#mermaid tights

Today I had an appointment for updating my eye prescription. I had mentioned from a few doctors that certain age groups had vision changes and need updating.

Sounds like I am getting a prescription for progressive lenses as my near field vision seems different than last time. I did ask if vision changing could contribute to generalized fatigue, and the doctor said yes, it could.

I thought to take a few photos outside, under natural lighting. I have been taking a lot of photos with back drops and weird stoner lighting, so I thought to photo some in natural light, to show proof I'm actually human 👾

Today I wore out my mermaid tights, and had a few nice mentions. Which is infinitely better than being asked about mobility aid use.

After seeing photos of the coney island mermaid parade a few years ago. I was struck by a bit of wonder and awe. I just love seeing people find their tribe and find joy in being themselves.

My mermaid tights are a bit of showing solidarity, and hoping to find my tribe. Also noticing some women wearing nice tights, so trying out my jorts and tights combo.

Lesbian Mermaids from Space (and the queers that adore them) should maybe be a thing? Might have to ask the authors on tumblr list.

was looking thru the mermaid au tag on ao3 a couple months ago and realised bones is rarely the mermaid so i sought to change that

I know it’s a common hc that percy loves the little mermaid and I do think that’s true but I think he likes ponyo more.

My reasons are as follows

1. Sōsuke’s relationship with his mom

They love eachother so muuuccchh, and they want to protect and take care each other, and while it is different, and does have a dad that’s kind of present he’s still at sea for the entire movie so it’s Lisa that has to be there sōsuke, operating in someways as a single mom. She is patient and brave and incredibly kind (all traits sōsuke got from her) and i think percy could help but think of his mom. ( especially when he thinks his mom died/ is gone it would strike a cord in him particularly after tlt)

2. Environmentalist message/ undertones

I feel like particularly after tbotl and pan and as he talks more to more naiads he would appreciate the commentary on pollution in the ocean

3. It’s studio ghibli

Kindred spirits appear when you least expect them (geddit?).

Normally it wouldn't be a massive deal hating something popular, bc inevitably, everyone's gonna hate something popular at some point in their lives. But what do you do when you hate Me Before You and LOVE Sam Claflin, what do you do then? What do you do, when you see an article about him and get that dreaded feeling in your stomach as you click to open it, bc you know that film will be mentioned? (I want to hug every journalist who doesn't bring it up. Nicely done work, Men's Health.) What do you do when you see all the comments from people who love that film saying how much they cried? (Why? WHY???? What is there to cry about? How easily impressed people are by a cheap tearjerker?) What do you do when that film is sold as the best thing in romance, a True Love (how?), a "doomed love story" (how????? Romeo and Juliet is a doomed love story, not this trash). What do you do when you know there are much, much better, more quality films with Sam to watch, with better developed female characters AND love interests--but everyone ignores them? What do you do?
