the only censorship we need is the block, mute and filter option because giving others the power to dictate what can and cannot exist in fandom will eventually lead to banning all nsfw works or even slightly but nuanced ‘problematic’ topics. ​I block and move on because I don’t want to see certain things but to erase them completely is a dangerous slope to having things you like be banned eventually.

The final boss of “learning social skills” is seeing someone online say something about a special interest of yours that’d be the literal perfect opportunity for you to talk about it but deciding not to do it because the person made the comment so long ago it’d be kind of weird to reply now. If you can restrain yourself, you’ll be awarded the “King of Acting Normal” prize on national television by the president. Or so I’m told.

I think saying things like “you could be a girl if you weren’t a coward” is kind of fucked up if I'm to be honest.

And acting like that is some kind of profound hard truth for some trans women is even fucking more mean coming from another trans woman.

I cannot even begin to tell you the horrors my family put me through when they thought I was a straight cis boy, it was horrifying. What's more I knew my family hated queer people of all kinds so any hint of that was met with more violence, more hatred, and viciousness that I don't really want to go into.

So if you are going around telling other trans women how "it's so easy to" or "you're a coward if" or any of that rhetoric... you're just an asshole.

It is NOT just that easy. Hell it can be hard even WITH a supportive family for some folks.

I know a lot of people say “you could be a girl if you weren’t a coward” "FOR THE MEMES" but it's fucked up and discouraging to be told you're a coward for something that, ESPECIALLY NOW, is a very scary thing to do or be publicly (or even privately tbh).

The least we can do is be nice to each other and not belittle each other with petty mean spirited highschool bullshit like that.
