Japanese First + Second Person Pronouns the Ancients and Beasts use!

*i have to clarify that these interpretations of the language they use is mine alone, and that what pronouns they use imply is highly situational!! The same pronoun can have different meanings depending on situation and who's using it, it's a bit complicated to explain.... it's very if you get it you get it (?)

*disclaimer no 2 i may be inaccurate in conveying some of the nuances and for that i apologize ;;

it'll go first person pronoun (I/me) first and then second person pronoun (you)

Pure Vanilla Cookie

僕 (boku), a more polite, somewhat gender neutral first person pronoun (although it's considered more masculine than feminine).

君 (kimi), a polite way of saying “you”.

Hollyberry Cookie

あたし (atashi), a more casual and informal feminine first person pronoun

あんた (anta), a more informal form of “anata (あなた)”, which is the classic way of saying "you" for a more feminine person

Dark Cacao Cookie

私 (watashi), a formal first person pronoun. Feminine-presenting people also use it casually, however with more masculine-leaning people like Dark Cacao it gives off an air of formality

お前 (omae), from someone like Dark Cacao, "omae" signals his high status as a king, and has an air of assertiveness. He’s also been shown to switch to the more rude 貴様 (kisama) when he hates someone/feels greatly offended

Golden Cheese Cookie

Uses the more polite and formal 私 (watashi) for the most part, however in informal settings with her fellow Ancients she uses the more casual あたし (atashi)

お前 (omae), it carries a similar meaning to Dark Cacao's use of "omae" for "you" in that it implies her high status. She still uses "omae" even with her friends, although in this case it could be interpreted as it's a very informal setting with people she's close to

White Lily Cookie

I think it's kinda interesting how, while the Beasts are opposites of the Ancients, some feel like reflections to Ancients they're not directly related to.

Starting with the pair that feels most obvious, Silent Salt and Dark Cacao. Their designs especially seem similar with the armor, sword, and color palette. Silence also feels like it can be related to Dark Cacao's isolation during his previous arc.

This feels the same as with Pure Vanilla and Mystic Flour. Again with their color palettes, but also with their religious theming, both being obligated to help all those that seek their guidance.

Again, mostly similar vibe with these two. You could even argue that Destruction can be considered an extention of Passion in a way. These next pairs get a bit weaker with their comparisons, which is why I started with the strongest ones first.

My comparisons for Golden Cheese and Eternal Sugar come down to both of them having wings and some speculation I have. "Eternal" I feel could imply abundance, which may be a motivation for Eternal Sugar's slothfulness. It's possible they simply have all they desire, thus no longer having the will to do anything.

Lastly, for White Lily Cookie and Shadow Milk, the biggest point of comparison I have is that Shadow Milk Cookie's theatrical presentation could also be considered an extention of freedom (especially since it's implied that he used to be an academic). This is the one I really stretch the most with, I'd say.

Why do I bring any of this up? What I think about these possible links is that the Beasts reflect what each of the Ancients could become, if taken to their logical extreme. Also, with those that share their Soul Jams being their opposites (Pure Vanilla being truth and Shadow Milk being deceit, etc.), it can imply that each of the Ancients are each other's opposites as well. Opposites that mesh well enough despite it, anyway.

I'm bad at analysis, so do what you will with this. I don't know if this is anything. Implications and whatnot.

THE MYSTIC FLOUR MUSIC WAS PLAYING DURING EPISODE NINE. oh my gosh. this means something — they wouldn't just play that specific music for no reason at all. clearly, ep 9 is meant to parallel ep 3, in a way. is it obvious? no. is the plot exactly the same? definitely not! but it has to mean something. they wouldn't just plant clues like this for no reason.

and yes, clues is plural.

there is, of course, the music. there's pavlova calling hollyberry hollow and cloud haetae teasing dark cacao's own morals and virtues in a very similar way. mystic flour and eternal sugar themselves even parallel each other, what with cookies constantly coming to them and asking for help and that being the catalyst for their corruption. even dark cacao and hollyberry parallel each other in this way.

wildberry parallels everyone dark cacao lost at the end of episode three. now, wildberry was healed. this is where, one could say, the line between dreams and reality is drawn. mystic flour did not have a paradise, really. eternal sugar did. that's why wildberry was healed; eternal sugar still cared about keeping the illusion steady. mystic flour did not care as much.

remember the pink fog at the end of episode nine? a device of symbolism. meant to parallel the plague. and, of course, hollyberry is left alone at the end of episode 9. dark cacao is left alone at the end of episode 3.

in episode 4 ... one could call it a "happy ending." happy ending is in quotes, you'll notice. that's because dark cacao is making it seem that way.

so in episode 10 ... will the paradise finally be crushed? no more lies? will it be a terrible ending, and will everybody know it?

I've thought about other Beast x Ancient fankid, yeah. But to be honest, I can't really see the other pairs with kids. To elaborate:

Dark Cacao is already a father, and his son is already an adult, at that. I think he's had his fill of raising kids by now (especially because he already didn't do the best job with Dark Choco. He'd probably worry he'd fuck up the next kid, too). I can't really see Mystic Flour wanting children, whether that be because she doesn't see the point or because she, too, fears that she would fail as a parent. It's easier/more suitable for Flour to accept Dark Choco as a son and for him to accept her as a mother figure imo. Best of both worlds: you can have a kid, and the kid is already grown so they don't need raising lol

Same deal with Hollyberry tbh. She's already a mother, she's already had her time in that world. Her son is a man with his own life and accomplishments; her job is done and she wants to relax now. Now that there's a heavy implication that Eternal Sugar is fond of children (and perhaps even wanted to be a mother herself), I think... she would've wanted to have a child with Hollyberry, and would be kind of sad that Holly doesn't agree. But she would make peace with it. It helps a lot that Pepper Jack and Matar Paneer are around, honestly; she loves being an auntie. They both do. And that's enough for them

Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla... That one's tough. I don't think Shadow Milk would be a good father tbh. He's already a deadbeat to Black Sapphire and Candy Apple, you know? Lol. Pure Vanilla is the opposite, he adores children and is great with them. I can see him wanting one with Shadow Milk; worrying it wouldn't go well, but wanting it nevertheless. The thought of having a happy family with his other half is an enticing one, even more so seeing their friends have one of their own. But it's a "two 'yes's" thing and Shadow Milk keeps saying no... It's the HollySugar dilemma but in reverse lol. The Ancient wants a kid but the Beast doesn't

Silent Salt and White Lily are the closest ones to that ideal imo. It's something Silent Salt sometimes dares to daydream about, even. But they're both so afraid, so nervous... They already think so little of themselves in general. They'd probably assume they'd be the worst parents ever. (They'd do just fine lol.) For now, they're content being Auntie Lily and Uncle Salt. But maybe someday...

... All of that just to turn around and say I thought of some kids anyway 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm a silly guy

MysticCacao kid would be Choco Tart

HollySugar/EternalBerry kids would be two daughters, Belladonna and Yew Berry

ShadowVanilla kid would be a son named Vanilla Cream

SilentLily kids would be a son named Fleur de Sel and a daughter named Salt Spray Rose (or Rugosa Rose, haven't decided yet)

None of them would be canon though, save for the last two 😅 but you're all welcome to ask about them anyway, if you're curious for some reason. (Otherwise I encourage you to go look at some other ShadowVanilla kids because they're actually very cool. @/justn0t has Panna Cotta Cookie and @/verystrangebun has Gold-Flecked Cookie, those two are my favorites)

Calling it right now,these(or least some of them) islands are gonna be play a role in future updates.I am sure everyone have already noticed that with each beast update,we get a side story connected to the main one.

First it was the white lily update,that introduced the beast lore and the fan favorite beast,Shadow milk.Then it followed by a side story update revealing dark enchantress making bodies for the beasts.

Second part of the main story was the mystic flour update,introducing one of the main villains as well as giving us more speculations for the future.Which bring us to now with another side story,introducing wind archer(my precious son) and the ultimate cookie.

Obviously,this came later down the line since it's more than likely the burning spice update will come after that.And after update is done will more than likely we get another side story that will focus on one of the other smaller islands.Because it seems like we are done with the lab...least for now.

It's a hunch but I feel the first nest will come much later since it seems to be something relating to the dragons and we all know they're gonna continue this story after all of the beasts are playable.So why not bring on the dragons?Dark enchantress is kinda getting stale,so it would be nice to get another main villain.I can see short lived saga with ultimate cookies but that's it.

The question remains whether or not,they will bring back the dragons from the original or make new ones is up for debate currently. Personally,I don't mind if they make new dragons because we are lacking in legendaries of different species.

Anyway,wow,this ended up being longer than expected lol.
