Being Married To Ivar Would Include...

-Ivar being really protective over you in every single way possible. He would fight anyone who tries to mess with you or try and take you away from him.

-Him wanting to make sure that you are safe no matter what and always has someone go with you in the village does not matter if it is him or some other warrior going with you.

-During feasts he always has you sit with him. He does not want you to feel alone or have to sit with another man. So, he just wants you to sit with him.

-When you both are in bed, he loves to cuddle with you and be with you all throughout the night. Sometimes, he lets you cuddle him from behind but his most favorite is when he is laying down on his back and then you just lay your head on his chest.

-You both always having fun no matter what is going on. Everyone always notices that you both are always smiling around each other and making each other laugh at any time possible.

-Him always being super gentle with you. He is always gentle touching you. He always makes sure that when he hugs you or even when you both cuddle that he is being gentle and soft with you.

・When the sound of hooves approached, you opened the cottage door and gave the lone man a warm damp cloth to freshen himself up and when he followed you inside, he saw that there was a feast waiting.

"We thought you would be hungry," your mother called. Her braided hair a tad messy from all the flittering about she'd been doing for hours. Trying to make your home as inviting as possible.

"Oh, thank you," Bjorn said with a genuine smile and wiped the snow from his clothes.

・Your mind made life both amazing, and horrid. You could be five steps ahead of everyone else, but then they all look like you're out of your mind.

・Bjorn ate with you and your family, getting to know them with grace and diplomacy.

・This was to be your last family dinner for a long long while. Your mother, and younger sisters had lit every candle in the house, arranging them specifically to honour the gods.

・There were even offerings that you and your father had brought in this morning. And you had seen two black ravens following you the whole while.

・The blood from the rabbit sat in a bowl on the altar. Each of the family had been blessed, by you. They had given you the honours of blessing the household as well. Leaving your mark on the home.

・Bjorn sat opposite you, a fingerprint of blood on his forehead. He was exactly as you had envisioned.

'Handsome' you thought, and then came the thoughts that were not your own, 'tough, adventurous, wants to explore.'

・It was one of the things that you were gifted with... You had only been around him for less than 30 minutes and you knew what type of man Bjorn was already.

・It's why many of the townsfolk don't like you.

・Even though they come to you for help, they want to be told certain things. But you hate to lie. And if these people wanted the truth - that's exactly what you gave them.

"So, Bjorn, have you received any word from your father?" Your own father asked, one of his large hands clutched around the wooden spoon.

"Ah well, here and there," he replied in his low gruff voice.

"I have always loved the stories about your father. Ragnar will be remembered throughout history!" You cringed at the obvious love your father had for Ragnar...

・After dinner, your parents kissed you, with tears in their eyes and your younger sister squeezed you tight.

"I'll see you again soon," you mumbled into her hair as you leaned down, hugging her back.

"You promise?" She said, looking up at you with wide eyes.

"Yes, I have already seen it." Well, you could stomach to lie to those you care about.

Their relationship during the viking age was mostly very amicable, apart from a few minor fights and arguments later on. In contrast to England and Denmark, Norway and Scotland mostly co-existed peacefully beside each other and even developed a friendship. Norway has always been a traveller and would rarely stay in one place for long, but he would often spend his summers and occaionally autumns in his territories close to Scotland before moving along on his next adventure. During these months Norway and Scotland would hang out and Norway would tell Scotland stories about all his adventures out on the sea, exploring westward, as a hired soldier for the Byzantine emperor, helping out Denmark with his wars agaisnt England, and joining Sweden on his trips east. Scotland would think these were the coolest stories and always look forward to Norway's occasional visits. And sometimes Norway would even bring him exotic gifts he'd picked up on his travels.

The Olympic chocolate muffin saga is the best part about the Olympics. I think the funniest thing is the videos of the other athletes being like "no muffins left the Norwegian swimmer ate them all." Now I can't stop thinking about Norway hogging all the muffins from the Nordics. The moment he gets his hands on any chocolate dessert, there's no going back, and they will have to stage an intervention to stop his outrageous muffin consumption.

Ivar Having A Crush On You Would Include...

Ivar having a crush on you would be so obvious to everyone. Everyone would always bring it up to him and make fun of him for having this crush on you because they thought that he would never be able to pull you. He would always fantasize about you and the things that you both could do together. He would always get really nervous around you and try and talk to you but could never make a full conversation with you because he is so nervous around you. He eventually gets over this and starts to make conversations longer with you and even gives you gifts quite often.

HAVE YOU PERCHANCE ever considered drawing den with curly hair?!???… because because since he has hella messy hair in the canon material and is implied to just be waking up like that, i can’t really imagine him having straight hair…(ik you draw him wavy already, but let me explain!) i kinda hc that he has dense curls and its just that hima has no idea how to draw it. i mean think about it: not one character has ever been seen with curls. seychelles has straight hair, cameroon has a buzzcut, cuba has dreads(i think…) etc. so i say… everyones a bit wavier than what we see! i also think belgium has ringlets and greece is also super curly and stuff like that! also curly denmark would look kinda like michael bundesen(the danish singer ever, but no im nowhere near danish lol) and that is so special to me…

Honestly, anon, that sounds charming (the ringlets omg). I love it when people experiment with characters' hair textures!! Hair is one of the many fields I should get better at, something I should practice more, it's all a bit same-old in my art

Nordic 5 body language headcanons

Iceland is a huuuge sloucher, despite his brother's complaints. His upper body leans sideways very subtly, as well, but this is because he has scoliosis. By default, Emil always has one hand on his hip or the small of his back: this boy is the king of back pain. He's pigeon-toed and walks at an average pace.

He slouches even more when he sits, often crossing his ankles. Unless he's occupied with something, he keeps his hands folded in his lap. Emil generally sits really politely; bro is just there. He tends to avoid eye contact, as it makes him uncomfortable, but can tolerate it in formal/serious settings.

When bored or anxious, he'll tap his fingers together. He'll also drum his fingers against a flat surface, but very quietly. What a guy.

Norway stands straight and elegant, one foot in front of the other, his shoulders back but not enough to be cocky. A firm believer in good posture, he's not afraid to correct the other Nordics when the need arises. He'll keep his arms crossed or his hands on his hips, and he treads lightly but quickly.

Sitting down, Lukas will cross his legs, usually resting his ankle on his other knee. Bro can actually sit pretty still with his hands folded neatly on his crossed knee, not moving a muscle. Though he's not the biggest fan of eye contact, he'll use it to get his point across or when he's being serious. Sometimes, he stares without really realizing it.

It's rare for Lukas to fidget. When he does, though, it's more-often-than-not a brisk foot tap. Mathias thinks it's eerie how still he can be.

Denmark stands with his head held high, his shoulders thrown back, and his arms crossed over his chest, though he does have the tendency to slouch when he's tired. He walks a bit faster than average with a swagger in his step, but he's able to stop very abruptly in his tracks, an actual menace to anyone walking behind him.

When sitting down, Mathias is a compulsory man-spreader and leg bouncer. He'll also rest his arms on the back of the seat, if possible. He loves to take up as much space as he can. He's not afraid of eye contact whatsoever, which can be rather terrifying paired with his blue eyes. Please, God, someone get this man some brown contacts.

Mathias also has a bad habit of drumming rather loudly on flat surfaces, much to the annoyance of his fellow nations. Be patient with him, doctors have yet to find ADHD meds that will actually work for him.

Sweden, like Lukas, stands very straight, but will slouch when he needs to accommodate for his height. He either walks very slowly or is near-impossible to keep up with: there's no in-between. He's duck-footed and has a heavy tread.

Berwald is also a man-spreader, though he knows how to stay in his own bubble. As a larger man, he's highly conscious about the space he takes up and tends to be more conservative with it. He usually rests his hands on his knees when he sits. Eye contact isn't very complicated with Ber; if he's talking to you, he's making eye contact. If he's not, he isn't.

If there is space available, Berwald will pace back and forth when tense or thinking. If he can't, he'll resort to less active stims, such as knuckle cracking.

Finland stands with a slouch, too, though it isn't as nearly as pronounced as Emil's. When walking, his pace depends on who he's with; if he's on his own, however, he takes his time, often stopping to stretch. Tino is surprisingly heavy-footed for someone of his stature.

He sits slightly forward with his legs crossed, his hands folded primly on either the table or his knee. In more informal settings, Tino may even tuck his feet under his body. If he's sitting beside Berwald, he'll lean affectionately against him. He uses eye contact when needed, his gaze being the least overwhelming of the Nordics. He's very reassuring to be around.

When nervous, Tino clears his throat a lot. He also stims by bouncing his leg and fiddling with his clothes.

anyway my thoughts are spiraling all bc of a single post by @chayssakharom, and now I can't stop thinking about a Nordics road trip especially a last min "we missed our flight/train and don't have time to wait for the next one" road trip.

Idk what the reputation is for Finnish drivers but I think Finland would drive, he has to bc if he's unoccupied for too long he'll go insane. Norway sits shotgun bc he called it and also if you put him in the back between Denmark and Sweden there will be murder. Denmark sits in the backseat behind Norway, because Sweden has to sit behind Finland because Fin is the shortest and can push his seat up more than Nor, and Sve is a fucking giant. Iceland is in the back seat between them because if Denmark and Sweden don't have someone in between them they will fight the whole time, with Iceland there they'll only fight 80% of the time.

likes to rest his chin on his partner's shoulder to look at whatever they are doing on their phone/what they are reading in a magazine or book. if his partner is taller than him and standing up, he will give a hug from behind.

he will offer his partner an earbud/airpod so they can listen to music together (he's putting on björk there's no question about it)

he likes seeing his partner slowly befriend his pet puffin, he's happy to see the two get along

if he is going a little stir crazy at home but doesn't exactly want to go out where there will be crowds, he'll ask if his partner wants to go hike a small trail with him

he likes to hold his partners hand A LOT. whether it be walking together while they are all alone, or even when they are just relaxing on the sofa...he wants to hold their hand (and do the thumb rub thing) (he's touch starved a bit, yes)

finds it relaxing to listen to his partner hum if they like to hum a lot, or if they use it as a vocal stim

if his partner likes coffee in the morning, he's got them covered. the scent of coffee is usually the first thing his partner smells in the morning

prefers to sleep on cold sheets, when his partner comes in to have a "sleepover", he'll find it amusing how easily they get cold. not to worry though, he doesn't mind cuddling them so they can stop shivering (for both their sakes lol)

much like his younger brother, he likes to rest his chin or cheek on his partner's shoulder. he likes this because he is able to breathe in whatever scent his partner smells like

he's a noticer, he notices when his partner looks tired, so he'll tell them to take a break/nap. if they look sick, he'll make some warm soup. if they are shivering again because of the cold, scandinavian winter outside, hot cocoa will be made instantly for them. he would rather do things instead of talk about them, especially since he can read expressions and body language well.
