Stheno Headcanon: Skewed Perspectives

There is very little known about the true circumstances of Stheno's creation among humans. She herself can certainly not remember it, even if she had any such desire to reflect on the first few decades of her life again.

The closest hint she has is that saying more repeated so often - that she was the epitome to everything men could desire. She can't even distinguish it as something she's simply heard; it has become truth itself for her.

She's never considered questioning this tale of origin because it's only ever lined up with what she's seen and experienced. Ever since she could remember she was just that - desired. For some, it was as something to spoil and love, but it was not always so pure.

She truly does hate men

She might have seen this differently if she lived freely among humans - and not as some doll to be passed down and used. ( Though, with ample time, she was usually the ones using them. )

Her exile to the shapeless isles did not do very much to change her perspective. In fact, she would continue to see the worse of them - those who would wander into strange lands in desperation for her and her sister.

To her, the virtuous ones are among the few; so she has no issue sending those who bow at her feet on impossible quests. Not when all of them would rather claim her for themselves.

Also, being suspicious of men is NOT the same as hating all men and if you say it is you have a fundamental misunderstanding of fear. In current circumstances, men are considered more of a threat mostly because crimes are higher for men, being scared of them isn't wrong, but HATING THEM? Zeke had just gotten off a ten hour shift at the gym, with back to back clients all through the night, he was starting to regret making his job a twenty four hour thing. He’d never change it though. He enjoys helping people far too much, even if that meant suffering a little himself, and with only a few hours until he was back to work, he decided to stop by his favourite breakfast hot spot for some pancakes and an extremely strong cup of coffee.

But as he slid into his favourite booth, it wasn’t long before Zeke was practically passed out asleep, filling the blissful silence of the diner with his thunderous snoring. 

Thankfully he soon jolted awake. Quickly realizing where he was, deeply embarrassed about the whole thing. His eyes wandering up to the waitress, patiently stood, ready to take his order. 

“Oh hi-” he smiled awkwardly, trying to come off as charming as he could “-I’ll take a large, super large cup of your strongest coffee….” he nodded, putting the menu down. “And whatever you recommend….I’m starving.”
