Re-enchanting Humanity
Beyond any shadow of doubt, we direly need an ecological sensibility — one that is marked by a sense of wonder for natural evolution and the splendor of the biosphere in its many varied forms. But nature is not a scenic window that overlooks the Pacific coastal mountains or the New England marshlands. Nature is above all a process — a wondrous process that can admired on its own terms, not by invoking deities that are simply crude anthropomorphic projections of ourselves — male or female — in a mystified, often irrational, and sometimes a highly hierarchical form — a procedure that has served hierarchical interests for many millenia by lulling the oppressed into a paralyzing quietism and sense of resignation.
A remarkable product of natural evolution are the human beings who people the planet — beings that are no less products of nature than grizzly bears and whales. And like bears and whales, the human species — for it is no less a species when seen from a biological standpoint than it is social from the standpoint of social ecology — has acquired a remarkable capacity called conceptual thought. In this respect, natural evolution has endowed this species with powers that are unmatched by other species: powers to form highly institutionalized communities called societies that, unlike the genetically programmed “social insects,” are capable of an evolutionary development of their own, however rooted they may be in nature.
The crucial question we face today — not only for ourselves as human beings but for the entire biosphere — is how social evolution will proceed and in what direction it will go. To deal with this question primarily as a matter of spiritual renewal, desirable as that may be. is not only evasive but socially disarming. Social evolution took a wrong turn ages ago when it shifted from egalitarian institutions and relations to hierarchical ones. It took an even worse turn a few centuries ago when it shifted from a relatively cooperative society to a highly competitive one. If we are to bring society and nature into accord with each other, we must develop a movement that fulfills the evolutionary potential of humanity and society, that is to say, turn the human world into a self-conscious agent of the natural world and enhance the evolutionary process — natural and social. All the eco-babble of Devall, Sessions, Naess, and their acolytes aside, if we do not intervene to act creatively on nature (indeed, to rescue it from itself at times), we will betray everything of a positive character that natural evolution itself endowed us with — our potentially unprecedented richness of mind, sympathy, and conscious capacity to care for nonhuman species. Given an ecological society, our technology can be placed as much in the service of natural evolution as it can be placed in the service of a rational social evolution.
To call for a “return to the Pleistocene,” as “Earth First!” has done, to degrade humanity as so many misanthropic “antihumanists” and “biocentrists” have done is not only atavistic but crudely reactionary. A degraded humanity will only yield a degraded nature as our capitalistic society and our hierarchical history have amply demonstrated. We are direly in need not only of “re-enchanting the world” and “nature” but also or re-enchanting humanity — of giving itself a sense of wonder over its own capacity as natural beings and a caring product of natural evolution. A Supernature, peopled by “earth-based” deities, must be replaced by a healthy naturalism in which, as a movement, we will re-establish our severed ties with nature by naturalistic means and heal our terribly wounded society by social means. For Greens, in particular, this means that we must formulate a new, independent, revolutionary politics, using this word in its broadest possible sense, not recycle old, shopworn, sedating deities — be they Eastern or Western, pagan or Christian, “earth-bound” or “heaven-bound”. We must learn to look reality directly in the face, not obscure it with irrational thinking and a fog of dense, obscurantist myths.
The Left Network of the Vermont Greens has already taken the all-important step of trying to formulate a truly radical program — “Toward a New Politics” — that sketches out the basic concepts of a Left Green ecological movement. It openly describes itself as an “ecological humanism” (to use this term in its best sense, not the perverted meaning given to the word “humanism” by “deep ecology.’” And it advances the basic principles of social ecology as they apply to American political life. Either ecology movements and the Greens will free themselves of subtly hierarchical “centricities” — “bio” or “anthropo” — and develop a clearly defined and coherent body of social principles based on ecological concepts or they will become a marginalized collection of privileged encounter groups — one that may learn to “think like a mountain,” as Devall recommends but one that will be justly ignored as another fad, a target of derision at worst or healthy ridicule at best.

Hello There!
Welcome to my art blog! I hope you enjoy your stay. <3
To make navigation a bit easier, I'll pin the links to my RimWorld playthroughs (by far the most popular posts on this blog) so that newcomers don't feel too lost.
The Animist Alliance- A colony mostly composed of charitable vegetarians who just want to build a pretty base and raise an army of thrumbos (finished) Bonus: The "theme song" of this colony (the song that always makes me think of them)
The Children of Ecthuctu- A cult of nomadic cannibals who worship an eldritch deity and wander the planet searching for a ship (finished) Bonus: The "theme song" of this colony (the song that always makes me think of them)
A Mechanitor's Message- A misanthropic mechanitor who wants nothing to do with other people and everything to do with mechanoids (in progress) Bonus: The "theme song" of this colony (the song that always makes me think of it)
In addition to these "main storylines", there is bonus content mostly found in the 'asks' tag or the colony-specific tags. I love love love answering asks, and often get carried away drawing for them, so please don't hesitate to send as many as you like <3
Here's the current mod list for anybody curious!
If you're feeling especially generous, I now have a Ko-fi! I have no idea how any of this works, but I do know it's easier to draw when I can afford my seizure medicine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
#pinned post#pushing500#I have a very ✨refined✨ music taste#as you can tell lmao#Have a wonderful day! <3 <3

so.. when you say "nonhuman" do you mean you reject your humanity?
i've never thought about it. i'm just 'curious' :))))
Hey! Happy to explain. Confused as to what the quotations around curious mean, but I'll answer anyway haha.
So, we're a system (multiple people in one body, ours is partially due to Dissociative Identity Disorder) of quite a few individuals. A lot of these people just are nonhuman concepts--animals, deities of all sorts, fictional characters, mythical creatures.. You name it. We have a lot of diverse personal identities in here, mostly because that's how our brain decided to manifest our plurality. Nonhuman headmates are fairly known in both medical and nonmedical presentations of plurality.
Aside from that, we're also collectively otherkin--meaning someone who identifies as / is a nonhuman entity of some sort. This has a lot of overlap with nonhuman system members, but the main difference is that a kintype (entity that the otherkin identifies as) is discovered and not immediately innate and/or known. We have several differing explanations for us being otherkin--some being spiritual, some psychological, and some don't bother to think about the "why". We are a crow collectively, as well as having Hunter from The Owl House as an identity too. Our body may look human and be biologically human, sure, but inside we are not, and this is our body, so as something nonhuman we also see our body as an extension of that regardless of the "actual" biology.
I suppose you could call it a rejection of humanity? But for us personally it wasn't a choice, and was just as strongly felt as our gender not alligning with our birth assigned gender. We reject our personal humanity because we are otherkin, not the other way around. We don't personally reject human society, or living in it, or those who do fully identify as human--and we don't like the misanthropic mindset, though that's for another post haha. We just aren't human, and in the limited spaces we can, prefer to be percieved as something other than that. Honestly we're all for the normalisation of it so that we can be open about this more often--and any other nonharmful personal identity is also included in this, mind you.
Hope that explains it well enough, haha. We just got back from a work meeting so our brain might not be working at 100% after spending a lot of focus on it.

Oh cool, place your bets on what this one is.
TAKING ALL BETS, TAKING ALL BETS.
1 - Space Alien 2 - Time Traveler 3 - Esper 4 - Deity 5 - A secret fifth thing
Oh she brought you here to kill you. My dude, turn around and run for your life because the tone of this conversation is not very Slice of Life Anime.
Yep. That's it, Kyon. That's what she's talking about. She isolated you in a classroom super late when nobody's around to hear you scream and is asking you weird questions because she's interested in economic policy.
You know what? Go ahead and kill him. If he can't feel out the tone of this conversation after three separate talks with supernatural beings about Haruhi, then there's no helping it.
Wait, what XD
Okay, I was half-joking with the "She brought you here to kill you" bit. I legit thought this was just going to be another, "By the way I'm uh, spin the wheel, a MOLE PERSON and super interested in observing Haruhi, just wanted you to know!" talk.
But nope. I actually called it. She's going to stab Haruhi's pet in the throat and see if that John Wicks her from violent misanthrope to cosmically enraged super-deity. She got bored with watching slice-of-life anime and wants to make it a battle shonen instead.
Okay. I am here for this. And at least now Kyon's finally figured out the context of--
*deep breath*
Please kill him. He will not be missed.

Hello yes tell us about cthonic gods please
ok ok so
clarification for those that need it: Cthonic deities in Greek Mythology are gods and goddesses and entities that reside in the Underworld
first off i want to say that Hades game was such a godsend for me, because to have such a popular, well-made piece of media that is all about my special interest is like the best gift an autistic person can get
i'll start with my two favorite boys: Hypnos and Thanatos
they are twins, first of all, two sons of Nyx, personification of night, and Erebus, who is darkness (i don't know if Hades game ever touched on this but Hypnos' mom was literally within shouting distance)
Thanatos hates mortals because they hate him (he is not the god of death he just is death, and not many mortals like death) and he hates the Olympians because they can't die, juries out on if he hates his own twin but there is this really cute painting that shows them asleep together, so i would guess ol Thanny is fond of his brother
now also the thing about Thanatos is that he is the personification of peaceful death, it's the furies who deal with violent death, like he's giving people a peaceful passing and they still hate him. death is death i suppose
also i know Thanatos is a love interest in Hades game, but in actual mythology he had no consorts and no children, truly aroace misanthropic king
now onto Hypnos, the personification of sleep, who did fuck, and had at least three children but i'll get to them in a sec
he lives in a grotto on the river Lethe, the river of forgetfulness, one of the five rivers of the Underworld (the others are the Styx, of course, Cocytus, Phlegethon, and Acheron), he has his own court of minor gods and goddesses, including one of my personal favorites, Aergia, goddess of sloth and laziness, truly a "yes girl give us nothing!" moment honestly
there's also this story that i love, related to a mortal man who was also the lover of Selene, the moon. his name was Endymion, and in the more well known story, he was so beautiful when he slept, that Selene wanted to keep him in a state of eternal sleep, and they had 50 children, somehow, but the version of the story that i like (for reasons that will be very obvious lol) is that it was actually Hypnos who fell in love with him for the same reason as Selene, so he put Endymion into a state of eternal sleep, specifically with his eyes open, because he loved gazing into them (gay ass) no clue if their relationship was ever consummated like with Selene but one can imagine, this is Greek mythology after all
now Endymion wasn't the only lover Hypnos ever had, he also fell in love with one of Hera's graces (attendants?) whose name was Pasithea, and showing some remarkable restraint for a divine man in Greek myth, instead of abducting her or taking her by force, he asked Hera if he could marry her, and she agreed on the condition that he help turn the tide of the Trojan war (which is not my special interest so do not ask me about it, i know nothing lol)
with Pasithea, Hypnos had three sons, the most famous of which was Morpheus, god of dreams, his other two sons were Phobetor and Phantasos, but they all represent different aspects of dreaming, objects, beasts and people. Morpheus was specifically people in dreams, but he was the clear favorite and sort of took up the whole mantle from the other two Oneiroi
actually, addendum because i looked it up to check and the Oneiroi are the sons of Somnus, Hypnos' Roman equivalent, in Greek mythology they are his brothers. the rest of that is accurate though
so to summarize: Thanatos, aroace king, Hypnos, respectful if a bit weird bisexual, Aergia, just hangin' honestly
the twins have been depicted many ways, sometimes old men, sometimes babies, but i think most often they ended up being depicted as epheboi, teenagers
also it is very important that you know that Hypnos has head wings in a lot of his depictions, i forget if they depicted that in Hades but honestly who cares his design slaps either way
onto the most interesting thing for me about Hades game: Zagreus. he's obscure in Greek mythology, like all of Hades' alleged children, Macaria and Melinoe being the two i can remember. some scholars believe Zagreus to actually be Dionysus, because Dionysus also has ties to the underworld, i think in relation to his mother, like he had to rescue her from there or something? kind of a reverse of what Zagreus is trying to do in the game
i.... i think that's all the info i have to dump
i will not advocate for the accuracy of everything in this ramble (especially not the Zagreus/Dionysus bit, the stance among scholars might've changed since i acquired this information lol) but i certainly had fun thank you so much for asking me about this

Completed: Super Lesbian Animal RPG
Yep!
Did you want to see my Twitch recap for last year?
I know, right? Total loser, being in the top 10% for two categories. (To be fair, it's usually that I'm cooking while I have a speed runner on in the background.) Relevant to this image and review is streamer Punchy, pictured above in my top 5 streamers for the year. While primarily known as a speed runner for survival horror games, dude's got a myriad of games that he routinely runs. Like, over 100.
One of those games being "Super Lesbian Animal RPG."
I know. That's a fucking title right there. Instantly curious, I put Punchy on, watching him go through about fifteen minutes of the run. I probably needed less than five to be sold on the game. I've got a certain weakness for RPG Maker games, to begin with. The colorful visuals, mixed sprite/smooth artwork, and catchy music were also sellers. Probably the thing that made me snort-laugh my way into getting this game is one of the main characters sharing a name with me.
Look, man. I only see Allison come up in video games under two categories: localizers needing to fill out names for random Pokémon foes, and localizers just being weird in general (see: "Totally Rad.") Knowing what I know about Japanese, Allison is a pain in the ass in terms of spelling and pronunciation, especially if you throw honorifics into the mix. Given most of my game choices are either Japanese or built in admiration of Japanese games, I just don't see the name come up a lot. So, I was amused it came up here, of all places.
I suppose it could be a reference to Alison Bechdel, now that I think about it…
If the title "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" isn't self-explanatory as to what the game is about, I don't know what is. In slightly expanded terms, it's a game about a fox name Melody who becomes a paladin in order to aid and protect her girlfriend (Allison) while adventuring around the Sapphire Islands. Things go awry after fellow magician and literal cowgirl Claire attempts to power them up and train them, accidentally gaining the attention of both a misanthropic, anthropomorphized VHS cassette tape and the deity long since vanished from their world. What follows is an adventure in sapphic love, undead cowboy aesthetics, winter wonderlands, and some of the greatest collections of color palettes seen since the 1980s.
"Super Lesbian Animal RPG" is also the professional, copyright un-infringing descendant of a title called "Super Lesbian Horse RPG," a "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" fangame. I only bring it up to give some kind of epiphany/explanation for the aesthetics going on here. The main tower, hometown protector Faith, and the main female villain Verena may also remind you of a few characters from that show. So, if you were like, "Hey, these vibes are—" then YES! Yes, the vibes are.
Being an RPG Maker fangame (specifically, RPG Maker VX Ace), the gameplay is pretty intuitive to anyone familiar with this engine or genre. Battles are telegraphed with moving dark, glitchy blotches on screen (although, dens with random encounters are also made available for grinding.) Combat is taken in turns, allowing the player to input commands before the enemy and your party take swings. There are some considerations here that I find both unique and extremely helpful! For example, the game rewards you with using the party members as their role dictates, granting Star Power for actions like Melody healing, Allison and Claire attacking, and fourth party member Jodie defending others and tanking damage. This Star Power allows access to more powerful combat maneuvers, so it's important to get as much as possible to maximize both damage output, defense, and recovery. Additionally, acting as the game wants you to will also adjust the combatants' actions to be most beneficial to you. Like, Melody will always move first when healing, but last when attacking. Similarly, Jodie will also break through enemy defenses before Allison and Claire can attack, allowing them to maximize their damage. It's a super rewarding system, and I appreciate its consistency!
Outside of combat, standard RPG obstacles await the player. This can include challenges like locked doors, ice skating puzzles, bridge manipulation, finding passcodes for safes, and generally what you'd expect for traversal threats. It's not the roughest challenge in the world, but should you need help, the game's creators have your back. (Additionally, lead creative Bobby Schroeder is also on Tumblr, if you want to learn more about her!)
This game really does go out of its way to try and help the player. It offers two difficulty settings (normal and easy), as well as a quest log to help keep track of any pending jobs or story beats. Frankly, I'm tempted to say the game is almost too easy. Like, it was a rare instance to have a character get knocked out. About the biggest threat I faced was a set of side bosses (the VHS tape's sons), and even with them, I was able to squeak by on a first attempt. I also maxed out levels super early, so the final dungeon was more about getting enemies cleared out of the way than actually grinding for strength.
Not that I don't think things aren't trying to kill me! I just think adhering to each character's strengths goes a long, long way. Also, putting the Powerhouse Pin on Melody and having the Amorous Paladin track makes recovering MP a breeze. I've heard rumors of a hard mode being developed, so perhaps this criticism has already been noticed or taken to heart. But, if any tips for hardening the product are needed, nixing the Powerhouse Pin and the Amorous Paladin route as an option would definitely be an easy way to make things harder.
I probably should explain the whole "paladin route" thing, shouldn't I?
The major gameplay style adjustment you make early on is by selecting Melody's paladin specialization of choice. This includes Woodland (granting regen abilities to characters), Amorous (sacrificing Star Power to restore MP or Star Power for your other characters), and Resolute (inflicting damaging seals on enemies.) I haven't experimented with the Woodland or Resolute paths, but considering the amount of money I saved on not having to purchase gobs of healing items, I found what I picked to be pretty darn helpful! I would suspect that Resolute would be the next best option, but maybe I'm just not seeing much value in the Woodland's Nature Nurture ability (healing everybody the amount of health that Melody has.) Or, maybe I see that as a risk, if she gets hurt.
Despite being a stickler for character classes and the roles they play, this game is anything but orthodox. I mean, if the "Lesbian Animal" part of "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" was any indication. It's been a while since I've been as consistently amused with a game's sense of humor as I was with this one! Its characters aren't above calling bullshit on the game's circumstances, and enemies are just as quick at handing sass back. If you have an inborn sense for riffing bad movies and don't mind taking a few potshots, this game will be right up your alley.
Additionally, this is one of very few games that I felt motivated to talk to all NPCs as much as possible. Like, "Tales of Symphonia" got me to pop up to a 50% ratio, and that was only by bribing me with money and goods! Everybody's some degree of weirdo, whether it comes down to capitalist machinations, a family's fascination with world domination (and everyone treating that as cute/sweet), hidden aspirations for competition, or just generally people with urges to do weird things. The NPCs feel very unique, feeding into the motivation to talk with them as much as possible. It's rewarding even before going on missions for them.
Also gotta love an RPG that gives you a quest to get a knife for an 8-year-old, then contemplates on whether or not that's good to do (and even gives the player an exit strategy, if they're narcs.)
Honestly, if I got tired of anybody, it was Melody. But, it's in that way where my own mental defects have made me into a calloused, hardened bitch, so I lack patience with people who succumb to the mind's tyrannical nature. I'm not saying she's not right to have a breakdown or two! It's just one of those things where I go, "Okay, fine. I'll ride out your anxiety attacks/relationship squabbles until you're ready to go again." And then, "Wait, are you seriously being pissy enough to drop some of your most useful skills? GIRL, GET IT TOGETHER."
I want to highlight that the emotions I had were a minor irritant and resolved relatively quickly. Like, I go through this with most RPG leads, if they aren't mute protagonists. It's a part of the cycle. Find a problem -> whine about it -> go solve the problem when no one else will. About the only lead RPG character that didn't trigger that cycle and response for me was "Tales of Vesperia"'s Yuri Lowell, and that's mostly because he reacted to injustice and being pissed off with murder. (It's not the healthiest coping mechanism, I admit! Satisfying, though.)
From a graphical and musical perspective, this game is fantastic. It's a mix of synth instruments and Lisa Frank-esque color schemes alongside smooth illustrations and modern audio samples. Like, if you like "My Little Pony" adjacent palettes, you're gonna like this game. Pretty obvious, considering its development heritage. Approaching this as someone whose favorite furry media includes "Star Fox" games and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" properties, I thought the visual and audio design here was pretty solid! A little unusually colored? Sure. Not quite full sparkledog. At least, nothing that made me cringe like "Dust: An Elysian Tale"'s Fidget. (Though, I may hate that character more for her accidentally getting the player killed in a subquest more than anything else…)
Having zombie cowboy elves is sure unique! Gotta give it up for that call. Can't say I see that every day.
If you'd like some musical sampling, give the following tracks a shot:
Ancient Machine
Scrap Metal
Labyrinth Rave (Original 998 Mix)
Fighting in the 990s
B.A.D.
t r a n s c e n d
Given the game's subject matter, aesthetics, and ease of gameplay, I'm surprised that "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" isn't a Tumblr darling akin to titles like "Dream Daddy" or "Undertale." (Not to call "Undertale" easy, mind you. It could be called "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" for one subplot, though…) I mean, some of the playable characters are even bi and trans! Isn't that worth something? That's at least 3 letters out of LGBT getting represented! Maybe the ratio is lower in other acronyms, but I still think that's gotta count for something!
I never had to think about what it means to be a trans-passing cow prior to this game, but hell. A good game will help you generate those kinds of thoughts. Feel new things.
If you are equally entranced by the bluntness and audaciousness of this title, you can pick it up online for the current price of $14.99. It's often on sale as well, if you're feeling the need to pinch some pennies. But, honestly, for a 16-20 hour game with multiple route replayability? That's a good deal right there.
And if you need a twisted recommendation—this game pairs quite well with "Space Funeral" and "Hylics." Maybe not in the funky appearances or message. Definitely in the RPG Maker games doing cool shit way.

another 10+ year system here 👋, felt like chiming in with the weird 2022 system claim lol. I started using system Terminology 2 years ago, but we didn't form 2 years ago lol.
The thing that happened to ours is we had a small group of alters all oblivious of each other, unknown DID system. and even when we figured out were a system it we still had no idea about those original people, it was just a misanthropic deity (I don't he likes being called a system headmate or alter so ill leave it at that) who made us realize we were plural. until suddenly some of them became undormant and it was like: what do you have?
alter whos been gone for years and no one knew existed: a smoothie
also even back then we were a mainly fictives system :p, since anti endos like to claim fictives are just a "faker" thing.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! 😁
I find this is true for so many systems! Even for people new to the terms, they aren't new to the plurality! It's just that the system community gave language to describe their experiences.

Sorry if me and other anons are overloading you with these asks it's because you've got such good ideas, writing and drawing skills and your doing your AUs which are amazing and we don't want to add anymore pressure on you. Again sorry.
No, you guys are fine! All these asks have actually gotten me back into my Trigun fixation. It used to be just cleaning out my drafts and inbox, but now I’m actually having fun making stuff for it again! Even my Hellsing OC didn’t have this many people asking about her, and I’m so glad that you guys love Ari and my AUs so much! I’m working on putting together an illustration for some Ari lore that should drop soon, too!
I don’t have a problem with you all sending me asks — I just didn’t really vibe with the worm au for whatever reason. Maybe I’m already content with the naga au (which I’ve been sketching all day, lmao), I don’t know. I just didn’t vibe with it. PLEASE don't stop sending me asks about them. You guys are the reason I’m back and I don’t want you to leave.
If it’s more AU content you’d like to see, I’m happy to throw out other AUs I’ve got hidden away! I, oh...oh, god. I have so many. Alternate dimensions, alternate timelines, alternate futures...you name it. They're all shoved into a fun Google Doc because I'm VERY meticulous about how I log my stuff so I don't lose any of it. I'm happy to share the doc when I'm done updating it, but for now I'll list a few of my favorite AUs.
We got...
Gods Walk Among Us: Rather than being used as objects, the PLANTs are worshiped as deities and have more supernatural aspects to them. Because PLANTs are treated much better, they are able to flourish and create large, lush oases for humans to live in. As such, they must periodically withdraw into themselves to replenish their power. While Knives is worshiped, Vash is feared as a dark god, and has become so beaten down by humanity’s treatment of him that he’s almost suicidal. Thankfully, he has at least one person on his side -- his lovely wife Ari.
Kitty AU: Mostly everyone in the show is a cat. Vash and Knives are twin Maine Coons and Ari is a Havana brown owned by Rem, Milly and Meryl are a Turkish Angora and a Siamese who are owned by the sweet old Mr. Bernadelli, Wolfwood is is a black cat who's famous at the local orphanage, the list goes on.
Ocean Man AU: Rather than a desert planet, No Man’s Land is largely covered by water (a la Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet), and PLANTs are large mermaid-like entities called Hydrophytes, which keep the human settlements afloat or sustained underwater. Vash and Knives are more human-like Hydrophytes who can speak for their kind, but they're still BIG BOYS. Ari is now mutated by Hydrophyte DNA instead of PLANT DNA, which gives her Hydrophyte abilities such as speaking to the rest of the species, breathing underwater, etc. It's mainly Ari and Vash navigating everyday life with their spouse being radically different in size compared to them and trying to keep Vash from being hunted down by bounty hunters.
Modernity: A futuristic “modern” No Man’s Land in which PLANTs are used as a source of clean energy. Ari is an orphan unofficially adopted by her mother’s coworker Rem Saverem, and grows up alongside Rem’s officially-adopted children, a pair of Independent PLANTs named Vash and Nai. The children turn to each other after Rem’s death, and form a polycule for several decades. Eventually, Nai’s controlling nature and misanthropic attitude leads him to cripple Vash in an argument, and Ari takes Vash and flees. Nowadays, Vash and Ari are drifters living on the run with Ari taking freelance PLANT servicing jobs to help them get by, while Nai grows his business empire and endlessly searches for them. The couple are forced to flee their apartment after Nai oversteps his boundaries for the thousandth time, and take to living in a trailer while they raise their children.
Sinister Vash, of course. That boy needs no explanation.
Satyr AU, based on this awesome fanfic by @triplesilverstar. On a far-future Earth, humans have gone extinct, with the species of the future being gender-segregated satyrs and nymphs. Children are typically one or the other depending on their gender. Vash and Knives are exceptionally-powerful satyrs, while Ari is a nymph with satyr mutations. Vash and Ari live together on an orchard that they fixed up from scratch, and they are soon blessed with four beautiful hybrid children. Unfortunately, their happiness is shattered by Vash’s past coming back to haunt him, and they are soon targeted by some of the strongest satyrs that Ari has ever seen.
I have more. I have so many more. I have so many that it hurts. AaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

First off, I want to thank you for answering my emergency request, it meant a lot.
Second, I’m still trapped in the airport that might as well be an off brand sea world, I got a runny and stuffy nose, and my period just started.
I have started to document my journey on Snapchat like a off brand, Gen Z, autistic, misanthropic, female David Attenborough where my friends and family are either laughing in hysterics at my pain or are becoming my increasingly concern over myself slowly loosing my sanity.
What deity did I piss off to earn such a punishment? Can I rectify it my sacrificing my fellow prisoners? Can I sacrifice the crying 4 year old for an arepa con queso, just until I can get a plate of my mom’s lechon and arroz con salchicha?
A cousin of mine with a big ass truck that should require a special license to drive because the thing is that damn big, is gonna try and pick me up, hopefully I don’t get trench’s foot trying to get out of here.
Also I’m just picturing Optimus, Ratchet, and Megatron growing increasingly worried and so turned at receiving multiple snapchats a day of their kid ‘jokingly’ contemplating murdering the other people stuck with her (mostly the ones kicking up a fuss and fighting and occasional the crying children throwing tantrums), cannibalism if only to eat something else besides the shitty food, and other disturbing commentaries in the background of a dark selfie with dark and heavy under eye bags framing half crazy eyes that are red from lack of sleep and crying, a result after being stuck at an airport for four fucking days.
Shoot, I didn't see this one! Sorry about that ^^;
Side note: Okay, is it terrible of me to think that Ratchet and Optimus would have a hard time with Snapchat or social media in general? Optimus was a feral thing that was eventually domesticated by the Librarian Prime (aka Alpha Trion), and Ratchet is Ratchet. He got no time for anything else but keeping the base operational, especially with everyone else breaking his shit.
On the other hand, Megatron would eat it up. He vibes as does Soundwave. Dark/gallows humor along with memes? Sold!
But all three would be really understanding. It's a highly stressful situation of a disaster. Mayhem, chaos, and uncertainty eat away at a person. Let alone a group of people trapped in a finite space. Individuals react to stress in a variety of ways...
Optimus: uses his Leo Cullen holomatter to send words of affection and encouragement, and then responds in a deadpan manner to said questions, like "Don't forget to consider your surroundings for an ambush. Maybe make a trap. Perhaps you shall have better luck than Wile E. Coyote on the Roadrunner."
Ratchet: "I know it's a joke, bit. But no! No, no, no! Do you even know about kuru disease from human consumption of infectious tissue!?!"
Megatron: (sends back a snap that swings tabs between the "Human Cannibalism" Wiki page and Binging with Babish: Clay-Roasted Thigh from Hannibal (feat. You Suck at Cooking)): "I have preparations to consider. You shall tell me if it's bussin."

We’ve seen some posts going around recently talking about how alterhumans who think humanity is evil or immoral or shouldn’t exist or should be wiped out are exhibiting unacceptable behavior. And I agree. Misanthropes and nihilists can suck my dick. Making generalizations about anything that expansive and diverse is unacceptable. But the problem is all the posts also lump “alterhumans who think they’re superior to or higher than humanity” under the umbrella of everything I just stated, and it really rubs me the wrong way.
The posts certainly don’t explicitly mention deity or divine alterhumans, but the undertones are there, and I’ve heard this kind of rhetoric enough times to pick up on it. I don’t think I’m intellectually superior to humanity as a whole. I’m definitely not morally superior to them. But being a deity I simply am a higher life form, that’s kind of how it works. I hold no distain for humanity. I understand it’s complexity. I judge everyone as individuals not as a whole. I love observing and interacting with humanity. I love having close relationships with some humans. I definitely don’t love having to live like one, but that’s only because it’s not who I am, not because I have anything against humans.
Yes, there are some divine alterhumans who use their divinity as a lame excuse to harbor hatred for humanity, but that’s not all of us. Claiming that being a higher life form inherently puts you on the same level as being a misanthrope or nihilist is both untrue and offensive. Being higher than humanity is just part of one’s existence, it is not inherently a moral stance.
This kind of thing happens all the time. I know how many in the alterhuman community see divine alterhumans. I have been called selfish, egotistical, self-absorbed, vain and much much worse for being divinekin. Yes, some of that was from outside the community, but most of it was from other alterhumans. It’s a bias that I’m constantly on edge about. So it’s hard not to take being compared to actual assholes as yet another knife in my back from the community I know doesn’t care for me.
Basically, fuck alterhumans who use their identities to shit on humanity, but leave us out of this.
#more than flesh and bone ✨#I’m not too worked about about this honestly#like we said before#it’s nothing new or uncommon#we already didn’t feel welcome in general alterhuman spaces so I guess what difference does this make?#I still felt like talking about this though because why not#otherkin#otherkin community#alterhuman#alterhuman community#actually otherkin#divinekin#deitykin#angelkin#actually divine#factuallydivine#factuallyangelic

Film Friday: In The Mouth of Madness
Another day, another apocalyptic John Carpenter flick. Today, the one on the docket is In The Mouth Of Madness. Initially I thought this one was rather loose as far as inspirations go, but upon doing a rewatch to make sure I'm not talking out of my ass, I found a lot of parallells between Madness and His Impossible Brushstrokes that are fun to think about. Good thing too, because it's officially moved into my brain and is living rent free in my thinky parts. Anyway, on with the show
In The Mouth of Madness came out in 1994 and follows John Trent, as played by Sam Neill. Trent is an insurance fraud investigator, and his most recent case, a publisher claiming that they have straight up lost their star author, Jürgen Prochnow as the enigmatic Sutter Cane, takes Trent to the small town where Cane's books are set, Hobb's End. There is only one problem, Hobb's End is fictional, extant only in Cane's books, and yet, here it is, and its inhabitants all seem to hide their own bloody secrets, in addition to whatever otherworldly force works towards apocalypse around the edges.
Madness is very much a lovecraftian sort of thing. This is both in that there is talk of Old Gods and entities and/or deities that share more in common with cuttlefish than humans working behind the scene, but also in the sense that knowledge can be dangerous, that ignorance is a comfort and a shield for ones sanity. It's a bleak outlook of the world that in lovecraft's days probably evoked anxieties about the limits of modernism and scientific positivism (and Lovecraft's thoroughly documented racism lest we forget.) In the 90's edition, then, it makes sense that Carpenter modernizes the questions in play and keeps the explorations of anxiety but sets his sights on the postmodern.
Trent is, it could be argued, a professional man of reason, perhaps even of truth. His cynicism towards life and disdain for his fellow man marks him as an intellectual of his age as surely as a doctorate would in Lovecraft's day. What can I say, it was the 90's. There's some dark humor to his journey into the impossible because it's a humbling of a supposedly wise character, as horror stories involving sceptics usually are, but I think you can also read something rather presciently wise in this, in that the movie arguably is more about putting up a mirror towards Trent than it is humbling him.
That mirror, of course, is Cane. As dark reflections are want to do, he does more than show Trent in that he amplifies his worst aspects. Cane isn't a cynic or a misanthrope, but something past that. Not only does people not inherently matter, the reality they can more or less agree on do not matter because it is pliable by their similarly meaningless wims. I'd call him a nihilist, but it's more like the super-amplified version of nihilism that people were worried about back in the day. Whatever you call him, Cane is just the worst, and that's before you even start looking into how his writing somehow makes every part of his twisted imagination real, like a cross between Mad Jim Jaspers and a Televangelist. He's distant, myopic, and despite his enlightenedly disconnect from the world, he is unbearably smug about it. In many ways, he's all the worst parts of the 90's that don't involve crashing the comics market.
Anyway, not to bloviate any further on the kind of generational grousing that starts to arrive as the decades of more or less conscious thought starts piling up. The horror in Madness is very 90's carpenter, in that it uses both buildup and some decently grody practical effects, although there's probably more of the Prince Of Darkness style unexpected jumpscares than the masterful tension and FX work of The Thing. There are some profoundly impactful scenes, though, like an early sequence that has Trent discussing business, wholy unaware of danger as a man with an axe approaches him with apparent murderous intent, or a car journey in the darkness that passes a child rapidly aging, or perhaps appearing on different points in his life-long journey as he rides his bicycle through the night.
Now, as to the things in this movie that has inspired His Impossible Brushstrokes, turns out there's a lot. Brushstrokes can be argued to be a modern retelling of Madness, in fact. We have this "smart but kind of an asshole"-characters (Trent/Oscar Skerry) who goes searching for an artist whose works seem to have an odd effect on people (Cane/Tomasz Gildebrant) aided on his journey by an emphatic talented woman (Linda Styles as played by Julie Carmen/Mara.) The main differences seem to be that while Linda is a very 90's "independent business woman who needs no man" character and Mara is more of an open relationship maven gleefully independent from both steady relationships and gainful employment, and the fact that Trent and Cane does not fall in (some sort of) love. In many ways, act 2 and 3 of Brushstrokes is inspired by some of my disappointment of how there just isn't all that much to Cane once we finally get to meet him, and me working in some thoughts about work vs artist and parasocial relationship vs regular relationship in there while I was at it.
There's a lot more to Madness that I haven't gotten around to talking in this one. There's some very House Of Leaves metafiction going on here, and it does Little Town What Obviously Has Something Wrong With It very well. If any of this seems interesting to you, maybe check it out if the fancy should strike you.

I don't know why I keep expecting low-continuity shenanigans episodes when this show is actually very tightly-plotted.
Seems like a fairly low-stakes setup to go do some shenaniga--
Oh. Okay. This guy, uh... this guy has a connection with the club. Alright, guess we're spinning the wheel of supernatural things. is he, or has he been affected by:
1 - Alien robot 2 - Time traveler 3 - Esper 4 - Deity 5 - A secret fifth thing
The show seems almost to be deliberately baiting us into #1, with Haruhi even drawing a connection between this boy's vanishing and the cold case of Ryoko Asakura's vanishing.
It's a solid connection for her to draw. Lived by himself, no contact information, parents conspicuously out of the picture, and then suddenly dropped off the face of the universe? Since Haruhi doesn't buy the official story that Ryoko moved to Canada (nor should she), it makes sense that she'd think this.
Of course, we know what happened to Ryoko even though Haruhi doesn't, so that only makes this even more suspici--
OH
OH SHIT
IT'S THAT GUY
WHAT
I legit did not think we were ever going to see him again. Is this episode going to be about reckoning with the consequences of Haruhi's actions and the effect she has on other people?
I mean. Probably not? This show is Protagonist-Centered Morality to the extreme. The violent misanthrope is literally the center of the universe and surrounded by a supporting cast whose job is to cater to her every whim lest she kill us all. Tonally, this has not thus far been the kind of show where Haruhi learns a valuable lesson and improves herself as a person.
But I'm hooked all the same.

Real J.R (Fully known as Justin Cameron Richard) is the overarching character, better yet, the overarching antagonist in the J.R franchise. Serving as the final "character" when the true secret is discovered. He is known as the creator of his universe and multiverses. Aside being the creator, he is rather fond and grew attached of himself being a villain instead of a hero, possibly due to him being zealous. It's also revealed that all the other J.R's throughout the franchise were just the creator's fictional incarnations or avatars. It's also revealed that Real J.R responsible of countlessly resurrecting his numerous various fictional incarnations after a series of deaths. J.R creates fictional incarnations/avatars of himself out of self-interests. From describing as varieties of mischievous, notorious, villainous humans, to evil, ruthless, chaotic, cataclysmic and misanthropic demonic nor cosmic beings, all with free-will and self-awareness. J.R then started his first, original and dark prophecy. Known as "The Aftermath". Stating that if The Creator Of All dies, all his creations as well will suffer the same fate. The gifts of all natures will rot in decaying death, All beings in life will be destroyed, All Worlds will be ignited in chaos and destruction. The universe will be in eternal blackness with endless silence.
Occupation: The Creator Of All. (Primary Title) Former Prodigy Of Mischief "Universal" Being Of Life And Death The Former Side Of Heroism The True Deity
Quotes: "Fascinating... my fictional-selves are taking action."
"I like acting as a villain. But to be honest... I'm not evil in reality. Just... in my head."
"You absolute fool. Do you think KILLING ME would grant you a happy ending?"
"You know... this computer... is partly MY universe... right?"
"Here's a thing if you're pissing me off. You play with fire and sometimes you'll get burned! ...Do you even know what that means?"
"I assure you. Those J.R's are merely fake incarnations nor avatars of me. Facades... that I control and work on their AI and other stuff for my own ambitions."
Info: The true mastermind behind everything. Creator of universes, Life, Death, Matter and Purpose. As well as creating varieties of himself in anyway he wants them to be. He cannot be physically harmed by all traits of attacks due to him being special. But, there are only two weaknesses of his that are hidden.
Personality: Unlike his fictional incarnations/avatars, who are described from mischievous and infamous to pure evil and chaotic, with the desire of take over the world or cause cataclysmic destruction and death, Real J.R isn't any of those. He isn't an evil nor bad person in reality, but he is considered one in his mind and conscience. Aside from being a creative, self-centered but pessimistic most the time. Although can be comedic at times, he is downright serious. He doesn't like being messed with nor being manipulated. If so, it will cause him to temporarily become angered nor vengeful. He doesn't want to become famous anymore - and for good reason. Real J.R also has a life outside of his place, meaning that he isn't reclusive. He is also presumed to be a bit xenophobic and judgmental as he briefly startled by The Player themself and views their status and experience before interacts about them.
HOW TO FIND HIM (ME):
Step 1: Use all of the protagonists (the ones I created or the one that were brought from others) to make an experience.
Step 2: Defeat all my non-real incarnations (which are fragments of the lock to my entry) If you have defeated all of them, The lock will be stably revealed.
Step 3 (Final Step): Find every last of all the grayish keys that are hidden around my universe. Gather them all to created a grayish colossal key.
Once all three of the main plans are genuinely completed, A secret can be finally unlocked.
Gather all the protagonists and use their experience to create the true controller. YOU.The PLAYER themself.
Once you've revealed the PLAYER, you will fight a penultimate boss called "The J.R-dian". A guardian with all of my fictional incarnations' consciousness into one.
After the penultimate boss's defeat, The entry opens... but - judgement awaits... depending on the good, neutral or evil.
You will meet me and will let me explain all my reasons and purposes. Thus, there is a very rare chance (15%) of a final boss fight to appear.
After hearing my story (aside the fourth-wall breaks), The PLAYER has to make two choices. Spare Or Kill.
If the PLAYER chose spare, Real J.R will continue on with his universe of creativity and fictionality.
If the PLAYER chose kill, Real J.R quotes a variety of his last words before dying. (Similar to the Desk Man's death from FNAF World.) The computer then detects Real J.R's amount of blood, causing the computer itself to permanently shutdown, before implying that all of Real J.R's creations will be eternally erased. The entire room went to pitch black. Leaving the PLAYER themself to live on in endless blackness. As the PLAYER finally kneels down in despair, they disappear into the endless darkness. After five minutes, a message of blood-red text occurred in the screen replying:
"You killed the creator. There is nothing left in this universe now that he's gone. Because of you. Do not return to this game anymore."
The game then shuts itself down. Leaving it unplayable now that there's nothing left.
During the very rare final boss fight. The PLAYER fights Real-J.R in a very intense fight. This is most-likely non-canonical.
If Real-J.R wins, all of The PLAYER's progress will be entirely erased.
If Real-J.R loses, The PLAYER will have to make the same two choices.
If The PLAYER hacks the game, and when reached to the true end, even in a fastest rate of time, Real-J.R detects The PLAYER's hacking antics and then replies that he's very disappointed and upset at The PLAYER. Real J.R then punishes The PLAYER by kicking them out of the game, making them unable to play again. A text message appears, replying:
"Next time, Do not act reckless! I don't care if you known nor seen this before or not!!"
It's likely implied that Real-J.R sent that.

Character Bio - Thistle the Antlerthorn
"All I see is all I dream, animals and tambourines, and all I can hear is night"
Some gods see the affairs of mortals as some bizarre spectacle, a good show that must go on. Not so much Thistle, who sees beauty in all of the unchosen creatures: the rabbit, the rose and the fishes and trees. The squabbles of humans always ends the same, she thinks, they either kiss or kill one another. There's much more drama in the unseen world of flora and fauna.
She is the supernatural nature specialist, an unrepentant misanthrope who will not hesitate to throw a man into the wolf's den to save a few pups. With a thirst for knowledge only matched by her love of all of the land's critters, she nonetheless employs acolytes to carry out research and aid operations targeting the woodlands.
Her one mission is simple: make sure all of mankind knows, the natural order has a ruthless deity on its side.
