I know that in BTAS it's not spoken about him owning the Iceberg Lounge until TNBA when his ownership plays a more pivotal role so I'm just going to combine the two its still BTAS Penguin but with TNBA status kind of lol

Reader Gets Jealous Over BTAS Penguin

Oswald Cobblepot is an ideal partner.

He complimented you, supported you, validated you…treated you like the only person in the world that mattered to him.

These sentiments you returned back to him tenfold, of course.

Jealousy was something that mostly occurred on his part.

Oswald's insecurities often got the better of him, not that he didn't trust you, he just knew that there were more conventionally attractive partners out there with the potential to whisk you away…and he couldn't say he'd blame you if you let them.

You always reassured him and proved his insecurities wrong by remaining to be by his side for years to come.

However, tonight, the shoe was on the other foot.

You took a drink from your cup to hide the grimace on your face as you saw an undeniably attractive woman all over Oswald.

Knots of rage began tightening in your stomach, waiting to implode. The nerve, the audacity of some people–

The conflicting emotion between wanting to tell this lady to back off versus wanting to pull her back by her hair away from him…both of which were not a good idea because ultimately you didn't want to embarrass Oswald in his club.

You sighed as you tried to get a handle on your emotions and think logically about what to do.

“Ah, there you are, my dove!”

Maybe you didn't have to think of anything, because before you knew it the love of your life was making his way towards you.

For once, your heart beat steadily, and your breathing was even. “Ozzie!”

You got up from the barstool and excitedly walked over to him.

“You look gorgeous! I'm glad to see you wearing the attire I bought you, I presume it fits well?”

He looked up at you as he took your hands in his own.

“Yes, I love it! And you look incredibly handsome as always, Ozzie!” You leaned down and nuzzled your nose against his signature long and pointed one.

As you two conversed lovingly, you couldn't help but feel the pressure of someone's eyes on you.

Your eyes darted over Oswald's shoulder to see the very woman that caused your ire earlier.

It seems the shoe is on the other foot…

Your smile grew as you brought your attention back to Oswald, who still looked up at you with devoting eyes.

You brought your hand to cup the side of Oswald's face before pulling him up a little to bring his face closer to yours–to have his lips meet yours.

You grinned as you couldn't help but tone in on the sound of heels stomping on the ground over the classical live piano music.

Oswald was none the wiser as his cheeks dusted red, and he cheerfully took your hand in his once more.

“Come, darling! The night is still young!”

You tightened your grip on Oswald’s hand as your speculation was confirmed that the woman did indeed leave in a huff.

“Indeed, lead the way, Ozzie!”

Me-specific Perfect Batcomic challenge (impossible)

New job is right by a Barnes and Noble, and their comic book pickings are slim and often sealed. I'd like to treat myself but I'm not seeing much that I know I'd be into. I figured I'd write down my gold standards and open the conversation with the rest of you nerds

Aligns with the Dini/Timm canon in story tone if not stylistically (mega bonus points if both). Ie: every single figure involved is (mostly) realistically tragic, and the story is documenting a brief success/reprieve from the grief. Ideally starts and ends in media res

Does not involve characters residing outside of Gotham city limits (the rest of the Trinity, the other Titans, etc)

Involves as few Robins as possible, ideally just Dick. I straight up do not care. It seems gratuitous; I don't think they're there to advance the plot

On the same note, involves only one generation of villain. Again, I straight up do not care for the same reasons... And I don't think any of them would be into babies ever after either

What I do like:

Mad Love was my first and I think it remains my perfect S. I am pretty sure I've read the complete Dini/Timm from there. TNBA is great across the board: firm As, occasional additional Ss. I really like Mr. Nice and haven't seen him anywhere else

Big ups also to Knightfall, which breaks a few rules but the Dick/Azrael debacle was beautifully done imo

Another rule breaker but Hush is also solid

Hard pass:

Most new 52. Could not follow The Court of Owls at all (fine story but I can't make it gel with what I already know about Gotham). Really dug the White Knight art, and that was it

To my mind, it reminds me of a big reason why I didn’t like The Judge in BTAS/TNBA. In order to make the twist reveal work, they had to sacrifice a TON of character work with Harvey to explain—not even show—how he got to that point, and what was going on with him psychologically. In the end, it’s left to fans like us, the ones who actually care about the character, to extrapolate our own headcanons.

With that said, I feel like this particular twist mostly works. It’s just missing a few pieces, more than the Judge was missing in my personal opinion.

I never played arkham knight but I heard about that stunt and the fact they pulled it again?? It's just... ough. I guess it's to be expected from the franchise that gives you one jumpscare each game bc fuck you.

While I appreciate [REDACTED]'s further character development, narrative and in game importance and everyone's performance:

1. I wish it had been an original character bc the marketing made it seem that way and there is no reason to believe otherwise even with the games' track record...

2. I find some of the reasoning confusing? Like I get [REDACTED] formed a cult in the comics at least once but,,, why would they go in the rat direction, anyway? Outside from headcannons that is.

And lastly, the biggest fuck you has to be it being playable only in meta quest. Like, what the hell is this game. Why.

The Different Versions of Scarecrow and what Sweets they Like

BTAS Scarecrow: Likes the finer things in life, like those hundred dollar deserts at fancy restaurants. Also likes dipping cookies in coffee.

TNBA Scarecrow: Loves tarts, the tangy-er the better

Bronze Age Scarecrow: Will eat those candy cigarettes wile huffing toxin

Year One Scarecrow: Is the one Scarecrow that loves pumpkin. Will always order a Pumpkin Spice Latte and a pumpkin cream doughnut.

Yellow Lantern Scarecrow: Absolutely loves lemon, mostly because it’s yellow. Will devour lemon squares and sour candy

Masters of Fear Scarecrow: Doesn’t like pumpkin die to being attacked with them in his teenage years, but DOES like orange flavoring. I likes making orange creamcicles.

Salecrow: Cake Whore. Absolutely loves angel food cake and traditional fondant covered wedding cake.

New52 Scarecrow: Likes old fashioned circus peanuts and taffy

Rebirth Scarecrow: Likes ice cream, and sometimes frozen yogurt if there’s nothign else in the freezer.

Arkham Asylum Scarecrow: Will eat all your hallowed candy indiscriminately, complains often about “fun size”

Arkham Knight Scarecrow: Also eats ice cream, but like..melted and through a straw. Weirdo.

Alex Ross Scarecrow: Literally only eats Hershey brand

Lego Scarecrow: Will eat any kind of gummy candy, but especially gummy sharks

You are going to be the death of him.

BTAS!Waylon Jones:

At first, he was mostly just confused. Why were you staring at him? Did he have something on his face? But, while watching your gaze slowly travel across his body, it finally clicked. Oh. Oh. Well. That definitely makes him feel good about himself. Now he’s showing off. Doesn’t matter what he’s doing, he’s finding ways to show off while doing it. Both of you are thriving.

Harley-Quinn:

YES. Ohmygod, she has been secretly checking you out for ages! Now it’s her turn to be the “checked out” one!!! You think you’re being slick, only to see her grinning at you like a Cheshire cat once your gaze finally moves back up. She winks. As the dawning horror sets in, Harley melts into delighted cackles. TNBA Mad Hatter - First Date Night

"Just where are you taking me, Jervis?" You asked in between unsure giggles. 

Jervis chuckled. "In due time, darling! I want this reveal to be surprising!" 

Jervis appeared ecstatic on the outside, which he was, but he was also a bundle of nerves on the inside. 

He spent days working on this little dinner date for you and now that it's happening. He was hoping nothing could go wrong now. To disappoint you and make you leave him.

He just found you. He couldn't dare to lose you now. 

"Ah, here we are." Jervis stopped and stood in front of you. 

You took off your blindfold and gasped. 

There before you was a round table for two just in front of a tree in the middle of an open park. 

"Oh, oh Jervis…you…you did all this?" You slowly approached the table. Observing and taking in all the linens, the delicacies, and the utensils. 

You looked up and noticed the fairy lights wrapped around the tree and its spiraling branches. 

"D-Do you like it?" Jervis asked. He clenched the rim of his hat as he held it behind his back. Anxiously, he rocked on the heels of his feet, waiting for your response. 

"I-I love it! No one…no one has ever done something like this for me before…I-I'm speechless." 

Jervis stopped his rocking when he heard that. His heart sank at the idea of anyone giving you anything less than you deserved. 

He promptly put on his top hat, deciding that it was up to him to show you how special you are. 

Jervis walked around the table and pulled out one of the chairs, he held his hand out, gesturing to you to take a seat. 

You smiled sweetly. "Thank you." 

"My pleasure." 

When you took your seat, you put your hand on Jervis' shoulder to keep him by your side for a moment. 

You leaned in and gave Jervis a small peck on the cheek. 

"This truly is amazing, Jervis…thank you so much." 

He gulped, trying everything he can to mentally cool off the heated blush rising to his cheeks. 

"I'm glad you like it." He responded before going to take his seat. 

As you two began eating dinner, you two made idle chatter. Jervis mostly inquired about your life. He could never learn enough about you. 

"And what about you, Jervis? What have you been up to?" 

Jervis paused. He wasn't sure how to answer. How do you tell someone that no matter what you do, you are always distracted by thoughts of them? 

"Erm, I well…I've been doing some research on the side. However, it tends to subside." 

"Oh? Any reason why?" 

He gulped. "N-none in particular. Just getting distracted by someone I'm far more attracted." His eyes widened and he slapped his hand over his mouth. 

It didn't take long for you to pick up where he was getting at. 

You smiled at him reassuringly. "I've been thinking a lot about you too, Jervis. I've been waiting for this night for a long time." 

Jervis picked his head up, allowing his hand to drop from his mouth. "Really?" 

You nodded. "Really, really." 

Jervis found himself instantly relieved. The feeling was mutual. He couldn't have heard more thrilling news. 

This was turning out to be the most wonderful night Jervis could have ever imagined.

TNBA!Scarecrow general hcs:

TNBA had a very interesting take on Jon, and so the relationship will be a little different than with most Scarecrows

listen he looks like death itself and you probably first saw him with his mask on, and you just decided that yes, this is the man you want??? he can't quite comprehend that. but that doesn't mean he's not grateful

this boy knows how to do buisness, so money is no issue for him - he can and will spoil the living hell out of you. you will have everything you want

really loves deep talks with you about philosophy, politics, even common problems - partly to pick apart your psyche and figure you out, but mostly because he loves hearing your opinion about everything, hearing your take on this or that and he loves the fact that even when your views differ, you never try to tell him that he's wrong and his opinion sucks

would love to show you the process in which his toxins are made, carefully explain the effects they have on the human brain and why is every single step crucial for them to work properly

he's possessive, awfully so. even before you two became an item, he knew you were going to be his someday and nobody was allowed near you. he never expected to find someone like you ever, so now that he has you, he's not letting you go. and especially, he's not letting anyone steal you away from him

What The Fans Of (Almost) Every Scarecrow Design Are Like Just by Surveying Rogue Tumblr for Approx: 5 Months. (Not in any particular order. Also this is a meme.)

Year One: You probably needed a childhood to relate to/needed a justifiable reason to stan one of Gotham’s biggest criminals. (but if your childhood involves being half-eaten by crows i am VERY concerned)  BTAS: The gateway drug Scarecrow. You’re probably a gremlin, and also really like the Dork Squad(tm)  TNBA: He’s under-appreciated, and you know this very well, but you’re also thankful that you get some of the coolest artwork of your favorite spooky boy. (Also the voice. 11/10 you want him to read sleepy hollow to you.) TAOB: You are one of the only 3 living fans of Adventures Of Batman Scarecrow, but you give absolutely no shit. You love that uncanny valley, near on clown-like scarecrow, and i feel bad for you, because you’ll probably never get art of them. Super Friends: I...Wow. Y’all really do exist... Galactic Guardians: YOU GUYS ACTUALLY EXIST TOO??? BATB: JAZZY. You like his hat, and his voice. You also probably enjoy a lot of older scarecrow designs as well. You get sad because you wish there were more content.  The Batman (TV series): PFFT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (But seriously though, you poor, poor things...There, There...) Assault On Arkham: AA Scarecrow in an otherwise good movie. Basically, you’re sad he didn’t get more screen-time. At this point, just stan: Arkham Asylum: ABSOLUTE GOBLIN OF A HUMAN. One of the gateway drug Scarecrows that lead you to The Rogues fanbase in the first place. You either love the serious artwork of him, love him drawn/written as a gremlin, or are STILL offended by his lack of footwear. Either way, you adore him and will remind everyone of it. Arkham Knight: OH FUCKING BOY. This can go one of two ways. 1.You love his writing (or don’t, but still stan), his poetic dialogue and his voice, and you also love how much he hams up the fear factor. You probably adore every artwork of him you see, and you REALLY love reading any fan-written material of him. You have many headcanons, and probably have googled A LOT of stuff to make them more genuine.  Or 2. You are very, VERY horny... (But as a good friend once said, “these are not mutually exclusive.”) Nightwing And Robin: Aw, y’all are so cute! Here, have some tea with the SF AND GG Fans, I think they have Earl Grey over in the CORNER OF IRRELEVANCY. (But I feel bad for y’all too.) Unlimited: BEEF BOY. You’re either in the group of people that love Scarecrow designs that use scythes, or you like how strange, yet fun his appearance is. Most art of him is super colorful too. There aren’t very many of you, but the amount of you that I’ve seen seem like super cool people. You all probably also enjoy the next one: Batman/TMNT: You knew the movie was a wild ride from start to finish, but you love it. You probably also like birds (I know, really obvious.) There aren’t many of you, but you like the idea of a corvid-like Scarecrow, and you wish for more. Or...You may be a furry that also likes DC stuff, and that’s ok too! We too also oddly love that weird ass cobra joker anyways.  Salecrow: You love his rhyming (which is arguably the best thing about him), but are also annoyed by the fact that most content of him use the same 3 images every time. You’re probably in the same boat as all the other scarecrow fans that genuinely want a proper medieval themed version of him. If you write/draw him, you’ve googled endless nursery rhymes. Its like Dr.Seuss up in this bitch. Also, them hands. Blackest Night: Chances are you’re still amazed that your favorite bag-headed master of fear even HAS that thing. You REALLY want him to wear that damn ring again, and will probably pay an arm and a leg to see it happen in a form of animated media. You also have very interesting artwork/writings of him. And your head canons are outlandish, but in the most fun way. (Seriously though, Hatter with a ring, huh...) Injustice: You either love the concept of The ScareBeast, or you’re here for the fact that hes voice by FREAKING ROBERT ENGLUND. Admittedly, you probably aren’t all too good at fighting games, but you still insta-lock him despite that.  The Dark Knight: Cillian Murphy portrays the character rather well, but you either are unnerved by his strangely dreamboyish face, or would wish for a slightly older actor. But!!! Despite all that!!! You love him, and probably still quote “WaNnA sEe My MaSK???” (Although I see some of you get absolutely tired of that lol) I don’t see any loyal fans of him, but everyone seems to agree that he’s not too shabby (heheh... shabby...) Gotham (Tv Series): ...Hello? Where are you guys? I KNOW you exist! Show yourselves! Jokes aside, you either love him or hate him. Live action scarecrows seem to be a hit or miss for some.  Harley Quinn (Tv Series): Softies. You adore everything about him. His dialogue, his humor, his very surprising accent, and his, albeit a stretch, questionable sexuality implications. Most art of him is very wholesome and good, probably because you’re STILL not over...Well... Maybe its better if I not mention it (all fans of him are the “If I see anything happen to them I’ll kill everyone in this room and then myself” meme.). Detective Comics: Hroo Hraa, my friends. Hroo Hraa. Whether it’s his “Queer grasshopper leaps” or his strange laughter onomatopoeia, you can’t get enough of his antics. Nothing beats a classic, and the fact that there are still many of you that are fans of him makes me smile. New 52/Prime Earth: One of the few scarecrows that greatly changes his childhood, but you welcome the idea of it. He’s a very unsettling looking guy, but you’ll remind everyone that his writing makes up for it. He’s mostly treated like a semi-C tier villain in the continuity, but every time you see him you’re like “!!!!!!!”.You most likely have a list of every issue he appears in so you don’t have to suffer, and your heart still breaks when you read the scene with him and that one girl. (He said he was sorry, guys.) Batman:Hush: 2 and a half sweet and savory minutes of this guy, only for him to get kicked in the face? Nay, Nay, you say! A crime, you holler! You go to your keyboard to tell your friend about how good his character design is, and how well animated he was, but alas they say “that’s nice, bud.” Blast it all... The Lego Batman Movie/Lego in general: Our boy at his most gremlin. Sure, you know this is a 99% children’s medium, but that doesn’t stop you from smiling like a dummy every time you see him. He’s funny, he’s delightful, and he has... a weird obsession with planes? What is it with them and putting him in planes? Maybe he got a pilot’s license before he attended university? What a smart little block person!  Obviously, I left out quite a few here, but these seem to be the most popular. There are SO many comic renditions of him, so It’d take my forever. (My poor fingies already hurt!) But please enjoy this silly little thing :’]

         ( Yes, I think so! I mean I definitely might, if I didn’t have the BTAS one to love so much.  Aaaa I feel like... I’ve gotten this question before but for the love of me I cannot remember my own answer in regards to specific ones.  But off the top of my head?

I wouldn’t mind writing Ratter honestly, or as I call him, Leprechaun Jervis, from TNBA? I think mostly what would turn me away from it is that he appears to be a very old man. I don’t just mean he’s not young and handsome, I mean he literally appears to have a full head of white hair... Maybe it’s just my personal interpretation of him, but I’m assuming he’s 50-60 years old.  I just don’t think I’m very practiced in writing much much older characters than myself tbh. Even if he is a... weird little man child on the inside haha

It could also be fun to write one of the Arkham Jervises too, though! Maybe the Arkham City one? The only problem is... precisely what makes him so interesting! He gives me such pitiful vibes. Oh my god. How sad it would be to put myself in his head every day. The fact that he’s so dirty and disheveled and seems to constantly be in a state of earnest confusion is heartbreaking once you strip away all his “super villain-isms”. The way he can’t remember killing people, the way he still clearly feels vivid remorse for doing it. It’s so distressing seeing him just abandoned somewhere, endlessly crying over a table of dead bodies when you revisit him. Despite knowing he’s a Batman villain and deliberately escaped an asylum... everything about him reminds me of, frankly, a homeless man who just isn’t getting the mental health care he needs. And though that’s so well done, I think something about it is a little too Real for me in that regard!

And then there’s that funny little one I like that looks like a Tex Avery cartoon that is being taken deadly serious. No downsides, I love them dearly.
