internet safety we were taught as kids: don't share ANY personal information with ANYONE EVER the british government: you don't want to give these random third parties your photo or driving licence showing your name, birthday, address and signature? are you perhaps a nonce?

untagged rant i cant really put anywhere else
idk how people have kids, iāve been a third parent to my brother since he was born, (he tried telling multiple people he was MY kid)
but whenever he asks to sleep in my room and watch a film i canāt sleep, im constantly looking over to check heās still okay, or making sure heās not gonna fall off the bed, or that heās breathing or whatever⦠heās 8, heās perfectly fine but i have this dread and anxiety š like how are people parents, how are you not completely sleep deprived worried about your kids 24/7 and if thatās the case then why on earth would anyone have kids

Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.Ā It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search termsĀ
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.Ā As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
ā
Google is so powerful that it āhidesā other search systems from us. We just donāt know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

an underrecognised tragedy of AI slop isn't just that any piece of contemporary art could be AI, any news reel could be AI, it's that now just any video of something vaguely nice and whimsical happening in the world could be AI
this is about the trampoline bunnies

Gwaine in a large amount of Arthurian myths: I'm a serious knight and, while I do screw up occasionally, I try my best, which is the main thing.
Gwaine in Merlin: *swishing his gorgeous hair out of his eyes and revealing half his man-cleavage whilst he grins flirtily at Merlin* I'm bisexual, I'm Irish and I hate the monarchy; fancy a kiss?-

I think the reason the Hatchetfield story is such a gut punch, that you canāt help but feel deeply for these characters, is that so many of these awful tragic events happen to teens, if not children. Richie, Ruth, Grace, Steph, and Pete, but also Deb and Alice, Ethan and Lex, Hannah and Tim. Hell even all the roller rink kids, the Abstinence Camp campers, Jerry Junior, the kids Miss Holloway worked with and lost. Max and Kale hurt people but they were young. How many trees in Witchwood Forest were kids who didnāt know they wouldnāt come home for dinner that night?
#pair this with the fact that the black book is literally written with the blood of children#hatchetfield is tragic#hatchetfield#hatchetverse#nightmare time#npmd#tgwdlm#bf starkid#starkid#hatchetfield lore you will always be special to me
