@bumlets-appreciation-blog said that Sarah and Bumlets would be both great Anastasia and Dimitri but also be the most Chaotic Anastasia and Dimitri therefore I asked if I could draw this and IT IS HERE :D

Admittedly this took me SO LONG but I am happy with it

Even if drawing 100+ little circles and then putting four different little airbrushed parts in killed me a bit

(Also i only just saw that it is only Dimitri in the movie and in the musical it is Dmitry and I spelled neither right in the Sarah drawing but I do not have energy to change it)

modern newsies hcs!!

- albert has pots and faints a LOT because he does nothing to manage it. has lots of bruises/cuts from this.

- davey wears a magen david around his neck. his mom gave it to him on his bar mitzvah day.

- race is a classically trained ballerina.

- kid blink is just constantly getting into fights at school (he wins)

- jack's mom died when he was a kid and after she died, his dad was abusive. jack was emancipated at 15.

- finch has autism. he's hyperfixated on birds and will randomly blurt fun facts.

- crutchie uses forearm crutches.

- spot has a bad knee injury from when he was a little kid and fell down the stairs. often wears a knee brace/knee tape. he doesn't explain it. theories are spread.

- splint is a bit of a ho (very affectionate) and the others don't understand how she gets so many men + women.

- katherine is on the girls' ice hockey team in high school. not only is she jacked but she is also violent when she's challenged.

- sarah is older than davey and jack by three years but only two years older than kath.

- race is abnormally strong, wins every arm wrestle ever. can pick spot up and toss him around like a pizza.

In a modern day setting, Jack’s vehicle would be a beat-up old truck—one of those three-seater ones that makes all kinds of strange noises and really shouldn’t be driven anymore, but it’s all Jack can afford. Despite its flaws, he’s always happy to pile into it and take the Jacobs siblings on drives whenever he can, cramming all four of them into a truck that barely fits three. They’d drive around, enjoying the ride even if it means squeezing into tight spaces and laughing all the way.

The Jacobs siblings would quietly save up their money to surprise him with a new, reliable truck. One that could comfortably fit all four of them and more importantly, actually run without any scary noises. When they finally hand it over to Jack, he’d be stunned. No one’s ever done something so thoughtful for him before, but it still feels nice knowing for the first time that people truly cared about him in such a meaningful way.

Jack Kelly - The Abominable Snowman

Jack is trying to get past the last party he threw. He debated whether or not to even throw this party, because of how the last has ended. But he does, to try to prove he’s fine. He dresses up as the Abominable Snowman, wearing all white, a furry white coat with matching boots and white antlers with icicles hanging from them. He uses makeup to make his skin look frost bitten. He decorated his apartment as a sort of snowy cave and all the cocktails are frosty and blue and full of a lot of alcohol. He ends up actually having fun and David and him end up pulling an all nighter in his bed, doing everything but sleeping.

David Jacobs - A Christmas Angel

David fears Jack is angry with him and asks Race for help in a costume because he wants to have a serious talk with Jack tonight about having a long term, serious relationship. Race makes him into a Christmas Angel, letting David wear a lot of his own jewelry, all white, with large wings and feathers glued to him. David pulls Jack aside at the party to talk to him, starting to apologize and they just end up making out in the kitchen for most of the night. David invites Jack to Hanukkah with his family. Sarah approves.

Racetrack Higgins - A Slutty Christmas Present

Race is the first person to show up at his brother’s apartment in almost no clothing, much to Jack’s horror. Race is dressed as a Christmas gift for Spot, using mostly Christmas ribbon to conceal himself. He’s only wearing a tight pair of boxers. He’s crafted a crown of gift wrapping bows and uses wrapping paper and ribbon to wrap around his nipples and thighs, as well as his hips and over his boxers to make it look like he’s truly wearing nothing. Jack and him get into a heated argument over Race’s costume choice and Jack tries to force him to wear one of his own old costumes. Race refuses and Spot gives Race his jacket to try to cover him up. Jack is not happy about it.

True to the last few years, Spot is good old John. It is the only costume he ever wears to this party and he’s not about to change that now. He ends up asking Jack if he can ask Race to marry him.

Crutchie is the newest Christmas sensation, Tally. He is a bit anxious to be around everyone because of the tension going on, but is ultimately able to have a good time and is everyone’s favorite bartender this year.

Katherine goes with Sarah as the Wet Bandits. She is Harry. She and Jack talk and make up and Katherine tells Jack that he needs to accept that he loves David and get over his fear of commitment fast.

It had been an accident, she would swear it was, but it was mostly David's fault for leaving it on his desk, anyway, how many high schoolers still did their essays on paper rather than on their computers?

It was his latest assignment, she'd seen it while putting away some of his laundry she had picked up from the cleaners, but the large fancy script of a title had grabbed her attention, how couldn't it? He always tried to make his assignments attention grabbers and memorable, he had to, given the fact he didn’t have any friends at school, so his grades had to make up for it.

Trans Davey who panics the first time Jack comes to his house, because Jack just picked up a photograph of Davey as a kid, and is asking who this little girl is, so Davey blurts out:

"That's my s-sister!" (He hates to lie, but he's only known Jack a couple of weeks, and he's terrified)

"You've never mentioned a sister before."

"You never asked."

"What's her name? Why haven't I met her?"

"Her name is um--" He won't say his own deadname, so instead his favorite cousin's name comes to mind. "Sarah. Her name is Sarah. She's away at college."

Jack just nods. "I'll just have to meet her when she comes home for a visit. She looks so much like you. You sure ya ain't twins?"

Davey just laughs nervously and changes the subject before Jack can ask more questions he won't have answers for.
