Minerals supplements play an important role in treating specific vitamin and mineral deficiencies caused by the drastic changes in your lifestyle and diet patterns. Such health supplements reduce gastric irritation and improve your body’s ability to absorb iron to overcome mineral deficiency.
Vitamins and minerals are required by the body in small amounts to stay healthy and maintain optimal functioning of cells. While it is important to have a balanced diet, you may not get the recommended daily intake. In this situation, taking a mineral supplement is the right solution.

Vitamin C is one of the top go-to supplements for immune system support, especially when trying to combat the common cold. As an antioxidant, vitamin c helps to block the destruction of free radicals, which are known to cause damage to our DNA. Over time this damage can weaken the immune system and contribute to the aging process, leaving us more susceptible to disease formation. https://drclarkstore.com/collections/vitamins

Safe Foods + Diet Foods Masterpost
(I live in the Midwest)
This is a list of a bunch of my personal favorite foods and ingredients to utilize when I’m heavily restricting. I usually love making the highest volume possible out of the lowest cals, but I also sometimes eat smaller amounts of higher calorie/denser foods if I’m, say, wearing something tight or whatever and don’t want to be water bloated. I believe in the importance of being at least mildly sated, and also in the importance of multivitamins+supplements! If you’re restricting, there is a 100% guarantee you are not getting enough vitamins to maintain external functions you really don’t want to start failing on you. I lost a lot of hair when I dropped a fuck ton of weight for the first time because I was 14 at my worst and didn’t understand anything/didn’t care at all about body chemistry, but after I was forced to recover, after my hair began growing back and thickening up, it became very important to me—as did many other aspects of my body that are influenced+enhanced by the ingestion of vitamin supplement (also hair oils like rosemary and castor and almond, leave-in conditioners, good conditioner in general // all of these things will support hair health and maintenance, specifically!) So take your vitamins! Especially capsules, because gummy vitamins are easier for your body to flush out. Plus, a lot of them are just placebos dyed a fun color and rolled in sugar. (The “Now” brand offers very high quality supplements and multivitamins in capsules/pill form)
Also, now that I’m an adult and can buy my own groceries, I have much more access to helpful tools that I wouldn’t have been able to access at 14 or wouldn’t have known enough about to even bother figuring out more. I’m much more educated now and feel almost as if restricting is too easy, too fun. Will it become a problem? Maybe. But until then, and as long as I know we’re all bent on our own destruction anyway, I’ll share what I know, because I wish I would have known about some of these things the first time I decided to dive headlong into the pits of despair (‘:
I can share my favorite combos/meals in another post if anyone would like to see it! First, though, a few general rules I follow, as a sort of context to the masterpost:
1. Caloric intake matters first and foremost. It’s just the simplest way for me to track what I’m eating. (Now don’t do this, but) You could be eating the shittiest, sugariest, most processed diet on the planet but if you’re in a caloric deficit, you’re still going to lose weight.
2. All vegetables are safe. A vegetable is not out here making anyone fat or unhealthy. Certain vegetables, like potatoes, are denser in calories, so it’s just a matter of learning how to use them, but if that scares or triggers you, stay away! For me, I always try to maintain that plants are nothing to be afraid of. I’m neurotic enough without being afraid of the food that literally comes from the earth.
3. All fruits are safe. Moderation is more important to keep in mind when it comes to fruits versus vegetables, because fruit contains more sugar, which means more calories overall. But fruits are my favorite additions to breakfasts, or as sides/snacks later on in the day. It’s a little extra something to crunch/chew on, and all fruit is just so yummy.
4. There’s nothing wrong with a chocolate fix!!! Dark chocolate (the higher the percentage, the better!) has numerous health benefits because it contains a plethora of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It can be high calorie, so enjoy it in moderation, but there is absolutely nothing I love more than taking my time on a lux little square of dark chocolate while I’m reading a book.
5. No eating after 10pm. (I know most people choose an earlier time, but I’m a college student in a stem field who walks from her apartment to campus, so I get home later than traditional dinner time most nights.)
6. No eating before 7am. (8am is preferable.)
7. Eliminate as many sugary, processed carbs as possible. They aren’t really satisfying your body, and consuming these kinds of foods while restricting often leads to uncontrollable bingeing.
8. Eliminate fried foods (unless you figure out an air frier for a cheat night or something).
9. If you’re going to focus on any macros/micros, focus on protein and fiber! Protein is greater sustenance; fiber makes you shit.
10. If you binge, you binge. It happens. It comes with the territory of ED’s. Your body is literally pre-programmed to react this way to starvation because it’s a self-defense mechanism, and for many people, it’s an emotional defense mechanism. Just make your best mental and physical effort to minimize damage. Screwing yourself into the ceiling and just eating more will make you feel cosmically worse. Try to catch yourself before saying “fuck it” and continuing to binge harder, because even you know you don’t really mean that, and you know you’ll hate yourself to the moon for it later. Take a deep breath, name a few of the five senses to ground yourself or whatever, and then walk away. Listen to some music. Chew some gum or start sipping on lemon water. And remember: one pound is 3,500 calories. You would have had to eat that much on top of your basal metabolic rate (how many calories your body burns just existing) to gain just one pound. Water retention can be flushed. Fat cannot be.
11. Drink at least two quarts of water a day.
12. Take your fucking vitamins. xoxo
Okay! Now that I’ve rambled enough, here’s the masterpost (:

Looks like I'm not done with the whole Ford taking pills over actual food thing...
Because I just learned the actual number of calories a grown man should be taking per day. And it's not 500 calories. That can actually be pretty dangerous.
No, the actual average for an adult man would be somewhere between 2,000 to 3,000 calories per day! And maybe more for Ford's case, as even thinking can burn calories. Not kidding. Granted, calories burned from just basic brain function wouldn't cause significant weight loss...
I digress.
I've been meaning to bring this up in the other post, but I'll say it here. The largest pill capsule size is called '000' and its typically the size of a US quarter.
Tumblr media
If not a bit bigger.
Like, find the nearest US quarter you can find or just make a circle with your pointer finger and thumb to get the idea better. Although, I have pianist hands, so I'm not sure if that would be relevant...
That is one helluva of a pill to swallow. The largest pill capsule I've taken was Valerian root and those capsules were two sizes or three smaller.
Just...the idea of swallowing just one of these things make me wanna gag.
But, I'll use this for my example.
And I'm sticking with capsules because if Ford does prepare the pills himself, then it would most likely be in capsules.
(Do keep in mind that I am no nutrition expert. Take everything I say with a grain of salt.)
So, Ford (at least while he was on the run) would most likely need, let's say 3600 calories per day. To get these calories, let's focus on 3 important essential nutrients: Proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.
Carbohydrates provide 4 calories per gram, protein provides 4 calories per gram, and fat provides 9 calories per gram
Adding up that, we got...17 calories per gram...I think. (obviously, we're leaving out vitamins and minerals, which are essential too, but probably not for calories)
So, the largest 000 capsule pill would contain 1600 milligrams...or 1.6 grams...oof...
Um...okay.
So, 17 calories per gram, yeah? Okay, math time.
17*1.6=27.2
3600/27.2=132.35
...Okay...unless this math is shit, this means Ford has to take about 132 horse (not regular sized) pills if he wants to function like a typical biological organism!!
Sweet Jesus!
Ooooooooooooooooooooh...the thought is making me gag again. Aaah! No joke...
Tumblr media
Yeah...yeah...
Artistic licenses can be used at full power here.
Like, maybe Ford found a plant that is essentially like this super-duper, mega multivitamin nutrition farm and it can somehow be compacted into maybe a size 2 or 3 capsule so he can maybe take three pills a day (like three meals a day)...even then...its not enough...
...Imagine a story...where Ford eventually runs out of this 'magic' pill and is just...not having a good time...
Stan, please re-introduce proper food to your malnourished, underweight, and semi self-destructive brother!!

I'll pay you money if you make a new powder food product that is a protein powder and carbohydrate meal replacement and multivitamin and B complex vitamins and multi mineral with
supplements in it like medicinal mushroom powders and herbs like maca and ginseng and taurine and L carnitine and guarana and creatine and steroids and I want it to have a salty sweet flavor like lucuma and Soylent — if it's gonna be in capsules, it doesn't need a flavor, but if it's gonna be in powder, then it needs a nice flavor
— it needs to have complex carbohydrates and wheatgrass juice powder and spirulina powder and cracked cell chlorella powder and barley grass powder and low sugar
— you can use sucralose to get a sweet flavor so you don't have to put sugar in it
— this powder needs to have the right ratios of vitamins and minerals so that you can take an entire daily dose of all of your vitamins and minerals with the meal replacer because what I see from other vitamin products is that they don't have the right ratios of vitamins and minerals and you end up taking too much of some of them and
not enough of the others when you take a double dose, so we need to even out the ratios so that the meal replacement protein powder will have the correct ratios of all the different ingredients in the powder and so people don't get sick and die from overdosing on vitamins, it's important the meal replacer needs to have low doses of
the dangerous vitamins, minerals and supplements so we can eat an entire stomach full of powder and not get sick from it so we don't have to cook food and have an entire raw meal replaced with a smoothie and it also needs to be raw vegan and biologique organic and it also needs to be very pure quality so that the manufacturing
ingredients don't contaminate the safetiness of the powder food product, and to make it perfect, put the entire meal in capsules so we can swallow the meal whole and not have to brush our teeth every time we eat and the capsules don't need fiber if we're gonna swallow them whole.
Basically, any vitamin, mineral, or medicinal supplement that you would take on a daily basis, you need to put in the new powder formula, even MDMA and psilocybin and mescaline and LSA and ayahuasca and THC and cocaine.
Would you ask the government if you can put Adderall and Vyvanse in the product? I know some people who can pull strings for us. My good friend B, Barack Obama, and my bestie and
boss man Dennis Francis can get us permission to legalize Adderall and Vyvanse so we can put The Addy and The Lizzy in the formula. While we're here, we might as well put LSD and PCP in the formula because they give you beast like energy and endurance enhancement.
I want you to put just enough of the drugs in the powder so that when you take them all at once, you feel comfortably high and it doesn't make you scared that you're too high because we need to take this on a daily basis.
I weigh 200 pounds because I'm a body builder and I lift weights every day.
I'll manufacture the drugs because I'm above the law and I have a written agreement with the government that I can manufacture illegal drugs if I want to.
How much money would you charge me to design this formula?
This would be so badass if we could make this powder — it would be like the coolest thing we've ever done so far.

How would young!Tony and older Tony react upon finding you curled up in a little ball in bed whimpering and crying because your period cramps hurt so fucking bad :(?
He would would be very concerned, and with good reason. He may not know much, but nothing should hurt that bad unless it requires a doctor or something, surely 😣 and may try to recommend it, though that doesn’t exactly help right now :/ tbh he’ll definitely cuddle up to you, and will probably want to just lay on top of you if you let him 🥺 he doesn’t know if it’ll help, but he is warm and cuddly and heavy so maybe it does a little 🥺 and he’ll play with your hair or wipe away/kiss the tears on your cheeks :( he’ll probably also do a lot of research on his own to see if he can do anything! But it’s kinda hard when you don’t know exactly how it feels :( so he may feel a little shorty and useless bc if it :((
But real talk rq, it’s normal to have annoying cramping a day or two of your period, but super bad cramps (especially consistently) is not, especially if it’s also accompanied by a really heavy and/or irregular flow! I recommended starting on a vitamin D supplement + an Omega-3 (provided you are not on any blood thinners, as omega supplements can interact negatively). Of course, I can’t recommend a dosage, as that depends on many different variables like age and weight and what not, so always do research! It is always smart to talk to a trusted doctor or medical provider about awful period symptoms if available, but often times they wanna prescribe birth control first, which is fine if you’re comfortable with it and believe that it’s right for you, and also be sure to do your research on it as well as talk with the doctor! But if BC isn’t an option, many of my friends that I have recommend those supplements to have seen improvements :) though, consistence is key, and it may take 4-6 weeks to start working. I would also recommend finding a good Women’s multi vitamin (I like Garden of Life’s Multivitamin Code:Women, it says 4 a day but I take 2!) as they are created with plenty of zinc and B vitamins, which greatly nourishes the ovaries and zinc may also help suppress ovarian cyst development. I also recommend Peruvian red maca root (make sure it’s Peruvian and not the weaker Chinese version, and make sure it’s the red. I use The Maca Team company, via their website, and take 3 raw capsules a day), provided you don’t have any thyroid issues or sensitivities, but again, always be sure to do your own research and/or talk with a medical provider, and to talk with them if you have any medications or medical conditions. Maca root may be too expensive, however (especially when you’re buying it with other supplements), and multivitamins (especially the brand I use) and omega-3s can also get pricey depending on your dosage and preferred brands and where you live, but Vitamin D is often cheap and easily available, and is the best place to start, as it greatly benefits every part of the body! Another great habit to get into is making sure to work avocado, blueberries/strawberries/raspberries, spinach, and/or sweet potato into at least one meal a day, as those are considered superfoods as well as hormone balancing foods! Chicken, eggs, turkey, and low mercury fish are also very good for that, provided you are able to eat meat. Frozen and canned works just as good, as long as they don’t have too much sodium or added sugar! However, I am aware that this can be an expensive option, especially if buying with supplements. If you’ve had your blood work recently and know that the issue isn’t low levels of any vitamins or minerals, be sure to talk with the doctor, as there are some cases where BC is really your only option, but that doesn’t mean you have to take it of course. It just depends on your level of comfort with your period or with taking BC, if anything at all seems to help in any way (such as Tylenol, heat pads, etc), and whether or not you have any specific medications or known medical conditions. I also recommend non-carbonated kombucha for the bloating (among other things) 😘 provided you don’t have IBS or similar digestive distress issues, and aren’t sensitive to oxalates (in particular, getting kidney stones due to high oxalate levels). But if you’re a first timer, don’t drink more than like half a measuring cup or a single measuring cup, and don’t drink it really fast 😅 And keep in mind that while it is vegan and gluten free, there are low but existing alcohol levels, should that be an issue! And no, not enough to require an ID or to get drunk lol. Again, if you have any medications or medical conditions, always be sure to do research and/or talk with your medical care provider! And overall, be sure to stay hydrated on your period (and all the time really)! It can help with headaches and cramps, and is overall important.
I hope everyone here is 18+, but in case you aren’t, you should definitely ask a doctor before following any of this advice and also do research. Also, often times periods are most painful within the first 3-5 years of getting it, as hormones are new and constantly changing with a growing body. I also recommend you not be on this blog if this is the case 😅
I was once in a rough spot with horrible cramps to where I’d was crying or on a few occasions sick and a very heavy flow, and absent periods for up to 80 days even. It’s unfortunate how little info or care is provided to us, even by doctors :( I suffered for years until I kinda just started doing my own research and it took a good few years to get into a good spot and figure out what I needed and what I didn’t. I wish you all good health and hope you can all find the best routine and supplementation for your bodies and cycles :)

6 Important Vegetables To Include In Your Diet This Winter
As the season of cold and chilly winds arrives, it brings with it a range of seasonal vegetables that are not only tasty but highly nutritious too. This is the season to fill your kitchen shelves with a whole lot of greens that are not only comforting but also protect us from the harsh climate. Winter as a season can be really harsh on your body if you do not take proper measures to guard yourself. The environment is dry, moistureless, and frigid; hence there is an increase in the incidence of skin and other health problems. The seasonal fruits and vegetables work exceptionally well in preventing these diseases and hence it is important you include them in your diet to get the maximum nutrition. For some people it might be difficult to do so either due to their busy schedules or inavailability of the food items; they can use multivitamin and multimineral tablets to meet daily nutritional demands until they find more natural and healthier options. This article provides a list of the 8 most important vegetables you must include in your diet this winter:
Tumblr media
Spinach
This extraordinary green leafy vegetable is renowned for preventing premature aging, preventing vision loss, boosting the immune system and for its anti- inflammatory properties. It is highly beneficial for the elderly as it maintains brain functions and the nervous system. Its anti- oxidant properties due to the high content of vitamin C are claimed to help decrease risks of cardiovascular disease and cancers. Vitamin C is today consumed as food supplements in the form of skin whitening tablets due to its detaning properties. Spinach contains a number of essential nutrients including vitamin A, B, C, E, K, zinc, magnesium, iron, etc; all of which our body cannot produce on its own and needs from our food. Its high fibre content enhances bowel movement and helps you lose weight faster. The best way to eat it would be raw; included in salads. However you can also make a dish along with cottage cheese or corn.
Carrots
It is a crunchy and delicious power food that contains many vital nutrients such as vitamin A, B2, B3, C, D, E, etc. These nutrients help prevent night blindness, cancer, diabetes and also maintain good heart health. Carrots also help regulate menstrual flow, improve skin, hair and nail health due to the high amount of vitamin B. You can have carrots by themselves or in a salad. The raw form provides maximal nutrition.
Sweet potato
These are an excellent, inexpensive and delicious food item found especially in the winters. Rich in fibre, beta carotene, vitamin A, B6 and C; they serve various health benefits. They have a low glycemic index despite being sweet and are a good source of magnesium as well. They help one stay full for longer durations, decrease cravings and are an outstanding choice for weight loss. One can also use green tea for weight loss when unable to find sweet potatoes around. It is both natural and healthy in comparison to most of the weight management pills available in the market. It also helps to fight the common cold, prevent constipation, heart attacks, etc. It is said to fight against stress and anxiety as well.

Also also, there are a number of veggie and greens mixes out there in powder, tablet, and capsule forms. This removes sight, sound, texture, and smell issues for many folks. They can be mixed with water or other liquids for taste or visual preferences or requirements.
It's ok to be grossed or stressed out by veggies. I was put off by them for an entire childhood and early adulthood by a family group whose idea of preparing them was to decant salty wilted veggies from a can, boil them until they were the texture of soggy day old noodles, and serve them covered in oodles of government cheese. Well into adultness, I had a partner who patiently taught me about the many, many ways to select, prepare, and eat fruits and vegetables. I had to be provided a wide variety and try a lot of new flavors, textures, and colours before I learned what I liked and didn't like and how to prepare them in ways that worked for me.
Lots of folks I grew up with had similar experiences. Some, like me, we're very poor and had zero access to fresh veggies of any kind, and ate from essentially discards and surplus and stuff that no one else wanted. Others grew up in colder climates where the only fresh veggies were what you could grow in your own garden (if you were lucky enough to have space for one) during the 90 day growing season -- think carrots, green beans, and root vegetables. Others were neurodivergent and just could not deal with certain aspects and didn't know why, just experienced "veggie squick."
Whatever the experience, I agree with op that fruits and veggies are good for your body and supply essential nutrients. It's helpful to experiment with them a bit to learn your triggers and preferences. Eating a little bit yucky food can help you identify what you like (surprise!) and what's a hard pass.
It's also helpful to remember that your body's tastes and cravings change over time. (Most) Textures and sights that grossed me out when I was 8 don't bother me at my present age. And some things (oranges?) that used to generate an allergic reaction in my 20's stopped causing me trouble years later. So, every so often, I revisit gross out foods to see if I still dislike them, or if something's changed.
And if they still make you go squick, please consider a multi-vitamin in your favorite form. The really, really important thing is that your body needs certain vitamins and minerals. Many of us get those from a varied diet, but if you have problems with certain types of food, taking a multivitamin will help get your body most /all the micronutrients it needs to function as best it can.
i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.
