#i feel like. um. tours go where the audience is#and uh. perhaps. just a theory. two english speaking youtubers are going to have a larger audience#in western counties and especially english speaking countries#they even only have two shows in the very south of canada#wait dam ni did not know canada's population is TEN times less than the USA. that explains a lot#anyways i was just getting to the point that they definitely have dedicated fans all over the world who would love to see them#and they know that#but they have to consider whether they're going to have 50 people in a theatre or 500#and if they're going to be forcing those 50 people to travel great distances or 500 ppl who live right next door y'know#to be quite frank despite the rennassiance i'd say they're still less popular than at the II era#damn WAD had SIX canada shows something's up with that.... maybe it's just bigger venues#seems like WAD has a lot more shows in a lot of places but i did compare the venues in my area and the TIT one is 2.5x bigger#anyways yeah my own example. i'm not sure if i'll go. even tho i'm watchign them again i'm not a Fan like i was back in 2020#damn THREE shows in florida that's insane. why#but yeah even looking at the USA map there's nothing in the northern midwest#i'm sure there are at least 10 phannise in montana who are scrimping and scraping to travel to washington right now#but the fact of the matter is the northern midwest is the most sparsly populated area of the USA#so it just won't pay off to travel there - even tho the % phannie is probably the same as the rest of the USA#the population is low enough multiply by that % = too few people!#and on the europe map we can see they're only going to northern europe#they're not even going to france or spain#now i'm not an expert in europe but i am under the impression that northern europeans speak more english#so more of them will be fans of english-lanuage dnp#and tbh i think the reason they haven't said anything is um. that they expected people to know this.#dnp#also um. ppl talking about this in context of latin america and asia um there's another big continent missing: africa.#but nobody seems concerned about that one because nobody expects there to be dnp fans there#so like people must understand this to some degree#also if dan lost money on WAD it makes sense they'd be more conservative booking venues#it's entirely reasonable to be heartbroken ofc just saying this bc i saw ppl say The Only Possible Reason is racism

oh, yeah, sure, perhaps I was exaggerating a bit (but not much). I used to work in the Cape Winelands and a sommelier friend of mine made it their mission to find red wines I'd enjoy. like cincault is alright, aromatic in a way that I enjoy, and I once had a light barbera which paired very well with whatever I was eating at the time (that's the other thing. as a vegetarian/pescetarian, white wine pairing is more straightforward and unless I have a sommelier's guidance, I'm just going to avoid reds lest it overpower the flavours of my meal)
and definitely let red wines breathe ! my general belief is that people throughout history have liked good flavours, and so these practices probably emerged for a reason other than ritualised pretentiousness
wine for idiots
WHITE WINE
if you want to make a wine person very unhappy, say that a white wine they like "is giving me a little green bell pepper?"
RED WINE
honestly the only two questions you need to start credibly talking about red wine are "does it taste like red fruits (strawberry/cherry/raspberry) or black fruits (blackberry/plum)?" and "does it taste oaky (i.e. gently sweet and earthy in a way youd associate with coffee or chocolate or warming spices)
if its a fancy dry wine (not a dessert wine, not port, manischewitz or markovic) dont say "sweet," say "juicy"
FIZZY WINE
if its red and fizzy its probably a lambrusco
if youre drinking champagne talk about the "minerality," even chalk notes if youre feeling gutsy. you dont have to taste it just say it
ORANGE WINE
this is very trendy. youre gonna want to talk about its "funkiness." if you use the term "gym socks" at the right time you will get a round of laughs or at least knowing nods. if you see shmutz in the bottom dont worry about it.
MISC
if you want a wine person to talk for a while and not ask you any questions just ask them how they feel about natural wine. theyll go on for a little and you can decide to agree or disagree based on how hot they are
#the cape winelands by the way were established by french protestants/huguenots fleeing persecution from catholics in france#fleeing first to the protestant netherlands and then to the dutch colony at the cape#and discovered that we have a mediterranean climate and mountains and started growing wine here#so although we're a new world wine region there are still some tendencies of more classic european style wine here#which helps because importing french and italian wine to the uk is undoubtedly cheaper than getting it in south africa#(which is why you should befriend a sommelier who is willing to buy the expensive bottles)#and since we're on the topic#my favourite white wines are probably sémillon verdelho gewürtztraminer#viognier kinda but if you get unlucky these can start to approach the green bell pepper#i'm not normally a sauvignon or chenin blanc enjoyer#chardonnays are also hit or miss and depend oaking etc

the world if sims 4 had more lots per world
#SICKENINGGG I MISS TS3 BUT I LIKE THE MODS I HAVE FOR TS4 .#society if the sims game in my head existed irl goddddd#bc i got a mod u see IIII know yours shocked. i actully have had it 4 a while but basically i wanted to have umm a graveyard lot. bc one of#my mods also i love graveyards u gets it.#so i was checking my sims worlds thang bc i was hoping i could find a good place for my sims 3 live rhat i opersonally hc as being the same#town/very close 2 eachother#so i could split all the lots i wanted between the 2 kind of thing yk#but the only 'same town' worlds i have r new orleans (magnolia prom willow creek newcrest also miniopolis but thats not in this game) and#san fran (san sequoia and san myshuno (ik san myshuno isnt purely based on san francisco but i think its the most obvious also my map isnt#like This is exactly this ! kind of thing.simnation does nottt equal usa thats why canada is a part of it and also theres only 8 states LMA#i need 2 update it 4 the new world..... nice to have a new latinamerican world we r sooo sorely lacking#by my calculations (not absolute) we only have 2 in the entire series. and one of those is just a vacation world...#but now we have a new one andddd its a full world <3#so thats exciting. if u were curious i have isla paradiso as being in the sims equivalent of the caribbean and then i have selvadorada in#sims version of mesoamerica since the omiscans r based around there and stuff. + selvadorada might be el salvador reference i just think it#fits.#ciudad enamorada it seem will also be in the mesoamerica/mexico area#ik its also inspired by the iberian peninsula and stuff . but yk..#europe has a handful already even if by my calculations we dont have any that id place in the sims iberian peninsula.#but i feel theres something off abt that i think there was one that might be around there#why the fuck is tartosa not on my list UGH. the sims wiki the worlds section its missing a couple of ts4 worlds so some slipped thru#ok well yeah. id imagine tartosa as being around there. in the italy/spain/southern france sort of zone. so ill put it on the eastern bit o#the iberian peninsula since i already have a couple worlds in italyzone#so ya basically. if yr curious by my calculations africa is the most neglected continent (the world is entirely shocked.) bc im pretty sur#the only world i think is in africa. and this is a shocker. its the al simhara from ts3. bc thats literally in egypt#afaik there arent any others at least in mainline sims games..#also a shocker the continent w the most is north america. i know. try not to feak.#oh wait ive just realized that means there r no south american worlds. since mexico and el salvador r both in north america. the skeleton.#ok so south america is the least represented. i think.#again this is all based on Me imagining where things r so grain of salt okie?

Thoughts on my first Tarzan rewatch since I was a kid:
• Golly gee, I did not remember that both Kerchak and Kala’s very young son AND Tarzan’s parents get mauled by a leopard, it happens within the first ten minutes, and you actually SEE his parents’ bodies. Modern Disney would NEVER
• Also remember when Disney actually animated really good fight scenes, they had nail-biting tangible stakes, and they actually showed blood??? Remember when they weren’t cowards????
• REMEMBER WHEN TARZAN KILLED THE LEOPARD TRYING TO PROVE HIMSELF TO HIS ADOPTIVE FATHER HAVING NO IDEA THAT HE WAS AVENGING HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER (AND MOTHER). REMEMBER THAT
• It’s been said before, but the effort put into the physicality of Tarzan is just top-tier—especially later into the film where he starts to mix his gorilla and learned human mannerisms. There is so much detail here and it’s fascinating
• Also, the times where they chose to make the gorilla conversations understandable to the audience or make them sound like gorillas (aka switch to Jane’s pov) is SO fascinating and does wonders for building up the “two worlds” dichotomy.
• Jane’s crush on Tarzan is SO obvious and honestly comes on so suddenly, she is delulu for days, but honestly I cannae blame her, if *I* was saved by a strong handsome wild man who couldn’t understand me but stared deeply into my eyes as if he could see my soul through them as he pressed the palms of our hands together, I’d probably fold too
• My favorite character was Tantor the elephant. WHAT a character arc, I was so proud of him
• Hey uhhhhhhhh remember how the villain of this movie died by inadvertently hanging himself and the movie indicated this by showing his dangling silhouette in a flash of lightning??? HELLO???
• Y’all like to give Ariel a hard time for giving up her voice for a man when Jane Porter permanently and irrevocably left civilized society to run away to the wilds of Africa to live with gorillas for a man she met a week or two ago who she’s still getting over language barrier issues with. I’m not saying she shouldn’t have done so, I completely support her decision, but I feel like if this movie weren’t so slept on some of y’all would have a lot more to say about it.
• In general Jane is a bit more unhinged than we give her credit for, and more power to her. She’s rapidly climbing the ranks of my favorite Disney princesses.
• And then her father joins her??? “People go missing all the time”???? LOL
• Finally, it’s been said before, but: Phil Collins, you legend. You did not have to go that hard on this film, but you did and we appreciate it so much

TALK ABOUT SUDAN
Sudan-a country located in northeastern Africa at the southern edge of Sahara- has been facing an ongoing civil war since April 15th of 2023. About 13,000 citizens have been killed, including children, elderly, woman, and men. More than 8 million citizens have been displaced. About 70,000+ children are facing life-threatening malnutrition, the numbers are steadily increasing. The war in Sudan is triggering the ‘world’s largest hunger crisis.’
It’s a civil war between two rival factions of the military government of Sudan, the Sudanese armed forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Even before the war started, the Sudanese government was in complete shambles. In almost daily protests for peace and justice, at least over 50 citizens would be killed ‘accidentally’ (they would have bullet wounds in their heads, chests, and other vital areas), women would be kidnapped and harassed by the ‘RSF’, children and citizens would randomly go missing only to be found in underground freezers meant to be used for fruits and other resources.
Right now, more than 25 million people are facing starvation and dangerous disease. We’re almost 11 months into Sudan war, yet not many people are speaking about this. Please take your time to open the link down below, you don’t even need to donate, just share the link to other people who might be able to.

True to their word, the second the sun finished setting over Amity Park, Illinois, the ghosts fled the town.
This presented several problems. The most pressing of which was the fact that they now had a Missing Persons case to deal with where the prime suspects have just fled the area. The second problem was that the Justice League had no way of tracking any of the ghosts.
Superman had cleared all of the US Bases in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. The Flash had managed to clear all the US Gov. Bases in every state East of Idaho, Utah, and Arizona. No leads anywhere.
The ghosts were quiet as they left the town. So quiet, in fact, that the only reason the Justice League and the two accompanying JLD members even knew they were leaving was because they saw them leaving. And even then, they'd been fading out of visibility, so they'd had to rely on Red Huntress's confirmation that they were leaving.
Robin had taken his team, Young Justice, into the town to work rescue and touch base with Red Huntress in person. They were also given the charge on looking for Daniel Fenton. Just because the primary suspects had fled didn't mean that the trail was cold.
"Do we have any way to track them yet?" Batman honest to god growled to Constantine and Zatanna.
Constantine, honest to god, growled back. "Not since you last asked two minutes ago!"
"Lay off, B!" Zatanna snapped, "We're doing our best, and your hovering isn't helping!"
The Dark Knight switched bases, tuning his comm back to listen to Superman and The Flash. "Any luck, you two?"
"Nope," Superman sighed, "I'm just finishing up in Alaska and Canada. There's not even a hint as to the US Gov. knowing anything about magic, let alone another dimension." There was a brief pause. "I'm heading down to Africa next."
Batman grunted in response, filing the information away. Whoever was covering these tracks was good. Way better than the US. Government usually was. They could've outsourced, but they're not that stupid. "Flash?"
"Nothing on my end," he whispered back, "I've just finished checking Idaho, Utah, and Arizona; I'm in Nevada now. I'll be heading down to SoCal before moving up to finish in Washington."
Again, Batman grunted his affirmation. How were these guys staying so hidden? And how were they keeping a ghost trapped? Hopefully, they'd managed to corner the people they were looking for. If not, well, he didn't think there was time to do another sweep of the world. It's been a day already, and a lot can happen in a day. A lot more can happen in two days. Three is pushing it. Any more than three days and they risk an actual war, more than they already are.
Batman didn't sigh as he switch comm channels again. "Nightwing."
"Batman." Nightwing responded with equal stoneyness.
"Anything to report?"
"There's no Government bases in Bludhaven. Not official, not shady. I've been over the entire city twice now."
"Let me know if that changes."
"Fuck off."
He switched channels again. "Oracle, anything on your end?"
"Nothing," she answered, "Nothing in Gotham that needs your attention, though there are rumors about another Arkham break happening within the next week. As for your JL case? Also nothing. Though, there is a weird firewall around pretty much any information around Amity Park that I can't get through."
"Turn in for now, Oracle, I'll have Cyborg take a look at the firewall."
"Alright, B. Goodnight." She clicked off, but Batman knew she wouldn't be turning in for a few hours.
Batman switched back to his empty channel. Before deciding against it and connecting to Robin. "Report."
There was a few seconds before Robin answered. "Other than Daniel 'Danny' Fenton, everyone else in town is accounted for. All of the ghosts are gone. We tried to get a look at the rifts that Z and Constantine mentioned, but Jasmine Fenton - Daniel's older sister - won't let even her parents near it. Did you know that it's in their basement? What a stupid-"
"Robin."
"Right. We don't know where the second rift is, but there's nothing coming from either of them. I think it's safe to assume that nothing else is going to be coming out right now."
"Red Huntress?"
"Is running recon with Superboy over the town. They'll be back in a few minutes."
"And the rest of you?"
"We're at Town Hall."
"Good. Daniel?"
"His trail's cold. Jasmine Fenton was the last of his family to see him yesterday, but that's all we've gotten from her or her parents. We did manage to find two of his friends, Samantha 'Sam' Manson and Tucker Foley, but they claim to have not seen him since yesterday afternoon."
"You believe them?"
"Hard not to. We don't really have much to go on other than 'missing boy that no one has seen in nearly twenty-four hours'. And with no peaceful way to look at either dimension rift, we're a bit stuck."
Batman hummed. "Keep working on it." He switched back into his open channel.
Robin had specified that there was no 'peaceful' way of looking into the rifts. Without the ghosts, then the only things in the way were Jasmine Fenton and the unknown location of the second rift. He could break into the Fenton residence and incapacitate Jasmine to look at it, but he'd have no idea what to look for. Sneaking Zatanna or Constantine in with him will be too hard to be convenient.
"Zatanna?" he asked.
The magician was obviously beyond irritated, but she responded. "What."
"Do you know where the two rifts are?"
"Under the Fenton house and under the mayor's house, why?"
"Hm." Interesting. Why does the mayor have a rift under his house? It doesn't excuse either of them, but the Fenton's have made it because they're ghost hunters. What does the mayor need one for? He called Cyborg. "I need you to crack the firewall over information from Amity Park Illinois."
"Anything else?"
"Look into the town's mayor for me."
"Got it, Batman."

miku.earth update: September 15
Hi all! This is a lil progress update for those interested. In a rush? Here's the cliff notes!
The map site at miku.earth is back: sorry for the delay in fixing it! Check it out: it has six hundred Mikus!
Including the hyuge ol' queue, we've collected over 3,100 mikus!
Representation is important! I've been using some fancy stats to avoid bias. To that end, please help make sure we have a Miku in every African country!
oh hey! you clicked 'keep reading!' well hi! here is your Miku Direct. . The map site, miku.earth, is back!
I ran into a kinda complex issue and it was a whole Thing. I was working on the site the whole time though! Sorry for the delay, and I hope you enjoy now it's back up and running.
This site has six hundred Mikus on the map, and more are added each week. It was recently rebuilt from scratch (fun fact! I am not a web developer) so I hope it is far zippier and less glitchy as before. A mobile-friendly version is coming soon too!
Also: check out the new search feature! In addition to the title, artist name and region(s), it can also search for the categories indigenous and historic!
cw: this video involves moving around a 2D map with some speed. on the site itself site, this only happens when you hit the Enter key.
We've reached more than 3,100 mikus!
Even at its Miku-per-hour speed, the queue will continue until 2025 at least! This is with thanks to an incredible number of contributions, including donations of literal thousands of links.
Thank you so much to @awnowimsad, @worldmikuposter @the-hatsune-miku-trend, @communist-hatsunemiku, @council-of-beetroot, L-A and a whole host of DMers and emailers for helping get this far.
Oh and by the way: over two thirds of the collection are tumblr posts! Given that this was originally a twitter trend… if you know any Twitter users who are into this trend, please reach out. Some napkin math tells me there are at least 10,000 works of art total out there, which is, by the way, surreal. Let's make sure not a single one is lost.
If you're super curious, the collection is public! I have some tools to auto-annotate (I do not want RSI), but be aware the backlog isn't vetted.
Representation is important!
Fun as this trend is, this project was always intended as a serious study into how people represent their own culture through artwork. I'm no anthropologist, but I feel it is important to make sure this collection is respectful and bias-free. If we're to represent the world, we have to avoid underrepresentation!
To that end I've used some fancy statistics to calculate a "representation value" for each country. Here's a table if you're into the stats of it! This info is handy to help me with the queue – especially with tweets as they're a lil more effort than a carefully-tagged reblog. Of course, Indigenous, hyperspecific and low-note Mikus get priority.
And, well, of course you can see on the site there are purple regions for countries still missing a Miku. In particular, please help me make sure every country in Africa is represented.
Thank you for reading!
Phew! That was a lot. If you're still curious, please check the behind-the-scenes and source code. I work in the open! Even if my code is probably messy.
And if you're a programmer, issues and pull requests are welcome! This is actually a static site, so it's purdy easy to develop.

Foxes
Jenni Hermoso x Child!Reader
Summary: You like foxes
Jenni watches as you unpack your bag.
It is with great certainty that you line up your toys. She'd tried to get you to cut down on the amount that you brought with you but it'd triggered a meltdown so big that the neighbours complained about the noise.
It was easier to let you bring them all, even if they were all exactly the same as each other.
It wasn't an exaggeration either.
They were the same exact fox toy. The same one over and over again.
You had a few different ones at home but there were about seven or eight of this one, staring at Jenni with blank black eyes.
You pet each of them on the head before getting off the bed. You've been fascinated with the carpet ever since you both got in, randomly stopping what you were doing to aimlessly stroke it with a little crinkle between your brows that shows you don't know why you like it either.
It's another one of those things that Jenni has come to love about you.
It's strange, she knows, to outsiders but it's you down to your very core and she loves that.
You occupy yourself so well, so independent in your playing. Or...independent in the way that you only played by yourself because people tended to not play the way you liked and that usually sent you into a meltdown.
Either way, with you investigating the carpet and your foxes lined up against your pillows, Jenni takes the time to unpack her own things.
It had been a bit of a risk bringing you to the World Cup but with her parents and Rafa both busy, there was nowhere else she could put you but here.
"There foxes here, Mami?" You ask, finally sitting up.
"In Australia?" Jenni asks," I think so, osita."
You hum and get to your feet.
Your obsession with foxes is a little over the top, Jenni can admit but it's not causing anyone any harm so she indulges it. Besides, it just means that she knows exactly what to get you.
You hum again, meandering over to rub your hands over her soft tracksuit bottoms.
Your hand does a big swipe down before going straight up to her hip to do it again.
"Do they feel nice?" Jenni asked with a little laugh and your head bobs up and down in agreement.
You jolt when there's a knock at the door though. You immediately clamp your hands over your ears and Jenni sympathetically smooths down your hair.
"Don't like it, Mami," You say.
"I know."
There's another round of knocks, more impatient than before.
"One second!" Jenni calls as she sets you up at the desk with your pencils and drawing pad.
Jenni pokes her head out of the door. "Hola?"
Irene, Laia, Mariona and Alexia wait there, each of them sporting large smiles.
"Can we come in?"
Jenni spares a look behind her. You seem content again, scrawling over the paper.
"Yeah, alright." She lets the others in. "Osita, we've got company."
"Hi," You say but don't tear your eyes away from the page.
Laia and Mario instantly make themselves comfortable on Jenni's bed while Irene goes to check out the view. Alexia wanders closer to you, crouching by the chair you're sitting in.
"Hola, osita," She says to you," It's nice to see you again. I missed you."
"Okay." You keep drawing.
"Osita," Jenni says," Tell Alexia you missed her too."
Your brows draw together but you do what you're told. "Alexia," You say," Missed you too."
Alexia smiles at you fondly, more than aware of your little quirks as she takes a peak at your drawing. "That's a nice fox," She says.
"Yes," You say," It's a red fox." You flip to the front of the book to show the exact same drawing. You keep flipping the pages to show Alexia the exact same drawing on all of them.
The same red fox on all the pages.
"Red fox," You say, suddenly regurgitating words Jenni's heard countless times before," Vulpes vulpes. Found in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Most widely distributed animal naturally apart from people." You keep drawing, dragging your pencil across the page. "Give birth in dens. Babies stay with adults until autumn and then leave."
"You know a lot about foxes," Alexia says.
"Yes," You reply, switching your orange pencil for black.
"Do you have a favourite?"
"Swift fox," You say immediately," Vulpes velox. Small like housecat. Found in America." Somehow, you've opened up a little to Alexia, fully facing her now though your eyes are nowhere near her face. "I like foxes."
"I know," Alexia says. She dips her hand into her pocket. "I couldn't find a big one but here."
It's a keyring with a knitted fox attached to it.
You swipe your hand over the fabric and immediately pull it away, grabbing it by the silver ring instead. You want to pull a face but you know that's not okay.
Mami tells you that all the time so you keep your face blank.
You shuffle off the chair to give the keychain to Mami to look after, wiping the icky feeling off your hand while you're still there.
"Is this from Ale?" She asks and you nod," Did you say thank you?"
You turn back to face Alexia again. "Thank you."
You don't go back to your drawing, you just sit at Mami's feet and trace the pattern of the carpet with your finger.
"Hey, osita," Laia says to you," Are you enjoying Mexico?"
You don't look up from what you're doing. "No," You say," Roja is not in Mexico."
"Roja?"
"Fox that me and Mami fed in our garden," You continue, perking up a little bit," She is not in Mexico. We do not have a fox in Mexico."
"Roja wasn't ours," Mami reminds you," She only came back because we kept feeding her."
"Roja had babies," You say like Mami hasn't even said anything," That's why she was fat. Roja had babies and then we left her."
Mami sighs. "We didn't leave Roja. We-"
"Red foxes have between four to five babies," You plough on, sitting upright again and talking at Laia," Born blind and deaf. Mating happens in winter so babies are born in spring, raised in summer and leave in autumn. Babies-"
You cut yourself off as Alexia goes to move and you stand up.
"Why you going?"
"Osita," Mami says," What have I said about being polite?"
You blink at Mami a few times, trying to recall what she told you before. Mami has to give your reminders a lot. She says that you're not good socially but you don't think it's your fault that people are weird and don't make sense.
She understands you and Alexia understood you when you used to live in Spain and that's all that matters.
"Where you going?" You correct and Mami laughs a little in disbelief, though you don't really get why.
Alexia laughs. "Just the toilet, osita. I'll be back soon."
You nod at her, just once. "Okay."
You sit back down by Mami's feet and go back to tracing the carpet.
"Someone missed her tia Ale," Irene teases and that causes you to frown.
Actually, you don't think you did miss Alexia, not in the way Irene clearly thinks you do. Actually, you don't really think about Alexia when you're in Mexico. You don't really think about anyone that much unless you see a picture of them.
Maybe you do miss Alexia though. In the beginning you think you did but that's because she was a big part of your life and then she suddenly wasn't anymore and that's a big adjustment.
You miss Alexia now though, as she goes off to the toilet but you've never been all that consumed by missing people except for Mami and that's never really happened because you're always with her.
Feelings are weird and people are even weirder, you decide and you migrate a bit closer to Mami. You tug on her leg, looking at her with big wide eyes.
She seems to understand you though, throwing your favourite fox patterned blanket to you.
You make a little tent so you don't have to see anyone else.
You can't always interact with people well so you prefer being in your fox tent.
You take a big, deap breath that runs through your whole body before releasing it.
You smile.
You can feel Mami behind you.
You think this World Cup won't be as bad as you thought it would be.
