I have found the best ally
Straight and cis people will say that they are allies, but you will NEVER measure up to my dentist.
Me: "Hey, is it ok if I can change my name on my info from [DEADNAME] to Aspen?"
Random woman that I wasn't even talking to in the chair next to me: "Honey, if that's the name you had at birth, [DEADNAME] is your only name."
My dentist, very slowly turning her rolley chair towards the woman: "Shush."
Random woman: "Excuse me?"
Destist: *closes privacy curtain while staring bullets at the lady*
Me: *pissing myself laughing*
My dentist while changing my name in my info (reminder that English is not her first language, she immigrated from Russia): "There, Sai, you have pretty boy teeth. Smile and make all girls swoon."
Me not having the heart to tell her I'm not transmasc but I'm Agender, and still pissing myself laughing: "Thank you [DENTIST NAME]."
Edit: Ok, this has gotten alot of attention, but right now my other posts is what really needs attention. I have a few fundraisers for people trying to evacuate Palestine and Gaza, but also a diabetic who needs her insulin shot. Please please please, go to my page and at the very least repost those posts, have the day you deserve and free Palestine🇵🇸

i think most people accept the idea of "you don't control who you're attracted to" in terms of being gay but imo it can go further. like if you're not attracted to men, but you happen to find a transmasc person attractive, i dont think thats inherently transphobic if you acknoweldge that your attraction is incongruent with their identity. you dont need to run yourself in circles creating qualifiers for your sexuality when we live in a world of infinite gender identites. it's not like you have an inbuilt radar that tells you whether that hot stranger at the bar is a woman or not. man who kissed a twink that turned out to be a butch lesbian that thought he was a butch lesbian. etc.

And of course,

NOTE: this is NOT about sharing your pronouns with colleagues/fellow students/professors etc. in general, it's about those introductory circles where everyone introduces themselves.
*trans includes nonbinary, agender, and other gender non conforming identities including autigender for the purpose of this poll.
no nuance button, but feel free to say your thoughts in the comments/tags or so i can make a better poll if necessary

Pinned "About Us":
Hello, Tumblr! Let's Say Gay is a non-profit, online literary journal run by LGBTQ+ people for LGBTQ+ youth! Our hope in creating this publication is to carve out space for LGTBQ+ youth and combat the isolation being imposed on queer artists. Let’s Say Gay is a safe place to tell and read stories, share art, and honor our identities. We are facing a dark, but hardly unprecedented time. With each new wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation passed since the inception of Florida House Bill 1557, non-heteronormative children and their families are further decentered, and face more frightening and isolating lives. This publication is being designed for the entire generation of young people being systematically silenced by discriminatory laws. We know the uncertainty you face and the fear that now taints a time of self-discovery and growth, but you aren’t alone. We are launching this journal as a reminder that our community is alive and thriving and that no matter how many of our stories are stripped from shelves, or how many young people are forbidden to speak about themselves, we will continue to be.  This journal's staff seek to give youths a voice in this time of forced silence. Our identities— how we see and define ourselves and who we choose to love— are ours alone. No one has the right to silence, degrade, or invalidate the existence of another person. Our stories, and thus our presence in the country’s narrative, are under attack. If schools are going to be forced into narrow-minded discriminatory regulations, then we will resist. We will continue to create spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. Let’s Say Gay is a place where young artists can tell their stories. A place where we all can, and will, say gay. Or maybe even shout it! This journal is structured for LGBTQ+ youths aged 13–18 years-old. All applicants hold the right to remain anonymous, and don't have to sign their work or pay to apply. (Though feel free to use a pseudonym!) To do so, email [email protected] following our submission guidelines. These can be found on a separate pinned post and our website, lsglitjournal.com.

I just finished reading a post which involved a perisex person trying to tell several intersex people that their experiences weren't real, because there wasn't proof.
So, because of this, fellow perisex people, stay in your fucking lane. If you don't deal with intersex experiences first hand, you DO NOT have the right to tell intersex people what is an experience or not. That is NOT your place.
It's DISGUSTING how it's so normalized to speak over intersex experiences, because perisex people don't experience them. Do you realize YOU are repeating the same exact CYCLE perisex cis people have done to trans people for millennia?
"Oh I just don't see it, it must not be real," or "I don't experience this, so it's not real", actually fuck you. Seriously.
INTERSEX PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE HEARD AND RESPECTED. IT'S NOT FUCKING ROCKET SCIENCE.

One reason you might not be very "good" about a trans loved one's pronouns or the language you use for them might stem from memorizing what they want, rather than actually changing how you view them.
For instance, my trans friend came out rather late compared to me. However, since internalizing that I wasn't really correct about who she is, because she's a woman and I didn't know that, it was instantaneous to refer to her by her name, to use language that accurately reflects her instead of what I thought she was.
When you actually internalize that a loved one is actually this way instead of what you thought, it makes it so much easier to truly and actually change your perspective on them.
In short, are you memorizing who they are, or are you actually learning who they are?

Give your local queer a hug today.
No reason why, they just probably (definitely) need it.
