just had a thought of regulus accidentally wearing a gryffindor tie and marlene not paying that much attention to the fact his hair is shorter, his clothes are neater, and he isn't talking at all

and she thinks he's sirius so she starts ranting to him and telling him about how in love with dorcas she is and how although they've been hooking up for months, they aren't properly dating and she kinda wants to ask them out (regulus is very confused because dorcas is always talking about and mentioning marlene but she said they were enemies), and marlene asks if he sent an owl to that hot guy yet or not (regulus was not aware sirius was gay).

and after like 10 minutes of marlene-rambles, she notices he hasn't said a single word and is like "you're very quiet today, sirius" and regulus just stares at her in complete confusion about what this girl is doing, like he's just wondering if this a prank of some kind?

until marlene brings up a weird rash she has on her back and asks if he can look at it for her before and regulus just immediately runs away. marlene is sitting there so confused until sirius walks over from the other end of the corridor and marlene is wondering if she's started hallucinating.

(regulus proceeds to inform dorcas of marlene's request to properly date her. dorcas makes fun of him then goes to find marlene)

It was more than obvious to anyone but the two of you, much to the party’s displeasure. The mutual pining between you had been a constant back and forth for what felt like ages, and it was almost humorous how in denial it seemed you were.

Laios always spent time chatting with you before bed, his soft voice carrying so much warmth. You always noted how fuzzy your head felt whenever he’d talk about something he was especially interested in. It was almost heartbreaking to part with him to finally rest, longing to continue the conversation for as long as you could.

Little did the two of you know that the rest of the party had their eyes on you, tired sighs leaving each of them. This was every night now, and the fact neither of you were making an effort to come to terms and admit what you were feeling was beginning to become tiresome.

Chilchuck huffed, head in the palm of his hand. “I can’t believe that this is still going on. I’m tired of it.”

Marcille tutted, but the frustration at both of your ignorances was seeping through. “There’s got to be something we can do. They’re obviously so in love with each other...”

And right she was, with how absolutely enamored Laios had become. He’d never felt this way about anyone, the feeling seeping into his bones slowly but surely. With every smile you gave him, words of encouragement, or even reassuring touches, you made yourself at home in his mind and heart. Laios was content with just the whispered conversations and adventures together, not quite piecing together the entire situation just yet.

Marcille was not so sure that was something to be content with. Izutsumi was also getting fed up with the constant beating around the bush, and Chilchuck was sick and tired of watching this ordeal occur. The three of them had decided that enough was enough, and through gossip-like whispers, they decided on a course of action.

“I’ll try and talk to Laios,” Chilchuck settled, although he wasn’t entirely happy with the idea of helping an inner party relationship unfold. It was even harder to watch the two of you continuously pine after each other blindly, so he chose what he believed was the lesser of two evils. “You two convince you-know-who to get some one on one time with him somehow.”

Marcille hummed, finger tapping her chin. “Maybe we could get Senshi to cook something up just for the two of them, get them on a date of some sort.”

Izutsumi flicked her tail in annoyance at this entire scenario, before giving her own opinion. “Let’s just get them stuck in a trap or something.” At that, the elf across from her shook her head adamantly.

“Although that might work another time, I think setting them up would work best. We’ll all conveniently go off somewhere and leave the two of them to talk it out. Somehow…”

Thankfully, it wasn’t hard to get the two of you alone together. Laios would explain something about a monster your party had encountered earlier, delighted at your interest in anything he had to say. Before he knew it, the rest of the party had excused themselves after dinner, leaving just you and him with a cooked meal and unsaid words hanging in the air.

Even earlier, Chilchuck had decided to try and drill it into Laios’ skull that perhaps coming to terms and admitting what he was feeling wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Grasping for straws, Laios tried to create excuses that what he felt for you was just that of a close friend. There was no way he was falling in love, right? Yet, the look Chilchuck had given him shut him up quickly.

“You think friends just look at each other with that lovesick face you’re always making? And it’s not exactly hard to see just how much you care about them. It’s actually pretty obvious.” The half-foot grit out, floored that Laios still hadn’t figured out just how deeply he had fallen.

Marcille and Izutsumi had a similar problem with you, finding that you were convinced what you felt was just that of a deep friendship, of course you weren’t actually absolutely smitten with the man. Giving each other a knowing look, Marcille continued her prodding.

“I think there’s more to this,” the way she said your name so softly held your attention. “You need to talk with him. Maybe talk through just what you’re feeling.”

So now, as you took another bite of your dinner, you tried to figure out just what you were feeling. Laios was doing the same, and the silence, which was never a problem before, now hung with tension.

Both of you tried to speak, before signaling the other to continue, before giving a light laugh at the awkwardness. It wasn’t that just being in each other’s company was the problem, but more so that there was so much left unsaid.

Laios ran his hand through his hair, giving you that tender smile you had come to love so much. “You first.”

Another laugh left you, before your current train of thought followed through your words. “So I was wondering… Have you ever been in love before, Laios?”

That caught him off guard, swallowing hard before thinking of the right thing to say. “Well… I, uh…” A beat of silence followed as you let him find his words. “I wasn’t sure before today. What about you?”

Trying not to get your hopes up, or have the flame within you extinguished so easily, you smiled. “Same here, actually. I think…” You trailed off, just staring at his rosy cheeks and intent gaze making your heartbeat a little faster. Setting your plate to the side, you bit your tongue for a moment. Talk through what you’re feeling… You can do that.

“I guess I didn’t really realize, but… Lately, I’ve been really eager to be around you.” Your voice tried to fight back the tremors rising within you. Before you could continue, Laios grabbed your hand and gave you that intent expression again.

“Me too! I mean, I always really enjoy our talks. I look forward to them a lot.” He spoke a tad out of breath, trying to reign in how he was feeling. Another beat of silence, followed by the clearing of his throat.

“I think I’m in love with you.” You both muttered at the same time, before the feeling of both shock and excitement coursed through you. There was… no possible way, right? But with that doting smile and lovesick gaze he was sending your way, you began to think he did feel the same.

“Thank the gods,” you whispered, a huff of relief leaving your lips. “I had to have Marcille and Izutsumi make me realize.”

Laios laughed, cheeks flushed with delight. “Yeah, Chilchuck definitely gave me a talking to. I think Senshi tried to help me realize, too. It was definitely interesting.”

Both of you shared light giggles before Laios gently pulled you into an embrace. You wrapped your arms around his broad shoulders, nuzzling into his neck.

“Sorry it took me so long.” He whispered, inhaling deeply, the air leaving him in a content sigh. Your eyes fluttered shut, shaking your head slightly in reply. “No need. That’d mean I’d need to apologize too.”

You pressed sweet kisses to his cheek, to his nose, to his forehead. Laios beamed, intertwining your fingers as he spoke from the heart just what he had been trying to come to terms with. You did your best to do so, too.

Chilchuck, Marcille, Senshi, and Izutsumi all let out sounds of relief at watching the two of you around the corner. Getting both of you to finally realize the extent of your feelings was difficult, but oh so worth it in the end.

“Finally,” Chilchuck grumbled, before scratching the back of his neck. “That only took, what? Forever?”

Senshi grunted, trying to recall just how long it had been. Izutsumi even watched as Marcille rocked back and forth on her feet, a certain sparkle in her eye.

She’d have to get the two of you to be open more often.

I'm so glad that you liked it! Full disclosure I was a bit weirdly nervous about posting it because that's like the only piece I have so far that I didn't get a request for and just wrote because I felt like it.

Quality Time: He loves literally everything that has you two spending time together… talking you out on dates, having you tag along on his trouble causing, just hanging out while you’re partaking in your hobbies… as long as it’s time spent with you, it isn’t wasted. Even if you two are just chilling together he’s having a great time because it's you who’s there with him.

Words of affirmation: You can tell he loves you when he compliments you. He literally never compliments anybody, besides you and Err. His compliments are also more frequently based on ability or personality, rather than appearance. Ex. You’re getting good at that; I admire your ability to bring me joy; I like when you’re here with me

Physical Touch: Really handsy. Not big on grand displays of PDA But needs to have his hands on you somewhere so people know you’re his. Commonly seen with an arm loosely draped around your form, holding your hand, or resting a hand on your lower back. Very casual with affection

Acts of Service: He never does favors for anyone else, this is another point where you can tell he really cares for you. Even small things, like passing the salt at the dinner table would be refused for everyone except you

Giving/Receiving Gifts: Showers you in stolen gifts. Definitely steals things for you, and if you ask where it’s from he’ll say he found it. You both know he’s lying but if it’s Ignignokt you’re dating, you’re gonna have to get used to petty crime as a love language.

Quality Time: Err is another who’s pretty down to do anything as long as you’re also there. He doesn’t mind sitting back and letting you plan dates, although if you express interest in his opinion he’ll provide some ideas. If you ask him, the best dates are the ones you spend at home watching shitty movies and ordering dinner.

Words of Affirmation: Definitely the type to shower you in compliments. It’d range from joking, silly ones to tender and serious on the flip of a dime. The type to tell you you don’t stink too bad to I never realized somebody could be so sweet in the same breath.

Physical Touch: Hold him please. Err constantly and forever begging you to hold him. He loves being the ‘little spoon’ of the relationship. Expect tons of kisses, absolutely covering you in kisses… any kind anywhere. Also bites, he chews on you a lot. In the way a teething dog does.

Acts of Service: Very similar to Ignignokt in the way that he never does anything for anybody else besides you. Like, the smallest thing he gives a very emphatic no to unless you’re the one asking him to do it.

Favorite Characters:

1) Angel Dust, my beloved. He’s just such a complex character. While I am asexual, as someone who’s autistic and also had a ton of expectations thrust upon them I understand the feeling like you need to hide who you are. And then sometimes you wear a mask for so long it’s hard to get rid of.

2) Vox- such a loser, he sucks but is so fun to watch. So pathetic.

3) Niffty- she’s just silly and unhinged. Also I’ve been told that she’s kinda me (short, red hair, says weird ass shit, cleaning, her being drunk was literally just me high or sleep deprived). Plus she killed Adam and hurt Valentino, which is a win.

4) Husk- I’m so interested in his past. Man has skills!! Plus he acts at the straight-man a lot of the time which is great with the chaos in the the hotel. Also the angst. + I’m obsessed with Huskerdust so that made me love him even more.

5) Emily- she’s just so sweet!! Smol bean. Innocent cinnamon roll. The realization that the system you’ve worked for for so long is corrupt. I really want to see her growth!

Also, while they haven’t had much of a roll yet I am obsessed with the spider family.

I promised to ramble 'bout Carl The Collector so I will give it to ya.

The first time I ever saw this series was when there was a news clip mentioning it on Youtube. It both had the words, "autism", and "raccoon".

And I swear, by the time I saw that clip...boy, I was already smiling and becoming an tbh creature.

BECAUSE GET THIS, but Carl (main protagonist of the show, hence, "Carl The Collector") is THE lead character who has autism. I don't think ANY OTHER SHOW featured a lead with the spectrum disorder (correct me if i'm wrong).

AND HE'S ALSO A FUCKING RACCOON, which...

I think you can probably tell they're my second favorite animal (IF YKYK!).

I would also like to ramble 'bout the design.

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ART STYLE AND DESIGNNNNNNNNN-

You keep it simple for kids, but it's also FUCKING adorable nonetheless (for me cause I LOVE looking at different art styles)

AND I KNOW ITS FOR FUCKING BABIES AND KIDS (since it's on PBS Kids) but my autistic ass can't help but really like the design of him and the art style applied.

hello!!!!! this is actually the first ask i've gotten so thank you!!!!! so this au actually has a fic with it (Stop Being Steven?) ig i didnt make that very clear lols!! so anyways,, this au is a canon divergence from the scene at the beginning of everythings fine,, after stevo sees his diamond eyes he unfuses!! so basically the human half is called star and the gem is cosmo! ill give the rundown of each of them

Star: he is the human half, he holds all the memories of steven and is mentally more similar to him, he can leech energy from Cos thru physical touch like a magical pink phone charger (lol) he's more mellowed out that steven and deadpans a lot,, also he has insane sleep debt so he can be really sluggish and eepy(he's a chronic napper) he is more the driver of their unfusion--> he doesn't want to be like the other diamonds,, like his mom, so he blames his gem-ness for it and forces their unfusion// he has adhd,, he loves Connie a lot and he goes from "i hate my life, i hate everything" to "OMG CONNIE :333 !!!!"

Cosmo: HE IS THE GOOBER EVER!!! okay so back on track,, he is the gem half (inspired by aster from Change My Mind by love_lucigoosey) basically he has none of steven's memories,, but he knows like basic gem stuff like the diamonds, gem history, and the pd reveal, etc... while fused he basically was just chilling in the mindscape so he doesn't rlly know any human things,, similar to how rose behaved when she first travelled the earth,, he's very naive and less deadpan than the typical depiction of P!steven. he is also extremely autistic,, he has trouble telling how he feels. cos has an overwhelming need to protect and care for star because that's what he believes his purpose to be->so when he realized that being steven was making star unhappy,, he decided it was fine for them to stay unfused (that's my excuse for him not feeling the need for them to re-fuse) he also can behave more like classic steven sometimes and people find it uncanny (Connie gets mad nostalgic) he also has feeling for Connie but bro doesnt know that is what that feeling is so he doesn't know how to act// the only thing from outside the mindscape that he perceives are steven's abstract emotions,, and those determine how he supplies the powers (ex: steven gets stressed out, Cosmo feels his distress-> BOOM! pink powers// so they're not a conscious choice of steven,, so once he learned how to control his emotions he could just have the emotion tied to the certain power he needed, he could do it at will)

Their dynamic and stuff like that: steven in my hc has audhd soooo each steeb got one// i wanna make this clear that star and cosmo are not a romantic dynamic (i am so annoyed that i have to clarify this :/) they have a deep(PLATONIC) love and care for each other, they're like brothers!! the bros ever!!!! also star is NOT steven and he gets very upset when someone makes the comparison,, both halves completely lose their emotion filter while split so they can seem extremely emotional and dramatic but its really just them expressing stevens bottled up emotions// after their initial freakout they're really just chill bros,,

OTHER SILLY STUFF: Star has a navy blue hoodie he always wears like a security blanket,, Star prefers wired earbuds and Cosmo prefers over the ear headphones (he's not used to so much sensory input after being in relative silence for 16 years)
