last night i was on the phone with my 74 year old mother in gaza trying to explain how tumblr is helping us stay alive and she cuts me off frustrated “tumblr? what even is that? how are these people with strange names and pictures gonna help when we don’t have bread? the children are hungry. this is genocide.” so i said mama these people are real they’re donating so we can survive and she scoffed “show me one of them actually helping” so i opened tumblr and read a message “mama a friend sent us $20 yesterday that’s how we bought two loaves of bread yesterday and another one shared our story with their friends” silence then she sighed “well god bless them even if their names and pictures are ridiculous” then she goes “thank you to everyone out there you’re the reason we’re still alive and please continue donating and sharing! your support truly makes a difference”.

Amina Ghanem, 13 years old, says: We were sleeping and we heard the sound of tanks when they came and walked over the caravan in which I, my father and my siblings lived. The tank squeezed us inside the tin all night, and we were ran over, until the morning. And when they finally let us out, I found that my father and my little sister have been killed. Now we've been brought here.

She tells her story in this video with her little brother beside her. They're all on their own. Their mother is outside of Gaza and cannot get in or get them out. They have no way of communication, their father and sister are killed.

I'm Laila Shaqoura, a displaced person from northern Gaza to the south, specifically the city of Rafah. Amid this ongoing aggression, there is no glimmer of hope except through you and your support for us. Let me tell you the story of my mother and her unborn child during this war.

Amid this destruction, my pregnant mother faces countless challenges. She suffers from malnutrition due to the lack of healthy food, which puts her and her unborn child at multiple health risks. The insufficient healthcare and weakened immunity have led to her contracting hepatitis, anemia, intestinal diseases, and preeclampsia. Additionally, the psychological pressure from the war and displacement exacerbates her suffering. The constant worry for the family's safety and the fear of the continuous intense bombing last night resulted in high blood pressure, imbalance, and fainting this morning. It was a terrible morning.

Despite the sounds of artillery, gunfire, bombing, fear, and anxiety, a new life continues to form inside my mother's womb. She carries the hope for the future, but the war has stolen her ability to dream. She not only carries a child but also the burdens and pains of war. The pain of her pregnancy is intensified by the weight of war and its sorrows. She carries life in her womb while war destroys life around her. Sometimes, we wonder: will this awaited child live in such a shattered world?

At this moment, I wonder if the war will take this awaited child from us before seeing the light of day.

Rafah is no longer safe, and the sounds of bombing intensify every night. There is no time to escape death. My mother's health is deteriorating. There is no healthcare. We want her to stay alive. This matter concerns the lives of two people (a mother and her child). Let's extend a helping hand to those who have lost everything. Your donation can give new life and hope for the future.

My name is Lina Zeyad, an attorney from north Gaza. My family and I have been displaced from our home by occupation bombing and were forced to flee various shelters under the threat of IOF assault numerous times before finding space in Nuseirat refugee camp. Sadly, we were displaced AGAIN about a week ago. Every displacement costs money for transport, accommodations, and basic necessities. My family is running out of money. If we are forced to flee again, we will have no way to travel and nowhere to go! In addition to the danger, exhaustion, and expense of repeated displacement, I have another problem: **my youngest son has contracted Hepatitis C after having to drink contaminated water**.

His illness is worsened by malnutrition, and he is very sick. He needs clean water, nutritious food, medical care, and stable shelter in order to recover, all of which are extremely expensive and difficult to find in Gaza right now.
