Well, just found out that instead of getting the refund of $242 that I was promised, actually I owe $272 because they fucked up

This hair I think provides a fairly good example of the way the SAME hair colors can look very different with different retextures. The bottom hair is the original by Newsea, which in this case I ended up keeping.

The top left hair is a very shiny retexture, and in the context of these photos, it seems to make the purple color pop a bit more, but... on darker hairs, those spots are so shiny they no longer look the color they're supposed to look. The one on the top right shows none of the purple at all, while still having tons of shine. These were the only retextures of this hair (YU089 Immortal by Newsea) I was able to find (one by Sunpi, and the other by A Love Like Sims), so I ended up reverting to the original Newsea texture for now.

I found references online to an old Sjoko/Bombsy retexture of this hair which would probably be more matte and to my liking, but it wasn't one of the ones in the archived folders, and I wasn't able to find a viable link for it.

Finally, finally we get a happy chapter, a breathe of fresh air. I love how we get Mikey’s apology so he’s not that much of a dick, Mikey probs avoided Sanzu out of fear and embarrassment and shame in what he had done also the fact that he doesn’t like being weak and Sanzu will def be his weakness.

We also get to see the effect of dark impulse, I personally agree with the thought of first timeline Mikey being the reason for dark impulses, just like how there’s a gap in Takemichi’s memory from the period he traveled in the future the same probably happens to the present. But Shinichiro fixed his problem in one time jump unlike our hero (though he only had one problem and he didn’t have to figure out how to fix it) and Yk he’s happy!

We’ve been shitting on Sanzu for so long, but ig he’s getting his redemption also, he’s just always there and supporting Mikey, poor him. Plus he’s Shinichiro’s trigger probably because he saw him die and they both really care for Mikey.

Bingo Hall Chair (livingroom chair) seat is repo'd to Ektorp sofa. I also included a base game-friendly edit that pulls recolors from Satinistic Loveseat - these are two versions of the same chair and cannot be used together. neuvillette doesn’t see the thrill of hiding your relationship at first. but he respects and agrees with your decision to keep things private and lowkey. from a few stolen glances whenever you watch lyney and lynette’s magic shows to slightly brushing against each other’s hands, i guess you could say neuvilette could slowly see why you’d prefer things this way.

lyney definitely sees the thrill of this, always finding a chance to tease you in public whenever he can. he pouts at you sometimes when you refuse to at least hold his hand, but then again, he agreed to this setup himself. although it bums him out sometimes that he can’t be physically affectionate with you out in public, he knows he can have you all to himself once you’re both behind closed doors.

wriothesley doesn’t get it. was this really necessary? what if someone makes a move on you when he’s right there? he can’t do anything about that because you’re supposed to keep things low! however, as time passes, he begins to understand why you’d prefer this type of thing instead—and slowly, he begins to appreciate it as well.

alhaitham complies. but when it’s needed, he will make a move. personally, he prefers this setup more since he finds it annoying when people pry into his personal relationships. he’s fine with stealing glances from you and writing little notes to communicate with one another. he’s fine with just having a simple meal with you instead of eating something fancy outside (the comfort of eating with you at home could never beat such a thing on any day). alhaitham loves it.

Sirius had been standing for five minutes outside his own dorm trying to figure out if opening the door would be something he would regret for the rest of his life. He could hear James and Regulus talking, he could even understand what they were saying.

“James, I want more,” his brother insisted with a pouting voice.

“Regulus, you’re getting greedy,” James said and Sirius could hear his best friend smirking. 

“I will let you know when it’s enough, Jamie.” 

“Last time you couldn’t even move after you finished.” Sirius felt sick.

“I don’t care about that. I want more now.”

Sirius couldn’t take it anymore and opened the door at once.

“Stop!” Sirius demanded loudly with one hand covering his eyes. 

“Pads, what are you doing?” James said, laughing at him. 

Slowly, Sirius opened his eyes and saw through his finger. 

“Oh.”

Regulus and James were sitting on the floor over a blanket, each with a plate full of pasta in front of them. James was holding a cheese grater over Regulus’ dish. 

“Everything okay, brother?” 

“I thought- What were you guys talking about?” Sirius asked, still trying to ground himself. 

“My boyfriend over here conveniently forgets he’s lactose intolerant when it comes to parmesan cheese.”

“Oh! That’s why he couldn’t move after he finished…” Sirius muttered to himself. However, not quietly enough to keep Regulus from hearing him and burst out in laughter.

Some fact checks about plurality

The "Bible of psychiatry" is the DSM. In 1994, the DSM changed the name of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) to Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). This was in response to a moral panic where critics claimed that the condition was fake.

The original and current diagnostic criteria do not require trauma for DID (or MPD) (DSM-III, p. 259; DSM-III-R, p. 272; DSM-5-TR, p. 331).

The international counterpart of the DSM is the ICD-11. Its essential features for DID do not require trauma, either.

Both books say that not all cases of multiple personalities are a disorder or a severe impairment. Psychiatry recognizes that medicalizing them is not always appropriate.

Plurality (or multiplicity) is a community umbrella term for many ways of being more than one person in a body. Psychiatrists who know enough about DID are aware of it. Plurality includes but is not the same as DID.

The community has always included plurals who formed for reasons other than trauma. Dividing the community by excluding non-traumagenic plurals and calling them fake is new. That only started in August 2014 on Tumblr, unheard of elsewhere.

When that started, a trauma-caused DID system created the word "endogenic." This means plurals who formed naturally rather than from trauma. The Lunastus Collective coined it in solidarity with them.

(Similarly, the coiner of another umbrella term, "alterhuman," is a member of a traumagenic OSDD system who supports endogenic plurals. The purpose of that word is for plural systems to unite with other sorts who differ from usual definitions of human individual, valuing what we do and do not have in common, instead of in-fighting about who is more legitimate.)

Community historian LB Lee gives several good reasons why-- as trauma-surviving plurals-- they choose not to call themselves "traumagenic" or divide the community by origins. If I may briefly paraphrase a couple of these: If you see suffering as your whole foundation of who you are, then you have a more difficult time envisioning a better situation. If you want others to respect you, a losing strategy is to put down people who are seen as similar to you.

Neither psychiatry nor the greater community of plurals see trauma history as an important distinction in determining whether someone is plural.

This is the moment Alex has put a start date on this thing between them.

It's a little more certain here than it is in the book:

"How long has this been happening?" "Since, um, New Year's." (page 233)

The placement of that "um" holds meaning for me - in the book Alex is hesitating before he pins a start date on him and Henry. He's trying to figure it out and that's what he goes for. Because how long has it been going on? Since they started sharing intimate thoughts and fears? Since they increased the benefits they had added to their friendship? Since the Red Room?

Nope. Alex goes for the moment when the possibility between them changed and he completely ignores the weeks of silence that happened straight after. The period of time in which Henry was full of fear over what he'd done, what Alex might do. In the book we know he runs scared, going on a public date and being photographed.

We don't have anything like that in the movie but we do have the silence. We see Henry's fear when he comes into the Red Room. Not just because of the line he crossed with Alex but because he has exposed himself and his most closely guarded secret, a glimpse of his true self.

He will know that Alex isn't going to out him - they've spent long enough talking and getting to know each other for that to not be Henry's fear. And if he was then it would have happened long before the State Dinner. Henry's fear is about losing Alex, losing the friendship, losing that connection with the boy he's wanted since the Olympics/Climate Conference.

I'd put money on Henry promising himself, once upon a time, that he would never do anything to risk losing what small pieces of Alex he could have in his life. And when they start up this thing he goes in thinking that this is all he can have, all he will get.

"I thought I could have some part of you, and just never say [I love you], and you'd never have to know, and one day you'd get tired of me and leave, because I'm--" (Page 272)

Henry didn't think he would have all of Alex, at least not anything of import, that Alex wouldn't be as far in as Henry is. And yet here he is in this hotel room, declaring they have been this thing since that kiss. Since before they properly made out in the Red Room, went down on each other in Alex's bedroom, talked about "keeping things casual" before embarking on the most insanely devoted shag fest known to mankind.

Alex has been in since New Year's and he tells Zahra just that.

In the movie he is more decisive. (Just like the instant "No" when Zahra asks if it would make a difference if she asked them to stop.)

Since New Year's. Since the moment Henry kissed me and I became unable to think about anything else except doing it again. And doing other stuff.

And even though Henry ghosted him right after, even though the next thing Henry said to Alex after his apology and disappearance into the night was another apology for his behaviour, Alex has labelled that moment, that kiss, as their start.

The moment when Henry was brave.

And in the movie we get to see Henry's reaction to that. They've been discovered, things are about to blow up in a way they can't control, and Alex says that as far as he's concerned this thing between them has been going on all year.

Before the emails. Before Paris. Before the State Dinner. Alex has been Henry's since New Year's and this is the moment he finds that out.
