little weird joining the bakudeku subreddit and then it just being completely vacant of any activity going on and then I look and see IzuOcha sub with more activity (not meant to be taken as a negative tbc, glad they're having fun over there it just sucks lmao) like what the fuck happened???? Did everybody over there fucking die or something?????💀💀😭😭😭😭
#bkdk#bakudeku#seriously tho it's really fucking weird that every bkdk or dkbk zine event has to be announced here#but can't be announced in the sub because there's just no one there#you would think a forum a good place to share fic recs#ship playlists and doujins but no#but no#hell even theories??? metas????#nothing#im guessing brigading from antis maybe played a role but there's just zero activity over there#it feels really weird now being subbed#like i would love to make posts but if there's no activity then what's the point???#it just really sucks to be separated by servers on discord#instead of having one area to congregate to together to gush about bkdk as a whole#because I see a lot of people who pop in these tags about how they want to talk about bkdk with someone#or sharing how excited they were to find a discord server to hop onto for bkdk content#and it's like damn bro we already have that#been had it#but don't nobody fucking use it#and I get that moderation is a thing and without mods the subreddit is just fucked but still...#just ya know...there's a bkdk forum y'all

fuck it. free the blocklist.
tw for ableism, death threats, cw for general rage-inducing behavior
this is not exhaustive, this is a starting point. BLOCK these people, do not interact.
- literally anyone who interacts with @/ladygoth at this point. I don’t doubt that she and her friends are responsible for at least half of the hate anons received by darkfic writers
- as for the people who were “protecting” codslut/Myka… they’ve all been in my notifs liking my update post and un-liking sheheals post and deleting anything they might’ve said on the situation. yay, I guess. I may have unblocked you, but the other nosy people following everything certainly didn’t.
- on a related note, anyone who goes by “Myka” or “Hannah” gets blocked ON SIGHT (half-joking). I don’t care if that’s your name (please don’t put your real name on the internet) you better make up a new one 😤
- /bookobsessedram, /mothymunson, @starry-eyedblog , /ghostsbimbo, @ghostlywhiskey and @ghostly-whiskey, /angelofacidx, and @ladyxtiger were all involved in being assholes in the discord as seen here. not pictured: /bjornthebearguy and someone going by “spiders” in the server (not to be confused with /notspiders, my bad). and i’m sorely disappointed in /bunnyreaper, as mod, for letting them continue to chase people off, even though it had been brought to their attention before.
AND ESPECIALLY @simonrillleyyysss and @simonrillleyyyysss2 and @joostyklein (all their known alts). As a matter of fact, fuck everyone who’s friends with them (including /konigsblog). Jordi, G***, whatever the fuck you’re going by, I am so fucking sick of seeing your name in my DMs. So many people messaged me to say it was you and your gang’s hateful behavior that drove them away from the fandom, and I can vouch for some of them because I was there the whole time. What the fuck is wrong with you guys. I have a hard time believing your apology means ANYTHING when you used the discord to lead a brigade on Bo back in January, and CLEARLY HAVEN’T STOPPED being an asshole since then (“I still don’t like soapskneebrace either way”). Bo and Madi were not your only victims, again, there were quite a few others who came forward. You bullied anyone who disagreed with you and at the end of the day you only care about your follower count.
The craziest part is that most of the people we watched you bully are open about their autism diagnosis. And this was just a casual observation I made, not even an accusation, but five minutes later you make your first-ever very casual not-at-all-sus claim of having autism.
do you think we were born fucking yesterday. Trying to get ahead of ableism accusations by suddenly claiming to be autistic, even if true, is not gonna have the effect you thought it would, cause I wasn’t the only person who clocked that as WEIRD. (Internalized ableism is still ableism, btw.)
Just shut the fuck up. For once. It’s THAT SIMPLE. Leave everyone alone. Make your little posts without feeling the need to be assholes to other people.
Fun fact: I have received no death or rape threats in my anon mail, and maybe that’s because I’m not a very big blog. Or maybe it’s cause I know what all your fucking faces look like (hello, internet safety where?). I said fuck all y’all yesterday and I stand by that. Hopefully your time here is met with the same amount of love you’ve shown your peers.

Batstarion
Just updated so the model is an albino bat.
Fuck yeah!
And I can't believe I have to say this, but:
Don't be a fucking weirdo in the mod comments. If you don't appreciate the batstarion meme, that's fine. Don't download the mod. Move on with your life.
But don't make it some weird hate brigade thing or self righteous defense of Ascension or whatever other stupid shit people are picking fights about. You look like fucking clowns.
It's a dumb meme mod. Enjoy the dumb meme.

Okay everyone who wants to join the lonely DCA fans brigade, let’s be friends!
We can make a group chat for lonely/socially awkward fans if anyone wants to help out or be a mod (my time zone is the worst so I would probably need help) or if that’s what people wanna do
We can do group pictures on here? (? I’m thinking let’s do outfit swaps with the DCA or the DCA in other outfits, then we can either reblog our additions in a chain or we can give them a tag - plus let’s do more DCA sleepovers again with our AU versions (doesn’t matter if they look different or the same as the originals, all of our styles will make them look awesomely different anyway))
However I don’t wanna make it a space where anyone is treated differently, whether they’re a more known person in the fandom or not at all known, it makes it harder to make friends that way so I’d prefer just to be more low key and all hang out!
If anyone could reblog or comment with any suggestions or if they wanna take part I’m all up for it or if anyone else wants to make a group chat or start anything off please just @ me cuz I want in too! I have to sleep now but I am seeing a lot of people looking for friends and lemme tell you I am one of you and it’s reciprocated, no one in this fandom needs to be lonely, ok?

Skyrim Mods: Regarding the State of the Subreddit.
For clarification, I originally posted this on the r/skyrimmods subreddit - both as a response to one of the new moderators, Sir_Lith, and as it's own post, which was deleted by one of the other new moderators, AsphodelusPoet. I planned on posting this under the main post they've been directing everyone towards, "The State of the Subreddit", but I found out I was banned from posting for a day due to an unspecified rule violation. This is my text, in full. I know it's a lot, but if you are in this community, I ask that you read through this. I reached out to multiple other users in order to put this post together, and I want to bring attention to a serious issue regarding the current environment of the subreddit and how it has fostered multiple harassment campaigns and led to the doxxing of two separate mod authors in recent memory. I say this with love for the community, and to ask Thallassa to step down from her position and take accountability for her actions.
I originally typed all of this up in response to this comment by u/Sir_Lith, one of the newest moderators to this subreddit. I also posted this to its own post in order to actually have more visibility, but it was locked by u/AsphodelusPoet, another new moderator. To be clear, I am not trying to bash the moderation team with this post. However, as many other members of this community have realized and stated, things need to drastically change moving forwards. I do genuinely hope to have an open discussion regarding all of this, especially including the moderation team. As a disclaimer, I do not personally know Goredev or Thallassa, but I've been a member of the Gore discord server and this subreddit for a little over a year and a half each, if I had to guess.
For the sake of being fair to both parties involved- you do realize the discord server for Gore was routinely flooded with people from this subreddit attempting to harass Goredev because one of your moderators boosted the visibility of a post that accused him of being a sexual predator? The moderators of the server, the regular members of the server, and lurkers like me can all attest to what we saw, and that's without what may have been said to GoreDev in private or in other servers. This went on for multiple days, hundreds of people attempting to brigade the server, many of them posting hate speech and directly targeting several members. One stand out incident was a specific member being targeted for her race and sexuality as well as being mocked for the recent passing of her father. If you'd like to talk about targeted harassment, we shouldn't only focus on Thallassa.
Am I saying any of this is your fault? Not in the slightest. You were not part of the moderation team at the time. However, this is an issue that should be addressed, especially by Thallassa. People in this subreddit are still acting like Goredev is being melodramatic for being effected by a severe accusation and wanting an apology from one of the people directly responsible for that post reaching the visibility it did. That, in my opinion, is not an outrageous demand.
Multiple individuals who were involved with the events last year have stated that Thallassa was not receptive to resolving this issue privately. When she refused to communicate privately then, when an innocent man was being harassed and doxxed, why would things be any different now? There's a reason the people who were involved a year ago are still hurt and upset. If the moderation team would like to handle this privately, Goredev has stated he would be receptive to it. He, out of everyone here, seems to just want to put this behind him properly and move on.
It's imperative to note that the accusations Goredev faced last year would have had significant impact on his personal life if he and the other members of his community hadn't dropped everything they were doing in order to clear his name. As another commenter said, Goredev was in the military at the time and currently has custody of a minor child. Allegations of sexual misconduct, harassment, and grooming could have wrecked his actual real life. This isn't just internet drama. This is an innocent man's life that was put in the crossfire, especially with the doxxing that took place. That is not something that can be smoothed over with a PR apology. He could have lost his job, custody of his child, and so much more if he didn't act as quickly and efficiently as he did.
This is not the first time a mod author has been affected by behavior like this, either. Kukielle, author of Daegon, was rather publicly harassed, doxxed, and sent death threats on the regular by members of this subreddit. Pretending that the situations with Goredev or Kukielle are the first time something like this has happened is an insult to the other people who have been harassed out of this community. Thallassa was a moderator during these incidents, too. Her inaction to safeguard individuals in this community has put several people in immediate danger. There should have been action to protect these individuals, rather than letting drama sit and fester in the comments of obviously inflammatory posts. Despite the wording of the first rule of this subreddit, this subreddit does not foster a positive environment for many of the mod authors who have been slandered, harassed, and brigaded. There needs to be substantial change in the moderation policy of this subreddit in order to keep people safe.
Now, in my own personal opinion, Thallassa needs to take action to properly rectify this situation. I'm not a reddit moderator myself, but I've helped moderate a fair few public discord servers in the past. This entire situation is a shitshow, and it can not be resolved by arguing semantics with people. I'm familiar enough with reddit to know that the main post has been getting downvoted, as are many of the responses from the moderation team. My suggestion would be having her step down from her role as soon as the new moderators have gotten accustomed to everything behind the scenes. As it currently stands, her involvement in the events of last year is a large stain on her reputation, and, as such, the reputation of the subreddit at large. It's not an easy action to take, but it will be the one to cause the least problems down the line.
I do not expect a response to this post at this point. You and the others have shown no interest in actually addressing the issues at hand, but sidestepping and arguing semantics. But I do hope you will take at least some of what I have said into consideration. If not here, in the public form with your community as audience, then in private. Thallassa, if you are reading this- please, just apologize. Give everyone in this situation a break, rip off the bandaid, and just get this over with so it doesn't have to continually be dragged out both in this subreddit and the respective discord servers. Let your newly appointed moderation team actually do their jobs instead of having to constantly moderate this thread, this drama that should have been resolved over a year ago.
Before my separate post for this got removed, most of the comments were supportive and in agreement of this post. Please, admins, listen to your community. I know I am not the only one feeling this way. It's incredibly frustrating for us to feel like we aren't being heard.
If this post ends up being removed again, or if I get banned for this- fine. I'll keep my screenshots, you can keep your moderation logs. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope to see positive change moving forwards, but hard decisions must be made for that change to happen.

Watching the downfall of Wattpad is as entertaining as it is sad, tbh.
I have spent a lot of my life in fandom, starting off with a site similar to fanfic.net, then moving on to Wattpad, and finally landing on Ao3 (there was also a time when all the translated fics were coming from a site whose name started with a Q? I think it's not around anymore, though. And most of the "older" people in my fandom had started off with LiveJournal), but this is the very first time I'm seeing someone defend so callously a platform that's clearly going to hell.
The moment the mods on that similar-to-fanfic.net started going on power trips and striking down users and their stories for no reason, people began calling bullshit, both on the site and other places (at the time it was trendy to have Facebook author pages). The site went from having a team of seven mods to one of four to, as of today, a single one plus the owner of the site. Why? Because the mods were rude, didn't listen to the authors and readers, and people rightfully started being upset and leaving for better places.
With Wattpad... it's like observing someone stuck in an abusive relationship and constantly coming up with excuses as to why it's better for them to stay.
The purge happened and they were mad for about two days before they started defending the decision to implement AI to delete (random) works, with a crescendo of accusations towards people who complain their stories were deleted: "I'm sure you can contact the Wattpad Ambassadors and have your story reinstated, don't worry!" to "Surely you did something wrong" to "Why do you want pornography on this website??? Won't you think of the children????"
They're also arguing that the CEO is in the right for deleting those pesky NSFW stories, because otherwise advertisers won't buy ad spaces, and no one wants the Wattpad CEO to go hungry.
Now the site just put up an announcement about how they're going to pull the feature that allows users to DM one another, something that apparently plenty of people relied on because it helped them build friendships. As they did with the purge, people were devastated, then started coming up with half-solutions, then outright attacking anyone who dares say it was a shit idea.
I don't think I've ever seen people brigade so strongly for a site that's clearly falling apart.
--
Quizilla. Quotev lives on, but the more popular Quizilla is no more.
That's amusing. People are generally loath to move, but Wattpad has an unusual level of loyalty.

Apologies
IMO Carmy apologizes just fine and not just to Syd, has always done that actually.
Sometimes he just admits his wrongdoing though, and this tone was set very early in the relationship.
This is almost better than saying "I'm sorry" if you ask me BUT only if followed by an actual change in behavior. THAT'S THE PART HE FALLS SHORT AT, NOT THE APOLOGIES PER SE. (keep reading if you wanna know why because there’s a scientific explanation for that, it’s not his fault yet it is his responsibility to overcome it)
Brigade | 01x03
Braciole | 01x08
Braciole | 01x08
OK, OK! He didn't say "I'm sorry", true. He just admitted his behavior was not OK, which still counts. And then he tried to redeem himself by offering to share his lifelong dream with her. Whether that's even better than an apology or not, I'm not willing to debate, some may think it might be. I'm not one of them, I think a change in behavior is the best apology
BUT to be fair:
Syd didn't apologize either for leaving the take-out option ON, she just offered him a second chance, which means that at that point neither one of them were apologizing with words, they were BOTH using actions instead.
The reason being, the feelings that started brewing beneath the surface, they didn't wanna acknowledge them, they deliberately chose not to and intended to move on. The decision was made. They decided to "keep it profesh", thus they couldn't voice them out because if they did they were gonna upgrade them to "real/official" and they were nowhere ready for that nor were they willing to do it, for that matter. So, in fact, at that point, they probably even decided they were never gonna be and gave up before even giving it a second thought.
In his case the progression of that was quite obvious:
<That's why C showed up shortly after, btw. It just fits the timeline they both tacitly started building since Braciole.>
AND BECAUSE LOVE FOR CARMY MEANS THIS↓
"It always gets fucked."
In her case, I can only guess because the sadist completely deprived us of her juicy background story pretty much, but I could bet an obscene amount of money on Syd having a similar idea of what love might entail, that's why no matter how loving and nurturing she is, she doesn't really let anyone in - refer to her tattoo for symbology pls -
She puts up walls:
More about that here:
Luckily in S3 they are getting flimsier by the minute, but still.
Back to his apologies
Pasta | 02x02
In Pasta he apologized and taught her the "Sorry" sign, even when he wasn't the one who did anything wrong because it was Syd who fucked up the lacto ferment.
Then he did apologize when appropriate a few days later:
Sundae | 02x03
Bolognese | 02x08
Omelette | 02x09
Omelette | 02x09
The Bear | 02x10
Tomorrow | 03x01
Apologies | 03x09
So as you can clearly see, he has no problem apologizing to anyone when he means it, his problem starts after the apology because even when he meant it, even when he's truly repentant, he fucks up, which IMPO is actually a trauma response → linked to his C-PTSD to be more precise. He self-boycotts because his brain is wired that way after years of enduring abuse. Meaning, Carmy has ABI (Abusive Brain Injury), which is a type of non-traumatic brain injury (although it could also be TBI if the abuse was also physical) that leads to damaged brain tissue resulting from years of consistent psychological and sometimes physical abuse, like the one he suffered when around Donna and Eleven Madison Dickhead. His 2 main abusers.
In other words, he's wired for failure till he overcomes his trauma, which as I keep saying, will happen in S4 because he has already started his healing process and had his breakthrought in 03x10.
You can read more about the correlation between ABI and abuse here.
Why he doesn't apologize to the C person?
Glad you asked, I already answered that question a while ago:
But it could also be because Syd didn't greenlight him in 03x01 or because C actually told him: "Never apologize". OR because:
I'm going to stick to the theory of it being a denial by-product, though, as I explained in the 1° meta above about GUILT being his main driver just because it's very IC of him. However, it wouldn't be a stretch if it were a combination of all these factors.
Bonus track: He doesn't have a problem with saying ILY either (if he really means it that is, he won't take it lightly), the problem is being on the receiving end of those words because they usually are the preface of a very painful story for him, a story where he usually ends up getting hurt and disappointed.

With the Reddit API change about to take effect, I want to mention a few things that I've seen that are likely to change or go away.
First of all, there's multiple bot accounts used for moderation, user tools, or plain fun. Everyone here loves haiku-bot. Reddit has u/haikusbot which does the same thing. The API change means it won't work anymore. There's also u/RemindMeBot which you can ping to set reminders. One useful bot due to repost karma-farmers always being an issue is u/RepostSleuthBot which can scan Reddit to see if a post has previously been uploaded. There's also u/SaveVideo which can create downloaded video files of posts. So the API changes mean losing a lot of user tools.
Then there's site specific bots like u/Roboragi which posts links to anime/manga sites for people. r/lotrmemes is filled with tons of bots of various lotr characters (and Robert Baratheon) and the bots will have full conversations in the comments. So the API changes means an end to a piece of some subreddits' culture.
And finally there's u/automoderator. This is a major tool used by mods to manage the subs. u/automoderator is used across multiple subreddits and has various functions per sub. One simple task is to check if a poster has a certain minimum karma, thus preventing spammers from casually brigading a subreddit. It can also auto ban users who post to certain subreddits which keeps out certain political views (or maybe two subreddits are just having silly wars with each other). Also, it can auto-comment important messages to posts.
So this change is going to destroy a lot of the internal charm of the site and it will also open the flood gates to bots, scammers, and all sorts of horrible things that mods can only barely hold back, especially on the huge subs, political subs, and any minority support subs.
