I could feel the tears well up in my eyes. My dad isn't mean! He's just acting! Everyone at school always makes fun of me because of my dad's videos. I wish he wasn't a streamer. Maybe then I wouldn't get bullied.. Thankfully it was pick up time and my name got called to go to my car.

I kept my head down walking to my dad's car. The hot metal stung my hand slightly opening the door due to the Texas heat. My f/c backpack slumped to the floor as I slid into my seat in the back. I closed the car door and buckled my seat belt.

"You clicked in?" I looked up watching my dad watch me from the mirror.

"Yes dad." I leaned against the door and wiped my tears away.

"Hey, you okay Junebug?"

"I'm fine." I wouldn't look at him. He was the reason I got made fun of anyway! I heard him sigh and continue to drive home.

"I have to stream today, do you have any homework you need help with?"

"No."

"Alright this isn't gonna cut it. I know somethings up. I'm going to ask again. What's wrong?" I looked at him from my seat. He was watching me through the mirror again.

"WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN ON YOUR STREAMS?! ALL THE KIDS AT SCHOOL MAKE FUN OF ME FOR HAVING A MEAN DAD!" He looked stunned. He didn't say anything for a minute.

"Kids are making fun of you? Because of my online personality?"

"Yes Dad! I get made fun of everyday because of it! Why can't you be nice to people?" I trailed off. He looked a little upset at what I said but it was true.

"I'm sorry y/n... I'll dial it back ok?"

"It's fine dad. I know your fans like it."

"You know what they like more?"

"What?"

"When we play games together on stream!" He smiled at me through the mirror as we pulled into our drive way.

"I thought you didn't want me on your streams anymore? Because of the meanies."

"I think I can make an exception," he winked before continuing, "just don't tell your mother!"

"Dad, Mama will know either way, she watches your videos."

"Fair, eh it doesn't matter!"

I hopped out of the car with my backpack and ran inside as soon as the garage door opened. The excitement running through my veins was too much too handle. Bolting through the house and into my room I threw my bag onto my bed. I changed out of my school uniform and put on some comfy clothes. Dad has a specially made hoodie for me when he has a merch drop so I can have a hoodie that fits me. That being said I put on some leggings and my favorite hoodie.

Peaking my head out of my room I peered out for my dad. Down the hall I saw the bathroom light on. Perfect. I snuck into his office and logged onto his computer. He gave me the password so I could play minecraft.

I opened twitch and setup the stream, you'd think for a 3rd grader this would be hard, but I've watched my dad do it countless times. I started up the stream and watched as people piled into the stream. I was a little short for the desk so I sat on my knees. I pressed the button that goes to the camera.

"Hi guys!" I smiled at the camera. I watched chat seeing a few 'hello's and quite a few 'oh no's. I giggled and pulled myself closer to the desk.

"I wanna play minecraft! So that's what we are going to do!" It wasn't long for a dono to come through the headset.

"Y/n where's your dad? Are you going to get in trouble?"

"Hey! Thanks for the money! Uh Dad's in the bathroom and no I won't get in trouble!"

"What are you doing!?" I felt my dad grab my shoulders as he scared me. I screeched and turned around.

"WHAT THE HELL??"

"Language kiddo!" I groaned as my dad picked me up and sat in his chair sitting me on his knee.

"Minecraft? Really?"

"Yes."

"Alright it's your stream!" I smirked at him and opened up my main world. Throughout the stream Dad helped me get diamonds and even get to the nether! He may not be perfect but he's my dad and I love him. It was nearing 8 pm which is my bed time.

"Alright gremlin, it's bed time. Go brush your teeth why I end stream."

"Awe ok... Bye chat!" I slowly drug myself to the bathroom and sighed. I could hear my dad end his stream as I finished brushing my teeth. The hard wood floor was cold on my feet walking to my room. I pulled my blankets over myself snuggling into the warmth of my bed. Dad made his way over to me and sat next to me.

"Did you have fun on stream today?"

"Yeah!"

"Good! Good night Junebug, I love you." He kissed my forehead and made sure I was tucked in.

"I love you too, Dad! Good night!"

Odette baps him, giggling xerself as he comically falls to his side, before looking down at the controller

It makes Evan squint his eyes, glancing at the doorway, hearing the other manage the kids just fine

“Hey Odes, is this your first party with other gremlins?”

“I’m not a gremlin!”

That answered that, Evan chuckles to himself, glancing at the door again

“How about, we get all the controllers from Bing’s room, and setup a party game on Minecraft? So you can play with any friends coming in?” He suggests, smiling as Odette blinks

“Is that okay?”

“It’s your party”

“Oh. Yeah. We play Minecraft online a lot” xe nods, letting Evan help xer up “Does Bing have a green controller? Oliver likes-likes green stuff, and Azure has euhm, blue eyes and-and-“ listing off the colors and things of xer friends xe’d made as they go off to get game supplies

"Oliver is a good name," Yellow mumbles as he helps set up the TV. Soon the Minecraft server is absolutely packed with not only Odie's friends, but xer family as well, helping do any tasks the kids needed done but found boring.

he likes red Lamborghini aventadors, and cars/ mcr are his special interest! wears lots of leather jackets, and purple and red are his favourite colours! he loves doing his makeup, especially eyeliner / eye shadow. he has black curly hair, is really tall, and has green eyes! he is the lead singer/ guitarist in our in-head band, and has a bright red guitar that he loves very much. his favourite drink is coffee, his room is full of red LED lights that make him really happy. he's obsessed with my chemical romance, especially gerard way and party poison! he really likes streaming/ gaming and has a really cool setup and pc thats all with red lighting. he loves dressing alt/emo/punk, with lots of chains and chockers and loves punk culture! he really likes driving late at night, and it calms him a lot. his favourite games are minecraft and skyrim, and his favourite animals are black cats and peregrine falcons! he's an anger holder and he gets mad a lot, and connects with representations of that. he doesnt like slime or wet things, so those types of stims probably aren't awesome for him!

The title comes up from the bottom of the screen in huge letters, and explodes to bits as soon as Start is pressed.

The game is a top-down exploration game, like the original Zelda but with a pickaxe instead of a sword. The first screen is dominated by a huge machine, some sort of giant smelter? It looks like you can put things into it via a conveyor belt, but Bea doesn't have any items yet.

"WITH MY FACTORY. I CAN MAKE ERASERS. THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT NEED TO BE ERASED."

Bea searches around, smashing rocks with the pickaxe for hunks of ore, and often just picking up junk on the side. Lots of old appliances, enough that she has no room in her inventory for the busted TV set when she finds it!

Even with the inventory full, Bea can still inspect things, and there's plenty of appliances left. Surprisingly, all of them have their name brands intact: Instant Pot, Sunbeam toaster oven, Whirlpool washer/dryer.

When she returns to the machine, sure enough, it's time to start blasting! You get a close up of each object as it's sent down to the blasting chamber to be hit with a beam of heat! The ray intensifies and the player is treated to a spectacular exploding (or melting) of pixels!

"WOOOOO, BLASTING MACHIIIINE!" Bea kicks up her legs, then scrambles as she almost knocks down her setup

"Is this all you do? I'd be pretty content about that actually"

All around the machine are barriers that Bea can now overcome with her new tools: the Crow Bar lets her open up a boarded-up door in a decrepit house, and there’s a crevice west of this screen that can be jumped with the frog boots.

When the door is opened, monsters start to stream out— gray zombies with broken TVs for heads!

SugaGlydah also screms because good lord Baconnaise: That was some real terror right there Bea HNV: Watch! Yourself! Don’t fall off of the shelf!

"I'm, I'm-" She runs away as quickly as she can to the point she can hit them with the snake chain.

It’s not a strong weapon at all; one of them goes down after five hits, but there’s still six crowding around her!

DueyDecimal: What kind of animal can she turn into a shotgun?? Glockroach: Just smash two normal guns together, boom, shotgun

"Actually my pickaxe is better agains them than anything, oddly. However I am going to be dead soon I should probably flee"

HNV: Catch a bird, birdshotgun

One of the zombies gets a little running start and dashes at Bea's character, tackling him to the ground!

Three more zombies launch themselves into the pile, and Bea's character is now being carried by the four of them-- not back into the house, but toward the spawning area, where the machine is located.

"HEYYY everyone! No hard feelings, right?? I mean how could I have known I was blastin' one of your heads before, ya know, we all make mistakes and if we fry we can never correct 'em!"

Back at the Blasting Machine (as one would assume it's called), the zombies hold Bea's character in the air as one of them rummages through the junk heaps and finds yet another TV; then they load the player character and the TV onto the conveyor belt.

The Machine activates, and Bea's character pops out as another grey-skinned zombie... and shuffles off with the rest.

There's no 'game over' screen, though; the game simply starts again, with a new character sprite entering the junkyard! This one seems to be a female character, or at least has twin ponytails.

"This has been really. Hm. It's really BEEN, hasn't it? It sure has been here and existed for us to see it. I hope. And I think it deserves a whole nother session to itself because it looks like there's a lot there, but DAMN."

★ It all began at a PC café.

★ (Y/N) was a regular since it was a nice change from their all-too-familiar room and the coffee and pastries were the best.

★ On the other hand, this is Sapnap’s first time at a PC café. 

★ Usually, he would just use the setup he has at home but he figured that he might as well try it at least once.

★ Plus the café was having special where first-timers get their first hour and snacks free

★ And who was he to decline free shit?

★ (Y/N) and Sapnap crossed paths when he sat behind them playing Minecraft, (Y/N) noticed, and (Y/N) offered to join him.

★ The two bonded over the game and played together until they were out of money and remembered “wait, we could just use the pcs we have at home and keep this party going”

★ They get up to head to their respective homes and that’s when the height difference was noticed.

★ “Oh my god that’s fucking adorable.”, Sapnap thought.

★ Cue the eyebrow raise from (Y/N)

★ “Shit I said that out loud.”

★Both of them continue to hang out as friends for months.

★ One of these hang-outs, they were going down a really crowded sidewalk.

★ They had to hold hands so they didn’t lose each other. (cha cha real smooth)

★ But in a particularly dense part of the mass of people, (Y/N) was pushed out into the street.

‘Who’s idea was it to go here? We should’ve gone at a different time and avoided all this-’, Sapnap’s thoughts were interrupted by the lack of warmth in his left hand. ‘Shit, where’s (Y/N)?’, Sapnap panics and tries to crane his neck to find them in the crowd, ‘Damn them and their smallness.’

Finally, he sees them getting pushed around and makes his way towards them. Nick was almost to their side when (Y/N) gets pushed out into the road. They stumble and fall pretty bad, hitting their head. Nick decides to forgo ‘Excuse me’s and ‘Sorry’s; he just needs to get to them before they get hurt further.

(Y/N) manages to sit up, disgruntled and loopy; not registering the speeding car headed their way. ‘Oh no. Move. Move. Fuck, fuck, shit, shit’, Sapnap’s body goes into autopilot and he lunges forward, grabbing (Y/N) to his chest, the inertia causing him to fall back on to the sidewalk. “Holy fuck, that was close.’, he lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, “Are you alright? We should get to the doctor.”

★ Right then, it happened.

★The soulmate connection within clicked.

★ After a visit from to the hospital, they decided to make it official with a cute date at home since (Y/N) needed their rest.

★ “What’s up, what’s so funny?” “This is the greatest day of my life and I almost got fucking run over today.”

“To think, we were family. That I trusted you, believed you, and defended you!”, (Y/N) looked at Eret with such disdain and hurt that he flinched. “I’m sorry...”, he began, “It was never meant to be.”

BOOM!

What was supposed be one crater turned into a minefield of explosions. Wilbur was knocked back, but (Y/N) was quick to act and pulled Wilbur away from the other blasts. Tommy and Tubbo were already running, with Tommy leading the way. (Y/N) caught Sapnap aiming a crossbow in Wilbur’s direction and threw themself into the way, much to Wilbur’s dismay.

Their health quickly dropped, but they fought through the pain and turned to fire back at Sapnap. Their arrow hit the mark and distracted him enough to get away.

In the bunker Tommy made, they took a moment to heal themselves. Wilbur finished wrapping up the bandages around (Y/N)’s back and sat down next to them. “Thank you.”, he handed them some bread, “For saving me back there.” (Y/N) gladly accepted the food and gave him a genuine smile, “Hey, I’m with you ‘till the end of the line. Don’t worry about it. I know you would do the same for me”

“Hey guys, I think you should check the chat.”, Tubbo interjected.

The two did just that and they saw it.

Last Monday of the Week 2021-12-27

Last Monday of the year baybee. Not a single holiday plan has panned out but it's fine because I saw a lot of insects. Light on multimedia this week because I'm in a car.

Watching: Nothing noteworthy!

Listening: Freshlyground is a band I haven't really listened to since high school and I don't know why, they're fine. I've seen them live a couple times. Ivana came on the radio and it was notable mostly because it came on near some cool geology.

Reading: Finished Blindsight by Peter Watts in two big reading sessions. Hell of a book. Spec Fic is great because if you're enough of a science nerd it feels like what it must be like to read books when you've read the Bible or something. You get the references. Szpindel and Cunningham make me once again wish I could do more extrasensory/sense expansion stuff, I need to get around to some of my more ambitious broad-spectrum sensing designs.

Making: Lots of scenery and macro photography out here in the very wet desert, including a few encounters with some notable diptera. Once I'm back in civilization tomorrow I can hopefully sort those out.

Playing: I finally got my Minecraft setup going again, my old-ass launcher was using flags that Do Not Exist in modern Java. Love that the Gentoo wiki entry on Java has a whole section on debugging Minecraft. So very pleased with the new Mountain Generation algorithms, they're approaching the level of grand scale I want from a game like Minecraft.

Computer Stuff: Pitch for Calibre, the Ebook organizer, I was frantically shoving ebooks into my kindle for this trip and Calibre makes that a little more manageable. In particular it converts between Epub and Mobi well, which is essential since Kindles don't take Epub.

- They both take a month-ish hiatus from posting while on their honeymoon and on their first stream back the comments are all just "Congratulations!" and stuff and I love these fictional fans so much like,, they are so supportive:)

- They got sent plushes by a fan and the plushes now sit on a shelf right behind their chairs so they are viewable in streams/videos. The one named after Race's (Racer) is a horse and Albert's (Red) is a little red dog - not like clifford no copyright here it's more like a pinkish hue ((off topic but Davey has a stuffed snake even if he isn't on youtube)).

- Sometimes when they aren't playing in their normal setup like say maybe in the living room on the ground Albert would be sitting so his back faces the couch and Race in between his legs and they just,, play like that. They are so sickenly cute together and I love them.

- honestly that post where albert gets cancelled for not being super affectionate???? that person has clearly never watched a red and racer stream cause albert is honestly worse than race most of the time. he doesn’t even always want affection, he just has an inherent need to be touching all the time so sometimes he’ll reach back and just put his hand on race’s shoulder for a second so he knows he’s still there. - oh like half the games they stream are just,,,,, so off beat sometimes? like race more than albert cause race doesn’t understand video games anyway but sometimes they’ll play extra random games for charity streams and sometimes they’re just in a weird mood. once they played the shrek 2 video game on stream cause les wouldn’t stop begging them

- i’m also a very big fan of these fiction fans 😭 they’re so pure honestly. tbf they’re pretty solidly based on a combo of unus annus, jenna and julien and like,,,,, dylan is not in trouble fans?? fairly non-problematic and has a really good level of interaction between the creators and their fans. also all the fans are COMPLETELY willing to just flame the creator and i respect it. as for the honeymoon, they’re semi-active on twitter and instagram but they’re offline for the most part. they’d miss the interaction too much if they were offline completely, but it was nice to have time away together. also albert got all covered in freckles while they were on their honeymoon and race is even more blonde the simps are loosing their shit

- i’m imagining a pretty stereotypical sky-blue horse plush and a boxer-mix type dog thats just every shade of red. davey’s snake is dark blue and purple. (davey’s not a youtuber, but jack, his boyfriend, is an artist on youtube that streams with race and albert sometimes and he ropes davey into playing with them sometimes. absolutely everyone loves davey and begs them to give him stuff they send and to have him made a channel, so jack made sure davey got his snake)

- yeah that’s fairly accurate. for 1 million subs on twitch they did a high school musical watch party and watched all 3 movies with the whole among us gang (aka race, al, jack, davey, jojo, spot, crutchie, specs, romeo and elmer) and race was sitting between albert legs on the floor in front of the couch. (jack was sitting on the couch with davey’s legs in his lap, spot and elmer are next to eachother on the loveseat with spot’s arm around elmer’s shoulders, specs and romeo are sprawled on the floor holding hands and jojo and crutchie are having an ace/aro gremlin party on the armchair)

- they’ve also played hours of elder scrolls while sitting like that on stream and it makes for several very very cute moments. most of the time when they sit like that it’s either race just watching al play or al helping race figure the game out which is also very cute

born in cheonan, south korea to two very affectionate parents and an older sister, yohan was the name given to the first boy of the hwa’s; a small loving family who moved to australia two years after his birth.

the reason for this is that his mom was promoted to become the director of a renowned gaming company that was opening its new headquarters in sydney. his father is a software engineer specialised in videogames development who works under the same company.

his sister is a graphic designer and she, too, is currently working with them in the multimedia and design area. she’s almost 7 years older than him and ever since they were kids, she took a protective role over yohan.

it was easy for yohan to get really invested in videogames from a young age, after all, his parents would often bring home their newest releases as well as games from other various companies (his father liked to play a lot as well and he himself was a fan of many games, mostly the nintendo classics).

fast forward to his teenage years; he was actually good at school, not the best, but definitely did good enough to not worry his parents with his grades. sports always piqued his interest. he was part of the basketball team and would use his skateboard often to get to school (which would earn him earfuls from the teachers saying how dangerous it was.) other than that, he was an active member in the gaming club (shocking, i know).

at 14 he got his first close up at what esports were like after participating in a tournament of counter strike, junior division. his team (which was made up by members from the gaming club) won and he got to watch matches from other divisions, only growing more and more fascinated about the whole thing. the idea of becoming a professional gamer didn’t seem so far fetched then.

around late 2011, the same year twitch started as what it is, yohan found the platform and immediately grew curious about it. it was fascinating to watch other people play, thus it didn’t take him long to start his own channel under the username “chance” right after he turned 15. it took him a while to find his own pace there, not quite sure of what to say or how to act. eventually, he saw that the less reserved and cautious he was, the more people watched and liked his stream, so from then on, he stopped worrying about what ifs and what people would think about him.

this is a double edged sword: as his popularity grows, he becomes more and more brutally honest and less mindful of the consequences his words and actions could have. whereas he quickly became one of the public’s favorites, he was also viewed as someone potentially problematic that could bring a bad reputation to the community, though this only seemed to be a prejudice from other gamers and public figures.

he doesn’t care, however, and chance was pretty dead set on keep doing his thing. he was also really active in tournaments, either small or big, and other teams would often reach out for him to fill in. he rarely ever turned down an opportunity and even though they didn’t always win, participating was more than enough for him to gain the favor of the audience.

when he was 18, a formal contract to be part of the chiefs esports club (a recently founded professional club with teams competing in counter-strike: global offensive and league of legends based in australia) was presented to him and of course he signed.

between his streams, which had become a tri-weekly kind of deal, and the “training” with his teammates the rest of the days, it was clear that yohan wasn’t in the slightest interested to pursue a higher education, and honestly his parents didn’t complain about it as he was already doing well on his own. nonetheless, his sister was concerned and pushed him to at least take a couple of online classes (which he did, but mostly to learn how to edit videos and understand audio aspects to improve the quality of his streams.)

around this time, nasty rumours about his parents buying his way into the club were spread which earned him the dislike of some of his teammates. it was the first time yohan ever encountered a situation like that but thanks to the management, he was able to move past that. the oceanic pro league was founded in 2015, a professional league of legends competition, and the chiefs esports club participated and won. this helped the rumours around him disperse for he proved his skills were what put him into the team. sadly, he left the club a year later.

for the next couple of years, he focused on his stream and growing his community. yohan was invited to different events, tournaments and other collaborations during this time and he was always excited for them. he even decided to create a youtube channel to upload highlights and vlogs.

then, the overwatch league was announced (chance quickly became addicted to this game and even reached top 500 in competitive) and he was contacted by the seoul team (seoul dynasty) to become part of their team for the inaugural season. like that, at 21, yohan packed his bags and moved to south korea.

between 2017 and 2019, he was part of the team as dps. he had to change his schedule yet again to stream only on the weekends and with some restrictions his contract established (like not talking about the team or the league live). some of his fans voiced their dislike for this new attitude of his, which yohan brushed with a roll of the eyes and a joke.

however, before the 2020 season started and the team was on break, chance was one day streaming and offhandedly said a comment about another player in the league which he had a match with. this caused a really big commotion online and several pro-gamers were rubbed the wrong way about his words (to this day, he still doesn’t know what was so wrong about calling out someone t-bagging him in a pro game) and his reputation was admittedly tarnished. the seoul dynasty’s management team decided that it was better to let him go.

that’s how last year, chance moved into his current apartment after looking online for a new place to live.

in the present, he streams 5 days a week a variety of games and his schedule varies, some days he goes live in the mornings and other days really late at night. he has a steady income from various sponsorships as well as the monetization of his youtube channel, which he updates twice a week.

Well, that was fun!  Lots of cute little vignettes.  Not much plot-related, but that’s why they’re shorts, isn’t it?  They’re just meant to be for fun.

They weren’t just for fun, though.  That recurring deer-shaped hole and the busted-down door set something up that wasn’t paid off during the shorts themselves.  Teasers for season 2?  I’m going to assume so, and color me intrigued.  I wonder what it is.  Is it something that circumvents the normal rules of the train?  How’s it making that hole in things?  Is it just walking through the walls?  Interesting teaser.

The Movie Theater Car was my favorite short, for that awesome bit of horror.  Marvelously creepy and effective setup.  The Tech Support Car is a close second, for being so funny and relatable.  I liked the shorts overall, though a couple of them were just like “Yeah, okay, stretch out this one gag for two minutes, I get it.”

One Break Later

I feel like I'm starting to mellow out finally... putting the past behind me and focusing on the friends and family I have right now helps clear my mind and remind me that I am still loved the way I am.

I've made a surprising number of friends, and sailing the seas with them has only reminded me how much fun sailing activities are when everyone's working towards a goal. Speaking of, I should be thinking about what I want to do and focus on once I start captaining. I already know what the ship should look like, but running around from island to island grabbing captains and ocean crawlers with no sense of purpose isn't exactly fun either. Perhaps some of the crew will want gold...?

My OBS setup needs a tuneup. It's geared entirely towards Minecraft and I won't be streaming Minecraft anything for a while. More screenshots of games I have played are in order. I guess I should start there. Oh and Drakkhen music. Water Day cycle sounds calming, but it's not the theme I'd be going for when sailing.

One last thing. I tend to write novels for blog posts already anyway. Perhaps my adventures would work great in a novel form...? With nothing but cliff notes, a story could be narrated or written when I have time. And there's always time in the car to sing and practice voice, or narrate a story.
