The Diaz parents are gonna be in for a rude awakening when they realize that Chris is in Texas with them for the sole purpose of getting space from his dad, not to fulfill their long-awaited familial fantasy.

🌧️ 🌧️ 🌧️!!!!!!!!!
⛈️ angsty spiralling Eddie / addict Buck au
aka Eddie loses Chris in a custody battle with his parents and they take him back to Texas, so he spirals into street fights and meets a very down on his luck Buck. Have some Eddie yelling at his mother because we could all use some of that.
"There's no reason I can't have my son and Buck! Who I..." Eddie's voice hitched in his throat at the words that threatened to spill out in his agitated state. "You don't get to have a say over who I have in my life, who I care about."
"Do you think that's the kind of environment, the kind of upbringing that's best for your son?" she said, and with her scolding tone, something in him snapped.
"Well what about yours?!"
Eddie has tears in his eyes, and both his parents fell silent with a momentary regretful expression.
"I am your son, and all you did when my wife left, when she died, was tell me that I wasn't capable of taking care of my son. Instead of helping me you just took him! I disagreed with your parenting methods and you just used any power you had to undermine me, to just... blindside me with a court case, because you knew I'd never just give up on him."
His mother opened her mouth and gaped a moment before taking in a breath as though there was anything she could say to defend herself. Eddie didn't give her the chance.
"And why shouldn't I disagree?" he said incredulously. "Look at me! I am your son, and you don't give a shit about helping me. You can't even parent your own son, what makes you think you'll do a better job with mine?"
pick a wip, and make me write!

Least favorite 911 characters:
Doug. (Deserved to be killed)
The Buckley parents (I hope they never return)
Chim's dad and stepmother (abandoning his son)
Abby (she didn't deserve Buck)
Shannon (idk, she just gives me bad vibes)
The Diaz parents (both terrible)
Athena's mother Beatrice (not cool how she treated Bobby)
Gloria (she was kinda cool in the episode where she briefly returned to thank Maddie)
Claudette (a bully)
Eva (Thank God she's gone.)
Gerrard (I really hope he leaves soon)
Tommy (I know he's probably changed, but until it's confirmed, I don't like him.)

Fic idea 911 x 911 Lone Star
So I live in a world where the 126 and the 118 remained friends and communicated via social media.
After a few weeks in Texas Chris can't take his grandparents anymore. But now that they have him they don't want to let go. They won't hear of him going back to LA. He doesn't have access to his cell. They monitor his online time.
But Chris once stole his Dad's phone to call an Uber. He's got this. He manages to look up a Greyhound schedule and memorized credit card information to purchase it. He decides the shortest path to help is to get to Austin. (Google says it is about half the time from El Paso to Austin vs El Paso to LA).
So he sneaks out. Maybe he makes friends with an elderly woman so everyone just assumes he is her grandson.
15 hrs later he arrives to a very shocked 126.
His path to getting back to Eddie is made easier as it took almost 8hrs before his grandparents notified anyone.

I just found a fic in my drafts that I started in the summer before the new season started.
I don’t know if I should continue it or not it definitely won’t be canon compliant but I think if I manage to get it written out it could be so much fun to do.
It’s from Chris’ POV while he’s in Texas getting to know about his parents childhood and his Tia’s.
In this fic Adriana is ten years younger than Eddie and it’s made me realise that although it’s totally different circumstances her and Eddie kind of mirror Chris and Shannon.
Eddie went to war when Adriana was 8/9 was gone for nearly 4 years. Came back for around a year then moved to LA.
Shannon left when Chris was 5/6 was gone for 2 years and then came back for months and then died.
I think it would be neat to have Adriana be like this young woman who just wants her brother to talk to her like he used to because he’s the coolest person she knows. She’ll then realise he’s a massive dork and not actually that cool but you get me.
Sophia I hadn’t got to adding yet but I would have her in the middle of the two age wise so that Eddie still felt the shift from only child to big brother but he and Sophia were a little team and she’s more angry that he left and just cut them off. But she’d be the one to be able to help Chris learn about his parents as kids because she was old enough to remember better than Adriana.
Chris would end up arguing with Helena and Ramon about the way they’ve handled everything.

I don't know if someone has already spoken this theory in existence (I'm new in the fandom but I'm sure someone's already thought about it at least), but I had a horrible thought that is now basically a headcanon for me.
Say Eddie was openly bi/pan/demi/queer in his teens to his family for one reason or another with their reactions varying. What if when Chris was conceived, one of the reasons the Diaz parents were so insistent that Eddie and Shannon get married was to get their son in a "straight" relationship? I mean, they disliked/hated Shannon and made her life hell, so one more reason for the pressure applied could be that?
I hate my mind for going there, but honestly, I see it from them.

Do you ever think about the fact that if Eddie hadn’t walked out of that well, and never had a chance to change his will, Christopher would have gone with Eddie’s parents? He would have been ripped away from LA. He would gotten ripped away from pretty much everything and everyone he loves. Buck. Carla. Pepa. The 118. His friends. His teachers. His school. And he would have probably spent the rest of his life being infantilized by Eddie’s parents. By the time he’d be an adult he’d probably have learned the same wrong lessons about his emotions and his trauma that Eddie did. He would have been forced into a life that Eddie didn’t want, a life Eddie knew, from experience, Christopher didn’t deserve.
I’m thinking about that currently - and I’m sobbing.

The fact that the foster care system in 911 (idk how it is irl) cares more about parental reunification than the Diaz parents is actually my villain origin story...
i don’t care if helena & ramon are the most amazing perfect guardians in the universe to chris, it’s shitty that they're not working toward reunification of their son and grandson like they should be

Controversial opinion, but the way people have been criticizing Chris for still giving Eddie the cold shoulder has been rubbing me the wrong way.
Now, the fact that Chris is still icing out Eddie three months later bothers me, too. But we really have to think about the circumstances. We're not talking about a teenager giving his dad the silent treatment because he took away his phone privileges.
We're talking about a young teenager who's still very much reeling from the trauma of seeing his dad kissing a woman who looked like his dead mother. The same dead mother who is the catalyst for his current abandonment issues and created the mindset within him that people are inevitably going to leave him. So much so, that he strung along multiple female classmates into thinking they were dating him.
And don't forget, when Buck went to talk to him before he left, he told him that for a second, he had thought that Shannon had actually come back to him, only for it to not be the case. So for him to see that and his father kissing her while having a girlfriend no less, that probably felt like the ultimate betrayal. And given who his grandparents are, I'm willing to bet that they haven't brought up the topic of what happened for Chris to actually get his feelings out about.
I'm not saying I want Chris to treat Eddie like this forever, but I do think that the kid needs to be extended the necessary grace given the situation.

rewatching with the benefit of distance from the actual viewing - it really is so loud at how much tommy treats buck like a child - like literally every single interaction they have in 805 is like a parent talking to a child.
Combined with the shows decision to have Tommy call Buck 'Evan' all the time, feels like they're really trying to convey that this is the relationship equivalent of Buck's childhood and young adulthood - before he became Buck. When he was figuring out his place in the world and who he wanted to be. Its very much feeling like in combination its leading up to him getting to the same place in his bisexuality as when he started at the LAFD academy and changed his name to Buck - that he will make the choice from a bisexual perspective to become Buck and leave Evan behind once more.

His mother saying 'you can mail him anything he forgot or we'll just replace it' 🤬 not even pretending like he's welcome to come see his son
also what was the point of eddie actively working on his relationship with his parents in the past 2 seasons if they were just gonna be borderline manipulative in their eagerness to whisk chris away to texas without so much as giving him a DAY OR TWO to think about this decision he's clearly made in the heat of his anger. like. it's so obvious that zero thought went into any of this. forget eddie and chris' relationship for a moment; how is eddie's relationship with his parents EVER gonna recover from this? once eddie comes down from his guilt and grief, how is he ever gonna forgive them for taking advantage of the situation?

Half questioning my memory of the post s4 era, half side eying a certain character, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there was ever a time when the Buddie fandom fully took the single “Evan” from the season 4 finale as Eddie receiving “Evan” privileges from then on. From my recollection, fics stayed mostly consistent with their uses of “Evan” by Eddie, perhaps just with an emphasis on important moments (love confessions, Christopher’s adoption papers, wedding vows, NDEs, etc.) after the finale. And I had to stop myself from wondering why that is because I know why. We all know. Because nobody wanted to use “Evan” in fics when Buck had just told his parents that people who know him call him Buck. So Buddie fandom heard that, accepted it, and uses it only sparingly. In canon and fanon, even Maddie only rarely uses “Evan” anymore, and it feels even less common for her to use post-Buck Begins (if at all, actually). So the fact that Tommy and BT fans tend to use “Evan” (at least, this has been my experience) is so utterly jarring. Buck told everyone his preference, and I believe LFJ has spoken about being told to use only “Evan” when referring to Buck, so I simply do not understand anyone who believes that BT is in love already or endgame. Yes, it could go the “Buck gave Tommy ‘Evan’ privileges off-screen” route, but then why push it off-screen? It would be a major allowance made for a new love interest, and a significant step in Buck’s character arc. Yet we see nothing of the sort. So why would anyone believe that’s what happened? The last we heard, Buck had told his parents and everyone else to call him Buck exclusively, with the minimal exception of Maddie (who was, for most of his childhood, his one and only lifeline and confidant). That sort of history and characterization is not ignored if there is not something very wrong with the writers’ room. It was not even ignored by a significant portion of the fandom post-season 4, although Eddie gaining permanent “Evan” privileges would’ve been a strong indicator of a Buddie endgame (had an on-screen explanation of Eddie gaining this privilege been released). It was not ignored, and it did not change the nature of Buck in fic nor fanon. So why in hell is the same not holding true for a brand new relationship like BT?
