You might feel better eating more smaller meals, but it wonā€™t affect your metabolism or weight loss. 2. If you want to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. Itā€™s not necessarily easy, but itā€™s simple. 3. Drink your water. Itā€™s important for pretty much everything. 4. There is no food you CANā€™T have. Restrictive diets that make you avoid certain foods are poopoo. 5. If your goal is weight loss or weight gain, you technically donā€™t need to worry about your micronutrients, but they are very important for your overall health. 6. The exact way you split up your fat/protein/carbs depends completely on your lifestyle and needs. 7. Thereā€™s no time limit to when youā€™re allowed to eat. Enjoy a midnight snack if you really want to. 8. Donā€™t be afraid to eat fat. Women, eating enough fat is especially important for dem hormones. 9. Most foods have two or even 3 of the macronutrients. #Repost @cheatdaydesign ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ Wanting sweets is NOT a bad thing. Neither is eating at night. I want that to be clear. That being said, one of the most common questions I get is how to resist the urge to snack at night. I became accustomed to having dessert right after dinner for a long time, which is very common with most people. If I didnā€™t have something sweet immediately after my meal, I would end up having a bunch of snacks later in the evening. It didnā€™t matter what it was- I just needed something sweet. Now, I still have dessert every single night, but I manage it much differently. For starters, I tend to eat dinner later than I used to. In the past, I would eat by 5 or 5:30. But when I did this, Iā€™d end up hungry again by 8 and end up snacking more than I wanted to. I realized that I donā€™t get quite as hungry in the late afternoon/early evening, and itā€™s easy for me to wait an extra couple hours for dinner. When I do this, I donā€™t feel that desire to snack a ton before bed. I also have go-to desserts that I have nearly every single night. Not only does it give me something to look forward to, but I know that theyā€™re desserts that wonā€™t add an excessive amount of calories to my day. Either I go with a serving of light ice cream in a waffle cone (waffle cones are the ONLY cones) or I go with a @yasso pop. It ends up being anywhere from 100-250(ish) calories, and hits the spot every single time. Last but not least- you need to allow yourself to enjoy some sweets sometimes. This seems to be the biggest cause of those late-night cravings. I donā€™t mean eat an entire cheesecake after lunch, but if someone brings in cookies to the office, you can allow yourself to eat a cookie or two. Restricting yourself and NEVER having any sweets is only going to make that urge so much stronger by the end of the night. By allowing yourself to enjoy some sweets sometimes, those cravings wonā€™t build to the point where they are uncontrollable. Snacks just taste better at night- I think itā€™s science. Just FYI thatā€™s zucchini noodles on the left. Lower complex carbs for fat loss does not mean carb free! We need them! Think protein and veggies guys. You canā€™t lose with that program. As for portions, your stomach is about the size of your fist...donā€™t over do it. Most serving portions in restaurants, drive thru etc are too big! But now I love eating at night! When it comes to losing (or gaining) weight, total calories should be your focus. It truly doesnā€™t matter if you spread your calories out over 5 meals, or eat one big meal at night. If calories are the same, the results will be the same. Letā€™s say 2000 calories is a deficit for you. If you eat 2000 calories every day, youā€™ll lose some weight. You can eat 4 meals throughout the day of 500 calories, or wait until 8pm and eat one big 2,000 calorie meal. At the end of the day, youā€™re in the same caloric deficit, and youā€™ll see the same results! Of course, eating late at night might have other effects on you. If you eat right before bed, you might have trouble sleeping. On the flip side, you might wake up feeling like a million bucks with loads of energy! Eating late at night will affect people differently, so you need to figure out if itā€™s right for you. One thing that is very important to note is that if you do choose to eat late at night, youā€™ll likely notice the scale being slightly higher in the morning than youā€™re used to. Between water retention and having food in your system, that is completely normal! Temporary weight gain is NOT fat gain!
