In the furry au are Mockley and Coltarch just themselves or do they have their own fursonas that are completely different from the animals that they already are

The plural of goose is geese.

Following this logic, the plural of moose is now meese.

ok so on Friday, as I was leaving French, I was talking to my friend about this linguistic fact where goose goes to geese but moose doesn’t go to meese cuz they have different etymological roots

and my French teacher asked me what their roots were, but I didn’t know so I researched over the weekend and found out just to tell her and she gave me a Rosa

a Rosa is like a house point and the more Rosas you earn per term, the more times your name in put into this giant draw (like in the hunger games) and at the end of each half term, they pick out one name per year group and the people whose names are picked out’s classes get a box of donuts in formtime.

Two of my coworkers speak English as a second language (they’re Russian and Albanian) and have heavy accents and one of the other girls copies their speech pattern so 3/4 coworkers speak in like, straight to the point sentences. (put it in the bin -> put in bin)

And anyways even though I’ve only been working there for 2 weeks I’ve been noticing I’ve been picking it up too (at least mentally) and I just think it’s so cool how your brain just DOES THAT and adapts language patterns to fit in with a new social circle. Like. Imagine a bird starts adding new notes to its call because it’s making/wants friends

It’s such a weird thing to think of objectively but I still think it’s cool! Language is very cool!!
