I just had a DPxDC crossover idea that I thought was funny.

What if every time John Constantine sold his soul he was basically agreeing to being “adopted” by the entity he was selling his soul to.

He thinks all of the entities he sold his soul to are leaving him alone because they’re too busy fighting/have a truce to not fight as long as none of them claim his soul, meanwhile he’s got like a dozen or so ghost/demon parents ready to go to court to fight for custody when he finally dies.

Danny, having been taken in as a ward by an older ghost since he technically counts as a baby ghost until he’s 100 or something, meets Constantine for the first time and is like: “Why are you 1/15th my brother?”

Bonus points if Danny is technically the big brother in ghost terms because he’s been a ghost the longest. Sure Constantine may be a little liminal but that doesn’t count he doesn’t even have a death day yet.

Like:

Danny (Certified little shit): “Baby brother why do you never come to dinner? :(”

Constantine, too sober for this: “The fuck did you just call me?”

Constantine vehemently denies any relation but they bicker like siblings.

This reminds me of that irritating post encouraging people to be okay "just not liking people" without doing any kind of introspection about why. Just like. If you're having a negative reaction to someone, take a second to analyze why, and if they really deserve whatever hostility you're directing their way. Even if you think you're hiding it people can usually tell if someone doesn't like them, and that can wreak havoc on their emotions and self esteem, depending upon their level of confidence and shit giving about the opinions of others. Don't fuck with someone's emotions because you don't want to do the bare minimum of figuring out why you don't like them.

You gotta learn when to take a step back and say "this isn't actually about you, it's a reaction caused by something or someone in my past which you accidentally triggered" or you'll keep projecting whatever bullshit happened in your past onto new people who had nothing to do with the trauma in question.

Honestly it's the fact that Armand IS so much more powerful than Louis that makes me really love their D/s dynamic. Not that D/s dynamics in which the Dom is more powerful than the sub aren't beautiful. They are. But for me personally, the fact that Armand has immense power and is giving all of that up to Louis, someone with significantly less power than him, is so deeply touching. Maybe it's just because I'm more physically powerful than the three Doms in my life, so seeing that resonates with me. But whatever the reason, I love it.
