Honestly, I'm really grateful that my brain isn't wired to jump from hyperfixation to hyperfixation. It has its own unique drawbacks, sure, but I've always found it really comforting that I know what to expect from myself.

i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.

i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.

and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.

there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.

the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.

why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies

at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.

so um. the new sonic movie am i right?

i am unwillingly getting really into sonic rn after watching the movie on monday and i think it comes as a shocker to absolutely nobody that shadow is my favorite character. literally every time he was on screen i was making grabby hands bc hes so. CUTE. i love him

me and my friend actually dressed up for this movie like we did for the my hero movie in october hehe, it was a lot of fun! i also..... may or may not have bought and started playing the sonic x shadow generations game on the switch today ,,,,,,,,,, heh

holy crow man. i binged the second season of LC in one night (bad decision dont do that i now need to go back and watch it again cause its all sludgy in my brain) and that twist ending hit me like a truck.

after watching the first season as it came out and being super hyped for the second, only to fall off watching it cause i did not care too much for the structure + it was at a really busy time in my life... well i wasnt sure what to expect, but it sucked me in.

i still definitely have some beef with the writing and structure (the recontextualization of previous scenes is only cool the first 5 times, and only when it doesnt feel like you cut away super deceptively, and its also cooler when you dont use upwards of 20 seconds of the exact same footage we already saw)

BUT THEY ALSO GAVE ME EVERYTHING I WANTED!!!!!!! QIAO LING & CHENG XIAOSHI SIBLINGS REAL!!!!!!! TIME LOOP THEORY REAL!!!!!! more sick fight scenes??? the main trio acting like they actually like each other more than once per episode (not that the stuff in season 1 isn't good, we're just getting the pay off here), through a game of memory telephone Qiao Ling has now seen images of her brother (!!) dying, so thats exciting and i hope the next sequential episodes (cause my understanding is that the bridon arc is a prequel) show her grappling with the horror of that and also i would love to have her and Lu Guang talk abt it and then not tell Cheng Xiaoshi bc they need to be closer friends.

anyway i think without the twist ending and the QL & CXS stuff we got i probably would have gone "well, that was a let down compared to season 1 but oh well, hopefully the bridon arc is good" and promptly moved on with my life, but these clowns actually have a stranglehold on me right now.
