the millennium (i can't spell that word) project is literally a eugenics program that the Oans want to run on Earth to evolve/improve humans
the heroes are for it b/c they respect the authority of the oans for some fucking reason
also choosing 10 people as the starting breeders for yer eugenics program is uh… a rather small number
like really fucking small for 'advancing' the whole species
and they don't even guarantee that the whole 10 people they chose are alive and all have corporeal bodies by the time the New Guardians start
also, they didn't ask the people of Earth first if humanity would like to be groomed into future space police
they don't even pick people who are all open to the idea of being part of a eugenics breeding program, they're just picking fuckers based on their genes. And they very much arent explaining it as a eugenics program when it is when you look at the New Guardian's mission statement
but the heroes are cool with this. Cool with the idea of Earth becoming a future home of the Guardians b/c the space police are on the side of the good guys so their backers must be ok too
yeah, the Oans aren't telling people that the advancement of the human race means a fucking eugenics program which is slightly better than fuckers knowing. Also, fuckers are using scare tactics to get the folks they want in the breeding program who aren't interested in 'advancing the human race'
ALso love how racist DC is about Asians in its comics at all times. Just constantly especially in the 80s. And the 60s. And in 1999...
…i don't believe that the governments of Earth recognize the authority of the Green Lantern Corps as, like, a legitimate law enforcement agency from space. Pretty sure everyone just thinks about them as superheroes ie costumed vigilantes but ok
heheheeh. Ted thinks Lt Fisher who's been blackmailing him is with the Manhunters blackmailing superheroes in general and came to his office to beat his ass
Ted even if Lt Fisher isn't a Manhunter you should still beat his ass for blackmailing you.
I wanna see more of Ted beating the shit out of cops. It's wonderful, he should get to do it more often
Ted backhands Lt Fisher almost across the damn room. I love it. Let Ted fight more cops!
Yes, Ted, you should have just beat Lt Fisher's ass and told him to go fuck himself the first time he tried to blackmail you. If he's gonna do a criminal act to force you to do dirty work for the police, there's nothing stopping you from beating his ass like any other criminal
also, some of this is plot stuff relevant to Ted's solo run and referenced in it, I just don't like doing supplemental reading for a story. B/c if it was important it would have been included in the main story
so normal human-looking lady and the smurf are both oans just different sexes. b/c we couldn't have sexy smurf ladies i guess
Why did the Oans pick an explicitly racist White South African for their eugenics program to 'advance the human race'?
they also picked a gay man for their eugenics breeding program. I guess they're hoping he runs into transdudes who want to be bred?
This eugenics program is a bit slapdash and I can see all the reasons it failed
i guess that's what happens when yer sexes have been living apart for billions of years and they likely use machines to breed
they also picked a man for their eugenics program who has a wife and kids, and told him to leave his family to join their project…
if yall want him for his genes and shit... he could fuck his wife? and make more kids?

#OTD in 1988 – A special design was circulated for the 'Dublin Millennium', although Dublin is thought to have been founded by the Vikings in around 841 – the issue was regarded for publicity and collectors only.
The millennium coin was the first decimal to feature words on it | Obverse: Cláirseach (Celtic harp), Lettering: éIRe 1988. Reverse:  the word ‘Dublin’ and ‘Áth Cliat, with the Coat of Arms for Dublin. The coin was designed by Tom Ryan. Not many of these limited edition coins were produced. Production of fifty pence coins ceased between 1988 and 1996 because of previous oversupply and because of…

so weird how 2028 is gonna be a leap year. just doesn't seem right
#like 2000 gives SUCH leap year vibes#and 2020. and 2024#pretty much every leap year of the 21st century so far fits the vibes#actually tbh 2008 doesn't give me as much vibes. maybe it's the 8#tbf 2032 doesn't give me the vibes either#2036 sort of does and 2040 is SO leap year vibes#1996 doesn't really. 1992?? i would've never thought that was a leap year#1988 maybe? 1984 definitely#1972 not so much#1968 maybe. i can get behind it. maybe it is the 8#but then 1948 is so leap year??#but you're telling me 1952 was a leap year? that's possibly the least leap year year I've ever heard of#i feel like it's the ones that end on 4 and 0 that give the most vibes. but then 1960 doesn't scream leap year to me#2060 however.....#okay in conclusion I'd say the most leap year year of all time to me is 2000. maybe i'm biased.#i mean it's a new decade. new century. new millennium. and it's even a leap year#i mean i guess 1000 also was#okay hang on. 1200 was such a leap year. 1300 though??? not getting the vibes#1484 i am not getting vibes. not for 1760 either. 1664 is the most leap year I've ever seen in my life#like what if you got 4 and timesed it by itself. and then got another 4 and added another 4 and then timesed that by itself#and then put them next to each other. and got 1664. 1664 invented leap years#actually when were they invented#okay wait if you can't divide a century year by 400 then it's not a leap year? so 2100 won't be. what then#just. 365 days?? i can't keep up with this#okay stop listing numbers#ramble

kamurocho has never looked as good as it did in 1988. that whole yakuza 0 period has such a grimy glamour that the city just moved away from once the millennium tower was built — not as a result of the series messing up the art, but in a very real world way where the real estate developers come in and polish all the life out of a place. it's cleaner and more corporate and probably legitimately safer by the time we get to lost judgment, but man dipping back into the first game in the series really underlines how much was lost along the way. i had thought it was just nostalgia, but the nice thing about this series existing at all period simultaneously is that i *can* return to 1988. unlike the real world, you *can* go home again, and see that, no, it's not just the hazy glow of fond memories, there actually *is* a marked difference in the place

Character Profile: Gregorio de la Vega and Hugh Dawkins (Extraño and Tasmanian Devil)
I was thinking that it's been too long since I've done a character profile, and then I realized that I don't think I've ever posted about DC's CANONICALLY MARRIED, HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT DILFS, a.k.a. Wizard Daddy and his furry husband. I'm so sorry. I've failed you all.
ANYWAY MEET GREGORIO AND HUGH:
Tumblr media
Gregorio (on the right) is the first out superhero in comics, ever, from before the Comics Code even allowed gay characters. Hugh is DC's third gay superhero (Pied Piper came out a year before him) and the first canonically queer member of the Justice League. See? Historically significant!
CONTENT WARNING: Homophobia, racial stereotypes, attempted suicide, HIV/AIDS, and some particularly gory fridging (Hugh got better).
Gregorio de la Vega first appeared in Millennium #2. Now, they never actually use the word "gay" in the eight issue Millennium miniseries, but, well...
Tumblr media
No, seriously, despite the fact that they never use words like "gay" or "homosexual" in the pages of the comic itself, the art and dialogue make Gregorio's sexuality very clear - and in case that wasn't enough, the editors do use the word "gay" in the letter columns.
Millennium was an event in which the Guardians and the Zamarons identified a group of diverse humans to be "the vanguard of human evolution" and gave them all superpowers. Gregorio is hanging out in a cantina in Peru when they show up to give him the news:
Tumblr media
He's calling himself a fruit do you get it??? Honestly I love him so much. He's so extra.
I want to emphasize again how groundbreaking Gregorio is. Like, yes, obviously he is a raging stereotype and arguably a problematic one. But this was 1988. The Comics Code Authority would not be updated to permit queer characters until the following year (probably because of Gregorio, in large part). The fact that he existed at all, and not cloaked in layers upon layers of subtext, was a huge step forward. No, he's not perfect, but when you're the only canonically queer superhero in mainstream comics, that's an impossible ask.
Anyway. Gregorio's not super into the idea of being a main character at first, but after a self-loathing suicide attempt (Wally saves him), he decides fuck it, why not be a superhero, and joins the team that will become the New Guardians. He's granted his superpowers, which are generic magic ones, and takes the codename Extraño.
Unfortunately, in the spinoff series that followed Millennium, New Guardians, things get...uh...kind of rough. By which I mean that a) the original writer left, b) the new writer dialed Gregorio's gay stereotyping waaay back in favor of, um, Latino stereotyping instead (he stops calling everyone "honey" and starts calling them "amigo"), and c) the team is attacked by the Hemo-Goblin, an HIV-positive white supremacist vampire. Yes, really. It's fucking awful.
The Hemo-Goblin scratches Gregorio and bites Jet, a Black woman on the team. They both subsequently test positive for HIV. There are many letters from fans pointing out that it's nearly impossible to contract HIV that way, but the editors insisted that actually it was totally plausible, and then implied that probably Gregorio already had HIV because he was gay (even though he had tested negative earlier in the book). Then Jet dies. Again: it's fucking awful.
New Guardians was canceled soon after that and Gregorio pretty much disappeared. By the 2000s, he was viewed as basically an embarrassment, if anyone even remembered him at all: so stereotypical, so flamboyant, so offensive, so cringe. In the Love Is Love anthology, everyone's least favorite human Dan DiDio wrote a story where he claimed that Extraño died of AIDS back in the 80s, which...literally wasn't true??? The publisher of the goddamn company and even he assumed that the Cringey Stereotype must have died the Stereotypical Death.
And then in 2016, Gregorio got a makeover, courtesy of Steve Orlando and Fernando Blanco:
Tumblr media
HELLO.
Yeah, so Gregorio is a silver fox now who hangs out with Apollo and Midnighter, does wizard shit, and lives in Lima with his husband and their adopted daughter. SO LET'S TALK ABOUT THAT HUSBAND:
Tumblr media
Could you tell he's Australian???
Hugh Dawkins, a.k.a. Tasmanian Devil (no relation to the Looney Tunes character except that they are both owned by WB and, obviously, Tasmanian) actually first appeared in the Super Friends tie-in comics to the cartoon of the same name, in 1977, as part of a plotline where the Justice League teamed up with a bunch of international superheroes.
As you can see above, Hugh, like the other international superheroes, is a massive stereotype. He's also a were-Tasmanian devil who can grow really big, like many Australians. (Even though he's been around for 50 years, there are very few panels of Hugh in human form, but if you need to know for reasons of all the fanfic I hope you are about to write: he's blond.)
In the late 80s, Hugh and the other international superheroes from this story were incorporated into the main DCU as a team called the Global Guardians. They became occasional supporting characters to the various Justice League International books, and some of them joined various Justice League branches. Others had random cameos here and there, and in a 1992 issue of Justice League Quarterly, Hugh's random cameo involved casually mentioning that he is gay:
Tumblr media
Again, this is a big deal. It's only 1992, meaning the only canonically queer superheroes in mainstream comics are Extraño (1988), Pied Piper (1991), and Northstar (1992). And this is a Justice League book. AND IT'S 1992. When Hugh talks about things being hateful for gays, he's likely referring to the virulent homophobia in Tasmania at the time (homosexuality wouldn't be decriminalized there for another five years).
Which means it was also a big deal that Hugh went on to join the European branch of the Justice League shortly after this, making him the first canonically queer member of any branch of the League. Of course, his sexuality was never mentioned during the year and a half he was on the team...or in any comic...until 2006. And then it was a vaguely homophobic joke involving Hal Jordan. But still!
(There is a panel that I SWEAR exists from the JLI era of Hugh describing a total bullshit version of his origin which granted him "the power of 106 Tasmanian devils!" which I cannot for the life of me find but was the first thing that made me fall in love with this character. If you stumble across it, please let me know what issue number it is?)
Hugh then had the misfortune of next appearing...sort of...in the infamously awful Cry for Justice in 2009. I say sort of because it's revealed that the villain, Prometheus, has skinned him and turned him into a rug. So we only see his skin. The late 2000s were really, really rough, guys.
However, a year later he appeared in the Starman/Congorilla special and he was totally fine? Don't ask me how. Gorillas were involved. The issue ended with the possibility of him and Starman (the Mikaal Tomas version) hooking up, but then the New 52 happened, so that never came to anything.
...BUT WHO CARES, BECAUSE NOW HE'S MARRIED TO GREGORIO AND THEY HAVE A DAUGHTER AND THEY ARE IN LOVE.
Tumblr media
The nickname! The clutching! I'm dying.
Tumblr media
Did I mention the canon threesome with John Constantine?
Tumblr media
HUGH LOVES HIS RIDICULOUS HUSBAND SO MUCH. Tragically the JLQ only showed up in these two stories but all the baby queer superheroes in the DCU call Gregorio "Tio" and it makes me want to weep. HE WAS ALL ALONE IN 1988 AND NOW HE HAS A FAMILY. I AM VERKLEMPT. 😭😭😭
Unfortunately Gregorio and Hugh are pretty much relegated to occasionally appearing in Pride specials these days, but maybe if we all wish really hard, DC will let Steve Orlando or Andrew Wheeler write a miniseries about how they met and fell in love. I think Nick Robles should draw it.
ANYWAY I LOVE THESE HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT HUSBANDS, THE END.

Horror Short Films You Can Watch For Free - Right Now!
Just a 'small' post collecting some less well known horror short films that you can find mostly on youtube & vimeo! All worth a look!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
SUNGAZER 9min, 2020 (You'll have to log in to vimeo to watch this one!) "A short, wordless horror film about the terrors lurking just beyond the veil of reality." - Or, a man waits, and performs a ritual. Wicked atmospheric, manages to really paint a world despite the run-time. Looks great as well. [TW: flashing lights, body horror, harsh noise]
Tumblr media
The Color Out of Space 5min, 2017 "A meteorite, strange vegetation, a colour: an experimental take on H.P. Lovecraft's spiral into madness, shot with a vintage camera on truly unique LomoChrome 16mm film." <- All accurate! Eerie little film.
Tumblr media
My House Walk-through: 12min, 2016
Short, sweet, and unnerving!! The person who made this has done a tonne of other (more classical) 'internet horror' shorts, but this is a really wonderful & understated piece. Visually it feels very PT inspired, but its even more about atmosphere and repetition. Worth checking out the making of as well, pretty much the whole thing was done practically!! [TW: unsanitary conditions, blood]
Tumblr media
Possibly in Michigan 12min, 1983
Cecilia Condit mostly does weird, dreamy short films. They have a kind of cake with a worm inside feeling, if you get me; things are rotting inside. This one is a cannibal musical! [TW: cannibalism, unreality, insects, murder, animal death]
Tumblr media
The Black Tower 23min, 1987
More unsettling than scary. A man finds himself followed by a mysterious building. I really love how this one gets built up visually. The most like a tma episode out of all of these, or something out of Blue Jam. You can read more stuff about it here! [TW: unreality, talk of mental institutions, disordered eating]
Tumblr media
Heck 29min, 2020 If you've seen any of these, I think it'll probably be this one. Its the short that originally inspired Skinamarink. I personally kind of prefer this. Digitally gritty and mean. [TW: Same warnings as skinamarink for the most part, there's a kid in danger, a little body horror].
Tumblr media
Juliet in Paris 18min, 1967
Juliet moves to Paris for college, is lonely, and keeps losing blood. Kind of a vampire thing? But also not a vampire thing. Vibes and vignette heavy.
[TW: blood, animal death, self harm]
Tumblr media
Dawn of an Evil Millennium 20min, 1988 (in 3 parts!)
A palette cleanser! Getting a honourary nomination through me hearing about it on a found footage podcast (lol). A trailer for an 18hr movie that doesn't exist; staring demons, 'olds mobiles', space-travel and cops. Deeply 80s, kind of ooey-gooey, pretty fun! [TW: some vomiting, a lot of fake blood gets splashed about]
Thanks for reading!

An Abbreviated History of Mecha Part 3.2: Condition Green (1986-1990)
Tumblr media
Welcome back to An Abbreviated History of Mecha! Last time, we covered the first half of the 80's with a bit too much of a focus on the works of one Ryousuke Takahashi. If you remember from the last post, I also covered one series in particular: Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I'm bringing it up here so that it'll be fresh in your head: Galactic Heroes would be one of many Original Video Animation (OVA) series that would be released in this time.
It should also be noted that, unlike last time, there would be a new medium for mecha stories to flourish in: video games! While video games existed at least since the late 70's, it would be in the 80's where they would become mainstream.
Anyways, let's get down to business. Now, before I throw each and every one of you into the bay!!
The Five Star Stories (1986)
Tumblr media
Created by Mamoru Nagano, the Five Star Stories would be his first major solo project after leaving Sunrise due to the higher-ups constantly blue-balling him. Covering at least five books and a couple of OVAs, the Five Star Stories is one of the true classics of the canon of mecha.
Now if you want to get an inkling of what he did before the Five Star Stories? I'll cover that next time.
Metal Armor Dragonar (1987)
Tumblr media
Coming off the heels of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, Sunrise was eager to fill in the void that Gundam left in its wake. And that's where Metal Armor Dragonar comes in. While I felt weird referring to Layzner as being Gundam-like, here I don't. Dragonnar was made first and foremost to fill in for Gundam, especially after the lackluster performance of ZZ.
Robocop (1987)
Tumblr media
Also in 1987, we would see the release of Paul Verhoven's Robocop. Robocop is a part of that generation of 80's films where the original movie's deep scathing criticism would be watered down by corporate America's need to constantly make money off of each and every remotely popular series. And while that may be true, the original Robocop still holds up as a scathing criticism of American capitalism in the 80's.
Rockman/Megaman (1987)
Tumblr media
(I just found this gif on Tenor. If anyone knows who to source it to, please let me know.)
1987 would also see the release of Capcom's Megaman, one of the icons of the halcyon days of gaming. Sporting his arm-mounted Mega Buster, Mega Man would run through multiple stages in an attempt to stop Doctor Wily and his army of Robot Masters. Megaman would become one of the more iconic of Capcom's roster of characters, though over time he'd be left behind in favor of other characters like Ryu from Street Fighter, Dante from Devil May Cry, and my personal favorite, Rathalos from Monster Hunter. Fortunately, the Blue Bomber would never truly be forgotten, especially with the surprise release of Mega Man 11 in 2018.
Warhammer 40,000 (1987)
Tumblr media
Man, 1987 was a packed year for mecha, wasn't it.
In 1987, Games Workshop would release the first edition ruleset for Warhammer 40,000, the sci-fi spinoff to their popular Warhammer Fantasy setting. The grim dark future of the 41st millennium is filled to the brim with all sorts of mechanical monstrosities, from the hulking Imperial titans, to the crimson-robed tech priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus and the mechanical hordes of the Necron.
A fun thing to also note is that, due to both series having a big modelmaking scene, Warhammer 40k tends to see an overlap in fanbases with Mobile Suit Gundam. It certainly helps when both peddle in plastic crack, and as someone who is addicted to the Gundam variety, game respects game.
Patlabor (1988)
Tumblr media
Created in 1988 by the collective known as Headgear (which includes famed director Mamoru Oshii among its ranks), I would consider Patlabor to be one of the greatest love letters to mecha ever created. Patlabor is a series where a lot of worldbuilding was added to justify the existence of the giant robots that the creators love so dearly. Something to take note of while watching Patlabor is the general optimism the series brings to the table, even though the series is often grouped together with shows like Armored Trooper VOTOMs.
Most of the series would release between the the end of the decade, but one entry in this franchise would release during a rather rough moment in Japanese history. I'll cover it at some point when I get around to the 90's. Let's just say that if you know what the phrase "Kill Wyvern" is, you'll probably recognize what it'll be.
Also, not to toot my own horn or anything, but I did a write about Patlabor back in the day. So feel free to check that out as well if you have the time.
Cyberpunk 2020 (1988)
Tumblr media
(Footage from Cyberpunk 2077)
In 1988, Mike Pondsmith would release the first edition of the Cyberpunk 2020 ruleset, because this is the 80's and tabletop RPGs are kind of the thing (Satanic Panic notwithstanding). In a move that will surprise no one, this series would help to codify a lot of tropes associated with the cyberpunk genre, including at the very least the concept of cyber psychosis.
In 2012, former Internet darling company CD Projekt Red would announce that they would be working on a video game adaptation of Cyberpunk called Cyberpunk 2077. Let's just leave it at that, as I don't really have nice things to say about CD Projekt Red.
Dragon's Heaven (1988)
Tumblr media
From mechanical designer Makoto Kobayashi comes 1988's Dragon's Heaven. This extremely stylish and artistically unique OVA is a product of what happens when you give someone who's career started with building garage kits the budget to make an OVA. You want to know where the budget went to? It went into making the models for the main mecha of the OVA. Don't take my word for it? Here's Kenny Lauderdale talking about exactly that.
And in case anyone's wondering, Makoto Kobayashi has, in fact, worked on Gundam before. He's the one who designed Zeta Gundam's Baund-Doc and The O.
Ghost in the Shell (1988)
Tumblr media
Also releasing in 1988 is the manga Ghost in the Shell. Created by Masamune Shirow, Ghost in the Shell would become an important series in the worlds of cyberpunk and anime, especially with the film that would release in 1995 directed by Mamoru Oshii. Specifically, this movie along with Akira would be some of the first anime that would really show that people outside of Japan had an interest in anime. Ghost in the Shell would also come to be one of the more influential works out there, as it would be the basis for the Wachowski's iconic movie The Matrix.
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket (1989)
Tumblr media
1989 would be greeted with the introduction of two (of many) culturally important mecha OVAs. The first is Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, which is also the first Gundam series to be directed by someone not named Yoshiyuki Tomino. War in the Pocket would be a great reminder of why Gundam works as a story, but it would also be one of the Gundam stories with, in my humble opinion, the strongest anti-war messages of the franchise.
Gunbuster (1989)
Tumblr media
The other would be Studio Gainax's first official (meaning not the Daicon short) animated series, Gunbuster. Arguably one of the most hot-blooded mecha series out there, Gunbuster is a series that tries to ground itself with real world physics before going "eh," throwing it all in the waste paper basket, and deciding that all we need is HOT BLOOD. This would be the first of many of Gainax's hits, and it would be the first of what I'm going to be referring to from here on out as Gainax's Elite Four.
Conclusion
We've covered a lot of series, but you might be asking yourself things like: "What was going on with Nagano?"
Don't worry, my friends. We still have one more part for the 80's. And in case you're wondering why I saved this part for last, it's because Tomino's output in the 80's is pretty legendary due to how iconic pretty much every series is. Granted, not everyone talks about these series in this day and age, but anyone who's talked about mecha in any capacity will more than likely be able to recognize at least one of these series.
You will see the tears of time.

Wait in the Millennium event does the public know about the eugenics project that the Oans want to run? Are they fine with it just like all the superheroes are for some reason?
Idk about anything else but if I were writing these superheroes I would have had them let the Manhunters (robot space cops) destroy the Oans (who created multiple sects of space cops to police the younger civilizations in the universe and want to run a eugenics program on Earth) and then had them destroy the Manhunters.
But no the heroes respect the authority of the Oans for some fucking reason.

Serious Battles/Storylines Booster Has Been In (a probably pretty okay list):
The 1000 (1986, first solo)
Millennium (The Manhunters 1987, event)
Invasion (The Dominators 1988, event)
Ivo and Amazos (1989)
Teasdale Imperative (1989, JLE crossover event)
Armageddon (the Monarch, 1991, event)
Despero (1992)
Eclipso (1992, event)
Doomsday (1992, event)
Eclipso (again, 1993, event)
Devastator/Overmaster (1994) - Had his right arm shorn off, got his heart and lungs fucked up, straight up died, got hail-mary'd back to life by Ted, spent an entire year trapped in his armor because it doubled as life support:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zero Hour (1994, event)
Underworld Unleashed (1995, event)
Final Night (1996, event)
World War III (2000, event)
Our Worlds at War (2001, event)
Identity Crisis (2004, event)
Countdown (2005, 💔)
Infinite Crisis (2005, event)
52 (2006) - psychologically imploded in the beginning, but saved the whole fucking multiverse at the end of it
Booster Gold, Vol. 2 (2007-2011) - even the funny parts hurt some
Justice League: Generation Lost (2010-2011) - fucking ouch
Justice League International (New52, 2011) - legit serious leader regardless of dumbassery
Booster Shot (Rebirth, 2018)
I'm probably actually missing some. Like-- you can't let Tom King's really really bad characterization in one really lousy Batman storyline and then the absolute fuckery that was HiC erase the fact that Booster's been a legitimate superhero since his first solo. You can't even let his creator get away with it in Blue & Gold! (Though, like, he actually did help save the League there, too.)
He fought real bad guys that whole time. He was in the same major events as everyone else. Sometimes, he was even a MAJOR PLAYER in the same major events as everyone else. He got fucked up more than once doing it.
And like-- those panels above are most definitely of a guy who hasn't been serious or legit or sacrificed ever, nope. /s
So-- if we're counting pre-Flashpoint history again, DC, he's already been a hero. For a long time. A pretty damn decent one, too. (As in, you know, saving 52 universes and everything!) And from his second solo in 2007 into Flashpoint, his glory-hounding was straight up a cover. Even if we're only selectively counting some of that, that's all still real, bonafide heroing. And he's gone supervillain 100% less of the time than some of the other big name heroes, too.
