u ever think about how andrew has never been alone? going from group homes, to foster families, to juvie. to tilda and aaron, to nicky and aaron, to palmetto with kevin and neil. his deal with kevin means he, too, essentially has the raven partner system introduced to him up until kevin enrolls in the university and starts classes. and then neil too - jean says in tsc they’re never out of each others orbits for long. he’s never been alone, even when he has been; there’s always been people there talking to each other, filling the air, to the point where he has to break on to the roof for a few minutes piece and quiet. and even then, when neil joins palmetto, he starts joining andrew on the roof (even if they sit in silence he’s still not alone). makes me wonder how he’d react to graduating and having a place to himself for the first time. would it be a relief or would the silence set him on edge?

I can’t call it a work because no work was done and I can’t call it fanfic because how much of a fan could you possibly be if you don’t write it yourself!? “I wanted to see a happier ending to the movie.” There are hundreds of stories you could have picked from that a real person actually created because they care about the characters. They are all infinitely better than anything a computer could have produced because they actually have a human connection and people who actually are capable of liking the movie and the characters. That tag is my happy place and it is tainted by that monstrosity. Normally I would be incredibly annoyed no matter the fandom, but for Dead Poets Society?! Really?! The movie about how art is tied with humanity?! Did you watch the movie?! Every single character would be disgusted by the use of ai to produce art. Art doesn’t exist without humanity and some cheep to imitation is an insult to anyone that actually works to make art.

So you know how Aziraphale picks up Shosti 5 from Maggie and is listening to the 4th movement in his bookshop? Little known fun fact, if you go to 2:07 and 2:33 in the Bernstein NY Phil recording (helpfully on the official GOs2 Spotify playlist) you’ll hear this soaring, haunting theme, and DID YOU KNOW that this very same exact theme is quoted by James Horner in the soundtrack to the movie Troy (specifically in the track “Achilles leads the Myrmidons” at 4:00) and ever since I heard that during my Greek Tragedy phase in high school, THAT theme has been THE tragic gay love theme (I mean Achilles “My dear comrade’s dead - Patroclus - the man I loved beyond all other comrades, loved as my own life - I’ve lost him”) and I just find it so ineffable that Aziraphale is listening to this exact theme, pining for his demon and planning romantic balls, all for the tragedy of it to be foreshadowed by music twice removed from its original context. Obviously unintentional but still rather delightful for me.
