nvm this is still on my brain. kim does not like to watch harry suffer… to say that kim takes satisfaction in harry’s pain is a huge misconstruing of his character.

the “getting thrashed like a schoolboy” line comes from a board game, lol. it’s a tease, not a cruelty. there’s never any line that implies that Kim enjoys seeing Harry taking actual morale damage.

he can be amused if you fail a check, but the check is always relatively inconsequential, and again, Harry isn’t taking damage in these.

anyways. kim is a foil to every other cop we meet in the game specifically because he doesn’t view harry as a punching bag or a lost cause. gottlieb does nothing but sling jabs and glib jokes about harry’s health. torson+mclaine and the others laugh at harry’s panic attack over the radio. in response to harry’s suicide-by-car attempt(!!!!) jean yells about RCM budget. all kim’s lines in response to harry’s check failures and health-damage are consistent, explicit textual contrast against the callousness of the rest of the RCM. twisting kim’s character here requires a bad faith interpretation of the whole game.

Thinking about the fact that the reason why Crowley changes styles so much, as opposed to Aziraphale, is because he loves everything humans do. He is so full of love that every new thing excites him. And while Aziraphale might perceive that as his nature being fickle, that he can move on faster, it is anything but that. Crowley is so devoted to humanity that she tries to blend in with every era shes in, to find love in every new thing humanity has to offer her. Crowley doesnt love too little; she loves in abundance in a world that has rarely ever loved her back the same way.

Piggybacking off this post I made last night, but I think two things can be true at once:

Being diagnosed or undiagnosed can both be disadvantages. Neither a state of diagnosis nor undiagnosis can be more "beneficial" because both can be harmful dependent on the situation. We need to be open to the possibility that a diagnosis can be helpful, harmful, a mix, or neither, and not having a diagnosis can also be helpful, harmful, a mix, or neither.

Basically, disability is complex. We live in an ableist world that simultaneously demands disabled people adhere to strict standards but also just not exist in the first place. It's hard enough to navigate diagnosis, and making it harder is only going to harm us, not abled people. They don't care about the intricacies of disability, more often than not.

Ngl i feel like using cis-IDs when one has transitioned sort of creates a divide 8etween transids and cisids and m8kes it seem like you're only REALLY your ids if you pass as them. Using "cis" for transitioned transids puts cisids on a pedestal in a w8y, 8ecause a lot of people want to transition. I think those who've transitioned in their transids should have more pride for calling themselves trans. No one is any less "really their ids" for 8eing trans and i feel like using the term "cis" for those who have transitioned or pass as cis perpetu8s the opposite.
