Enjoying painting these darkelves so far. Few bits to go on these, I'll be freehanding symbols for each units shield to distinguish and some snow for their bases to contrast the dark palette.

What's the first mini you ever painted, and do you still have it (original paint job or redone since...)

I do! I painted this elf somewhere around 2018 for a D&D campaign that ended up fizzling. It took me two days and like half the oaints I bought were bad when I opened them but it started everything else. I'm a strong believer in the Duncan Rhodes advice to avoid stripping your minis so your collection becomes a record of your progress.

Mini Painting - Qulathis the Exile

A friend of mine got Cursed City and asked us if we’d like to paint our characters. Having used Amallyn Shadowguide in Blackstone Fortress, and still having my Wood Elf army book from back when Old Kingdom was just “Warhammer”, I jumped at the chance to pick the Wood Elf adjacent Qulathis the Exile.

Mobile magic casters weren't as needed in 8th edition compared to The Old World and so I tracked down some old wood elf characters and mounted the male mage on a 3D printed warhawk, to make him fit in with my gamezone ones. I'm quite happy of the result. I also found a spare pegasus to mount the Bretonnian damsel on, but I'll have to resculpt the cape, it's hindering the side sadle sit.
