bugenhagenkirche // barmbek süd
the mighty structure of the church made of clinker brick with its cubic shape, which ends in the enormous tower, dominates the street front. the only sculptural decoration are the larger-than-life ceramic figures of hamburg's reformers. in front of the building, one simply feels tiny and humble. i can imagine that this was also the intention of the builders, to show how small man is before god.

Desain Interior Mezbah
Tumblr media
1. Menentukan Tema dan Konsep Desain Mezbah
a. Kayu
a. Cahaya Alami
a. Posisi Mezbah

architect: josef lehmbrock
completion: 1966
a small gem of cologne's post-war modernist church architecture can be found in heimersdorf. it has a cruciform floor plan and is clad in panels in various shades of anthracite. the monumental rose window is the building's outstanding feature. unfortunately, the building was under construction when i visited, so i wasn't able to see the interior. it's a shame, because it's a little brutalist gem. at least you can always visit it digitally at: https://kurzlinks.de/ptkc
