I LOVE THESE TWO SO VERY MUCH.
Erionwë, the general with a knack for poetry and Elarien, Enna's bestie. The Valar knew what they were doing when they paired these two up. They're clearly thinking of one another in this edit. They're so precious. Their baby girl is too. Their snippet is still in the works, but, hey, I hope you like this edit of them.

Currently writing a snippet about these two because I really need to start developing characters that are not Elenwë and/or their family. My second favorite Maiarin/Human couple. Ëonwë's youngest general and Enna's bestie.
Starring William Moseley as Erionwë & Pelin Karahan as Elarien. I still haven't thought about a ship name for these two lovely babies, but I think Elarië would be a decent one? Erionwen?
I also changed things up and decided Giluen will be their daughter. She was originally supposed to Enna's daughter from her marriage to Elphirion (and Anárion's twin sister), but I think she works much better as Erionwë's only daughter (I don't think he and Elarien will have more).
Tumblr media
That's my faceclaim for baby/young Giluen and I think she's perfect. She looks like Elarien (I think it kind of helps that the actress plays a young version of Pelin's character in her show). She obviously gets her hair color from her dad. Though she's half-Maia and half-Human, she is included in my Gondorian ocs profiles.
That's it for today's PSA!

OC: Elarien
I'm answering this ask at last! It's been in my inbox for...over a month, I think? It's probably not much information, but I can definitely tell you something about her. I'm sure I'll come up with more backstory for her once I start working on my Ërionwë/Elarien one-shot (I jotted down a few sentences, but, as of now, it's not really done...I need to develop Erionwë as well and it will take me some time).
Elarien was born TA 3017 to Halbarad (canon character of course) and Maevlin.
My personal fancast for Halbarad is Mads Mikkelsen, especially his role as Tristan in King Arthur (the 2004 movie). Mads is one of my favorite actors and I loved Tristan so much. Also, Mads is Danish, Viggo is Danish, they're apparently friends and...I thought his whole vibe just fit the character.
Tumblr media
This is Maevlin btw (fancast: Berrak Tüzünataç aka Mihrünnisa Sultan in MC; Mustafa's wife.)
Tumblr media
Elarien has an older sister, Eledhwen, who was born in TA 3014 (fancast: Sarah Bolger as Mary I in The Tudors)
Tumblr media
Elarien is Pelin Karahan as Mihrimah Sultan in MC.
Tumblr media
Of course Halbarad died during the battle of the Pelennor Fields and his daughters were five and two years old respectively when he died.
While Eledhwen kind of remembers him, Elarien does not remember him at all and kind of blames Aragorn for her father's death. Maevlin relocated to Minas Tirith following the coronation upon his insistence (Halbarad was Aragorn's right hand and the newly crowned King of Gondor was close with the whole family) and sold most of Halbarad's possessions because she just could not handle the grief of losing her husband. Maevlin suffers from depression (most people don't understand her because I don't think people know about mental health in Middle-earth and Gondorians would not care about it at all) and doesn't live at court. She's very protective of her daughters (spoiler for chapter 4! she sent Elarien to the Houses of Healing just for a cold) and she basically lives for them. Although she loved Halbarad more than life itself, she does not blame Aragorn for his death and tries to convince her daughter to forgive him. Elarien respects his role as king but doesn't really respect Aragorn as a person. I wouldn't say she hates him, but she certainly doesn't want to be around him.
She was actually Aragorn's first choice as a bride for Eldarion—had she not been too old, he had probably gone for Eledhwen since she's way more assertive and compliant—but Elarien was not interested in marrying the Prince (smart choice) and so Aragorn went for Enna and the agreement between Aragorn and Faramir was made. Elarien thinks Eldarion is pathetic and tries to convince Enna to back out of the betrothal and nearly cries when they get married (she'll keep an eye on her and helps her in the aftermath of her miscarriage—yes, Enna does get pregnant during her marriage to Eldarion but no one knows until the day their marriage is annulled. Basically Eldarion hits her and pushes her and she loses the baby).
As far as her childhood goes, I can safely say Elarien doesn't suffer too much. She has her pet falcon (Halbarad had several and Elarien, contrarily to her sister, likes taking care of them. She likes all kinds of birds and also takes care of chickens and other animals. It's my headcanon that Halbarad and Maevlin lived in a rather warm area in the North close to the borders of the Shire and they had their own farm. Eledhwen loves animals too, but she's not as hands-on in taking care of them as her younger sister. Eledhwen is the kind of girl that cares about her dresses being perfectly clean and her hair being perfect, while Eledhwen, while respectful of protocol, is a lot more carefree. She loves her animals and would rather play with them. When she's five or six, she learns to ride her father's horse (he doesn't have a name yet, but I'll come up with one) and also starts raining with her bow. She likes archery and becomes proficient at it pretty quickly. All of this will be explained either in flashback or through conversations since Elarien is a teenager when we first meet her in the story. She'll probably take Enna to her house and give her a farm tour in an effort to make her forget about her troubles.
Maevlin tries to be a good mother to her girls, but she's often catatonic and simply not there mentally, so both Eledhwen and Elarien learn to cook and clean at a very young age. It's my headcanon that that the noble people of Arnor don't really have a household and the task of raising children and running errands suddenly falls upon the parents. They basically live like normal people and they're much more attuned to the common folk's needs than the nobility of Southern Gondor. They are rangers living in houses or mansions basically. They're completely capable of fending for themselves and don't have guards or people to protect them. Eledhwen and Elarien learn to wield daggers and knives too and Elarien takes up swordsmanship in addition to archery. She's not the best at it but she really wants to learn and a certain Maia will help her...later on. Oh, she's a major Elenwë shipper. Major.
Contrarily to the customs that ladies are expected to follow in Southern Gondor, noblewomen in Arnor can have male friends and it is not frowned upon for girls to "hang out" with boys outside of formal functions and they don't have to be escorted by family members when hanging out with their male friends. Though Elarien doesn't live in the Arnor area, she often visits her relatives throughout her childhood and makes several friends—both male and female—and gets acquainted with hobbits due to the proximity of her home to the Shire. Her hobbit friends came to her house nearly every month and that is how she learned of hobbit customs and of the Ringbearers, who are revered among groups of young and adventurous hobbits. It's safe to say that she probably knows more about what happened during the war than Enna does and I think she will become instrumental in ensuring that good relations are maintained between the people of Gondor and those of the Shire (she has huge influence on Enna...on some matters).
Since the ask is about her childhood, I'd say I'm done, but I do have a few headcanons about her relationship with Erionwë. I won't talk about them here, but you're very welcome to ask if you want 🤣
Thank you again for the ask and I'm sorry it took me so long to answer it!

Which of your OCs are you most eager for people to get to know?
...and...
Which of your faceclaims is your personal favorite?
Sending love and plenty of creative energy! ❤️
Hi! Believe it or not, this is a very difficult question although I'm very glad you asked it. I love being asked questions about my writings so I'll try my best to provide you with a satisfactory answer. I think I love all of my OCs— some of them are good people while some of them are simply obnoxious — but they all serve a purpose in my story, so it's really hard for me to actively dislike someone and I'm eager for people to get to know them all so that they can make their own decision and maybe pick their own favorite!
-Elarien (faceclaim: Pelin Karahan)
I think my favorite OCs in The Lady of Ithilien are the following characters (I'm also including their faceclaims):
Tumblr media
She's showing up in the next upcoming chapter (chapter 4) and she's definitely one of my favorites. Let me tell you a little bit a about her background (if you're reading the fic or are interested in reading it, perhaps you might want to skip this paragraph as it contains spoilers. If you don't care and want to know more regardless, you're very welcome to keep reading 😊).
Elarien is Halbarad's youngest daughter and is one of Elenna's (my main OC) best friends. Well, technically at this point in the story they're getting acquainted and Elarien wants to strike up a friendship with Elenna. Elarien doesn't particularly like being in Minas Tirith and strongly resents Aragorn because she blames him for her father's death. She's confident but not cocky. She never talks down to anyone and is very kind. She's very independent as well.
-Eledhwen (faceclaim: Sarah Bolger)
Eledhwen is Elarien's older sister. At this point in the story she lives in the North (presumably Annúminas, I haven't decided that yet) with her Haradrim husband. After said husband passes away, she joins her sister in Minas Tirith and gets to meet Elenna. She's also confident and determined, but she's less fiery than her younger sister and has a good relationship with Aragorn. That's the main difference between the two, I think.
Tumblr media
-Erionwë (faceclaim: William Moseley)
He's the youngest general in the Maiarin army. He worships Eönwë (as he should imo) and has a platonic crush on Elenna. He's really sweet and a bit naïve at times. He'll come to Middle-earth for Eönwë and Elenna's wedding in about ten years time. I think he's my favorite general in terms of likeability (there's three more).
Tumblr media
-Silnur (adult faceclaim: Jacob Dudman; I don't know the name of the child actor I picked as I couldn't find it anywhere. I just saw the pic and went "oh, that's him")
He's the youngest Maia in all of Valinor and Eönwë's ward. He adores flowers and making people happy. He's a cute cinnamon roll.
Tumblr media
Last but not least... Elenwë's children:
Tumblr media
Faceclaims:
Mírion: Louis Partridge
Éowyn: Grace May Oleary
Eglantine: Amelie Child Villiers
Elanorellë: I swear I can't find the name of the actress, but I'll update the post as soon as I find out
Vanya (her full name is actually Vanya Elestellë): again, I looked everywhere but I couldn't find her name. She's from the show Magnificent Century: Kösem (currently binging) and she plays Hanzade Sultan. Unfortunately her name doesn't appear in the cast lists I checked.
Faramir: Çağan Efe Ak
They also have another son (who is not in the edit because it was a late addition). He's born two years after Éowyn and his name is Boromir.
Boromir's faceclaim is Alihan Türkdemir
Tumblr media
HE'S SO CUTE!!! He's deserves his own gif.
These are my favorite characters/faceclaims, but as I said, I love all of my OCs!
Thank you for your question!
