and Heracles to the story so makes people think that the union between a god and a mortal was the reason of Pan's birth thus associating probably nymph Penelope with Penelope of the Odyssey Now (pseudo-)Hyginus mentions Pan in a catalog between mortals who were turned into gods and then proceds naming Hermes and Penelope for parentage of Pan but it doesn't seem to necessarily connect Penelope with the one in the Odyssey apart from the mention that Pan was, according to him, born a mortal and made a god, thus assuming Penelope to be a mortal and thus the Penelope of the Odyssey since she is he other one Penelope mostly mentioned. But it seems to me that this version is, like Herodotus's history is written a bit vaguely, mentions Arkadia because they confused the nymph Penelope with the Penelope of the Odyssey even if it could be referring to a similar tradition to the one mentioned by pseudo-Apollodorous as well.

There are other versions for the parentage of Pan but yeah as far as the name of Penelope is concerned these are what come from the top of my head. The version of Peudo-Apollodorus kinda reminds me of post-homeric works like Telegony and the like where Odysseus appears to have multiple mistresses or even wives even if Penelope is deemed alive. It seems like a similar intention here where the famous love and fidelity of Penelope is reduced upon a story of betrayal and seduction of hers and thus leading the rage of Odysseus who sends her back to her father. So yeah, hope that helps.
