I haven't done a comic in 4 years now, I can't believe this is my come-back XD. Though, on that note, know that I probably won't be pumping out any more comics - not any time soon, at least. But I do got more stuff planned for this au! If you ask about it, I'll 100% rant about it LOL

Okay

So when you look up what the fastest bird in the world is, Google with show the Peregrin Falcom

But there's a catch

The Peregrine is only fast when diving

When it dives to catch its prey, it can go up to 389km/h

Which yeah, pretty fast

But when casually flying, it only goes up to 120 iirc

The Needle Tail?

It can go up to 170km/h

Some have even recorded going over 300! (Close to the Falcon's dive, I believe)

Additionally, these birds only fly. Their habitat is literally listed as "the air," and some even believe they sleep while flying! They only ever land to brood and mate, and then they're off again. Their legs are so short that, if they ground, they can't fly again because it doesn't give enough room to flap their wings.

It fits Blurr perfectly!

It also has a blue-ish colour pattern I can work with lol (it's green, but it looks blue, lol)

Though, also, he isn't 100% like the Needle Tail, just based off of it. I still want avians to be sorta their own species and doesn't have to be exactly like their bird counterparts cuz they aren't them, they're their own thing.

That said, Blurr is one of the shortest from Avians population, still.

They're pretty big.

Another trivial detail of the design!

I was stuck between having his arms be his wings or have them be separate

Until I saw a drawing where they had both, and I realised, "Wait, why isn't that done more often! That's so cool!"

So that's sorta what I did

It's mainly to catch small prey when grounded and to stay better perched up on trees since they're much bigger and having extra fingers helps a lot. Or when they're climbing against a tree to pick up fruits, it gives them an extra boost and can better hang from it

But they're pretty much useless besides that lol

Just neat lil design choice

Other lore stuff. The time in which the au takes place is vaguely modern? But with fantasy aspects? I still haven't decided lol

Technology exists, but not in the way we have it sort of deal, idk, this au is pretty bare bones right now, so go wild with it XD I don't mind it, I love brainstorming it with people. I know this au isn't as big or complex as some others out there, but it's fun, and I hope yall like it too fjsjajaj

So petty that noticing how much they hate Lilith (cuz she's Lucifer's wife) and mimzy (cuz she stopped hell's greatest dad song) makes me one of the biggest fans of these two women and then I loved them unironically because I love women doing dubious things and support women's wrongs

Oh god yes the misogyny in the R@dioapple fandom is the reason why I stopped shipping it. I know that not every shipper hates Lilith but the bashing in comics and fanfictions I saw was just so overwhelming, even when I filtered out the Lilith morningstar bashing, Lilith morningstar is a bad mother/person and Abusive Lilith morningstar tag people still involved Lilith being "evil"

The thing I found ironic is that people accuse her of attempting to separate Lucifer and Charlie, being a power hungry manipulator and abusive and like do you know who is all that? Alastor! He literally tried to get between Lucifer and Charlie, we know that he is a manipulator, he literally sang that he wants to "pull all the strings" and then he threatened Husk and pulled the leash which caused Husk to be on his knees shaking and scared like shit, I don't care what people say that was emotional abuse and we don't how far he would went have went if Husk continued to talk about Alastor's deal

Don't get me wrong I love Alastor but the fact that people ignore how terrible he is and put the blame somehow on characters like Lilith and Roo because they own and force him to do terrible things despite him being a serial killer before arriving in Hell (no leaks please) while villainizing a woman who hasn't said anything yet and had like 3 seconds screen time

And my girl Mimzy, I never understand why People hated her, she didn't even interrupted hells greatest dad, Lucifers and Alastor's part was already over if she didn't had appeared they would have argued or even fighted, she probably saved Alastor and i don't care what people say, I love her part in the song! Despite never really watching Steven universe, I listen regularly to other friends and drift away because Sarah stiles is a phenomenally singer, that plus her character design? How am I not supposed love Mimzy!! Why does she have more character Vox)

And people disliking her for bringing the loan sharks to the hotel is just a silly reason like it is not even the worst what happened to the hotel it was slightly damaged and the radio demon and King of hell were there so it wasn't even in great danger(if Lucifer would have done anything to defend) like even Adam gets less hate for bringing an army of exorcists to the hotel and destroying it completely

How the two are treated in the fandom shows how misogynistic it really is, like a woman getting between a MLM ship is enough to make her evil in the eyes of people. And if they actually turn out to be evil? I support women wrongs and people love characters like Vox despite him being a evil, arrogant, asshole capitalist who we see brainwashing other people to buy his products. Why can't we love evil women too?

i feel like im playing the game right. unlike stardew, fields of mistria doesnt make me feel bad for not using every second of the day. i think fom has a nice balance between easy and not too easy

i kinda feel like im going slow and fast at the same time? time during the day passes in a blink of an eye but when i look at the calendar im like still halfway through the season. idk how to feel abt it yet

my time management is so bad 😭😭 im terribly forgetful so i'd like set a goal for the day and a second later i'd be like "wait what" but i dont usually mind cuz i dont feel rushed by the game at all which i really appreciate. i think that mistria places a huge emphasis of getting to know the people and i love that

i like a LOT about the game: the soundtrack (especially the mines music), the aesthetics, character sprites art, environment art, the art in general, i LOVE the characters so much, it feels like everyone has their own thing but you can't tell all of the stuff they're about immediately i think? like i didn't realize Holt made toys until i saw his station in his house, i love environmental storytelling <33 honestly i love that most of them are so kind to you, it's the kind of game i personally needed. i love that the combat is not a clicker and that u gotta watch how the monsters act to figure out the best way to defeat them, i love the set up, i love that the earthquake has lingering consequences on the town and the community. it's a lot of fun <33 ofc i have some criticizms too and stuff to improve but im too tired rnfjsndbd

OH AND THE LORE!!! i need to know more about mistria's lore. especially the magic and all that stuff thats goin on in the mines

i love all of the characters fr, my fav love interesrs are Ryis and Adeline. Ryis is just so sweet and kind and gorgeous, he loves birds, he's from a family of bakers, he has family with a lot of sisters in the capital that send him care packages with cookies, HE LOVES BIRDS (<- it was the thing that had me like "you're the one"bfjsnhdsnbd) just a disney princess type of guy

Adeline just got me in her palms and i'm not even sure why or how exactly yet but all i know is that i walk around her like a puppyfjsnbd she's such a nerd and i adore her, she loves doing paperwork and calls it a "party", she is the heir to the land and she loves taking care of it and its people but forgets to take care of herself and im just like *biggest wettest eyes at her* also pink hair. oh mh god

and like i think all of the other townies are so cool. I love the kids, theyre the cutest and i love seeing them around town doing their thing. i love that we have different models of families like. man i'm so excited for more stuff in this game

omg thanks for your response!! i feel like i relate to many things you said. i haven't played a farming sim before bc i didn't think i would like it. since i would prefer games w some kind of story or lore, i didn't think this game would be for me. really, i had no idea what to expect in the game

i feel like i'm also going slow and fast while playing! the day goes by so so quickly but i also feel like maybe i'm not doing enough. sometimes i'm thinking "why are my crops growing so slowly please grow faster!!!" but then i'm surprised w how quickly they grow. i get up and see my tomatoes and corn ready to be harvested. but for the most part, i feel like i'm going at it too slow. i'm almost done w summer but i just got magic

i relate to what you said about time management. there are some items on a task that i just couldn't find so i do another task. then i just entirely forget to search for that item (like i cannot find seaweed still). then literally TODAY i was in the mines for too long and had to rush home. the next in-game day i went to the mines earlier in the day to not make the same mistake.

the music in the game is amazing! i find myself humming along while playing or humming when i'm doing something else. i'm surprised that i even remember how the music goes. i've played totk for a bit but i can't remember a single song. i love how everyone has different seasonal outfits. i really like how celine has a different outfit in the early morning. (idk if other characters have a different outfit at that time i can't remember). i'm glad i could play the game bc i'm gonna be moving back to school soon and this would be a nice way to take a break from coursework.

i also like how most of the characters are nice to your farmer. i just cannot pick one favorite character. it's too hard for me to bc they are all so lovely 😭. i agree that the kids are cute! i try to give luc a bug each time i see him.

Ive never been more pissed than when i found out aki max and Audrey didn’t end up together. Not like usually tho. This isn’t me goinh *ugh but i ship them so much“ no. I couldn’t care less about whether i like their ship or not. Thsi is about polyamory representation. They build up two seasons like that, finally giving you hope of seeing a poly couple that doesn’t end bad. In the first season k might have been like „oh this is bait“ but then they actually got together and i was so happy. But no. You give me yet another polyamorous story that end in betrayal. You guve me one single poly couple and call it representation and then they end bad?

The fact that they actually were together doesnt make it better.

"How are you alive but souless??" "Ew oh my god is the DRAGON YOUR SOUL???" "What do you MEAN youve died and every peice of soul is going to you because youve LOST YOUR OWN REALITY????" "YOURE BEING CHASED??????" and all of that info being forced out of some guy who just does not know how to comprehend being a person (because he isnt exactly one)

i have a few comics in mind!!! (shitty sketchbook example above) so as soon as i reintroduce like the main characters to my insta (through the wip in this post) Ill definetely get a move on to some silly interactions, before they meet the whole main plot and other characters!!!!!

I never had any ocs that stuck around before making coach for the stupidest crack fic with my friends,, so idrk how this is supposed to work but whatever. He isn't a very nuanced character yet, but he'll get there eventually.

on the google doc for planning False-hearted (the insane crack fic) this is what was written for coach a while back

"Coach: (deals with some behind the scene shit and plans “plays” to do in battle) {Boss Man} He plans plays for battle but also is in battle observing and making plans on the spot- like we all have radios and hes armed creepin around being like oooooo we got an abandoned sentry ill get that which opens up a space for someone else to come in and yada yada u get the idea (long story short i'm specifying that he gets a gun and gets to be in battle cause teehee silly) YOOOO HE CAN LIKE TRAIN THE MERCS N SHIT BY ANALYSIZING THEIR SKILLS IN BATTLE AND SEEING WHAT TGET CAN WORK OJ AND RAAGGHH cuz they got that training gym area right? coach the personal trainer lol"

in terms of who this guy is, he gets along well with pretty much everyone, bullies scout like a brother a lot tho. no hard feelings ofc. since a very young age he had a lot of pressure and responsibility dropped on him, so while he is immature and messing around sometimes, he is wary of being too obnoxious, is never vulnerable with others, and puts up this false rigid cool leader guy persona. For now at least.

He may not talk to others about his emotions or whats going on with him, but he doesnt just bottle it up and never think about it. Hes got an over analytical brain and has looked into every single thing hes ever done or said and seems to truly understand so very much about himself. Hes knows the issues he has but cant bring himself to fix them because that takes being vulnerable and brave. Some things he cant be. He appears brave to others in your typical "do whatever it takes to help others and jump into action without worry" way tho.

In terms of backstory and what growing up was like? I havent decided yet lol

6. Moose Tracks- What does a typical night in look like for you two?: well after a night patrol,he'll come into the loft. Usually thru the ceiling window or thru the side door 2nd exit near the pantry in the kitchen. But rarely he'll use the front door. If he does....some bad or really really good news is probably gonna be put down. He'll climb into bed and snuggle next to me. Sometimes he'll take off his spiderduds but sometimes not. And we can ve vulnerable around each other.

The old lady was ok btw.

A time writing was really hard: does every time count? Let's see when I was trying to connect the dots but they didn't connect. Lowkey the idea was abandoned but I started writing a riddick/bw crossover AND au (with depthcharge and rampage). I got pretty far in writing and planning where I was gonna go but it just didn't work out grrrrrr!!

Favorite excerpt: its not done yetttttt, but i was playing around with a boondocks tfp crossover. And Riley started doing a stupid ass monologue about how these robot niggas gay. Favorite review: This one commenter has been diligently commenting on every new chapter of a fic I've been updating sparsely, and they are the sole reason I'm continuing this fic in the first place. If you think you're that person, thank you.

A time writing was really hard: Writing Crack in War Kaleidoscope was really hard as I had a time limit. I'm god's slowest writer, so I really had to work under pressure there.

A scene I wrote that surprised me: The entirety of Electrical Hazard. Every day I push the limits of what insanely stupid premises I will write and get away with.

How did I grow as a writer: Lots of ways! I worked under pressure, wrote characters I was unfamiliar with, betad for someone, collaborated with someone else, and expanded a fic into my longest-running one.

Who was my greatest positive influence: There's an irl friend that's been making me excited to write more. And of course, that one commenter keeping my will to work on a fic alive.

ARCANE AU 😭 MY POOR ARCANE AU IM SORRY 😭 it's not that i wont write it its just that its never going to be coming out in full its all gonna be in one shots because i have 0 energy. also i had this one "immortal" au i tried writing a while ago and i still like the concept just not the characters i used at the time but i dont think ill write it again

16. what are your writing strengths?

i write a lot (as in my word counts are high per fic) but i dont really consider it a strength because i don't think length equates to the quality of a fic. a fic is good even if its short or long, and i like short fics more beacuse i feel like im feeling just as much in a shorter amount of time but other people might prefer long fics. its about what you write about and how you do it, not about length. ive also been told im pretty good at integrating introspection with dialogue but idk.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

also plot. it's like the fics that have a really dense and thought-out plot are the ones i never get to finish cuz i get too intimmidated after i finish planning them. i'll always plan them out in bullet points and then even when im almost done planning them out i just give up at the last minute and then never get them done lol. maybe one day i'll finally write something. i think if the plot isn't too dense then it's better off

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i think it's cool. i don't think i've done it yet but maybe i will one day.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

percy jackson. it was a solangelo fic in first person on wattpad 💀 WAITT SCRATCH THAT. when i was in 2nd grade me & bff at the time LOVED the rainbow magic books so i think we wrote something that was similar in plot to that. that was a banger series

20. favorite fic you’ve written?

i really liked "Stay. For Once." (lost trio fic) because it was my first time writing something for the lost trio and even though looking back i might change some things i think i really loved writing about them & thinking about their dynamic. i also really liked "Stars Bursting Across His Lips" (valgrace one-shot) not because i actually like the fic itself that much but it was really fun to write cuz i think driving on a highway at night is the sexiest most erotic most romantic thing anyone can do. i dont think i have a true favorite though.

i normally just ramble in the tags about my undertale thoughts but i have been Thinking About This as im replaying ut for the millionth time... i LOVE the way ut depicts grief and guilt and relationships after a traumatic event (so tw for that kind of stuff)...... SO i keep thinking about how toriel leaves the ruins and it must be. so Weird for flowey??

most likely in all of his runs she just kind of stays in there cuz she doesnt have a reason to leave. but once frisk falls she does have a reason and apparently she leaves early enough to be able to get to new home shortly after your time in the true lab and thats so.... This Kind Of Sticks Out To Me... especially with how flowey says into the echo flower that toriels Not looking for you and she'll forget about you and replace you. of course this is flowey and he LOVES his projection

BUT!! he follows behind frisk the entire game and i wonder if he saw toriel leave the ruins and it made him SO upset... he already has a lot of issues with feeling replaced and im sure this. would Definitely mess with him..... so i keep thinking about his relationship with the characters and how frisk is managing to fix their problems.... toriel finally left the ruins and papyrus has more friends and undyne isnt so. u know and alphys is learning to forgive herself and be more confident and asgore has finally given up on the war and it seems like everything is Perfectly Fine and yet. Flowey Is Still Here

he doesn't Get a happy ending and he tried to fix everyones issues in the past but to him his parents are forgetting about him and getting a new kid and then theres papyrus... i wonder if him making a new friend makes flowey worry about being replaced in that regard too even if papyrus gives him no reasons to feel that..... but Anyway it must be super weird for this random kid to show up and to relate to them but it Definitely feels like they're your replacement..... And Then Theres Chara

i think a lot about how. chara is Barely mentioned. everything we learn about them is basically through flowey or that segment in new home but for the most part theyre very. Forgotten About?? that probably upsets flowey SO much... to wake up after The Plan and know that theyre gone and everything has changed and you and your parents are the only ones that remember them but your mom seems to just be getting New Children and your dad is trying to kill every human that falls after them.... like. Man. no wonder flowey feels so alienated from everyone its like the whole world is moving on without him

and i really like that!! i think its such a good way to depict what depression and ptsd feels like. its extremely lonely and it Really feels like. no one Gets It because everyone else just gets to move on while you have to deal with this giant event. and what?? just. continue???? the only person that could possibly Get It was the one that died. and the fact that chara is gone is definitely messing with floweys perception of them... because he believes theyre the only one who could understand they are immediately better than everyone. and that kind of loss can definitely. make things seem that way

flowey probably feels that if he allows himself to forgive himself and chara thats betrayal. its not Fair for him to be able to move on while chara never even got to live. why should he be allowed to make friends and be happy and get gifts on christmas when chara isnt here for any of it?? he already feels he betrayed them once and the fact that hes still alive probably fills him with The WORST survivors guilt......... and it makes him lash out at everyone. why should Anyone be allowed to live a happy life if chara isnt here. hes done everything he possibly can but he still cant get chara back and he feels trapped. its just not fair to him

thats probably a huge part of why he feels he lacks compassion. its not Fair for people to be happy after what happened with chara and hes just stuck repeating these thoughts over and over and over (which i think is So Cool that its like. different timelines to show that hes stuck in his mind repeating everything but he still cant get back to before he lost chara) and its probably very. cathartic for him to be able to cry and scream about how lonely he feels..... he just wants to be able to cry and to be understood. a lot of times it can feel hard to cry about something so traumatic because its hard to admit how much it hurts so i think it was So good for him to just be allowed to cry on frisks shoulder

i was probably going somewhere with this when i started this post but now im just kind of rambling...... thank u toby for flowey his grief and trauma responses are written so realistically and i think about it so much
