Ashur's whole Deal in Veilguard is extremely ripe for the sorts of identity shenanigans I love very dearly. I think Tarquin shouldn't know who he is so he can get to have a whole crisis because he's got a crush on both his day job boss (the Pope) AND his extracurricular job masked revolutionary leader (basically Batman)
Throw in a bit of religious imagery and devotion, and we are COOKING

Having the only named fat character in your show eat a ton of food face first while other skinny characters nearby all watch on in disgust is certainly. It’s certainly a choice.
A very weird, very fatphobic choice.

Getting to re-invent the elevator scene from S1 was super fun, especially with the accompaniment of Persephone; I always enjoy writing their back-and-forths, it very much plays to my own writing interests and strengths :'3 Thanks so much for reading! <3

So. So uh. Does. Does Peter ever bite Wade? How does his venom work on Wade?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peter's venom accelerates the body's processes, so mutations/powers/natural gifts work in triple-time (It's why his knockoff venom drug became such an epidemic in his old world).
What would have taken Wade 15 hours to heal now takes 5.
Bigger doses are a powerful powerful pain-killer (which is usually when the paralysis would hit but Wade burns it off by then...most of the time.)
-------
Peter finds Deadpool nearly dead in an alleyway and takes him back to his apartment. He knows what it's like to wake up confused and disoriented, and there's no reason Deadpool needs to go through that too.
Deadpool isn't confused when he wakes up in a strange bathtub. Blacking out in an alleyway and waking up in odd locations is old hat. (Really, Death and frat parties are just two sides of the same coin). What is confusing is the friendly face napping beside him.
Even stranger is the fact that it's still the same day he died. That should have been a solid 24 hours minimum. What the hell is going on?

The Ryoko Kui interview's reception is such a disaster over a pretty normal (yet still flawed) interview between a non-Japanese fan and Japanese artistic. This is discourse for discourse's sake, and it's no surprise that almost every Twitter user I've looked at who's using this interview to parade Kui around as a goated mangaka standing strong against Western ideology is anti-trans.
Like, I do think the interview was kinda wonky with its focus on fandom culture, which Kui clearly didn't have much interest in. But sometimes that happens. Sometimes interactions between two people, especially a fan and a creator, two people who view and interact with a piece of media in completely opposite perspectives, don't click. Does this really need to get blown up into a "West vs. East culture war" issue.
Anyways, Kui saying "I don't consider my audience's interpretations when writing. I leave it to their imaginations, but I have my own read on things too" is the healthiest, most normal thing an artist/writer who wants a non-parasocial audience could say. Artists and writers use this line all the time. If Kui didn't enjoy autistic Laius or Farcille headcanons, she would have probably voiced/signalled her discomfort, like she did on the topic of Senshi fanservice. Overall, Kui handled the interview really well. Props to her to sticking to her guns and keeping a healthy disconnect from the fandom. While I think the interviewer could've/should've been more tactful and restrained, the flaws in their questions is not a symptom of the woke mind virus trying to wriggle its way into the pure Japanese psyche. It's the sign of an over-eager fan who sees a piece of fiction differently than its creator.

While I obviously adored every single big Dorian moment last episode, I truly appreciate all these small details about him that were revealed.
Dorian humming to himself when he gets nervous and blanking in big crowds. Dorian locking up at physical affection when he is not initiating it. Dorian's voice dropping when talking to his dad/authority figures.
Small sprinkles of character traits I can't get enough of.

I think Brennan did something interesting with the Porter and Gorgug scene in the last episode. Porter is by all appearances a competent Barbarian teacher. He understands the role of Rage and its mechanical combat benefits, and he even recognizes how Gorgug uses Rage to protect those he cares about. But he doesn't understand how multiclassing into a caster fits into that framework.
And it's true! In 5e you can't cast or concentrate on spells in a Rage. But-- Artificers work a little different than other casters! Alchemist Elixirs and Arcane Cannons aren't technically spells. Arcane Armor just works. And so does the Steel Defender.
Of any caster I think the Artificer is probably the best-suited to multiclass Barbarian because their key subclass features are largely not spells. But it also runs into the problem of requiring multiple high stats. Barbarians already want high STR and CON, and Artificers need INT for their spells and spell saves.
And so there's this narrative tension here. Brennan the DM obviously wants to let his player have fun with the character build-- embracing the creative artificer side of himself is a great character moment for Gorgug, bearer of the tin flower. Someone who has always channeled Rage to protect those he cares about but who has also been called to create and preserve beauty.
And yet mechanically, it's a difficult build. We didn't see Gorgug cast anything in the Night Yorb battle, as far as I recall? And in-universe, classes are a formally recognized thing that require approval. But Gorgug can't be the kind of Barbarian that Porter wants him to be. So he has to show that he can be a different kind of Barbarian-- one whose magic integrates and synergizes with his Rage rather than opposing it.
We see Gorgug still insecure about his homunculus and about the solar lasso, even though these are objectively impressive feats. So it's not a skill issue but an internal conflict-- it's only once Gorgug reconciles and synthesizes his magic with his Barbarian side that the in-world powers that be will recognize him for all of who he is.

Rashinna of the Golden Hammer
aka Leader of the Volition and overall badass. I was a little more organized than usual when putting this together and decided to try a couple stills with some outfit layers below.
@revvethasmythh come get your girl :)
Tumblr media
Some further details under the cut:
Would she probably wear a better cloth layer underneath the breastplate and pauldron? Yes, but sometimes a girl's gotta show off her tats. Her armor was inspired by the official WizKids depictions.
Her arm tattoos are: a rock formation silhouette on her collarbone, a stylized Ruidus on her deltoid, the sun below and Catha in between; a small Exandria is on the reverse side out of sight, stylized dust clouds and dust-devils, and an old map for a tunnel system from her childhood which has long since collapsed. We can pretend this is the sketch she gave the tattoo artist lol:
