Misty, Jessie and Jigglypuff Memorial

The truth was hard for everyone, Ash, Brock, James, Meowth, even the Balloon Pokémon, Jigglypuff. The gang began to pay their respects for their respective friends by leaving behind a Cascade Badge (Misty), a Team Rocket grunt Uniform Top (Jessie), and a microphone marker (Jigglypuff) on Rachael Lillis' grave.

And while she did occasionally voice Pikachu since the first season, both Meowth and Pikachu began to comfort our favorite singing Fairy-type Pokémon, Jigglypuff. It's just not going to be the same without her voice, or singing in Jigglypuff's voice.

Jigglypuff doesn't even feel like singing. Even Misty's Togetic was coming after he heard the news, and was starting to cry.

"Puff... puff..." Jigglypuff cried until she felt both Pikachu and Meowth hugging her. "Pika pika... Pikachu-Pi. (Don't cry, Jigglypuff. I miss Misty/Kasumi too." Pikachu said with a sad look.

"Meowth, that's right. I'm gonna miss that little twerpette, and Jessie too. We're here for ya, Jigglypuff." Meowth said comforting Jigglypuff as she began to let out a sad Disarming Voice. Even though Pikachu was here, both James and Meowth feel that it wouldn't be right to steal Pikachu now, not even at a memorial service.

This is a memorial to Misty and Jessie, since their shared voice actress, Rachael Lillis had died of breast cancer this year. Pokémon just won't be the same without Rachael Lillis.

Rest in Peace, our childhood voice actress of

and Jigglypuff. We will always remember you, and we'll always prepare for trouble. Make it double.

I’ve been noticing a lot of actresses of color getting cast in roles traditionally played by or previously described as white women. And I see a lot of people arguing for or against this. I also think people are asking the wrong question.

To preface this, I want to say that the actual casting doesn’t matter to me. I don’t completely fit traditional Hollywood standards myself. As long as the actress fits the role, I couldn’t care less. But I am somewhat concerned about the intentions behind it. There are certainly exceptions to this, but a major trend right now is changing the leading woman to an actress of color, usually a black actress, and keeping the male leads white. Some famous examples of this are Percy and Annabeth in the Percy Jackson series, Alina and Kirigan in Shadow and Bone, Ariel and Eric in the latest Little Mermaid adaption, and, most recently, Hiccup and Astrid from the live-action How To Train Your Dragon.

I think it’s great that young girls of color have characters on screen they can relate to and look up to. So do young white boys, but that’s never been a problem. Young white girls still have plenty of examples outside of this trend. Tbh I think there’s a lack of representation for young boys of color, but I’ll save that for another time.

So, again, I’ve been asking myself why the big studios worth billions keep casting young women and girls of color in leading roles, inevitably sparking controversy. The good answer would be because they are committed to diversity, but for an industry so greedy, that, unfortunately, seems unlikely. When asking why the entertainment industry does anything, the answer is almost always money.

Controversy starts discussions. Any publicity is good publicity; the public will advertise for you, even if they’re spewing hate. And who’s more used to hate than women of color? They deal with the sexists and the racists. And a studio making white people feel threatened will always breed hate. My thinking is they are purposefully throwing these young women under the bus so that they can pat themselves on the back for being inclusive and get some free advertising. Women of color are taught that they need to be particularly grateful for these opportunities, and they have a responsibility to represent their intersectional demographic. So they take the hate, and don’t complain.

To be clear, I’m definitely not saying we should stop casting women of color in traditionally white roles - I’m quite excited to see Nico Parker in How to Train Your Dragon; I was blown away by her small yet powerful role in The Last of Us. I’m saying it’s crucial to examine why these decisions are being made, who benefits from fueling controversy, and who we point fingers at.

before i pass out for the night. since my brain is back on dan and phil as if its 2016 or something i need to put this out into the world. this isnt some sort of important life changing post, just a personal funny thing

so when i was 13 and fixating on dan and phil, i read a lot of fanfics. like, i guarantee that even after all these years that, if i had the statistics, that fandom was the one i read the most fanfics for and constantly. i couldnt tell you what nearly any of them were about, and i have a feeling that many of them are probably lost to time by now. i also dont know if i need to mention that yeah, a lot of them were shipping, and yes ive long grown out of that. (the dnp fandom is actually what made me grow out of that)

anyway all this to say that over the last 6 years after i stopped fixating on dan and phil, one fanfic stuck with me and i just. i think about it every once in a while. its been over half a decade. it wasnt a groundbreaking fic, i dont remember any quotes or specifics, just the premise as of at least the first few chapters. idk why it stuck with me

it was literally a fic about. if the world had gotten to a point where almost every child was born as like, a science baby instead of a natural baby, and phil was a science baby, but dan was a natural baby. and there was somehow this like, thing where the science babies would bully the natural babies for some reason idek, and this was a highschool setting and i think dan was a new kid in school. and what gets me about the fic is that dan was some small shy scared kid and phil was some mean jerk bully. and how wild that is compared to how they are in real life

this isnt me trying to find the fic or the person who wrote it or any of that, this is literally just. i remember this fic at least once every few months and i needed to get it out of my brain somewhere

Since the name Lilith is supposed to be tied to the night, she was supposed to perform her wifely duties during that time. With the husband gone most of the day to do chores for the prosperity of his family, the wife was supposed to nurture the children at home.

She was mostly left to be on her own while he was away with the expectation that after their nightly reunions, she would eventually find herself expecting. Working the fields may not be easy while dealing with pregnancy symptoms.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, so there might've been the expectation that the first humans would channel their limited waking moments to the marital act of consummation. Wanna say they'd come close to it, but her insistence to be treated as his equal and join him in his tasks might've kicked their chances of keeping up with the assigned program completely off track.

Intimacy goes out the window once you start to argue and don't have conflict resolution skills too.
