do you think you could make a list of which hero is who? sorry it’s just confusing
Yknow, i was planning on revealing them one at a time, but there's 18 characters and i feel like it's gonna take me some time to even begin drawing the next person, so why not reveal it now?
Here's a list of who is who, as well as a bit of info (this is a long one so brace yourselves);
The Architect = Grian
- as already revealed, Grian's power is psychokinesis (which is closely related to, but is not telekinesis). The first part of his poem, "Mind over matter", reveals this but there's more to it than that. His wings are also thought to be part of his powers, but whether or not that's true will be revealed in the actual story i'll write. The character introduction hinted at some things, but I'm not gonna point them out until much later.
(Since I haven't properly introduced the rest of the cast yet, I'll avoid mentioning their powers or any other info. You guys will just have to either wait for their introductions, or take a wild guess. I'll just give you guys some behind the scene of each alias and poem)
Vex = Scar
- I honestly had a hard time coming up with the alias for Scar. Eventually, I settled for Vex because some fans headcanon Scar as a vex hybrid, also because the name means "to bring trouble" or "to annoy by petty provocations", which is close to what I plan for Scar in this AU. Also, his poem "A silver tongue, a voice that sways" not only gives a nod to how he usually swindles people in the life series but it also hints at what his power is.
The Mechanic = Mumbo
- I mean... i think it's kinda obvious the person whose poem says "Where machines are present, his genius stands" is gonna be Mumbo. I think i could've thought of a better alias for Mumbo, but I just couldn't at the time, and I guess this has already stuck so... yeah, Mechanic it is for Mumbo.
Trapline = Impulse
- I haven't really watched Impulse that much so I didn't really know what power to give him. But then I watched one of his build and seek videos and I learned that he's good at redstone, so I decided to make his power have something to do with machines as well. And since we already have Mumbo as the tech guy, I just decided to have Impulse be the trap guy. Hence his poem, "A snare unseen, a trap well laid". The alias Trapline just sounded cool to me.
Scarlet Moon = Pearl
- I mean... i think the alias already gives it away. Anyways, Pearl's alias and power was one of the ones that came easy to me. I wanted her whole theme to still be tied to the moon so... Scarlet Moon it is. As for her powers, the first line of her poem, "Gravity bows to her lunar might", kinda gives it away.
Timekeeper = Bdubs
- I don't know much about Bdubs as well, nor have I watched any of his POV (i found the life series through martyn so i mainly watch his pov), but i've seen fanfics and fanart alike of him having a clock and his moss cloak thingy, so i decided to base his power on that. So the first line of his poem, "Time bends where flowers bloom", gives a nod to that, as well as hint at his powers. Bdubs' powers is one of the things I'm very proud of. His character in this AU is also one of the more complex characters. As for his alias, the public only knows about one part of his powers so I thought, "what would people call someone with that power?", and I came up with Timekeeper.
Blaze = Tango
- I actually feel bad for giving Tango a very basic alias, but i really can't think of anything else. I only really got interested in Tango during Double Life, cuz him with Jimmy is really wholesome. I noticed that fanon is that Tango is a blaze hybrid so I just took that and ran. I also loved his reaction in Double Life to the ranch burning, so the last part of his poem, "Heat and flame, in fury's daze", gives a nod to that as well as his powers. Honestly, most of the characters' poems hint at both their powers and something that reminds me of them.
Phantom = Etho
- Honestly, i don't really remember my exact thought process on why I chose Etho's alias and power to be what they are. I think it was literally because his skin is a character from Naruto, and so i guess I just thought, "Naruto... ninja... invisible, yes, yes." And i said i won't mention the characters' powers but actually, the first line of Etho's poem, "Invisible steps, shadows in tow", already gave it away. And there's more to his powers than that anyways, so I guess it's fine.
Maestro = Ren
- Ren's alias gave me a hard time cuz I couldn't think of something that sounds dramatic enough. I ended up going with Maestro since the word means "a master usually in an art", and since Ren gives such a theater kid vibe, I went with it. Now, I had a bit of trouble with his power, mainly because it's similar to another character's, but I evntually found a way to differentiate the two so it's all good now. I just love Ren and Martyn's dynamic in 3rd Life, and in any interaction they have honestly. Ren's entire poem gives a nod to his dramatic theater kid vibe, but the line "Illusions dance, a show so grand" hints at what I plan for his whole character to be in the AU. And it also parallels the other character with similar powers to Ren.
Fortress = Cleo
- Cleo was one of the harder persons to think of a power and alias for. So i went and looked through videos and fanfics alike to see what i can pick up, and I noticed that in most fanfics I read, Cleo is often depicted as a strong and reliable person, and I can get that vibe in the videos I've seen of them. What really solidified my decision for her power, though, is that one moment in Double Life where she tells Martyn that they're both survivors, and that really stuck to me. As for the alias, the word fortress already gives the impression of strong and formidable, so I went with that. It felt like a weird alias the first few times, but it eventually grew on me, and now I kinda like it. The first line of their poem, "Strong as stone, yet swift to mend", also hints at another part of their power.
Mirage = Martyn
- I love his and Ren's theater kids vibe, and it's one of the reasons why I made their powers to be so similar. The reason for Martyn's power and alias is mostly because he's well known for always sneaking around without being seen most of the time, and being able to get away unseen as well. It's also that one line from Skizz during Secret Life that really cemented the power and alias. Skizz was complementing Martyn's ability to sneak around unnoticed and commented, "I'm honestly only 50% certain that you're standing in front of me." Also, aside from the powers, Ren and Martyn's poems are also very similar in the first part. Whereas Ren's is "Illusions dance", Martyn's first line, "Illusions twist, reality bends", not only hints at what differentiates his powers from Ren, but also references how Martyn likes to gaslight people, especially during Secret Life.
Sanguine = Skizz
- Skizz's alias and power are ones I'm most proud of. Every character's powers mostly have more than one part to it, and Skizz's is one i really like. One part of his power, I got inspiration from a fanfic I read in AO3 called "Wake the Dead" by Kiki_the_kiwi. The other part, i got inspiration from the way I noticed Skizz usually becomes in the life series (which martyn also pointed out during his interview in the Imp & Skizz Podcast). The first line of Skizz's poem, "Blood and battle, strength reborn", references this. As for his alias, it took me a long time to pick. I wanted something that suited his power and his character, and I eventually ended up on Sanguine. While it's not the most cool-sounding name, its meaning actually suits Skizz's character in this AU. Sanguine has two meanings, the first being "someone who is cheery" and the other being "blood" or "bloodthirsty", so... you can probably guess why I chose this alias for Skizz, and it also suits the way his power works.
Fenrir = Joel
- Actually, Joel was the hardest to think of a power for because his chaotic nature in the life series doesn't really leave me with a solid idea. Eventually, I just stuck to his 3rd Life vibe, which involves wolves. Hence the alias Fenrir, which is some sort of wolf Norse god, I'm not really sure, I didn’t research it that much (i also just really like the name). As for his powers, the same with every other character's powers in this AU, there's more to it than the surface level. The last part of his poem, "Strength in the pack, yet prone to fall", hints at this.
Starstrike = Scott
- For Scott, i mostly stuck to the most common winner symbol for him, which is stars. His powers isn't as complicated as the others, and the last part of his poem, "A shield, a blade, a step so sure", hints at what he can do with his powers. As for his alias, I guess it just sounded cool to me. I wanted something that relates to his star theme, but also gives the impression of someone not to be messed with, so I went with Starstrike.
The Canary = Jimmy
- Honestly, do I even have to explain? Lol! Jimmy's powers also got inspiration from the same fic I got for Skizz, which is "Wake the Dead" by Kiki_the_kiwi on AO3 (you should really check it out). And his poem, "The first to fall when danger is near", also references his Canary Curse.
Quake = BigB
- i honestly didn't know much about BigB as well, but from what I remember of him, mostly in 3rd and Secret Life, he was mostly mining/digging underground while stuff happens on the surface. His poem, "A rumble deep, the earth obeys", kinda also hints at this, as well as reminds me of his backrooms shtick in Secret Life.
Flora = Gem
- I kinda feel bad, but I honestly gave up with Gem, since I know less about her than others members since she's still a bit new to the life series, and I didn't really watch any of her stuff before. But the vibe I got from her is that she's sweet, but also kinda dangerous. So i thought, the alias Flora sounds sweet, but since it refers to plants and the like, it could also mean danger since there are dangerous plants. Her powers, though, isn't what you would initially think. Like I said, there's more to the characters' powers than what is on the surface level. And Gem's poem, "Nature's strength in her entwines", not only hints at another part of her powers, but also references where I got the inspiration for her powers, which is a certain character from the anime/manga called "Bungou Stray Dogs".
Nightshade = Lizzie
- Lizzie's power was one of the easiest to think of, but of course, there's more to her powers. The name Nightshade is something I really like, and with it being a beautiful plant usually associated with darkness and mystery, I thought that it suits Lizzie well, especially in the AU. Her poem, "In darkness she dwells with deadly grace", further insinuates this.
Aaaand, that's all of them! Sorry for the long post, but I also wanted to share my thought process in picking the alias for each character. And while I don't want to reveal too much of their powers until they get properly introduced, i figured it's fine to touch on the behind the scenes of it for a bit.
What do you guys think? Also, for the anon who asked, I hope this clears things up! :)

Found in Glimwood Tangle
The story of how Amity and Danny found each other in Glimwood Tangle and together started their journey to beat the gym challenge and take on Galar's champion! Danny Phantom AU where Danny and company are pokémon and Amity Park is their pokémon trainer.
Written for @crossoverdanuary Week, Day six: General video games Pokémon Sword & Shield | Momentum
I never played video games as a kid, and now as an adult I still haven't played that many. (Although I'm really enjoying Paranormasight right now. If I'd finished it, I might have used it for the crossover instead.) Pokémon Shield was my first ever pokémon game and my second ever video game period, and I know people say it's one of the less good pokémon games but I still have a certain fondness for it.
AO3 Link
[No Warnings Apply]
There was a white-haired girl in the forest, probably only seven or eight years old. Her white dress was stained with grass and dirt and moss. She was sitting on a tree stump. She was crying. She was lost.
He could remember sitting right where she was now, lost and crying... back when he was a boy and not a stump. Curiously, he approached her. He moved slowly, cautiously, trying not to startle her. But she startled anyway when she finally noticed him.
"Ah! A pokémon!" she shouted, falling off the stump and scrambling away. "Please don't hurt me!"
He tilted his head, watching silently with big, round eyes, careful not to move any closer and scare her away.
Her own eyes were wide with fear. She probably knew that wild pokémon were dangerous. But then, why was she here? Why had she wandered into Glimwood Tangle where it was so dark you could hardly see what was in front of you because the only light came from luminescent mushrooms. Why would she come to a place where the paths were so winding and confusing that even grown-ups sometimes got lost? Why would she go somewhere where ghost pokémon and psychic pokémon lived in such large numbers?
The Glimwood Tangle had been scary back when he was a boy. It must have been scary to her, too.
"H-hey," she said with a trembling voice. "You have green eyes, like me." It was true. Hers were even so bright they could almost be glowing, just like his were. "I've never seen a Phantump with green eyes before. I've only ever seen them with red eyes. But... I don't think you're a shiny Phantump, are you? You just have green eyes."
She seemed to be calming down now, so he risked floating a little bit closer to her. He hovered around her, checking to see if she was hurt. Her knees were bruised, but other than that, she looked okay.
"Dad says wild pokémon are dangerous, but you don't seem like you're gonna hurt me," she said, wiping the tear tracks from her cheeks. "My name is Amity, Amity Park. Do you have a name, little Phantump?"
He keened a response. I don't know. I can't remember.
Of course, she couldn't understand. She shuddered at the sound of his voice, but she didn't try to get away.
"Well... you've gotta have a name," she said. "Hm.... How about Danny? I always thought that was a nice name, don't you? You can be Danny the Phantump. Do you like it?"
Rather than try to answer when she wouldn't know what he was saying, he did a little flip in the air to show that he was happy. She'd picked out a good name for him, Danny. And now that she had calmed down a little, it was time to get her out of this forest.
Danny started floating away, back toward the path.
"Wait, where are you going?" Amity asked.
He stopped and turned back to look at her, nodding his wooden head for her to follow.
"You want me... to follow you?"
He did another flip of affirmation and waited as she hesitantly walked after him. She was tense, and trembling like a leaf, and stumbling on shaky legs, but she still followed, trusting him.
It had been a long time since Danny had gotten lost in these woods as a boy. Now, as a pokémon, he knew every path by heart. When they had to pass through tall grass, he floated high enough that Amity could see him, and tried to keep her away from any other pokémon he could spot.
They were almost to Ballonlea when a particularly bold and naughty impidimp jumped on Amity and she screamed.
Danny immediately flew to her rescue, hooking one of his branches around the impidimp and flinging it off. He saw that it was about to attack him next, but he tackled it and it ran away.
"Danny, you saved me!" Amity shouted, and wrapped her arms around his wooden head in an almost splintering hug.
For a moment, he let himself savor the contact. But her scream and shout would have attracted even more wild pokémon to her, and they would be here soon. He phased out of her grip and urged her forward. They weren't out of the woods yet, but they were so close. He could see the lights of Ballonlea piercing through the thick foliage of Glimwood Tangle.
"Right," Amity said determinedly as she realized what he was trying to do. "Let's keep going."
She stayed quiet and stuck close behind him, and he led the way and kept his eye out for other pokémon. Then, finally, A bright pink pokémon center stood before them, its neon sign lighting up the clearing. They had left Glimwood Tangle.
"Come on, Danny it's my turn to lead the way," Amity said. "My house is that way."
He hesitated, turning and looking back at the forest. He didn't belong in a town. Glimwood Tangle was his home. It was too bright here, too loud, too crowded.
"Do you not wanna come?" Amity asked, her face morphing into something very sad. "It's okay. I understand. Thank you for helping me. If you want to go back, I won't stop you."
Then again... Amity was his friend now, wasn't she? A friend. That was all he'd wanted since he died in those woods. A friend.
Danny did not turn back. Instead, unsure though he was, he floated forward. He cautiously followed Amity past the pokémon center, toward a big round building—the pokémon gym.
There were ropes cordoning off the entrance to the gym from the rest of the town. Amity slipped right under them and kept going without a thought.
"This year's gym challenge is going on right now, so they put these ropes up to keep gym challengers from getting lost," Amity explained. "Ballonlea can be hard to find your way around when you're not used to it."
She led the way up a hill, to a modest wooden house at the very top. It looked almost the same as every other house on the street, except the roof had been painted green instead of purple. Amity pushed open the lavender door with ease. It wasn't locked.
"Dad, I'm home!" she called.
"Amity! Sweetheart, where did you go?" A man hurried to the front doorway to wrap his daughter up in a hug.
Startled and uncertain, Danny tucked himself behind Amity, out of her father's sight.
"I was worried sick. I looked all the places you usually go, and couldn't find you. I was just calling the neighbors to see if they knew where you were. Are you alright? Your dress is all dirty. You're not hurt, are you?"
"I'm okay, now," Amity assured him, hugging him tightly back. "I heard someone in the woods calling for help. They sounded close, so I thought it would be okay if I went to help them, but whenever I got close to the voice, it would get farther away, and before I knew it, the voice was gone, and I was lost. I was really scared for a while, but then Danny came and showed me the way home."
"Danny?" her father questioned. "I don't know any Danny."
"He found me in the woods," she said. "It's okay, you can come out."
Cautiously, Danny showed himself to Amity's father.
"A wild pokémon?" he said. "Wait, but it has green eyes. I've never seen a phantump with green eyes before."
"Me neither," Amity said. "But he helped me, and protected me when another pokémon attacked. I know I'm only seven and you said I can't start training pokémon until I'm ten, but can I please please please have a pokéball so I can catch him and take care of him. Please!"
"Well... I don't know," her father said. "A pokémon is a lot of responsibility, especially when it used to be wild. I would feel much more comfortable if your first pokémon came from a breeder. I've spoken to Elena, who lives near the pokémon center and she said she'd be happy to breed a nice starter pokémon for you."
"But Danny saved me!" Amity insisted. "I want him to be my pokémon."
Her father sighed and looked back at Danny, his expression halfway between resigned and scrupulous. "Do you want to be Amity's pokémon?" he asked.
Danny keened and bobbed up and down.
"And you'll take care of her and keep her safe?"
Danny repeated the response.
Mr. Park turned to his daughter next. "And you'll take care of Danny, and make sure to train him properly?"
Amity nodded determinedly and clenched her fists.
Finally, her father sighed, giving in. "Alright, fine. I think I have a pokéball around here somewhere."
From that day on, Amity and Danny were partners, and Amity took her responsibility as a pokémon trainer very seriously. She would feed him every day, and talk to other pokémon trainers about how best to train him.
When his head got knocked around in a training battle with her neighbor's dwebble, Amity sanded away the splinters so they wouldn't turn into cracks.
On the day the whole family gathered around the television to watch the gym challenge finals, Amity sat on the floor, right up close, with a notebook and a pen, ready to write down everything they did so she could learn from them. Mr. Park sat behind her on the couch with Danny curled up on the seat next to him.
"You know," Mr. Park said softly, running his fingers over the wooden grooves on Danny's head. "I've never seen her so serious about anything. She's always been a light-hearted, carefree kid, but she sure cares about you."
Danny had been surprised to hear that. He'd blinked up at the man, confused. To him, Amity had always been like this. Amity was gentle, and caring, and kind. She worked hard, and studied, and did her best. It was hard to believe she was doing all this for him, and not just because it was her nature.
It was on that day that Danny swore to always protect Amity Park, no matter what.
If she was giving her all for him, then he would do the same for her.
The challenger lost to Raihan in the finals, and Raihan lost to Leon, but Amity had apparently taken a lot of notes on all the fights and was eager to apply them to her own training methods.
By the time Amity finally turned ten, she and Danny were inseparable. Everyone around town was so used to them, Danny hardly ever had to go in his pokéball. They were simply another feature of Ballonlea, like that weird guy who made sculptures in an alleyway and wanted to be a pokémon.
Then, on her birthday, something changed.
"Happy birthday, Amity," Mr. Park said, and he reached into his pocket, and handed her a pokéball. "I worked with Elena to pick out a good one for you."
Amity turned it around in her hands while Danny floated closer to examine it, confused. It seemed to be occupied. Danny could even catch a faint whiff of ozone coming from it. How strange.
"A pokémon?" Amity asked. "But I already have Danny."
Her father laughed. "You said you wanted to do the gym challenge this year, didn't you?" he said. "You'll need more than one pokémon if you want to have a chance of beating the champion. Even if your pokémon is as great as Danny."
"No one can beat the champion, that's why they call him Unbeatable Leon," Amity said. "But I guess you're right. As great as Danny is, I can't put all that pressure on him."
She could, Danny wanted to tell her. If Amity wanted to take on the gym challenge with him as her only pokémon, then he would fight like he'd never fought before. But Amity wasn't like that. She never gave him more than he could handle, and she wouldn't make him take on such a huge challenge alone. She was too kind for something like that.
"So which pokémon did you pick?" she asked.
"Throw it out and see," he answered with a smile, and gestured to the door to the backyard.
Once they were outside, Amity threw out the pokéball.
"Alright, pokémon, come on out!" she called.
The ball opened with a popping noise, and in a bolt of light, a little dog pokémon was standing on the moss lawn.
"Yamp! Yamp!" he barked.
"It's a yamper!" Mr. Park said brightly. "Normally, starter pokémon are either fire, grass, or water types, but Elena said especially talented trainers, or ones with more experience, have had a lot of success with electric types, who tend to be difficult to control for complete newbies. We thought yamper would be a good choice. What do you think?"
"Aww, he's so cute!" Amity said, kneeling down to rub her hands on the yamper's admittedly very fluffy-looking scruff. "I think I'll call him Tucker. That's a good name, right?"
"Uh... sure, whatever you like," her father agreed. "Although it's a bit atypical to give pokémon human names like Danny and Tucker, if you like it, that's all that matters."
"Oh, haha," she giggled as she stood up. "Look, the static is making it so his fur is trying to stick to me!"
Tucker ran in excited circles, electricity arcing around him. Danny floated down for a closer look and Tucker zapped him. It didn't seem intentional, but it was still rude. And that silly dog only yapped and rolled over, thinking it was terribly funny. The joke was on him, though. Electic-type moves weren't very effective on Danny.
"Elena says that yamper are best motivated with treats," Mr. Park said. "That should help you train him. He's still young and nowhere near Danny's level, but you have a couple months before the gym challenge to get him there."
"You say that like I'm already registered, but I need an endorsement to even sign up," Amity pointed out.
"Oh, don't be silly, Amity," her father said. "Everyone around here knows you're already a great pokémon trainer. I'm sure Opal is ready to endorse you the first chance she gets. When word got out it was your birthday today, I heard she was thrilled. She said, 'The next champion will come from Ballonlea!'"
Amity laughed. "That didn't happen!"
"Sure it did," her father insisted, though his smile betrayed him. "And anyway, I stand by saying she'll endorse you. I have no doubts about it."
At first, Danny was dubious about the new pokémon, but it was only a couple of days before the two of them were getting along famously.
So Amity and Danny spent the next few months training up Tucker. Amity had Danny remember some of his older, weaker moves for training fights with the much lower level yamper. And just like Mr. Park had said, Tucker wasn't very motivated and often had to be bribed with treats, especially sausages. But Amity was clever, and persevered, and soon enough, Tucker was a strong pokémon too.
Once sign ups for the gym challenge opened, Amity was sure her pokémon were ready for it. She took her pokémon to the Ballonlea gym and asked Gym Leader Opal for an endorsement to join. She had faith in Danny and Tucker, but just in case, she made sure to wear her pink dress when she asked. That would surely put Opal in a good mood.
"Why, Amity, I would be honored to endorse you," Opal told her. "But, I am also a gym leader, and it's a point of pride not to endorse just any trainer who asks without first testing their mettle."
"I'm ready," Amity said. "Whatever your test is, I'll take it now."
"Alright then, pop quiz," Opal said. "If I recall correctly from seeing you train them around town, your pokémon are a phantump and a yamper. What will they evolve into?"
"Tucker will evolve into a Boltund once he's strong enough. It shouldn't be long now," Amity answered. "And Danny won't evolve."
"Oh, I'm afraid that's only half-right, my dear," Opal said apologetically. "Phantump can evolve into trevenant."
"Yes, but a phantump only evolves into a trevenant when it's traded, and I would never trade Danny to anyone, even temporarily. You asked what my pokémon would evolve into. And my phantump isn't going to evolve. Besides, I don't think he would want to, anyway."
She was right. Tucker was always yapping excitedly about evolving into boltund, but Danny was perfectly happy just the way he was.
"Hm... I stand corrected," Opal said. "It seems you know your own pokémon even better than you know pokémon evolutions. If you'll come with me to my office a moment, I'll write you a letter of endorsement right now."
And she did just that.
"You take that letter to the gym in Motostoke, and they'll register you for the gym challenge," Opal explained. "It's quite a ways away, so you can call a flying taxi from the pokémon center when you're ready to go, but it's usually better to get to new places on your own two legs from there. You can train your pokémon on the routes between towns, and even catch new ones if you want to."
"I know," Amity said, taking the letter with reverence. "Thank you Ms. Opal. I won't let you down."
"I can't imagine you would," Opal said. "Good luck, Amity. I know you'll do great."
Amity was eager to get started. She went right home, packed her bag, and dressed in her favorite outfit, a white dress, white trainers, bright green leggings, and her favorite white boater hat. She'd gotten a lot better at keeping white clothes from getting dirty over the years, but she could only hope they wouldn't be ruined on her journey.
The ride in the flying taxi was amazing. The driver even let her keep Danny out of his pokéball since he was so well-behaved.
"Look at how small everything looks from up here," she said. Then she looked up at the massive bird carrying the taxi. "Maybe my next pokémon will be a corviknight."
"Oh, I wouldn't recommend that," the driver said. "A corviknight can be a lot to handle from the start. If you want one of these majestic pokémon, you'd do better to catch a rookidee and evolve it through training. That's how we get all the corviknight for the taxi service, that's why they're so gentle."
"A rookidee, huh?" Amity repeated. "Yeah, I like that idea. Danny, from now on, lets be on the lookout for a rookidee. I think Sam will be a good name for it. That will work whether it's a girl or a boy. What do you think?"
Danny keened in agreement, and Amity smiled like the sunshine. It had been a long time since his voice had made her shudder in the woods so long ago. And now, their journey was finally taking off.

Hi! First of all, love the AU and fic, I've been keeping up with it for about a year now and I love seeing new updates on it! Secondly, I was wondering two things... #1. Is Adderfang still Thistlestar's mentor in this AU? I don't believe we ever saw much of their Mentor-Apprentice relation in the fic if it existed, (likely because Adderfang hates Thistlestar so much xD) what was that like? Do you think Adderfang's reaction being so extreme was not only because he loves his daughter, but also because he felt betrayed at his former apprentice's actions? and #2. In Leopardstar's honor, a timeline is given for Mosspelt's pregnancy and relationship with Frogleap, and through another wonderful oversight by the Erins, Mosspelt apparently was pregnant while she was still an apprentice, from Frogleap, a cat who was ~4 years old. She gave birth around the same age as Spottedleaf had the Firesibs! I know that the BT timeline is a bit altered from canon, and that the fic pre-dates some later retcons from the series, like Volewhisper surviving. Is Frogleap having a predatory relationship with Mosspaw/pelt a thing that happened in BT? If so, what was that like for Mosspelt? Did she ever get any support in her hardships? did Dawnflower join the rebels out of a disdain for Thistlestar, knowing he has done terrible things like her father did as well? Anyways, that's about all. Sorry for such a long message! Thanks for putting so much time into your work and making such a great fic, and for taking the time to read my questions!!
yes Adderfang is still Thistlestar's mentor! i don't believe if it was ever mentioned in the fic or any one-shots, but he is lol. Adderfang's reaction was so extreme because Spottedpaw was his Precious Baby Girl and he very abruptly realized during the reveal how awful it was that someone in a position of power was getting with an apprentice (he would not have been so aggressive if this was a situation with a different apprentice and warrior---for example, Whitepaw and Goldenflower, or something. he cared and got protectively angry so much because it was his own daughter affected). the fact that Thistlestar was his own apprentice honestly didn't even cross his mind until it was over, and then it was just a very angry thought process of "i never taught him to be like that! (did i teach him to be like that?)" (yes, he taught him to be like that---not a predator, but he taught, unintentionally, Thistlestar to be more aggressive. remember, Adderfang was a part of Thistleclaw's groups that attacked kittypets for no reason.)
in BT canon, Mosspelt and Frogleap's relationship isn't touched upon much because I didn't realize how young Mosspelt was and also I'm not sure how much their age gap changes with the condensed timeline in BT lol. But! But! There are always hidden inappropriate relationships in the background (like, WillowTawny, although that's not really in the bg, but compared to SpottedThistle, GrassThistle, and DawnFinch, its not as prominent. also ShadeThistle is a bg bad-relationship. and i believe Cloudrunner x Morningflower would be one too, and there's definitely more. and future ones, like Snowbird x Scorchfur), so I do think Frog and Moss could be as it is in accidentally implied canon, where Frog groomed Moss. after all, most of RiverClan was pretty accepting of Thistle getting with Grass, weren't they? well, in general, it is---or was---unfortunately an acceptable part of clan culture. I do think that there is a multitude here; I think Frogleap is not as manipulative as Thistlestar, and cared more genuinely about Mosspelt and her emotions. While that does not make what he did okay AT ALL, I think Mosspelt did not experience as much negative emotions about the situation, and she doesn't perceive herself as being preyed upon. There are real life relationships like this, and they're definitely not ideal, and there's issues, but sometimes it just works out like that. i think there might have been issues down the line though, if Frogleap had survived, and Mosspelt had grown more as a person and developed differences in her personality than to how she was as an apprentice/young warrior. I'm getting "they died a happy couple, but if he had lived, she would have grown up and become more independent and he'd get upset at the changes, and then she'd divorce him" vibes
Dawnflower was one of Thistlestar's victims! it's mentioned a few times in passing that Thistlestar would 'go on patrol' with Dawnpaw, or look at Dawnpaw. actually, most young she-cats in RiverClan (Silverstream, Grasswhisker, Vixenleap, Shadepelt, Dawnflower, Primroseleaf, Feathertail, etc.) experienced some level of "creepiness" with Thistlestar. Dawnpaw/flower was one of the ones that Thistlestar would definitely say a bunch of weird shit to and touch her, but they never did anything past that. still, Dawnflower was scared shitless by him and terrified he'd do something she didn't want to him. she also just hated how aggressive/annoying Thistle and Lightning's rule was, so she left the instant she had an out (LeopardClan), though she was also really scared to leave her family/home behind, and worried for her siblings/friends. Dawnflower also definitely thinks of Frogleap (her dad) as a good warrior, and has no idea his and Mosspelt's relationship would have been similar to what she was experiencing (though, again, Mosspelt viewed Frogleap's attention as a much more positive thing, sort of like how Spottedleaf did with Thistlestar at the beginning. Meanwhile, Dawnflower was just always scared of his attention)
it's interesting, definitely, that Mosspelt stood against Thistlestar and what he'd done, yet never saw that she was victim to something similar too... though, to be fair, she joined LeopardClan because she supported Leopardfur as a close friend (through Frogleap) and knew Leopardfur was being unjustly accused, not necessarily out of a hatred of Thistlestar himself. much to think about...

Philosophical Mosshead? Eloquent Inner Thoughts Of The Swordsman
Punk Hazard presented one bizarre anomaly after another to the straw hats in what felt like a never-ending freakshow parade that defied everything Zoro knew about nature. He wasn't fazed by it, just curious. He accepted that there was a strong possibility that the island's multitudinous eccentricities would never be explained to him, and he was at peace with it.
Even so, nothing, not the bifurcated weather, not the human-animal hybrids, not the talking autonomous legs, none of it prepared him for the shock of seeing his crewmates personalities randomized among their bodies. His friends had been swapped around in a way that was mind-boggling.
'This circus is almost hilarious. Such an existentially challenging display of the superficialities of physical form,' Zoro mused privately as he watched his crew interact.
Zoro kept his thoughts to himself. He had two priorities. The first was keeping his bearings and not letting the situation rattle him.
The second was finding Lana. His eyes swept the cavern, taking in the befuddled straw hats, captive centaurs and gigantic children. The scene was incredibly chaotic in a quiet, dazed way. Even so, he felt like he should have spotted her by now.
"Think we should tell him?"
Zoro's haki caused the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up. Despite the fact that Nami hadn't said his name, he knew she was talking about him. Her intent invoked his presence and drew his attention preternaturally.
"I don't know. I doubt he would take it well. And she can take care of herself, right?" Franky replied, voice low. Not low enough. Zoro bore down on the two, hands firmly on his hips, eyebrows knit with concern and suspicion, lips pressed together in a hard, humorless line. His crewmates unconcealed intents betrayed the identity of the 'she' they mentioned.
"Where's Lana?" he demanded, drawing their attention for the first time. Franky squeaked, jumped and gulped, shrinking back a little from the imposing presence the swordsman was projecting. Nami, by contrast, crossed her arms obstinately over her chest, squared her stance, threw her shoulders back and met his gaze with no sign of intimidation. A second later, she cast her gaze down, eyes tripling in size as she realized the effect the change in posture had on her breasts.
"Wow, Nami! They're so full from this angle in this pose!" she exclaimed, expression enamored.
"Idiot!" Franky scowled. He raised his hand, but then seemed to think better of it and held back. "Stop looking! If that wasn't my body, I would have knocked you clean out by now!"
The strange behavior reminded Zoro that he couldn't take his crew at face value at the current moment. Sanji was in Nami's body and Nami in Franky's. He made a mental note. He wouldn't confuse the two again.
"Hey! Both of you cut it out!" he scolded the pair. He needed them to focus. "I know you were talking about Lana! What is it you're not going to tell me? What won't I take well?"
Nami and Sanji shared a look, then Sanji shrugged with Nami's delicate shoulders.
"He's wise to the fact that something's wrong," he sighed. "Might as well tell him what we know."
"For all the good it'll do," Nami sighed. "Not like we know much anyway."
"Nami! Spit it out!" Zoro barked.
"Cool the aggression, moss-head," Sanji scowled. "No one's happy with what's going on, don't take it out on Nami-swan."
"If someone doesn't tell me where Lana is," Zoro seethed, patience quickly wearing thin.
"We don't know," Nami cut him off. "That's all. She's... been missing since we all woke up after being gassed. She wasn't with the rest of us in the cell and we didn't see her while we were escaping the lab."
"The last time anyone saw her was on the ship," Sanji informed him.
Dread curled in Zoro's gut, but he clamped down on it with every shred of discipline and logic at his disposal.
'She's fine. She can take care of herself. Wherever she is, whatever happened, she'll be alright.'
Even so...
"Missing... you should have said something sooner," he grumbled. He reached inside his robe, down into the left pocket of his pants, rustling through its contents until he came up with a scrap of folded purple paper. He breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
'Not singed. She's fine. Still... just because she's not dying doesn't mean she's not in trouble. She should have been with the others when they were captured... why wasn't she with them when they all woke up?'
"Luffy!"
Zoro left Sanji and Nami to find his captain cavorting with the gigantic children like he was one of them.
"No one's seen Lana since we left the ship," Zoro informed him. "I'm going to look for her, that alright?"
"Don't see why not," Luffy shrugged. "Want me to come with you?"
"No, that's fine," Zoro shook his head. "You've got enough to deal with here."
"If you say so! Hey, Mocha peeked!"
"I did not!" the enormous child squealed.
Zoro walked away from his captain, leaving him to whatever game he was occupying the children with. He held the vivre card on his flat palm, watching as it slowly, surely tugged toward his thumb. He set off at once in the direction it indicated, but only made it a few paces before he came face-to-face with a wall. Unconcerned and determined to carry on in a straight line, he drew Shusui. The hum of tempered black steel caught Usopp's attention, who shrieked and rushed over to restrain his friend, frantically grappling with Zoro's wrist.
"Zooorooo! Whaaat do you think you're doing?!" Usopp howled, pulling Zoro's arm back with his entire body. Zoro submitted to his pulling, raising an eyebrow at him.
"I don't see any doors, so I'm going straight through," he explained, tone implying this should have been obvious.
"Are you crazy?! We know the marines are on the island, and Nami made it sound like Luffy's warlord buddy Trafalgar isn't acting as friendly as Luffy expects him to!" Usopp scolded fiercely. "How about moving through this place with at least a little attempt at subtlety?!"
"I don't need subtlety," Zoro growled. "I'm going to find Lana and I'll slice up anything or anyone who gets in my way!"
"Can't you at least put some distance between yourself and our little hideout before you start wrecking things?!" Usopp moaned desolately.
"Get off my arm, Usopp! You're slowing me down!" Zoro scowled, shaking his arm lightly in an attempt to dislodge his friend. Usopp just shook his head and held on more stubbornly as the waving motion of Zoro's arm pulled him off his feet.
Robin approached with a smile that was equal parts amusement at her friends' antics and a kind offer to help in any way possible.
"Why don't you let me accompany you, swordsman?" she proposed. "I can help you find the doors so you don't have to slice through any walls."
"Thanks, but no thanks. I'll move faster on my own," Zoro grumbled. He raised and lowered his arm violently with Usopp still clinging to him, yelping through clenched teeth.
"And if you mistakenly slice Lana in half by cutting down a wall while she's on the other side?" Robin mused morbidly.
"Yeah, Robin, that's it! Psyche him out with the power of your secret inner darkness," Usopp cheered. Zoro finally managed to shake him off and he fell to the ground in a dazed heap. "So dizzy..."
"In addition to helping you locate the doors, I can help keep a lookout as well," Robin informed Zoro. As if to prove her point, she materialized a dazzlingly bright blue eye on the wall at eye level with the swordsman. "I may even be able to locate Lana in advance."
"I'll know when she's close," Zoro retorted. His observation haki was still rough, but he imagined he was familiar enough with Lana's presence that he would be able to feel her when he drew near to her. He sheathed Shusui. "But... I guess a few extra sets of eyes couldn't hurt."
"You two have fun," Usopp called after them, recovering and hauling himself back to his feet. "Robin, try to make him be subtle! And don't let him get lost!"
"I'll see what I can do," she promised in parting.

oh sorry. 19 for appearance for roo. and 14 for objects
19, APPEARANCE: if your character had to get a tattoo, what would it be?
rudy's not a tattoos guy, they're painful and make it way easier to identify you to police if they're in a visible spot because you can't get rid of them lol, but maybe if we got him drunk enough or put a gun to his head we might be able to talk him into something! it's worth a shot!!!
he'd pick a small tattoo and have it in a hidden spot, probably a little red rose with thorns in that spot above the thigh that people pretty much never see unless you're completely naked.
you know where i mean right. adjacent to the groin. 🙄 whore.
anyway he wouldn't want to get anything deeply sentimental that people might ask about but a rose looks nice
14, OBJECTS: is there an item your character is embarrassed to own or embarrassed about wanting to own?
rudy doesn't really accumulate Sentimental Stuff or Embarrassing Things like most people do because of the way he lives. a rolling rudy gathers no moss etc etc. you know. the most sentimental thing he owns currently is probably the sunglasses dick gave him or his favorite shirt tbh.
i've thought about this a lot and really just the IDEA of admitting he'd want to accumulate a lot of "junk" in one place embarrasses him actually- it's hard to say you want to be vulnerable, to put down roots and be unable to completely pack up and bug out if everything comes crashing down around you (again.)
so i don't think he'd have anything WITH him that he'd be embarrassed about- but jack probably has plenty of old pictures and tapes of him packed up somewhere that rudy doesn't want anyone seeing.
(jack's a pack rat btw. he holds on to a lot of useless old junk.) (useless old junk... rudy...)
as far as something he'd want to own that he'd be embarrassed about, i think he'd be embarrassed to admit he wants to start a coin collection lol.
it's just a quiet nerdy hobby that he'd enjoy since he likes paying attention to little details and sorting small objects and he already knows a lot about coins.
kind of cheating since that's technically not "an item" but i don't care. what are you gonna do about it. kill me? not if i kill you first.

I have more question and would like to hear your thoughts on some what ifs
1) do you think autumn wouldn’t have stayed in Chan’s pack if there would have been specific rules for omegas, even if they were ones to actually protect them? Ex: when close to your heat let others know when you are going out and request of someone else go with you
2) thoughts on if Changbin just so happened to find himself in a dark alley with Autumn’s ex and he knew there would be no consequences. Mine are I doubt the guy makes it out alive
3) like how Chris in the actual band doesn’t care about seniority and let’s IN do things like hold the trophy first, get first bites ex, does this happen in the actual pack?
4)if it was just mitten and Sir P/future cats for the rest of ever by themselves, do you think he’d suffer from lone wolf syndrome? Do you think he’d notice if he did get it?
5) are lunar eclipses and solstices also important for the wolves for runs and celebrations?
6) what if instead happy zoomies from Chris when he finally learns he’s gonna be a dad, he actually gets so excited and worked up he passes out? Thoughts? Cause like tbh it would be so cute.
7) for soulmates/truemates, if one of them were to pass would the other likely die of a broken heart? If so, does it ever happen to just other mates/packmates?
-🥝
love these so much, you already know.
she could've dealt with rules for omegas depending on what the rules were. if they'd been something like "omegas tend to the household while their alphas work" or "omegas must obey higher designations" she definitely wouldn't have stayed.
wr!Changbin has had his fair dose of anger issues, and i feel like all those would resurface if he saw Hyunwoo lol. he'd definitely try to fight, and at the very least, he'll get him unconscious..
yes, yes it does. Chris just wants his pack members to follow the very few rules he's put in place (help each other out when needed, speak out if you're uncomfortable, protect each other, anyone that's coming to the building must be introduced to Chris, and he will decide whether or not they can come into the den, etc). other than that, everyone's pretty much equal.
he wouldn't notice if he were suffering from lone wolf syndrome, at least not for a while. but, kitten and sir p are part of his pack, so he wouldn't get it anyway. in this universe, lone wolf syndrome is more about the pack than it is about being surrounded by other wolves. it's also why, when jisung found them, minho was fine. he wasn't alone, he had kitten (and his mum, and sir P, and kitten's dad).
yes, yes they are! i just haven't decided how they affect werewolves in this universe ahhaha. anything related to the sun, the moon, and the stars can affect them in one way or another.
awwwww, that's cute. i don't think he'll fully pass out, but i'm sure he'll be really close to hahah. he'll either try to go on a run to let those feelings out, or not detach himself from his prettiest for a second (aka, enters annoying protection mode).
yes, soulmates/truemates would die if the other passed. we know chris x pretty are soulmates, as are hyunlix x moss. with hyunlix and moss, if two of the throuple remain alive it's very likely that they'll survive for much longer, since they have each other, you know? if two of them die, whoever's left will die of a broken heart. same thing with pretty x chris. i feel like it's obvious that if pretty died, Chris would 100% die of a broken heart. what people might question is what would happen to pretty if Chris died.... pretty is human, but the universe has tied her to Chris, so she'd also die of a broken heart if he died. regular mates wouldn't necessarily die of a broken heart, but it's very likely that they wouldn't mate ever again (it'd depend on the relationship they had, honestly). pack mates usually wouldn't die of a broken heart if one of their own passed.
hope these answer your questions and that they make sense sjkdfhskjf feel free to let me know if they don't

Sure this is an art blog but is writing not just another form of art? Anyways take this it’s not finished but I think it’s cool!
Eustass Kidd x Usopp one shot fic, whole fic is in Usopp’s POV,
The idea of having four crews of the worst generation on one island was a terrible idea, however it couldn't be avoided. Sanji needed to restock on spices and meat, Franky wanted to dock somewhere to work on the ship and repair some things, even Usopp had things he needed to do on the island. But the thought of seeing Law's crew sounded like a pain in the butt while running into Hawkin's or Kid's crew sounded more like a fight waiting to happen.
"Usopp I don't like the sound of this either but the next island is about a week away, and unless you and Luffy can consistently catch a ton of fish. Luffy might start thinking about eating one of us."
"I would not!"
"Yes you would Luffy."
"Hihi! Yeah I would!"
"B-But, Nami... Please!!! I'd be fine if it was just Law's crew but-"
"Torao is here?!"
Nami turns to glare at Usopp. Shit. "That settles it! We're docking at the island then! That's alright right Nami?"
If looks could kill Usopp would probably be dead. Nami gritted out in a sickly sweet tone " Yeah, sure Luffy! I'd love to dock at the same exact island that three other dangerous crews are on!"
Luffy stared at Nami with a blank face, not quite getting that she was being sarcastic.
"..... Great?"
She sighs, she's been trying to help Luffy understand more social cues as well as when people are being nice versus when people are being rude. It looks like it's not working very well though.
Nami turns to Usopp, " This is your fault."
And truth be told, yes it was his fault that Luffy heard that Law was at the island but it was not his fault that they ran out of food to keep their ship crew fed. For the most part. Okay maybe he and Luffy one too many midnight snacks. Fine, more like 10 but who's counting.
Usopp heard a chuckle coming from Robin lying in the lawn chair and reading. " Well perhaps we'll run into a bit of fun? Maybe one of us will be framed for murder of a rival crew member?"
Franky comes out to the deck to reply, "Don't scare Nami and Usopp too much, plus I think it'd be a lot more entertaining if it actually was one of us! And it was like some kind of revenge plot or something!"
Robin looked at Franky with admiration and love, then proceeded to say "Isn't that a bit too cliche, Flam?"
"Well, I gues- wa-! Robin! You know I hate being called that!" Said Franky with a small pout on his lips. As Robin started to chuckle again.
"God they're so fucking sappy and cheesy, it's so cute and I'm really glad they're happy together but like god damn!"
"You're so right Nams, look at them all happy and shit. Absolutely disgusting."
"Girl, don't agree with me. I hate you right now, now we literally have to dock on this shitty island because you couldn't keep your voice down."
"You KNOW he has selective hearing, he would've heard anyways!"
Zoro interjected with "You know he wouldn't have heard anything if you both had shUT THE FUCK UP! NOW-"
"GO BACK TO SLEEP MOSS HEAD!"
"YOU SHOULD GO WANDERING OFF INTO THE DAMN OCEAN AND DROWN ASSHOLE!"
And Zoro immediately butt out of the argument as he got hit by both Nami and Usopp.
"Anyways, both of you are on dish duty for the rest of the week."
"You can't do that!"
"I DIDNT DO SHIT!!"
"Too bad, now get ready to leave the ship. You're also both on grocery duty."
The two men groaned as Nami walked away in a huff. Zoro looked at Usopp in the eye and sent him a little glare.
"Don't look at me like that. Look I'll buy you some good sake alright?"
"... I want two bottles of good sake."
"Ugh, deal."
With a little grin Zoro went back to relaxing, or maybe to maybe have a quick nap before going. Either way he was resting. Usopp walks down to his workshop to double check what parts he already has and which ones he needs and made a checklist of them. As he was about to go to ask Franky if he also needed any parts or what not he hears a knock on his door. Usopp opens it to find Sanji.
"Dish duty and grocery duty huh?"
"Man, shut the hell up."
Which earned a small laugh from Sanji.
"I'm gonna go wake the Marimo up now so you better hurry before we leave you."
"Wait, I gotta ask Frank a couple of things before I go."
Franky then pops his head from his workshop and proceeded to ask, "What do ya need to ask me?"
Usopp was surprised to see him there, not that it was irregular to see him in his own room. It was just that Usopp didn't expect him to be here. He thought he was still with Robin or something. He probably just didn't hear Franky coming down because he was so focused on his supply check.
"Since I'm going shopping I wanted to know if ya wanted me to get you any parts before they sell out of what we need or something."
"Aw, thanks little bro! I need like about 20 of the 35-67-20 seals and 10 of those 45-80-12 seals and about 100 or maybe even 200 nuts and screws of all the standard sizes and also three bouquets of Tulips, Rhododendrons, Zinnias, Plantain lilies and Day Lilies."
"Three?"
"Yeah, I looked for some flowers that were safe for deer and people and I'm giving one bouquet to Robin, Chopper and Nami to brighten their rooms a little!"
"Aw that's sweet! But don't you think Chopper might eat those? Considering that those flowers are safe for deer to eat? Although he isn't technically a deer but a reindeer."
Franky answered stood there in silence along with Usopp and Sanji. All of them ponder the question that was just asked. Franky then started to leave as he said to Usopp "So the seals, nuts and screws! Get 'em for me will ya? Thanks little bro!" And proceeded to go to the deck, probably to question Chopper whether he likes to eat flowers or not. Sanji then mumbled something under his breath.
"What was that Sanji?"
"Nothing, just wondering what I should make for dinner, anyways now that that's over with come on."
They walked out over to the deck to find Zoro, not where he was before. Or any of his usual sleeping spots.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!"
"God fucking dammit. He probably thought we left him or some shit. Fuuuuuck."
"That damned moss head, it's like he literally has moss in his head instead of an actual human brain. I'd say I can't believe this, but this is pretty on par for that dumbass."
"Should we split up and look for him before we go shopping?"
"We can't, we need to buy the groceries before the good shit is all sold out to the other crews, that fucking bitch is gonna pay if that happens!"
"Okay so what's the plan? Just buy the groceries?"
"Usopp look, I'm gonna need you to buy everything on this list I made for you. I'll handle half of the Marimo's list and you get the other half, can I count on you to buy the best ingredients you can find for as cheap as you can?"
Usopp smirked and replied confidently, " Nami ain't the only that can get a good bargain!"
"Hell yeah, go! Make me proud!
.
Usopp was arguing with a lady about the rice that Sanji needed him to buy. He heard from another vendor that he gets all his rice from here because her rice was high quality and delicious. So he did what he had to do to get the rice.
"My final offer! 10,000 berries for 160 kilograms of your finest rice!"
"Hah! The lowest I'll go is 16,000 for 30 kilos."
"What if I said please?"
"Hmm, 15,500 for 30."
"And if I said I'd help you repair your food stand?"
"Now you're talking! 12,500 for 30!"
"Deal! Pleasure doing business ma'am!"
"Like wise."
As Usopp shook her hand he felt proud of himself, he could understand Nami in a way. Getting a bargain did feel pretty good. But then he realised his mistake. He can't carry all this rice. Well technically he could, but that would take around two or three trips. Not only that but it's starting to get dark and he hasn't bought what Franky needs yet. He starts to think hard on what to do until he hears a loud yell from across the street.
He looks over and, oh. Oh no.
"Hey! You're the sniper for the Strawhats aren't ya?"
OH NOOOOOOOOOO
"Where's that shitty little kid anyways?"
This was not a good day for Usopp.
"Hey! You ignoring me or something you brat?"
"W-Who're you calling a brat! I'm only four years younger than you!"
Shit. As soon as Usopp finished his sentence, there was a murderous glint in Kidd's eye. He started to walk over to Usopp.
"Oh really? So you're the same age as that stupid captain of yours?"
"If you hurt me, uh. Luffy will come after you!"
He's getting closer he's almost right in front Usopp.
"Who cares about your captain? He ain't here now. What I wanna know is, what you would do."
What?
He leans over and whispers into Usopp's ear, "What would you do to me, huh?"
He then pulled away and smirked at Usopp. Taking in his flushed face.
"So you want help?"
"W-Whuh? Um. I-"
Kidd sighed and said, "THE BAGS? Do you need help with the bags? You know, the shit you have in your hands?"
"Oh! Uh I mean. I guess. Fuck! Yes, I mean yes I. Haha sorry. Just. Gimme a moment."
Holy fuck? What the fuck was that? What the FUCK was that? That was so fucking hot and terrifying holy shit what.
"Could you, h-help me with the rice? That'd be really helpful and um."
Kidd looks at Usopp, and asks with an aggravated tone, "What?"
"My name is Usopp. Uh, yeah."
Kidd raised an eyebrow and looked him dead straight in the eye. He laughed, and replied with a smile "I know."
This man is going to be the death of him. He didn't think it'd be this kind of death but nonetheless a death.
"So where do you need to go?"
"Well I need to go to the parts shop and maybe the junkyard if we have time."
"Sick. So which way?"
"Well a vendor I talked to before said that the parts shop should be further down a couple of streets and that I'd need to take a right turn at the red bar then proceed down that street and then we'd find it."
“Well then hurry up, I ain’t got all day you know.”
The walk was quiet, and quickly turning into an anxiety churning venture. He didn’t understand what was happening. Sure, he understood that he was shopping for groceries and then Kidd came into the picture. He invited himself in on this little adventure or whatever just as suddenly as he arrived. Usopp still wasn’t really sure what happened between that. That must have been a joke or something right? Or maybe this was a dream? Maybe he’s actually on the ship! Unconscious from Nami’s punch! Maybe-

Tumblr media
Norhi was half done loading her cart up for the trip north out of Camp Broken Glass. She had supplies she wanted to get to her friends. Garlemald had been harsh. The Final Days were not making it easier. She was grateful for the last letting from her family, saying they were safe.
The family she'd been able to reach, anyhow.
She glances over at some noise and sees a group coming into town. Some of the Garlean soldiers that were working with the Alliance for now. She fidgets and sets the box she held into the cart, before turning to walk over.
She quietly scoots up near one of them, a young man near the edge of the group. "Ummm... hey..."
The man startles for a moment and then blinks at Norhi, seeming to vaguely recognize her after a moment. "Hello?"
Norhi grins sheepishly and says, "Sorry. I'm Norhi. I umm... I was hoping you could... answer a question. I mean... I don't know. I'm not sure if you'd even know. I'm not sure anyone does anymore."
The man frowns in confused worry and then half shrugs. "Ummm... I'm Anthony. And I guess at a minimum, I can give you an I don't know?"
Norhi half smiles then and rubs her hands together. "I'm looking for someone. I know. Everyone is, it seems. My cousin was... brought here, to Garlemald, when I was young. He'd be about thirty now. I don't even know if he's still alive. But... I keep hoping. Maybe."
Anthony sighs and looks back at his patrol squad. "Not seen a lot of miqo'te recently. A few though. What does he look like?"
Norhi scrunches her nose, thinking for a moment. "Well, we were both still kids. But he had grey skin like mine. But ash brown hair and green eyes. Like moss. Both of his parents were very broad shouldered though. So, I imagine he probably would be too. "
Anthony frowns in thought, before nodding softly. "I... I might be misremembering. But there was someone one of my squadmates was talking to at another safehouse, on our patrol. Your description reminds me of him. Let me talk to my squad. Erm... what was your cousin's name?"
Norhi grimaces. "Back home, his name was Misah'to. I don't know if that would have changed here, or not."
Anthony coughs uncomfortably and then nods. "Got it. Misah'to. And... you're Norhi... with... the Twin Adders?"
Norhi quickly shook her head. "Ah. No. I'm a contractor for the Bellworks Manufacturing. We're civilians, really."
Anthony's eyebrows raise in surprise. "They brought civilians?" he mutters more to himself.
He quickly coughs again. "Right. Anyway. I'll let you know. Anyway... I have to catch up."
Norhi nods and steps back. "Of course. Thank you."
She then turns and jogs back to her cart, quietly tamping her hope back down. It was probably someone else.

Hi! I haven't been on tumblr in years, but I recently read your Utpalaka/Kuchinawa fic on Ao3 (I'm rane_ne) and thought I'd come here to thank you for igniting a new ship within my soul to obsess over. Your story was wonderful and I would love to see more (if you ever decide to write more) > v < Thank you again! I very much enjoyed reading it!
and with that I can finally answer this! Hi! This is STILL the funniest thing that's happened to me all year!!
Thanks for reading it and being inspired by it aksjkas I'm writing this MONTHSSS after the fact but I'm really glad I invested a lot of attention on Uty and Kuchi now! Cuz WOW their character quests don't fuck around!!
I do still plan to write a few things for them but my god I think. I think Swamp Light and Between Light and Dark have destroyed my initial (horny) view of them so I guess it's up to the muse upstairs
thanks again!!
Edit: actually let me give you this excerpt I meant to finish a while ago but. Between Light and Dark threw me off and I have to rethink the entire premise lmao
>
"I've hit my quota."
"So you have! Congratulations," the snake yawned, but Utpalaka couldn't see his face. "And farewell. That's what you came to tell me today, right?"
He was right. And even so, something about the exchange still felt lacking. The space between them, though filled with moss and flood and rainwater, felt emptier than the shrine he saw walking up to this place. Utpalaka clenched his fist. He knew to himself that these days, Kuchinawa was more comfort than he was an obnoxious little shit - but he couldn't help but expect more. But what were 'these days' anyway? He hadn't seen him since Melpiphia was buried, thousands of years ago.
Funny how things went, he mused, approaching the snake on his perch by the rotting planks. Gingerly, he sat himself down - careful not to touch any part of him. The Dragon God's Swamp oozed of heavenly energy. Any more than the rain drizzling above them both, and Utpalaka feared that Kuchinawa might just crumble under the weight.
A puff of smoke scattered out into the swamp. It smelled faintly of snake oil and elven incense. He tossed him a pointed look - one that Kuchinawa ignored. He still refused to look at him. "How did you think to find me here, anyhow? Not a place you would expect a frail little thing like me would frequent,"
"That's a question I should be asking you. You know what'd happen to you if you stuck around a place like this for too long."
"I do," Kuchinawa chuckled - a weak, ringing sound. It reminded Utpalaka too much of sacred bells. "But a little bird told me I could find a pretty flower here. Called it a blue lotus... they told me they bloom once a year. I figured I might as well. Couldn't miss it."

Writer's Month
Day 2: Perfume
Fire and Ice Universe
(incidentally, also following on from yesterday)
Anselm found me beneath one of those fragrant trees about an hour before sunset. I'd left off the position of a true penitent in favor of leaning backwards against one of the tree trunks. The moss under my legs was springy and damp, and yet in the heat of the walled garden, it wasn't the least bit cold.
Anselm seated himself beside me, leaning against the same trunk to angle his body slightly away. His shoulder brushed mine, almost in afterthought. "You did well today?"
My eye twitched as the memory of that woman's face swam up in my mind. I scoffed. "Of course I did. I always do."
Anselm cast a glance my way. I pretended I couldn't feel the weight of it against my skin. "You're angry."
"What do I have to be angry about? I have the King's favor, a new assignment. More power than I've ever even wanted."
Anselm said nothing. The perfume of the orange blossoms saturated the air around us, thick and cloying.
I picked up a pebble and tossed it away. "What are you doing here, Anselm?"
"I come here to meditate sometimes. With the King's permission."
I tasted bile. "Of course."
"He might allow you to do the same, you know. If you asked it of him."
I stared up at the canopy of leaves above my head. The shadows of evening were lengthening all around us. Would the lights from the palace shine through the glass and burst the illusion that we really were in some kind of mythical summer garden?
"I don't think so," I said.
We fell into silence once again. Beetles chittered in the nearby foliage. Sweet Ice, the King had even managed to populate his little forest with a host of insects.
"So this is it, then?" Anselm asked. "You plan to never talk to me again?"
"I'm talking to you right now."
"And yet your silences are louder than your words."
I gritted my teeth and let another one build between us.
"We were friends," Anselm said.
"Were we?"
"Weren't we?"
His gaze locked with mine, and a strange wash of emotion roiled in my gut. The heat that had spun through me that night at Castle Eran. The swirl of worry and concern that had followed me for weeks when he'd stayed away afterwards. The pain I'd felt when he'd finally explained that we would not be together. That we couldn't be.
"You're answering questions with questions," I said.
"And you're deflecting."
"I wonder who I learned that from."
His lip curled in a rare flash of emotion. "I miss talking to you."
"There are dozens of people you can talk to, Anselm. You have devotees hanging on your every word."
"And that's the problem," he said. "They're devotees. Foot soldiers. If I asked them to walk into the Chasm unarmed, they'd do it, no questions asked."
"I thought that's the kind of loyalty you sought to inspire," I said. "It certainly matches up with your beloved father figure."
I made a face, and Anselm saw it. "That's it," he said. "That, right there. If I told you to walk into the Chasm, you'd tell me to go fuck myself."
My lips twitched, and I schooled my face into neutrality. "And I'm certain I'd spend the next month moving snow in the lower town."
"After I talked you into going into the Chasm anyway," Anselm said, voice soft. "With me, rather than for me."
I met his eyes again, and the gentleness in them pierced me to the core.
I shifted uneasily against the tree. "So you like me because I flout your authority? That's a cliche."
"I like you because you don't care about my authority. Or my power. When we talk, you see beyond it. You see me."
I looked skyward, shaking my head. "I can't do this. I can't be your confidante again. I can't just step back into that role. Things have changed."
"They don't have to."
"They have," I said. I stood up, suddenly furious. "I told you what I wanted, Anselm. I told you, and I showed you. I made myself perfectly clear. You were the one who ended it. You were the one to push me away."
"I had to," he said. "I'm not... it's not a good idea. Not with what we do."
I tilted my head at him, scoffing. "And somehow all of our conversations were less intimate." I rolled my eyes. "Please."
"Pirja," he said.
I shook my head. "Enough, Anselm. I've had enough. If you change your mind, you know where to find me. But if you don't, then leave me the hell alone."

↻ fluff, mutual pining, zoro is bad with feelings and words and directions, cussing, post time skip zoro, grammatical mistakes + slight frobin
↻ pairing ↬ zoro x gn!reader!
a/n i wanted to write smtg to distract everyone from the- eherm, requests. i havent been able to write them bcs i just got into wano arc🚶‍♀but i also wanted to write a little smtg for valentine's day even tho that was days ago. but enjoy anyway <3
you could see franky, wearing a cute pink outfit with a single rose in his hand. that's right, today is valentine's day.
franky got down to one knee before saying some stuff that you couldn't hear due to your distance. robin was smiling, accepting the rose from him and leaving a soft kiss to his cheek. you could tell that he was overjoyed while sanji was gripping into his hair, saying how franky doesn't deserve his angelic robin.
you heave out a sigh, wishing how that was zoro and you instead. the ship was currently docked at a small island. you had asked almost everyone where zoro's whereabouts might be and they all gave you the same answer. he was out in town for something. no one knew what something it was. or at least, that was what they told you.
you had a suspicion that something was definitely going on. because when you asked sanji, he blurted, "that moss head doesn't deserve you,"
but when you asked what he meant by that, his attitude quickly changed back to his "swooning" mode. you sighed again. maybe you should also take your time and went around the island. especially with how you don't have a partner to spent the day with.
before you could even get off the ship, zoro had already come back from his short exploring. you thought that something was off. but then you saw the paper bag that he was holding with hand. something was off.
"zoro? what did you buy?" you asked, clearly in confusion. zoro could feel his face slowly heating. though trying to save his further embarrassment, he cleared his throat before looking at you straight in the eye. "i bought... something,"
everyone kept on using the word something. but what was that something? you questioned yourself. "anyway, meet me at the crows nest tonight," he said as he walked pass you.
Tumblr media
after dinner, you immediately went up to the crows nest, knowing that you'd get a lot of alone time to think.
before you know it, zoro was already there with you. you were too caught up in your thoughts that you didn't realize he was calling for you. "z-zoro..."
the air was tense, an uncomfortable silence lingering in the air. it seems that both of you are too nervous to talk to each other. alone. but why would he be nervous? that was so out of character of him...
finally, he cleared his throat, breaking the uncomfortable silent. "i uhh... saw this when i was in town. thought that you might like it," the green haired male said nervously. in his hand, it was a beautiful charm bracelet.
though the charms were... so him, you loved it anyway. it leaves you something to remind you of him. you traced you fingers over the reindeer charm and find yourself chuckling. "this looks like chopper," you said, looking up at him with a smile.
"happy valentine's day," he said, rubbing his neck nervously. you could see the blush coloring his tan cheeks. "happy valentine's day,"

tagged by @little-lightning-lavellan for wip wednesday! tagging @bogunicorn and @autobot-scout-riella and @lionhxrts
It wasn't until they were putting the dalish camp behind them that Bethany felt herself start to shake. She clenched her jaw shut tight and tried to force herself to be calm, be peaceful, and be the master of herself as the only partially remembered lessons from her father told her. She knew she had to be missing important parts, but that didn't matter now, did it? What mattered was that she was panicking right here and right now, where everybody could see.
Shame flushed through her veins like ice water, and she clenched her eyes shut tight for a moment or two.
"-thany?"
Bethany opened her eyes.
"Are you all right?" Alistair was standing close to her, having seemingly sent the other two up ahead, though Cookie was circling around him as he tried for what he must've thought was a reassuring smile. "Only, you're shaking the way I get when people expect things from me, so I thought maybe you were overcome by existential terror, too, maybe with a side of self doubt?"
Bethany felt her face twist, and Alistair hastened to pat the air with his hands. "Hey, hey! It's okay! It's okay to be afraid of, well, everything. I am! Can hardly leave the bar these days without needing to take a drink to steady myself, you know? And even before the drinking there was always that pinch on the back of your neck every time anybody looks at you too long or looks like they might be judging you or you think they've realized you're going to mess everything up, or-"
"Alistair," she said in a shaking voice that she tried and failed to force steady.
Alistair nearly slapped himself in his hurry to cover his own mouth. He was quiet for a few moments, but must have been wrestling with himself over what to say because he suddenly blurted out, "I saw you. Trying to uh… Well. Trying, anyway. And you shouldn't just…" He visibly grasped at the air. "Give up on the dalish. On getting any sort of connection to them."
That was hardly any more comforting than it had been before, if not less so. A lot less so. "Why not? What would be the point?" Bethany muttered, walking faster so that Alistair had to quicken his steps to keep up. "Why reach out when your hand is just going to be smacked away? Growing up wishing for that connection to family you never got to have is… You wouldn't understand."
Alistair made a strange noise, and when she glanced in his direction she saw that his smile had gone lopsided. "You're right," he said. "I wouldn't. You had parents to give you the shape of a family you wanted. I didn't have that, just stories of a dead woman I never got to meet, and…" His face darkened, and he blanched when he looked up to see Bethany looking aghast. He waved away her concern. "Forget it. The point wasn't to make it a competition. I just wanted to… I don't know. Make the foundation for something better. You and Carver have each other, but relying on only one person doesn't go very well when that person gets tired or busy or, uh. Dead. Or betrays you dramatically in front of dozens of people, emotionally shattering you for years to come, or…" He coughed. "Gets allergies. Can't see you."
Bethany didn't know what to say to that so she turned back to the path ahead. Up ahead, she thought she caught bits and pieces of Carver talking to Varric as the pair of them rounded a moss covered boulder, and listened in with more than a little relief. "-e how that's any of your business," Carver was saying. "You have a sibling, too. Great. Wonderful. Why don't you go whine at him when you get cranky about exerting yourself for five minutes, next time."
"You don't make it very easy to get to know you, Junior."
"If that nickname is how you plan to start off knowing me, give up. Go home. You fai-"
Alistair spoke again, and she rather guiltily tuned back in as he pointed at where a slim elf was crouched on the path ahead, looking at something in front of her. As they approached, the elf turned around and pushed herself to her feet with a smile. She was bouncing just slightly in place, enough to set the two longer braids on either side of her face to swaying. "Oh!" she said with a high little laugh. "I didn't hear. You must be the one the keeper told me about. Aneth ara."
They all responded in kind, or started to. They'd barely opened their mouths before she cut back in with a swift, "I'm so sorry, I didn't ask your names. Unless… it isn't rude to ask a human their name, is it? I'm Merrill, which you probably knew already. I'm rambling, sorry."
So this was Marethari's apprentice? She reminded Bethany somewhat of Alistair. Stepping forward, Bethany offered out her hand. "No need to apologize," Bethany said with a smile that was only a little forced when Merrill didn't take her hand, and let it drop back to her side. "I'm Bethany Hawke. This is my brother Carver, and beside him is Alistair. And that's Varric, he's-"
"A dwarf!" Merrill said excitedly. "I've never met one of your kind in person. Just in stories, but they were the most delightful things, full of romance and danger and sword fighting!"
"Were they, hah, short stories?" Varric asked, earning himself a groan all around, though Merrill didn't seem to understand, as she just frowned quizzically at Varric.
"I forgot someone important!" Bethany added belatedly, and smiled when Merrill looked back at her. "This is Cookie," she said as the mabari came bounding up the trail and bumping solidly against Bethany's thighs and then Carver's.
"A mabari?" Merrill blinked, then smiled back at her. "Oh, the keeper was right, then, you did come from Ferelden! Everyone knows Fereldans treat their dogs like family, or better, perhaps. I spent most of my life there. We really only came north a few years ago. Have you been in the Free Marches long? Do you like it here?"
Bethany drew in breath for an answer but wasn't quite sure how to phrase it after that barrage of words. Luckily, Carver stepped in. "Bethany and our mother have lived in Kirkwall for a year now. It's a good place to get a fresh start, if that's what you're looking for. We've managed, after all. If Fereldans can live somewhere, anyone can." Bethany almost groaned at the old saying, but didn't want to interrupt.
Merrill's smile faded, but didn't entirely disappear. "Really? I hope you're right." She then shook her head and pointed up the path. "We should go. The task is for Asha'Bellanar. It's not wise to make her wait."
"What do we actually do with this necklace of yours?" Carver asked. His own expression was halfway between confusion and curiosity. "I'll assume it's more than simple jewelry."
"Yes. It's a funeral of sorts. I'll perform it when we get to the mountaintop. Getting there is the tricky part. Our hunters haven't been able to reach the summit. Dark things are about."
"That certainly sounds promising!" Alistair said cheerfully from behind her, followed by a small noise. When Bethany glanced over at the same time as Merrill, Alistair was grinning while Carver was scrubbing his hands over his face.
"Let's get this over with," Carver said from behind his hands.
"Cheer up, Junior. If we all die along the way, it makes for a great story!" Varric said cheerfully from where he was using Cookie as a brace to help propel him up the gradually increasing incline.
"And who will tell it?" Bethany couldn't help asking.
"Not my people," Merrill said very helpfully. "We tend not to want to encourage sightseers who might want revenge against… well. Nature? I suppose? Humans aren't very good at pointing at ephemeral threats and much better at pointing swords. At us! Generally."
"Right. No dying on the mountain. Got it."
"You can always die away from Sundermount, but that would be an awfully sad end to a pretty afternoon."

and heres the thing too right -
this is a silly text post for sillies but hear me out. "intrusive thoughts" implies they're bad and not an expected consequence of the situation and in general don't belong in your head, but they're there, so what now? don't think them or you're bad? name one human who could resist thinking about pink elephants when told not to think about pink elephants!
that's what that framing does - it others some impulses you might not be proud of in an attempt to absolve you of them, instead of letting you have them, not judging you for that, and also encouraging you to make moral judgments about acting on them instead of about having them.
the yetzer hara as a metaphor for like just random thoughts of ego-dystonic behaviour, in contrast, is great because like yea we all have those days. anyone could be put in a situation where they want to rip and bite and kill and sometimes this is an instinct that is telling you valuable things about the situation. sometimes you have to defend yourself or take a risk or rip and bite and kill, and this is a necessary part of how everyone works, not something that could be inflicted on or wrong with you. sometimes the time is right for them.
Let me tell you guys a very old story.
one time some rabbis caught the yetzer hara animal in a big butterfly net and it curled up and went to bed like a bored ferret. while they were debating what to do about it and whether to kill it, people and animals stopped pursuing partners, killing to eat, mating and doing work for gain. nobody said a harsh word or made a selfish decision or initiated anything, and probably even no one combed their hair or bathed, since these two are mainly self-focused tasks with an easily missed benefit to others.
there was no war anymore, which was good. but also there was no more performance art or music or singing, human or otherwise, since those require drive and some amount of genuine creaturely passion (also you have to be able to smell the performers without risk to your health). goats stopped being contrary and donkeys lost the will to bastardry.
eliyahu hanavi probably enjoyed this state of affairs. someone else, whose name we don't say, may have laughed (in a manner of speaking) and called him a square.
and the rabbis themselves couldn't be assed to argue or give definitive opinions on anything. absent the little niggling urge to be right about stuff and know things and perhaps even lawyer better than the next guy, and the related better urge to be a paragon of actual justice and dunk on jerks, the entire halachic system kinda just... ran out of cases and stuttered. probably some young semuchim might have said, 'man, why do we even bother? /gq'
'i dunno man. wanna eat a cucumber and watch moss grow on that lion over there?'
and then they did. great coat of moss, no notes. but the lion was miserable and hungry and probably being eaten by his epiphytes. he could not get his shit together to do something about it even if he wanted to - that, you see, would disrupt the fragile ecosystem he was host to. it might even be murder. lions are surprisingly thoughtful philosophers absent their yetzer hara, and this one was tormented by his past life of banditry and violence.
eventually, maybe, somebody opened the cage to feed the animal and accidentally let the yetzer hara animal out.
maybe it was somebody's wife bringing by an office snack, who thought the court had just forgotten about some poor animal involved in a case, although it was a really weird looking, scrawny, ugly little animal. after all, there was no point and nothing right about being cruel to it, and nobody seemed to care all that much anyway. and arguing is just debate with calvinball rules, and debate has always had a slight ulterior glimmer of gaiva inhering to it... which doesn't bode well for what else went out of the world with the yetzer hara animal's freedom.
the yetzer hara animal shook to warm itself, looked around, and sneezed so hard it blew itself backwards. then it stretched deliciously, tippy tapped around its cage, yawned hugely, stood on its back legs, licked the rebbetzin right on the nose and set out into the big wide world.
immediately, the fog on the world lifted and everyone realized their biology and capacity to want to win at zero sum things wasn't the cause of worldly evil.
they also realized they would have to figure out a sex segregated bathing schedule for literally everyone simultaneously, so that was awkward, but they managed. that rebbetzin conceived twins under circumstances the talmud explicitly endorses (she got her insides rearranged in a configuration that pleased the lord), maybe around then, maybe some other time, and the lion rubbed off the freeloading moss and found some wives. the semuchim found a new hobby not involving lions, and remained fishing buddies until they died, buried by their four morbillion students together under their favourite carob tree. as for the yetzer hara animal?
it's still out in the world, going around committing tempting little peccadilloes, such as tax evasion. in 1992 they wrote it a theme song.
Intrusive thoughts who? You mean the yetzer hara?

I love your blog, so if you don't mind can I request a one shot with monkey d luffy x female reader where the reader has a habit of giving luffy butterfly kisses. I'm dying for lots of fluff. Thank you!

Butterfly kisses
Summary- ^^ requested
Character(s)- Monkey D. Luffy
Warnings- none :)
Word count- 1.9k
Notes- butterfly kisses are literally the cutest thing in the whole world 🥺💕 I got a big carried away, this was honestly so cute to write, I hope you enjoy. Also happy Valentine’s Day
━━☆⌒*.
Butterfly kissed- soft kisses made from fluttering one's lashes against their lover's skin. An innocent act yet one filled with so much passion. The perfect kissed for (Y/n) and her captain, Luffy, to share. A soft and airy kiss making their relationship all the better. Ever since their relationship had started a while ago, (Y/n) continued to pamper Luffy with those kisses to this day. At first, the kisses were occasional, only happening when they split up to explore an island or after Luffy got into a fight. However, throughout their relationship, the kisses began to grow more frequent. Every night before they go to bed when they wake up, and whenever the 2 leave each other sides.
Although Luffy doesn’t think too much of the gentle kisses, they mean so much to (Y/n). Those simple kisses represent so much between the 2. The kisses show that the 2 of them have a very unique way of showing their love. And even though those kisses mean so much to her, and probably mean the same to Luffy, she couldn’t help that little voice that echoed in the back of her head.
What if Luffy’s getting tired of the kisses?
It was a pointless thing to worry about. It really was but that didn’t stop (Y/n). She continued to think about it, letting it consume her thoughts.
Letting out a small groan, (Y/n) learned over the railing and watched the dolphins swimming in the wake of Sunny. She didn’t mean to get the attention of the others seeing how her worrying is pointless, however, her groan seemed to grab the attention of the crew's archeologist. At least she was lucky to catch her attention and not someone else's, Robin seems like she would know a bit about the topic.
"Are you alright, (Y/n)? You seem a bit upset." Robin questioned taking a spot next to her side. Even if it was going to be easy to tell Robin, (Y/n) thought about it for a moment. With (Y/n) already knowing the answer, she decided to tell Robin anyways, just so she can have someone tell her that she was just overthinking things.
"I...I'm not sure Luffy likes my kisses anymore. I'm probably overthinking things, but it seems like he's bored of them." (Y/n) signed, leaning up from the rail and looking over at her older friend.
"What makes you say that?" Robin wondered.
"Because that's the only kiss I give him, and he never kisses back. So you can't blame me for thinking that." (Y/n) explained, unknowingly grabbing the attention of the crew's moss head too, "But I thought he always preferred those kisses."
"Jeez, you are overthinking it." Zoro blurted out joining (Y/n) at her other side. Jumping a bit, and earning a small giggle from Robin, (Y/n) looked over at him.
"Zoro?"
"Luffy's the easiest guy to even date. Always speaking his mind, doing what he wants when he wants it." Zoro pointed out, and (Y/n) knew every single one of those to be true. Luffy always tells (Y/n) what he likes and what he doesn't without a 2nd thought.
"Zoro is right. Overthinking things with Luffy is pointless. If he doesn't like them he would've told you. Luffy's simple-minded like that." Robin agreed. (Y/n) knew she was also right, she knows she could go right up to Luffy and ask whether or not he likes the kisses but she doesn't want to do that. She doesn't want it to be that simple.
"Ugh, I know but I don't want it to be that simple. Sometimes I want something to happen." (Y/n) exclaimed throwing her hands into the air, "Everything is so easy with him, which I don't mind but sometimes because things are so easy with him I can't help but overthink things. Like I'm doing something wrong or something."
Now Zoro and Robin could understand that too. Because Luffy is so easy he's just as complex. A curse disguised as a blessing.
"The 2 of you are on night watch tonight, right?" Zoro asked.
"Yeah, I think so."
"Then ask him then. It'll just be the 2 of you so you can have his full attention." Zoro has suggested before watching off again, probably to find someplace to sleep. As he walked away, his suggestion began to sink in. It was a pretty good idea, It just might help later tonight.
ミ☆
Later that night, while everyone else was sleeping or getting ready for bed, (Y/n) and Luffy both stood guard on the deck of Sunny watching out for any threats. Seeing how nothing ever happens, the 2 of them ended up goofing off, like any other night. They both told each other stories, jokes, and played games. It what the 2 of them would also do when it was their night to stand guard.
"No way. Rayleigh really made you fight those types of monsters?" (Y/n) laughed, listening to Luffy's crazy stories about training over the past 2 years. To (Y/n) the stories sounded so extreme but she knows well enough that it was true. Luffy is inhuman like that.
"Shishishi, yup. At one point I couldn't even eat until I dodged their attacks. It was hard." Luffy whined remembering that time. It was hard but it needed to be done. He needed to get strong for his crew's sake. For (Y/n)‘s sake. It would be a lie to say that Luffy didn't think or worry about (Y/n) during his training. That was one of the things that he missed the most, her warmth and her smile. And not the mention the amazing kisses she gave. He definitely missed those the most. Feeling (Y/n)'s soft lashes brush against his skin in a repeating fashion. When the 2 of them had reunited it was something that (Y/n) didn't hold back either, kissing him every chance they got to make up for all the time apart. However, recently (Y/n) hasn't been giving out the kisses anymore. The thing about Luffy is that he's dense, not clueless so he knows something was wrong with (Y/n) for a while now. As if he also overheard was Zoro said earlier, Luffy decided to bring it up.
"Sheesh. Only you could go through such intense training." (Y/n) giggled as she looked into Luffy's dark brown eyes. Now was going to be the perfect time to bring up the kisses. And she was, wanting to clear up the confusion as quickly as possible. But just as she gathered her thoughts and opened her mouth to say something there was a crash at the back of the ship. The crash echoed for a moment before it when silent again. Both (Y/n) and Luffy turned around to face the sound, waiting to see if anything else was going to happen. When it stayed silent and nothing else happened, (Y/n) was the first one the get up.
"Guess I'll go check out that sound," (Y/n) stated as she began to walk off. Luffy watched with a close eye as she walked. It didn't take Luffy long to realize something was missing. (Y/n) doesn't just walk off like that. She always kisses him before leaving. Before she could get far, Luffy stretched out his arms and wrapped them around her waist, yanking her back and into his lap. A soft yelp let her lips as she soon came into contact with Luffy's chest.
"Huh? Luffy what's wrong-" (Y/n) gasped as she felt his grip about her tighten. With his strong arms pushing her back, (Y/n) was almost able to feel every inch of Luffy's chest against her back. Something like this rarely happened. Luffy was never big on physical contact hence why they stuck to butterfly kisses.
"I'm not letting you go." Luffy cut (Y/n) off, resting his chin on her shoulder. With a blush covering her cheeks, she glanced over at him to try and reasons with him but when she looked she only got Luffy's intense stare back. Now (Y/n) knows he's being serious.
"W-what?" (Y/n) stared down at the grass on the main deck to embarrassed to meet his gaze. She began to play with her fingers as she waited for Luffy to say something. And the waiting was not helping at all, it only made her impatient. Luffy normally doesn't wait like his, he would just speak his mind. While she waited, (Y/n) could still feel his gaze on her at they sat in silence. Finally, with a squeeze from Luffy's arm, she spoke up.
"Because you haven't given me a kiss." Luffy blurted out.
"Huh?" His comment clearly caught (Y/n) off guard. She was not expecting those words to come from his lips. Luffy hummed into her shoulder and nodded.
"You haven't given me a kiss all day..." Luffy trailed off as his face sunk deeper into (Y/n) shoulder. In all honesty, (Y/n) didn't how to react. Luffy rarely acted like this, it came as a total shock. This side of him is completely new but it was cute. Clingy but cute. Glancing back down, this time she noticed that blush that covered the top of his ears. Seems like this side is new for Luffy too.
Staring down at Luffy a bit longer, a small smile crept onto (Y/n)'s lips as a burst of laughter erupted from her throat, "I didn't know you liked them so much."
"Of course I do!! Your kisses are super soft!!" Luffy exclaimed looking up from (Y/n) shoulder. Laughing once more, (Y/n) shimmed her way out of his grasp and turned aground, and faced her blushing captain. Locking eyes with him, (Y/n) placed a hand on her cheek and began to caress them with her thumb.
"Well that's good to know. I was afraid you didn't like them anymore." (Y/n) confessed.
"Why wouldn't I?" Luffy sounded offended at (Y/n)'s comment. Looks like he loved the kisses as much as (Y/n) loves giving them, "(Y/n) kisses are the best. As good as meat."
"...Luffy don't compare me to meat." (Y/n) let out a small scoff at his comparison. As weird as it sounded, it meant a lot to her. In Luffy's eyes, nothing beats meat.
"What? Meats amazing."
"I know, but that's not really the best thing to say to a girl." (Y/n) scoffed leaning into his flustered cheek, and began to flutter her eyelashes. He probably didn't mean to, but a small hummed left his lips in response. With that reps once in mind, (Y/n) went to his other cheek and give him another kiss, then his nose, then his forehead.
"Shishi, You're kissing me a lot."
"Of course. It only fair because I didn't kiss you at all today." (Y/n) smiled, placing one more kissing on his cheek. With all the kisses done, she leaned back and stared into Luffy's smile. It was relieving to know that Luffy enjoyed the kisses too. Now (y/n) won't have to overthink the kisses again. With his hands still around her waist, he hugged her again and sunk his face into the neck, as if to say thank you. And of course, (Y/n) hugged back. Luffy also knows that her hugs are just amazing as she kissed, so warm and full of love. It would be easy for them to of them to get stay like this forever but (Y/n) still has to go check out that sound.
Shifting around a bit in his grasp, (Y/n) spoke up, "hey, Luffy I still need to go check out that sou-"
"No, I want you to stay here." Luffy lurked out again, squeezing (Y/n) tightly again. She stared down at him again. His childish and clingy behavior is kicking in, there's no leaving him now.
With a quiet giggle, (Y/n) nodded and hugged him again. She'll just have to check out the sound later. Right now there doesn't seem to be any reasons or way to leave the comfort of Luffy's hug.

Call of Spirits
Megumi Fushiguro x Reader
Spirited Away Au
Chapter One:
Moving away from what you have known for most of your life is challenging for anyone. In your case it was moving away from the home you once lived, laughed, and cherished. Traveling away to live in a place far away from the house you once knew into a completely new one.
Thoughts of the unknown clouded your head as you travelled through the countryside, brushing by trees as your father drove over the land. You mother was in the front seat of your family van with a old map because of the lack of service in the land. It wasn't like it was bad, but it was just different from your home, it wasn't home, and frankly you just want to go home.
"(Y/n) dear you're going have to lighten up, the new town we're moving too it going to be full of new opportunities, and adventures!" That came from the voice of your mother, the same voice that was adamant on moving in the first place because she wanted a change of scenery.
"She's right champ, you can only enjoy something new if you're willing to give it a shot!" That was the voice of your father, deeper than your mothers, he was nice, but he loved to cut corners and take short cuts while he could.
Your parents were always overly happy and cheery like this, well most of the time, and while you found it a little bit annoying in this situation you ultimately knew that they were right, but even then moving on is way easier said than done.
The outskirts of the town outside of Tokyo was undeniable beautiful, green grass, blue skies, but due to your emotions it all seemed grey and brown in your mind, bland, not your home, but just a place you were traveling too.
"Oh, darn. We must have missed the turn off, well that's what four wheel drive if for."
"Dad what are you doing?"
"Hang on guy's it's going to be a little bit of a bumpy ride."
"Can you just tell me?!"
"(Y/N) you're going to need to sit down."
Just as your mother told you to sit back in your seat the car roared and rushed forward off the paved road and onto the forrest path ahead of you.
Something about this forrest felt familiar yet off to you, it felt eerie even though it was in the middle of the day. Cold even though it was sunny and warm out, but magnetic like the traveling tolkens you hang on your fridge.
The tunnel that your father was driving into hundreds of feet before you, the one lined with broken stone statue, and slight green moss was something that you probably should have just left alone, something that didn't seem like it belonged in this forest. Your gut telling you that is was out of worldly even though your parents didn't feel it like you did.
But as your father drove through the gate, even though it can be seen it feels unknown. Well, now you're going to have to find out of your stomach was right, and not just the product of being hungry.
"Woah, what's this old building?"
"It looks like an entrance."
That car haunted in front of an old shrine like archway, but you didn't really care what is was made of when you heard your parents debating if the stones were old or made of plaster, It just gave you the creeps.
"I think we should check it out you guy's it seems really cool, like and old amusement park or something." You father pitched to you and your mother.
"I think that would be fun hun.....(Y/N) why aren't you moving darling?"
"I'm not going!" You proclaimed. "It gives me the creeps."
"Don't be such a scaredy cat (Y/N)!"
"It's fine, the movers will just get to the house before we do. They have the key's anyway."
"All right just a quick look.'" You mother chimes, but you have other plans.
"I'm not going!"
"Fine, then just wait in the car."
When your two parents start to walk off you have the sudden realization that you don't want to be alone in this place so you scramble yourself out of the car as fast as you can, and run off after your parents.
"Wait for me!" You say while dashing after your parents.
"Watch your step everyone, it's slippery you might trip." You father warns as you near some mossy rocks.
"What is this place?" Your mother questions as all of you arrive a town like screen, buildings lining the streets however there was a complete lack of people. Cobblestone lined the ground and marked the paths for walking that compliments the older styled Japanese shinto architecture.
"Oh do you hear that noise, I think its a train."
"Oh I knew it is an old amusement park, didn't I tell you dear?"
"Yes you did, this place is cool we should continue exploring it."
"Hmmmm, do you smell that dear?"
"I do it smells delicious, we should check out where it's coming from!"
While your parents followed there nosed towards the scent you started to look around at the old building, and wander through the streets. You feet patted against the cobblestones while you wanders carefully though the mysterious haven. Noticing that it was later in the afternoon you walked to find your parents to give them the news.
When you found them they were sitting at a bar, and shoving there faces with food so much that it seemed obsessive.
"(Y/N) you need hmmph to grunidhchomp try this food is so gooodd." You mother and father said in unison as they shoved there faces with yakisoba, chicken, and many other treats. However you weren't hungry, and actually felt weary so you decided to adventure more through the supposed theme park.
The longer you wandered the day went by, and soon the sun was setting. You were currently walking on a wooden arch bridge, painted red, and then when you looked at the water underneath you noticed that they sun was starting to set.
Using your head you make the decision to find you parents again, and turn back to find them since it was starting to get late. But when you turned around you where met with the race of a creature that looked like a ghost and raddish combined into one. You help in surprised as you feel it brush by your form, and you started to panic as you saw more ghosts starting to appear when the day's light started to wane. All of the dormant street lights started to burst with colored light when they light of the day finally disappeared into the night, blasting attention onto the fully formed spirits travelling over the bridge you were standing on.
In a hurry you sprint past corners and fake street blocks to find you parents, bumping into more phantoms along the way scaring you even more than you would have thought.
Finally you arrived at the food bar that you're parents where at before, but when you arrived the sight you saw made you gasp and want to scream. You parents had turned into big fat pigs!
Wanted to move, run, scream, and shout you couldn't because your body was frozen in it's place like the stones under your feet had turned into quicksand trapping you where you stand.
One of the spirits around the corner, a dog spirit looking thing, raised it's nose and sniffed a big waft. In it's deep grumbly voice it gurgled the phrase out that made you know that you didn't belong here:
"I SMELL HUMAN!"
You know that the beast saw you, but you couldn't move. The weredog started to bound towards you, but you were swiftly pulled away by an unknown figure only saying a hurried "we have to go" in his boyish voice before dragging you over the red bridge into the unknown of the bath house with even giving you time to say a word. The spikey haired male dragging you behind him as he tried to get you away from the crowd of spirits and into safety without you knowing where you were even going.
