Y/N L/N’s sophomore album, Lust for Life debuted in February of 1977. Charting at number one, the title track Lust for Life ft. Billy Dunne became her second hit single, and the demand for more was at an all time high.

Y/N: “Everyone…loved the album.”

“It had a total of twenty tracks. For the most part…it did not sound like a rock album. Teddy and the other executives were afraid that if I strayed too far from my ‘original’ sound the album wouldn’t sell. But, I still got some rock aspects into it.”

“Three tracks were full rock songs. Those were my favorite.

“But they weren’t…everyone’s favorite.”

“Everyone’s favorite was Lust for Life.”

“That’s probably one of my least favorites.”

It had been a week since the album dropped, and you should’ve been ecstatic. It was doing well on the charts, all the radios were playing it, you had interviews and performances scheduled.

You should’ve been happy.

But you weren’t.

Instead, you were miserable.

Billy had been freezing you out for days, and you didn’t know why. It all started when he came back home one night, completely pissed off. It was a complete 180 of how he was acting just a few weeks ago.

You heard the door open that then shut. “Billy?..” you say groggily, rubbing your eyes as you get up from the bed. “Billy is that you?”

You stumble into the kitchen and see Billy standing in front of the counter. Not thinking anything of it, you wrap your arms around him. But he’s quick to push you away.

“Billy? What’s wrong?” you say in a concerned voice. “Nothing…just…go back to bed. I’ll be there soon,” he says, waving you away.

“Billy please talk to me, what’s-“

“God can you be anymore annoying? Just back off okay?” he says as he turns to face you, clearly very annoyed.

You look at him with confusion in your eyes. You hadn’t done anything to him. But then you caught a glimpse of his neck and collar.

Oh.

“Sorry..” you mumble out as you start to head back to the bedroom.

You cried yourself to sleep that night. Why did he do that? Did he think you weren’t enough? Were you not enough for him? Were you not pretty enough? Thin enough?

“Why can’t I be enough?”

Y/N: “….I think a lot of people forget that I was in my early 20s when I started dating Billy. Well…dating isn’t the best word for whatever we had going on, but…whatever.”

“But like I said, a lot of people forget that. They forget that I had just turned 20 and Billy was in his late twenties. It doesn’t sound like that big of a difference on paper, but…it was. It really was.”

Billy: “I never had an issue with our gap, she was…mature for her age. And plus it’s not like it was uncommon for a younger girl to be with a slightly older guy, that’s just how things were back then.”

“….But I won’t deny it, I definitely…didn’t treat her as well as I should have.”

You were both on set for the Lust for Life music video. You and Billy. For the song you wrote together, for the song you both sang together.

Everyone could feel the tension between the two of you the minute you both arrived on set. Thankfully, you were both whisked away to wardrobe and makeup.

And thank goodness you both had separate rooms.

“Y/n we’re ready for you” you hear your manager’s assistant say.

Your stylist puts the final touches on you and send you out.

You were in a simple red dress with long sleeves with white lace gloves and a matching red headband in your hair while Billy has on an all black suit and his signature sunglasses on.

God he looks good.

“Alright, Y/n, Billy! Take your places and we’ll start rolling!”

You both nod and take your places.

“Y/n, you both are singing live, right?”

“Yup!” you call out from your position in front of your microphone.

“Alright people! Final checks!”

While they were doing final checks, you glance over at Billy and then quickly glance back down to your shoes when you realize he was looking at you.

“Alright! Y/n, ready?”

You nod and give a thumbs up.

“Billy?”

He nods.

“And we are rolling in five, four, three, two…”

It was all going smoothly, perfect even.

Except when it came to do the part with you and Billy singing to eachother.

“You’re messing everything up” Billy murmurs as he walks past you.

“How am I messing everything up?” you say as you start following him.

“You’re starting too early, you’re going ahead of the backing vocals, plus you’re standing way too close to me.”

You look at him with confusion in your eyes, you weren’t starting too early, you started perfectly on cue.

“What- What is your problem?”

“What do you mean.”

“This. This whole attitude! I didn’t do anything to you!”

“Lower your voice babydoll”

You scoff, how can he have the audacity to call you ‘babydoll’ right now?

“No! Not til you tell me what’s wrong!”

Billy groans and grabs your wrist, dragging you behind one of the trailers.

You yank your hand away from him and cross your arms.

“Billy, please tell me what’s wrong. Did I do something?”

“Yeah, you’re being fucking annoying that’s what.”

You look at him with hurt in your eyes, what the fuck.

“You’re always so clingy, always acting like some kid that’s desperate for attention. It’s fucking annoying.”

You don’t know what to say, he’s never had a problem with you being clingy, but you haven’t even been clingy to him these past few weeks. You’ve been giving him his space.

“Oh. Sorry…” you murmur out, looking down at your shoes as you hold back tears. Billy rolls his eyes and then walks off, leaving you behind the trailer. And the minute he leaves, you breakdown in tears, why couldn’t you be enough for him?

Y/N: “I really hated that shoot. The video came out…fine but…I hated shooting it.”

“Not just because of the whole…Billy ordeal, it was just- a stressful shoot.”

“But after the video aired, it took off, I got a spot on Saturday Night Live because of it.”

“But…like the video…I-I didn’t really like the performance I gave.”

You had just come off stage after successfully performing ‘all-american bitch’. You were covered cake, but the audience absolutely loved it.

Now you had to get ready for the second performance, a mashup performance of Lust for Life and Groupie Love with Billy and the band.

Once you were done in hair and makeup, you went to go look for Billy, you wanted him to see you in your little white lace dress and with the daisies in your hair, and you wanted to just check up on him.

As you approached his dressing room you could hear soft moans and groans.

A feeling of dread filled your body. Hesitantly, you opened the door slightly, your stomach churned as you saw clothes scattered all over the floor. Then you opened the door all the way.

He was hooking up with some random girl.

“Billy?” you say softly, frozen in place.

Billy froze.

“Shit…” he said under his breath as he pulled away from the girl.

“Sorry…I-I didn’t mean- I- w-we’re on in five.”

You quickly closed the door and ran down the hall back to your green room, you heard him screaming your name while you did.

The minute you got to your room, you locked the door and broke down. Then you spotted a fresh bottle of champagne placed on your vanity, it was probably for after the show…but the temptation was too high.

You grab it and open it, drinking the liquid straight from the bottle.

Y/N/: “I don’t remember it that well, the performance. My words were all slurred, my vision was blurry, the lights were too bright, the sound was way too loud, I couldn’t focus, I was…afraid and heartbroken.”

“The funny thing is…people…liked it. They enjoyed the performance. Hell…a lot of people thought and still think the runny mascara was a style choice….they didn’t know I was crying for over fifteen minutes. They didn’t know we had to delay our performance because of it.”

“It was the first time I caught Billy in the act of cheating. It wouldn’t be the last. It was the first time I also performed drunk. I wouldn’t be the last either.”

“But I still stayed with Billy.”

After @seokoilua posted about the My Life, My Music interview (a while ago, this post is partially from my drafts!) I went to relisten to it. And in general it is a very fun interview with a lot of insightful moments about their creation process (Ne Bi Smel in particular) and the mixing process for example. Their voices in general are very soft (in tone, not volume) especially when talking to each other and the vibe is 🥰 I wanted to highlights some of my favourite moments because I want more people to know about them:

2:35 - They talk a bit about doing many concerts in a row and Kris says: "At one point in the summer we had four consecutive days of concerts and the fourth day was already the wors-" (gets cut of by Bojan). Knowing they have now done 7 concerts in 6 days during the nordic tour this is a little funny and a little sad to hear :(

3:59 - Not necessarily a moment but the first song (chosen by Bojan) is Ni Panike by Masayah and I think more people should go listen to Masayah so I'm including it >:)

14:30 - Ne Bi Smel was first called "burning room" and, quoting Bojan, "it couldn't have been more of an Ed Sheeran song." It sounds like the rest was not initially impressed: "and when I brought it to the rehearsal room the boys were like, yeah, hm, yeah no. and I think Jure just started banging on the drums and the guys took on the guitars and started playing some riff."

15:35 - The host asks a question about something they said somewhere else and Bojan and Kris argue a bit about who said that in the first place. It's very cute and my favourite moment is Bojan whispering at the end "I don't think so" because of course he needs to get last word in

21:34 - Hater!Kris returns because apparently he sends "not to appealing" songs to the groupchat?

Kris (about Jet Black Diamonds): The first time that we heard them it was their first single Retro Anorak, and I remember sending over the video to the guys in the group chat and I was like "oh, this is interesting," because usually I send some really… not too- Host: Obscure Kris: No no. Not too appealing Slovenian songs, because- Bojan: Yeah, Kris does that Kris: to be honest there's loads of them and I keep kinda getting them recommended somehow on Facebook or I dunno, it's like a positive feedback loop

Honestly the most surprising thing to me about this is that in the year of our lord 2022 Kris still used Facebook actively enough to stumble across things like that

23:56 - Kris talks about forming Buržoazija and how his guitar instructor recommended Jan: "Jan at that point was really like- I didn't really understand what he was about, he was like an introverted guy, really, also listening to a lot of metal and I was like "okaaay? I guess we'll try?" and then we started to practice and really got along."

25:45 - Luka (Apokalipsa's guitar player) and Martin already knew how to play and Bojan didn't and that's how they decided that he should sing. Also their first performance (also up on youtube, baby Bojči is very cute) was two (2!!) weeks after they started practising together

28:49 - About creating outside of Slovenia

Host: Is there something specific that you haven't yet done that you are desperately keen to do, or is this gonna gently evolve? Bojan: I dunno about the desperately want to do, I guess one thing we "truly desperately want to do" is go out of Slovenia to create. To try a new space. So go to a studio somewhere outside of our borders and see if the mindflow is different there. That is the only thing I can think of right now. CONCLUSION:

while the amount of screen time in percentage is similar between the seasons, s2 has significantly fewer scenes with stede and ed. additionally, the time they spend together per episode in s1 is much longer than in s2, and the scenes are stretched out throughout the episodes evenly. even during s1ep8, in which they share the least amount of screen time due to being separated, stede and ed still share 5 scenes, unlike s2ep5 which separates them for the longest amount of time (20 minutes!)

so far in s2, stede and ed share way less scenes than in s1, and when they do, they are shorter and often oddly spaced. for me, the best laid out episode is episode 4, while the worst is episode 5. interestingly, they share the least amount of screen time (after ed wakes up) in ep6, despite having the love scene in it. in my opinion, most of their scenes in s2 feel less earnest than in s1, and are so short i can barely savor them. this is ultimately the result of hbo cutting off two episodes, but also an issue of giving the crew too much spotlight, making stede and ed's plot line feel rush and poorly planned post ep3.

GEN V (The Boys SPINOFF) SEASON 1 WARNINGS

This list, alongside auditory or visual scenes (and anything adjacent), will include mentions of sensitive words as well, so the post is a little long.

I try to give a couple seconds of leeway, so when you click to my timestamp, you don’t accidentally catch the end of a scene you wanted to skip. Hope this helps somebody!

To start off, Gen V includes themes of ED, so stay safe if that is triggering. This is especially prominent in episodes 2 and 3.

For some context, without giving anything away, a majority of this involves a particular character, Emma, whose powers revolve around ingesting/expelling food in order to change size – unfortunately involving v*ing, in an ED kind of way.

E1:

- At 30:27, Emma begins her ritual to become small. Nothing happens until 31:04, after Emma drinks her water. It’s mainly auditory (visual of the act is mostly obscured but obvious) and ends at ~31:31 (when you see a skyline, you’re good).

E2:

- At 21:53, Emma discloses the nature of her powers. Nothing graphic, only sensitive word is p**ge, but Justine does make a suggestive finger gesture. Just a mention, and the topic changes at 22:24.

- At 27:21, a student makes a mocking finger gesture and simulates r* sounds toward Emma. This ends at 27:29.

- Then, at 27:40, after the line “Can I please see the phone?” Justine publicly exposes the nature of Emma’s powers, using the phrase t* up. Just a mention, and this ends at 27:47.

- At 28:24, after Justine says “Just Nancy Reagan that sh*t”, Harper g*s on her tail. This lasts maybe 2 seconds and ends when Emma comes into the room.

- At about 39:42, the scene begins to pan between Marie contemplating slicing her hand, and Emma v*ing. I’d advise pausing when Marie sits on the floor which will give you a few seconds – this scene is VERY graphic visually and audibly. It ends at 40:19 (when you see Marie at a door, you’re safe).

- At 42:56, a security guard sucks off a flashlight and kind of g*s on it. I didn’t think it was particularly triggering but I’ll put it here just in case.

E3:

The topic of ED and Justine’s exposé comes up a lot during this episode. I’ll note down anything specifically emeto-centric. Nothing explicit happens in this episode, only mentions.

- At 5:48, they discuss the nature of Emma’s powers, without any graphic words. Topic ends at 6:53.

- At 25:15 after Emma’s mom says “and I think that this could help you in a million ways”, Emma discloses that her mom is who “taught her”, using the v* and b* word. It ends at 25:37 when Emma gets up from her seat.

- At 27:18, after Emma says her name, there is some pause, and then she says the p* word. It ends at 27:25.

- At 42:30, after Sam says “like Alice in Wonderland”, Emma says the p* word. It ends at 42:35.

E4:

- During the recap, at 0:24 after Emma says “I have been dying to meet you” we get a repeat v* scene from E1. It ends at 0:29.

- At 20:24, after Sam says “But I’m sick in the head”, they bring up Emma’s powers during their conversation, specifically using the p* word multiple times, getting pretty gross during the last 2 mentions. It’s specifically said at 20:27-20:34 and 20:48-20:53, and then 22:25-20:32.

E5:

- At 4:41, after Emma says, “Do your girl a solid and choke me out of my f—ing misery?” she says the p* word. Scene ends at 4:50.

- At 7:31, after Sam says “especially after you stopped me from doing something terrible”, he mentions t* up. Ends at 7:38.

E6:

- At 34:27, Dr. Cardosa is talking about some anticipated side effects, one of which being “some v*.” Just an off-handed mention, ends at 34:34.

E7:

- At about 1:20, when the infected Supe comes out of the shadows (specifically at 1:38 after the newcomer says “What did they do to you?”), he r* blood in a way that could be alarming, along with some coughing and wheezing. This ends at 1:53, though you can still hear the wheezy breathing until 2:04.

E8:

- During the recap, at 0:46, after Grace says “What you’re describing, it’s g*nocide”, the scene from last episode appears. It ends at 0:50.

Days 29 - 56

Today is day 29 of my HRT diary! Holy shit! As of writing this, I have just taken my 5th injection.  Let's throw together a quick little list of the changes we've seen during month 1. 

Day 29

October 25th 2023

Hygiene: 

Looking into buying a new deodorant. Mine is slowly stopping working and I need to use so much more of it. My feet stink! I don't even wear socks or shoes. I never leave my house!!!!! This is wild. My body odor in my underarms is very much locker room stank, and my under-breasts smell like old taco bell. The amount of showers....JFC,

One inch of growth in the first month. Not mad about that at all. This thing is a plump little monster let me tell you. I get random erections, like a teenage boy. Sitting in the car? Erection that tingles and itches. Eating pizza with my family? Erection that makes me have to shift my weight, but I can't escape it! Crying over my broken bong? Yup. Erection there too. Fuck you, tick tack dick. 

I own an entire box of toys. I have a very healthy sex life and a partner who is more than willing to assist. But no matter what I try, it doesn’t STOP. And it’s not emotional its physical. I can FEEL this…..tingling? Fullness? I expected sensitive, and I expected wanting to have sex more. But being PHYSICALLY aroused more when I just wanna take a nap? Or watch tv?

Peeing is weird. I was just sitting on the toilet, peeing like one does, and I COUGHED. And my pee YEETED onto the wall instead of going in the toilet. Like....henh? The urethra in the AFAB anatomy isn't anywhere near the clit. The fuck is happening? Well. Whatever, guess this is life now. 

If my boobs don't stop feeling bruised soon I STG I might just cut them off myself. Holy fuck. Ow. 

Appetite: 

Early on I had some increased appetite that I actually benefitted from a lot. It helped me combat my ARFID ED, and was a welcome change. Though, now it's starting to taper out as nausea and PMS symptoms kick in. Hoping it comes back as my cycles hopefully cease.

Body Hair: 

Acne in places I never thought I would get it but here we are. Ass acne? Breast Acne? Thigh? Sure. I have Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), also called acne inversus, I'm used to that shit. But my NECK?! MY SCALP? MY FUCKIN ELBOW?! The hell?! 

Vocal:

Yeaaaaaaaaaa we dropped ya'll. I'm a raspy, cracky, little bitch but OH I am loving it. I can't wait to see where it settles.

Night 21-Morning of Day 22

Overnight my voice really started to drop into a raspiness. It's like the beginnings of Laryngitis but instead of squeaking I'm rasping. That said, the rasping feels soothing on those sore areas of my throat. Using my voice in this comfortable range seems to help progress it without hurting it.

I think my voice just DROPPED

My throat hit an all time sore today. 

I was rubbing it and gargling numbing medicine and water. I'd taken the max dosage allowed for OTC ibuprofen and Tylenol every 6 hours on the DOT. I even took an extra of my fibromyalgia pain management medication. I had trouble eating, vaping (nicotine), smoking (medical weed), and also literally had chose my food based on what would help my throat or at least not hurt it further. I even spent parts of the day silent and nonverbal to try to sooth it and let it rest. 

However, I found that to be counter productive. I realized that using my voice in a comfortable chest voice range helped to sooth some of the tenderness. So I sung some poor man's poison and some seether. Then I went back to not talking again. It just HURT all morning. It's even affected my sleep. The throat pain bothers me more than the clit sensitivity. 

Just now, before typing this, the pain started to subside and all of a sudden my voice is like gravely and feels like I'm talking from my breastbone and not my throat. 

October 17th 2023

Day 21

The sore throat is less intense and no where near as constant. It comes and goes and so does my voice. Sometimes its normal, sometimes raspy.

Body General:

My mother noticed a change in my face shape during a video call. She said I look more like my father. 

I've noticed a change in my over all torso shape, however I'm not sure if it's due to weight loss, as I've lost 20 lbs, or the T redistributing things. Could be both I suppose. 

Menstruation:

I took pregnancy tests every single day I was late to be safe. All remained negative

After being intimate with my partner this morning, she informed me there was blood. I went to inspect, and sure enough, my flow started. My cramps are intermittent but normal for me in the moderate to severe range. So far the actual flow is light. Continuing to monitor changes. 

Misc:

Shaved off my face a few weeks back to monitor the new growth more accurately. Starting to feel itchy stubble on the chin. Here we go. 

Moody AF. Might talk about increasing my Cymbalta dosage actually. It's kind of intense.

*Eddie, Jonathan, and Billy are sitting in Eddie’s trailer around the small kitchen table, smoke a joint and drinking beer

Billy, blowing out a waft of smoke: “So Munson, finally bag Harrington?”

Eddie, taking the joint he rolled away from Billy and rolling his eyes: “Unlike you Whore-grove, I don’t hump and dump. I’m taking my time with Steve. Being his bisexual awakening, while an honor I will shout from the rooftops till the day I die, means he is still apprehensive doing certain things. For fucks sake, it took him two months to realize I was flirting with him, plus another one to realize he liked me flirting with him. This is a slow, slow, PAINFULLY slow process. But he’s worth it.”

Billy: “Gay!”

Eddie just rolls his eyes and takes a hit.

Jonathan, nursing his beer while he waits for Eddie to finish with the weed: “I think it’s cool you and Steve got together. I know he hasn’t had much luck in the relationship front since Nancy, and I’ve felt like a dick ever since they broke up and we hooked up. So I’m glad he’s got you Ed.”

Eddie only allows certain people to call him anything shorter than Eddie. Since Byers brought the weed, he figured he’d earned the right: “Thanks Byers.”

Billy, not at all convinced by Byers, as suggested by his cocked eyebrow and folded arms: “Really? You’ve felt like a dick since you and Wheeler hooked up?”

Jonathan looks at Billy, looks down at his beer, which he fidgets with, and then back at Billy, with a gleeful smile on his face: “Okay, maybe not a total dick.”

Billy chuckles: “Better. Isn’t Wheeler your first main squeeze?”

Jonathan, first accepting the joint from Eddie, before responding: “Well, I guess that depends. What do you consider a girlfriend?”

Billy, a cocky grin on his face: “Any chick you bring to a fevered pitch of uncontrollable ecstasy.”

Eddie holding his beer about to drink it, looks over at Billy with a facial expression that reads, “really?,” before taking a sip of his beer.

Jonathan: “Oh! 56.”

Eddie nearly chokes on his beer, eyes going wide as he looks over at Jonathan, who takes a hit of his joint.

Billy’s grin quickly fades, his eyes narrowing as he leans forward on the table: “Excuse me?”

Jonathan: “I had about 56 girlfriends. Course that was before I knew Nancy. I probably would have had more but I wasn’t allowed to date till I was a junior. Mom can be a bit strict.”

Eddie has to bite his cheek from laughing, first by how innocent Byers’ looks when answering Billy and second by how Billy looks like he is about to short circuit at any moment.

Billy: “56. 56!”

Eddie, holding back his laughter: “Oh God, stand back he’s gonna blow!”

Billy slams his hands on the table and stands up, his chair falling behind him and his beer jostling around the table from the impact: “What do you mean you had 56 girlfriends?! You told us you were a virgin till you banged Nancy!”

Jonathan, looking at Billy with that same doe-eyed innocent look that is nearly breaking Eddie, who is drinking his beer and desperately trying not to laugh, though his twitching shoulders indicate he is losing the battle as the exchange before him continues: “Hey, you can have a girlfriend and not go all the way.”

Billy, looking offended: “You cannot! If that were true, then that would mean you were... a slut.”

Eddie, putting his beer down, looking at Billy with a serious expression: “Oh, come on, Hargrove, how can you say that? So the man had 56 girlfriends in one year. He’s not a slut.”

Jonathan, before taking another hit: “Thank you, Eddie.”

Eddie, banging his fist on the table in a jovial display, causing Jonathan to choke on the smoke he has just inhaled: “He is The Slut! He is the Grand Poobah of Slutdom! He is the easiest man in this room!”

Billy, looking offended as he picked up his chair and took a seat: “Eddie Munson, you take that back!”

Eddie, indicating Billy and then Jonathan: “The Slut is dead, long live The Slut. Good on you Byers!”

Eddie slaps Jonathan’s shoulder, who tries his best to use his hair to hide his blushing face as he looks down at the table, away from a grinning like a maniac Eddie and a Billy who looks as if steam could come out of his ears.

Billy, taking his beer and mumbling into it: “I’m the biggest slut.”

Did I have a vision of these three sitting around a table like the Golden Girls dishing about past hook ups: yes. Did I imagine it would be this long of a scene: no. Was it worth it: absolutely!
