Okay, I want to talk about the Trans Richie headcannon. I'm not going to say anything bad about it, this is just some ideas and opinions about it, regarding it as canon.

I like the idea that if Richie and/or Trevor were trans, they'd be given an alliterative name set originally. Like Richie and Rachel, Trevor and Tracey, or Samantha and Sabrina; something like that. And then when one or both changed their names, they were so relieved that their names didn't start with the same letter anymore. Maybe they even hated it so much that they'd like... go by Chel, CeCe, Sam and Rina. Shit like that, that'd be so funny.

I would really like to see a show about how they grew up. As much as I don't know how to feel about a cis person playing a trans character, I also wouldn't want Richie played by anyone else— *the idea of Jae Hughes as Richie* Okay, that'd actually be pretty sick, and you could have both Trevor and Richie on stage without Jon having to do a bunch of quick changes, or prerecordings, and you could even have them on stage at the same time, but YOU GET WHAT I'M SAYING! Anyway, I think it'd be really neat to have a song of Richie post-transition and Richie pre-transition singing about how they feel out of place, or how they have this secret that they have to keep, pre-trans not being out at all, and post-trans having transitioned in stealth mode. It'd be cook to see 'her' looking in a mirror or something, seeing post-trans Richie there because that's what they want to be. Some fuckin' reflection from Mulan shit, y'know?

Maybe it's just that I want to see Her as a musical, maybe that's my problem... I mean, now I'm thinking about it, and I'm right. I want that so fucking bad. Like, just imagine that for me, will you? I keep specifically imagining a scene of Jeri and Jerry berating 'her' for being too masculine as a song— I'm sorry, I'm being such a dork.

If Jon Matteson did a stream where he read trans richie headcannons and fics, I would fucking cry, especially if Her was included, since I'm very proud of it thus far.

I need like... a 5+1 fic of Richie coming out to people, I'd love that.

Oh, okay, here we go. I like to think that Richie is a cosplayer (my sister disagrees with me, so I know that some people don't agree) but I like to think that him cosplaying masc characters is one of the things that helped him realise his identity. This has nothing to do with the fact that after I started cosplaying TSS I got more masc and embraced that side of me, I don't know what you're talking about.

I wonder what Jon Matteson (and Will Branner, and everyone else) thinks about Childhood Friend Michie, not even them together romantically. Bc like, I fully understand not understanding that ship; I don't fully understand it myself, despite literally shipping it. But them as childhood friends? It almost makes too much sense, whether or not Max knows Richie is trans. Either way, you can make it make sense in some regard. I particularly like how @24-guy handled it in their trans richie story, but I won't spoil that for you (that's also their user name on ao3)

. The way they got together is that Richie used a terrible anime based pick up line and he continues to do them while there together

. Not a Headcannon but just adore how Richie is like always clinging to Pete

. They go on online dates more than in person ones. Like they won't even call because of call anxiety (both of them tbh) and just run around and use in game chat

. When they do in person dates it's always at one of their houses just silently doing things together.

. One time they tried to go out to a restaurant for their anniversary and they both hated it. Completely shut down in two different ways

. The only way Pete will sit on Richie's bed is if he hides those pillows. He loves Richie but thinks they're so odd. Genuinely the most heated argument they had. (At least in high school)

. Heath issue buddies!! Help each other out when they can :3 (disability Headcannons are a wholeee other thing)

. I like to think the way Richie came out to Pete (and Ruth) was that he did the whole literally coming out of a closet thing and then he did a whole slideshow about it that turned into his personal Headcannons for characters. Pete didn't come out till like two years later even though he had known since before Richie even came out to him

. Richie is always taking pictures and videos of Peter for "Film Practice" It's cute until Richie it yelling at him to hold still to focus or redo something

. They both go all out for Halloween!! Though it's always a fight on what the theme for their costumes are and they always end up just going as completely unrelated but Richie insists that in the Subtext it's a couples costume.

You know that Smosh episode where Spencer and Shayne convince Amanda fnaf was real? Brenda has 100% done that to Miss Holloway. Holly didn’t question it for a second because weird shit like that happens all the time in Hatchetfield.

Brenda teaches Holloway all the modern slang and Holloway tells her all the ‘80s slang. And Brenda has spread the ‘80s phrases to her friend group who spread it further and inadvertently caused a retro trend in the youth of Hatchetfield.

Brenda is Holloway’s cooking prodigy. She didn’t think she would enjoy it but once Holly started teaching her she fell in love with the craft. Holloway teaches her all her favorite recipes and Brenda loves to experiment and change them up a bit. Holly has given her a monthly special where Brenda can put anything she wants on the menu.

Miss Retro’s becomes like a second Pasqualli’s that is free from bullying. So all the nerds hang out there but Brenda also brings her cheer buddies and it’s a place where the cliques don’t matter as much and the teens can mix. The nerds play dnd on the back and Brenda has played on a few one shots. (This is just me wanting every character ever to play dnd.)

Holloway helps Brenda with her college applications. Picking a college, exploring majors, writing a letter of rec. Brenda really values the help because she didn’t know where to start. And Holloway is also encouraging of her to go where she wants, not where her parents want her to go or the school where all her friends are.

Hatchetfield Meta Head-cannon: Bill used the Black Book to become Solomon Lauter the Mayor of Hatchetfield

For this scenario we are absolutely gonna ignore that hot minute that Alice and mayor Solomon appear at the same time during Killer Track*

Hear me out: After the events of Watcher World, Bill realized there was some freaky shit going on in Hatchetfield, but he also wanted a way for him and his daughter to be close again. He learned about the black book and used it to give him the money and ability to keep Alice safe.

The power? Become the mayor.

What does he want? Keep Alice safe and have her live with him instead.

What does he give up?

Well, whats the most important thing in the world to Bill? The time spent with his daughter

Bill and Solomon Lauter are the same person. Solomon has all of his old memories, so he remembers the cost of the book. The best way Bill can keep Alice safe is if he doesn't care about her the most of any person, and the same for her. Bill/Solomon has to keep his distance and also make sure that he is not what Alice/Steph cares about most. It doesn't work though, because Max (and his super sense for Nerds) sees Solomon for who he really is: Dorky, musical loving Bill the dad.

Similarly, Alice is now Stephanie Lauter, with no memory of being Alice. She has a similar overall personality, and isn't into the normal popular girl fair (frankly, its interesting she's even considered popular, as she seem perfectly happy to buck all norms). The one big clue they may be the same? The obsession over the phone:

At Watcher World, Alice was glued to her phone and the big tipping point was Bill dropping it off the roller coaster - it literally caused them to almost kill each other. Alice was constantly watching her phone. In Watcher World. Who is influenced heavily by Blinky.

Then later in NPMD, we see that Steph has an unhealthy attachment to her phone, but we don't really understand why beyond the "haha kids today, am I right?"

Solomon even goes so far as to try and smash it with a hammer, and is only stopped when Steph literally places her hand in the way. This scene parallels so hard with the scene in Watcher World where Bill is playing the hammer game and has visions of smashing Alice's head with the big hammer, as he isn't able to win her a Blinky Doll.

I really want to know what's on that phone that is so important to Steph, because she mentions pictures and contacts but never why they are so important to her. I think part of it is Blinky's subtle influence, but what if there's more than just that - what if she has photos she doesn't remember: photos of when she and Bill were a family and they looked happy?

TLDR: Bill Woodward used the black book to change his daughter's fate, making them into Solomon and Steph Lauter, and in doing so lost what was most precious to him: Steph's memories of their happiness as father and daughter

I know the popular headcannon wants Gary to be the father of the twins, but the surnames didn't match. So, to keep it coherent with the ages, I placed him as Paul's cousin on the tree. The twin's father not being Gary, then, I assumed he would be Paul's brother-in-law. Making him Richie's uncle from the maternal side.

As for Boy Jerry, there was nothing saying he had to be Paul's brother, but there was also nothing saying he couldn't. So, yeah, little Jerri is also Paul's nephew.

- they discover maxs love for 60s, 70s and 80 music, his favourite song is December 1963 (oh what a night)

- they’ve danced together in richie’s kitchen at 2am one night when they were alone

- max and ruth become unintentional besties because they lightly tease richie about the same silly things he does (he helps ruth make a tinder/hinge and get a girlfriend)

- they go to a fair, max doing the typical “im going to win you a bear” but finds out richie is a master of fair games and max is mesmerised (they kiss on the ferris wheel)

- max has a truck and he and richie often make the back into a bed, lots of blankets and pillows, they stargaze and richie points out stars, max gives them names like you would a pet

- richie has stolen a decent amount of maxs hoodies, i’m return max has a few of richie’s oversized jackets, they have characters and writing on max neither knows or can read but they smell like richie

- richie makes max mixtapes that they play in the car

- max loves being the little spoon, he would never admit it but richie knows

- paul has found them cuddled together on the couch several times (he has many a photo he hopes to show at their wedding one day)

- max and richie have family meals with paul and emma every 2 weeks, they go to restaurant and catch up properly

- they spend college mostly apart, doing long distance, max visits richie on weekends and whenever they have time off, both working jobs on their respective campuses and saving to get a place together
