So I've seen a couple of old posts that said/implied that Barry was being emotionally manipulative when he convinced Cisco to open a breach to Earth-2 for the first time, and that is just...Not Correct At All, so let's take a second to break down how this situation really goes down:

Barry needs a way to get to Earth-2/get Zoom back to Earth-1 so he can defeat him once and for all, and free the real Jay from his prison and the entire rest of Earth-2 from Zoom's reign of terror.

Cisco is intimidated by his own powers. On one hand, he doesn't really see himself as someone who's capable of doing great things on his own and not just as a way of helping someone else doing bigger, greater things. But on the other hand, he knows that there is a tremendous power inside of him, and he's terrified of taking advantage of that and becoming someone like Reverb or Zoom, who uses that power against innocent people for his own gain.

Barry is aware of Cisco's insecurities regarding his own capabilities, but not of his fear of turning evil.

Barry knows that Cisco isn't having the best time trying to open breaches and failing, and promises him before one attempt that if it doesn't work that time, he will stop asking him to do it.

They discover that Cisco CAN open breaches, but he freaks out and refuses to do it anymore without explanation.

Barry, still needing a breach to Earth-2 and knowing now that Cisco IS capable of making one, goes to talk to Cisco and reassure him that it's okay to be scared, and hopefully persuade him to try again.

During this talk, Cisco reveals what he is actually afraid of. Barry assuages his fear and lets him know that he has faith in him, and that even if Cisco ever does almost go off the deep end, he has a support system that will keep him in check.

After helping Cisco address his fears, Barry asks him if he's ready to try again. Cisco decides that he is.

Cisco THANKS Barry for believing in him, because that's really what he needed—just for someone to believe that he could do something important and not either fail or turn to the dark side.

What DIDN'T happen:

Barry pushing Cisco too hard for selfish reasons with no regard for Cisco's own comfort level, and using "we're your family" to guilt him into doing something that's too much for him to handle. Like, seriously, where the hell did that takeaway come from?

my peter pettigrew exists mostly in terms of gender transgression 🐀. i feel that the specific kind of envy he holds for james — the mingled love & admiration, the longing, the wistful psychosexualism of it— it’s the kind of jealousy that young girls feel towards other girls.

peter is more complex in his longing than someone like severus! he’s more cynical about it! because peter doesn’t even necessarily want to BE james anymore, he’s known for a very long time that it’s impossible, all he wants is to subsume him. it’s like— 19th century sapphic vampire romance levels of psychosexual. Carmilla levels.

because the tragedy of it is that he loves james! not even romantically: peter KNOWS him, better and longer than anyone else. and the insane duality of that love is slowly driving him mad.

peter might be the most romantic character in canon to me. he’s the only marauder that knows they’re all doomed! he gave up the idea he could ever be normal about james a long time ago, but he also can’t not be around him, because he loves him. so he’s resigned to giving his entire life away - just wants to be near him, let it consume him, let it ruin them both! let them burn up with it!

it’s shakespearean in the scope of it. it’s the slow horror of this psychosexual envy overtaking him, extinguishing all that he cares about. not wanting to hurt someone and being unable to let them go.

and i think he’s pretty. these are thin actors and my peter is fat but i picture his facial structure all mousy & angelic like these two:

RokCale brother AU:

KRS reincarnated as Cale's younger brother and because his first life is more fucked up than canon, he become unhinged in an obsessive way toward Cale, codependency and attachment issue at best

Cale is older by 5 years than Roksu and he basically Roksu's primary caretaker since their mother's death

Roksu is a sly and manipulative kid, always monopolize his hyung's time and attention

He doesn't like to share and want to keep his brother for himself, even from their family

Roksu resent Deruth who 'hurt' Cale, although not openly show it

He harbor ill feeling toward Basen and Violan who made Cale 'sacrifice' himself

But Roksu never trully hurt them, just make their life a 'little bit' difficult because he doesn't want to make his hyung sad or upset for seeing them 'hurt'

Ron is the only one who is aware of Roksu's darker side because he always with the brothers

Let's say that Roksu 'threatened' him to keep quiet

Roksu never let people get to close with Cale nor he let his hyung attached to someone other than him

It's subtle but Roksu always isolating Cale from other people whose not him

People know Roksu as a silent but good and obedient kid while they see Cale as the unruly brother

In a way, Roksu also adding fuel to rumor regarding Cale so no one ever approach him to take him away

No but seriously for all those who relate to Mr. Puzzles just want you to know your accomplishments alone do not define your value and worth as a person. Even when you’re a messy work in progress, you are loved and appreciated more than you may recognize. Thank you for being here. Don’t get me wrong it’s good to be idealistic and set goals, but don’t undermine yourself if you don’t get that perfect score….or if you start to fall behind compared to everyone else. Everyone goes through those moments of doubt or perceived failure. We need to fail every once in a while. And that’s okay

(Something I noticed abt Betty and Simons relationship)

I love Betty and Simon’s relationship, I think their back story is so cute and romantic and all that lovely stuff don’t get me wrong.

But there’s this under tone of Betty constantly giving things up for Simon and we don’t really talk about it a lot???

Like, Betty let Simon have his moment with the artifact and the pubic, she also doesn’t go to her trip in favor of going on an expedition with Simon. Then when she goes to leave again she stays for Simon.

Even Fiona is like “you went with her on the bus?” And Simon just looks all confused like “what? No, why would I do that?” Like- hello???

Then after that she gave up her entire life and mind to get Simon back to the point where she literally says “I don’t know who I am without him anymore.” And that just sucks! Since the beginning Betty has been the one giving up the most, her mind, her own possible career, and it’s a story of love of course and it’s very sweet but it’s also a story of sacrifice.

Their love wasn’t a perfect solution, it was already sort of imbalanced when it started and I lowkey love how we see those cracks even before they’re together.

Again, I love their relationship and I think it’s sweet. I just think we should talk about Betty’s side more, especially when she tells a story of what most women do in relationships, sacrifice.
