We've had npd , hpd and aspd terms in the back of our mind [mildly bpd ones also however those tend to be easier to find lol] for a while as our traits impact a ton of our identity but I want to ask about that term since it's the one I can think of the most clearly

I hate the implication that abusers are a separate category of person who have completely different motivations and mindsets from Good Normal People.

People love terms like narcissist and psychotic and psychopath because its feels safe to shove abusers away into the Bad Brain category. But in reality if you can't think of abusers as regular people you'll never be able to see it when you or people you do consider normal about are acting in harmful or abusive ways
