thinking about. maybe an au or something where dream just has a little bit of a sadistic streak in him (NOT SEXUAL). like i think it would be so interesting if he took just a little bit of delight in feeling someone else’s negative emotions, because of him. like taking control back for himself, defying the role of guardian forced upon him by things outside his control.

and maybe he feels awful about it. like i like to imagine him being just a little bit intimidating sometimes, and feeling everyone’s anxiety and taking joy in it for a second before catching himself and suddenly being crushed with guilt at the thought of breaking the rules, even indirectly, by causing negativity instead of warding it off.

His own gaze turns down towards the belt that is on trial, hands resting just beneath it.  “  Not that this one is bad but it’s not quite what I’d hoped for.  “  But it was always good to have multiple just in case something happened. So he wasn’t going to complain about it. He’d merely kept an eye out for something that was more of interest to him.

   His eyes lift back to Soma’s face only to drop to the box that is being extended to him. Surprise and curiosity flare in equal measure as he gently takes the spontaneous offering. It doesn’t take a genius to make the connection between the inquiry and what likely rests inside the box. But it still draws a small smile even without looking inside it. Maybe it’s silly, but the act of being offered something was enough in itself to touch the bushi.

   The doctor opens the box with the same care and grace that he’d accepted it with, eyes immediately focusing on the belt that rests inside it. He draws in a small breath, pupils dilated with interest as he runs his fingers over the pattern of it with a light touch, feeling it between his fingertips. He’s not oblivious to the similarities of pattern. But this one is toned down in a way to compliment Seiroku’s style. A sharp punch of color otherwise would have meant eyes would only be drawn to his waist. To think Soma would offer something so close to his own style to him. It stuns him while simultaneously makes his chest warm. It also renders him temporarily speechless as he came to the realization of it. Soma had a funny knack for doing that. 

   “  Thank you, Soma.  “  He pulls the belt from its resting place inside the box to truly appreciate it. It’s true that Seiroku wouldn’t have gone for it himself - he is not so arrogant as to pull off a stunt like trying to have a pattern similar. But this was a gift. An offering for the doctor to done something that ties him in not to the clan, but with its captain.  It can’t be just any belt, that much is obvious. “  It really is beautiful.  “

    His eyes lift from the belt towards Soma and brighten with a thought. Seiroku lifts his hands, unclasping the golden swords that always accompany him from the previous belt. It’s only his outer robe after all. The temporary belt is pulled away to be replaced by the new one without hesitation. He takes a moment to admire it himself before looking towards Soma, promptly giving a graceful spin to show it off on all sides. Soma had gifted it - shouldn’t he naturally be the first to see it and give his verdict?

   “  So?  What do you think?  “  He inquires, black hair cascading to the side when he glances towards the leader with a smile. Perhaps if he’d had a more docile personality it would be too much. But Seiroku is not a meek and docile sort of person - he wears it with confidence.  “  I personally love it.  “

It's really wild to see it in action, isn't it? When a dad manipulates (Po3 book 2) and smacks his son (Po3 book 3) for absolutely no benefit besides his own ego, it's "mental illness" and ergo not a big deal. As if they think mental illness is a get-out-of-jail free card for child abuse.

The "Crowfeather Mental Illness" Crowd couldn't HANDLE the kind of mentally ill characters that I stan. They are weak and will not survive the winter.

When they say "stop being mean to boys with a disorder" they mean "stop holding an abusive father accountable for teaching his son slurs so he could get back at the ex-girlfriend who dumped him." If you ship Alphinaud or Alisaie with any of the adults they met while they were children, you are not welcome here. I don't care if they're adults in your fics or whatever, they were children when they met them and that is still fucking weird.

Even if you say ARR took a year, Alphinaud would have still only been 17 when he met Estinien. Estinien is 32. That is fucking weird. Shipping a grown man with a boy 16/15 years younger than him that he met when said boy was 16/17?

I will not "argue" about this with anyone because there is nothing to argue about. If you ship that kind of stuff, just leave, I want nothing to do with you.

Hey so... important thingy real quick pertaining to sharing f/os.

I get it- sharing f/os can be hard for some folks. Whether you get self conscious, jealous, nervous abt it, etc etc. I totally understand- I can open up here and admit that I get really self conscious and a little nervous when I see people who ship with the f/os I am uncomfortable sharing or have selective sharing with. However, that's a normal thing to feel, and you shouldn't feel bad about it at all! It's okay to be sad, or anxious, or jealous, or anything else along those lines. That's why we block and move on, and try not to let those negative feelings hurt us too heavily.

That being said, when it becomes NOT okay, is when you're posting on any of your blogs about wanting people who ship with your f/os dead. Or posting about wanting to cause bodily harm to other self-shippers. Oooor posting about said f/o harming other shippers. Or anything under that umbrella.

Seriously. I feel like it's already pretty obvious that you should never do that in the first place, but those who don't care and want to actively participate in said behavior should just stay in their own damn circle- away from the people who aren't harming anyone; who are just shipping and minding their own business.

We absolutely do not need those kinds of people running around and literally wishing death on folks, whether they think they're being sneaky about it or not. Nobody deserves to die for the 'crime' of loving the same character as someone else.
