anyway just doing my part--

i watched the dead boy detectives and loved it. with both yockey and carver involved, some loving homages to spn and other similar shows, but it still felt original. the stories were fun even if they got very dark, the casting was great, and i'm excited for where it's going next.

we've been told over and over that netflix cares if people FINISH the season in a certain amount of time, so please give it a go as soon as you can!

Anyway, I just thought of something for my Housewife Vox AU.

One day, the 1950s internalized misogyny and homophobia gets to Vox, and he has a crisis about wearing dresses AND bottoming for a man and how those two things are related. Like, "Of COURSE I'm the one who takes it, I'm wearing a fucking dress! Why did I ever think that was a question!"

Just. Suddenly thinking that Alastor must think less of him for both of those things, and that everyone (ie Alastor and Rosie) who knows him are laughing behind his back about it, for whatever reason.

It just all gets to him at once one day, and he has an entire breakdown about it.

Alastor does his best to comfort him and tell him that wearing a dress and preferred sexual position aren't related at all, and that he would eviscerate anyone who ever dared to think of mocking him about either. "My dear, our delightful Rosie wears dresses, and none would say she is weak for it, and neither are you, darling!" Etc etc.

It barely works, but at least Vox stops crying.

What DOES work is that the next time Vox wants to be intimate, Alastor makes Vox wear a suit regardless of whatever he was wearing before. Vox is confused, but just goes with it.

And then Alastor puts on a dress and fucks Vox until he's crying for a whole 'nother reason, and afterwords asks Vox if he still believes that whatever he chooses to wear is demeaning or says anything about his sexual preferences.

(Thus, the swarmy manipulative businessman version of Vox is eventually born, just with less internalized shit from when he was alive).

(Alastor still generally doesn't wear dresses or skirts, but he will if Vox picks out an outfit and wants him to. But now Vox knows it's more of a personal preference with his clothing and nothing judgemental against him wanting to wear them).

Thinking about how in some continuities the Lazarus pit heals scars and makes them disappear and the mixed feelings Jason must’ve had about it

On one hand he’s happy he no longer has to worry about covering his scars and not having to wear specific clothes to make them less noticeable parents are no longer telling their children to stay away from him at parks

On the other hand it felt like somebody was taking something from him taking Jason’s story his trauma and the validity of it

He felt like everything he went through was less important because he didn’t have the scars to prove it

Would people believe Jason when he said what the joker did to him?

Did Jason believe joker did that to him? Or was it another story Talia fed to him?

Because as much as Jason hated his scars they were his

And they were taken away just like so many other things in his life

The possibility of a relationship with Sheila

They took Bruce and dick and Alfred

And they took robin….

Robin gave him plenty of scars but it also gave him pride a sense of hope and it gave him magic it made him happy

And then Tim TOOK it just like everything else not just robin but he took his family why did everyone take what was his?

And this one hurt more than any other because it wasn’t a stranger or a monster taking it this Time it was his dad taking it away it was his dad REPLACING him like he meant nothing

But the one thing no one could take from Jason was his anger he could be as angry as he wanted and NOBODY was taking that so Jason wrapped himself in his anger he used the anger as a shield as a suit of armor

He laid the anger over everything that was taken from him the place where his scars once were the love for his family the magic he once had the magic robin gave him was now his anger and nobody could take that from him

Maybe one day Jason will realize no one wanted to take that from him that if he wanted it he could still have his family but if he has his family back what happens when someone takes it again?
