Where were all of y’all complaining about losing your “blonde representation” when Ben Barnes was cast as Caspian???? Man’s blonde in the books, so is Lucy.

I LOVE THESE TWO SO VERY MUCH.
Erionwë, the general with a knack for poetry and Elarien, Enna's bestie. The Valar knew what they were doing when they paired these two up. They're clearly thinking of one another in this edit. They're so precious. Their baby girl is too. Their snippet is still in the works, but, hey, I hope you like this edit of them.

Screenrant did a fancast for Greta Gerwig's Narnia movies and most of it is bad (Margot Robbie as the white witch??? Will Ferrell as Reepicheep?????) but the part that really just baffles me is their casting of the Pevensies.
We've got May Nivola as Lucy Sam Nivola as Edmund Lucas Hedges as Peter and Saoirse Ronan as Susan.
And the main thing here is the ages. May Nivola is 12. Right off the bat, that's too old. I don't mind messing with the character's ages a little bit, like the Disney movies did (where Peter is 15 as opposed to 13 or something like that). If they were filming right now, you could maybe make a 12 year old Lucy work if she's able to play a little younger, but its really pushing it and filming even as soon as a year from now is optimistic. Then Sam Nivola is 19. If you had him for Peter, that could work. Age the character up some but not too much, and have the actor pass for younger. But then the actors they cast for Peter and Susan are 26 and 29 respectively. For characters that are supposed to be 13 and 12.
And weirdly the article doesn't even mention the ages. They aren't like pitching a new version of the story where two of the Pevensies are 18 and 19 or anything like that and they do refer to them as the Pevensie kids. They just suggested Saorise Ronan as if that was a totally normal pick for a 12 year old character.
ScreenRant. What are you doing. Did you forget kids exist?

This *isn't* Tortall but maybe you'd be down to do it anyway? I'd love to see fancasts for Jill Pole, Aravis, Lasaraleen, Cor and Corin but most especially Jill.
Honestly I'm no longer familiar enough with the Narnia books to have any good fancast thoughts on them. I loved them as a kid, and I think the movies are gorgeous, but I don't really have thoughts on anyone outside the Pevensies.

little pet peeve i've been contemplating whether or not i should put out into the world in fear of the fandom's wrath but here goes nothing
i HATE how i'm unable to go anywhere in any fandom of a media that has literally any of the popular marauder fancasts without the comments/replies/whatevers being filled with marauder stans drowning out the actual fandom i'm trying to interact with
don't get me wrong, i dont have beef with the fandom itself or the fancasts, i'm in the fandom
and ik it seems like not a big deal, like just ignore those comments or whatever, but it's everywhere on an almost daily basis and i'm fucking tired bro T-T
like no, this is not a remus edit, THAT'S PETER PARKER
no, my friend, that is not sirius, that's caspian
ik it's just the loud minority, but man are they LOUD

Thank you for answering the Plutarch fancast :) How about President Snow and Coin?
Okay, now we are heading from "Marie has had a powerpoint for this specific topic" to very uncharted waters. So this is all just pure vibes, nothing else. I also wouldn't mind recasting the previous actors. They worked just fine and if both are willed to reprise their roles, why not?
For President Snow, I was thinking Christopher Walken. I cannot tell you if I've ever seen a Walken movie, I cannot tell you that I have. But I like this man's vibes. This man has rather sharp features, all of which fit to Snow. A sharp nose, bold lips, and a sharp gaze. Part of it is just genetics luck, part of it is his demeanour. Really, his gaze and the lips are fairly important, and I want a new thg movie to go all out with the scariness of Snow in regards to how artificial he looks. I'm sure the makeup team will have a good day with Walken.

Alma Coin... This one's for our Tumblr wlw folks. I initially thought about Tilda Swinton, but then I thought... why not more sapphic? So Cate Blanchett it is. The reason why I want Alma Coin to be a win for wlw women everywhere is because I can see the appeal of this character. Strong female character who needs no men... So why not interested in women? I want the thg fanbase of lesbians to go nuts over Alma Coin, and Cate Blanchett being Cate Blanchett just fits. She can still look villainous, still has quite that sharp edge that makes her look that part, but if we inevitably will get straights who want to be kissed by Mr. Dictator right over there, then us wlws deserve something good. And that good is the implication that Alma Coin fucks ;)
