i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.
i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.
and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.
there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.
the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.
why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies
at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.
good for him.
#starters movieunleashers#rambles#long post#mudkip starters#fennekin starters#chespin starters#NOT TO SAY THAT BEING 12 YEARS OLD ABSOLVES YOU OF ALL CRIME BUT GOOD GOD#i honestly think it was good for chespin to distance himself from them??? especially mudkip. holy cow#he seemed... happier(?) in wild oranberries but tbf its hard to say for sure#bc chespin loves doing this thing called âlyingâ#also. i saw the end credits sequence#not sure how to feel about it i do not have enough information to go off of#but i suppose itll make more sense... all in due time#but going back to what i said earlier i think the issues a lot more complicated#i worry about chespin that boys friendship is basically just âi can fix him!â like girl. no#THEY ALL NEED THERAPY#INCLUDING THE GANG FROM LAVENDER TOWN#*ESPECIALLY* THOSE GUYS#please. ill cry#i cant help but think this will all end in tragedy#i hope mudkip gets a good ending or at least a bittersweet one#like again. he kills people. but hes also like not even in high school and i feel bad for all of them#anyways IM SORRH GOR YHE LONG RAMBLE I RLLY LIKE THIS SERIES??? AND THIS THOUGHT WAS EATING ME ALIVE SO I RLLY WANTED TO SAY IT#hey gang. new hyperfixation#hm. i should also mention the âwatching his close friend die on front of him and feeling responsible for itâ to the list of chespins traumas#i domt think fennekin was a âbad friendâ as much as i think she just had her owm things toing on#and its entirely chespins choice to dostance himself from her

YOU STILL LIKE IT THOUGH

GENRE: Fluff, crack fic ish?
PAIRING: Choi su-bong/thanos x preg!fem!reader
FEAT: Nam gyu as the supportive bestie (that he never rlly was)
A/N: this fic i based of a request from anon !! Tbh i changed ALOT of the request (haha- sorry đ) because I felt like it was a little repetitive and idk i just can't write rlly emotional scenes with Thanos for some reason (??) ALSO I feel like there are parts where Thanos seems ooc? Idk.. i wrote this instead of studying in the span of 30 mins

"Whoo!" You hear Thanos shout on the top of his voice while he high fives nam gyu as they both jump up and down as if they were children in elementary school after winning a play ground game
You manage your groan, suppressing it while you stare at them from afar, of course that crazy fucker managed to pass through the first game.
You hated to admit it, but a part of you was relieved,
You always had a thing for psycho guys, and your ex boyfriend? The one with the brightly dyed hair who was now doing some weird dance seemed to proudly embody every part of that sentiment.
You carefully watch from afar, not wanting to catch his eyes, your hand unknowingly lay over your stomach while you move uncomfortably in the bunk bed
Fuck, your feeling dizzy all over again
You hear a thud against your bed post, you look up slowly, your eyes slightly squinting to see the purple haired boy with a usual frown on his face
"Hey" his eyebrows raise "are you okay"
"I thought I told you to get lost earlier"
Your mood swings weren't really helping either
"Geez woman" thanos tchs but sits beside you in your bed anyways "im just trying to help" grumbling under his breath but the cautious expression in his face saied otherwise
"I came here to brag about how amazing i usually am but seeing you like this is just killing the vibe yknow"
he makes a hand gesture in the air, leaning face closer in an attempt to make you smile which does not go wasted as the smile you tried to supress escaped your face
"Fuck off you loser" your still kneeling, your hands over your knees and your face hiding behind your knees but he hears the smile in your voice anyways.
He wouldn't want to admit it, but he was relieved
He always had a thing for girls with pretty voices and you? The girl right next to him had to have one of the prettiest voices he had ever heard. Ofcourse who would better know than a rapper like himself?
"I thought I told you to stick close to me, instead you leech to that crazy old man" thanos says as he points towards gi hun who sat far away in the opposite side
You immediately slap his hand, causing him to wince while retracing it back, rubbing it softly
"How many times will I tell you! You shouldn't point your hands at strangers especially to people who are older" you scold him rather loudly causing him to wince even more
"Agh" thanos ruffles his neon hair while complaining "why don't you shout louder so that everyone will hear and laugh at me?"
You resist the urge to roll your eyes upon his childish manners, he really didn't change
Thanos suddenly bangs the top of the bunk with a loud sound, taking you by shock
"Oi" his voice loud and almost threatening "nam gyu" calling out the man above the bed
Immediately your taken by shock once more when a man's head pops upside down, with black oily hair falling all over his face from above the bed
"Yes Thanos?" Nam gyu quickly inquired while sparing you a quick glance which didn't go unnoticed by the scowling man next to you
"Did you hear her telling me off?" He points at nam gyu before quickly adding "careful, there's only one correct answer"
Nam gyu pauses and thinks which seems to be the wrong thing to do as it just annoys Thanos
"Whats wrong with you, tell me quickly!"
"N-no! Not at all! Infact nobody heard anything!" Nam gyu quickly says, obviously lying but this seemed to please Thanos who now held a haughty face
Wow, this is was supposedly the father of your unborn child. Shame you and your taste in weird guys
Before Thanos could open his mouth to say something, a group of pink guards enter the room with large containers
Straight away you freeze up, shrinking behind the bed while your heart hammered, fear spread across your face
Noticing your expression on your face, instinctively Thanos covers you with his back, shielding you with his arms which covered your sides while his expression, though you could not see was filled with wariness
The pink guards open the large containers they were carrying as everyone watched quietly, scared as they were unsure of what to expect, you included
The pink guard with the white circle lifts up a piece of bread and milk "lunch time" announcing in the same robotic voice like all the other guards
A sigh of relief escapes your mouth as your shoulders relax, unlike you Thanos still shields you, covering your face with his back
You hit him with a thud on the back of his head
"What the hell man" thanos turns around, his eyes glaring at you
"Stop trying to act like a hero you shameless prick" you frown even though his actions did leave you with a warm feeling in your heart
"Your acting so protective after all the stunt you pulled before we broke up" you continue "seeing you act all so protective is just pissing me off even more"
Thanos throws his head back, groaning "give me a break woman. You know I was going through a hard time"
"Bullshit" your fold your arms, as if it was act to protect yourself, and the unborn baby in your stomach.
The poor thing was only 2 months old
The both of you hear nam gyu cough from above the bed, forgetting that he was there in the first place
Again Thanos bangs the top of the bunk, causing you to give him a look
"Stop doing that" you scold him
"doing what?" Thanos raises his eyebrow before banging the top of the bunk again while sticking his tongue at you
Nam gyu pops back down again, upside down, the sight would have been hilarious only if you weren't experiencing the pain in your stomach and the sight of the man sitting beside you
"Go get lunch for me and my girl" thanos tilts his head towards you while avoiding your eyecontact while you tell yourself not to think about the fact that he still referred to you as 'his girl'
"go fast what are you still doing here" thanks reprimanded nam gyu
Nam gyu awkwardly stood unsure of what to say "but it's just one bread and one milk per person"
"Then give her yours" thanos said simply "and go steal someone's lunch for me"
"Then what about for me?" Nam gyu asked dumbfounded which caused Thanos to pause and think for a while
"That's not my fucking problem man- now go" he pushes him away, leaving you with a heavy sigh
"I don't want to eat"
"Don't talk bullshit" thanos eyes you "you think i'm gonna let you starve? I never did, and i wont be starting now"
Again with the whole protective boyfriend act, fuck, why did it make your heart race a little?
"Your still such an asshole, you didnt change a bit" you huffed as you leaned behind, resting your back against the wall
"Well you changed" thanos says which quirks your curiosity
"How so?'
"I don't know" he shrugs "something is different. Something happened, i can't exactly ppint my fi ger at it though"
Your eyes dart away from his while your breathing started to fasten slightly
"Oh yea? How so?" You ask, your voice slightly higher than it was which Thanos picks up immediately
"Ohoho" he grins "did I get it right? Did you get something done?" He glances you up and down which leads you to hitting him
"Ow- i was just joking, you still take everything so seriously" he grumbled holding your hand from hitting him "I wish that part had changed'
Your other hand comes swinging which he again grabs softly
"jokingg" he says in a sing song voice before letting both your arms go leaving you with a scowl and him with a satisfied smirk in his face
"Asshole" you mutter which stretches his smirk even more
"You still like it though"
You almost swear you heard a hint of vulnerability in his tone, prompting you to glance at him quickly just to catch him already looking at you
"So? Aren't you gonna ask me what has changed?" You ask slowly, in your head trying to process whether your doing the right thing or not,
You first found out you were pregnant with your baby right after you and Thanos broke up.
The following days, whenever you went to pay him a visit, he was always missing, causing you to believe maybe it was better for him not to know. And then you suddenly meet him for the first time after your breakup during the squid games
The timing was almost comical
"Why?" Thanos continued still with an amused face "you still seem the same on the inside"
Your hand immediately goes to your stomach, slowly tracing along it from above the green track jacket which everyone wore
"Don't tell me your sick or something" thanos asks with his voice slightly raised as he notices your action "fuck are you?"
His eyes slightly widens as he frowns "hey" he snaps his finger upon your zoning out "are you sick?"
"Hm?" You ask confused
"What the fuck" he swears under his breath with a anxious expression on his face while his hand runs through his finger "is that why your here? To win some money for your treatment?"
"Su Bong its not like that-" All your attempts of correcting him seemed to be futile as he sweared loudly, getting out of the bed
"Shit shit shit!" He grabs his head while he paced around the floor, a sight you had seen a few times over the span of your relationship
"ofcourse that's why your here, you would only be here for a sensible reason"
"Oh, su bong" you attempt to appeal to him, reaching your hand out, pulling his closer towards you while he hands were still over his head, eyes lowered
"Fuck baby I'm so sorry" he breathed out "shit i never should have left, i thought" he paused "I thought I'd win some money and get you back, give you the life you really deserve but"
You watch his dazed expression while he rambled, you bit you underlip, hesitant of whether to tell him the truth still
"Fuck, i didn't even know that, i didn't even know you were sick-"
Before he could continue again you grab his face , forcing him to look at your face
"I'm not sick, that's not why im here"
Thanos breathed heavily, everything felt so real suddenly, he felt his cross necklace strapped around his neck, his fingers itching to pop a pill in his mouth to sooth his nerves
"I'm not sick" you shake your head as you lean your forehead against his "su-bong"
You can still feel his strained breaths and darting eyes
"I'm pregnant"
And it all stopped,
You held your breath, afraid of what would happen if you let go, your could heart your heartbeat from your ears, feel the realisation setting inside thanos,
You were scared. Scared of how he would react
He breaks away first, slowly and gently. Staring at you with no expression in his face,
"And it's yours" you rapidly feel the need to add, taken back by his silence which didn't not suit him "and i know having a kid was never in your plan, and i know things are over between us but-"
Your body is wrapped by his arms and his face nestles in your neck, pulling your deeper in his embrace
"Holy shit" thanos whispers in your ear, you can hear the giddiness radiating off his voice "im a dad"
"Yea you are" you laugh a little as you say "your a dad"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I never got the chance to"
Thanos furrows his eyebrows but doesn't press any more "will you let me be our baby's dad?" He ask
"You know I grew up without a dad, this kid doesn't deserve that" he pokes your stomach with a soft grin which looked slightly odd against his eccentric features "I wanna be in this kids life"
You nodd softly, hearing his words
"And yours too" thanos looks up to you, grinning while he winked at you "senorita"
"You corny bastard" you laugh shaking your head
"You still like it though"
You nodd your head, with tenderness in your eyes and voice
"I do"
âËïœĄâââïœĄËâ extra scene pack !!
"Thanos!" Nam gyu came running with 3 pieces of sweet bread and 3 packets of milk "I got it! Do you know how much trouble i went to get all these-"
"Give it here " thanos grabbed all the bread and milk away "why did you take so long anyways"
Nam gyu held his hands as he pouted "I mean- i had to fight like 2 guys for bread and milk for us-"
Thanos brushed him off as he opened all the packets of bread and poked in the straw of all the milk packets
"Uhm thanos" nam gyu apprehensively called out "What are you doing?"
Thanos hands you all the bread and urges you to eat while he holds the packets of milk in his hand, ready to feed you
Thanos gestures towards you who was sitting in the bed, now wrapped in not only your jacket but his aswell "can't you see the lady is pregnant"
Nam gyu scratched his head "pregnant? With who?"
Thanos shakes his head, exaggerating his actions "dumb ass, she's pregnant with my baby ofcourse" he announced like it was the most obvious thing in the world
"Holy shit!" Nam gyu gaped his hand covering his mouth as he stares at you while you sheepishly smile at him
Thanos let out a small laugh which then slowly grew louder
"What? Why are you surprised? Ofcourse i succeeded in my first try- fuck" he kneels down in pain after being striked by you in the stomach
Nam gyu pulls a face in behalf of Thanos as he pats his back sympathetically while he whispers to you
"Don't worry. I know it probably wasnt his first try or anything- ow" nam gyu kneels on the ground after being hit in the stomach by thanos
âËïœĄâââïœĄËâ
"What... what are you guys doing?" You question as you approach Thanos and nam gyu who were huddled up in a corner, in a long rather quiet conversation which seemed like an unusual activity for both of them to part take in
Both in the 'discussion' and 'quiet' part
Thanos loops his arm around your with a proud smirk on his face while urging nam gyu to announce what they were discussing
Nam gyu nodds eagerly as gets up in his two feet quickly, standing straight and tall with a loud and confident voice "we have decided the perfect name for the baby !!"
You see thanos's broad smile and nam gyu's confident voice, uneasiness settling in your stomach for whatever name they picked out
"These is the name that Thanos and i have personally given a lot of thought for and chosen after much contemplation !!"
Thanos nodded his head with a content expression while he winked at you, assuring that you'll like it
"Ahem" nam gyu clears his throat "before I announce the name that we have chosen, i would like to give recognition to the name we almost chose aswell !!"
Thanos immediately began clapping his hand loudly "waaah, I never knew you could speak so well "
This comment made nam gyu's chest fill swell with pride as he puffs out his chest a little
"I shall now, announce the first runners up, the name that almost was given to the new born baby"
nam gyu pauses which prompts Thanos to make the sound of drum rolls
"Nebula" nam gyu announces as he and thanos clap loudly.
Seeing your still figure both men urge you to claps aswell
"Nebula?" You mutter under your breath "where have i heard that name before?"
"And now, the name that has been selected over numerous selection test and discussion, the name of the baby is" nam gyu points at your stomach
"Gamora"
Thanos whoops loudly, both nam gyu and him clapping their hands in the air while you stand off handedly as it hits you
"Your naming our child after the daughter of the purple alien monster from a superhero movie?!"

third times the charm

pairing: tyler owens x f!reader
word count: 3.8k
summary: life has a funny way of putting people in your path, and ultimately making them part of your life. but what happens when the one person you never want to see stumbles in over and over again, a disastrous tornado tearing up your path of moving on?
aka: the two times tyler owens enters and, consequently, leaves, your life at the wrong time, and the one time he comes at the perfect moment and finally stays.
warnings: reader is described in a feminine manner; why are we ignoring his bull rider trope? cause i'm not babes xx; angsty mainly, but fluff too; lovers to enemies back to lovers (sorry); this author knows nothing about tornadoes or weather so sorry
shoutout to megan moroney and her banger new album where this title and idea come from :)

i.
"What do you mean you're leaving?!"
Tyler shuts the tailgate of his red pick-up with a loud slam, the cowboy hat on his head nearly flying off with the force. Y/N stood just a few feet away, her arms crossed over her torso as her chest heaved in short, shaking breaths. The sunlight hits her just right, and the gold chain around her neck glimmers in the sunlight. It catches Tyler's attention from the corner of his eye-it had been burned into his mind from the moment he'd bought it with a chunk of his earnings from last year's rodeo. The chain was delicate, simple, but the charm had been the main appeal: it was gold, the same shade as the chain, but in the center of the small heart shaped pendant sat a capital 'T'. She'd worn it since he'd given it to her for a birthday present, and it had been the center piece of even their most intimate moments-her bare beneath him with only the glittering jewelry adorning her as he had her unraveling under his touch. Even the thought of it had heat traveling up Tyler's neck, and he swallowed down the feeling, along with all of the guilt bubbling to the surface.
"I'm leavin', simple as that."
"Ty, I-I don't understand. You get bucked off one time and you're giving up?! You've been riding since we were kids, I-"
He turns to her, emerald eyes blazing with an emotion he couldn't put a label on.
"I didn't just get 'bucked off', I almost got my head trampled in case you forgot!" His voice is laced with anger. He's not angry with her, he's angry with himself. After a series of unfortunate injuries in last month's local rodeo, Tyler knew he couldn't ride again, it would kill him. He'd spent the last few weeks in physical therapy and doctor's offices just to make sure the damn bull hadn't left behind more than scars.
It was better this way, he could leave his town behind, and forget about the deep, gut-twisting feeling of failure that sat like acid in his stomach. But leaving his hometown also meant leaving her.
Tyler had fallen for Y/N their junior year of high school, and they'd rarely been seen without one another ever since then. She was sweet and shy to his brash and confident, his biggest supporter-always sitting in the stands for all of his rides-whether he was the talk of the town or stumbling home, his shotgun rider, and the girl who wore his heart (literally and figuratively) on a chain around her neck. Looking at her now, with tears lining under her gorgeous eyes, he wanted to just forget all of his plans and pull her into his arms. He wanted to reassure her that he'd stay here, that he'd give her the life that he'd promised her-apple pie and babies, the perfect picket-fence life she deserved.
"Tyler, you-you can't be serious! W-What about your parents, your plans, hell, Tyler, what about me?!" Her shoulders now moved as she let out shuddering breaths, eyebrows furrowed as she grew frustrated. "Tyler Owens you promised me, you promised me a farmhouse, and a wrap-around porch, a-and babies! And now you're just gonna take off to God-knows-where to what? Storm chase?"
She stops and lets out a dry chuckle. She'd been 'chasing' with him before, vivid memories of him scaring her shitless chasing tornadoes in his truck, only to 'apologize' to her by making love in the backseat after the storm had passed. Through their time together, she, too, had grown to love the storms. Y/N took her camera into the storms with them, more than ready to capture the freakishly beautiful moments of pure disaster before it struck. She'd stand in the pouring rain next to him, laughing as wind whipped hair around her face. He'd snap a picture of her with her own camera that she'd set aside and she'd roll her eyes. They'd been happy, bonded by a mutual love of mother nature's chaos and one another. Now, she turns her back to face him, shaking her head as her bottom lip trembles.
"Ya know, I should've listened to everyone who told me to stay away from you in high school, that you'd just hurt me. I didn't believe them, not one bit, because I know you. You're running because you're scared. You don't have to run, Ty. You've never run from your fears, for God's sake you ride them! What the hell are you thinking?!"
Tears stream down her face, and Tyler feels his resolve slipping. He hadn't thought it through, not really, and now as she stands in front of him, he realizes he's only hurting her more and more. He needed an out, he needed to skip town, no matter who it hurt.
"I'm thinking that I'm a fuckin' failure at everything, no matter what I try! The only thing I'm good at is storms, chasin' them, getting close enough to see something! I fail at everything, Y/N/N, and if I stay, I'll just fail you, too. Over and over."
"Tyler, you've never failed me," she brings her hands to either side of his face, her thumb brushing a cut that still hadn't scarred over from his fall. Her eyes were blurry and her hands trembled. "Please, stay." Her voice was hardly a whisper, pleading desperately.
"You know I can't."
She nodded solemnly, wiping tears so she could take a final look into his eyes. She gave no warning when she launched her arms around his neck, all but hanging onto him like a child. He hugged her tighter than he ever had, and when she let go, he placed a final heated goodbye kiss on her lips. Y/N looks at him, her brain screaming pleas to make him stay, but she simply kisses his cheek before speaking.
"C-call me when you get there?"
He takes one last glance at her, taking her in completely, as if trying to memorize her. His eyes land on the jewelry adorning the spot just below her collarbone, the gold shining in the sunset, knowing he'd never see it on her again-if he ever even saw her again.
"You'll be the first person I call, baby."
Y/N's call never came.
She spent the summer miserable, but refused to take off the gold chain she hid under shirts. It burned her skin in a metaphorical sense, but she ignored it, just like the heartbreak that had festered into deep resentment for Tyler Owens. She'd decided to take off to the local university for a clean start, somewhere new, somewhere his ghost wouldn't haunt her. Things had begun to look up, and she found herself smiling again. The morning before her first day of classes, she almost took the chain off, but couldn't bring herself to do so.
When she spotted his tall figure sitting a row ahead of her in her Intro to Meteorology class, she pretended not to know who he was. It was only fair, he'd done the same to her. For a reason that neither of them could vocalize, they begin to hate one another. Without knowing it, Tyler had become the storm that had sparked her into chasing after danger forever, the one that had left destruction so fatal she wasn't sure if she'd ever recover.
-
ii.
"You've got to be kidding me."
Y/N rolls her eyes and nearly throws her laptop across her dorm room when she looks down at her field partner pairing. The name in bold stares back at her like some sick joke.
Tyler Owens.
She shuts her laptop with a force that could shatter glass and slams her face into her pillow to let out a scream that could have easily been heard four counties over. The universe had to hate her.
With one glance at her watch, she hops from her bed and packs her duffel, her camera slung around her other shoulder. After silently praying that this storm takes her away in one quick swoop, she opens the door to her room and stumbles down the stairs to the lobby, where he was waiting for her outside the double doors. She can already feel her skin flaming with anger when she catches sight of his towering frame, baseball cap thrown backwards over his head.
"'Bout fuckin' time sweetheart, thought the storm would pass before we even got out there!"
"Oh, kiss my ass, Owens."
She rolls her eyes and climbs into the red truck she had once been a permanent fixture in, feeling almost like nothing had changed since the last time she'd crawled into the passenger side. She had half a mind to let down the driver's side visor to see if her picture still sat inside it, but Tyler climbs in the second she thinks about it. The half hour drive is uncomfortable, silent, and laced with tension so thick both halves of the couple begin to wonder if the air supply is getting thin. But as the storm approaches, both of their eyes are locked on the massive twisting figure just ahead of them. Y/N reaches for her camera, focusing the lens as best as she can through the windshield of the truck. She sighs when the view is less than satisfactory. Without much thought, she begins to move the window crank on the door to let down the window.
"What the hell are you doin'?" Tyler's voice breaks their silence.
"What does it look like, Owens? Getting a better shot." Her body hangs halfway out the window, camera leaning out the window as she moves the lens and clicks.
"Get your ass in the truck, I'm not payin' your hospital bills when you fall out and I run over you."
She rolls her eyes and ignores him, almost her entire body hanging out the window.
"Okay, okay, get in the truck, I'll get you closer, Jesus."
She pulls herself back into the truck and rolls the window back up as Tyler moves forward down the muddy path, closer to the storm now building ahead. The wind and rain grow more intense, shaking even the bulky vehicle that could easily withstand even the most treacherous of conditions. The spiraling tunnel only moves at a more pummeling speed, and Y/N's sharp shout fills the air.
"Stop the truck!"
He hits the brake and before the truck even stops, Y/N's rolling out of the passenger side, camera raised as she captures a monster of a storm. Tyler finds himself silent, momentarily distracted-her hair blowing with the force of the wind, the smile drawn across her face, and the long sleeve button down she'd been wearing was slipping down her shoulders, exposing her tank top and-wait-he raises an eyebrow, his heart stopping. Against her neck sat a gold chain he knew too well. It stops him completely in his tracks, shocked that she still wore his initial around her neck. The sound of a roaring train pulls him from his thoughts and sends him leaning out his own door.
"Y/N," he's shouting over the loud winds. "GET YOUR ASS IN THE TRUCK!"
The barrel of wind only gets closer, the fierceness of wind making Tyler's heart race. The girl outside his truck, however, only smiles wider, raising her camera for another shot of the approaching storm.
"I'M FINE, TYLER. WIND'S NOT EVEN THAT BAD!"
Tyler huffs as his voice, raspy from yelling, shouts again.
"THAT WASN'T A REQUEST, SWEETHEART. GET YOUR ASS IN THIS TRUCK!"
She ignores his shouts, only squinting her eyes at the horizon as the wind picks up another notch, making the shirt now halfway down on her arms blow like a flag in the wind. Tyler gives her a minute to comply, hoping this was just a momentary phase of her being stubborn. After five minutes, Tyler cursed and stomped out of the truck over to her. He says nothing, picking her up over his shoulder.
"TYLER! WHAT THE FUCK?! PUT ME DOWN, ASSHOLE!"
He doesn't give in to her retorts, simply swinging her door open and shoving her into the passenger seat. He gets into his driver's side and slings his arm on her headrest, turning to back the truck around.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Do you have some sort of sick kink where you get off on ruining my life? I had a perfect shot, it-"
"You had a perfect shot of getting sucked into a tornado is what you had, Y/N. You're gonna get yourself killed gettin' that fuckin' close!"
"Like you would care." Her voice isn't even a mumble, and Tyler hardly hears her over the sounds of the storm.
It sends a jab of pain through his heart he doesn't expect, and instead of saying anything, he lets her stew in anger in his passenger seat. When he drops her off at her dorm, she agrees to email him her half of the project, and a week later he receives it.
He opens the email to find exactly what he imagines, the most spectacular shots of a storm he's ever seen. After the report and photos are submitted, the two never speak to one another again. They both graduate under the same Arkansas sun, but lead different lives in the same area of the country. Y/N swears she sees his truck pass her every time she goes out to shoot, and he sees her in every girl that stands in a field with a camera.
Y/N would never admit that she has a burner account subscribed to his livestreams, or that she laughed and smiled as she watched him hoop and holler with his ragtag group of friends, memories of the chases they once went on filling her mind more fondly than painfully these days. And if she had one of the red and white shirts with his stupid cartoon face plastered against it, well, no one would ever know.
When Boone and the rest of his crew would stop for food and rest breaks, if Tyler saw her name plastered in a newspaper or magazine, he'd put it on the counter next to his plethora of snacks. He'd never admit he'd cut her articles out of them and kept them in a small scrapbook that lived in his glovebox, right next to the picture of her that once lived in his visor-only because a magazine cut-out clip of her lived there now, her smiling with a massive twin barrel storm behind her, the gold chain peeking from the shirt was wearing.
-
iii.
"Ty, man, this one's a beaut! She's unreal!"
Boone's voice filled Tyler's ears from the passenger seat, but as Tyler looked out at the horizon, his attention was far from the brunette that sat next to him. He saw her car before he saw her-the same rink-dink, decked out, black Subaru she'd had in college, meaning she was here on her own, not for business.
His green eyes darted to the field across from where it was parked, spotting her instantly as she stood in the tall grass, hair blowing as she brought her camera to her face, crouching down to get the perfect shot. She shook her head when she pulled back from it, enjoying the sight in front of her.
Tyler puts the truck in park and all but barrels out of the door, his boots taking him towards her, but not nearly fast enough.
"Jesus, who's that? And why's she got Ty all in a tizzy?" Boone leans over to Lilly, who gives him an incredulous look.
"That's Y/N Y/L/N, she's a storm photographer, apparently he's got some fan girl crush on her or somethin', he keeps her work in a binder."
"Holy shit! Tyler knows the Y/N Y/L/N?"
Tyler would've blushed and denied Lilly's statement vehemently, but he was too far away to hear. Instead, the whipping winds and the sound of Y/N's delightful laughter filled his ears.
"She's a beaut, huh?" Tyler's voice carries over the noise, falling on Y/N's ears. She takes a breath and turns to face him for the first time in years. She nods slowly.
"Yeah, she's gorgeous. Got some great shots."
Her throat feels dry as his eyes peer down at her. She finally braves a look up at him.
"Um, I'm not studying it or anything, just bored, really. I'll let you and your crew have her."
She gives him a small smile, but he notes it's genuine as she caps the lens on her camera.
"It was good to see you, Ty. Good luck."
"Y/N, wait. I-I need to ask you somethin'."
She pauses her steps, turning back to face the man in front of her. For a split second, he looks just like the younger version that had left her all those years ago-the hat, the belt buckle, but none of that same all consuming fear.
"Sure, go ahead."
"Why do you still wear it? I saw you, that time in college, and when you did that shoot outside of Kansas City, the picture they published of you, it-you can see it real clear."
Y/N stills, pushing back hair that's blowing in the wind as she looks at him. She could say a multitude of things-how she wore it because she'd gotten so used to always wearing it. That she wore it because she wanted to hold onto him the only way she could. She could lie and say that she used it as a good luck charm. None of them would be the truth, and she was sick of lying to him, so she simply told the truth.
"Well, all the best chasers, they carry their first storm with them, right?"
She pauses, realizing how vague that was.
"What I mean is, without you taking me through my first storm I never would've done this. I was terrified of them, and you and that stupid red truck of yours showed me how beautiful they can be, and now I capture their beauty for a living. I never would've had any of this without you, so-"
She shrugs, giving him a small chuckle. The silence suffocates as he looks at her.
"Tyler listen-"
"If you're gonna apologize, don't. I'm the one that should apologize, I left you all those years ago. That was real shitty of me, and I didn't give you a warnin' or a reason why. So, I'm sorry, for all of it."
She nods, giving him a smile. The quiet floods between them again, and she pushes back her hair again before she speaks.
"I-I watch your videos, y-your livestreams. You're still crazy, but it reminds me of when we used to chase, and you'd scare me to death, and then you'd, uh, 'apologize' for it and, sometimes it's like I'm there with you."
He laughs with her.
"I-I've got every newspaper and magazine clippin' you've ever been in. You're pictures they're-breathtakin', it feels like you're standin' in the field right there next to you. I guess that's just because I used to be and memories, ya know?"
She nodded, giving him a sweet smile, one that sends his heart racing. They both turn their attention to the horizon where the storm seems relatively calm, at least by their standards.
"Uh, Y/N? I'm sorry, I promised you somethin' all those years ago, and I never made good on it. I think about that a lot, and-just-I'm sorry."
"I forgave you a long time ago, Ty, we were kids." She pauses, tilting her head as she looks at the storm brewing. "Besides, I don't think I'm cut out for that life anymore, I like life on the road. I mean, where else do you get moments like this? The storms back home are wonders, but nothing like this."
"I agree with you there," he chuckles. His heart pounds, and the words slip out of his mouth before he can stop them. "I miss you though."
She cuts her eyes to his own, as if waiting for him to explain himself.
"You were my original chasin' partner, ya know? Plus, when things got scary, you never flinched, not really. This reporter I've got now? God help us all, can't stand much more than a strong wind."
Y/N laughs loudly before she shakes her head.
"Well, you might be in luck. I hate working for that magazine, I really, really do." She turns to face him, camera pulled close to her chest. "The Tornado Wranglers hiring? I'm looking for a job. I have a portfolio if you need it, references too."
Her statement is laced with sarcasm.
Tyler finds himself laughing now, a wide smile plastered across his face.
"I'm familiar with your work, have it on good graces that you're just what we're lookin' for. Lucky for you, we've always got room for one more, that is, if you'll have us. I gotta warn you, those over there are a handful."
"If they're anything like you, I'm likely to fall in love with them instantly."
Y/N doesn't register the words stumbling out of her mouth until they'd already filled the air between them. Without a word, Tyler grabs her hand, pulling her in closer than people who have a history like theirs should. His calloused fingers reach out to the gold pendant lying on her neck, moving it back and forth between its fingers. It had withstood their time apart-it was scratched and a little weather-worn, but, then again, so were they.
"The clasp broke about a year ago, the rest is all original. Pure gold, willing to sell it for a good offer. The guy at the pawn tried to undersell me, I know what I've got."
Tyler's chest warms, that sarcastic, witty humor he'd missed back in full force.
"Do you take alternate forms of payment?" He pulls her in by her waist with a cocky grin.
"Depends, Owens, what did you have in mind?"
He cocks his eyebrow, giving her a sort of contemplative look as his hands rest on the small of her back, hers around his neck.
"Well, I still owe you about-," He lifts his hand from around her and pretends to count on his fingers. "A billion apologies, we could chase this stunner of a storm, drop these characters back off at the motel, find us an empty field, and I could apologize like I used to...maybe?"
She shakes her head and pulls him in for a heated kiss. They're both smiling so hard its hardly a kiss, but the feelings are there.
"You've got yourself a deal, but I'm keeping the necklace."
"Wouldn't have it any other way, baby." He kisses her head, pulling her back towards his group of friends, who were now whistling at the pair, obviously catching the interaction. "Fair warning, after he finds out just who you are, Boone's likely to fall in love with you."
She raises her eyebrow, pulling away and heading towards the motley crew ahead of her.
"Guess you'll just have to chase me next."

â© â§âË â© my life with you (thatâs way over now)
synopsis. some people get drunk calls from their exes, maybe even flowers with hand written apologies. you get a knock on your front door with two random kids and a murder case
length. 3.0k words (once more it was supposed to be short)
contents. exes to lovers, ex boyfriend! suguru, gn! reader, slightly deviated from canon (he doesnât kill the entire village + doesnât defect), slightly a fix-it fic, blood, murder, child abuse + neglect (canon events with suguru and the twins), angst to slight fluff with hopeful ending (pretty much happy tbh), mentions of family + kids, suguru pretty much being a broke and depressed lil guy lollll
notes. idk what this is but it was written for me i just wanted to write it so here. take it and look away
right before you graduate, you and suguru break up. you donât want to, but he insists itâs only fairâhe can hardly be there for you the way you need him to be, he says. somethingâs changed in him, it has since that day last year. but stillâyou donât want to break up.
so you argue, he stays firm, you cry, he doesnât change his mind, you break up, he leaves, and the world momentarily collapses.
itâs the way things work, you suppose. they donât quite always go the way you planned. you graduate not long after that, leaving him behind to throw yourself into work while you toe into the baby steps of adulthood. real adulthoodâthe jujutsu world has a way of thrusting you into that faster than normal, anyway.
by the time itâs late summer, you get your first apartment. itâs a rundown placeâthe bathroom tiles look dirty no matter how much you scrub, the walls havenât been repainted in what seems like decades, and the thermostat never works properly to feel like what the temperature indicates.
but itâs yoursâyou leave jujutsu high fresh into the real world, paying your taxes and buying your groceries all while you exorcise curses for a living. barely an adult, barely getting by, barely alive as you get up each day and live.
and then suguru comes knocking on your door half past midnight.
âhey,â he says nonchalantly, like thereâs nothing wrong with standing thereâbut you know him better than that. you can hear that detachment in his voice as he stares between your eyes, but not quite in them.
âyouââ you start, staring at him incredulously before you decide to give up. there are no surprises with suguru, not anymore you suppose. you donât really know him anymore. âsuguru, itâs midnight,â you sighâand thatâs when you see them: two small children that canât be much older than five.
bruises are clear as day on their arms, even while standing in the darkness outside. thereâs also the slight swollen curve of their eyes, and you canât help but notice how theyâre practically skin and bone. children who have probably not yet even lived for five winters, and you almost wonder if theyâve been through more than you have in youâre entire lifetime.
suguru clears his throat before you can stare at them any longer.
âthis is nanako,â he gestures at the blonde, âand this is mimiko.â the brunette one seems more shy, curls behind his leg further as her name is uttered.
you donât know what to say, so you settle for smilingâyouâre not sure if it comes out too genuine, but you try. itâs all you can offer, really.
âhello,â you hum for a moment. and then you turn back to suguru, âitâs midnight.â
âi know.â
âyou should be at school grounds.â
âi know.â
âsuguru,â you sigh, eyeing the blood stained on his cheek. you donât like where this is heading. thereâs a sick feeling twisting in your gut, bubbling, bubbling, bubbling.
bile. you can taste it. somethingâs not right.
âwhere did you find these kids?â
âon a mission,â he says simply, âvillage heads were keepinâ em locked in a cage like animals. can you believe it?â
again, that casual tone. it almost as easy as humming your favorite tune, as smooth as your skin on freshly washed sheets, as quiet as the first day of snow when the world is still. but something about it is hollowâsomethingâs not right.
âwhyâd you bring them here? instead of school? shoko should look at themââ
âi told them theyâd be safe here.â
theyâd be safe anywhere, you think. as long as suguruâs there too. as long theyâre under his watchful gaze, nothing could hope to beat down on their youth like it already has their whole lives. but you donât say thatâsomething tells you he wonât believe you.
maybe not right now.
you donât look at him. you canât. somethingâs not right, but there are children present. so you throw on your best smile and open the door wider, offering them to come in.
your apartment is small, just one bedroom and one bath. thereâs hardly enough food for yourself for tonight, you still have to go grocery shopping this week. the missions were lined up back to back to backâbut thatâs just life as a sorcerer, you suppose. most days you hardly have the energy to eat more than a few apple slices when you return home anyway.
you wave your hand at your place dramatically as you say, âcome on in, ladies. your humble abode awaits.â
they giggle slightly at thatâitâs the first time suguru hears them laugh. you have that effect, he knew you would. itâs why he brings them here and not there. andâŠwell, thereâs a more complicated issue at hand. but thatâs for later.
right nowâŠwell, for right now, he lets you guide them to the bathroom.
âyou have money on you right?â you ask. he blinks, staring at you for a moment before slowly shaking his head.
âspent the last of it on cigarettes this morning.â
great, you think, before sighing and trudging over to grab your wallet as you press a few crisp bills of cash in his hands.
âhere.â
âwhatâs this for?â he raises a brow.
âgo buy them clothes,â you look at him like heâs stupid. he might be, in all honesty. just a little. âiâm not putting them back inâŠthose once theyâre all cleaned.â
âwhaâiâve never shopped for children before,â he gapes, âand i donât know what size they are, orââ
âfigure it out, suguru,â you say tiredly. itâs half past midnightâby now, youâd be passed out from your mission. he seems to take the hint. âand bring some snacks too. should be enough.â
âfine,â he grumblesâand then heâs walking out the door.
for a second, it feels familiar watching him leave. but then you decide not to dwell on itâthere are much more important matters at hand.
you turn to the two girls before crouching in front of them with a gentle smile, âwhoâs ready for bubbles?â
ââââââ
nanako and mimiko have never had a bubble bath before. you decide to let them taste the first tendrils of youth by splashing in your tiny bathtub while you find suguru for some much needed answers.
he sits on your couch, shirt wrinkled and hair falling loose and blood still staining his cheek as he hunches over his legs, elbows resting on his thighs as he thinks. and thinks. and thinks and thinks and thinks.
you wonder about whatâwhat could be plaguing his mind? a lot youâre sure, but this isnât suguru. not the one you know, at least.
the one you knew, the voice in your mind hissesâdo you really even know him at all anymore?
âso,â you sit on the opposite side of the sofa, curling your legs under yourself as you eye him from the side, âcare to explain?â
âi killed them,â he mutters. you go still. âthe village heads. i did it without hesitating. thatâs bad, right?â
âwell fuck, suguru,â you breathe, restless, âthatâs certainly not good.â
âi had a reason,â he argues, âall i needed was one.â
âthereâs nothing that excuses murderââ
âoh, but we can excuse locking kids in cages, is that right? why? cause theyâre sorcerers? theyâre notâtheyâre children.â
âi didnât say that,â you rub your forehead. this is all too much. too, too much.
being a sorcerer is too much. being in front of suguru is too much.
you finish your third year with a broken heart and graduate in springâat one point youâd hoped graduating wouldnât change anything between you and your friends, between you and the boy you loved. everything would be the same, even if youâd leave the place that held you all togetherâyouâd still find a way back to each other, you liked to think. but then it all changes before you can even comprehend.
haibara is dead. nanami is hardly coping. gojo is everywhere but here. shoko is in high demand. suguru is hardly present even when heâs right in front of you. nothing is the same and you donât think it ever will be. you lose the one thing you count on being yours forever, and now, heâs right here again. but not really hereânot with you so much as near you.
suguru has killed people, sitting on your couch with you while the two children he finds are bathing happily in your bathtub.
thereâs some irony in thatâmaybe in a perfect world, suguru and you would sit on the couch, much happier than right now, though. maybe youâd be tucked under his arm and curled into his side as you both chuckle at the happy squeals in the distance. maybe in a perfect world.
but this world is cruel. too cruel, in fact. it forces children to grow up too fast during some times and lets adults continue to be children during others. itâs sickening and all too much.
but this is the world you live in. thereâs not much to change in thatânot much you can change. maybe sitting on the couch with suguru is what you should be grateful for, whether itâs in this world or another.
âi came here because itâs safe,â he mumbles, quieter this time, âi donâtâŠi didnât trust anywhere else.â
something tells you heâs not talking about the kids. you look at him for the first time that nightâreally look at him. you take in the lost weight, the sunken cheekbones and the bruised under eyes from the lack of sleep. the cracked lips from being chapped and the dry hair thatâs lost its normal shine.
somethingâs not rightâyou wonât be able to mend it, but you think you can keep it from getting worse.
âit is safe here,â you murmur, nodding in assurance, âbut you canâtâŠi canât let you do that. not again.â
âwhat? kill people?â he snorts in dry amusement. itâs quiet for a bitâyou open your mouth a few times like you want to say something, but nothing ever comes. he finally decides to fill the silence. âi donât know whatâs right and whatâs wrong anymore. people shouldnât kill. but some people shouldnât live.â
âi think jujutsu is supposed to save people. not everyone will deserve it, but i suppose we wouldnât be much better than them if we used it for anything other than that,â you whisper. he looks over at you at that, peers at you deep in thought as he contemplates your words.
âthatâs funny,â he chuckles, âi used to think that too.â
âwhat changed?â
âeverything.â
âthen change it some more,â you shrug, âuntil you think it again.â he looks at you incredulously at that, eyeing you like youâre crazy.
âyouâre an idiot,â he scoffs.
âsays the killer,â you scoff back. you look at him this time, in the eyes and full of conviction, full of promises you couldnât make before but fully intend to keep now. âdonât kill anyone else and iâll help you. with those kids, i mean.â
âyou want to co parent with me?â he chuckles.
co parentâthe word makes your stomach twist. even after all this time, after all the hurt and pain, suguru is easy to imagine that with. heâs easy to imagine anything in the future with, really. heâs always been perfect like that, but youâre starting to realize thereâs a lot more imperfections to him than you initially thought.
but itâs okay, you think. if you didnât stop loving him before, you certainly donât stop now. blood on his hands or not, heâs yoursâeven if he doesnât want to be.
âdonât say it like that,â you murmur softly, hugging your arms around yourself, âplease.â
you let yourself be vulnerable for just a momentânot because you want to, but because he needs to know. he needs to know how unfair heâs being and how patient you are with him despite it all. you deserve that much.
âsorry,â he muttersâhe has the decency to look away and drop his smile.
âyou donât kill anyone, and iâll look for a bigger place. deal?â
âfor usâŠall?â
âyes. just until you figure it out, iâll help you out with them. and then youâll responsibly use your paycheck as a full time special grade sorcerer and maybe send a few checks my way to say thanks to my good will.â
he chuckles at that, shaking his head. âiâll repay you,â he hums, tapping his foot. he does that when heâs nervous, you still rememberâyou could never forget anything about him. âiâŠi owe you, anyway.â
itâs quiet some more. you donât know what to say, and quite frankly, you donât want to say anything at all. but once more, he fills the silence for you after a while.
âwhat ifâŠâ he starts, âwhat if i want to co parent with you?â
âyou dumped me,â you point out, unable to hide the bitterness any longer. it cracks from your tongue through your words like honey that went dry. âremember that? cause i sure remember.â
youâre an adult now, just barely, but an adult all the same. you should handle this the mature wayâbut youâre still young. still hurt. still blanketed in the fresh wave of nostalgia that leaves you aching with grief.
so you let yourself be bitter. suguru can handle that much after he left you to pick up your shattered pieces.
âi didnât want to,â he says quietly. âi never wanted to.â
âbut you did.â
âi didnâtâŠyou didnât deserve to see me unstable.â
âyouâre not very stable right now either,â you pinch your nose tiredly, âyou killed people, suguru. but somehow you can manage to have two kids now. but not me.â
âthey need me,â he defends.
âi needed you too,â your voice cracks.
you did. you needed himâand you like to think he needed you too. maybe it wasnât perfect, nothing ever is, especially not when you fight curses and see their ugliness every day. but thatâs the best part of having each otherâhaving something pretty amidst the hideousness.
he left you with more ugly than you knew what to do with. itâs unfair, you think for a moment, unfair that two girls who hardly know him at all have more of him than you ever did. heâd never abandon themâthat much you know for sure.
youâve laughed with him, held him and wiped his tears and kissed him under the moon until it became the sun. youâve seen him with his hair down and his guard lowered. youâve seen him in every way possible but in the end, he walked away.
theyâve seen him for less than a day and somehow, heâll be there forever. thereâs something unfair about that and you hate that youâre bitter with children but the world in cruel like that.
suguru slowly inches overâitâs cautious at first, and then he fills the gap all at once. you pretend you donât feel the way your thighs touch.
âi need you too,â he admits, voice small. thereâs a small, shaky crack that eats away at your heart, trying to gnaw into the raw part. the easy to reach part. the part you shouldnât let him see anymore. âiâŠi always needed you. iâm sorry.â
âwe were supposed to need each other,â you sniffle.
âwe do,â he slowly slumps his head onto your shoulder. you let him stay thereâdonât dare move a muscle in case he pulls away. âyouâre the only thing that keeps me stable. i donât think thatâs fair.â
âneeding someone isnât unfair, suguru,â you scoff.
âokay,â he grabs your hand, squeezing. for the first time, he lets it all go. lets tears slowly slip from the corners of his eyes as he slumps into your side. he cries for riko. for kuroi. for satoru and the time he lost him for a moment. for their youth. for haibara. for not being enough even when he shouldnât have had to be. somewhere amidst all that, your arms wrap around him and heâs pulled into your chestâthat familiar feeling of your fingers threading into his hair makes the world start spinning again. âi need you,â he chokes.
âokay,â you say shakily, nodding slowly as you let yourself hope, âas long as you donât stop this time.â
he buries his face into your chest, and you kiss the crown of his head.
cruelty is an unstoppable force. your love for suguru is an immovable object. neither is going anywhere, but perhaps they can coexist.
âsatoruâs gonna have a massive headache when he explains this one to the higher ups,â you snort after a while.
he laughs into your shirt, real for the first time in a long time. âiâll buy him something sweet. should make up for it,â he hums. and then he looks up, smiles innocently as he asks, âwanna lend me some cash? iâll pay you back when iâm a responsible handler of money.â
âyouâre hopeless,â you chuckle, âbut at least youâre here.â
âââââ BONUS âââââ
âokay,â satoru starts, holding his hands up in surrender as he stands before the higher ups. damn old geezers, he thinks. âso he did kill a person or twoâŠbutââ
âthere is no excuse,â a voice hisses.
âhe didnât mean it,â he huffs indignantly, âit was an accident. those can happen sometimes.â
âwhatââ
âheâs going through a phase, okay? let him work through it, heâll be fine.â
âthatâs notââ
âiâll let him off the hook this time,â satoru grins, pushing his glasses up his nose as he shrugs, âheâs got a family now, yâknow? kids and a spouse, and theyâre looking for a home. canât take that away from them.â
âheâs not even marriedââ
âitâll happen eventually,â he insists, âso letâs all just calm down, yeah? great, thanks!â
âgojoââ
âsee ya!â
he walks out, flashing an obnoxious peace sign at the higher ups as they hiss at him to return as heâs walking out. that takes care of that, he thinks, as long as suguru doesnât make his life harder and kill more people, he can handle itâyou did promise him kikufuku if he does.
satoru is babygirl defender no. 1 ainât nobody doing it like my guy đ€đœ he would be loyal to you while you were in jail no doubts

Ghosted by You. | N.R
Spy!Natasha x Innocent!Reader

Warnings: Kidnapping, stab wound
Word count: 3,7k
A/N: Itâs based on this ask here! I tried to create the dynamics exactly like in the movie, but somehow also needed seriousness..đ„ž
You shouldâve stayed home. You really shouldâve stayed home..But no. Your brain, in its infinite wisdom, decided that after one amazing date, Natasha disappearing from your life had to mean something dramatic. That she was in trouble. That she needed you.
That she hadnât just ghosted you because..oh, I donât know, maybe she didnât want to see you again. But did that logic stop you? No. Because instead of letting it go like a normal person, you tracked a random transaction on her credit card, hopped on a plane, and landed in London. And now? Now, you were tied to a goddamn chair in a dimly lit basement, with very angry men staring you down.
One of them paced in front of you, arms crossed. His accent was thick, British but rough, the kind that made you instinctively gulp. âWho sent you?â
You blinked. âWhat?â
âWho. Sent. You?â He leaned in, his breath hot against your face. âWe know you work for the CIA.â
Your heart nearly stopped. âTHE WHAT?!â
The second man sighed dramatically, rolling his eyes like you were personally wasting his time. âThis oneâs gonna be difficult.â
Your brain short-circuited. âWait, wait- hold on a second, you think Iâm in the CIA?!â You let out a weak, breathless laugh. âOh my God. Wait, I think Iâm gonna throw up..â
âCut the act.â The first man grabbed the chair, tilting it back so that you were nearly falling. âWe know you were following Romanoff. What were you planning?â
Your what now? âNatasha? Natasha Romanoff?â You nearly choked on your own breath. âSheâs, sheâs a spy?!â The two men exchanged glances before the first one grumbled, âGreat. The kid doesnât even know.â
âWait, hold on.â Your breathing was turning erratic, panic rising in your throat. âShe told me she was a florist..?â The second man pinched the bridge of his nose. âJesus Christ.â You were spiraling. Your hands shook against the restraints, your brain struggling to process what the hell was happening.
âNo! Wait, you donât understand..â you stammered, words tumbling out too fast. âI literally just followed her because she ghosted me! I thought she wasnât answering because she was in trouble! I-I thought I was being romantic!â
The first man just stared at you. âYou followed a CIA agent across the world because she didnât text you back?â
ââŠYes?â For a second, neither man spoke. Then the first one turned to the other and said, âWe should just kill her.â
âW-WHAT?! NO! No, thatâs not necessary!â You wriggled against the ropes, full-on panicking. âIâm not a spy! I barely passed high school! I cried last week because my WiFi went out! Does that s-sound like someone who works for the CIA?!â
The second man pulled out a knife, twirling it between his fingers. âToo bad.â You squeezed your eyes shut. God, Iâm gonna die. Iâm actually gonna die because I followed a hot woman to London like a freaking idiot..
The door exploded inward. The first guy turned just in time for a bullet to tear straight through his shoulder. He collapsed with a scream. The second one lunged for his gun, but before he could even blink, Natasha stepped into the room, raised her pistol, and shot him twice in the chest.
Your brain short-circuited. Natasha didnât hesitate. Didnât flinch. Didnât even blink as she put a bullet between someoneâs ribs. âOh my God..â you whispered, eyes darting between the two men, one dead, one groaning in pain. âOh my God, you!! You just killed-â
âNot now!â She stormed forward, cutting through your restraints with a huge-ass knife. âAre you hurt ?â
âYOU JUST SHOT TWO PEOPL-âShe grabbed your wrist, yanking you to your feet. âI swear to God, Y/n, I will have this conversation later. Right now? Move.â She shoved you toward the door, and your legs felt like Jell-O. âI-I donât think I can walk..â you stammered.
âThen crawl, I donât care!â Gunfire erupted outside. Natasha grabbed your wrist and dragged you behind her as she stormed into the hallway, firing with precision. One man barely turned the corner before she put a bullet straight between his eyes. You screamed again. âY/n, I will leave you here if you donât MOVE!â she barked.
âWhat-â you whispered, watching people DROP like flies. âDon't look at them.â she snapped, grabbing your face and physically turning it away. âWhat the hell is happening?â Your breathing was getting worse, your chest tightening. âIâNatasha, I donât- I donât understand-â
She groaned. âOh, for fu-âBefore you could process, she picked you up. âN-Natasha!â
âShut up!â She kicked a door open, carrying you like a sack of potatoes. âI can shoot faster when youâre not slowing me down!â
âI CAN RUN!â
âClearly NOT!â
Gunfire shattered the walls behind you. Natasha spun, firing two bullets into the men chasing you. They collapsed instantly. Your breath hitched. âYouâre killing them..â you whispered. Natasha didnât hesitate. âAnd Iâll kill ten more if it gets us out of here alive!â Her coldness made your stomach drop.
You saw it now. The emptiness in her eyes, the precision, the way she fired without flinching. The woman you had been falling for, the one who had smiled at you over dinner, who had kissed you so softly..was a killer.
She caught your expression, saw the fear on your face and for a moment, her own softened. But there wasnât time. She threw you into a stolen car, slammed the door, and sped into the streets. For a long time, you couldnât speak.
âYouâre scared of me now.â she said flatly, breaking the silence. Your mouth openedâclosed. âYou should be.â she muttered. Her hands were still covered in blood. You pressed yourself against the door, heartbeat pounding.
This wasnât the Natasha you knew. This was someone else entirely. And you had no idea what you had just gotten yourself into. The car ride was dead silent. You sat rigidly in the passenger seat, hands curled into fists on your lap, still shaking.
Natasha gripped the steering wheel like she wanted to break it in half. Her knuckles were white, her jaw clenched, and her entire body radiated fury. But you didnât say anything. Because you were terrified. Your brain replayed it all on an endless loop, the gunfire, the bodies dropping, the blood on her hands.
You had thought she was a florist. You had kissed her, flirted with her, trusted her, And she had just killed six people without flinching. Your stomach churned. âSay something.â Natasha finally snapped, eyes still locked on the road. You swallowed, voice weak. âWhere are we going?â
âA safe house.â A safe house. Right. Because thatâs a normal thing to have. You nodded slowly, gripping the door handle like you might have to jump out of the moving car. Natasha let out a harsh breath, running a hand through her hair. âYouâre still scared of me.â You flinched. Her grip on the wheel tightened. âI just saved your life, Y/n.â
âYou also ended six others.â you whispered. The air in the car shifted. Her eyes flicked to you, calculating, cold. âThatâs how this works.â You swallowed hard. âThis?â
She exhaled sharply, looking back at the road. âYouâre in my world now. You donât get to judge me for doing what I have to do.â
âI didnât ask to be in your world!â She let out a bitter laugh. âOh, really? Because flying across the world to follow me sure as hell says otherwise.â
Your face flushed with anger. âI followed you because I thought you were in danger! Not because I wanted to be thrown into some goddamn murder spree!â Her grip on the wheel tightened.
âYou think I wanted this?â Her voice was eerily calm. You hesitated. âI donât- I donât know what to think, Natasha.â She went silent.
The weight of the situation pressed down on you. The reality that you had just witnessed multiple murders. That you had watched Natashaâthe woman you had been falling for, kill like it was nothing. Your chest tightened. Natasha let out a long, exhausted sigh and muttered, âWeâll talk when we get there.â
She parked in a dark alleyway, leading you through a maze of backstreets until you reached an abandoned-looking building. The second she closed the door behind you, she turned, eyes blazing. âWhat the hell were you even thinking?!â
You jumped. âExcuse me?!â
âYou followed me across an ocean. You got kidnapped. You almost died!â
âI DIDNâT KNOW YOU WERE A SPY!â
âTHAT DOESNâT MAKE IT BETTER!â
She stalked forward, and for the first time, you actually backed away. Her face immediately fell. You werenât just arguing.
You were afraid of her. Natasha inhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair. âY/NâŠâ
You pressed your back against the wall, shaking your head. âI donât..â You swallowed hard, voice trembling. âI donât know who you are.â Pain flickered across her face, but it was gone just as fast. She turned away from you, exhaling through her nose. âYou shouldnât have come.â she muttered.
âYou could have just told me the truth!â She spun back, eyes flashing. âAre you out of your mind?! If I had told you- if you had known- you wouldâve been in even more danger!â
Your stomach twisted. âOh yeah? And what now?â You threw up your hands. âI know now, Natasha! I was just kidnapped and almost killed!â She winced. Just for a second.
Then, she stepped closer, voice dangerously low. âYou want to know the truth?â she murmured. You swallowed. âNo-â
âYou wouldâve been fine.â Her voice was cold, calculated. âIf you had just stayed home. If you had just let me go. But now?â Her jaw clenched. âNow, youâre a target.â
Your stomach dropped. âWait, what?â She sighed, rolling her shoulders. âThey think youâre CIA. They think you know something. You donât, but that doesnât matter anymore.â
Your heartbeat thundered. âSo- so what? What happens now?â She gave you a pointed look. âNow? I clean up your mess.â She grabbed a first aid kit and tossed it onto the table.
âSit.â
âIâm fine-â
âSit down.â
You gulped and sat. She grabbed your arm, not gentle but not rough and started cleaning the scrapes from where they had tied you up. The silence between you burned. You stared at her. At the red stains on her shirt. The blood on her hands. The way her shoulders were still tense from the fight.
She was different now. The Natasha who had laughed at your stupid jokes? The one who had kissed you in the rain? That Natasha was gone. Or maybeâŠmaybe she was never real. She caught you staring. âWhat?â she muttered.
You hesitated. âWere you ever going to tell me?â Her hands froze. Then, she dropped the antiseptic, stood up, and turned away.
ââŠIt was never supposed to go this far.â she admitted. Something inside you ached. Because deep down, you knew, this meant goodbye.
She exhaled sharply. âIâll get you back to the States. Iâll make sure they lose your trail.â Your heart clenched. âYouâre just sending me away?â
âYes.â
âBut I-â Your voice cracked. âWhat about you?â She looked away. âIâll handle it.â Tears burned your eyes. âNatasha-â
âThis isnât your life, Y/n.â she said firmly. âIt canât be.â Your chest ached. You had risked everything to find her. And now, she was pushing you away. But deep down, you knew she was right. You werenât built for this. For her. And it broke you. Natasha sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. âIâll get you home tomorrow. Get some rest.â
Well..You and Natasha had been on the run for three days. Three days of gunfire, stolen cars, dodging assassins, and sleeping in dingy safe houses with barely enough time to breathe. Somewhere between nearly dying for the second time, sneaking across borders, and sharing a stolen coat for warmth, something between you shifted.
You werenât just running anymore. You were running together. Natasha was still infuriating. She still rolled her eyes at your bad decisions, still called you reckless, still snapped at you for asking stupid questions. But now? Now she also held your hand when you got too cold. She taught you how to fire a gun, not that you were good at it, but she didnât make fun of you when you missed.
She touched you more. Small, quick touches, her hand on your back, her fingers brushing yours. And most of all? She looked at you differently. Like she actually cared. Like sending you away wasnât an option anymore. âWeâre almost there.â Natasha muttered, pressing her hand to her earpiece. You both crouched behind a pile of rubble in an abandoned city square, panting from the last disaster of a shootout.
âTell me âalmostâ means weâre five minutes away from hot showers and real food..â you whispered. She gave you a dry look. âTry ten minutes and two more obstacles.â
You groaned. âOf course.â
âLook.â She pointed toward the far end of the square. A black helicopter was parked near an old church, CIA agents waiting by the doors. Your chest lightened. The helicopter was right there. You could hear the roar of the blades, see the CIA agents waiting, their weapons ready. Safety was so close you could taste it.
But of course..It was never that easy. You heard footsteps. Too many. And then, before you could react, an arm wrapped around your neck. Cold steel pressed against your throat. Your breath hitched. Natasha whipped around, gun raised. But it was too late.
The man holding you was grinning. He was tall, strong, covered in tactical gear. His knife dug into your skin just enough to make your pulse spike. More men emerged from the surrounding buildings, mercenaries, armed to the teeth. Your stomach twisted. You had walked right into a trap.
âDrop your weapons!!â the man holding you barked. The CIA agents hesitated. Natasha didnât move. She stood rigid, her gun aimed directly at the manâs head. Her eyes burned. âIf you touch her..â she said, voice dangerously low, âIâll put a bullet between your eyes before you even think about blinking.â
The man chuckled. âOh, Agent Romanoff. You care about this one, donât you?â Her jaw clenched. âDrop. Your. Guns.â he ordered again. The agents exchanged glances. Natashaâs finger hovered over the trigger. You could feel her rage. The barely controlled violence. She was waiting for the right moment.
âNatasha.â you whispered, trying not to move against the blade. âJust go.â Her eyes snapped to you. And the way she looked at you, it was the kind of look that said she would burn the entire world down before leaving you behind.
âNot happening.â she said. Your heart clenched. Chaos Breaks Loose And then, everything happened at once. Natasha moved first. The bullet hit its mark, straight through the mercenaryâs shoulder. His grip loosened just for a second. And that was all she needed.
You ripped yourself free, stumbling forward as gunfire exploded around you. The CIA agents opened fire. Natasha was a blur, taking down enemies like they were nothing. You scrambled backward, searching for cover, but the mercenary wasnât done. He lunged.
And before you could react, the knife sank into your stomach. The second the knife plunged into your stomach, the world snapped into sharp, unbearable agony. You gasped, choking on your own breath, as fire erupted through your entire body. The blade twisted.
A raw, animalistic scream ripped from your throat. You collapsed, your legs giving out, your body feeling like it had been set on fire from the inside. The mercenary smirked. âOops.â A bullet tore through his skull before he could even take another breath. His body dropped.
Her hands immediately pressed against your stomach, trying to stop the bleeding. Her face was wild with panic, her breaths coming too fast, her usual iron control completely shattered. âNo. No, no, no-â You couldnât breathe. It felt like someone had shoved glass into your stomach, and every breath dragged shards deeper into you.
âNat..â Your voice broke. âIt- It hurts..â
âI know, I know..â she nearly screamed, pressing down harder. The pain spiked. You choked, nearly blacking out right there. âStay awake, Y/N!â Her voice was frantic, almost desperate. âDo you hear me? Stay awake!â
Your ears rang. You barely registered the CIA agents rushing toward you. âWe have to move-â one of them started. Natasha snarled. âGet a Stretcher on that helicopter NOW!â
Your vision blurred at the edges. Your limbs felt too heavy, your fingers tingling as the blood poured out of you. You could hear shouting. Gunfire? More soldiers? More fighting? You didnât know. All you knew was that you were cold. And so fucking tired.
Natashaâs arms wrapped around you as she hauled you up. âI got you, I got you.â she kept muttering, her voice wavering. You let out a weak whimper as she lifted you. The pain was indescribable. Like your entire insides had been ripped apart, burning, splitting, bleeding. âI know, just hold on, okay?â Her voice cracked badly.
She ran with you, gun still raised, still firing behind her. You felt the cold metal ramp beneath you as Natasha threw herself onto the aircraft, clutching you close. âGet us out of here!â she roared. The helicopter lurched. You barely registered it. All you could feel was pain. Someone was grabbing at you, pressing too hard on the wound.
âS-Stop..â you whimpered, the pressure making you see stars. Natasha snapped. âBe careful!â
âWeâre trying to stop the bleeding!â a medic barked back. Natasha was breathing too fast. âSheâs losing too much blood-â
âWe know!â Your fingers trembled, reaching out. You didnât even realize what you were doing until Natasha grabbed your hand. Her grip was tight and desperate. You tried to squeeze back, but you were too weak. That was when you saw it. The look in her eyes. The pure, unfiltered fear. Natasha was scared. Not of the bullets. Not of the mercenaries.
But of losing you. âNatâŠâ You barely got the word out. âShh, itâs okay..â she whispered, pressing her forehead against yours. âDonât talk. Just stay with me.â Your breath hitched. Everything was spinning. The medicâs voice faded. Your eyes fluttered shut.
Your body felt heavy. Everything ached. The dull beeping of a heart monitor filled the room. The scent of disinfectant burned your nose. You blinked against the blinding white light, your brain foggy, sluggish. Then, you heard her. âYou better wake up soon, because if I did all of that for nothing, I swear to God-â
Her voice shook. Your lips parted. âNat..?â The chair beside your bed screeched as someone jumped up. Hovering over you, her eyes wide, raw, frantic. âOh my God.â You barely registered the way her hand grabbed yours, gripping it like she was afraid youâd disappear. You blinked up at her, throat dry. âWhereâŠ?â
âYouâre in a hospital.â she said, her voice hoarse. You could tell sheâd been awake for a long time. Your brows furrowed. âHow long?â
Natasha hesitated. ââŠThree days.â Your breath hitched. âThree..?â
âYou almost died, Y/N.â Her jaw clenched. âDo you have any idea how stupid that was?!â Ah. There it was. The anger. The Romanoff rage. You offered a weak smile. âSaved your life, though.â Her eyes flashed. âDonât.â
âDonât what?â
âDonât joke about this!â Her grip on your hand tightened. You swallowed, watching her. Because beneath the angerâŠShe looked wrecked. Dark circles under her eyes. Hair a mess. Still wearing the same clothes from the extraction. âHave you even left this room?â you asked quietly. She exhaled sharply, avoiding your gaze.
You sighed, shifting slightly, then immediately regretted it. White-hot pain tore through your stomach, forcing a shaky breath from your lips. Natashaâs head snapped back toward you. âHey, hey-â She reached out, pressing a hand against your shoulder to keep you from moving. âDonât do that. Just..stay still.â
ââŠNatasha.â you murmured. âItâs not your fault.â Her jaw tightened. âYes, it is.â Guilt..The Romanoff Way of Suffering She stood up, pacing.
âYou were supposed to be safe. You were supposed to be on the helicopter. Not..Not bleeding out in my arms..â You watched her. âYou saved me.â you pointed out.
She let out a bitter laugh. âYeah? And look at you now.â You exhaled, trying to push through the pain. âYou would have died.â you said softly. âThat guy was gonna kill you, Nat.â
Her eyes snapped to you. And something cracked. âThen maybe I should have let him.â Your stomach dropped. âNo.â
She shook her head, running a shaky hand through her hair. âI should have protected you. I should have been faster. I should have-â
âStop.â She froze. You struggled to sit up, ignoring the way your body screamed in protest. âNatasha, look at me.â
She did. Her expression was so raw, so pained. âYou think I regret saving you?â you whispered. She swallowed, lips pressed together. You reached out, grabbing her wrist. âYou think Iâd rather be lying in a grave than here?â She exhaled sharply. ââŠYou almost were.â
âBut Iâm not.â you murmured. âBecause of you.â She looked away. You squeezed her hand. âNat.â Nothing.
âNatasha.â Her jaw tensed. Finally, after what felt like forever, she turned back. And the moment she met your gaze, something inside her broke. Because suddenly, her arms were around you. Holding you so tight it should have hurt, but you didnât care. You felt her shudder.
âHey..â you murmured, pressing your face against her shoulder. âIâm okay.â She shook her head. âYou almost werenât..â
âBut I am.â She let out a shaky breath. Her grip didnât loosen. You hesitated, then turned your head slightly, whispering against her skin. âIâd do it again.â
She stiffened. Then, she pulled back, her eyes burning. âIf you ever do something that reckless again, I will personally kill you myself.â
You grinned. âI swear to God, Y/N-â You grabbed the front of her jacket and kissed her.

introducing⊠dadâs best friend!chris x reader

warnings: unprotected p in v (DO. NOT. DO. THIS.), no use of y/n, reader has daddy issues, chris is 33 and has a daddy kink, a little dirty talk, dumbification if you squint. oh and also dad!chris.
âso you have kids? you look like one yourself but⊠maybe iâm just flattering you. but you gotta be at least 18 to be at the airport alone and youâve got a vertical ID so youâre at least 21.â the bartender speaks, continuing to shake your drink all around.
you chuckle and shake your head, leaning your chin further into your chin. âno i donât. iâm 23 thoughâŠi should probably get on that or something. i donât even got a boyfriend⊠just visiting my dad and his new family for the new years. you? any kids?â he sends you a smile as he places the drink in front of you, tasting it from a straw before handing it off. âwhat is this again?â you ask, furrowing your brows as you take a sip.
the man across the counter chuckles as he grabs another drink ticket, making the beverage all while conversing with you. âi call it the chris. named after the best damn bartender this place has ever known. me. duh. but yes. i got a son. heâs 4. his names owen.â
âhe probably looks up to you. donât screw him up. but with all that aside, how can you be so sure of that?â you whisper, licking your lips as you grab the drink from the counter once more.
âiâve been workin here since i was 18 years old. first 3 years i was only washing dishes but ive seen a good amount of bartenders come and go. i know im the best bartender thatâs ever been here. 15 years of evidence.â his voice is more confident than cocky. a kind of attitude youâd kill to be in bed with. you hum in acknowledgment, looking at your suitcase besides you as the airport PA begins to speak again. the words are incomprehensible, but chris seems to understand them. some flight is leaving from gate B17.
âyou think itâs weird or pathetic or something if im drinking at an airport bar at 2pm to avoid seeing my father?â you question, stirring the drink around with the small plastic straw.
âiâve seen people here blackout drunk at 11am. i think youâre fine. whatâs your name again, kid?â he asks, his lips parting as he pours a beer for a man besides you. you give him your name and he hums, handing you a piece of chocolate from behind the bar. âi think kid suits you better.â you furrow your brows at the gesture, reluctantly taking the sweet. âkid, just take it. itâs a piece of chocolate. no harm done if you take it. you donât even gotta eat it. just get that look off your face. you look sad. youâre too pretty to look that sad.â
you blush at his words, popping the chocolate into your mouth. you slide your empty glass back across the bar, sending the bartender a smile- a real smile- and thank him honestly. âwhat time does your shift end?â you question, noticing another bartender begin to settle in.
âmy shift? the second that you tab out. you want another and keep enjoying my company or you gonna head to your dadâs house?â he teases, washing the glass you handed to him. you shake your head and sigh, sitting up straight. âshould probably head home. can i get the tab?â you whine, leaning your arm and head on the marble counter.
ânah i got it. get outta here. go see your dad. be nice to him.â he smiles, clocking out for the day. you slowly walk away, hesitantly pulling your bag with you.
when you finally make it out of the airport after an excruciatingly long walk, you let out a sigh. you knew you had four options. call a cab, call an uber, call one of your high school friends, or call your dad. you take a moment outside to gather your thoughts, only being brought back to reality when you bump into somebody behind you.
âshit iâm so sorry!â you groan, turning to profusely apologize to whoever was the victim. you smile when you notice that itâs chris. âoh. you again. following me are you?â you tease, poking at his shoulder.
âwhy you still here?â he questions. even though he hardly knew you, he felt like he still had an authority over you for no reason other than he was older than you by 10 years. you shrug as you let out a sigh, looking around. âi just donât wanna see him yet. i mean⊠i dunno.â
chris sends you a look of remorse but then pulls you into a tight hug, one you clearly needed. he rubs a hand over his mouth before speaking. âyou trust me enough to come back to my place? just till you feel good enough to go to your dads.â the look you gave him made him practically collapse.
your back was arched to a point that you didnât even know you could reach. your face was buried into a pillow that was most definitely being stained with your mascara. âtake it. thaaaaatts a good girl. take that dick. fuck youâre so tight.â chris speaks, his pants getting heavier with each of his thrusts. heâs holding your hands behind your back while youâre pushing yourself back onto his dick. itâs practically impossible for him to go any deeper into you, but you try to get him farther anyway. his grip on your wrists tightens when you let out another one of your whines. he can tell that youâre trying to spit out a sentence but that youâre unable to based on the cockdrunkness youâre experiencing. all you manage to achieve is a âc-cummingâ and even that comes out all whiney and in chrisâs words âpathetic.â âyâgonna cum? fuck yeah youâre gonna cum. come on, pretty. cum all over daddyâs cock.â he whispers into your ear, leaving a mark on your neck as he lets go of your hands. your orgasm takes over your body, and any control of yourself you had left is out the window. you squirm and shake while chris is just smirking behind you, continuing his thrusts. he pulls out once youâve settled down, spurts of cum falling onto your ass and lower back.
chris isnât an asshole. he helps you clean yourself up and look presentable enough to go visit your dad. he even offered to drive you, but you refused because of how close it was. the arrival at your dads house was⊠fine. his new wife was fine and his four year old son was fine. it was all just fine. you could tell your dad tried cheering you up multiple times but it never worked.
the next day was the same shit, different day. you had to get through the day acting like you liked your step mother, had to get through the day acting like you tolerated children, and had to get through the day acting like your father didnât hurt you when he left 6 years ago. youâre half tempted to go to the airport just to go to the bar. a knock on the door catches your attention, only furthered when your dad calls out to you. âhey honey can you get that? that must be your brothers friend and his dad, weâre buddies!. i invited them over for lunch!â he yells, to which you comply to almost immediately.
you open the door slowly, your eyes adjusting to the brightness of the outside world. a breath gets stuck in your throat when youâre met with the same eyes you saw at the bar. chris, whose eyes are about to pop out of their sockets, covers his sons ears as he speaks for both of you. âshit.â
a/n: new au who cheered! i did! i did! i finally get to write for chris thank GAWD cause as a chris girl i sure write a lot for matt.

To the extent that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is deliberately and consciously About any one thing, it is about growing up. Specifically, it is about Buffy herself growing up. Moving beyond her childhood and her teenage years and becoming an adult.
And -- not always, but very often -- the metaphor that the show keeps coming back to for growing up is death and dying. Buffy's childhood friend Ford dies, and Buffy and Giles talk about growing up while waiting by his grave ("I'd like to stop," Buffy admits, just before Ford, now a vampire, bursts out of his grave). Buffy's mother dies young -- barely over forty -- and Buffy is forced to grow up again ("Who's going to be [Mom] if I'm not?" she asks her sister Dawn, her idealized childhood self made flesh, "Who's gonna take care of us?")
Buffy herself dies twice, and climbs out of a grave in a symbolically important way three times (in Nightmares, in Bargaining and in the very literally titled Grave). Buffy's main enemies on the show, especially during the high school seasons, are vampires -- forever young immortal creatures that refuse to die, but which "she alone" has the power to kill -- and Buffy can only defeat the Master by accepting the inevitability of her own death. The act of dying at the Master's hands both makes her more powerful ("I feel strong," she says after being revived, "I feel different") and also enables her to meet other people like herself (first Kendra, then Faith). Death is her gift, you might argue.
Another thing the show regularly associates with adulthood is money, particularly for Buffy. As a child, money isn't something that Buffy herself worries about, except abstractly: in School Hard she complains about spending a large fraction of her allowance on a new cream rinse that turns out to be "neither creamy nor rinsey", and in Homecoming she'll rue that she spent "a year's allowance" on a now ruined dress, but these allowances never actually run out. There is always money for new dresses.
Money is something for Buffy's parental figures to worry about. Joyce admits to "dreaming about bills" in The Puppet Show. Her father chooses his job over her in Helpless because "his quarterly projections are unravelling ... he can't afford to take off right now". It's Joyce, rather than Buffy, who worries about how she'll pay her way through college in Choices ("I know we can make it work if your father pictures in", she says, in what in hindsight seems like hopeless optimism) and it's Joyce who will be paying the bill for all the expensive textbooks Buffy buys in The Freshman ("I hope it's a funny aneurysm," Buffy says, which probably means nothing). And [whatever you think about Giles being paid], this is why Buffy insists on Giles being restored as her Watcher in Checkpoint, "reinstated at full salary", but doesn't think to argue for any salary for herself. Buffy doesn't get paid. Even at this stage of the show, money isn't something she has to worry about.
So, after Buffy dies for the second time and is brought back into the world again -- after she is forced to live in the world as an adult, and permanently take over the role of her mother -- it's no wonder that suddenly money becomes important to her. Not just important, but real, in a way it never was before. Those bills Joyce was dreaming about in Season 1 are Buffy's bills now.
And this is also why Buffy's friends can't just bail her out. Why Willow and Tara plan to go on living in her house without paying rent. Why all the gang come to offer her (moral) support when she starts her "subsistence level employment" in Doublemeat Palace, but don't think to actually pay her for the food they order. More than that, it's why Buffy doesn't ever think to ask for rent, and why she tells Xander his burger order is "on me" before he ever admits to looking to get a free meal, why the only person to give her financial assistance is her former Watcher (and now fellow adult) Giles.
Because her friends haven't gone through everything Buffy has. "It's kind of a Slayer thing", you might say. Unlike her, they haven't died. They haven't had to claw their way back to life from out of their own grave, into a world where everything is suddenly "hard and bright and violent". They haven't been forced to grow up yet. They don't know what it's like, and (as Buffy herself says in a different context), it's important to her that "they can never know". They're still kids. They're not in hell. Money isn't real to them yet.
#btvs#it's not a coincidence that Anya starts to care about money in Season 5; the same season she becomes aware of her own mortality

Sam stood next to Tara as she got patched up in the ambulance. Sam couldnât believe she made it out without another stab wound and that Tara only got stabbed in the shoulder. Her eyes drifted across the way to see you in the back of another ambulance, getting stitched up once again. It seemed you had been right; you tore open all of your stitches, again.
Chad was standing next to you, seeming to talk rather animatedly as he gestured around crazily with his arms. Sam was sure that when they got outside, theyâd find Chad in a puddle of blood, but they didnât, he had been completely fine. When Chad hadnât been able to get ahold of Mindy, he said he went to go inside but the doors were all locked, so he ran to the nearest police station. By the time they were leaving the building police and medics were already waiting, a few minutes earlier and maybe Bailey and the others would have been arrested instead of dead.
âYou know,â Tara said, interrupting Samâs thoughts. She looked to see her sister was all patched up and now had a simple makeshift sling as she hopped down from the ambulance. âTheyâre not so bad,â she nodded in your direction. Sam followed her sisterâs gaze and couldnât help but smile. âI think you picked a good one.â
Sam let out a breathless laugh. She knew Tara was right, you were one of the good ones. They didnât lose anyone with you by their side, you ended up getting the most hurt out of all of them in fact. Sam didnât even want to know where theyâd all be without you, she certainly didnât think theyâd make it out and she didnât think she could handle losing any of them.
âI almost got them killed,â Sam said. She couldnât see why youâd ever stick around; no one was crazy enough to put up with her after seeing her life. She figured youâd return to North Carolina and go back to your special ops missions; you were clearly quite good at it after all.
Tara scoffed and Sam looked back at her sister just in time to see her rolling her eyes. âYouâre ridiculous,â Tara said. âThey almost died for you!â She gestured at you. Sam furrowed her brow; Tara said the same exact thing she just did but in a different tone. Sam couldnât figure out how it was any different, she was pretty sure you almost dying for her and her almost getting you killed meant the same thing.
âTheyâre still here,â Tara said slower as if that would make Sam understand better. Sam guessed it was obvious she was still confused because Tara threw her head back and let out an exaggerated groan. âThey know everything,â she gestured widely. âAnd they still stayed.â
âThey had a whole life before me.â Sam watched as the medic finished stitching up another one of your wounds.
âAnd you could be a part of it.â
âI donât-â
âYou deserve to be happy Sam.â Sam snapped her head towards her sister in shock, Tara sounded so confident when she said that. âYou just got to take the chance:â
Sam sighed and looked back over at you. You stayed, you got hurt protecting her and her friends. Not to mention the fact that you also killed two people for her, probably would have done all three but you let her have Bailey. You didnât need that kind of drama in your life, you could go back to your own life before you ever met her. Sam wasnât even sure what a relationship with you would even look like. She worked two jobs to pay for the apartment and Tara would always be her priority. She would be stuck working dead end jobs because she never went to college, she barely got her high school diploma, but you were exceptional, you were smart and strong, you were a hero.
âHey,â Chad said as he jogged up to the sisters. âI just got off the phone with Mindy.â
âIs she okay?â Tara asked. Sam watched Chadâs face with worry, they didnât know anything besides the fact that Quinn apparently stabbed her. Chad had been asking for information on his sister since they got outside, several people said theyâd learn what they could.
âYeah,â Chad nodded. âSheâs at the hospital, she said Gale also made it.â Sam couldnât help but let out a sigh of relief, her and Gale may have had their differences, but she certainly didnât want to see the woman die, Gale didnât deserve that. âI was going to head down there now; did you want to come with?â
Sam opened her mouth to say yes, she wanted to see Mindy and even Gale for herself. She wanted to be able to tell Gale that they got them, that it was finally over. The words never came out though as her eyes drifted back over to you. Chad whipped his head back and forth looking between you and Sam, when she finally turned back to answer Chad he was giving her a knowing smile.
âTheyâre okay,â Chad said without even being asked. âGiving the medics a hard time.â
Sam couldnât help but let out a small chuckle and roll her eyes. That definitely seemed accurate, they were probably trying to give you the best care possible while you insisted you were fine. Sam was sure the only reason they didnât take you to the hospital was because you, once again, denied doing so.
âBut you should talk to them,â Chad continued. Sam raised an eyebrow at that, she knew how much Chad liked you. Only one conversation and you had Chad vouching for you and had him telling you all about them, probably when you didnât even ask. âThey seem great!â He smiled innocently.
Sam rolled her eyes again; between Chad and her sister she didnât know what sheâd do. âWeâll meet you at the hospital in a bit,â Sam finally said. Chad nodded and ran off to a police officer who seemed willing to give him a ride.
Sam looked up just as you smiled and thanked the medic as she packed up her supplies. She looked back to her sister who gestured at her to go over to you. Sam sighed and made her way towards you. She had talked to you plenty of times, it wasnât until you almost died trying to save her life, but since then it seemed like the two of you shared a lot. You talked about your past, Sam talked about hers, the two of you even shared a kiss when you spent the night. None of that meant you wanted anything more, if anything youâd probably want nothing to do with her.
âHey,â you said as you hopped out of the ambulance.
âAre you okay?â Sam asked. She looked you up and down, her eyes seemed to only go to the injuries she knew you had and a the blood covering your shirt. She knew most of the blood couldnât have been yours, it was most likely from Quinn and Ethan.
âYeah,â you shrugged as if everything that happened to you was no big deal. âWhat about you?â Your brow scrunched up as your eyes searched her face. Sam hadnât even been stabbed and yet you were asking if she was okay. âAnd your sister,â you nodded at something behind her and Sam glanced back to see Tara watching the two of you.
Sam rolled her eyes; Tara was relentless when she made up her mind about something. âSheâll be okay, has to wear the sling for a few day.â
You let out a knowing hum. âAnd Chad said Mindy and Gale made it. Guess everyone made it out,â you smiled.
âOnly thanks to you.â You scoffed and let out a little chuckle as if you didnât actually believe Samâs words. âIâm serious.â You rolled her eyes, still clearly not ready to accept what Sam was telling you. âHey,â without thinking Sam reached out and caressed your cheek which you almost instinctively leaned into. âYou saved us, there is no way all of us would have made it out, especially with most of us unscathed.â
You gave her a soft smile, finally seeming to accept the fact that you wouldnât win this argument. The two of you fell into a comfortable silence and Sam couldnât help but get lost in your eyes as they stared into her own. âYour sister is staring at us,â you whispered, never taking your eyes off of Sam.
Sam felt her face heat up at that, she should have known youâd notice, you proved to be rather observant. âSheâs making sure I talk to you,â Sam admitted.
âAbout anything in particular?â Your mouth twitched up in a smirk, as if you knew what Tara wanted Sam to talk to you about.
âI justâŠâ the words got caught in her throat as she stared into your eyes. She couldnât believe the person who was looking at her with so much cared had just killed two people, had killed them for her.
âJust what?â you rasped out. Sam wasnât sure when she got so close to you, she had heard you as if you were the only two in the world.
Sam shook her head and pushed out all the voices telling her this was a bad idea and that you could still hurt her. She didnât hesitate as she shot forward, catching your lips in a surprising kiss. She felt you stiffen but before she could pull away you grabbed her by the waist, pulling her closer, deepening the kiss. Sam couldnât help but smile into the kiss, it was even better than the first one and this time she didnât intend on stopping you.
Eventually the two of you did have to breakaway because both of you needed to catch your breath. Sam couldnât remember the last time she smiled so much, she bit her lip as she looked up at you shyly, as if she hadnât just been to make the first move. She didnât ask permission; she just went for it and the soft smile on your face was making her want to do it all over again.
âMy lifeâs a mess,â Sam blurted out, but this time she was smiling as she spoke. âAs youâve seen,â she gestured to the chaos around them. âBut, would you maybe,â Sam couldnât help but bite her bottom lip as she was suddenly unable to look you in the eye. âWant to go out sometime?â
Sam glanced up through her lashes and was met with your soft smile. âIâd like that,â you said.
Sam smiled; it had been a long time since she asked someone out. She almost felt like she was back in high school, having her first crush. You gently put your finger under her chin and tilted her head up, so she was looking into your eyes again. Both of you couldnât seem to help but smile as you leaned in for another kiss.
You broke the kiss quicker than Sam would like this time; she wanted to chase after your lips, but it was clear you had something you wanted to say. âMaybe Iâm overthinking and rushing this,â you whispered. âMaybe our first date will go horrible, and you wonât want another.â Sam couldnât help but silently chuckle at that, she didnât think that was possible. âBut Iâm not easy to be with.â Sam furrowed her brow at that.
âIâm military, if Iâm not deployed, Iâm in North Carolina, I only get to come back home, to here, when Iâm on leave, maybe a weekend, if Iâm lucky,â you sighed, you seemed to really be stressing how little you would actually physically be able to be in the same place at Sam. âA lot of people donât want to put up with that. Youâre trying to lessen the complications in your life, I donât want to add to it.â
Sam rested a hand on the side of your face, you closed your eyes as you leaned into her touch and Sam couldnât help but smile at the sight. âI donât think either of us can make any promises, or that we should,â Sam said. âBut Iâm willing to try.â You gave her what she could only describe as a relieved smile, as if you expected her to back down. âLetâs just live in the moment and take it day by day.â
âI like the sound of that.â You smiled and it seemed like you were about to lean in for another kiss, which Sam was more than happy to meet in the middle when the two of you were interrupted by someone calling out Samâs name.
Sam furrowed her brow and turned to see Kirby being wheeled out on a gurney. âOh my god,â Sam yelled and ran to Kirbyâs side. âYouâre alive!â
âIâm so glad while I was bleeding out, you two were making out,â Kirby mumbled, slightly drowsy from the drugs the medics gave her, or the blood loss.
âWe werenât the ones and who got ourselves shot,â you snarked.
âHey,â Kirby pointed a finger at you, leaning up from the gurney slightly. âRemember who gave you that gun.â Samâs eyes widened, she completely forgot you had a gun, one you didnât tell her about. âAnd it seems it came in handy.â
âWhatever,â you rolled your eyes and waved her off. âWeâll stop by and visit in a bit.â
Kirby nodded, seeming to get more sleepy the longer she laid there. âYou did good sergeant.â You smiled at that and nodded for the medics to continue on towards the ambulance.
Sam crossed her arms as she stepped in front of you. She raised an expectant eyebrow at you, and you just tilted your head, as you pretended to be confused. âYou failed to mention Kirby gave you a weapon,â Sam said.
âThe less people who knew the better,â you defended. Sam scoffed; she couldnât believe you were trying that with her. âAnd look, your sister is coming over,â you gestured to the side, effectively changing the subject as Sam glanced over and saw Tara was indeed walking over.
âSo, you two together now?â Tara asked as a greeting.
âNo!â Sam denied, she was sure her face was bright red after that. âWeâve barely known each other three days.â It felt like she had known you a lot longer than that, even if she didnât count the longing stares she gave you at the gym the last three months. âBut, we are going on a first date.â
Tara rolled her eyes. âGuess thatâs something,â she mumbled. Sam smacked her sister in the arm and nodded towards you. Tara gave a dramatic roll of her eyes again. âYou did good,â she nodded at you. âTotal badass.â Sam closed her eyes and let out a long sigh, that wasnât exactly what she had in mind. âAnd thanks for saving our lives,â Tara mumbled under her breath.
You took it well though and just quietly chuckled at her sister. âYou werenât so bad yourself,â you said.
âCome on,â Sam said, giving you and Tara a tired smile. âLetâs go check on Mindy and Gale.â
The three of you walked away from the flashing lights and the chaos all of you just survived. Sam couldnât help but smile as her hand brushed against yours, until you took the initiative and took her hand within your own. She glanced at you out of the side of her eye and saw you looking ahead, the only evidence that you knew what you did was the smirk on your face.
âSo,â Tara said, interrupting the peaceful silence. âHow many dates do the two of you have to go on before I can meet the dog?â
Sam chuckled to herself; she should have known that would be a thing. The second Tara learned you had a dog her face lit up. Sam wasnât sure she wanted to see your dog again; she was still a bit intimidated but based on the smile on your face and the way Tara was looking at her, she had a feeling sheâd be seeing a lot more of the dog.

Fake Dating | Slytherin Boys
type :: fluff
tw/cw :: none
contains :: draco, tom, mattheo, theodore, lorenzo
notes :: fake dating is the FUEL TO MY LIFE AHHH slightly inspired by "please please please" by Sabrina Carpenter because ofc it is
DRACO MALFOY
He's bullied you for ages, literally making your high school years hell
But after his father and mother pressure him with questions about a girlfriend
He gets sick of it and wants to shut up for ONE NIGHT just one fucking night
So he gets you to pretend to be his partner, because you're the only girl willing to say yes (because ur scared of him)
Corners you and threatens you, "If you don't give me an Oscar worthy performance I will literally burn all of your uniforms and books"
Now you're at his house, eating expensive steak under 3 chandeliers
No one knows why he has 3 chandeliers,,, not even his parents
But instantly, his parents love you for your nerdiness and cuteness
They see you as a sweet and innocent little partner for Draco :)
But uh oh... you were TOO perfect for his parents
Now Draco is asking you to go with his parents to Germany for a "little trip"
Except their idea of a "little trip" is a week vacation in the most expensive hotel and meeting German celebrities
You can't speak German, but Draco can so he helps answer any questions asked towards you
But for some reason, he gets super agitated as you keep attending parties and people keep coming up to you
He gets so mad on the second-to-last-day of the week vacation to the point he grabs some random guys collar and shouts at him
You pull try to pull them apart but it's too late...
Draco gets his ass whooped... Badly... Embarrassingly bad...
You leave the party early, going back to the hotel alone as you patch his wounds
That's when you ask why he was so upset
But he refuses to answer, saying it's just that the guy was annoying
It's obvious that he's lying, so you keep pushing him and pushing him
So he angrily blurts out: "Because people keep fucking asking for your number!!! GOD!!! You're so dense!"
He says as he lightly flicks your forehead before staring deeply into your eyes: conveying everything he's been feeling for you for these past weeks of "fake dating"
TOM RIDDLE
Mattheo is Tom's worse enemy, despite being brothers
Yet again, Mattheo teases and mocks Tom for being a loser with zero "rizz" or whatever that means
He's sick of Mattheo's stupid ass slang, everyday he hears "you're a beta" "ur aura is so low" "zero rizz bruh"
He's literally going to kill him
But sadly he can't do that, so he comes up with a different solution
He chooses you, a random kid he did a project with once, to pretend to be his new partner
You were hesitant but he then threw in an extra bonus, he would do all your homework for two classes of your choice
So obviously you had to take it
He had to prepare you for the worse: Mattheo
Tom forced you to visit his dorm to study how to reply to Mattheo when you finally meet him
He also made you study how to act like a couple in public
Which he knew nothing about... He was technically right about hand holding and matching clothes
But his version of hand holding was very uncomfortable, the type where you don't interlock fingers
And the clothes he picked were ugly as hell, no way you'd ever wear that stuff
So you had to help him a lot with learning how to act natural in relationships
When he feels that you're finally prepared, he lets you meet Mattheo
Mattheo is super sus at first but is too dumb to question harshly
But now, you're stuck as pretending to be Tom's girlfriend for the rest of the year
He's painfully unaffectionate in public which makes you slightly embarrassed because he makes you look like a clingy girlfriend
But in private, when he's teaching you what to say and doing your homework: he's surprisingly sweet
He gets better at being a boyfriend over time and even takes you on full dates, not just fake photoshoots to post online
But he's still insisting to keep this relationship as just beneficial, no string attached
You can't help but start to fall for him, it's literally impossible to not
He gifts you everything you've ever wanted, takes you to fancy places, making him chuckle under his breathe feels more rewarding than any A+ ever, and those small private moments where you can feel a soul behind his eyes instead of the ice cold make you love him
So you cut it off with him, lying and saying you don't need the benefits and it's too hard to keep lying
He accepts this and lets you go
You end up being really popular once you're single
And that pisses him off ENDLESSLY
He found you first! He basically made you! You're still his, he can't let someone take all his hard work
And for some reason,,, he felt hollow after you left - as if he lost something dear to him
He's not sure how you brought out these emotions, but he wants it back ASAP
MATTHEO RIDDLE
Oh my god double trope: because Mattheo started dating you because he was dared to
You're seen as a kinda bitch in Hogwarts because a group of girls said so
But in reality, you're really chill and grounded, which surprised Mattheo when he went on your first date
You made him laugh a few times (a lot, he's too cocky to admit it)
And you also were really similar to Mattheo, you liked the same games and shows
As he kept pretending to date you, he started to actually like you and your presence
But he's still not too attached because he knows he needs to break up with you in about 2 months
As the weeks pass by, you accidentally read a message for Mattheo
It was from Theo, saying "Jesus dude, you two almost seem like a real couple. You should try acting haha"
You froze but started to plot your revenge on him
You kept acting like everything was fine and normal, and then broke up with HIM
Mattheo was shocked, because not only has he completely fallen for you but he's also never been broken up with
He unsure of what to do, but all he knows is he wants you back
THEODORE NOTT
Pulling girls has almost never been a problem for Theo his entire life
He even pulled grown women while being 14 years old (he's a victim...)
But his main problem is pulling a girl that would be approved by his parents
Theo surrounds himself with heavy drinkers, partiers, and dumb jocks: meaning there's not many partners that are "marriage material"
So he asks you, the Head Girl of your house, to pretend to be his girlfriend for family events
You agreed due to the large sum of money he was paying you, it's insane how rich he is
Every time Theo had a family event, he would just call you up and BOOM his family loves you
But as you keep coming to these family events, acting as a couple becomes less and less awkward for you both
You both agreed to not kiss each other due to this just being acting, plus kissing at family events is weird
But God, Theo really wants to break that rule when you and him are alone on the balcony at night while you ramble about the struggles of being Head Girl
He never thought he'd fall for the super nerdy, responsible, and awkward Head Girl - but he did, and he fell super hard
Theo wants to straight up ask you to be his real girlfriend, but he's so scared
He's scared of making you uncomfortable for catching feelings or making you think he planned this all along
LORENZO BERKSHIRE
Enzo's best friend is Blaise, almost everyone knows that
But what everyone also knows is that Blaise has the FATTEST crush on your best friend, Pansy Parkinson
And even more well known is that Pansy liked him back
There was literally no reason for these two to not get together, they were just too scared to confess
Which is odd since they're both so head-strong and confident, you guess it's just because they're scared of rejection
So Enzo reaches out to you, asking you to help come up with a plan to set them both up on a date
You two are complete strangers, only ever talking once or twice whilst in a group
So you both create a lie: that you and Enzo are going on a first date and need them to tag along to make it a "double date"
Obviously, this works on them because they're great friends
So now you and Enzo are on an awkward fake date while your best friends basically make out next to you
The original plan was just to tell Pansy and Blaise that there was no spark between you and Enzo
But due to you both spending an entire 12 hours together with Blaise and Pansy, you guys got comfortable with each others
He makes you laugh a ton and you do the same
You both love really niche topics and shows, even sharing the same favorite sports teams
Your bond only grows stronger after Blaise and Pansy ask for another double date
But you and Enzo take it slow, having the most sexual tension for months because you both were just claiming to be "friends only"
You finally broke that after about 4 months, thank God

Best Friends older sister Sevika headcanons

I've been obsessed with this idea for a second now. No one asked for this but I'm writing it anyway. This may have more than one part, we'll see. This is also, once again, not proofread.
Enjoy my lovelies! X
Notes: Modern AU, reader is a senior in high school and is 18, Sevika is a freshman at the nearest university and lives at home
Bsf's Sister!Sevika Who is honestly terrifying.
Her real arm is the size of your head and her metal one is a whole different story.
She's 6'1 and towers over almost everyone.
There's an energy about her- something in the way she carries herself and the look on her face- that has everyone cowering when she walks by.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika Who never once scared you.
It confused everyone around you two, especially her.
She was used to the effect that she had on everyone, liked it even. But you never saw her like that.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who lost her arm when she was twelve in the same car accident that killed her mom.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika whose dad was an engineer that originally worked on engines for machines but after his daughter was hurt started working on prosthetics.
He spent months building her first arm. He spent even longer than that working with scientists to build one that would respond to brain waves.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who gave up on finding someone to love her the moment she lost her arm. Kids are mean and most of them had never seen someone missing an arm before.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who started building muscle to look scary.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who figured that if she looked scary enough then people wouldn't make fun of her any more.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who met Silco and Vander one day in the gym and clicked with them.
They didn't care that she was missing an arm, they actually thought it was really badass.
For the first time in a while she had friends who actually cared and they became like her brothers.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who started smoking weed to help the pain from nerve damage.
She started selling it her junior year of high school and quickly began supplying most of the teenagers in town.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who tasted your baked goods for the first time and had what was either the best or worst idea of her life.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who split profit with you if you made your brownies, cookies, and cinnamon rolls a little special.
You said yes of course because she always sat with you in the kitchen and you liked spending time with her.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who always invites you to the parties she goes to but keeps her eye on you the whole time.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who has the biggest soft spot for you but won't admit it.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who catches herself falling for you and immediately starts beating herself up.
How could someone so sweet and angelic like you ever fall for her?
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who get's really quiet like she used to, trying to force herself to stop loving you.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who is walking past her sisters room one night when you're staying over.
Against her better judgement, she stands there at the door listening.
"I'm just saying, Sev gave up on finding someone a long time ago. Everyone is scared of her, that's the way she likes it. But you're not. I saw you two in the kitchen last week, before that party. I haven't seen her look genuinely happy in a long time. But you bring that part of her back."
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who is on the other side of the hall and in her room with the door slammed shut in five seconds flat.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who realizes she is helplessly in love with you.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who can't sleep that night so she goes down into the kitchen to get some water just to find you doing homework at the island.
Bsf's Sister!Sevika who watches from the doorway for a second before making herself known.
The second you see her she's met with the sweetest voice she's ever had the pleasure of hearing.
"Hi, Vika. What are you doing up?"
"I uh- couldn't sleep. Is that biology work?"
You nod with a small smile, pushing the textbook away. "I have a test Monday, wanted to get some last minute studying in."
She hums, nodding. "You'll do great, you always do."
Your smile widens and she thinks she has a heart attack. "Thanks Sev." Oh now she is definitely having a heart attack now.
Her body moves on its own, drawn to you like a magnet. She's walking towards you before she can stop herself. The logical part of her is screaming at her to stop- to turn around and go back up to her room and pretend this conversation never happened. But the emotional part of her, the part she hasn't let herself feel in so long, is far too addicting to shut out. She has you caged against the counter in seconds, not really sure of what she's doing.
She thinks she should stop but you're looking at her, wide-eyed, with the most loving expression she thinks she's ever seen and she just can't. Her real hand is cradling your jaw while her metal one braces against the counter. You look at her for a second longer before your voice comes out in an angelic whisper.
"It's okay."
And suddenly her lips are on yours. You don't waste a second kissing her back. Your own hands pull her in, one on her cheek and the other on the metal of her shoulder. She thinks she could sob at the way you hold her so gently. The way you don't care what she looks like, or the way she portrays herself. You see it, and you love all of it.
Books and movies always talk about kissing someone and sparks flying. They say that it's this big thing that's electric and fueled by passion. They're all wrong. Kissing Sevika feels like coming home. It's warm, and sweet, and so unbelievably loving that it suffocates you in the best way.
When she pulls away, she rests her forehead against yours, eyes still closed. She's afraid that if she opens them then she'll be back in her room and none of this will have happened. Your voice is what snaps her out of it.
"Sev-"
And then she's apologizing more than she has in her life.
"Fuck, I'm sorry- I shouldn't have done that. I'm so sorry-" Your lips cut her off. Any other time she'd be pissed, but she can't be. Not with you. Not when you're kissing her like she's the only person you've ever loved.
"Don't you dare apologize."
Her hands are on your waist, your hips, your thighs, anywhere she can reach. She can't keep them off of you. But yours wrap around her neck with just as much fervor, pulling her flush against you with more passion than you've ever had for someone.
===
Sooo needless to say a pt.2 is most likely coming. And it will most likely be very smutty because why not.

never leave (nevermind)

18+ mdni. canon compliant sorta kinda. takes place during the events of s4. violent scenes described. r and eddie are exes. reader gets vecna'd. lots of angst.
a/n: i've been writing this on and off for what feels like months and it's definitely noticeable in parts where my writing improves drastically. howeverrr, i've been wanting to write something s4 related for a while bc most of my fics are au's and as fun as they are, the canon material is also v fun (just very difficult to translate into a fic)
8.9k words.
being home for spring break meant one thing; avoiding eddie munson like the plague.Â
it wasnât exactly easy what with being practically neighbours but youâd certainly tried to make yourself invisible around the trailer park.Â
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă.
you hadnât seen him for eleven months, not even a trace of that wild hair until one friday night when his van screamed down the gravel road, music bleating loud enough for you to hear inside. youâd known it was d&d night, he still held the club at the high school and no doubt would still be in charge of it, even after he eventually graduates.Â
you shouldnât have even looked. itâs not like you wanted to see him. just curious as to why he felt the need to make so much noise so late at night.Â
thatâs when your eyes saw her, green hawkins high skirt and the fluffy ponytail to match, flouncing out of the van without a care in the world.Â
chrissy cunningham wasnât exactly who youâd imagined eddie would go for. she was prim and proper, wasnât into smoking weed and talking about ozzy osbourne but pom poms and cheer routines instead.Â
it shouldnât even hurt.Â
youâd been broken up for the best part of a year, away to college, living what was supposed to be your best life.Â
but it does.Â
pangs through your chest in insurmountable waves, rushing to duck down beneath the window before either of them saw you peeking.Â
you donât dare look out again, maybe it was the fear of being caught or more likely for fear of hurting yourself anymore.Â
eddieâs single, he can do what or whomever he likes.Â
slinking back into the couch, hoping the crackly tv would drown out any of the lingering thoughts.Â
a sharp, stabbing sensation rings through your head, squeezing your eyes shut in an attempt to shut it down.Â
only since youâd been back here, in hawkins had you felt it. people always whispered about how this town was cursed, perhaps it was you after all, bringing the bad luck to the innocent people of this shit hole.Â
you drag your feet along the corridor to your bedroom, deciding that being buried beneath your blanket was better than constantly punishing yourself with sly glances out the window.Â
-
a multitude of fists pummel at your door, sunlight just barely breaking through the clouds as your eyes open.Â
nothing in this world could be so important to cause this reaction, especially not at this time of the day.Â
you slink to the door, grumbling your way through the trailer.Â
the door swings open, revealing a very out of breath dustin henderson and max mayfield, looking frantic as they pant on your doorstep.Â
âwhat the hell? itâs nine am,â you grunt, wondering how the two even knew you were home.Â
being with eddie had meant youâd come to adopt the gaggle of kids he played d&d with, driving them to and from games, offering a place to stay when their parents thought they were at each others houses while they were actually fighting monsters.Â
the usual.Â
the monster stuff was secondary, getting thrown into the deep end last summer after what was supposed to be a shitty mall job to save up for college, had turned into slimy monsters trying to kill you.Â
eddie had only really seen the aftermath, the piles of what remained of starcourt on the floor and the cuts that littered your limbs. you had told him that night what had actually happened, terrified that the government were listening at your door, ready and waiting to throw you in jail for speaking about what youâd seen.Â
dustin had made it very clear that you had to be careful not to talk too openly about it, delving into the whole world that rumbled beneath your town.Â
you werenât exactly eager to relive that night in the mall, a haze of slobbering monsters and telekinetic little girls. putting it to the back of your mind as some weird fever dream, a symptom of living in hawkins.Â
âeddieâs in trouble,â dustin frowns, âis your mom here?â forcing himself into the trailer, max at his heels.Â
âno sheâs not-â closing the door behind the rude tweens, âiâm sorry- whatâd you say?â hoping youâd misheard him.Â
he peers down the hall, lousily checking the perimeter, âeddieâs in trouble,â completely serious.Â
âand what does that have to do with me?â putting your hands on your hips, hoping to display some sort of authority, though it rendered useless against their stubborn attitudes.Â
âremember the mall?â he deadpans, grabbing the phone from your wall as max pulls out a list of numbers.Â
âyeah? iâm still not.. whyâre you here? you canât help him at his trailer?âÂ
dustin sighs, long and exaggerated, âheâs not at his trailer. we donât know where he is,â aggressively punching in numbers, âand why didnât you tell me you were back? i thought we were friends!â ever the sarcastic little dweeb youâd always had a soft spot for.Â
âi didnât tell anyone,â shrugging as you slink into the kitchen, deciding that if they were going to stay, you were at least going to need coffee, âi still donât understand whatâs going on!âÂ
âweâll explain later,â max yells, fumbling around in her backpack.Â
you tut, relieved that the pounding in your head had subsided at least.Â
-
youâre somehow roped into driving the two to family video, receiving the details on the drive over.Â
cops had swarmed the trailer park by the time you were ready, piling into wayneâs trailer, talking in hushed voices and yelling at anyone that dared to leave their own homes.Â
wayne had come back from work this morning to find chrissy cunninghamâs body on his floor. limbs broken and her eyes weeping with blood.Â
any sane human would assume it was eddieâs doing. he didnât exactly hold the best reputation in this damned town, but you knew murder wasnât anything he was capable of.Â
âthat monster, from the mall,â dustin continues, leaning over the centre console, âthat has something to do with this, i know it,â speaking with such confidence that you had no choice but to believe him.Â
âhow do you know that?â you question wearily, pulling into the parking lot, âiâm not saying i donât believe you, but how do you know for sure?â
âwell,â he buffers, âi donât, but iâm 99.9 percent certain,â hopping out of the car before you can get another word in.Â
you contemplate just waiting in the car for them to be done with whatever the fuck it is theyâre even doing. not keen on seeing more people you really didnât want to.Â
you follow them in either way, ducking your head in some half-assed disguise.Â
â-dustin!â robin squeals, reaching out to grab his arm, âthose are my returns, you dweeb!âÂ
she and steve turn to you, perfectly in-sync, âwhen the hell did you get back?â speaking in unison. itâd be unsettling if you hadnât spent the entirety of last summer with them both.Â
you shake your head, âuh..â regretting your decision not to just wait in the car, âa few days ago.â
âand you didnât tell me?â robin huffs, thankfully distracted with the mess dustin was inflicting upon her store to chastise you too badly.Â
âsorry,â you say meekly, picking up the fallen tapes from the floor as a shitty kind of apology.Â
she smiles gently at you, before turning back to dustin with a seeding hatred in her eyes, âwhat are you little nerds even doing here? do you not have anyone else to piss off on a saturday morning?â
âeddieâs in trouble,â dustin repeats for what is probably the thousandth time today, holding the receiver up to his ear.Â
âoh eddie?â steve quips, âwhatâd he do this time?â
dustin holds his finger up to shush him, unloading his rehearsed spiel down the phone to whoever.Â
steve looks over to you for some clarity but you just shrug, not really any wiser on what was actually going than he was.Â
this goes on for what feels like hours, listening to dustin and max inquire about eddie to each and every person on their call list, just to end up with a dejected frown when absolutely nobody has heard from him.Â
ârick,â dustin nods, drumming his fingers against the desk, ârick! he said he was going to meet rick today! dâyou know where reefer rick lives?â swivelling in his chair to glare at you.Â
âreefer rick?â robin repeats with such disdain, itâd honestly have been nicer if sheâd just laughed in his face.Â
you shrug, âi donât know.. maybe?â offering absolutely zero insight whatsoever.Â
âyou know, you were only together for four years,â he snarls, doing nothing to help his cause.Â
âoh iâm so sorry that i canât remember every single place we went together,â you hiss back.Â
dustin eyes the empty computer and you can almost see the lightbulb go off above his head. tapping into the family video system as if he had any right to be here.Â
âyouâre not supposed to be on that!â robin hollers, reaching for the mouse though his hands are quicker.Â
âstop it!â he screeches, typing rapidly into the computer, âjesus christ, how many rickâs are there?â scrolling the plethora of rick names that had appeared.Â
he figures it out pretty quickly.Â
realising that reefer rick probably wasnât using the local video rental store to watch sixteen candles or risky business.Â
âyou know where that is?â he asks steve, tapping the address on screen.Â
âuh.. i think so,â steve wavers, squinting his eyes.Â
âgreat,â dustin shoots up, grabbing his backpack without a second thought, âyou drive,â pointing at steve, âyou follow,â turning to you, giving zero alternative or chance to protest before heâs out the door, tugging at the handle of steveâs car.Â
-
you do as he says, obviously. fearing that if he were to be left alone with robin for too long, she might just wring his neck.Â
eddieâs nowhere to be found, the house looks empty and his van isnât here leaving you back at square one.Â
âhe has to be here,â dustin frets, pointing at the large shed on the other side of the yard, âletâs just have a look.. you wanna find him donât you?â turning to you specifically.Â
a few years ago you wouldâve said yes with zero hesitation but now youâre not sure if you even care. the thought of seeing eddie again makes you a little nauseous. not even owing to the fact that he was a potential murder suspect.Â
âwhyâre you looking at me?â you scowl, âi think we should just leave this to the police.â
âno!â stopping dead in his tracks, âtheyâll kill him and you know that,â his eyes sharp as everyone falls into silence.Â
he was right, as he often is. which makes this all the more irritating.Â
you nod, gesturing for him to continue to the rundown shack behind the house.Â
thereâs nothing in there, at least no signs of one eddie munson.Â
it all just seems useless. if eddie had used the neglected brain in his head, heâd be far awayÂ
from hawkins by now. he was nifty enough to survive on his own, you were sure about that.Â
steve jabs at the tarpaulin as you peer out of the door and into the quickly darkening night sky, spinning rapidly as the tarp crinkles and something comes flying out.Â
eddie.Â
with his hands now pinning steve back against the wall, chest heaving with sheer, seething anger.Â
only dropping his hold on him when it registers who it actually is, eyes wide and startled.Â
a million and one feelings rush through your veins. you hadnât prepared to actually see him again, to now be stilled by the sight of him locking eyes with you.Â
the slow realisation dawns on him, quickly forgetting that he was a wanted man, all encompassed by your presence in this suddenly stifling shed.Â
steve gasps for air, breaking the tension and pulling the attention back to him. robinâs quick to soothe his arm while dustin launches into a quick scolding for eddie.Â
itâs not long before he moves onto the next phase of his master plan, dragging max to the corner to loudly discuss what they should do.Â
âwhenâd you get back?â eddie asks, leaning against the dusty wood panelling, âi havenât seen you..â his voice cracks but heâs unwavering.Â
good, you thought. though really it was all useless now.Â
âcoupleâa days ago..â picking at the wood splinter on the wall, âwhenâd you start murdering teenagers?â hoping it wasnât too harsh of a dig.Â
âha ha,â he deadpans, running his hand over his face, âyou donât think i did it, do you?â worry seeping through his tone.Â
you shake your head no, choosing to meet his eyes, a little reassurance that even if you did think he was a loser, you definitely didnât think he was a murderer too.Â
he nods, sighing into his palm, âfuck,â deflated, exhausted by the day he had endured, âtheyâre gonna kill me,â shrunken into himself, resembling a dejected little puppy.Â
âtheyâre not gonna kill you,â but your voice shakes a little, not unnoticed by eddie.Â
âyou donât sound so sure,â he chuckles, turning his gaze to the rotting floorboards. he looked horrible, to put it nicely. the bags under his eyes were dark and his hair an even wilder mess than usual.Â
âiâm not really,â refusing to lie to him, even now.Â
he looks up again, unwavering melancholy in his eye, âhowâd you find me?âÂ
you glance over at dustinâs busybody, passionately explaining the next steps to an exhausted looking steve, his hands gesturing for a fight. âhe tracked down rickâs address from family video and then wouldnât let us leave until we found you.âÂ
eddie grin grows, finding the motivation to get himself off of the dirty floor, âyeah.. sounds about right.âÂ
youâre too close for comfort now that youâre eye to eye, uncomfortably close while your relationship was still so fragile.Â
he breaks away first, striding over to dustin, âwhatâs the plan? i really need you to save my ass, dude.âÂ
dustin nods, vowing to keep eddie alive, no matter what it takes.Â
-
dustin doesnât hang around.Â
the minute the suns risen, heâs pounding on the bedroom door, waking the sleeping pile of limbs youâd collapsed in.Â
âiâm gonna kill him.. iâm gonna fuckinâ kill him,â robin grumbles, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, staring daggers at the door.Â
âeddieâs not answering!â he hollers, busting through the door, âwe have to go back to rickâs! now!â pulling at nancyâs arm, presuming that steve had told him no to driving him around this early.Â
you rouse just enough to really see the panicked look on his face, swinging your legs off of the bed to grab his shoulders, âwhat happened? we can go i just need five minutes.â
âheâs not answering,â panting between his words, âi told him to check in at six! itâs nearly six thirty.. somethingâs wrong.â
âokay,â you nod, trying to wake yourself up, âokay.. let me get dressed,â finding your discarded pants and practically jumping into them.Â
dustinâs in the passenger seat before you can even run a brush through your hair, only just able to brush your teeth before heâs got his fist on the horn.Â
âjesus christ dude,â you exclaim, shoving the keys into the ignition and speeding off before he has the chance to chastise you again.Â
youâre grateful that itâs still early and the chances of getting a ticket are slim because you most definitely had broken some kind of speed limit, but truthfully it was mostly to get dustin to shut the hell up.Â
knowing eddie meant that you knew he was probably fast asleep, ignoring the cracklings of the walkie for the sake of a couple extra minutes of shuteye.Â
you turn down the long wooded drive, wondering if rick was back yet and just how heâd react to eddieâs ex-girlfriend and some random kid showing up on his doorstep at seven in the morning.Â
youâre forced to slam on the breaks, almost sending dustin through the windscreen as eddieâs face appears before you, his hands slam the hood, screaming something nonsensical.Â
âohmygodohmygod,â he rushes, throwing himself into the backseat of your car, âyou need to drive!â
âwhat the hell happened?â dustin probes as you turn around, only now seeing the barrage of cars parked outside of the house.Â
âjason..â he gasps, âthose fucking meatheads he hangs around with.. they just showed up,â sliding down into the footwell just as jason rounds the corner of the house, yelling something about your car as you hightail the fuck out of there.Â
âthey.. they- they think iâm the devil or some shit,â eddie gasps, his petrified face appearing in the gap between your seats, âtheyâre fucking crazy man.. fuck!âÂ
your fingers tighten around the steering wheel, hoping to speed away before they got wise enough to follow you.Â
jason wasnât much but his lackeys would have zero issue beating the shit out of eddie, or you for that matter.Â
you instinctively go to the first place you can think of, which in hindsight seems like a mistake now the gravel is crunching beneath your wheels.Â
forest hills was still crawling with cops trying to determine who or what had killed chrissy, though thankfully at daybreak their presence seemed to have dwindled a little.Â
âwe should be okay here for a while.. stay in the car until i get the door open,â flashing him a harsh glare to make sure he really understands.Â
the three of you barrel into your trailer, grateful for the silence, unsure of how youâd ever explain this entire situation to your mom.Â
âshit man,â eddie marvels the walls, mouth hung open, âhavenât seen the inside of this thing for.. a while,â a sadness to his tone.Â
âyup,â choosing to ignore his glum cadence in favour of keeping the peace, âyou can sleep in my bed,â tossing your keys into the bowl.Â
âyou sure?â eddie asks, though heâs already making his way up the hall, all too familiar with your trailer.Â
âknock yourself out,â collapsing onto the couch to resume your own interrupted slumber. in a time not so long ago, youâd have relished crawling up next to eddie in bed, wrapping his arm around your shoulder to tuck you up under his armpit.Â
you brush off the glum feeling, wrapping your own arms around your body instead.Â
dustin gets to alerting the wheeler residence, informing them all that eddieâs okay and you were going to hang out here until he came up with some plan. Â
itâs almost noon before eddie rises again, asking if he can take a shower before dustin unleashes his plan.Â
that horrid buzzing niggles itâs way back into your brain. a dull pain that quickly becomes sharp, stabbing at the sides of your head.Â
âare you okay?â dustin questions nervously, ditching his notebook to step closer with caution.Â
your fingers clutch your temple, unable to form a coherent sentence as the pain throbs through your frontal lobe. features screwed up in searing pain.Â
âeddie!â he screeches, his fists pummelling against the bathroom door.Â
eddie emerges, towel slung around his waist, barely able to turn the water on yet, âwhat? what the hell is going on?â quickly shutting up when he sees your sorry state. âare you okay? what happened?â rushing over without a second thought.Â
dustin stands in horror just behind, watching as eddieâs thumb swipes the underside of your nose, coming back an unexpected shade of maroon.Â
âshe just dropped! i-i donât.. iâve never seen this before!â
âyouâre bleeding,â eddie fuses, âdustin.. tissue now,â tilting your chin upwards.Â
the pain subsides slightly, allowing your eyes to reopen and meet his, âthereâs.. tylenol in the drawer,â letting him keep your chin between his fingers.
dustin speeds around the room, collecting supplies as your laboured breaths become easier, the ache dissipating as quickly as it came on.Â
eddie dabs at your nose until itâs clean, shaking out two of the pills onto his palm for you to take. âwhat the hell was that?â nagging yet concerned all rolled into one.Â
âi dunno, iâve been getting these.. headaches, since iâve been back,â looking between dustinâs horrified face and eddieâs distressed one. âitâs probably nothing.âÂ
âthat didnât look like nothing,â dustin adds, still wary of your state. with all of the supernatural happenings at the moment, he had right to be.Â
âitâs fine,â shrugging them both off before the questions got too much. âwhatâs the plan dustin?â
he and eddie share another glance, pretending that you werenât right there in front of them. âuh..â erring the line of caution before jumping right into it, âokay so we need to go down.. down there.â
-
itâs stupid, reckless even.Â
but what other choice do you have when the world is caving in and your ex-boyfriend is on the run from the police?Â
eddie climbs through the window of the rv, pulling your eyes away with a quickness as his shirt rises up to reveal his lower back.Â
the door swings open some moments later, gesturing for you all to climb inside as he gets to hot-wiring the gargantuan vehicle.Â
you pile into the back, ducking below the windows while his fingers fiddle with the live wires.Â
âdo you even know what youâre doing?â nancy asks, her eyebrow raised in quiet concern.Â
ânancy please,â eddie huffs, âwhile your dad was teaching you how to ride a bike, my dad was teaching me how to hot-wire a car.. i know what iâm doing.âÂ
she hums, settling into the passenger seat without another word.Â
it shouldnât be attractive. you should think itâs utterly reprehensible to steal and engage with such criminal behaviour.Â
but you canât.Â
not with his tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth like that, his hands whirring away as robin looks on with a screwed up face.Â
the engine roars loud, alerting the entire trailer park to your existence. eddie hightails it into the back, choosing the empty spot next to you as he yells for steve to drive.Â
this all so ridiculous, flying about the back of the rv as steve speeds out of town. finding somewhere solitary for you all to prepare.Â
-
everyone seems to be in cahoots about something, scarpering from the rv the second you walk inside. leaving you and eddie to navigate through the uncomfortable tension alone.Â
you take a seat anyway, picking up the discarded knife on the table, running your finger along the dull blade with a sigh.Â
youâd never imagined that the two of you could ever be so awkward together, having been close for the entirety of your lives, it felt awful to not even want to look at him now.Â
âiâm sorry.. about chrissy,â you swallow, still sharpening the knife, hoping he wonât say something to make you drive it into his throat.Â
the rest of the group âprepareâ loudly outside. dustin screeching at the top of his lungs for steve to put him down while robin tuts in annoyance.Â
eddie looks up, a little glum, âyeah.. she was a good girl, she didnât deserve that,â dropping his own knife on the table in front of you with a clatter.Â
âi didnât realise you two were.. together or whatever,â the look on his face immediately forces you to regret your words, hoping the ground would just swallow you whole.Â
he scoffs, âtogether?â knocking his knee into yours softly, âyou thought we were together?âÂ
oh my god. itâs worse than you couldâve ever imagined. cheeks burning as your eyes meet his, âoh! i thought.. someone said.. i donât- i donât know,â clinging onto the knife with sweaty palms, deciding whether to slice your own mouth off so nothing else could fall out of it.Â
âshe was buying weed,â he laughs quietly, âpretty girl but.. not really my type, you know?âÂ
you nod, looking back at the table in hopes that heâd just drop it now. so much for being the nonchalant, cool ex. all youâd done is solidify your psycho status.Â
âi havenât really..â he begins again, never knowing when to leave well enough alone, âi havenât moved on, i guess,â shrugging as his own gaze slips.Â
if you were going to live through the end of the world, you hoped itâd come soon. the tension in this cramped rv was enough to make whatever was happening with the underworld seem like a dream.Â
âoh!â is all you can conjure up. unsure of what response he was expecting from you. the breakup had been amicable.. sort of. to you, it made sense to breakup. you were away to college and he was repeating senior year again. you had almost died in the town you grew up in, he hadnât.Â
it was a multitude of happenings that forced you apart. grief and itâs intertwining webs of despair had proved too much for your relationship. too much for you to handle on your own.Â
eddie hadnât agreed.Â
he couldnât understand it, why you needed out of hawkins so bad. but he wasnât there, hadnât seen the things you had.Â
the guilt had wrecked you for the first few months, afraid that youâd abandoned him in that very town for a new life after promising for so long that you wouldnât.Â
âsorry, i shouldnât have said that- i didnât mean anything by it,â he fumbles, pulling on his bottom lip, âwell i did! just.. not the time or place, you get me?â digging himself further into his hole.Â
your eyes meet his again, gnawing at the skin on your bottom lip, âitâs okay.. you donât have to explain yourself to me.âÂ
âi think what i meant to say was that i missed you.. iâm glad youâre back,â eddie coughs, un-jumbling his words at last.Â
itâs simple enough and really shouldnât make your heart swell the way it does. you werenât together. he wasnât yours. that was that.Â
but maybe thereâs something about experiencing the end of the world with someone that makes you a little reminiscent.Â
âi missed you too,â you smile, hoping that the overwhelming feeling of adrenaline is just from the interdimensional monster that lay beneath you and absolutely nothing to do with his doe eyes and plump lips.Â
his eyes flicker, trailing from your eyes to your lips. the air seems to shift around you, leaving the room at an expedient rate.Â
âyou missed me?â eddie growls, looking back into your eyes, âthen whyâd you leave me here?â a deep set frown forming on his lips that wasnât there a minute earlier.Â
âwhat?â you question, taken aback by his sudden change in demeanour.Â
âyou left me. you left me here to die after you told me you wouldnât,â he snarls, leaning closer.Â
his eyes are glossy now, glazed over with what looks like tears.Â
âi didnât.. no,â backing away from him, âyou were supposed to come with me.. you.. you..â shaking your head.Â
eddieâs eyes change completely now, pupils turning a slick grey. a dark cloud fills the room, overflowing out of the tiny window, covering the furniture and your body with the thick smog.Â
âitâs your fault,â the voice rumbles, no longer bearing any semblance to eddieâs, the walls decay in front of your eyes, wallpaper rotting as they crack and crumble.Â
âitâs your fault,â it repeats, louder this time, âheâs going to die,â it cackles, filling the room with the booming voice.Â
âno,â you scream into the void, thrashing around to find the source, âtake me! take me instead!â yelling as loud as your throat would allow, but itâs futile.Â
thereâs no one here.Â
eddie had gone. crumbled into a pile of ash on the floor, left on your own in some barren wasteland, the blood-curdling screams of menacing creatures travel through your body.Â
âyou canât save yourself,â the voice booms, pulling your eyes to the horrific humanoid figure stood amongst the ruins.Â
âwhat do you want?â you scream, stepping backwards over the rubble.Â
the man.. thing just smiles, âiâve been watching you for some time, you shouldnât have come back here,â walking towards your cowering frame.Â
âw-why? who are you?â fingers trembling as you attempt to grab onto something, anything to bring you back to earth.Â
everything you grasp crumbles into ashes, disappearing before your eyes as you struggle to breathe. wheezing through the dark clouds, not an inch of relief.Â
âweâve met before,â completely ominous, âyou donât remember me?â tilting his head to the side.Â
it feels like youâve seen it before, somewhere in a far away dreamland.Â
thatâs when it clicks.Â
the bad dreams youâd been having, there had always been something there, a presence you couldnât ever see clearly.Â
but now it makes sense.Â
âh-how did you do that? how did you get into my dreams?â the rubble beneath your feet disappeared with every step.Â
his head shakes and the landscape rumbles, a clattering of stones fall to the ground, jolting your body backwards.Â
âyou let me in,â he rumbles, stepping closer, âyouâre the reason any of this is happening.. itâs time for you to pay.âÂ
his spindly fingers reach out, forcing you further and further back until your foot catches against a stone, sending you flying backwards into a sudden abyss.Â
you awaken with a harsh gasp, eyes opening to find eddie towering above, his brows threaded together in fear as the others screech around you.Â
âsheâs awake! are you okay?â eddie rushes, holding your face between his palms, âoh my god,â as white as a sheet, shock rippling through his body.Â
you nod, blinking in the sudden bright light, exhausted from doing nothing at all. nothing felt real except eddieâs fingers brushing over your worn skin.Â
too tired for tears, too afraid to speak. your eyes shut on their own, trying to ground yourself back in this reality.Â
you relax into his hold, your breathing falling into line with his as their voices turn into humming background noise, focusing on the path of eddieâs fingertips instead.Â
-
eddie hadnât dared to leave your side, following you around like a lost puppy, watchful eyes widening every time you moved or breathed too loud.Â
it wouldâve felt suffocating if you werenât scared to death. instead, it was a welcome comfort. a sense of familiarity in the most awful time.Â
you felt immense guilt, knowing that the end of the world had to happen for you to speak to him again. the man youâd gotten married to a thousand times in your head, the man youâd had a plethora of baby names with. it was all so insane.Â
dustin hadnât exactly instilled much confidence in you. with news of fred benson and patrick mckinneyâs deaths, he had figured out the pattern of attack.Â
theyâd all died the same way, eyes burst and their limbs snapped one by one.Â
eddie had recalled how chrissy went into a similar trance, her eyes glossed over, completely unresponsive. though the moment heâd said it, his heart sank, realising that chrissy wasnât the only one heâd witnessed like that.Â
logically, that meant that you were next.Â
dustin had uncovered what was essentially a countdown to your death. nobody wanted to say it, or even acknowledge it, but you werenât stupid.Â
that meant that whatever plan he had, he had to perfect tonight, ready to attack tomorrow.Â
before itâs too late.Â
heâd said the quiet part out loud. a shared grimace encompassing the room, pitiful glances in your direction.Â
despite the fact that your demise was quickly approaching, you had felt a strange sense of peace. perhaps actually knowing your fate was better than not knowing.Â
there would be an end to all of this.Â
-
steve had offered his house for you all, his parents away on some trip for the next week meaning eddie could hide out in peace. a much better arrangement than the wheelerâs house again, ted had started to despise the groups of teenagers in his basement.Â
sleeping bags and blankets strewn across his gigantic living room, sleeping bodies filling every spare inch of carpet. none of you wanted to be apart for more than five minutes. sleeping on top one another was the ultimate comfort.Â
eddie had volunteered for first watch, keeping his eye steady on you from the corner of the room.Â
itâs a little difficult to fall asleep knowing that he was watching you like a hawk, surveying every tiny change and movement.Â
dustin was supposed to take over at some point in the early hours, but judging by the sounds of his rumbling snore, that wouldnât be happening.Â
you sit up, shuffling over to eddieâs perch, avoiding your sleeping friends on the ground.Â
his eyes dart to the floor, as if he hadnât been staring intensely at you for the last hour.
âdâyou have a cigarette?â you whisper, knocking your knee into his.Â
he nods, raising his brow, âyou donât smoke?â baffled by your question.Â
you shrug, smiling into the darkness, âhow would you know?â hoping it didnât come across as snappy as it seemed.Â
he doesnât reply, just shuffles around in his pocket, producing the scuffed up box with his lighter.Â
you nod towards the door, getting up from the floor with a small groan. limbs still aching and weary from your run in with death earlier.Â
he follows behind, glancing at the room of sleeping teens before slipping out onto the porch with you.Â
steveâs house was secluded, the massive back yard and the trees that surrounded it made sure that no one would find him here.Â
you perch on one of the lounge chairs, gesturing for eddie to join you, watching the steam from the pool dissipate into the chilly march night air. despite being in the same tiny town, his house was worlds apart from the trailer park you two grew up on.Â
he places a cigarette in your palm before sliding one between his own lips, passing you the lighter first.Â
itâs a silent exchange, unsure if you could talk about anything without crying, though itâs meaningful. eddie had been selfish plenty of times during your relationship but at his core, heâd put you before himself each and every time.Â
you light the cigarette, gazing off into the distance. hoping to god that he wouldnât bring what had happened earlier up.Â
âwhenâd you start smoking?â he asks, keeping a respectable distance between you though he wishes that wasnât something he had to worry about.Â
âwhen i found out that i was dying tomorrow,â exhaling slow, trying not to let your voice wobble.Â
he sighs, âyouâre not gonna die,â with less conviction than youâd have liked, âyou canât die,â shaking his head at such a ridiculous thought, âyou wonât.. you wonât,â mostly for his own sake.Â
your eyes squeeze shut, heart aching, squeezing your chest tight. last week youâd been terrified about your literature final and now none of it even mattered.Â
âwhat if i do?â you ask earnestly, finally meeting his eyes, âeveryone else has? we donât know if dustinâs right.. if we can beat him,â shrugging helplessly.Â
chrissy had died, patrick had died, fred had died. that meant you were next.Â
his jaw clenches, wishing youâd stop, âyouâre not,â throwing his cigarette butt to the side, âi wonât let you, okay?âÂ
you nod, albeit not believing a word he said. it was difficult to be so optimistic when the only evidence you had, said otherwise.Â
âthis vecna..â eddie begins again, âhe doesnât know whatâs about to hit him,â sounding slightly more confident than before, âweâre gonna kill him and youâre.. youâre gonna live and graduate and do all that great shit you still have to do.âÂ
you donât mistake the pain in his voice, the knowing that he should be there for all of that and that it had been his own fault for now being a footnote in the story of your life.Â
âi really do miss you,â you clarify, âiâm not sure how much of our conversation earlier was a vision or not..âÂ
eddie chuckles, breath shaky and unstable, âno.. you said that before, you know- before you got possessed,â bumping his shoulder into yours, thankfully injecting his fucked up humour into the otherwise dark conversation.Â
âwas it scary?âÂ
he scoffs, almost offended that youâd even ask, âi shit my pants,â smiling with the side of his mouth, not fully committed, âreminded me of that stupid movie you made me watch.âÂ
he had never liked horror movies, this tough guy exterior that exclusively listened to metal was all a guise. heâd watched the film through his fingers, clinging onto your arm.Â
âyou were very brave though,â letting your cigarette fall to the floor, sure to be lectured by steve in the morning.Â
he shies away, looking down for a brief second, âiâm not gonna let what happened to chrissy happen to you too..â meeting your gaze once more, âi promise.âÂ
âi donât think you can promise that,â sharing a meaningful glance.Â
âi can and i will.â
you nod hesitantly. his words, as much as youâd like to believe them, meant nothing when the supernatural was at play.Â
his eyes flicker down to your lips, just like they used to so many months ago. but you donât pull back, only leaning in further.Â
if you lived past tomorrow, youâd no doubt regret this but as that wasnât looking at all likely, what was a kiss between traumatised exes?Â
eddie makes the first real move, his palm coming to cradle your cheek. you hope to god this isnât another vision, that he wonât be cruelly torn away from you this time.Â
âis this real?â you canât stop yourself from asking, sighing as you do.Â
âthis is real,â he assures, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear, âdâyou want to stop?âÂ
âno,â closing the already dwindling space between you, placing your hand on his in such earnest intimacy, a sensation youâd missed so deeply for an entire year.Â
your lips touch, your eyes falling shut as his breaths start to steady, humming into your mouth in satisfaction.Â
it didnât feel so bad now, nothing could be so utterly terrifying while youâre touching him like this.Â
eddie breaks away first, only a few inches of distance, just to gaze into your starry eyes, âi never thought iâd be able to do that again,â with utmost sincerity.Â
âyou werenât supposed to,â shaking your head. if things had gone according to your plan, youâd have never seen him again.Â
but it doesnât work that way.Â
fate had other plans for you.Â
his lips twitch into a small smile, thumb drawing over your tired cheeks, âcan i do it again?âÂ
âplease.âÂ
connecting your lips once more, the cold tip of his nose bumping softly against yours. it was impossible not to notice how well you fit together, moving in synchronicity and with such tenderly care.Â
inside, dustin wakes up in a cold sweat. looking over at the empty spot on the floor where you should be, but now weâre not.Â
âshitshitshit,â he panics, whispering loudly to himself as he crashes around the house, stepping over the sleeping bodies.Â
dustinâs panicked face shoots up from the window, gawping at the barely visible sight, straining to make out what the fuck he was even seeing.Â
it only dawns on him when your lips leave eddieâs, foreheads resting together that it would be in his best interest to not interject and end up with his ass beat.Â
you come back in some twenty minutes later, after a plethora of shared kisses and soothing words. deciding to settle in the same empty spot on the floor, his hand only comfortable enough to grace your waist, under the blanket.Â
now wasnât the time for questions or prying eyes judging your decision. you werenât even too sure yourself.Â
itâs the only time youâve felt comfortable enough to sleep tonight, watching his chest rise and fall, knowing that he was here, alive and that for right now, you were too.Â
-
the carnage pulls you from your sleep, people yelling over pancakes and glass clattering as maxâs shrill voice scolds lucas for being too loud.Â
you look around at the mess of blankets and empty sleeping bags, the door to the living room was closed though it made no difference.Â
youâd have preferred to stay in the empty room, unwilling to address the situation with eddie last night but your stomach rumbles, pulling you out of the room and into the bright, bustling hallway.Â
robin swings out of the kitchen at the sound of your presence. sheâd clearly tried to help with the breakfast efforts, though unsuccessfully, emerging with flour down her shirt, jeans and somehow in her hair. she smiles gently at your weary eyes, âwe didnât wanna wake you.. you were knocked out.â
âthanks rob,â even though their incessant arguing and yelling did eventually rouse you from your sleep.Â
in the kitchen, dustin sits with his feet swinging off the tall stool, a too-wide, toothy grin growing on his face the second he spots you, âwell good morning! howâd you sleep?â a sarcastic little quip that you know holds something deeper.Â
âgreat thanks, you?â narrowing your eyes as you fill a mug with coffee.Â
he waits for steve to exit the room, turning back to you with the biggest shit-eating grin imaginable, âyeah, really good,â he twists his body to peer out of the door, ensuring no one could hear, âso you and eddie huh?âÂ
âme and eddie what?â refusing to entertain his cryptic questions.Â
âi saw you two last night, k-i-s-s-i-n-g,â wiggling his stupid brows as he shovels yet another pancake into his uncontrollable, jabbering mouth.Â
âand i saw you wet the bed last year, do you want to go there?â flinging his taunting right back at him.Â
dustinâs mouth falls open, âyou can be a real bitch, you know that?â taking his heaped plate back into the living room.Â
steve strolls back in, staring down dustinâs scowl before his eyes trail to you, âwhatâs wrong with him?âÂ
you smile, tight-lipped and fully loaded as you pour a cup of coffee, âoh nothing,â looking over the food with slight disgust. the hunger hadnât really hit you yet, too occupied with trying not to die to care about pancakes.Â
eddie interrupts your noisy brain, cackling as he comes into the kitchen, âmaybe you should stop being such a smart-ass then,â immediately quietening down when he spots you.Â
you donât speak, instead communicating with a shared look before you focus on the cup of coffee in your hand.Â
steve looks slowly between the two of you, âyou good?âÂ
âyeah.â
âyup.âÂ
you both simultaneously reply, refusing to acknowledge the tension in the empty kitchen.Â
âo-kay,â steve whistles, deciding that sitting with dustin and his terrible attitude would be far better than whatever this was.Â
itâs not supposed to be awkward.Â
it was just a kiss. or multiple.Â
a few kisses between exes during the end of the world. thatâs all.Â
âdâyou sleep okay?â he dares to ask, feeling comfortable enough to make eye contact now that steve had left.Â
âyeah.. thank you, for looking after me,â smiling gently at the bleary eyed boy.Â
âi told you i would,â he reaffirms, âyouâre not doing this on your own.âÂ
âi know,â you nod, swallowing the growing lump, âbut iâm scared eds.. i donât want you to die because of me.âÂ
eddie tuts, rounding the counter to place his hand on your arm, âthatâs not-,â
dustin hollers, falling through the kitchen door, giving away the groups prying position, âow shithead!â shoving lucas backwards as they materialise one by one.Â
dustin, lucas, max, erica.Â
in that order.
âare you fucking serious?â you screech, throwing your arms into the air.Â
this was low even for dustin.Â
âsorry! sorry! go back to confessing your love or whatever the hell was happening!â scurrying off to finish his pancakes and no doubt inform robin and steve what theyâd witnessed.Â
âi canât believe him,â you frown, turning to eddie whoâs stifling his laugh. âitâs not funny,â but your lips twitch anyway.Â
âitâs kinda funny,â his hand still lingering on your arm, his smile reaching his eyes, âyou donât care if they know.. do you?âÂ
you shrug, perhaps you did care a little bit. you were the one whoâd broken up with him, deserted him for college. maybe you didnât deserve a second chance.Â
âitâs okay..â he nods, as understanding as always, âthis is weird, i get it," as understanding as he was, he wasn't able to conceal the dejected puppy gleam in his eye.
"it's not that," pathetically reaching for his hand, "i'm just.. i'm supposed to die today, i don't want to.. lead you on, or get your hopes up or whatever," putting your finger up to stop eddie from interrupting, "i don't need you to tell me that i'm not. just let me spiral about this," smiling as you speak, truly a means to soothe yourself, not just eddie.
"o..okay," his whole speech shut down, leaving him with nothing. his eyes flit over to the mountains of food steve had whipped up, "you should eat.. you've got a busy day of not dying to get through," smirking right through your snide glare.
-
something feels off, a nervous twisting in your stomach that makes you want to call the entire thing off.Â
you could go down there and fight this with them. screw whatever prophetic visions youâd had.Â
eddie hadnât even wanted to go, desperate to stay in the attic with you, watching over in fear of losing you again.Â
âwhat if.. what if something happens and they donât know how to fix it? theyâre kids.â heâd pleaded, sat on the porch outside of the large house in your final moments of peace.Â
âdustin canât do this on his own,â you cooed, only slightly wishing that he could execute this plan on his own. âyou have to go. iâll be okay..okay?â not entirely certain about the truthfulness of your words.Â
he takes a sharp intake of breath, fingers forming a weak fist, âyou better be,â the moon reflecting off of his caramel irisâ, capturing the entire universe in two tiny orbs, âi donât want to lose you again.âÂ
your head dips, quickly losing the ability to look him in the eye, overwhelmed with guilt and the reminder that you had been the one to end things.Â
âitâs okay,â grabbing your hand to place on his bouncing knee, âiâm not.. mad about it, or upset and you shouldnât be either,â squeezing your fingers in a bid to draw your eyes back to him.Â
âi donât-,â huffing a frustrated sigh, unable to form a coherent thought when the impending battle loomed over your heads. âeverything is so fucked and i donât know if weâre gonna make it this time.âÂ
eddieâs fingers lace between yours, holding your hand tighter, âweâre gonna be fine.. okay? everyone is gonna be fine,â inching closer in the thick of the night, âiâm gonna be right back here, as soon as that bastard is dead.. i promise.âÂ
this time, you punctuate his sentence for him, springing forward to latch your lips to his, using your free hand to cradle his stubbly cheek.Â
you long to kiss him forever, never escaping this embrace, knowing that thereâs a chance it wonât happen again. his lips soft, desperate to stay attached to you, too.Â
âoh! shit! uhm-,â robin stutters, clattering out of the door.Â
you break apart, containing the low groan of disappointment, âsorry rob.. âs everything okay?â eddieâs as bashful as ever, his cheeks flushing a deep scarlet, even in the darkness.Â
âyeah! uh.. nancy told me to tell you that weâve gotta go now or itâll be too late,â swinging from the door as she speaks.Â
he glances at you again, longing for just one more minute of this peace. one more second of your touch.Â
but it doesnât come.Â
they leave in a hurry, cycling maniacally away to the trailer park, leaving you, lucas, max and erica to conduct the rest of the plan. only fragments of hope left as you watch them disappear over the hill, praying for someone, anyone to just keep him safe.
-
everything is eerily calm, far too silent for the situation at hand.Â
you sit cross-legged in the attic, looking between lucas and max who had taken it upon themselves to converse through a notepad.Â
they reminded you of you and eddie once upon a time, giggling teenagers trying to navigate love together.Â
itâs sweet, full of the same adolescent innocence you were desperately trying to regain.Â
eventually they break apart, lucas traipsing over the creaky floorboards to check on you, equally confused by the serenity.Â
he turns to walk away, almost frozen as his brows furrow and his pupils dilate, âyou killed them.âÂ
your mouth falls open, immediately hushing him so as to not screw up nancy and dustinâs carefully thought out plan.Â
âyou killed them all,â he parrots, a sinister air surrounding him. âeddie trusted you and you killed him.. youâre a murderer,â the venom flying off of his tongue, severing your heart in two.Â
the plan had worked. you were back in wherever it was you were taken before, confirmed by the sudden darkness, the wallpaper splintering and putrid stench that had filled your nose.Â
lucas isnât lucas at all.Â
a mimic to the higher power cursing your town, only a small part of his master plan to destroy hawkins.Â
your surroundings melt away, lucas nor max no longer appearing before you. instead, youâre faced with a flash of red, and a maniacal cackle.Â
henry, as youâd since learnt he was called, begins his tirade, just as youâd planned.Â
âwhy didnât you stop them?â he booms, appearing in the corner, âyou let them go after everything i showed you.â
he didnât scare you, not anymore. when the time was right, lucas would slide maxâs walkman over your ears and pull you right out of this hellscape.Â
âtheyâre going to kill you,â standing stoic, resistant under his thumb. âyou canât hurt anybody else.. not anymore,â gritting your teeth, such determination to have him hear you.Â
his burnt frame disappears right before your eyes, a loud, blaring laugh appears from behind.Â
once again turning to darkness, only this time itâs accompanied by a chorus of screeching. feral creatures and familiar voices circle around your head.Â
his torment is ruthless, voices, namely eddieâs rattle around your brain, wailing and screaming, loud enough to make your ears ring and your head ache.Â
your eyes open to your trailer, watching yourself argue and cry at eddie.Â
the day you broke up.Â
âyouâre just gonna leave me?â he despairs, just as feeble as the first time heâd said it.Â
âi canât stay here eddie! you donât get it! i nearly died.. i canât do that again,â and yet, here you are.Â
a shrill, shrieking sound fills the room before the scene crumbles before your eyes leaving you to the decaying scene you bore witness to before. remnants of the creel house float through the scarlet sky, threatening to crash into each other.Â
âmaybe i canât hurt you, but you can hurt yourself,â vecnaâs voice squawks, flashing forward to a scene youâve never seen before.Â
eddie, with his back against a door, you can only assume heâs trying to keep something out. a grotesque mix of blood, sweat and tears seep down his cheeks, the door beginning to thump from the pressure of whatever was on the other side.Â
âthis all couldâve been so easy,â rapidly wiping the imagine from your view, only to appear mere inches away, decrepit hand rising above your face. âdonât you wish you had just listened? donât you wish that you had just come with me?â now mocking with his tone, condescending even though heâd gotten you exactly where youâd wanted.Â
âno.. no no no,â arms suddenly restricted by a slimy tendril, forcing your face to meet his, âyouâre not real.. youâre not-â a sudden, awful constriction wraps around your lungs, squeezing the air from your body.Â
âiâm not.. real?â he mocks, the corners of his mouth creep upwards, âi didnât want this to happen this way but youâve left me no choice.âÂ
you gasp loudly for breath, struggling within his grasp for a means out of it. where was lucas? or max? what happened to the plan?Â
over the last few days, youâd become quite comfortable with the idea of dying. it became fact, an inevitable consequence of getting yourself tangled up in this entire thing.Â
but now, as it looms over your head, you want out.Â
you want to be with eddie. you want a dozen kids and a quaint house on the corner of maple. maybe a dog or a cat that heâd picked up on the side of the road. slow dancing in the kitchen after a day of warm sun.Â
you want to live.Â
his fist closes, leaving your lips blue and begging for oxygen. âthis is what had to happen.. your time-â his rambling cut off by a ground shattering boom, the tendril dropping your body at once.Â
he stumbles backwards, grabbing onto his chest. your vision too blurry to coherently make out what was happening, a mixture of colours that swirls away quickly.Â
your aching bones thump to the floor, gasping for air as the familiarity of the creelâs attic fills your peripheral.Â
max and lucas swarm your body, muttering over one another, their small hands shaking in fear as your head is placed on maxâs lap.Â
âwhat the fuck? what the fuck do we do? lucas!â she hollers at lucas, as if either of them had any idea.Â
they shouldnât have to be concerned with any of this, nor tasked with the pressure of keeping you alive. your breathing steadies though your chest still heaves, leaving the comfort of her hold to scan the room. making sure that this was real, that you were home.Â
four pairs of feet appear before you and not one of them the dusty pair of reebokâs you were waiting to see.Â
collapsing once again, in a crumpled heap on the dusty floorboards, your voice cracks, broken as you speak. still reeling from the onslaught of abuse youâd endured.Â
âwhereâs eddie?âÂ

HII!! i'm not a very active tumblr user but i discovered your account a day or two ago and the things you write are so impressive and beautiful!! â and if you don't mind i have a request for you i know it will sound really stupid but i'm just curious. can you write something about thanos and y/n having dated since high school and after playing mingle in the squid game y/n and thanos went to the bathroom to do something at nightđ€ and y/n told thanos that she was 2 or 3 months (i don't know how long it took to figure it outđ) pregnant and since she found out she's been using pills to abort the baby (it's not her first time, and the reason is because she doesn't trust her own motherhood since she grew up with deficiencies)?? i said a lot, i'm sorryđđ(i know it sounds so weirdđ and if there are any spelling mistakes sorry it's not my native language) Tysm in advanceđđ
yess sorry it took so longggg im going from the bottom of my requestđ
Sorry for not telling you
warnings: just making out, pregnancy, mentions of abortions
You and thanos have been dating since high school, honestly you yourself is surprised how you even managed to last this long with him, he just seemed like the type to cheat and treat you wrong but he actualt never did which was surprising to you
He was a very sweet man and boyfriend, always treating you well and didnât really talk to any women, so that was a good head start but sadlyyy yall both got into debt, so in the middle of random station a man came up to you guys, played a game, got slapped, almost fought the guy but held him back.
He gave us a card and we decided to call it as we both got picked up and suddenly fell asleep with this random gas they put.
The moment you woke up you immediately went to find Thanos as he placed his hands on your forearm and you placed your hands on his arms âOh my gee! Your here oh my god i was worried!â he said quickly hugging you as you hugged him back, âWhere the hell are we?â the first thing you said as he looked at you
âNo idea, looks like shit tho, all these beds in the way..many for us eh?â he said smirking and raising an eyebrow jokingly obviously.
You nervously chuckled and looked away, you havenât been completely honest with him.
For the past 2 months youâve been throwing up like crazy, avoiding every moment of intimacy, before you called that card, you bought a pregnancy and came out positive, youâve also tried taking abortion pills thinking it would even work yet it didnât so you kinda panicked and to make it worse you havenât told him yet and still feel you shouldnât especially if weâre here.
So we did end up going into the games and to find out they were death games, you felt so stressed out during red light green light, you even clinged onto thanos since you started feeling a little sick.
Ever since that game heâs been watching over you, sure he noticed your behavior was a bit different but he brushed it off thinking it was just because of the games.
Time skip
The second game came, and you were lowkey even more stressing out but thankfully thanos was clinging onto you the whole game and even kicked out someone of the group just for you, you felt so bad for the person who got killed and even looked back at him but you know your life or his life.
â2 playersâ you heard a familiar ai women like voice say, It didnât take long for thanos to literally yank you and run.
He pushed by people and even grabbed a girls hair pulling her back as you gasped, he pushed you into the room first and quickly went in panting, âHoly shit that was intense..â he said putting a hand to his chest, his chest rising up and down rapidly, âAre you okay?â he asked as you nodded.
You started too feel a bit sick as you put a hand on your stomach making a small face, âwhatâs wrong? your stomach hurt?â he asked again âN-no i just feel really nauseous..â you said hoping he gets a hint as he nodded, âWell the game is over, iâm sure itâs all the blood..â he said
They took us back to the beds as you still felt nauseous but just brushed it off, they gave us dinner which was only like 5 rolls..and a fork? like?
Not that long after dinner Thanos lead you to the bathroom, he smirked at you as he closed the door, âWhat are you doing..?â you asked as he grabbed your waist and pulled you towards him âiâve missed feeling your body against mine you knowâ he said looking down at you as you just chuckled.
He kissed you and you kissed him back, everything was all good, the kiss was great, but eventually one kiss turned into a heated makeout as he kissed you a bit more aggressively
his hands traveled to your waist to the waistband of the sweatpants and slowly tried pulling them down but you quickly grabbed his hands, you pulled back from the kiss and looked at him, âWhat? whatâs wrong? why donât you wanna like..have sex anymore?â he asked in a bit of confusion, âThanos..i have to uhh tell you somethingâ you told him softly
âWhat, what is it?â he asked his hands going back to your waist, âI-i know iâm telling you this so late but for the past 2 months iâve been feelings really..sickâ
âSick? sick like how? are you dying baby?â he asked âWhat? no..? iâve just been throwing up every morning and feeling nauseous, and like..iâve just been feeling weird so before we came here i bought a test..â you told him
He looked at you densely and just blinking awkwardly âtest? like a covid test? oh my god are you positive?â he asked his mouth slightly parted
You got annoyed and rolled your eyes âNo thanos! i donât have covid!â you said
âThan what? what test! come on tell me already!â he said slightly inpatient
âIâm pregnant!â you yelled out
He stared at you, his eyes widen and he stayed quiet, he slowly backed up rubbing his forehead
âIâm sorry i know i shouldâve told you sooner! iâve been taking abortion pills but there literally a scam! i understand if you donât wanna stay with me-.â you begin explaining as you felt emotional
âWait what? your taking abortion pills!? y/n your hurting OUR BABY!â he said quickly getting on the floor and sliding to your waist touching your belly (sorryy i found this funny thinking he would do that like that usher memeđ)
You stared down at him blankly as he puts his head to your stomach âOh my gosh youâre crazy.. donât take those anymore! iâm ready to become a father. Weâre gonna make it out of here! and have this baby togetherâ he said looking up at you
You smiled at him touching his hair, âI hope so..â
âBut can we just do one more game baby? please..â he said pleading up at you, you quickly frowned and rolled your eyes âCâmon please baby, the more money the best for the babyâ
âFine..just one more.â you said quietly as he yelped up and hugged you and kissed your cheek, you smiled, he took you back to the beds and voting started, obviously picking âOâ for him
A couple minutes after the voting it was a tie, His name Nam-su? Nam-gyu? motioned him to the bathroom after he saw someone go in, player 333, thanos glared for a moment and looked at you âIâll be back okay baby? i need to take a wiz real quick..â he said getting up and giving you one last kiss as you nodded.
Who knows? maybe thatâs the last time you will ever see him, maybe you will never see him come out that bathroom again, maybe that would be the last kiss he gave you. Nobody knows where they might end up.

would you do satosugu discovering their "friend" (both of them have a fatass crush on m!reader) is a teen dad, and just all of them chaotically taking care of a baby. (like those collage students raising a baby tiktoks?)

ok so technically i only write for blue lock buttttttttttt⊠i am more than willing to make an exception for this. this is also my favorite niche of satosugu fics so im super honored someone requested it from me
tags: male reader has a foster daughter bc hell yeah girl dads, unnamed child bc that's too much for me, reader is a sorcerer, found family but in a janked up kinda way, whipped satosugu, pre-hidden inventory so everyone is in high school in this this a long one yall
part two coming soon!
â
when assigned an extremely harsh mission, you find an orphaned child barely a year old within all the rumble. you soon found out her family was recently killed in the destruction. unsure of what would happen to her after this, you decided to take her as your own.
â
scared of any judgment, you didnât tell anyone about her so only a few higher-ups were aware. luckily you were allowed to live off campus so you two could have more space and privacy.
â
however the physical effects of raising a kid all on your own at such a young age were certainly showing. you came to school visibly worn down, often falling asleep in the middle of class and taking more absences than usual.
â
the first people to notice, of course, were gojo and geto. as nosy as they were, they tried not to push it, knowing you had just come back from a really taxing mission. though they did get more and more suspicious whenever you didnât let them visit your new place.
â
however one day, they did spot you out in public wearing a baby carrier with, of course, a baby theyâd never seen before resting right inside. they immediately came up to you and bombarded you with multiple questions before you got them to chill out and explained everything.
â
wanting you to take some time off (and win you over), they offer to take care of her regularly. who were you to refuse? after all, it is free babysitting and you were already using up so much money hiring actual babysitters.
â
during their first babysitting job, you thanked them profusely before going back into your room and instantly falling asleep the moment your body hit your bed, taking a very well-deserved nap.
â
you see, gojo was already pretty hesitant about you having a kid around. this was before he took in megumi so he found basically any child gross and annoying. (though heâs somehow even more attracted to you now that youâre a dad.)
â
coughs dilf lover gojo i mean what?
â
so when gojo picked up your baby for the first time, she immediately cried when they made eye contact and he got so so personally offended that he started rethinking this whole babysitting thing.
â
the first thirty minutes or so of taking care of your kid went pretty okay. that was until she started crying again and neither of them knew why.
â
you see, these idiots have no idea how to care for a child.
â
they frantically tried to calm her down and figure out what was wrong without needing to wake you. they checked if she was hurt in any way, she definitely wasnât hungry since they already fed her, nor did she need to be changed. gojo even called shoko to see if she could do anything.
â
when they eventually saw her crawling towards your room and sobbing right outside your door, hesitantly let her in to see her climb onto your bed and lay down with you, realizing she just missed you the whole time. that entire experience made them so exhausted that they almost climbed into bed with you. but when they saw the gratitude on your face after you woke up, it made it all worth it.
â
luckily the next few times they watched over her, babysitting got more and more easy as she grew used to them.
â
they start coming over so often to look after her that your place basically becomes their second home.
â
geto is in charge of doing her hair since the last time gojo attempted it, it was just a big mess of hair ties and ribbons. getoâs definitely not complaining since he loves to get her ready. in fact, geto does a lot of the responsible stuff when taking care of her since gojo, hmm whatâs a nice way to put it, lacks a lot of the necessary skills.
â
oh yeah, remember what i said about gojo hating younger children? yeah, that completely changes as he spends more time with your daughter. heâs almost always playing with her or showing up with a brand new toy or stuffed animal just for her. he ends up loving her so so much and wants to be her cool fun dad.
â
unfortunately both of them are way too nice when it comes to disciplining her. they let her get away with so much. late bedtimes, too much tv, grabbing any treats she wants off the grocery store shelves. how can they not spoil such an adorable little girl like her!?
â
whatâs also unfortunate is how they try to drag you into it.
âcome on, y/n. let loose a little. cake for dinner does sound pretty appetizing right now.â
âcome on. just let her watch ten more minutes before bed.â gojo lazed on the couch with her on his lap. âbesides this cartoon is starting to get good.â
âcome onnn⊠just let her buy it.â geto held up a sparkly pink dress you already told him she doesnât need with his own sparkles in his eyes. âsheâll look so cute in it. i promise iâll pay you back.â
â
their hearts explode whenever youâre affectionate with her. they love the way you gently rock her in your arms while humming a sweet lullaby, slowly lulling her to sleep. the way they see you kiss her forehead after placing her into the crib before quickly turning around and acting like they werenât staring the whole time. they fall head over heels for you for probably the twentieth time by now since they met you but those times were definitely the hardest.
â
theyâve been in her life for a good while so when she begins talking more frequently, she starts calling them her papas as she does with you. gojo aka former âugh kids are so gross and ickyâ feels his heart combusting whenever she calls him that and he owns that title proudly. meanwhile geto feels so endeared and honored that she sees him that way.
â
âweâre not the stepdads. weâre the dads that stepped up!â looking asses.đ
â
the secret of you having a kid doesnât last for long since these two canât keep quiet about it. theyâre just way too happy and want to show her off. especially gojo who scrolls through 100s of photos of her while gushing about her to basically anyone whoâll listen. shoko and nanami are the most common targets whenever this happens.
â
he even ends up showing photos of you and your daughter napping together (that you had no idea he took), making you snatch his phone away in embarrassment.
â
whenever you guys go out on family dates to go to the beach or picnicking, geto always takes the time to dress her up with pretty hairstyles and cute little outfits. he absolutely loves doting on her.
â
they love her with all their hearts and would do absolutely anything for her. sheâs so lucky to have three weird dads take care of her and raise her. a very odd and⊠unconventional family dynamic but an amazing one nonetheless. this family only grows bigger and bigger once gojo takes in megumi and geto practically adopts mimiko and nanako.

married!soukoku aus where they always get married/engaged in somewhat unconventional ways every time
- just saying âok weâre married nowâ and thatâs that
- buying rings together and calling it a day
- writing their own marriage papers because they do not need any records of them, even marital ones
- saying their vows in bed a moment before they go to sleep
- ^ or whilst killing people together
- ^^ and being enemies
- ^^^ or marrying before becoming enemies, then treating dazaiâs betrayal to the mafia as a divorce contract⊠at first, seriously, then just joking about it and getting âremarriedâ
- drawing a line on each otherâs ring finger
- chuuya accidentally cutting dazaiâs finger exactly where the ring would go, and dazai saying that it means chuuya had proposed⊠so theyâre married now
- ^ trying to carve a âringâ into chuuyaâs finger but he says no and just gets his own ring
- âletâs marryâ âok, when?â ânowâ âokâ and so they were bound through life and death, and vowed to hate (love) each other till death did them part
- eloping from the mafia?? (so chuuya leaves, too)
- high school au and they marry on the rooftop of the school just for fun
- marrying before dating
- marrying on the verge of death (both of them are about to die)
- getting caught (or kidnapped) together, and the worst decision their captors made was to put them in the same room. so they make one of the captors the priest and the ring is taken from a grenade as they run away and let the explosions behind them be the symphony to the newly wedded coupleâ
- âmarryingâ as children (elementary school, probably) and one of them takes it seriously and to heart, so the other feels bad to say it hadnât been literal⊠and then they actually do marry
- ^ OD: âi canât wait till i find a beautiful woman to marry and die with ><!!â CN: ââŠi thought we were married, dazai?â *insert the most pathetic expression ever* OD: âwâŠwe were?â
- âchuuya, you have to say ââtill death do us part.ââ âwhy? death ainât got shit on us!â âi donât wanna be stuck with you even when weâre dead.â âasshole.â
- dazai breaking into the mafia after years, kneeling before chuuya whilst simultaneously avoiding the guards + other pm members who surround him, taking chuuyaâs hand, taking the glove off, and sliding a ring onto his finger then just. leaving. 100% to confuse chuuya and give him shit in the pm so they start questioning him until he manages to talk his way out of it (and later confront dazai about it)
- marrying whilst drunk and not remembering anything about it the next day
- marrying as an âactâ under enemy territory to catch them off guard, then attack
- ^ later being like âcan it just have been real so we donât have to deal with the cheesy shit again?â âbet.â
- lmao dazai proposing to corruption!chuuya only for the ring to be utterly crushed under his fingers before dazai turns him back⊠and dazai being upset about it so he doesnât talk to chuuya for a week
- a ring⊠made of bandages? just tying a strip on and being like âthere! now weâre married <3â âyou idiotââ
- putting a ring in chuuyaâs food but chuuya nearly ends up choking on it
- putting a ring on the otherâs hand when they sleep so thereâs no room for rejection⊠and when they wake up theyâre all confused like âdid⊠i just miss a couple years of my life?â
- âtruth or dare?â âdare.â âi dare you to marry me.â ââŠokay?â
- âarranged marriageâ but itâs actually dazai manipulating mori/or his parents into wanting to make him marry chuuyaâso that chuuya has no choice (he did have a choice bc dazai consulted him about it before, but dazai announced to their families that there had been no choice) and so they can do it technically with the parents/moriâs consent (they didnât want to ask like normal people)
- marrying through letters⊠penpals? âdearest chuuya, will you marry me? (enclosed is a ring, if you say yes. if not, send it back without an answer). sincerely, osamu.â âto osamuâ fuck yeah?? also this looks expensive as shit⊠its mine now!! â chuuya.â
- bribery that wasnât necessary
- ^ âiâll give you (thing) if you marry me.â ââŠi wouldâve said yes, regardless, but now that thatâs on the tableâyes please:3â
- pop star/singer au and popping in a âslug/mackerel, marry me!!!â whilst on live⊠knowing the other is watching
- long distance au and marrying on call, but they were both already prepared so they say their vows and present rings that theyâd had sent in mail to each other and put them on themselves
- ^ doing it late at night just for the fun of it and falling asleep amidst giggling and hushed promises to see each other soon
- college au and proposing at graduation !
- fanfic writers au and they slip in a âbtw if u see this, pls marry me chibi/idiot (depending on who it is)â in the notes, and later the other frantically texts them asking if they were being serious

i've been obsessed with the s4 epilogue for the last few days and i need to talk about this
the camerawork is CRAZY. the amount of tricks they use here is just not necessary for them simply looking through the car window. and remember this is the EPILOGUE. in stranger things the epilogues are packed full with foreshadowing, especially in s4. there is no dialogue, only the voiceover of the new reporter.
these are the first two shots we see, back to back. mike and el are fully visible together on screen, while will is fully by himself. the camera isn't moving much at first
then there are some shots of the destruction in hawkins and families packing up to leave.
then there's this shot of will, possible referencing the phineas gage analogy used in s2. mike and el's heads are barely visible in the back.
then there's another shot of families packing to leave hawkins.
then, there's this:
it's interesting how el is at first hidden behind mike and slowly revealed.
then there's a shot of the high school.
then:
this is the first shot of willelmike from inside the van, not outside the window looking in. el is not visible at all, only will and mike. and the focus is shifting from will to mike.
(i will also note that the music noticeably swells here. seriously go watch it gets very loud and even more emotional when the focus shifts from will to mike)
the next time we see the characters is this:
mike is not visible at all, only will and el.
then:
we see mike and el again, but not at the same time. they are distinctly separated and obscured. we only see one at a time.
this is the last we see in the van. mike, again, is obscured. we still can't see mike and el as a unit like they were being shown as in the beginning. i can't stress enough how important it is that they were originally being shown together. this is also the first time we are seeing through el's pov, looking through her side of the van instead of mike's.
only after the shot that shifts from will to mike, we can no longer see mike and el on screen at the same time. only after the shot of mike and will. and it's only after the shot where mike and el are distinctly separated that we see el independent, looking through her own window instead of mike's while mike is the one obscured in the background, and we get a close up on her face.

we progressively see more of mike and will on screen together.

while every time we see mike and el, we see less of them.
this is storytelling through camerawork, quite obviously. don't forget that this is what we see immediately in the epilogue. mere moments before this, we saw el reviving max, where we hear many quotes such as:
"Not Hopper, not Mike, you."
"See? What'd I tell you? There's more to life than stupid boys!"
"Against the rules?" "We make our own rules."
maybe TWO MINUTES before these shots in the van.
and i'm not trying to get testy cause i know people get sensitive about this, but they chose to show us the love triangle looking on at the destruction and devastation in hawkins. the same love triangle who are inexplicably tied to the monologue, aka a massive act of forced conformity.
"It's forced conforming. That's what's killing the kids."
will mike and el were all struggling with this. el was deeply insecure and felt like a monster, and relationship with mike did nothing but fuel it. she pretended to be someone she wasn't in front of him and EXTENSIVELY lied to him. mike feels like a useless nerd loser who is also likely dealing with internalized homophobia, and his relationship with did nothing but fuel it. he felt like he had to pretend to be someone else in lenora, because his true self isn't enough. the only person to soothe these insecurities of mike's is will byers, who is also deeply in love with mike. will byers, who because of mike pushing him away in an attempt to be 'normal', thinks mike will never ever feel the same and thinks mike loves el. the one person who brings out mike's true self and naturally makes mike feel like his true self is enough, is also the one who pushed mike into saying i love you to el in the end. that's why they failed, and that's why they're the ones with an extended compilation looking on at the destruction. we needed to see them observe the damage that they inadvertently caused.
let me be clear, i'm not blaming them or calling them bad people or stupid or anything. it's all about the narrative and storytelling and themes of the show.
this gets even more interesting when you consider that mike will and el are the leads of season s5. this is how they're portraying the leads of s4 in the final foreshadowing portion of s4.

ALSO, mina is NAWT taking pink. thats OUR color now.)
Of Silence and Secrets

âŠ..
Bakugou Katsuki hated his hearing aids.
Hated how they fit, hated how they felt, and most of all, hated what they represented. Weakness. A crack in the armor heâd spent his entire life forging. When the ringing in his ears started as a brat in middle school, he didnât think much of it. Just the fallout from a quirk-boosted explosion, nothing he couldnât handle.
Years passed. The ringing grew into dull hums, muffled voices, and missed sounds. A villainâs retreating taunt he couldnât catch. The screech of a car he didnât hear. Kirishima shouting his name three times before Bakugou finally turned around, snarling, âWhat the hell do you want!?â while Kirishima just looked⊠worried.
His hearing aids were a damn nuisance. At least, thatâs what he told himself every single day.
They whined if someone got too close, buzzed when he adjusted them wrong, and gods forbid he so much as grazed them during a fightâone hard knock, and theyâd go flying. He could hear again, sure, but better hearing came at a price: realizing just how insufferably loud the world actually was. Katsuki had spent months in denial, refusing to accept that his ears, like the rest of his high-octane life, couldnât keep up with him.
The ringing had started in his late teens, growing louder until it followed him everywhere. He blamed it on the explosions, the debris, the constant yellingâbut really, he knew. His mom did too, though sheâd spared him the lecture until the day Kirishima cornered him in his agency office with a sheepish grin and her voice on speakerphone.
âKatsuki.â The way she said his nameâsharp, biting, and so unlike her usual bark of âOi, you brat!ââmade his stomach drop. âWhat if somethinâ happens? What if you miss an evac order orâhellâa cry for help? Hah? What then?â
â⊠Tch.â He had scowled so hard it hurt. âFine. Iâll get the damn things.â
The intervention was humiliating, but the worst part? She was right. He hated that more than anything.
That was the first night he slept with the hearing aids sitting on the nightstand. Heâd finally picked them up after a year of constant badgeringâfrom his mom, Kirishima, hell, even that damn Deku. It wasnât that he didnât want to hear betterâit was the admission that killed him.
But now? Now the stupid things were glued to him. Mostly.
The tech was incredible, of course. Damn nerds at Hero Support had outdone themselves. The hearing aids didnât just amplify sound; they filtered it, isolating voices during chaos and syncing with comm units. They were waterproof, explosion-proofâBakugou-proof. Allegedly.
But they werenât indestructible. Heâd broken five pairs in six months. Kaminari had nicknamed him âBreak-aidâ after the third replacement. Bakugou threatened to shove them where the sun didnât shine.
And yet⊠they worked. Too well.
He could hear the scratch of pens during hero conferences, the obnoxious tapping of Kaminariâs foot against the table, the quiet sigh of his own breath. The worst part? The incessant talking. It was everywhere. Fans, reporters, civiliansâpeople who thought their every word needed an audience.
Thankfully, heâd discovered the mute button.
The first time he used it, Kaminari was midway through a rant about his latest gadget. Bakugou, in a rare moment of self-control, didnât yell. He just flicked the switch, leaned back in his chair, and smirked as Kaminari kept babbling. No explosions, no shouting, just blissful silence.
But there were downsides.
Combat was a nightmare when they broke. Shouting âHUH!?â every five seconds wasnât exactly strategic. Thatâs when he decided to learn sign language. Not because anyone suggested itâhell no. But because heâd be damned if he relied on a gadget to do his job.
The process was⊠frustrating. Hands clumsy, movements stiff. Kirishima tried to help, but his signs were barely legible. Kaminari? Useless. Sero was too busy laughing to be much better or resorted to typing in the Notes app on his phone when it was pretty serious. Deku? That nerd had picked it up in a week, naturally.
But you? You made it bearable.
âLike this,â youâd said, your fingers forming a perfect sign. âThumb tucked in.â
Bakugou grumbled, but copied you.
âGood. See? That wasnât so bad, was it, âSuki?â
Your patience annoyed him almost as much as it calmed him. And somehow, over weeks of practice, his stiff movements turned fluid. Heâd never admit it, but he liked having this⊠language, this connection, with you.
And then he realized something else.
You understood him. Not just the signs, but him. The sharpness he couldnât quite soften, the quiet gratitude he couldnât voice. And better yet? No one else around him could understand a damn thing he was saying.
It started innocently enoughâwell, innocent by his standards.
âBored out of my goddamn mind,â heâd signed at you during a hero conference.
Youâd smirked and replied, âSame.â
But then, Bakugou being Bakugou, had an epiphany: he could sign anything.
The first time he tried it, you were sitting across from him at a formal hero banquet. The room was filled with pro heroes, reporters, and politicians. Everyone was dressed to the nines, sipping champagne and pretending the world wasnât on fire outside.
Bakugou caught your eye and, with the most deadpan expression, signed: Wanna fuck?
Your head snapped up so fast you nearly knocked your glass over. You choked, coughing into your hand, and when someone asked if you were okay, you waved them off, avoiding his gaze.
He smirked, sipping his water like he hadnât just propositioned you in a room full of Japanâs elite.
âŠ..
It got worse.
During a meeting with the Hero Public Safety Commission, while a bureaucrat droned on about policy changes, Bakugouâs hands moved under the table. He made sure you were looking before signing: Iâd rather have you ride me than sit here with these extras.
You froze mid-note, the pen slipping from your fingers. Your face burned as you ducked your head, pretending to scribble something in your notebook. Across the room, Kirishima noticed your sudden movement.
âHey, you good?â he whispered.
âFine!â you squeaked, glaring at Bakugou.
He tilted his head, feigning confusion, then casually leaned back in his chair. He looked so smug you wanted to scream.
At a press conference, surrounded by the press corps, TV cameras, and the elite of the hero world, Bakugou stood stiffly at the podium, bored out of his skull. Beside him, you shuffled the note cards youâd prepared, doing your best to stay focused on Midoriyaâs answer to a question about villain reform strategies.
Bakugou glanced at you out of the corner of his eye, smirking at how focused you looked. That only made the idea pop into his head faster. He adjusted his stance, one hand casually coming up to rub his neck as the other signed with precision:
Iâd fuck you so hard over this podium, the microphones would short out.
Your brain stalled like a computer blue-screening. The cards slipped from your hands, scattering onto the stage floor. You froze in horror as a sea of reporters looked up from their notebooks.
Midoriya, ever the anxious public speaker, stopped mid-sentence. âUh, are you okay?â he asked.
âY-yeah! Just... clumsy!â you stammered, dropping to your knees to collect the cards. You didnât dare look at Bakugou, whose hand came up to his mouth as though stifling a yawnâbut you knew he was hiding a smirk.
To make things worse, while you scrambled on the floor, he signed again, deliberately slower so you couldnât miss it:
Wouldâve pulled your hair too, just to hear you scream.
Your face burned so hot you were sure youâd melt through the stage.
It didnât stop there.
At the next agency-wide meeting, Bakugou sat across from you in the conference room, arms crossed as a pro-hero you couldn't bother to listen to went on and on about new combat protocols. The room was packed with pro heroes, all seated shoulder-to-shoulder.
Bakugou, whoâd already tuned out after the first ten minutes, caught your gaze and raised an eyebrow. Before you could react, his hands moved subtly under the table:
Iâd eat you out on this table, right in front of everyone, and make sure you couldnât stay quiet.
The coffee cup in your hand slipped, splashing onto your notes. You cursed under your breath, grabbing napkins to clean the mess.
Kirishima, sitting beside you, leaned over. âWhoa, you okay? Youâve been jumpy lately.â
You forced a smile, not daring to look at Bakugou, whose expression remained infuriatingly neutral. âIâm fine. Just tired.â
It became a game to him.
While Kirishima nodded and went back to his notes, Bakugou adjusted in his chair and signed again:
Bet youâd cry if I used my mouth the way Iâm thinking. Probably beg me to stopâbut you wouldnât really mean it.
You slammed your pen down so hard it startled Kaminari, who glanced over with a confused look.
âYou good?â he asked.
âIâm fine,â you snapped, refusing to look up.
Across the table, Bakugou leaned back, feigning boredom, but his eyes glinted with amusement.
It escalated during a casual outing with the crew.
Everyone had gathered at a bustling ramen joint after a long patrol, crowding into a booth that was way too small for so many people. Bakugou sat to your right, thigh pressed against yours under the table. As the conversation flowed around him, he picked up a pair of chopsticks and casually started eating.
Then, as Mina told a story about her latest villain takedown, he turned his head slightly toward you and signed with one hand:
The things Iâd do to you under this table would make you scream so loud theyâd kick us out.
You froze, chopsticks hovering mid-air. He didnât even blink, slurping his noodles like he hadnât just dropped a verbal nuke into your lap.
âWhatâs wrong?â Mina asked, noticing your deer-in-headlights expression.
âUh⊠spicy broth,â you choked out, grabbing your water and gulping it down.
Bakugou, still chewing, glanced at you out of the corner of his eye and added another one for good measure:
Bet I could make you cum without anyone noticing. Wanna test that theory?
You almost choked on your drink, coughing so hard Kirishima patted your back in concern.
At a charity event, he raised the bar again.
The ballroom was filled with reporters, politicians, and wealthy donors, all eager to mingle with Japanâs most famous heroes. Bakugou hated these events with a burning passion, but at least you were there to make it tolerable.
You stood beside him, chatting politely with a group of businessmen, when you felt his gaze on you. Slowly, you turned your head, already dreading what was coming.
He didnât disappoint. With the straightest face youâd ever seen, he signed:
Youâd look so much better on your knees, with my cock down your throat, than in that dress.
Your hand shot out, nearly spilling your champagne as you fumbled to keep your composure. The Pro Hero you were speaking to paused mid-sentence, giving you a concerned look.
âAre you alright, maâam?â
âIâIâm fine,â you stuttered, setting the glass down before you could break it.
Bakugou tilted his head innocently, signing again:
Bet youâd love it if I bent you over that balcony upstairs. Bet youâd be dripping by the time I was done.
Your jaw dropped, and you 'accidentally' kicked his shin under the table. He didnât even flinch.
It wasnât just formal settings, either. Bakugou would strike anywhere.
During a team training session, you were sparring with Kaminari while Bakugou watched from the sidelines. When you finally landed a clean hit, knocking Kaminari flat on his ass, Bakugou clapped slowly, catching your attention.
Wanna know what else you could knock flat? Me. On my back. With you riding me till I forget my own goddamn name.
Your sparring stance faltered, and Kaminari took the opportunity to trip you.
âHey, you alright?â he asked, offering a hand to help you up.
âIâm fine!â you snapped, shooting a glare at Bakugou, who was grinning like heâd just won the lottery.
The worst of all came during a live broadcast.
The Hero Public Safety Commission had organized a televised Q&A with Japanâs top heroes. You sat between Bakugou and Midoriya, fielding questions from both the moderator and the live audience. Bakugou had been unusually quiet for most of the event, arms crossed, eyes half-lidded.
But then, while the moderator addressed Midoriya, Bakugou caught your attention.
His hands moved lazily, almost imperceptibly, as he signed:
After this, Iâm gonna pin you to the wall in the dressing room and fuck you so hard you wonât be able to walk out of here straight.
Your eyes widened, and you immediately looked away, heart hammering in your chest.
âAnd what about you?â the moderator asked, pulling your attention back to the present.
âIâIâm sorry, could you repeat the question?â you stammered, cheeks flaming.
Beside you, Bakugou leaned back in his chair, smirking as the moderator repeated the question. His hands shifted again, just enough for you to catch his next message:
If you blush any harder, theyâre gonna think youâre into this.
You resisted the urge to scream.
Because, for Bakugou, nothing was funnier than watching you squirm. And knowing you were the only one who could decode his filthy little secrets? That was just the icing on the cake.
âŠ..
Over time, the signing became a secret game. A language only the two of you shared, even if it was insanely one sided. In battle, it was strategicâefficient, silent communication when words couldnât cut through the noise. Off the field? It was something else entirely.
After a particularly grueling patrol, Bakugou flopped onto the couch beside you, tugging his hearing aids out and tossing them onto the table.
âAnother shitty day,â he muttered.
You hummed in agreement, leaning against him.
Without thinking, he signed: Youâre the only thing that doesnât piss me off.
You blinked, caught off guard. âWhat?â
He smirked, shaking his head. âNothinâ, Cupcake. Just watch the TV..â
And for once, you didnât press.
Because sometimes, silence said enough.
