-Slams DPxDC door open and tosses AU idea on table-

Tim's parents send home an artifact that is said to able to grant wishes! While being curious about it Tim messes with the artifact and when he 'solves' it, according to legend one must solve it to get a wish, he wishes he wasn't alone anymore.

The object glows bright and as he shields his eyes he can hear.

'So you have wished it, so it shall be!'

He gets his wish in the form of a recently reincarnated ghost!King (who entered the DC world for a reincarnated vaycay... he should had known something was going to happen because CW was encouraging the break) Danny whose just a baby/toddler right now.

Basically, big brother Tim and baby Danny adventures in Gotham after that.

The Return of the Speedster

Years had passed since Wally's death. Years since the Young Justice team had split up because of it, none of them could move on, as much as they liked to pretend about it, Nightwing was the one who had taken it the worst.

While the years passed on the hero's dimension, Danny was exploring Clockwork's haunt in the Infinite Realms, something that took him a long time as his mentor was hard to convince; while he was at it he found something strange. Clocky had told him it was the "Speedforce" although the halfa had no idea what that meant. He frowned wanting to explore it but his mentor stopped him every time, telling him it wasn't safe.

Unfortunately that wasn't enough to stop the teenager, who slipped into the crack in time. Danny was quite lucky, as the watch that had merged with him long ago from the "Dark Dan" incident had left him somewhat immune to the effects the site had, not that he knew it.

When he stepped inside, all he saw was an incomprehensible place. Since he wasn't seeing something interesting he was about to leave when he noticed a boy in a weird suit running. He raised an eyebrow in confusion, didn't Clocky tell him the place was off limits?

The boy noticed him too and explained in panic that the place was dangerous and could kill him. To which Danny rolled his eyes.

"I don't think you can kill something dead" he scoffed showing his ghostly tail. The boy didn't take that revelation very well, as he started muttering about being dead and in the afterlife. Danny, seeing that the boy had gotten distracted and stopped running, pulled him out of the place and guided him towards Clockwork's haunt. He had to ask his mentor about the weird kid and the best way was well, kidnap him from the strange place.

Both ghosts watched the speedster (Wally?) continue to mumble about having passed into the afterlife while having an existential crisis on the couch. Danny was tempted to tell him he was alive and everything was a misunderstanding but he had to get information first. And maybe get him back home if it was all a mistake.

like your brothers, you didn't live at home anymore. in fact, you didn't follow in luke or quinns footsteps. university of michigan was not your school, university of tennessee was. you moved down there with a full-ride scholarship for softball. down in tennessee, that's where you met a boy.

this boy's name is grayson, and unlike you, he didn't actually attend your college. you met him at one of your games. his sister was on your team, and you had accidentally run into him when you were on your way out of the stadium. he had a nice southern accent, and was raised to always treat a lady right, at least that's what his mama told you.

now, after a few months of dating, and meeting his family; it was time to meet yours.

"they don't have a thing against us southerners, right?" grayson asked, clearly nervous to meet your parents, even more nervous about your brothers.

"calm down, gray. they're gonna love you." you spoke softly.

you took one hand off the wheel and grabbed his hand in yours, lacing your hands together. he let out a breath before bringing up your twined hands and kissing the back of yours.

"you promise?" he asked, his free hand resting on the door with the window down. his hand gripped the top of the door loosely.

"promise, gray. my parents already like you from the stuff ive told them." you told, turning down your road.

his grip on your hand got a tad tighter. "i think i'm more nervous about your brothers." he confessed.

you sucked in a breath through your teeth, your grip tightening on his hand now instead. "id love to reassure you, gray, but they can be such overprotective dicks." you admitted.

grayson nodded, clearly nervous. his nerves just flared up more as you pulled into your lake house driveway. hesitantly, he removed his hand from yours and got out of the car as you put it into park. your parents were already walking over, your brothers on the porch. grayson walked to your side of the car and opened the door for you.

smiling, you turned the car off and grabbed his hand, getting out with his help. you turned to your parents who were just a few feet away from you, grayson shut your door for you.

"hi mom- dad" you smiled, pulling them both into a hug. ellen laughed slightly as jim just smiled.

"god sweetie, we missed you so much. its so weird knowing you're down in tennessee." ellen told.

footsteps approached, many of them at a time. your brothers came behind your parents. "weird to be in tennessee, but its fun."

you removed yourself from your parents before being swept off your feet by your closest brother, luke. endless hugs came from your brothers before they all finally left you alone so you could introduce the boy you brought home.

"grayson, these are my parents: ellen and jim." you pointed to them. "and those are my brothers: quinn, jack and luke." you told.

"everyone, this is my boyfriend, grayson."

your parents were overjoyed, welcoming the boy with open arms. your older brothers though, weren't as welcoming. as soon as the word 'boyfriend' left your lips, they all looked at each other. quinns arms crossed, jacks eyes narrowed ever so slightly, and luke just stared.

you noticed their behaviors and how uncomfortable grayson felt under their gazes. you sighed and grabbed graysons hand. "we'll be unpacking for a bit."

quinn didn't like grayson, or he tried not to, just like his brothers. who does this... cowboy think he is? thinks he has a chance with his little sister? the girl who plans on moving to a big city, becoming journalist. he would only drag her down.

though, unlike jack or luke, quinn noticed the way the boy looked at his sister. grayson looked at you as if you hung the moon. like you were the reason he was alive, breathing, why his heart was beating. sure, he knew the look of love all too well due to his parents.

but this look, this was more. all of graysons love poured out through his looks. he loved to look at you. it made quinn loosen up a bit.

jack definitely didn't like grayson. the way he dressed, jeans and timberlands. who does that in this weather? the cowboy hat must've been way too big for his head too, it kept falling in front of his eyes.

the way he talked. he knew his parents were comfortable with grayson due to calls before, but how was he allowed to already call them 'ma and pa?' or when he spoke to the boys, his accent was almost forced away, but with you his southern drawl was at its peak.

the way he walked. god, did your boyfriend not learn how to properly walk when he was younger? okay, maybe jack was being a bit too harsh. but this was his little sister we're talking about. he had to make sure she only got the best.

but like quinn, he noticed something. it wasn't the looks quinn noticed, but it was they way he talked to you, and about you. when grayson talked to you, his voice was always soft, never raising even when in a playful mood. he also seemed to do his best to not swear in front of you, even when the word 'fuck' was said in about every five sentences that came out of your mouth.

and the way the boy talked about you? you may have well been an angel in his eyes. he always brought you up, even if you had no relation to the topic. grayson made sure you somehow related to it.

but that didn't mean jack liked him.

luke disliked him... moderately. his main reason for disliking him was because he was scared the boy would take you away. growing up, you and luke were the closest due to being a year apart from each other. the smaller age gap between you two compared to the others gave you guys a strong bond.

luke called often. before, during, after games, practices, sometimes even parties. every now and then he loved to call you his twin, even if it wasn't true. no one would really be able to tell.

but like the other two brothers, he disliked grayson whilst noticing one thing the others didn't: how he touched you.

now, luke didn't want to think about any weirdo guy even poking you. but he saw how grayson was with you. the southern boy was gentle. his touches were feather like when in front of your family.

graysons hands never traveled lower than your hips, and even then, he did his best to be polite and make sure you were comfortable. if you two were on the couch together, his arm around you would rest on your shoulder. his thumb would gently rub your skin back and forth. grayson was just polite.

the brothers couldn't pick him apart. oh, how they wanted to hate him, but he treated you so well. and all the individual things they noticed he did? you did them as well, and collectively they saw that.

the three boys realized how much grayson meant to you, how much you meant to him. you two were good for one another, and instead of trying to force you two apart, they made sure no one could come between you.

Just realized that Werepapas might coincidentally shed some light on Felix and Adrien's relationship? Or explain it better?

The first time Felix was ever mentioned was on Adrien's official Instagram; he posted a picture of the Couffaine twins with the caption that they reminded him of himself and his cousin. But then their old dynamic is never really addressed in the show, and a lot of people wondered how exactly Felix was different from Chloe's role as Adrien's childhood friend.

The Werepapas flashbacks paint a picture of a household that was only half full, most of the time. It was just Emilie and Adrien. So like... I could totally see Emilie trying to fill that void with the only other family she has. Amelie and Felix were probably coming over all the time, because they were alone too. She might have wanted Adrien to firmly have that same sense of never being alone that she's always had by virtue of being a twin. I think Felix and Adrien were consequentially raised more as siblings than as cousins. Chloe is the (honorary) cousin here.

YES I think Emilie’s memories of growing up with a twin might even have been one of the reasons she wanted to “help” Amelie conceive! It was the only way she found to give Adrien a younger sibling… Emilie probably also suspected or outright knew something was wrong in the Fathoms’ marriage, and having Amelie and Felix come over was the best way to get them out of danger, at least for a little while.

From a doylist perspective, I really think making Adrien and Felix cousins was a way to give Adrien a quasi sibling while avoiding the obvious plot issues that would come with Another Guy (especially This Guy) being in the same house as Chat Noir and Monarch 24/7. It’s clear these two love each other so much — I like to say Adrien wants their bond to go back to what it was when they were kids, while Felix is trying to build it into something new and stronger and brighter, free of the horrors they experienced back then. And doing everything wrong, of course.

I love the idea that Sabo and Ace commonly call Luffy a brat. But not in a mean way just annoyed. Because it’s always Luffy’s way or the highway. He has to get what he wants or he’ll whine whine whine. Well at least that’s how it feels when they are the ones making sure every animal in the forest doesn’t kill him. And Luffy does not care at all about the name he probably doesn’t even know what it means, that or he’s just been called it so much it means nothing to him.

but when Sabo returned home and met Stelly, a real brat. He got a taste of just how much of an amazing and compassionate kid Luffy really is. A brat doesn’t run to you excited to show you the bug he found. Or gives you part of their blanket so you’re extra warm. A brat doesn’t want to hear stories by candle light and wants to hug you every second of the day. Luffy is an amazingly kind person. And Stelly will never be that and the fact his family wanted him to felt wrong. No one will be his little brother besides the brat who would demand to fight him every damn day.

Tails getting separation anxiety after Sonic Forces (beacuse what the hell do you mean his big brother that he thought DIED because of him was actually being held prisoner and tortured for six months in which he couldn’t do anything to help him because he didn’t know) but won’t ever tell Sonic beacuse he knows his brother doesn’t want to be stated in one place now more than ever, he wants to go around, see the world he missed for six months, he needs to run, and even though he offered him to come along he “doesn’t want to be clingy”.

Tails won’t ever hold him back or slow him down, he never has. even if it’s killing him inside.

I'm in a mood to write meta/ramble about my opinions so here's why I think DPxDC fics that put Johnstantine in a paternal/uncle/mentor role are fine actually.

"But John is canonically a godawful father with little to no interest in parenthood" yes, that's why it's funny to throw teenagers at him. He is imminently tormentable. "Bad things happening to John Constantine" is approximately 72% of plots in Hellblazer. Also, Dadantine fics tend to be ones where Danny's parents react violently to him being a ghost and Vlad’s canonical villain motivation is that he wants to be Danny’s dad. The fact that Constantine is a) not his dad and b) has no interest in being his dad immediately makes him a relatively safe adult. Also, subjecting a noir horror protagonist to cartoon teen shenanigans is funny simply by virtue of the contrast. Juxtaposition is hilarious and I primarily read and write fanfic for my own amusement.

"Okay, bad things happening to Johnstantine is 72% Hellblazer plots, but he brings most of that upon himself and the other 28% of Hellblazer plots involve nice or neutral things happening that he proceeds to irretrievably fuck up" yes and after 40-odd years of this I am BORED. A constant never-ending tragedy train gets boring. Also I like Johnstantine, if he wasn't a likable scumbag he wouldn't be such a compelling character. Maybe I want him to have nice things sometimes! Also, by virtue of cartoon protagonist plot armor, if anybody could survive being in John's "I Kill Everything Good In My Life" radius it would be Danny Phantom.

I'm not saying you have to like Dadantine dpxdc fics, I'm just saying that they can be done in a way that makes sense for John's character. I personally feel that those are the ones where they tame each other like feral cats and they both think the other one is the feral cat.
